The transmission just failed. No warning lights or anything. I was just driving along and it started to flutter then it hesitated and went into limp mode. Took it to the shop and it they said it needs a whole new transmission.

the rear camera showed " unavailable" on the center display screen so I had to get this fixed and i paid $658.34 to get this fixed because the recall informational stated that "ford motor company is working to provide parts for this repair. when the remedy becomes available, ford motor company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge" i was unable to wait for this IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE's parts to "come available" - not even sure what that is supposed to mean, but i would like reimbursement for this expense and not sure how to go about it.

I literally almost hit a family passing at grocery store because of this. I bought this car this year in February from Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet. Backup camera - this vehicle not included in the recall as is having all the same issues blank screen - inverted screen - works sometimes - this has been an issue for some time and I contacted the ford dealer I use who states the repair is over 400. and do not know why this vehicle has not been included in the recall.

My stereo screen went blank and I had a new stereo installed but was told the rear camera in my vehicle is defective and was under recall. When I checked with Ford, I was advised my particular vehicle did not qualify. Also, my instrument panel just went blank. This is a serious safety issue as I cannot see my milage or what gear I'm in. This vehicle needs to be a part of the ongoing recall for rear view camera and the dash should be looked into further as well

This complaint form is in regards to the backup camera. In the last six months I had intermittent loss of its function while backing up. However the problem in the last month is now a persistent loss of the image when backing up. It may function at the start of going in reverse, then all of the sudden it will go out. This is scary for the first thought is you hit something, even if you didn't hear any noise. I greatly rely on the camera for I always try to back into parking spots. It will happen in any type weather, sometimes the screen just does not change, other times it may just be black, and other times will have a yellow triangle warning that it is not working properly. I have not had any incidents or accidents which may have caused the camera to malfunction.

The rear back up camera is malfunctioning/not working intermittently. Sometimes it works, and then glitches out and is gone, other times it is a completely black screen. This started approximately 4-6 weeks ago. It says "Camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership". I have since seen that 1.5M Ford vehicles are being recalled for this exact issue, but my car is not on the list. I've called Ford and the Dealership, and they've said I will have to have it diagnosed and pay out of pocket. It's oddly peculiar that this would be the same issue, and it just started at the same time of the recall. This has put others at risk because I cannot see them behind me, the car is not alerting me to people behind me, and I have gotten used to that function. I have to check to see if the camera is working, and then make sure to look behind, but even then it is hard to see. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone just yet. I am hesitant to take to dealer, as I will be without car for 2 days and have to pay the diagnostic fee, and potentially repair fee. There were no warning messages or other symptoms. One day it just started glitching.

The backup camera in my vehicle displays an inverted and distorted image, identical to the defect described in Ford’s existing recall. However, my vehicle has been excluded from that recall, and Ford has refused to repair the issue. This defect creates a significant safety hazard by impairing rear visibility and making backing up more dangerous. Because federal law requires a functional backup camera in this type of vehicle, I believe my vehicle should be included in the recall and repaired by Ford.

When one of my back up lights went out it shorted out the back up video camera. After replacement, found out from Ford that the wiring of the lighting is tied also into the video camera system. After replacement the camera shorts out and is not replaceable.

I own a 2015 Ford Escape. The rearview backup camera intermittently fails when I first start the vehicle. Each time I put the car in reverse shortly after startup, the screen displays the message: “Camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership.” After driving for several minutes, the camera usually begins working again. This is a safety concern because the camera is not available when I first back out of parking spaces, driveways, or other areas where pedestrians, children, or other vehicles may be present. The failure is unpredictable, and the camera is supposed to be a safety device to prevent accidents while reversing. The issue seems to worsen in hot weather, but it has happened on multiple occasions regardless of temperature. I have researched and found that other Ford owners report similar issues with backup cameras failing intermittently. Since rearview cameras are federally mandated safety equipment, I believe this problem should be investigated for a possible recall.

