the rear camera showed " unavailable" on the center display screen so I had to get this fixed and i paid $658.34 to get this fixed because the recall informational stated that "ford motor company is working to provide parts for this repair. when the remedy becomes available, ford motor company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge" i was unable to wait for this IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE's parts to "come available" - not even sure what that is supposed to mean, but i would like reimbursement for this expense and not sure how to go about it.

Rear view camera doesn't work. Ford just recalled a bunch of 2015-2019 vehicles for this exact issue but the escapes didnt get a recall. I have been having this issue for a few months now. The screen with go blue or black and then say no camera available.

Sunroof will not close and every time it rains it leaks so much to the point that it’s going to cause more electrical issues. I will not take this back to the Randy Marion dealership in west Jefferson NC they also sold me this car with a bad transmission which ended back up in the shop for 3 plus months. They were completely incompetent about handling the situation. So I will not go back to them. Also they sold this cat with seatbelts that are so lose if I were to have a wreck I would probably go through the windshield. They didn’t want to repair that without me handling the bill.

AND THE ENGINE LEAKS THESE ARE SERIOUS DEFECTS THAT (FORD) NEEDS TO FIX FOR THE OWNERS OF THIS (YEAR) IT'S COSTING $5,000 TO REPLACE FOR THE TRANSMISSION.. Check engine light went on and code P1450 for evaporative emissions purge valve. After refueling vehicle, it does not start without reving the engine at a high rate and still sometimes does not start. This is a common warranty item on many Fords during the time but not for this specific VIN

After getting gas in car wife started car and attempted to pull from gas pump. Steering was hard to steer and information light illuminated.(Steering assist fault Service required). This by some may not be considered a safety issue, but if it happens in heavy traffic this could be very serious to other drivers around you. Reading all the reports and seeing the other model years ford has recalled for steering. I believe that ford should issue a recall or at least reimburse owners for the cost of replacement.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at 35 MPH, when the accelerator pedal was depressed there was an abnormal sound and the vehicle independently shut down. The check engine warning light was intermittently illuminated. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle stalled. The failures occurred on several different occasions. The "Electrical Malfunction" message was displayed on the instrument panel and the Check Engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that after waiting for an hour, the vehicle restarted. The failure occurred on several different occasions; the infotainment screen had to be reset whenever the failure occurred. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle made an abnormal sound whenever the vehicle was in reverse. The Check Engine warning light was illuminated. The failure occurred on several different occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to get a diagnosis however, the contact stated that the failure was not diagnosed or repaired; The contact stated that the independent mechanic gave a diagnosis stating that the water pump needed to be replaced and repaired the vehicle however, the contact was concerned that the failures that had occurred was not diagnosed or repaired. With no warning, car suddenly refused to start after parking it for a brief errand. Jump starting had no effect (battery was healthy and fully charged). Keys would switch instrument cluster on but cluster would go dark when key was turned to start position or when shifter release was pulled. After reviewing YouTube, other owners found that the 50A mega fuse connected to the fuel pump and BCM (yellow wire) would degrade to the point that its internal connection would become intermittent. This causes intermittent no-start condition and could result in the vehicle shutting off while being driven on the road. Rapping on the front panel of the battery box can temporarily reconnect the internal failure of the fuse and allow the car to start.

My backup camera glitches and my APMI module has gone out, which was diagnosed by Ford. I’ve seen this is an issue with other Ford models as well, however there are no active recalls for my VIN. The Airbag light is also on.

I was driving this car down the road 50mph when the engine turned off. The dash board indicated no rpm, no warning lights and to shift the car into park. When I rolled safely to a stop, the engine would not crank over with the key and none of the dash board warning lights were on. The issue with this was the 50a BCM fuse #9 opened but did not blow. Wiggling the main wires by the battery caused the BCM to regain power and the car restarted. The fuse was replaced for the repair.

As I was driving my car started to jerk, drag backwards and stop. I put it in park in the middle of the road and turned the car completely off. It would start and drive, then jerk, try to slide backwards again then stopped. The car starts, but the shift freezes after try to go.

