when i go to accelerate (not every time) (random times) from a near stop during a yielding situation, engine power hesitates to come back on. I've been nearly rear ended twice entering onto highways because of it. i have an appointment Friday with a dealership but they said that they may not be able to do anything for it...im reporting this because that is not acceptable behavior from a dealership. its a safety issue and its under warranty....FIX IT!! when this issue happens i can have the pedal full pressed and it takes several second for the engine to wake up from switching from electric to gas..(im only able to move 1 to 3 MPH)..or if i want it to snap out of it sooner i rapidly press the accelerator in and out multiple times....both ways eventually kicks the engine power back on lunging the truck forward.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V512000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was at the dealer during routine maintenance. While the tires were being rotated, the end hub bolt detached from the vehicle. The contact received a letter from the manufacturer that the parts for the recall repair were available. The contact was later informed that the parts might be available by November 2025. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

On 7/18/25 I picked up F-150 from being repaired (failed Belt Drive Generator/Starter Tensioner). About 3 hours later I was driving up a long grade at about 5,000 feet when I stopped to check on my cargo (a bicycle). At this point I noticed the cooling fans were running increasingly fast, much faster then they had ever run before. I checked the digital temperature gauge and it showed a normal temperature. I opened the hood and saw there was no coolant in the overflow bottle. I assumed the truck was just a bit low on coolant and I had some (5 liters) water with me so I added that to the overflow bottle. Very little water was visible in the overflow bottle. I replaced the cap, turned off the A/C and immediately headed back to the dealer. At no point did the check engine light come on. At no point did the temperature gauge move from the "normal" area. At no point did any warning message of any time appear on the driver display - unless it occured when I was refilling the overflow bottle. The engine was not operating normally however, the gas engine stayed on at all times and did not cycle on and off as it normally would do (truck is a hybrid). When I arrived at the dealer they attempted to fill the coolant system and said it was completely empty - no sign of the 5 liters of water I put into the system. The cause of the leak was identified as the EGHR system, specifically the plastic coolant inlet port. This failure is discussed in Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 24N04 - attached. This failure should not have occured. But when it DID occur the vehcile should have warned the driver that a serious overheating event was occuring. No MIL was set. No driver warners were made and the temperature gauge remained in the normal range at all times. The ONLY way I because aware of the problem was by noticing the increasing speed of the cooling fans. This could lead to fire, or unexpected engine failure or burns from overheated radiator.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH and taking his granddaughter to practice, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was shuddering while depressing the accelerator pedal to the floorboard; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact came to a stop on the highway and then pulled over. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and shifted into drive however, the vehicle failed to respond. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact to reach out to Roadside Assistance however, the contact was unable to get assistance. The Police Department was contacted, and a tow truck operator was contacted. The contact’s wife was able to pick up the granddaughter. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with rear axle failure. While the vehicle was at the dealer and shifted to park, the vehicle rolled backwards and was damaged. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 22,200. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The rear axle bolts were both discovered to be broken during a recent tire change. Upon inspection at the dealership it was confirmed that both rear axle bolts had sheared off and had begun to wear the splines of the rear drive axle that would have resulted in loss of ability to maneuver or park the vehicle. The dealership indicated that a recall had been issued for similar previous models of my truck, but my truck was not included in the recall. I am asking for recall 23S65 to be expanded as it obviously did not include all affected vehicles.

Nov 20, 2024

I have a 2023 Ford F-150 that has experienced a fatigue fracture failure to the drivers side axle bolt exactly as described in recall 23S65. [XXX] My truck has 18,000 miles, and I noticed unusual noise while driving at low speed. I removed the separated axle bolt segment from within my wheel, and I continue to experience a squealing noise while lightly accelerating and braking. This failure can lead to sudden loss of acceleration or vehicles rolling away while parked. Symptoms can be subtle and often go unnoticed for significant durations of time and miles driven. Recall 23S65 does not include my VIN as my truck was built in February 2023, and the recall coverage terminates for trucks built in December 2022. I inquired with Ford's recall service line and they are unwilling to consider expanding the recall, and they recommended that I instead file a complaint with NHTSA. I believe that more trucks built after December 2022 are impacted by this defective axle design and I want to ensure eligibility for redesigned parts is accordingly extended. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK

Aug 20, 2024

On numerous occasions the truck fails to accelerate and bogs down when taking off and turning at the same time. This has occurred when pulling out of a parking lot onto a busy street where cars are going the speed limit of 45 mph. When pulling out and making a turn you push the gas and nothing happens. The truck is basically coasting from the initial take off and is going less than 20 mph. Suddenly the cars that were coming down the road are right on top of you swerving and hitting there horn because they think you deliberately pulled out at the last minute in front of them. In actuality you pulled out of the parking lot with ample space. The problem is the truck did not accelerate. Secondly the truck handles terribly when pulling out of a driveway that has multiple angles. The truck can violently toss riders around in the seat at low speeds. This could cause someone to lose control of the steering wheel. I have reported these problems to ford dealer. I have either been told there is no problem or told “we found the problem and fixed it” only to experience the same dangerous faults time and time again. I have gone as far as telling the dealer to put in their records that I said “someone was going to get killed in a car wreck because of these flaws.”

The transmission is making a vibration in the accelerator pedal. dealer says its a normal characteristic but I had the same vehicle in 2021 and never had the problem

The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the dealer was performing tire rotation on the vehicle, the dealer informed the contact that the rear passenger's side axle bolts had fractured. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V896000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The dealer replaced the rear passenger's side axle assembly under warranty. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.