While driving recently, my vehicle unexpectedly lost all forward acceleration. Soon after, I discovered that when placed in Park, the vehicle could still roll freely — a dangerous condition that could lead to an accident or injury. Initially, the car was able to move in both Drive and Reverse for a short time, but it quickly deteriorated to only reversing, and then the Park function failed to hold the vehicle altogether. I have maintained my Escape according to Ford’s recommendations and have records available. There were no warning lights, no unusual noises beforehand, and no indication that such a failure was imminent. This is not just a mechanical failure but a significant safety hazard, as loss of acceleration and loss of Park lock can put drivers, passengers, and bystanders at risk.

My 2015 Ford Escape, VIN [XXX], equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, has experienced a repeat engine failure due to what appears to be the known “coolant intrusion” defect currently under active litigation (Miller v. Ford). The original engine failed due to loss of coolant into the cylinders, causing rough idle, misfires, abnormal engine noise, and loss of performance. Ford replaced the entire engine under warranty approximately 24.5 months ago. The replacement engine is now exhibiting the same symptoms, including: Rough/unstable idle, especially on startup Abnormally loud engine noise Suspected internal coolant loss with no visible external leaks Reduced performance and hesitation This is the second major engine failure in a short time, creating a serious safety concern due to potential sudden loss of power while driving. The EcoBoost coolant intrusion defect is widely reported in Ford Escapes from this model year and is the subject of a class action lawsuit. Ford has not issued a recall for all affected vehicles, leaving owners at risk of repeated engine failures. I am submitting this complaint to document the repeat failure, as it poses a risk to safe operation and may affect other vehicles on the road. The shift cable bushing on my 2015 Ford Escape failed, causing the gear shifter to appear in "Park" when the transmission was actually in a different gear. This posed a significant safety risk, as the vehicle could roll unexpectedly. The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by a certified Ford dealership. They stated the failure was due to a coolant hose leak affecting the bushing, but this seems questionable since this exact bushing has been recalled previously for premature degradation (Ford recalls 18S20 and 22S25). I experienced the same symptoms reported in the recall: gear position not matching the shifter, difficulty engaging Park, and the potential for the car to roll. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. I had to pay for the repair out of pocket, even though this appears to be the same defect covered in the recall. The part is no longer available for inspection, as it was replaced during the repair.

Sunroof will not close and every time it rains it leaks so much to the point that it’s going to cause more electrical issues. I will not take this back to the Randy Marion dealership in west Jefferson NC they also sold me this car with a bad transmission which ended back up in the shop for 3 plus months. They were completely incompetent about handling the situation. So I will not go back to them. Also they sold this cat with seatbelts that are so lose if I were to have a wreck I would probably go through the windshield. They didn’t want to repair that without me handling the bill.

Catastrophic Hood Latch Assembly breakage. Assembly came off car. The Hood then flew back onto windshield completely destroying it. Safety Latch was also detached. Hood latch Assembly was on top of motor after car was stopped. There were no warnings lamps, messages or any other symptoms of this problem prior to failure. The car has not been inspected by anyone yet, but there are photos showing the damage and the parts are also available for inspection. Safety concerns: Hood coming back on to windshield due to this parts failure could cause catastrophic injuries or death especially at interstate speeds.

I have a problem with paint fading on the top of my vehicle of which I called Ford Motor Company and they referred me to contact NHTSA. I believe this is a Ford problem to work with me about this issue. The fading out is in pattern which is very unusual. I have had two other Ford vehicles longer than this one and more mileage and did have any problems with paint. Ford is claiming that I had five years to report this; however this started a few months ago. I will appreciate any assistance or guidance that you can offer me with this issue. Ford also stated that this was not a recall issue. Whether or not this paint was not a recall list or not it does indicate that the paint is defective from the factory.. Again, I welcome any suggestions or guidance with this matter. Back Up Camera, I have reported it before several times and was given a #OD11583257 it's been over 6-9 months and still have heard back absolutely nothing from anyone and was told someone would contact me, it's very dangerous and have had many close calls. When I told the Ford location that I bought it, they told me there were other 2015 Ford Escapes that had been recalled with the same problem but my VIN number was NOT one of them, I don't understand and would like to have it fixed - so how do I go about that.. I was stopped at a stop light and when it turned green and I stepped on the gas the engin reved up but the car would not move. I looked down to see if the gear shift had been moved and when I saw it had not I stepped on the gas again and this time slowly moved and then jerked to a stop. I stepped on the gas again and it started rolling and the spead up so that it peeled out and then jerked to a stop again. I was right by a Les Swab and very slowly was able to pull into their parking lot. I had just had my breaks done and thought maybe something went wrong with them. They checked and said it was the transmission. I was afraid to try to drive it so I towed it home. After seeing other Ford Escape transmissions haveing issues and being recalled I wanted to report this. It sounds just like the complaints that are listed for the recalled transmissions. After checking with a local transmission shop they told me they had replaced 3 of these transmissions in the last month. So I know a lot of people do not look into this kind of stuff but I want someone to know this was very scary for me and if there had been another car close to me there could have been a accident.

