Extreme corrosion on connector for headlamp assembly and front camera. Also, extreme corrosion on connector that powers lightbar. Ford denied warranty claim by considering it a lamp issue even though lamp was good. The lightbar and connector w/ corrosion are one single part. Corrosion was so bad multiple pins had rusted off. This could cause electrical short and potential fire risk.
VIN: [XXX] NHTSA recall number: 23V41800 Manufacturer recall number: 23S30 My car has a current NHTSA, I have scheduled over 5 appointments to have Ford address the reverse lightbar replaced. And all 5 appointments have been unsuccessful at replacing the light since [XXX]. It is now October 2024, over 17 months since the NHTSA recall from June 2023. As of the date of this letter, my next appointment is schedule for [XXX], once again I called Colonial Ford dealership in Plymouth, Massachusetts to confirm my lightbar is available and the service advisor told me it is not in stock, and rescheduled me to [XXX]. This letter pursues, after several failed appointment and long wait times waiting to hear the part is on backorder for the last year. I am attaching proof all appointments and phone calls, and email notices of scheduled appointments, but were unsuccessful since the part is not in at the dealership. Over the course of the last year, I have called monthly and after receiving email and recall notices, and to no avail, each time I am told the part is on backorder and to call back. I continue to have problems with my taillight flickering, and problems with my reverse light for the last six months, recently a few weeks ago, I was given a warning by Plymouth Police Department in Massachusetts. I explained and showed proof of the recall. I have patiently waited since I keep thinking it will be here next month, well it is now almost 1.5 years later and the part is still on “backorder”. Patiently waiting is now a safety issue. I have explained to the service advisor that my car detects an accident collision because of the faulty light and Ford has failed to promptly address and replace the tail light. Please see Ford attached invoices addressing the Collision Detection malfunctioning from November 2023. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I’ve had 11 times back at the dealer to fix my airbag, pre-collision and battery. Ford can’t figure out the solution and keeps throwing parts at it. Already replaced my computer, computers, my wiring, harnesses, my charge port, my wiring harness for the charge port, my seat cushion for the airbags. Ford no longer knows how to fix the problem And is leaving the truck in the backyard for over six weeks now. I’m seeing multiple people having the same problem and Ford doesn’t know how to fix the problem even though they’ve reset my modules and replace them. Ford hotline doesn’t know how to solve the problem either so they’re just resetting The code and telling customers to get back in their vehicle. I found out that Ford wanted me to drive my truck for a month with a code reader with no airbags, hoping that they could find the problem but I told them no and when I said that they said I’ve already been driving it for months even though they never fix the problem Not knowing if I had airbags. Ford is willingly putting people in vehicles with no airbags, hoping the problem is fixed, but they don’t know what’s causing the problem and I’m not the only person I know five other people with the same problem.
The cruise control can be easily and accidentally activated and can be activated at any speed. Once activated, it has a minimum established speed of 15mph. If traveling at low parking lot speeds of under 5mph, this will result in a sudden surge as the truck attempts to hit the minimum 15mph speed. The sudden surge is a surprise to many and can be dangerous as it typically occurs in low speed areas such as parking lots and can be accidentally activated during low speed maneuvers. Recommend the manufacture adjust the settings so that either cruise control can not be activated when below the established minimum speed setting of 15mph. Additionally, please refer to pages 4-5 of the forums for additional users complaining about the same: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While in Adaptive Cruise and self driving the Lightening, dangrously crosses lines and rides too close to the right side. This results in other drivers actively swerving off the road to avoid a collision as well as intervention by me. I have videos of all of the following occurring while operating the vehicle: 1. Riding and crossing the right line (white and dotted when passing) 2. Vehicle crossing the double center lines into oncoming traffic 3. Watch the road warning and cancelling of adaptive cruise even when I show I AM WATCHING THE ROAD I have videos of the activity the truck is experiencing