The cars electrical system has failed multiple times while driving leading to no headlights , brake lights and all other electrical components. we have had vehicle serviced by multiple different mechanics including ford dealership however problem persists shortly after repair each time. vehicle does not display any forewarning of failure such as no check engine lights or any indication that anything is wrong. all services and inspections show nothing is wrong however vehicle service records show electrical system and battery serviced/changed multiple time due to reoccurring problem. manufacturer says that our vin is not included in the recall however vehicle has all same issues as recalls from May 2014 to July 2015 .Vehicle was manufactured April 04,2015. how are vehicle does not fall under any of these recalls is beyond my understanding , at this point in time vehicle does not run due to multiple mechanics being unable to pin point or fix electrical issues. Would like vehicle reinspected for any of these recalls and car fixed and safe to drive.

My cluster panel went dead and there was a recall for it but the first owner got it fixed and ford wouldn’t do it for me. I couldn’t afford to get it fixed and so it stayed dead. My car eventually broke down on me while driving because I was unable to read the transmission fault warning (because the cluster panel doesn’t work). I just had to buy a whole new transmission and ford is still refusing to fix their failed recall. Had it been taken care of, I would have seen the warning and not drove my car until it broke down.

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden my vehicle lurched forward despite me depressing the brakes then would not shift into any gear or move at all. I turned the vehicle off waited 10 minutes and attempted to restart the vehicle so that I could move into a safer area out of traffic. The vehicle began shaking and would not go into gear but did roll enough that I was able to move out of the way of incoming traffic. There were no warning lights displayed on the dash and the vehicle was not malfunctioning prior to the event. The other issue has been that the backup camera repeatedly fails to function at all. Instead the screen is either blue or black and no images are visible.

During a recent incident, my vehicle's power steering suddenly failed, rendering the car extremely difficult to maneuver. The lack of power steering made it nearly impossible for me to maintain a straight line, let alone perform any evasive maneuvers to avoid potential hazards on the road. Fortunately, this incident occurred in a drive-thru, and my children were not present in the vehicle at the time. I dread to think of the consequences if this failure had happened while driving at higher speeds or in a more critical situation. Upon taking my car to the Ford dealership for inspection and repair, I was shocked to learn that the power steering issue is not covered under my warranty. The dealership informed me that because my vehicle has exceeded 60,000 miles and is now over four years old, it falls outside the warranty coverage. I find it deeply troubling that Ford refuses to acknowledge the obvious flaw in the design of the car's power steering system, especially when comparable Ford models such as the 2011-2013 Fusion have been recalled for the exact same issue. The back up camera started appearing upside down at times or black. Then it was constant upside down for a couple weeks so we were co sidering flupping tje camera but it switched to a normal view for about a week or 2 and now it is usually upside down. This can be a safety issue. It's hard to not look at a camera that you're used to using and it's right in front of you. I know other models were re alled so this should also be recalled. I called the dealer and they said they would fix it for around $900 so it's not fixed

2015 Ford Escape, on several occasions after fueling, when pushing start, the car cranks but no start and shuts off. It took several attempts, with revving it up and, sputtering and shutting off before it cranked. No check engine indicator illuminated. There have been instances where the car parked in driveway and the same occurrence with it sputtering and shutting off. Currently at Ford dealership, diagnosed as canister purge valve. I contacted Ford reference recall, there are over a million recalls on Ford Focus for this same issue-canister purge valve, but none for Ford Escape.

My car caught on fire While it was parked. I contacted ford ford had no knowledge of fires in the car. Come to find out. It's all over the internet that there are fires in the ecoboost fuel system. They are refusing to fix the car. I am disabled and I feel like they are taking advantage of me because of that. I had an extended warranty even at the same time which obviously meant nothing. This is a great injustice and I really really really really really need help. I have tried everywhere. Please help me.

Rack and pinion went out at 66,000 miles. I have send reviews on this make and model that this is a problem. I have talked to multiple mechanics who have adv this is an electric problem in these cars and with different years.

The Sync system in my vehicle no longer works properly. This makes me unable to connect my phone to the bluetooth and use my phone handsfree. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent center. I did however replace the fuse that powers the sync system and even disconnected my battery to perform a hard restart on the system and it still does not work. The sync first failed about 3 weeks ago.