Vehicle was inspected by third party shop and a Ford Dealership. Both indicated that this is a manufacturer error and should be considered a recall. Lots of different Ford models have experienced this manufacturing error and this issue was considered a recall. This includes: 2015-2018 Ford Edge 2017-2019 Fusion/MKZ 2017-2019 Escape 2017-2019 MKC My 2015 Ford Escape is built incredibly similar or the exact same as these other models and since it is experiencing the same issue as these other models, the recall should extend to mine and be covered under Ford as a recall. Climate Control Housing is broken. Air will not come out of the face vents. This caused me to overheat because the AC could not cool me off while driving. Even with AC coming out of the feet and defrost vents, it was not able to cool my car off enough to be a comfortable temperature. A dealer and an auto shop both said this is a known issue.

Ford has not fixed the recall or offered a solution resulting in our car's transmission shift cable breaking while my wife was driving, resulting in her being STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET blocking traffic. The car was stuck in the middle of the street blocking traffic and buses for about an hour until a tow truck could come. We could not shift the vehicle out of park - the shifter moved freely forward and back, while depressing the shift button, but without *actually* shifting to neutral, drive, or reverse. We could not move the car at all, despite pushing or trying to shift it. This occurred in front of our home on Friday, April 19th, 2024. A tow truck towed the vehicle to our local repair shop where they identified the broken transmission shift cable and repaired it which we paid out of pocket. This could have occurred anywhere or in a dangerous intersection with the potential to cause harm to her, others, or any of her passengers like our infant son. I was notified of this recall in 2022 by a Ford dealership and have yet to see a resolution. My concern is now that the replacement Ford transmission shift cable will exhibit the same problem as before unless they make a better cable or mechanism! This also cost us over 5 hours of labor equaling $546 + parts, which we should not have to pay for. Ford should cover this cost completely and give us a reliable transmission shift cable.

I drove at 60 MPH during rush hour on a very crowded highway. I tried to accelerate, but I was losing speed. My RPM was working, but I was not accelerating. I took my foot off the accelerator and tried again, and then the car accelerated briefly (without continuous pressure--it accelerated without me--- and again lost power. I had nowhere to stop. I got off at a ramp one mile away, coasting at 17 MPH. The "Transmission Fault" warning appeared as we entered a gas station. $190.00 tow bill. Our mechanic of 18 years diagnosed total transmission failure. My car has been well cared for, with recommended check-ups/oil changes. There were zero warning signs of trouble. The mechanic recommended this car be evaluated by a Ford dealership. The approximate cost from the Ford dealership is $6000.00. This was a VERY very dangerous situation with children in the car in rush hour traffic on a highway. I have 91,163 miles on the car with a total transmission failure.

vehicle "slips" with acceleration and antifreeze is leaking in engine block which is a documented recurrent issue with ecoboost engine. I am fearful for safety as noted fire hazard which has been stated in past and is documented as part of lawsuit for same engine in Canada/US. Additionally the noted loss of acceleration has me afraid to use on highway as can see this leading to accident (noted that other cars drive around vehicle when forced to use on side streets. I brought to ford dealership o/a March 2023 (Sedano Ford, La Mesa CA) and they quoted over 10k to fix the safety issue and stated Ford will not do anything to assist when I stated that thought should be fixed as safety issue and latent defect that known by manufacturer when under warranty and pretty sure before bought vehicle . As this is latent defect, belief is that ford should fix vehicle to ensure it is safe to operate and reliable as would not have bought vehicle if known of issues . Additionally called Ford customer service dept. to see if would assist with issue o/a Aug 2023 which informed that issue was not covered and no record of issue... PLEASE FIX MY VEHICLE TO ENSURE SAFE TRANSPORTATION The contact stated that antifreeze is leaking into cylinder 3 and after dealership checked the vehicle they confirmed that more than just spark plug needed to be replaced.

