Recall notices sent out September 2025, no updates have been provided. I have contacted the dealer for additional support, and they just can confirm parts are not available. One of the recalls is for potential leaks from a flexible break line; seem that in six months parts would be available for something as serious as a break line; even the recall states it could lead to loss of breaking resulting in an accident.

2017 Ford Edge, front axle and ball joint had to be replaced around 33K- still under extended warranty.. Now same or opposite ball joint /axle making click/ ping at 43K no longer under warranty, cant tell left or right axle/ball joint. Will have to take it in to ford at Melbourne Fl at personal expense.. Probably next month...

There are two safety recalls for my car. Service brakes and rear camera. The camera stopped working four years ago. I took it to ford, they said we can replace it for $1500. However, now they don’t have the parts. What kind of scam is Ford and nhtsa doing? The brake line recall was first reported over four years ago, I know this because I received a letter back then. I was told by the Chapman ford, I nj, that when the parts come in they would contact me. Well that never happened. Again what kind of scam is being run here. I’m 73, I really need this camera repaired, I can’t afford $1500. So when are these parts available. A letter should be sent to all the people with an eta when parts will be available for recalls. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED LETTER This complaint is being submitted due to gross negligence in recall communication and manufacturer accountability. This failure in vehicle safety oversight that has already resulted in emotional and financial harm. In September of this year, I submitted an application for a buy-back option to Ford but was denied. This application/request was assigned a case number by Ford: cxh05566445w6s6x2 My vehicle has four unresolved safety recalls, two of which directly caused two accident that could—and should—have been prevented had I been notified of the known safety risks. I did not receive recall notices until after both of the accidents occurred, which demonstrates a systemic failure by the manufacturer, Ford. This negligence is not only irresponsible—it violates basic safety obligations to consumers and the public. I request immediate action from NHTSA to investigate this matter and enforce compliance. A description of the incidents and associated recalls that have incurred are described on the following page. Additionally, just last week while driving on a rural road, my vehicle’s transmission unexpectedly shifted from standard Drive into Sport mode (“S”) on its own without any input from me. This sudden and uncommanded gear change created a dangerous driving situation, and I strongly believe this may be another serious safety defect that has yet to be acknowledged or recalled by the manufacturer. 1. My car loses power when I press the gas. For example, I can come to a stop, wait until it’s safe to turn in front of another car, then try to take off — but the vehicle suddenly loses all power. It won’t accelerate, and I have to keep pressing the gas and hope it goes. Sometimes I have to pull over, put it in park, turn the car off, and restart it before it will drive again. This also happens on the freeway. When this issue happens, the car also shifts very hard afterward, causing it to jump forward. This makes the vehicle extremely unsafe — especially when I am trying to turn in front of cars moving at high speed and my car suddenly loses all power. I have taken the vehicle in five times for the same issue, but the Ford dealership has not been able to repair it. I have also called Ford’s corporate office, but they said they cannot help. I opened a case with the BBB as well, and they advised me to open a case with you. At this point, I am at a complete loss with this issue. I travel with my two kids in the car, and I am honestly afraid to drive it — but I have no other vehicle.

My adaptive steering light came on and my steering wheel turned to the left like I am turning left. I am on social security and can not afford to pay 4000 dollars to have this fixed. Ford has a recall on 2017 edges for this. All these steering wheels are made just alike. This vin# should be included in the recall. I do not want to have an accident due to them not fixing this vehicle. Please help me with this. Thank you.

Took my car to my mechanic said that coolant was draining into my 2.0 ecoboost engine in cylinder 4 causing misfire, white smoke to come out of my pipes, sweet antifreeze smell in the cabin. Have to constantly dump coolant into the car so that it doesn't over heat.when i start the car in the morning it acts as if the car is going to die if I don't hit the gas. Contacted ford, they said it was my problem. I bought the car a year ago. It started at about 72000 miles.

I took my Ford Edge in as the engine was making a loud rattling noise, i was told i had a cracked Flex plate and Ford will only cover half. I was NEVER notified of this recall and now i am in charge of paying 50% of a SAFETY issue because of Ford's mistake. I am now not able to drive my car advised by the mechanic because of this safety issue. This is a program by Ford and should be a recall. I should not be stuck paying 50% for something Ford messed up and am now not able to drive my vehicle as it was deemed unsafe. I also should not be paying 50% of something because Ford never legally notified me.