Coming off the freeway, heard a loud noise in the rear of my truck. Then it sounded like rocks were getting pulverized. Put the vehicle in park and since we (Me, wife, and two children) were on a decline the brakes did not work and our truck drifted into oncoming traffic. Luckily cars were able to avoid us in time where we pulled off onto the shoulder and engage the parking brake.

Sudden downshift with Vehicle Transmission causing vehicle to come to an unexpected stop. Vehicle can lock up wheels and become uncontrollable. Vehicle was taken in to Ford dealership and dealer technician verified the issue. Technician sent data to Ford. Dealer reported issue to Ford and Ford told dealer there is no fix. If this continues to happen an accident could occur.

Apr 15, 2024

The transmission downshifts s hard after the vehicle is fully warmed up it will cause the rear tires to lock up on wet or slippery road conditions This may cause a loss of control and put the occupants of the vehicle in danger The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer but it has been in twice for this issue. the dealers do not have enough time to drive the vehicle long enough for the transmission problem to start. There are no warning lamps on the dash, but I do have video proof of this occurring.

Apr 2, 2024

The vehicle abruptly down shifted locking the rear tires when approaching a stop light. Safety: luckily no one was behind me that could of rear ended the vehicle. Will report issue to dealership.

At times will go out to start truck after it has been running for a while and will not start. Push start button and will not do anything. I had to wait for a least 2 hours before it would start again. I have read on internet that this has happened to several people. It could be very dangerous at night if this happened in some places. This problem doesn't happen very often but does happen. The truck acts like a dead battery this is the Power Boost model. I was told per dealer let it sit for a while and should start.

Sep 24, 2023

1. My 2023 Ford F-150 Powerboost Hybrid is receiving the Stop Safely Now message. The vehicle has failed to start on a few occasions. 2. The vehicle not starting left me in a position where the vehicle was inoperable. This is a safety concern because is would put me or my family in potential danger from the elements, inability to receive health care and potential danger from individuals of I’ll intent. 3. Yes. 4. Unknown. 5. Unknown. Although I received low voltage messages, I had no idea what that meant. The Ford app simply told me to drive the vehicle to charge the battery. I drive the truck daily.

Sep 22, 2023

My truck is less than 1 month old and less than 1,000 miles. On two separate occasions, when attempting to start the ignition the engine will not start. A "Stop Safely Now" message appears on the dashboard, and the truck will power on the accessories only. Now matter how many attempts to turn on the ignition, the truck will not turn on. This leaves you completely stranded wherever you are. You do not know when this SSN message will occur, and can be a serious safety issue if being left stranded somewhere. There were no messages, codes, or other issues reported from the truck prior to this. The battery was checked and is sufficient. This is a problem with the powerboost hybrid engine in the Ford F150.

Aug 6, 2023

This is a bran new vehicle. Power train failure indicated on screen. The transmission started jacking off leaving me with no acceleration. The truck was put in the dealership shop and repair. I picked it up about 4 weeks later. Drove it about 20 miles and the same thing happened again twice with in the 20 miles I drove. It’s back in the dealership shop been there about 3 weeks wanting on different parts then the first time they repaired it with.

When coming to a stop, say a stop light or stop sign, after a few seconds at a complete stop, the vehicle lurches violently forward. First time it happened, I thought I was rear ended, but no one was behind me. According tho hundreds of posts on www.f150gen14.com, it seems to be a known issue with the Auxiliary Transmission Oil pump, but dealerships are not acknowledging the issue or claiming it's a non-warranty issue. Regardless of that, the safety concern is the vehicle lurching into traffic, pedestrian, car in front, etc.

Jul 28, 2023

Brand new truck with less than 500 miles on the odometer and now having issues with the auxiliary transmission pump which is responsible for switching between the hybrid system (engine to battery and vice versa). The issue with this is that is also makes the vehicle lurch forward as if it was rear ended, with the potential to hit something in front as a result. I left the vehicle with the dealer on Tuesday (7/25) and was just told on Thursday (7/27) that it would take a month before the vehicle can see their transmission department and that it would need to stay with them for the entire duration. I am now out of a vehicle I've owned for 2 weeks for the next month, and realistically even more time as once diagnosis occurs then more waiting is needed for parts/repair.

Vehicle malfunctions at start-up. Will not turn on and displays "stop safely now" message. Has also thrown codes for low battery voltage that simply disappear. Vehicle malfunction at start-up does not throw code.

Entered vehicle and started my truck, and Immediately after a stop safely now along with full accessory power flash continuously. Along with the warnings I was unable to move my shifter as it was stuck on park the whole time. I turned off and restarted the vehicle 8-10 times over the course of 10-15 minutes which in the last try the messages went away and was finally able to put into drive and drive to work. I researched this issue and see a ton of other owners are having similar issues from this model.

My F150 was purchased new and I have had it about 3 weeks. It has 1400 miles on it. Sunday afternoon April 30 2023 I could not start my f 150. There was a warning STOP SAFELY NOW and the car would not activate the engine, or disengage the parking brake. I turned everything off and waited a few minutes then tried to activate my f150 again. Again the car was bricked. The next morning May 1 at 8 am the car functioned and normally. I contacted a Ford dealer and was advised to make a service appointment. I did and took the F 150 in for service May 2 2023. It is now at a dealership for diagnostics. Had I been at 70 mph on teh interstate with a warning like STOP SAFELY NOW and then been stranded that could have been very hazardous.