I was driving on the highway 3 weeks ago and the dashboard turned off including the radio and there was no electricity inside the vehicle. Then a couple of minutes the power came back on. On 10/15/22 I got stranded at the border of San Ysidro because I had to turn off the car, I had to be pushed by the CBP Officers, since it was pass midnight (Sunday 10/16/22) I was waiting to be towed (magically the power came back on after almost 3hrs) and I was able to drive home. I took my car to Firestone, and they couldn't fix the problem, my car has been at the Ford dealership since Monday and finally after 4 days they know what the problem is, there is an issue in the network wiring to the BCM (Body Control Module). They still going to figure out the root of the problem. The dashboard turned off w/o warning no lights, no problems before.

2015 Ford Escape. Electronic automatic power steering failed in traffic taking 90year old to the doctor. Had it towed. After restarting car the steering worked. Been happening randomly but last week 3times in one afternoon. Ford dealer replaced defective parts. Said there is a recall for older models. Why not 2015? It was a moving safety hazard that Ford should have rectified before we were put at risk. The repair cost us $3100. Been reading other 2015 Escape owners have had similar incidents.

I went to start my vehicle and the digital screen on the dash does not work. This is the screen with the digital speedometer, odometer, miles driven and many other digital readouts connected to a “cluster” of wiring within the dash. This is a problem that could not be prevented by me, and is the fault of a faulty manufacturing piece. There is a blank space in the dash where the readouts were. This piece is definitely a safety hazard and should be replaced by Ford. Local dealer told me it was out of warranty therefore my responsibility.

There seems to be a issue with the 2013 and 2014 model years combusting suddenly but, I think they need to include the 2015 model.

The instrument panel on my vehicle, where the speed and fuel level and other important informational messages and displays are, have lines spreading horizonatally blocking information and the lighting is completely dimmed. The panel where the backup camera displays has the same lines running horizontally and dimmed . It is unsafe for me to drive my vehicle if I don't know the speed and other important information displayed. I called Ford company and was told that this particular VIN did not have a recall therefore it is my responsibility.

A PASSERBY MADE THE ELDERLY OCCUPANTS OF HOME AWARE OF THE FIRE AND THEY WERE ABLE TO GET OUT. THE AREA OF FIRE ORIGIN WAS IDENTIFIED AS BEING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THERE APPEARS TO BE SOME OTHER EVIDENCE AND/OR INSTANCES OF FIRES IN THESE VEHICLES OCCURRING THE SAME WAY.

THE POSITIVE CABLE THAT ATTACHES TO THE BATTERY IS VERY RIGID - IT DOES NOT ALLOW THE FREE MOVEMENT OF THE BATTERY. AS I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES. WITH MINUTES, I HAVE NOW POWER TO THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE CAR BATTERY IS DEAD COMPLETELY. THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR CHECKS OUT FINE. ONCE THE BATTERY HAS BEEN FULLY CHARGED, THE BATTERY LIGHT GOES OFF. THE NEXT DAY, SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED. I AM STRANDED BOTH TIMES. I CALL THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT, ASHEVILLE FORD, TO HAVE THEM TOW IN TO LOOK AT IT. THEY ARE TOO BUSY AND LOOK AT IT FOR 2+ WEEKS. I HAVE TO CALL A DEALER 40 MILES AWAY FROM ME AND HAVE IT TOWED TO THEM. WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPT. THAT IT IS A COMMON COMPLAINT AND THEY NEED TO 'FLASH' OR RE- SET THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AT A 200$ COST TO ME. THIS IS INFURIATING.