The backup camera doesn't come on when backing up. You can't see persons or objects behind you that could cause injury or death. Vision is obstructed by the build of the SUV in the rear of the vehicle.

Engine miss fire cylinder number 4 and coolant leak with no visible leak anywhere but now adding half gallon of coolant every couple days. Was told about possible recall of ecoboost 2.0l engine on 2017 ford edge with a coolant leak/miss fire of engine causing destruction of the engine and or causing a fire with the car.

Coolant leaked into the engine due to failed parts/seals on the car and therefore it now needs a brand new engine. Ford is aware of this issue and even issued a TSB. According to a mechanic as well as the Ford Dealership Service, it needs a complete new engine.

My vehicle has the same issues related to a recall where the coolant leaked into a cylinder effecting the engine which now has to be replaced. The problem is that this recall is vin specific which eliminates my vehicle from this recall. It is my opinion that this needs to be reviewed because somewhere along the lines somebody dropped the ball. How can my vehicle not fall under this recall due to a number?

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -The Engine had to be replaced due to coolant and oil leaking through the 4th cylinder into the engine itself, effectively killing it. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -The car unexpectedly shook very violently, and would not properly accelerate due to the problem. Smoke clouded the street as I drove to the repair shop - and other drivers were worried for mine and others safety. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -The problem was confirmed by an independent mechanic as well as a Ford dealer, who told me this is a common occurrence with this specific engine, though there is no recall. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -The Ford dealer inspected the engine and came to the same conclusion as the independent mechanic - the engine had suffered an intrusion of oil and coolant through the 4th cylinder which effectively killed the engine. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -The check engine light had been on for around a year prior. Also, the acceleration had been getting weaker and weaker.

I have a 2017 Ford Edge and have the issue of intrusion of coolant into the cylinders, which I learned from some research is a known problem that this model is having. It initially was a check engine light. I brought it to an oil change place and they ran the code and said I needed a tuneup. I got a tuneup and the light returned. It caused the engine to overheat. Luckily, I was not stranded but could have easily been stranded with my grandkids in the car on a roadway. The only resolution is a complete engine replacement costing me $8,000 because Ford has not issued a recall on this known problem and is not standing behind their product.

The noise goes away when we start driving and comes back again when we stop in a signal or take turns…mechanic told us they think it's a broken flexplate and they gave me an estimate of $1500 to fix that issue…[After] reading a few other forum articles regarding this issue what I found out it is a very common issue for Ford, which is almost always a manufacturing fault.”

I bought a brand new Ford Edge in 2017 with a warranty of 5 years and 60,000 miles. Several weeks ago, my car turned the engine light on and began having difficulty staying on during idle time and at stop signs. Immediately, I took it to the dealer and they diagnosed the problem of a leakage of coolant into the cylinders. They quoted me for an amount greater than the trade in value of the vehicle. From my online research, other customers are having the same leakage recurrent issue for Ford Edges between 2016-2023. The dealer could not tell me the reason behind this leakage causing the engine to overheat. This coolant leakage happening to a lot of their vehicles is putting individuals in danger of fire, explosion, or the vehicle stopping at any movement even while driving. There is absolutely no indication that this leakage was caused by poor maintenance or excessive wear and tear, and this is a recurring issue on their cars. I am afraid to drive the vehicle and cause an explosion or a fire on the road. However, Ford dealerships across the country are sending individuals on their way with defective engines without addressing the reason why new cars are having coolant leakage and having to replace the entire engine. It is Ford's responsibility to acknowledge defective parts and stop putting customers in danger. The component Ford is saying needs repair is the long block and it can be available for inspection if needed.

When got into a fender bender, originally it was just the bumper. After a wheel, there was a noise coming from the car when idling. Once taken in for repair, repair company stated it was the AC fan that was the problem which was not done by the crash but elsewhere. After taking the place to three other shops, first being the repair company, the second being Ford Motors, which both told me it was okay to drive my car, the last shop confirmed that it was the flywheel and not the AC fan that was broke, and I shouldn't be driving my car. After my car was fixed, out of pocket, I get sent the recall information letter in June for Ford Motors to fix this problem in February.