While my family and I were returning from lunch and pulling into a parking space at my moms apartment complex, my 2015 Ford escape SE eco-boost, had a sudden unintentional acceleration where it basically accelerated forward and we hit a building. During this, the brakes were unresponsive, and there was building and vehicle damage. Luckily, the post to the building prevented us from driving through the entire building. I have read several reports of the Ford escape experiencing this exact problem. We are lucky we were not killed. Ford has had no recalls for this very deadly issue.

When driving on the freeway The car all of the sudden stop indicating TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. It had a recall 22S43/NTHSA22V413 and suppose Ford fix it but its doing it again. On July 7, 2023 [XXX] told me to take it back but as of July 25, 2023 still have not been fixed. The past 3 days i been calling [XXX] but he does not answer my calls. Unsuccessful correction of recall of instrument panel. The panel flickered shortly after we purchased in 2018 and have been told by Ford dealer the manufacturer replaced with the same part that was malfunctioning. They will only attempt to correct the problem one time. The same bad fix was applied to the recall. I feel like I have to 'tip toe' so to speak driving this car. There's no way to know how many miles the car has been driven, or other information as it is all blank.

My Vin#[XXX] Making me pay for recall items is illegal and they should be prosecuted. IMHO Where can I go to have the recall items fixed without having to pay for them? I was unable to accelerate and was able to "limp" to the side of the road. Very scary and VERY dangerous. My child and I are lucky something worse did not happen. Root cause lack of coolant circulation resulting in the engine overheating. This possibly has caused a crack in the cylinder head, resulting in a pressurized oil leak that, in the presence of a heat source such as a hot engine surface, increases the risk of an under-hood fire. Through research, I found this is a known issue with my vehicle and besides a limited recall (of which my VIN is excluded) there is a class action pending in California. I contact FORD customer service and its answer was my VIN isn't included in the recall so nothing they could do. When I brought up on FORD's knowledge and request for someone in its escalation team to call me, they said a supervisor would call and the customer service supervisor said- my issue because my VIN not included in the recall. There have been 30+ cases of engine fires related to this issue and hundreds if not thousands of FORD owners affected. How is the NHTSA not taking action? This is very dangerous and a very expensive cost to consumers who were misled by FORD to purchase these dangerous lemons. This is a dangerous defect that FORD has known about for years. They are refusing to fix the car. I am disabled and I feel like they are taking advantage of me because of that. I had an extended warranty even at the same time which obviously meant nothing. The bushing to my vehicle unattached itself while I was in the car and my 6 year old child. The car continued to roll forward although I tried to hold the brakes down and it would not go into park. I had to use the emergency brakes to keep the vehicle from continuing to roll forward. I looked up a recall for my vehicle but it has no remedy to the issue. It has not completely stalled but feels very close to it. i had brought it in in the past and they had never found anything wrong with it. It does not always happen. Second problem- the rear view back up assistance has not been working properly for over 3 years. I will be in reverse and either the beeping continues even though nothing is around or, the screen goes blank and shuts off. I was told this would be at my expense, not a recall. this does not happen all the time but is very often.

The transmission shift cable bushing on my 2015 Ford Escape deteriorated and failed. The car indicates that it is in PARK but it is actually in gear and will roll freely but can not be cranked. There has been a recall for this exact same problem on the 2013 and 2014 versions of this same vehicle as well as some other Ford vehicles. Why does it not include the 2015 model year?

Ecoboost failed. Car would not accelerate while I was on a highway. Car went from 67 mph down to 35. There was no notice of the dramatic change in speed for the cars behind me. I was almost rear-ended.

