The axle bolt on both rear wheel hubs has sheared about 1/2 inch down the bolt. This led to the gradual loss of power to the effected wheel hub causing unpredictable handling characteristics as the interface between the axle and the wheel hub degrades due to the fastener being sheared off.

After coming to a complete stop the truck violently lurch’s forward. To the point that it feels as if another vehicle has contacted the rear of the vehicle. This seems to be attributed to an auxiliary pump failure.

The service bulletin needs to be a recall. The Program number is 22B34 where on all max tow packages the rear axle bolt breaks off. It is very common and need to be addressed and not just a satisfaction program. It happened to my truck at 27,000 miles.

I took the vehicle in for a tire rotation and oil change at approximately 18,000 miles. The dealer informed me that the passenger side rear axle bolt had sheared off and that the bolt had to be drilled out and replaced. The repair did not solve the problem and now the axle has to be replaced.