This is regarding reference number 830243. We took our car to the dealership in Huntington Beach California for a recall regarding the flex plate being cracked. The dealership asked if there were issues to the acceleration and if the car was shaking, I said yes. They said it may be the flex plate and to bring it in. We received notification that the flex plate was not cracked, but the torque converter was the issue. This make and model, built at the Oakville Plant in May 2017 has previously had flex plate recall. We are assessing why our vehicle was not under that recall. I have spoke to an agent at NHTSA who stated that the manufacturer is in charge of the recall roll out and what vin numbers are covered. I called Ford, who I assumed to be the manufacturer of the Ford Edge Vehicle and they explained to me that they do not manufacture anything (very re-assuring). Today when I spoke to Ford, it has been useless. No real answers. They asked me to speak to the dealership. Danielle, the dealership service dept manager at Huntington Beach Ford Located at 18255 Beach Blvd was not very kind, explained to me that my car was not covered under 22n12 because the flex plate was not cracked. But the program terms state that a one time repair if needed to the flex plate, transmission fluid pump and torque converter would be covered. It appears that twice our vehicle make and model, built in Oakville, MI has had recalls to the torque converter in 2017 with the ford reference number 17S16 and again with the flex plate with 22n12 which is a part directly related to the torque converter. This appears to be a safety issue with this vehicle that nobody will address.

Within the past few weeks I recall hearing an explosive sound while driving. I pulled over to assess the situation but could not see any obvious cause of the loud noise. I seldom open the moon roof but when I did I made the connection between the explosive sound and the shattered glass moon roof. My research shows that there have been many reported incidents of shattering moon roofs and I would like to know if the manufacturer is liable for the damages.

Moon roof glass cracked on its own, looks like a spider web. Afraid that glass cracks will continue to grow and begin leaking or worse chip off shards that could possibly cut skin. Has not been inspected by dealer, police, manufacturer or insurance. No warning lights or any other symptoms or indications - simply opened the roof cover one day & discovered the cracked glass. The moon roof electrical slide functions properly, it’s just the glass that is the issue.

Since November I am smelling antifreeze and exhaust in the cabin of the car. It was so bad it would burn my eyes- we had to ride with windows open, in the winter in the NE. Took to Ford the found a TPI on the exhaust odors but have to go through “steps” to find it. While I pay a deductible for them to find this. Ford is aware of exhaust odors but has not issued a recall yet for this.

On 08/17/22 I took my car into Bill Collins because there was a loss of coolant, and my SUV was acting up. It was jerking randomly. At the time the SUV was noted to have 63,860 miles. Dealership fixed recalls on vehicle and did a pressure test and said there was a water pump leak. Replaced water pump and gasket. Check engine light remained on and when asked dealership about it they said in order to get the check engine light off it would have to go to another part of the dealership, and we would be charged another $99 diagnostic fee. On 11/21/22 SUV was taken back to Bill Collins because it was still doing the same thing. This time you could also hear water moving/draining from behind the dash and the check engine light was still on. Dealership fixed another recall showing on vehicle and said that the water pump had air pocket. Sent home but sputtering engine was not fixed. 12/08/22 contacted dealership again to let them know that nothing they have done over the past several months has worked and SUV is still acting up. Was told they would have a higher up mechanic look at vehicle to see what the issue was. Dealership contacted us two days later stating that vehicle needs a new motor. Current mileage 67,883. Dealership stated they verified coolant intrusion into cylinder and that it is necessary to replace the long block. Exact verbiage from dealership employee. (Coolant intrusion into cylinder #2. Verified defective engine block. Coolant leaking internally.) My SUV has been in and out of Bill Collins Ford for the past 4 months and no one could figure out the problem. Yet, when we spoke to Bill Collins about the new motor, we were told at that time that this is a known issue. Yet, no one mentioned it for 4 months and I've been driving my vehicle in this condition? I work for Ford and have supported Ford for the past 7 years. I am wanting to understand how Ford is going to make this right.

My Ford Edge SE Flex plate broke while on the highway I was rapidly slowing down and could not get over cause of cars passing me on the right and left causing the vehicle behind me to almost rear ending me. I had it towed to the Ford dealership and he has confirmed it is the flex plate that broke. There was a rattling sound approximately a week prior to it breaking I had an appointment with the dealership the same day it broke and got towed in.