I started noticing coolant leakage. Then while driving I have been getting a warning say “engine to hot stop vehicle immediately safely.” Then from there it would go into another warning. This 1 saying “vehicle will not operate at full power.” And the car would not go past 40mhp. I was thinking of fixing myself and started to research parts. I then came across this class action suit against Ford and my vehicle for the same issue I’m having and how it is causing engine fires. DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY TIRES SLIPPED AND TRIED TO KICK ON TRACTION CONTROL BUT INSTEAD DISABLED MY DRIVING UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER AND STOP. WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE IN OUR 2015 FORD ESCAPE TITANIUM, WE BEGAN TO EXIT AND FOUND WE HAD NO BRAKES. WE HAD TO UTILIZE THE PARKING BRAKE IN ORDER TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP. WE TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE POWER ASSIST HAD FAILED BECAUSE THE VACUUM PUMP LOCKED UP CAUSING THE CAM DRIVE TO BREAK INSIDE THE CAM SHAFT. THIS ALSO CAUSED METAL SHAVING CONTAMINATION IN THE ENGINE OF THE CAR WHICH CAN CAUSE THE MOTOR TO LOCK UP AT ANY TIME WITHOUT WARNING. OUR RESEARCH REVEALED THAT A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM IN THE 2013 FORD ESCAPE; HOWEVER, THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ISSUED FOR THE 2015 FORD ESCAPE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN FLAW/FAULTY PARTS ISSUE THAT STILL HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING; BUT THEY REFUSED AND ALSO REFUSED TO LET US SPEAK TO SOMEONE ELSE REGARDING THIS. SO, WE ARE STUCK WITH A $2,200 CAR REPAIR BILL ON A 4 1/2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH 74,000 MILES THAT FORD KNOWS IS AN ISSUE BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. THIS DOESN'T INCLUDE POSSIBLY A NEW MOTOR IF IT LOCKS UP DUE TO THE METAL SHAVING CONTAMINATION. THE BRAKES FAILING UNEXPECTEDLY WAS A SAFETY HAZARD AND NOW WE HAVE ANOTHER POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD IF THE MOTOR LOCKS UP WHILE WE ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.

I STOPPED AT A LOCAL MECHANICS SHOP AND WAS TOLD TO GO TO A FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THERE ARE "SILENT" RECALLS. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL BUT I MANAGED TO STOP AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE, EXPLAINED WHAT WAS HAPPENING, AND IT WAS SUGGESTED PUTTING FUEL INJECTOR IN, WHICH I PURCHASED AT THE TIME THAN FILLED MY GAS TANK UP. FORD DEALER DISCOVERED IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BUSHING FOR THE SHIFTER CABLE, WHICH IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND ALREADY PART OF A SAFETY RECALL FOR 2013-2014 FORD ESCAPES BUT NOT 2015. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO 2015 ESCAPES AS WELL.

THE TINY PIECE THAT CONNECTS THE SHIFTING CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION BROKE. I HAD THE CABLE REPLACED ($900 REPAIR) AND THE PLASTIC PIECE BROKE AGAIN ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER. THE PLASTIC PIECE IS NOT MADE TO BE REPLACE MEANING THE WHOLE CABLE MUST BE REPLACED SO THE ENGINE MUST BE LIFTED OUT FOR THE REPAIR. THIS CABLE MAKES THE GEAR SHIFTER INSIDE THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY MOVE THE GEAR ARM INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN IT BREAKS THE CARE CAN'T BE SHIFTED INTO PARK, DRIVE, NEUTRAL, ETC. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. WHEN IT BROKE THE FIRST TIME I WAS IN A VERY TIGHT PARKING GARAGE BACKING OUT OF THE SPACE I WAS PARKED IN. I THEN TRIED TO SHIFT THE GEAR TO DRIVE SO I COULD PULL OUT AND THE PLASTIC PIECE BROKE. I BLOCKED THE WHOLE PARKING GARAGE EXIT FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR WHILE I WAITED ON A TOW TRUCK. IT WAS A NIGHT MARE BECAUSE WE COULDN'T EVEN GET THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE WAY. MY CAR IS A 2015 IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BROKEN IN THE SAME PLACE 2 TIMES IN LESS THAN A MONTH. WITH NO WARNING MY 2015 EDGE SPORT, WITH ONLY 20,700 MILES, SUDDENLY LOST POWER (DIED) AND A LIGHTED WRENCH APPEARED ON DASHBOARD WITH"'HILL ASSIST"?. FORTUNATELY NO VEHICLES WERE IMMEDIATELY BEHIND AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY COAST TO THE SIDE. I WAS THEN ABLE TO RE-START THE ENGINE. THE DEALERSHIP'S 'FIX' WAS TO RESET THE COMPUTER BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THAT HAS TRULY RESOLVED THE ISSUE. I AM VERY CONCERNED THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN UNDER MORE DANGEROUS CIRCUMSTANCES.

