Bout the vehicle from a used car dealership in Victorville and in 22 days the truck valve body gave out in the middle of me driving almost causing a car accident on freeway. The solenoid D is stuck in off and the transmission on this model is known to do this I need help or some answers
concerns regarding my 2010 Ford Escape. Within thirty (30) days of purchase, the transmission completely failed, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Additionally, upon further inspection, it was discovered that the entire underbody of the vehicle is severely rusted and corroded. This corrosion appears extensive enough to compromise the structural integrity of the frame and essential safety components. While operating the vehicle prior to transmission failure, I also experienced significant shaking and vibration during both driving and braking. These issues raise major safety concerns, as they could indicate underlying brake, suspension, or frame instability. Given the combination of a failed transmission, extensive underbody rust, and unsafe driving behavior, I believe this vehicle may present a serious risk to myself and others on the road. These types of defects and corrosion levels are unusual for a vehicle of this make and model and could point to a broader safety or manufacturing issue. I am requesting that Ford review this matter urgently and provide direction on possible inspection, repair, or compensation options. During routine maintenance my mechanic told me the sub frame of my 2010 FordEscape had a serious problem. It appears there is a design flaw which allows condensation from the air conditioner to be traped and ultimately rust through compromising the frame. They said they didn't recommend driving the car, because if the frame failed the right wheel could detatch causing a catastrophic event. This rust only exists on the passenger side.
Engine cradle rusted out. It was replaced and I have the old part. Problem was detected using the vehicle for a short drive at residential speed. If the part had failed on the freeway an accident may have occurred. Vehicle was left at a close by shop who confirmed part failure and warned vehicle could not be driven unless part replaced. Shop confirmed this is not uncommon. Called Ford Motor Company and was told to see my local dealer. Checked with dealer body shop. Body shop said never seen problem before. Parts confirmed common replacement part. Service would neither confirm nor deny quality of original part leading to failure. Concern is for younger drivers for whom this is a family hand me down.
The Front Engine Cradle sub frame is rusted out the same as the 2003-2005 escapes that were recalled
The component that failed was the "Engine Cradle". The front end of the vehicle was visibly sagging due to the failing engine cradle. The engine cradle was so severely rusted that the control arm could literally fall off vehicle while driving.
A tech showed me the frame under the car is rusted and presents that if I hit a bump I blow the front passenger tire off. Ford recalled 2001-2004 Ford escapes for this reason the metal that year rusts for those in salted road states I'm in Ohio. Ford also recalled other models for rusted frames in salted road states like Detroit. Other people in car websites also reported same issue one person on YouTube made a video about it.
1. Passenger side rear door child lock will not disengage. 2. Liftgate lock failed, and will not open.

Available for inspection upon request. Front SUB- FRAME RUSTED IN 2 ON RIGHT LOWER SIDE. Right lower control arm bushing pulled out of arm. Driving on highway car without warning jerked off the road. Could have killed everyone in the car had it collided with anything. Car is completely in drivable because it is not safe. Problem has been confirmed. No there was not any warning lights or warning. I was told by a ford mechanic that there is no way that this car should have a subframe rust through.

Component: Engine Cradle/Front Subframe - (9L8Z-5C145-A) Large holes rusting in it on passenger side. Mechanic recommends replacement as otherwise hole could weaken the structure to the point it breaks, control arm could pop out. Seems to have been a known issue on older models like 2001-2004, but any newer models are not covered by Ford's recall, despite many people on forums saying they have the same problem. Problem noticed by mechanic within the last year or so. Some people hypothesize the problem comes from where the AC leaks its condensate.

Driving down the road started hearing minor noises in the rear, then louder clunks when driving over road patches and bumps. Parked in our driveway, and inspected, found out the entire strut tower on the rear driver side tire is rusted from the frame and there is a large crack that has formed in the unibody has well. Our local Ford dealership in town sent us to the auto body shop and the auto body shop will not touch it and said park it and do not drive it. It is dangerous to myself, occupants and others on the road you can move the entire strut tower. We are stuck with a loan for a vehicle when we bought had no rust marks anywhere until after a few months. Also the roof leaks as well which was not visible when we purchased this vehicle of a lot. We took it back to the dealership we bought it from and since we bought as is, they would do nothing. They said they'd help get us in something different and will not return any calls. They had to have known this was a problem when they sold this.