I wanted to see if I could trade it in at a Volkswagen dealership and they gave the car fax, and it was in an accident. A very serious one where they hit the driver's side left rear. The car had to be towed with severe damage. To this day they still have not given the car fax 9/25/2022 to me.

MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON -7/10/2022. TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE BECAUSE IT WAS THE WEEKEND AND THEY SAID THEY COULD FIX THE PROBLEM SO I COULD HAVE CAR BACK FOR THE MONDAY MORNING. I DROVE IT TO WORK FOR EXACLTY A WEEK AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON-7/17/2022. TOOK IT BACK TO FIRESTONE AND HE PUT IT BACK ON THE DIAGNOSTIC AND FOUND THE SAME PROBLEM. HE LOOKED IT UP ON FORD.COM AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE LONG BLOCK AND PRINTED IT OUT THE REPORT FOR ME. I HAVE AN APPOINMENT FOR AUGUST 2 TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT BECAUSE THAT WAS THE ONLY DAY CAN GET ME IN.

I have 2 manufacture RECALLS………. -1st recall is very recent “NHTSA Safety Recall 22V413……….waiting on Ford to distribute the parts to dealerships. -2nd recall is from 2020 “Front Brake Flexible Hose Leaks”………I’ve contacted 4 local Ford Dealers in the Jackson area, TN…….and NO ONE HAS THE BREAK HOSES. ITS BEEN 2 years!”!”! I’ll be seeking legal advice….I’m in fear of driving my car…. My neighbor who has the same model car had BOTH Brake Hoses break while she was driving. She literally had no brakes while in traffic. Can you help me??

Glass roof cracks... They appear to be stress fractures. Both on the front moon roof panel and the rear panoramic glass panel. Pictures attached. The care is garaged. The cracks on the rear panoramic occurred 1st. The cracks on the front moonroof panel occurred several months afterwards.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at 50-60 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact veered to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, and the warning lights were no longer illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not replicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred twice while driving and the vehicle was taken to the dealer at each occasion. The dealer informed the contact that they could not replicate the failure; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,500. THE CONSUMER STATED 4 OF THE INCIDENTS OCCURED WHILE MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY. THE CONSUMER STATED ALL TROUBLESHOOTING EFFORTS FAILED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT, BUT CONSISTENT.

"Wheel" - The lugnuts are swollen on all 4 wheels. -Yes you can inspect. -Safety and safety of others were at risk. -I'm getting them fixed at Costco with a full set of new tires. -No warning lights

automatic door latches and inside lights and flashers switch on and off randomly. It does not matter if the car is being driven or sitting overnight in the driveway. This may cause the battery to drain and require jumping off. It also allows for theft if the doors are unlocked. The problem was checked out by my local ford dealership. A representative went for a test drive and said he only heard the door latches click one time so it was not bad enough to worry about. I was told by the ford service rep. that it could be a low voltage problem so I replaced the car battery and the electronic key batteries but the problem continues.

Bought a used 2017 Ford Edge in June of 2021 75K miles. Approx. three weeks later the check engine light came on. Diagnostic code was misfire in the number 2 cylinder. Spark plugs and coil packs were replaced. Check engine light remained on. Several days later check engine light went off. Brought the car in for a recall fix on brake hose and spoke with Ford technician that I was getting ready to travel to TN and wanted to make sure that it was safe to do so. Assured that it would be fine. During the course of our trip to TN the check engine light came on and off several times. On our way home noticed the heat wasn't working very well. Before we left the hotel in the morning checked coolant level and it was low. Filled it up and continued on our way home. Since then every three days coolant level is low. Starting up in the morning puff of white smoke comes out the pipe. Out of Fords warranty and a loan on a car I have had three months with a major problem. Did some research only to find this is a common problem that could potentially cause a fire. Dealer says I need a new engine...and I have to pay for it.

In February we had a knocking noise when driving 2017 Ford edge. We took into dealership and had a cracked flywheel. Currently, our 2017 edge is back in the shop with another crackes flywheel. This vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership 1 week after we purchased to replace the whole engine for 3 months. Then we are dealing with 2 cracked flywheels and have had the brake lines fail twice, which is also a recall. This vehicle is a lemon!