DRIVING ALONG AND THE DASHBOARD WENT OFF AND ON. WINDOWS WON'T GO UP OR DOWN. NO LIGHTS. EVERYTHING WAS FLASHING. CAR ONLY HAS 22,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS ALSO ALWAYS KEPT IN THE GARAGE. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEMS. IT'S AN SEL AND 6 CYLINDERS. I WAS ON A CITY STREET AND JUST DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO BILL KNIGHT FORD. THEY GAVE ME NO CAR AND I'M SINGLE SO IT'S MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. I AM ALSO A RETIRED TEACHER AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO BUY A CAR. I EXPECT MORE OUT OF A FAIRLY NEW CAR.

IN THE EVENING ON 9/4/18 I HAD BEEN SITTING IN MY CAR, WHICH WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF, WAITING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES TO PICK UP MY SON. I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED THE CARE AS A USED VEHICLE ON 8/13/18. I HAD THE CAR KEY FOB IN MY LEFT JEANS POCKET. I SUDDENLY FELT AN INTENSE PAIN SENSATION RIGHT WHERE THE KEY FOB WAS LOCATED. THINKING I HAD POKED MYSELF WITH ONE OF THE ATTACHED KEYS (FOR HOME AND WORK), I IMMEDIATELY REMOVED THE KEY FOB FROM MY POCKET AND TOSSED IT INTO A CUP HOLDER. THE INTENSITY OF THE PAIN, HOWEVER, CONTINUED TO PROGRESS. ABOUT 4 HOURS LATER, I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE AREA. IT WAS IN THE SHAPE OF THE KEY FOB WITH AN ULCERATED AREA IN THE MIDDLE. IT WAS EXTREMELY RED AND SWOLLEN. I CLEANED THE AREA GENTLY, AS IT WAS INTENSELY PAINFUL LIKE A BURN. THE NEXT DAY, THE AREA WAS MUCH MORE SWOLLEN AND HOT TO THE TOUCH. AS THE DAY PROGRESSED, THE AREA BEGAN OOZING AND BLISTERING. THE PAIN CONTINUED TO BE VERY INTENSE. IN THE LATE AFTERNOON ON 9/5/18, I VISITED A DOCTOR AT MY PRIMARY CARE FACILITY. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A SECOND DEGREE BURN WITH A SECONDARY INFECTION. A PRESCRIPTION OF ANTIBIOTICS WERE PRESCRIBED, WHICH I BEGAN IMMEDIATELY. ON THE MORNING OF 9/6/18, THE OOZING HAD RESOLVED FOR THE MOST PART. THOUGH THE AREA WAS STILL SWOLLEN AND PAINFUL, IT HAD SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED AFTER 2 DOSES OF ANTIBIOTICS.