I HAVE OWNED MY 2015 ESCAPE SINCE MARCH 2016. BEGINNING 6 WEEKS AGO THE CAR FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THE FORD KEY. HAD CAR TOWED. TOLD BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED BOTH CAR AND KEY FOB BATTERIES. WITHIN 7 DAYS THE CAR REFUSED TO START AFTER SITTING IN THE GARAGE FOR 3 DAYS. HAD TO GET IT TOWED AND THE BATTERY RECHARGED. THIRD TIME THE CAR REFUSED TO START IT HAD BEEN DRIVEN AND THEN LEFT SITTING FOR 5 DAYS. ONCE AGAIN HAD TO HAVE A JUMP START. TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP AND TOLD DIAGNOSTIC INFO STATES NO ISSUES. TECHNICIAN IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CAR REFUSING TO RECOGNIZE KEY FOB OR NOT STARTING. EXPLAINED THAT CAR ONCE JUMPED STARTED RUNS FINE AS LONG AS I DRIVE IT DAY TO DAY. ONCE IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 2 OR MORE DAYS DOES IT AGAIN REFUSE TO START. APPEARS THAT SOMETHING SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS PULLING ALL THE JUICE OUT OF THE BATTERY REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE ONBOARD COMPUTER SAYS. SECOND ISSUE WITH THIS CAR HAS BEEN THE REAR HATCH. TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE REAR HINGES AND SAID THEY ARE BENT SO WHEN YOU CLOSE THE HATCH USING THE BUTTON ON THE HATCH OR KEY FOB, HATCH COMES DOWN BUT WON'T LATCH TIGHT AND GOES BACK OPEN. IF YOU MANUALLY SLAM THE HATCH SHUT, THE LATCH SEEMED TO BE TIGHT HOWEVER MY HATCH IS NOT SQUARE ANYMORE. IT IS TIGHT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT HAS A 1/4 GAP ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHICH LETS IN AIR AND WATER INTO THE CAR. TOLD THAT I'D NEED TO HAVE A BODY SHOP TAKE THE HATCH OFF AND REPLACE BOTH HINGES. THIS CAR HAS NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT NOR HAS IT BEEN TREATED ROUGHLY SO EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THE HATCH GOT OUT OF ALIGNMENT TO THE POINT IT IS CAUSING ISSUES WITH SHUTTING TIGHTLY? THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW WHERE THE HINGES INSTALLED ARE TOO LIGHT WEIGHT TO STAND UP TO NORMAL WEAR AND USAGE. LIVING IN THE UPPER MIDWEST THIS CAR IS EXPOSED TO WINTER WEATHER INCLUDING SALT AND ROAD SAND WHICH IN TURN CAN GET INTO OPEN SPACES AND RUST.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (COGGIN FORD IN JACKSONVILLE, 9650 ATLANTIC BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32225) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY NEXT TO MY TRUCK WHICH DID NOT RECEIVE ANY DAMAGE. I HAVE BECOME AWARE OF THREE OTHER INCIDENTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM. RESEARCH INDICATES FORD HAS SWITCH TO A SUCROSE BASED INSULATION WHICH ATTRACTS RODENTS. I HAVE ALSO SEEN A ADVERTISEMENT FOR DUCT TAPE WITH RODENT REPELLENT TO STICK OVER THE INSULATION.

PURCHASED 2015 FORD ESCAPE ON MAY 1, 2015. IN FEBRUARY OF 2016 THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID AND PUMP STOPPED WORKING. TOOK TO FORD DEALER WHO SAID THAT RODENTS HAD CHEWED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINES AND PUMP AREA ELECTRICAL. MADE REPAIR. NOW, DECEMBER 2016 I TRIED TO USE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID TO FIND THAT IT HAD ONCE AGAIN BEEN CHEWED. I HAVE BEEN PARKING MULTIPLE VEHICLES (NEW AND USED) IN THE SAME DRIVEWAY SINCE 1989 WITH NO ISSUES. RODENTS HAVE CHEWED THE SOUND BARRIER MATERIAL IN THE FRONT WHEEL WELLS AS WELL AS THE WIPER FLUID LINES, ETC. AND MADE A NEST IN THE WHEEL WELL.

ON 8-8-16 7-30-16 DROVE CAR OUT OF GARAGE APPROXIMATELY 7:30 AM AT 3:30 PM, THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. JUMP STARTED THE CAR TO PUT BACK INTO GARAGE. CALLED FORD DEALER AND GOT AN EARLIER APPT. ON 8-1-16 (CHARGED BATTERY 6 HRS WITH BATTERY CHARGER) EACH TIME, THE BATTERY HAD TO BE JUMPED TO START THE CAR. SOMETHING IN THE SYSTEM IS DRAINING THE BATTERY COMPLETELY. THE CAR WAS PARKED INSIDE MY GARAGE EACH TIME THAT THIS OCCURRED. IT ALWAYS HAPPENED IN THE AM WHEN I WENT TO START THE CAR WITH THE EXCEPTION ON 7-30-16, IT WAS PARKED OUTSIDE IN THE DRIVEWAY AND DIED THERE DURING MID DAY. PURCHASED A PORTABLE BATTERY JUMP STARTER FROM SEARS ($125.00) TO STAY IN THE VEHICLE.