THE DESCRIPTION BELOW IS WHAT HAS OCCURRED WITH MY VEHICLE. IT HAS A CRACKED FLEXPLATE RESULTING IN LOUD NOISE WHEN STARTING ENGINE AND WHEN IDLE OR AT LOW SPEED. VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL. COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF POWER IF NOT FIXED. A YEAR AGO MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS MISFIRING WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS SO I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE. THEY FIXED THE HEAD GASKET AND REPLACED THE CYLINDERS AND IT RAN OKAY FOR A WHILE. FAST FORWARD TO LAST WEEK AND I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH MY FIVE YEAR OLD AND MY DOG IN THE CAR ON OUR WAY TO VACATION AND AN ERROR LIGHT CAME ON SAYING IT WAS A COOLANT EMERGENCY; AT THE SAME TIME THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON IMMEDIATELY. SUDDENLY THE CAR BASICALLY WENT DEAD WHILE IN MOTION GOING 75 MILES PER HOUR. I HAD TO STEER IT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND TURN IT OFF; LEAVING US STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY FOR 4 HOURS. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE AND THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE APPARENTLY AFTER I HAD MY CAR WORKED ON THE FIRST TIME THERE WAS A TSB 19-2346 SAYING IF THIS PROBLEM OCCURS THEN THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS 3 YEARS OLD AND HAS HAD MAJOR ENGINE FAILURE TWICE IN ONE YEAR- LEAVING MY FAMILY AND I IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE ECOBOOST 2.0 ENGINE. A COMMON PROBLEM?!?! NOW I HAVE TO PAY $7000 FOR A NEW ENGINE, $600 FOR A TOW ACROSS THREE STATES $100 IN UBER FOR PICKING US UP AND HOTEL FEES LEAVING US STRANDED.