I HAVE OWNED MY 2015 ESCAPE SINCE MARCH 2016. BEGINNING 6 WEEKS AGO THE CAR FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THE FORD KEY. HAD CAR TOWED. TOLD BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED BOTH CAR AND KEY FOB BATTERIES. WITHIN 7 DAYS THE CAR REFUSED TO START AFTER SITTING IN THE GARAGE FOR 3 DAYS. HAD TO GET IT TOWED AND THE BATTERY RECHARGED. THIRD TIME THE CAR REFUSED TO START IT HAD BEEN DRIVEN AND THEN LEFT SITTING FOR 5 DAYS. ONCE AGAIN HAD TO HAVE A JUMP START. TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP AND TOLD DIAGNOSTIC INFO STATES NO ISSUES. TECHNICIAN IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CAR REFUSING TO RECOGNIZE KEY FOB OR NOT STARTING. EXPLAINED THAT CAR ONCE JUMPED STARTED RUNS FINE AS LONG AS I DRIVE IT DAY TO DAY. ONCE IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 2 OR MORE DAYS DOES IT AGAIN REFUSE TO START. APPEARS THAT SOMETHING SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS PULLING ALL THE JUICE OUT OF THE BATTERY REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE ONBOARD COMPUTER SAYS. SECOND ISSUE WITH THIS CAR HAS BEEN THE REAR HATCH. TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE REAR HINGES AND SAID THEY ARE BENT SO WHEN YOU CLOSE THE HATCH USING THE BUTTON ON THE HATCH OR KEY FOB, HATCH COMES DOWN BUT WON'T LATCH TIGHT AND GOES BACK OPEN. IF YOU MANUALLY SLAM THE HATCH SHUT, THE LATCH SEEMED TO BE TIGHT HOWEVER MY HATCH IS NOT SQUARE ANYMORE. IT IS TIGHT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT HAS A 1/4 GAP ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHICH LETS IN AIR AND WATER INTO THE CAR. TOLD THAT I'D NEED TO HAVE A BODY SHOP TAKE THE HATCH OFF AND REPLACE BOTH HINGES. THIS CAR HAS NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT NOR HAS IT BEEN TREATED ROUGHLY SO EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THE HATCH GOT OUT OF ALIGNMENT TO THE POINT IT IS CAUSING ISSUES WITH SHUTTING TIGHTLY? THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW WHERE THE HINGES INSTALLED ARE TOO LIGHT WEIGHT TO STAND UP TO NORMAL WEAR AND USAGE. LIVING IN THE UPPER MIDWEST THIS CAR IS EXPOSED TO WINTER WEATHER INCLUDING SALT AND ROAD SAND WHICH IN TURN CAN GET INTO OPEN SPACES AND RUST.

WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED WITH ENGINE OFF AND REAR HATCH OPEN, THE REAR HATCH SOMETIMES AUTOMATICALLY CLOSES. WHILE LOADING THE CAR WITH GROCERIES, FOR EXAMPLE, THE HATCH CAME DOWN AND HIT ME OR SOMEONE ELSE IN THE HEAD OR SHOULDER. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE. THE LIFT GATE WAS NOT ACTIVATED BY MY FOOT OR KEY. IN FACT, THE FEATURE WHERE THE HATCH CAN BE OPENED BY YOUR FOOT UNDERNEATH HAS NOT BEEN WORKING FOR A WHILE. I HAVE HAD MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE AT THE DEALER'S TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM ON TWO OCCASIONS IN 2016. THE PROBLEMS WERE SUPPOSEDLY FIXED. NOW IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN.

16V-643 RECALL. DEALERS TELL ME THEY CAN'T GET ME IN UNTIL MARCH. 1 DEALER WON'T DO WEEKENDS BECAUSE THEY DAY IT'S A 4 HOUR JOB AND ONLY OPEN 4 HOURS. THEY WANT TO DO IT THROUGH THE WEEK I CAN'T WITH WORK. ASKED ABOUT RENTAL SINCE PAPER SAYS THEY CAN PROVIDE ONE, THEY SAY ABSOLUTELY NOT. OTHER DEALER WILL DO RENTAL FOR 1 DAY BUT NOT UNTIL MARCH 10TH DUE TO NOT ENOUGH PARTS. I DRIVE WITH MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDBABY ON THE CAR. HOW CAN FORD SAY IT'S S SAFETY RECALL WHEN THEY ARE NOT WORRIED ABOUT SAFETY AND IT TAKES MONTHS TO GET IN.

VEHICLE WAS IN MOTOR ON A CITY STREET, THE PROBLEM WAS THAT IT WOULD NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AFTER JUST HITTING THE ACCELERATOR. TO BETTER DESCRIBE THIS, IT WAS RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND TRAFFIC WAS MOVING VERY SLOW SO I WOULD HAVE TO HIT THE BREAKS AFTER JUST HITTING THE BREAKS TO MOVE FORWARD. THIS RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I REAR ENDED THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED I HAD TO RETURN IT TO THE SHOP BECAUSE THERE AN UNKNOWN MECHANICAL ISSUE, AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL WITH THE ACCELERATOR. MY BEST ASSESSMENT IS THAT THIS MAY HAVE BEEN A CAUSE FOR THE ACCIDENT. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT ACTIVE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS BUT I WOULD LIKE IT INVESTIGATED AT THIS TIME, AS THIS ACCIDENT IS NOW AFFECTING MY DRIVERS INSURANCE.