I WAS DRIVING IN MAINE. I'M NOT SURE IF I HIT A PATCH OF ICE OR IF THE STEERING FROZE UP. I WAS TRAVELING 35 IN A 40 MPH ZONE AND ON A CURVE, THE VEHICLE VEERED OFF THE ROAD INTO A BOG. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SINK AND I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR A FEW MINUTES. THEN I NOTICED A FLAME COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. IT TOOK ALL OF MY STRENGTH BUT I PUSHED THE DOOR OPEN AND BEGAN SWIMMING AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. AS I WAS ABOUT 20 FEET FROM THE VEHICLE, IT EXPLODED. I WAS IN THE WATER AND ICE FOR APPROX. 10 MINUTES. THE FIRE DEPT, POLICE, AND EMT'S ARRIVED AND PULLED ME FROM THE WATER AND TOOK ME TO THE HOSPITAL. I HAVE 2ND DEGREE BURNS ON MY ARM AND LEGS. MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAS DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS AND THE ADJUSTER SAID THE ONLY THING THAT COULD BE SALVAGED WAS 1/2 OF MY LICENSE PLATE. I ASKED WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS AND THE ADJUSTER SAID THAT PERHAPS IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND WATER MIXED WITH THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FIRE. ALTHOUGH HE DID STATE THAT HE WAS SPECULATING AND HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE AND EXPLOSION. THE VEHICLE IS SITTING AND I HAVE ASKED THAT IT NOT BE DESTROYED (WHAT'S LEFT OF IT) UNTIL THE CAUSE CAN BE DETERMINED. THIS CONCERNS ME GREATLY BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. SYMPTOM: FUSE FOR INTERIOR LIGHTS, INCLUDING GEAR INDICATOR ON SHIFT, CONTROLS IN STEERING WHEEL, FAILS. ISSUE BEGAN 2ND MONTH OF OWNERSHIP 2/2015. 4TH INCIDENT ON 9/17/15 BROUGHT MY ATTENTION TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES PERTAINING TO ALL INSTANCES LEADING TO FAILURE OF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FUSE. INCIDENT: TRAVELING AT 55 MPH WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF A 5 LANE HIGHWAY, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM ACCELERATOR. I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR WITHIN A FEW SECONDS AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, DASH BOARD, GAUGES, EVERYTHING SHUT THEMSELVES OFF AND THEN EVERY GAUGE AND WARNING LIGHT LIT UP, BUT NO ENGINE. I MOVED THE GEAR SELECTOR INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED THE KEY TO OFF WITHOUT LOCKING THE STEERING WHEEL, AND TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT DID NOT RESTART. I MADE MY ACROSS 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER, STOPPED THE CAR, PUT INTO PARK AND TURNED THE CAR ALL THE WAY OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS NO LONGER WORKED. THE CAR RESTARTED AND I DROVE ON. I REALIZED THAT EVERY TIME THE FUSE FOR THE INTERIOR LIGHTS HAS FAILED, IT WAS AFTER THE CAR HAD SHUT ITSELF OFF, ALL ELECTRICAL LIGHTS AND WARNING LIGHTS HAD GONE OFF AND THEN ALL WARNING LIGHTS AND LIGHTS, EXCEPT INTERIOR LIGHTS CAME BACK ON, REQUIRING TURNING THE KEY TO OFF ENGAGING THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK AND RESTARTING THE CAR. IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR EVALUATION. THE 3 PREVIOUS TIMES, THE FORD DEALERS' (2 DIFFERENT DEALERS) SERVICE DEPARTMENT TECHNICIANS HAVE NOT FOUND A CAUSE FOR THE FUSE FAILURE.

LET CAR SIT IN DRIVEWAY FOR HOURS TO SEE IF SOMETHING WOULD RESET. IT DID NOT WORK. UNPLUGGED BATTERY AND LET CAR SIT ANOTHER 30 MINUTES. DID NOT RESET. TOMORROW THE CAR GOES BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE NEW 2015 FORD ESCAPE TITANIUM 4 WHEEL DRIVE 1.6 ONLY 1069 MILES AND I AM HAVING LEMON ISSUES!