I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT MY 2017 SILVER FORD EDGE, BECAUSE ON 5/8/2020 THE ENGINE ICON CAME UP ON MY DASH. SO I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AT THE LOCAL JARETT FORD DEALERSHIP IN LAKELAND, FL, THINKING IT JUST NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. AFTER I GOT THIS DONE, THE ENGINE ICON NEVER WENT AND I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE MY VEHICLE SHAKING AND IT ALSO BEGAN HEATING UP. THIS HAPPENED IN 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, WITH A RED WARNING MESSAGE ON MY DASH OF THE PRECAUTION I SHOULD TAKE TO AVOID OVERHEATING. EACH TIME I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE, WAITED FOR IT TO COOL DOWN, AND ADDED COOLANT TO THE RADIATOR COOLANT TANK. I WENT TO ELDER FORD OF TAMPA, FL, WHERE I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE AND THE SERVICE MANAGER, TERRY WAS COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS AS TO WHO NHTSA IS AS WELL AS NO IDEA OF THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. AS I WENT TO DRIVE AWAY MY VEHICLE, NOW IT DID NOT WANT TO START. FRANK TRIED TO SEE IF IT WAS A BATTERY ISSUE AND TRIED JUMP STARTING IT BUT IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BATTERY. BY GOD'S MIRACLE MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY TURNED ON AND BY HIS MERCIES I WAS ABLE TO ARRIVE AT MY HOUSE. I PURCHASED A 2017 FORD EDGE, IN 2017, WHICH RAN FINE AT FIRST. A YEAR IN, THE CAR WOULD RUN ROUGH, AND TWICE BOGGED DOWN AND TURNED OFF. STARTED AGAIN, REPLACED BATTERY WITH UNDER 2YRS OF USE AND KEPT WORKING. FAST FORWARD TWO YEARS, A FEW WEEKS AGO, WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, I BEGAN TO SEE PERFORMANCE ISSUES AND SUDDENLY WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT THE EXHAUST. NO LEAKING WAS EVIDENT, AND I NEVER GOT A WARNING ON MY DASH ABOUT TEMP OR COOLANT OR ANYTHING OF THE LIKE. TOOK IT TO FORD, WHERE I BOUGHT IT, AND AFTER EXPLAINING THE NHTSA CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM, TWO OF THE ASSOCIATES REACTED COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT EVEN NHTSA STOOD FOR OR THE ISSUE, WHICH BTW SEEMS TO BE REPORTED OVER 10 TIMES ON THE NHTSA SITE. NEVERTHELESS, THEY SUGGESTED A NEW BATTERY, SPARK PLUGS/WIRES, AND THEN OFFERED TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW DAYS CHARGING $125 FOR THE "DIAGNOSTIC", TO WHICH I REFUSED. THEY THEN GAVE IT A ONCE-OVER, AND FOUND COOLANT IN THE ENGINE, [MILKY OIL] WHICH INDICATES WATER SEEPING INTO THE ENGINE AND WOULD MOST LIKELY REQUIRE A CYLINDER HEAD AT THE VERY LEAST. THEY OFFERED TO GIVE ME A RENTAL, FOR WHICH THEY STATED "I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY" OUTSIDE OF THE $50 LIABILITY FEE, WHICH IS REFUNDABLE UPON FORD'S HQ/CREDIT TEAM GOT BACK TO THEM. IF THEY SAW THAT THIS WAS NOT A "RECALL" TYPE ITEM, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL AS WELL AS THE COST OF REPAIRS, WHICH BALL-PARKED AROUND $4500-$5000. WARNING LIGHTS OF: "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE"... (NEVER HAD IT ANYWAY). "STEERING ASSIST FAULT - SERVICE REQUIRED" "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" - DASHBOARD ICON "STABILITY CONTROL OFF" - DASHBOARD ICON... THESE WARNINGS ARE ON EVERYTIME I DRIVE THE CAR.. THIS STARTED AND FIRST HAPPENED IN MID FEB. 2020. IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. AFTER A FEW FEET IT SORT OF STALLED. I RESTARTED AND NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THE LIGHTS AND LACK OF POWER STEERING. EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING VEHICLE CABIN IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENGINE START, REVERSING VEHICLE, OR SIMPLY IDLING. THERE ALREADY EXISTS A TSB, 18-2057 FOR EXHAUST ODOR IN VEHICLE FOR THIS YEAR FORD EDGE. THIS VEHICLE IS IN PERFECT CONDITIONS AND HAS NO ACCIDENT HISTORY. FORD LINCOLN OF FRANKLIN (TN) WILL REQUIRE NEARLY $1000 TO PERFORM TSB 18-2057, WHICH IS AT BEST A GUESSING GAME AS TO WHERE THE FUMES ENTER VEHICLE! AT THIS POINT, I'M SURE FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNOWS WHERE THE FLAW IS, JUST LIKE THEY DENY EXHAUST FUMES IN THE FORD EXPLORER.

THE REAR GLASS PANEL IN THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF HAS SPIDER CRACKS THROUGHOUT. THE CAR IS NORMALLY PARKED IN A COVERED AREA. I HAD THE SUNROOF OPEN TWO WEEKS AGO AND THERE WERE NO CRACKS AT THAT TIME. THE CRACKS HAPPENED WITHIN THE LAST TWO WEEKS. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED BY ANY IMPACT. I BELIEVE IT IS AN INHERENT MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO SAID THE REPAIR WILL CAUSE AT LEAST $1300 AND THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CAR IS A 2017 FORD EDGE WITH 40K MILES AND HAS A 100K MILE FORD PREMIUM CARE WARRANTY.

I WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS WERE BACK ORDER AND THE DEALER HAD THE CAR AND THE REPAIRS UNDER THE WARRANTY WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED BACK BRAKES ALSO. TODAY, I NOTICED WAVY CRACKS THROUGHOUT MY REAR SUNROOF (AS I WALKED OUT TO MY STATIONARY PARKED CAR). THEY ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TRAUMA TO THE ROOF. I GOOGLED THESE CRACKS AND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS FROM FORD OWNERS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES. SOME OWNERS HAVE REPLACED THEIR SUNROOFS 3 AND 4 TIMES OVER. IT IS OBVIOUS THE GLASS IS DEFECTIVE. THERE ARE MULTIPLE MENTIONS OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THE CRACKS ARE A SAFETY CONCERN CONSIDERING THEY MAY CRACK FURTHER AND FALL INTO THE BACK SEAT ON PASSENGERS. THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE CONCERN SPOKE WITH FORD CUSTOMER CARE THEY OPENED A CASE ON THIS AND HELPED GET THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT ORIGINAL DEALER VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AT. WAS NOT THERE THE DAY BEFORE. CHECKED IT AND SURE ENOUGH, IT IS A LARGE CRACK ACROSS THE SUNROOF. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED TO FIND. WILL BE CONTACTING LOCAL AUTONATION DEALERSHIP TO DISCUSS REPAIR. I WAS PULLING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE GARAGE INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND THERE WAS NOTHING AT ALL NEAR THE VEHICLE. I LOOKED INTO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED WHAT LOOKED LIKE A PUDDLE OF WATER ON THE REAR PART OF THE SUNROOF. I GOT OUT OF THE EDGE TO FIND THAT THERE WAS A LARGE CRACK THROUGH THE REAR STATIONARY PART OF THE SUNROOF.

