This Problem Across All Years
The vehicle stalls, when stopped in traffic. In order to restart the vehicle, the transmission must be placed in the “park” position. This happens intermittently after the vehicle has been driven for a longer distance. I have read that this is related to the fuel injection system getting overheated which causes the fuel supply to drop and basically starves the system of the necessary fuel for combustion. Ford does not have a solution for this, however, the problem continues and creates a safety hazard especially during the darker hours.

The vehicle stopped running while driving, my wife stopped at a stop sign after vehicle had run ~ 10 minutes. Upon entering the inter-section the vehicle started to run rough, and ultimately stalled and would not restart. She was able to coast into a parking lot entrance within On Top of World subdivision where we live and get off of main road. After multiple AAA attempts to jump start, AAA confirmed the vehicle was unable to be jump started, therefore vehicle was towed to local ford dealership for diagnostics. They tried to jump start multiple times and after 2 days, pushed it into garage. They confirmed fuel pump failure and replaced with current design. We were charged for towing, new battery, and fuel pump system replacement with current design and advised we would have to bring it back in when Ford identified remedy for current recall. No loaner vehicle provided. We are very concerned as if this event had occurred on an interstate, there is a high risk of accident/injury. After repair with existing part designs we are worried about another failure on busy road/interstate.

1) The fuel delivery system is affected — specifically, a faulty fuel pump which may fail and cause engine stalling while driving. This issue is under Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (NHTSA 25V-455). The vehicle is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. 2) The recall clearly states that the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. On a recent highway trip ([XXX]), my Expedition began shaking at high speeds, and continued shaking while parked, indicating worsening fuel system issues. I have three young children (ages [XXX] , [XXX] , and [XXX] ) who regularly ride in the vehicle. Being told to continue driving under these conditions with no available fix has placed my entire family and others on the road at risk. 3) Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. When I called Ford customer service to report the issue and request a safe alternative, I was told there was no further action available and that I should continue driving the vehicle. I was referred to my local Ford dealership, who also said they could not take any action until a remedy is issued. 4) Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Because Ford has no remedy available, they have not performed any inspection or offered assistance. The dealership confirmed they cannot inspect or service the vehicle related to this recall until Ford issues a fix. 5) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lights or error messages, during a return trip from Texas [XXX] the vehicle began shaking noticeably at highway speeds, and continued shaking heavily while in park. These symptoms had never occurred before, and they align with the type of failure described in the recall notice. Bought [XXX] at Corwin Ford Reno Nevada. April 2023 vehicle had sporadic transmission issues - slipping randomly. Took it in and explained the issue. Told there’s no transmission person. Nothing was done and told to continue to drive it. [XXX] Vehicle ended up going into reverse on its own at a stop light. Took the car in and given the same story, were completely back logged and could not get the car in. Car also had an active recall on it, never was looked at because they stated back logged until mid 2024 and couldn’t schedule an appointment. Asked for a loaner vehicle, told that’s not available anymore. May 2024 went into reverse again on its own. Called to get it in, stated they could not make any appointments at that time. October 2024 engine intermittently began revving on its own up to 4000RPM. Told no transmission mechanic was available. We were told there’s no more loaner program, transmission mechanic is 3 months out and there’s nothing that can be done at this time. Asked us if we wanted to pay $2500 for preventative maintenance and fluid top off on the vehicle though. [XXX] the rear AC went out on the vehicle also. There is also a new recall on the vehicle for the fuel pump and a loss of fuel pressure. These are all a massive safety concern for our entire family (4 kids + 2 adults) and for the general public. Ford is refusing to take responsibility for these issues and are making it very difficult for us to work with. We have a [XXX] who has [XXX] and we need a reliable vehicle to transport him to and from doctors appointments. The vehicle has a full warranty on it also. Wipers are the recalled version missing the little block. HOWEVER, the recall is not for my VIN. Coolant keeps disappearing. Hard shifting and or no movement at all while transmission is cold.
