6.0L DIESEL ENGINES TO ADDRESS REPORTED INCIDENTS OF ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING OCCURRED UP TO 9 TIMES IN ONE DAY. ON JUNE 25 TOOK VEHICLE TO CERTIFIED DIESEL TECH, NO COMPUTER ERRORS. D & S SERVICE TECHS TROUBLE SHOT FOR 5 DAYS TO NO AVAIL. MANUFACTURE HAS NO ADVICE FOR REPAIR. AFTER 1 WEEK BEING SERVICED AND OVER $1,800 OF WORK IT STALLED AGAIN ON JULY 3RD. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. PLEASE HELP IN ADDRESSING THIS MATTER. THANK YOU. *TR

WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH ON THE FREEWAY MERGING ONTO ANOTHER FREEWAY WHEN THE TRUCK SUDDENLY STALLED. THERE WERE NO BRAKES, NO STEERING, AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT RESTART. WE HAD FOUR CHILDREN WITH US, THREE OF THEM SMALL AND IN CAR SEATS. WE HAD TO TRANSFER THE CHILDREN INTO A TOW TRUCK WITH MOVING TRAFFIC ON BOTH SIDES OF US. IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT CAUSING MAJOR TRAUMA OR DEATH. FICM IS GOOD, WE ARE STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM, BUT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP. THIS 6.0L DIESEL ENGINE SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY FORD. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ADDRESSED WITH PICK-UPS AND VANS, BUT NOT THE EXCURSION. *TR
I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN PURCHASING THIS FORD TRUCK....I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR 5 YEARS AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FOR THE SAME REASON...EGR VALVE GETS STUCK AND I'M STUCK ON SIDE THE HIGHWAY....I CANNOT TRUST THIS VEHICLE TO GET ME TO THE CORNER STORE LET ALONE A LONG DISTANCE TRIP. ALTHOUGH I LOVED MY TRUCK...THE COST OF THESE REPAIRS HAVE JUST BEEN ASTRONOMICAL, NOT TO MENTION THE INCONVENIENCE OF CONSTANT TOWING AND DAYS SPENT IN THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT FORD COMPANY IS MORE THAN AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE 6.0-LITER DIESEL ENGINES AND HAS DONE LITTLE TO NOTHING TO HELP ITS CONSUMERS. MY HUSBAND AND I LOVED FORD TRUCKS, BUT THIS WILL CERTAINLY BE THE LAST TIME I PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY OR ITS BRANDS. IN FACT, IT IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN!!!!! AS I TYPE THIS COMPLAINT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2005 FORD EXCURSION DIESEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN SMOKING AND STALLED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN INTO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT EVERY TIME THE HEATER OR AIR CONDITIONER WAS ACTIVATED, FUMES WOULD EMIT INTO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 176,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 179,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD EXCURSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXHAUST REGULATOR WAS FAILING. THIS FAILURE WOULD CAUSE A HEAVY WHITE SMOKE TO EMIT FROM THE TAIL PIPE AND IF THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME, THE HEAD GASKET WOULD OVERHEAT AND ALLOW WATER AND GASOLINE INTO THE ENGINE. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 163,000.

DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH, VEHICLE HAD A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. TRAVELING WITH FAMILY IN THE VEHICLE HAD TO BRING TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH NO POWER ASSISTANCE. MO HIGHWAY PATROL (MOTORIST ASSIST) HAD TO BE CALLED TO LOCATE TOW TRUCK AS WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. WE WERE TOLD FORD HAS GIVEN ASSISTANCE ON THE REPAIR OF THIS SPECIFIC ENGINE ON OTHER VEHICLES, PICK UP OR LARGE VAN, HOWEVER THEY ARE IGNORING THE SAME REPAIRS AND FAILURES WITH THIS ENGINE IN THE EXCURSIONS.*TR

SPARK PLUG BLOWN OUT OF HEAD OF VEHICLE, BROUGHT TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY BECAUSE THE PLUG HAD LOOSENED ,THESE PLUGS WERE FACTORY INSTALLED THEREFORE IT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE WORKMANSHIP AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THIS PROBLEM IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH FORD MOTORS AS I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE. I HAVE ALSO REVIEWED MANY ARTICLES RELATING TO THIS SEVERAL OF WHICH ARE QUITE DISTURBING MAINLY THE FACT THAT THERE HAVE BEEN INSTANCES OF SPARK PLUGS EJECTING AND RUPTURING THE FUEL LINE WHICH SITS DIRECTLY ABOVE THE SPARK PLUG CAUSING A FIRE AND ENGULFING THE VEHICLES IN FLAMES. BEING AS I HAVE A LARGE FAMILY WE HAVE A FORD EXCURSION AND WE HAVE CHILDREN STRAPPED IN CAR SEATS I AM QUITE CONCERNED THAT THIS IS EVEN A REMOTE POSSIBILITY AND I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE A GRAVE CONCERN FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION AS WELL. BOTTOM LINE IS FORD HAS AN ENGINEERING PROBLEM WITH THESE MOTORS AND NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND CORRECT THEM. *TR

IN NOVEMBER OF 2007, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE HIGH VOLUME OIL PRESSURE PUMP AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN OPERATING NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING) AND COULD NOT PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.

2005 6.0 DIESEL EXCURSION HAS HAD MANY MOTOR ISSUES AND LOTS OF PARTS ALREADY REPLACED BY FORD UP TO THIS DATE. TURBO QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED IN MAY, 2007. IN JUNE, 2007, VEHICLE HAS MORE TURBO ISSUES AND EGR COOLER ASSEMBLY IS REPLACED. ON JULY 4TH, 2007, VEHICLE STARTS STALLING WHILE DRIVING DOWN FREEWAY AND WIRING HARNESS HAD TO BE REPLACED. ON JULY 16TH, 2007, (3 DAYS HOME FROM SHOP), STALLS AGAIN WHILE DRIVING DOWN FREEWAY. DEALERSHIP CANNOT DETERMINE PROBLEM YET REFUSES TO BUY BACK DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. IT'S BEEN OVER 60 DAYS IN SHOP SINCE BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN 2005. OASIS REPORT IS 6 PAGES LONG ALREADY. *TR