DROVE OKAY. MONDAY CALLED DEALER SERVICE WHO GOT ME IN TUESDAY. SERVICE STATED THEY HAD COLD CODES BUT NO HARD FAULTS/CODES SO THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DRIVEN TO GET IT TO ACT UP AGAIN. I WAS NOT TO RESTART THE ENGINE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED. I WAS VERY UNHAPPY TAKING A VEHICLE THAT COULD STOP ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME. IS SAFETY A REAL CONCERN OR NOT? 10/30/2017 WAS REVERSING OUT OF PARKING SPOT AND EDGE ENGINE STALLED. START BUTTON FLASHING AND LEFT SIDE OF DASH HAD FAULT CODE AGAIN. CALLED DEALER SERVICE SO COULD GET TRY TO GET HARD CODES BUT THEY TECHNICIAN JUST SAID TO JUST START IT, SAME PROBLEM AS BEFORE. 11/2/17 REVERSING DOWN DRIVEWAY WHEN EDGE STOPPED AND DASH WENT CRAZY. ONE FAULT CODE AFTER ANOTHER CAME UP ON LEFT SIDE OF DASH. ENGINE START BUTTON FLASHING AND LOTS OF ORANGE WARNING LIGHTS ON. VIDEOED DASH. EDGE TOWED FOR SAFETY PER DEALER. SERVICE HAD EDGE 6 DAYS FINDING SOME COMMUNICATION ISSUES WITH/TO POWER TRAIN BUT NO DEFINITE CAUSE. THEY CONTACTED FORD WHO SAID PUT IN NEW POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE. EDGE RETURNED TO ME HOPING THIS WAS NEEDED REPAIR.

THE SUN VISOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FELL OUT OF THE HEADLINER ON THE MOUNTING SIDE THE FIRST TIME WE PUT IT DOWN--IT HUNG DOWN ABOUT TWO INCHES. TODAY UNDER RAPID ACCELERATION THE OTHER SIDE CAME OUT OF IT;S CLIP FASTENER AND THE WHOLE UNIT FELL DOWN ABOUT TEN INCHES IN FRONT OF MY WIFE FACE. IT ALSO APPEARS THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE VISOR HAD ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED AS THERE ARE DIRTY SMUDGES ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VISOR. THERE WAS ALSO AN EDGE--2017--ON THE SHOWROOM FLOOR THAT HAD THE DRIVERS SIDE VISOR HANGING DOWN A COUPLE OF INCHES DUE TO A FAULTY FASTENER.. WE SAW A TOTAL OF THREE EDGE'S INCLUDING THE ONE WE PURCHASED AND THREE OF THE SIX VISORS HAD THE SAME ISSUE. IFS A DRIVERS SIDE VISOR CAME DOWN THE WAY OUR PASSENGER SIDE VISOR DID TODAY THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE OF IT CREATING AN ACCIDENT. I AM FINALLY HAVING MINE REPAIRED TOMORROW AFTER WAITING TWO WEEKS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH TWO SERVICE DEPARTMENTS WHO CHECKED SERVICE BULLETINS AND THEY SAID THERE HAD BEEN NO REPORTED ISSUES BUT OBVIOUSLY THERE IS. ALSO SPOKE WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GOT THE SAME STORY. I HAVE PICTURES BUT DUE TO BEING INCOMPETENT WITH USING A COMPUTER AND IPHONE I CANNOT GET THE PICTURES TO THIS DOCUMENT.
