Right Price Auto stated that they would do repairs 2000 ford f150 XLT purchased truck, they supposedly repaired gas gage however bad battery & rear tires(extremely bald) were left untouched & kept lying about getting tires replaced(rather they were used tires or not),just constantly keep lying...... Also keep lying about repairing my 2015 ram 1500 5.7V8 big horn stating they fixed it(Misfire on #8),with all the lying & scheming(Now all Coil packs(8) & spark plugs(16) needs to be replaced),trucks are just sitting in my yard,2000 f150 bad battery & bald tires in rear(unsafe to drive),I feel cheated, they sold my trade in(2003 dodge ram 1500)with in a week & leave my son & I with trucks that are inoperable, they stated these things would be repaired before we signed any papers but once we signed AS-IS document they started with the lying & scheming, either I want these matters fixed or I want the $2000 back for my trade in & the $500 cash they took off my debit card for a total of $2,500 & the $1500 cash down payment I gave them for the ford f150 for a total of $4,000, We have trucks that are no use to us or they need to fix them, I'm not making anymore payments til these problems are resolved, period....I made the first payments that were due(giving them the benefit of doubt) thinking the company would repair the trucks but no they act as if nothing is wrong & expect me to keep paying them, which I refuse, if this is not fraud I don't know what is & to think I brought a SUV from 2 years ago (no problems whatsoever) So I return to purchase from them again & they [XXX] my son [XXX] old) & myself over, WOW!! Spark plug keeps popping out due to powerful air pressure had it replaced several times

The vehicle hit the rear end of the other vehicle. The front passenger's side bumper of the vehicle was bent inward. The contact stated that it was a fender bender; however, the driver's side and passenger's side air bags deployed. The contact noticed a strong burning odor. The contact stated that the police officer confirmed that there was a strong burning odor and smoke; however, when the officer opened the hood, there was no smoke coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that she sustained a torn skin on the arm due to the air bag deploying. A police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to the residence. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.

AT APPROX. 2:22 AM ON THE MORNING OF 3/4/2016, THE ENGINE BECAME ENGULFED IN FIRE AFTER HAVING BEEN PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY SINCE 3:00 PM ON 3/3/2016. WE LATER LEARNED OF A NUMBER OF RECALLS LEAD BY FORD FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A DEFECTIVE BRAKE SWITCH WHICH WOULD CAUSE THIS TYPE OF FIRE. WE CHECKED THE VIN OF THE VEHICLE WITH BOTH NHTSA AND FORD AND FOUND THAT NO RECALL WAS EFFECTIVE FOR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. I HAVE ATTACHED THE FIRE REPORT AND PHOTOS.

I THEN DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS COULD BE A BLOWN SPARK PLUG FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD. I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS AND TALKED TO SEVERAL MECHANICS ABOUT THE SYMPTOMS I HAVE EXPERIENCED. ALL HAVE SAID THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE AND OTHER FORD ENGINES. I CALLED FORD MOTOR CO. AND THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS ENGINE. MY LOCAL DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE STOCK PLENTY OF IGNITION COILS ON HAND. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE OUT OF TOWN AT THE TIME BUT FORTUNATELY MY MOTHER WAS HOME AND HEARD THE BIG BOOM AND CALLED 911 FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. SHE THEN WENT DOWN TO OUR HOUSE AND USED A GARDEN HOSE TO KEEP THE GRASS AND SURRONDING AREA WET SO THAT OUR HOME WOULD NOT CATCH ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS BUT THANKFULLY MY HUSBAND WASN'T DRIVING IT WHEN IT HAPPENED AND MY MOM WAS AT HOME TO HELP PREVENT OUR HOUSE FROM CATCHING FIRE ALSO. WE FEEL BLESSED THAT ALL WE LOST WAS THE TRUCK AND NOT OUR HOME OR LIFE. THE TRUCK WAS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE AND WELL MAINTAINED . THIS INCIDENT MAKES US WONDER IF THE FORD DEALERSHIP ACTUALLY REPLACED THE PART UNDER RECALL.