Runaway Throttle at least 8 times now: 1. Driving in adaptive cruise control when deactivated by manual braking (to turn into a parking lot, which is a more common scenario for a brake based shutoff) 2. Parked nose first and shut off the truck 3. Start truck and reverse out of parking space 4. Shift to drive, apply throttle gently and truck continues to accelerate when throttle released requiring a PANICKED brake application
The adaptive cruise control is supposed to adapt to the speed of the vehicle in front of you as well as adapt to the posted speed limits as they change. When driving on the highway, the adaptive cruise control will read the exit ramp speed limit while you are driving through on the highway and immediately drop. So while driving at the posted 65 mph my truck drops down to 25 mph. This has strangely happened on occasion when driving under an overpass - my speed dropped from 65 mph to 45 mph. This happens with no warning. You cannot predict when it will happen. I was driving in Maryland on Route 81 which is a MAJOR truck corridor, was driving 65 mph as posted and as I passed an exit ramp, my speed dropped to 25 mph. A tractor trailer behind me immediately blared his horn and continued to blare his horn while he passed me. I contacted Ford through their online problem chat. They never heard of this problem. This is not true because the Ford bloggers talk about this online. The Ford Representative suggested I have it checked at the dealership. I went to the Ford dealership and they said they didn’t have a fix. Just don’t use your cruise control. This defect will definitely cause a major accident, it’s just a matter of time.
My 2022 F150 Lightning was involved in a 3 car collision on Interstate 80. Three safety components of the pickup truck did not engage in preventing the accident. Specifically the adaptive cruising did not slow the truck down as traffic came to a slow crawl on the highway due to an apparent accident up ahead. Normally the adaptive cruising will start decreasing speed if the vehicle in front encroaches on the distance set for clearance. The second component which was the forward collision aural and visual warnings did not sound nor flash a warning sign on the dashboard that a collision was imminent. And the final component that failed to engage was the emergency collision braking. My seatbelts did not automatically pull back anticipating a collision. No emergency braking was applied by the truck. My wife who was the driver and I was the front right seat passenger. She was able to apply the brakes to slow down but not enough to stop before we impacted the vehicle in front which then got pushed into the 3rd vehicle in front of him. Our impact speed was probably less than 10=20 mph but the impact totaled the middle vehicle. Forthunately no injuries in any of the 3 vehicles. The middle vehicle airbags deployed. Our airbags did not deploy. California CHP came and told us no report needed to be filed. Claim was made with our insurance companies. My Ford service department representative was able to access the telemetry data on the truck and noted the time of the collision registered on the onboard computer but there were no indications that any of the 3 safety systems engaged as I mentioned. The windshield of the truck had been replaced by Safelite Windows less than a month before the accident which may have resulted in perhaps not able to sense the upcoming collision although they did the realignment after replacing the windshield. This may have been a secondary cause of the collision.

Bluecruise when driving east bound by highland illinois will lose control of the vehicle and let it drive outside of its lane. The lane control of the vehicle provides no alerts when this happens. This can be easily repeated on multiple roads when in "Hands Free" This is extremely dangerous as the ADAS doesnt feel like it has good command of the vehicle or the road. Posing an issue to myself and others. My dealer installed all updates within the last two weeks and this continues to be the case. Before and after the updates no change in vehicle control behavior's.

On May 25, 2023 I was stopped at a red light with one car in front of me. My foot was not on brake because i use the one peddle feature. All of the sudden, my car accelerated and ran into the car in front of me. In the 2 seconds before hitting car, I saw my collision assistant light go on but there was no braking at all. I've been driving for almost 40 years and nothing like this has ever happened. Clearly, something internally with the sensors or computer system malfunctioned. Fortunately, nobody was injured but I can't imagine if a pedestrian was in front of me. Also, the collision braking malfunctioned and brakes didn't go on either. I have not had anything problems with the truck in the 6 months I've been driving vehicle. The only error message I've been seeing before this accident is something about an Air Damn malfunction. I recently brought it into dealership and they said they fixed it but it was still coming on after leaving the dealership. Not sure exactly what this Air Damn is and if it could be related. I immediately called Ford about this and they said to contact NHTSA. I also quickly went to dealership where I purchased vehicle but they didn't seem to know what to do. My understanding, according to Ford, is to start the process with NHTSA. Let me know if you have any additional questions and what the next step is. I'm very concerned to drive vehicle when it comes back from getting all the damage fixed.