WE PURCHASED OUR 2015 FORD ESCAPE NEW, IT IS STILL UNDER THE MANUFACTURES WARRANTY AND IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE FOOT (MOTION) ACTIVATED REAR LIFT GATE. ON 05/03/2017, I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE AND THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I WAS LOADING GROCERIES FROM THE SHOPPING CART TO THE VEHICLE. I PLACED SOME BAGS IN, TURNED TO GET MORE AND WHEN I TURNED BACK TO PUT THEM IN THE VEHICLE, I SLAMMED MY HEAD AGAINST THE LOWER EDGE OF THE LIFT GATE WHICH FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON WAS IN THE PROCESS OF COMING DOWN. I OBTAINED A LACERATION APPROXIMATELY TWO AND A QUARTER INCHES IN LENGTH AND A SEVERE HEADACHE SHORTLY AFTER THAT. ON 05/04/2017, I CONTACTED OUR SALES PERSON AND HE SAID HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THAT HAPPENING AND FROM WHAT HE KNEW, HE THOUGHT THE LIFT GATE WAS ONLY SUPPOSED TO GO UP WITH THE FOOT ACTIVATION AND NOT DOWN BUT HE IS GOING TO RESEARCH IT FURTHER. I HAVE A CALL INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALSO AND AM WAITING FOR A CALL BACK. THINKING OVER THE TIME WE HAVE OWNED THE ESCAPE, I NOW RECALL THAT HAPPENING ONE OTHER TIME BUT CAUGHT IT PRIOR TO HITTING IT. I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING ABOUT IT AT THAT TIME. I BELIEVE IT WAS THE MOTION SENSOR THAT CAUSED THE GATE TO COME DOWN AND NOT THE KEY AS THERE WAS NOTHING IN MY POCKET THE AT WOULD HAVE PUSHED THE BUTTON, PLUS IT HAS TO BE PUSHED TWICE TO ACTIVATE IT.

PURCHASED 2015 ESCAPE ON MAY 1, 2015. FEBRUARY 2016 WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID WOULD NOT WORK. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND THAT A SQUIRREL HAD NESTED UNDER THE HOOD AND CHEWED THE LINES AS WELL AS A PART ON THE PUMP FOR THE WIPER FLUID WHILE IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. COST WAS $250.00 FOR REPAIR. MARCH 2015 I CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD TO FIND THAT SQUIRRELS HAD CHEWED AND TORN UP THE WHEEL WELL INSULATION ON ONE SIDE WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. AFTER APPLYING CRITTER RIDDER GRANULES AND SPRAYING PEPPER SPRAY IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT THEY THEN CHEWED THE INSULATION ON THE OTHER SIDE. LIVED IN THE SAME PLACE AND PARKED MULTIPLE NEW AND USED VEHICLES IN THE DRIVEWAY SINCE 1989 WITH NO PRIOR ISSUES. POSSIBLE SOY COMPONENTS IN MANUFACTURER'S MATERIALS. POTENTIAL FOR FURTHER DAMAGE IS A SAFETY HAZARD IF BRAKE LINES ARE CHEWED OR ELECTRICAL WIRING CHEWED.

WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND HEARD A NOISE(I DESCRIBED THE NOISE LIKE A ROCK HITTING THE GLASS) LOOKED AT MY WINDSHIELD AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. WENT HOME AND PARKED MY CAR IN THE GARAGE. GOT IN THE CAR A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND GOT IN THE CAR, STARTED THE CAR AND MY SUNROOF WENT BACK ABOUT AN INCH AND SHATTERED GLASS FEEL INTO THE CAR. CHECKED ON TOP OF CAR AND THE ROOF POPPED UPWARD AND SHATTERED. DID RESEARCH AND THE 2014 ESCAPE HAD THE SAME ISSUES.FORS REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SUNROOF BECAUSE THEIR ENGINEERS DECIDED FROM MY PHOTOS THAT IT WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY DERBIE FROM THE ROAD.