I WAS TRAVELING IN NEUTRAL, DOWNHILL, AT ABOUT 40MPH THROUGH A SHALLOW TURN AS I WAS EXITING A HIGHWAY. WHEN I PUT THE TRUCK IN 4TH GEAR TO ACCELERATE, I HAD NO POWER. THE TACHOMETER WAS AT ZERO AND I TRIED TO TURN ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND BEGIN BRAKING, BOTH FAILED TO WORK. I HAD NO LIGHTS OR ANY OTHER ELECTRICAL POWER (IT WAS DAYLIGHT) I DOWNSHIFTED AND TURNED TO EASE OFF THE ROAD, I HAD NO POWER STEERING, THEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I HALTED THE TRUCK WITH THE E BRAKE ONCE I WAS SLOW ENOUGH AND ON THE EDGE OF THE ROAD. I TRIED TO RESTART IT SEVERAL TIMES BUT NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN. THE TRUCK HAD ZERO ELECTRICAL POWER. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES IT STARTED BACK UP AS IF NOTHING WAS WRONG. WHEN I GOT IT TO JOHN ELWAY FORD IN DENVER CO, THE MECHANICS SAID THE COMPUTER DIDN'T LOG ANY ERRORS AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. THE STARTER MOTOR WAS ENGAGING WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING WITH THE KEY IN THE RUN POSITION. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO STOP IT. THE HEATER BLOWER, PARKING LIGHTS, DASH LIGHT AND GAUGES, KEY CHIME, AND RADIO WOULD TURN ON AND OFF BY THEMSELVES WITHOUT A KEY IN THE IGNITION. ACCORDING TO THE FORD DEALER, THIS WAS ALL CAUSED BY WATER LEAKING IN FROM THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING THE FUSE BLOCK AND GEM MODULE TO SHORT OUT. THEY SAID IT WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH WINDSHIELD LEAKS ON 2000 FORD F-150'S. THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE WINDSHIELD AND RESEAL IT AND REPLACE STARTER,FUSE BLOCK, AND GEM MODULE. THIS WINDSHIELD WAS ALSO RESEALED 2 WEEKS AFTER BUYING THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALER IN 2000. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE AS NOTED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE IS BEING TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON JANUARY 5, 2009 FOR A DIAGNOSIS. AFTER THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT THE FIRE OUT, THE FIRE MARSHAL WAS INVESTIGATING AND TOLD ME IT WAS A FAULTY CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH THAT FORD HAS A RECALL FOR THAT WAS THE IGNITION POINT. I CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME SINCE THEY HAD MY CORRECT ADDRESS AND THE RECALL NOTICES WERE SENT AND NOT RETURNED TO THEM. I TOLD FORD I DID NOT RECEIVE THE RECALL NOTICES.

IF SOMEONE HADN'T NOTICED THE FIRE ON THEIR WAY TO WORK AND WOKEN US UP WE WOULD HAVE LOST OUR HOME AND MAYBE EVEN OUR LIVES. THE INVESTIGATOR THAT WAS SEN'T TO OUR HOUSE TO INVESTIGATE THE VEHICLE IS CONFIDENT THAT THIS IS RELATED TO THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH. THE TRUCK WAS STANDING STILL UNOCCUPIED TURNED OFF FOR ATLEAST 6 HOURS BEFORE IT WEN'T UP IN FLAMES.WHEN WE CAME OUT OF THE HOUSE THE WHOLE HOOD WAS ON FIRE, BY THE TIME THE FIREMEN CAME THE WHOLE TRUCK WAS BURNED AND IT STARTED ON THE HOUSE. THE FIREMEN AT THE SEEN TOLD US THAT NOTHING LOOKED CRIMINAL AND THEY BELIEVE THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. THEIR IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT THIS FIRE OCCURED BECAUSE OF THE CRUISE VCONTROL RECALL.

2000 FORD F150 LEAKING AROUND DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER AREA. WATER LEAKS DOWN INSIDE FIREWALL INTO A RELAY/CONTROL TERMINAL AND ACTIVATES THE IGNITION AND SECURITY SYSTEM. NORMALLY THIS DRAINS THE BATTERY AND DEACTIVATES THE IGNITION UNTIL THE UNIT DRIES OUT. THIS ONLY OCCURS DURING HEAVY RAIN.

I NOTICTED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK AROUND MAY OF 2004. WE WERE TAKING A LONG TRIP AND WHEN I WOULD PUSH THE BUTTON THE CRUISE LIGHT WOULD FLASH ON AND THEN GO OFF. AFTER SEVERAL TRIES I GAVE UP ON IT THINKING I WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT LATER. ON THE MORNING OF 9/17/04 MY WIFE MOVED MY TRUCK ONTO THE STREET SO SHE COULD GOTO WORK. THAT WAS AROUND 7AM. AT ABOUT 9AM I WENT OUT TO THE TRUCK TO LEAVE AND SAW SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE WHEEL WELL. I PULLED THE HOOD RELEASE AND OPENED THE HOOD. THE FIRE WAS COMING FROM THE PLUG AT THE REAR OF THE MASTER CYLINDER. I GRABBED A HANDFUL OF DIRT AND THREW IT ON THE FIRE CAUSING THE FLAME TO GO OUT BUT IT TRIED TO REIGNITE. I THEN UNPLUGGED THE WIRES AND IT STOPPED ARCHING. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE MECHANIC WHO WORKS FOR THE DEPARTMENT AND HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT IT WAS A SENSOR FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL. WE PUT ON A NEW SENSOR DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID AND LEFT THE WIRING HARNESS UNPLUGGED. THE DAMAGE WAS BLACK SOOT MARKS ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOOD AND A BURNT WIRING HARNESS. HE ADVISED ME THAT WATER PROBABLY GOT INTO ONE OF THE COILS AND IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I DID NOT HAVE THE ENGINE WASHED. THESE COILS ARE DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE BUCKS WHEN THE COILS GO BAD AND HAS VERY LITTLE POWER. ON 07/02/03 THE SENSOR AND PROCESSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH ON 2 OCCASIONS. I LOST COMPLETE POWER OF THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY, THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. IT COSTS OVER $200.00 TO HAVE THE COILS REPLACED. I HAVE SPENT WELL OVER $600.00 IN COIL REPAIRS.
