In April of 2025 I got my normal oil change and I mentioned to the technician that the car seems to be jerking more than usual when I start trying to accelerate. They mentioned that the car needed the coolant flushed out and that could be contributing to the issue. I had it done in June. It was not causing the issue but the jerking got worse. So this month, August 2025, I took the care to Aamco Transmissions and Total Car Care. They did a full systems and diagnostic courtesy check and determined that I need my transmission replaced or rebuilt which is at least $7k. This is a 2021 Ford Edge. I am the only owner. I have 71k miles on the car and never thought that I would have to fully replace a transmission in 4 years.

While driving under multiple circumstances, while rolling from a stop or in gear already, the transmission will unsafely move on its own power. It will stutter if I hit the gas. It will not go sometimes and other times it will be so delayed that after I left my foot off the gas, the transmission will then go.