The subframe is rotted out on the right passenger side which could cause the wheel to fall off while in transit. This is a known problem for the Ford escapes that has not been recalled by Ford. This vehicle is only 11 years old.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY - THE LIFT GATE TRAPS WATER INSIDE AND HAS CAUSED THE LIFT GATE TO RUST OUT SO BADLY THAT IT HAS CAUSED ME TO REPLACE THE LIFT GATE LATCH ACTUATOR MOTOR AND ASSEMBLY ON THE LIFT GATE 5 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN MAY 2010. MY SERVICE DOG HAS GOTTEN STUCK IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE LIFT GATE MOTOR BECOMING BROKEN. I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE LIFTGATE AND HAD TO TAKE DOWN THE SEATS. IN THE EVENT THIS WAS AN EMERGENCY MY SERVICE ANIMAL WOULD'VE DIED. MY SERVICE ANIMAL IS TOO LARGE TO RIDE UP FRONT AND SHE RIDES IN THE BACK. ON OCCASION WHEN MY LIFT GATE WAS NOT WORKING, I HAD TO RENT A VEHICLE. IN ORDER TO FIX THE RECENT ISSUE WITH THE GATE, THE SHOP THAT I TOOK MY CAR TO HAD TO PRY OPEN THE GATE AND REPLACE THE MOTOR ASSEMBLY. THIS ISSUE WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE LIFT GATE IS REPLACED AND NO LONGER HOLDS WATER. THIS IS A COMMON SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE FORD ESCAPES. ADDITIONALLY, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR ALSO HOLDS A LOT OF WATER. THE MILEAGE INDICATED IS FOR THE MOST RECENT REPAIR, BUT IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES PRIOR TO THIS DATE.

THE PAINT IS ALSO BEGINNING TO PEEL OFF THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE CAR.THE TOP MOLDING IS COMING OFF THE TOP OF THE CAR. MY TRUCK WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD NOT OPEN. I PAID $140.00 TO REPAIR. I PAID FOR A NOISE IN THE REAR OF THE CAR WHILE THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY OF $454.00. I HAD TO PAY FOR POWER TRAIN DEDUCTIBLE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A RECALL ITEM. THE DASH MALFUNCTIONED AND THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AND I HAD TO PAY DEALER $100.00. ALL CHARGES WERE INCURRED AT TAYLOR FORD. THE AIR CONDITION WENT OUT LAST YEAR. THE TOP MOLDING IS COMING OFF. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN SUMMER 2013 WITH A FULL FACTORY WARRANTY. THE TRUNK GOT STUCK AND WOULD NOT OPEN IN JANUARY 2017.

MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND I WAS LOADING MY CARGO AREA. AS I CLOSED MY LIFT GATE, THE REAR GLASS EXPLODED. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD HAVE POKED THE GLASS TO SHATTER IT. ALSO TOO THE WEATHERSTRIPPING AROUND THE WINDOW IS NOT PLUSH ENOUGH I THINK TO PROTECT THE INSIDE FROM WATER DAMAGE WHICH ALSO LEAD TO THE WHOLE LIFTGATE FAILING TO OPEN ANYMORE. I FEEL FORD SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE POOR CRAFTSMANSHIP THEY DID WHEN FIRST BUILDING THE CAR. WHEN I PUSHED FOR RESULTS THEY OPENED AN INVESTIGATION THEN CAME BACK AND SAID THEY WOULD SPLIT THE COST WITH ME WHICH I BELIEVE SHOULD BE FULLY COVERED SINCE IT WAS STILL UNDER THE 5 YEAR UNLIMITED MILEAGE BODY COVERAGE. ON MAY 18, 2013, I TOOK IT TO REYNOLDS FORD FOR A SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE RIGHT BEFORE A TRIP TO MEXICO AND UPON TELLING THEM ABOUT IT, THEY WANTED $250 JUST TO LOOK AT IT BEFORE PARTS AND LABOR. NOW, THE REAR BLINKER DOESN'T WORK AND YOU CAN'T REPLACE IT DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU CAN'T GET THE LIFTGATE TO OPEN IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE REAR TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY. SO, WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, VEHICLES BEHIND YOU DON'T KNOW YOU ARE TURNING AND ALMOST HIT YOU (SAFETY HAZARD). I SHUT MY TAILGATE AND THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED ON MY 2010 FORD ESCAPE. NO ONE WAS INJURED, BUT IT DEFINITELY MADE A HUGE MESS AND IT WAS A SHOCK TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN. THIS IS THE SECOND ISSUE MY VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS YEAR. A FEW MONTHS AGO THE THROTTLE CONTROL WENT ON THE VEHICLE. BOTH NOT COVERED BY FORD, DUE TO THE WARRANTY OVER. I HAVE MANY CONCERNS THAT A TWO YEAR OLD VEHICLE COULD HAVE THESE TYPE OF THINGS GOING WRONG WITH IT. MY OTHER CONCERN IS FORD WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE THESE ISSUES WITH RECALLS AND MANY OF MY FELLOW FORD OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS FOR US. MY 2010 FORD ESCAPE IS MAKING A NOISE THAT STARTED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE TOOLS WERE BEING STORED IN THE BACK AND WHEN I STOPPED, TURNED, OR EVEN BEGAN TO TAKE OFF AGAIN I WOULD HEAR THIS RATTLING SOUND. I HAD TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF 150 SOMETHING DOLLARS. TEST-DROVE VEHICLE WITH MECHANIC BUT IT WAS VERY HARD TO DUPLICATE. THEY HAD VEHICLE 3 SEPARATE TIMES VEHICLE ENDED UP STAYING BY THE 3RD TIME WITH THEM FROM A THURSDAY TILL A TUESDAY I WAS TOLD IT WAS RUST ON THE SUB FRAME SHOCKED THAT FORD HAD A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR AND THAT THEY HAD TO REMOVE SOME TYPE OF BOLTS. SOUND WOULD BE GONE FOR A FEW DAYS BUT MAYBE SHAKE BACK LOOSE. SOUND NOW COMING FROM THE FRONT. I CALLED BACK TO THE 1ST DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER BASICALLY DON'T BRING IT BACK THERE IT IS A WASTE OF THEIR TIME BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE HE ASKED ME WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE BACK TO ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP. I MUST SAY EARLY ON INTO THE SITUATION I WROTE TO FORD BECAUSE I WAS VERY DISGUSTED THAT I HAD TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM TO FORD ALL THIS TIME AND WANTED MY FEE BACK. THEY TOLD ME SINCE IT WAS NOT FIXED AND THE 1ST DEALERSHIP COULD NOT REALLY FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG TAKE IT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP OF PURCHASE. I FOUND OUT THAT AGAIN I HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND I PRAY THAT THEY FIND OR HEAR SOMETHING DUE TO THE NOISE IS NOT HEARD ALL THE TIME. AGAIN, I AM OUT OF MORE MONEY. I DECIDED NOT TO WASTE ANYMORE TIME PAYING DIAGNOSTIC FEES AND MAYBE HOPE THE VEHICLE FALLS APART I FEEL LIKE I AM UP AGAINST A WALL I KNOW THIS IS MY LAST TIME DEALING WITH FORD TIME TO MOVE ON ESPECIALLY WITH THIS 36,000 MILE WARRANTY CRAP. 2010 FORD ESCAPE BACK HATCH AND WINDOW FAIL TO OPEN. THIS IS A KEYLESS WINDOW AND HATCH. FORD DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE 380.00 TO REPAIR. FORD DOES NOT HAVE A MANUAL OR SECONDARY SYSTEM TO OPEN THE BACK HATCH AND/OR WINDOW. THIS FAIL HAS RENDERED THE BACK PORTION OF THE ESCAPE USELESS. IN AN EMERGENCY, A SECONDARY MANUAL OPENING DEVICE FROM THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR NEEDS TO BE RETRO-FITTED, AFTER MARKET BY FORD. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, HAS NO INTEREST IN RESOLVING THIS OBVIOUS ENGINEERING BLUNDER. *TR
I WAS SHUTTING THE TAILGATE WHEN THE BACK GLASS JUST SHATTERED. IT WAS 15 DEGREES OUTSIDE. *TR
PURCHASED A 2010 FORD ESCAPE NEW, 4 MONTHS AFTER THE AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THEY CLAIMED IT COULD NOT BE FIXED BECAUSE IT WAS DAMAGED BY AN OBJECT MOST LIKELY FROM THE ROAD. DAMAGES ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SERVICE TECH WENT ON TO SAY THAT THE GRILL DOES NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION FOR THE AC CONDENSER THEREFORE EVEN IF I PAID TO HAVE IT FIXED AND DIDN'T REPLACE THE GRILL, IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN OVER 3 MONTHS AND FORD STILL REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. IT IS NOW ON AVERAGE 102 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND I CANNOT DRIVE MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE HEAT AND INABILITY TO USE THE AC. *TR
