The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 MPH, the engine began revving: however, the vehicle to accelerate properly. The transmission fault warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The vehicle was inspected by independent mechanic at the residence, and it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. The contact stated while starting his parked vehicle, he found that the vehicle would not start. The contact self-diagnosed and bypassed the starter solenoid using a screwdriver and started the vehicle. The vehicle slipped out of the park and rolled backward. The contact was backed over by the vehicle and had received injuries to his ribs and stomach. He had lacerations and abrasions to his back and chest. The contact was able to get out from under the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle which was rolling. The contact jumped into the passenger side and attempted to brake but could not. The contact attempted to push the shift lever into "park" but the gear would not engage. The vehicle rolled and crashed into the rear end of a parked vehicle. The contact's vehicle had damage to the rear bumper and the rear end of the other vehicle had the bumper and trunk crumpled. The police were not called and the contact did not seek medical attention. The contact was able to start the vehicle and drove it to his residence. The contact then examined the undercarriage and determined that the transmission linkage cable had been resting on the doughnut of the exhaust system. The contact stated that the outer cable shell had melted and the metal cable was exposed. The contact diagnosed that the exposed cable had contributed to the vehicle slipping out of gear. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 260,000.

RETURNED HOME WITH THE REAR END MAKING BANGING NOISES, KING FORD REPAIRED ON AUG 24 2004 REPLACE THE TRACTION LOCK CLUTCH PACK PART#4947 2151 MILES. AFTER THE REPAIR WE NOTICE A WHINING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR END WAS TOLD TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK, DROPED THE TRUCK OFF ON SEPT 30,2004 AND TO PICK IT BACK UP ON OCT 2, WAS TOLD BY SERVICE REP NO WORK WAS DONE. CALLER SERVICE REP THE FLOWING MONDAY AND WAS TOLD FORD WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE FIX BECAUSE ENGINEERING IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATION THIS CONDITION AND FOR US TO CALL EVERY MONTH. CALLED FORD MANY TIMES FINELY WAS TOLD TO TAKE OUR TRUCK TO LINCOLN MERCURY GARAGE IN FAIRFIELD, OHIO HAD A PERSON THAT WOULD REBUILD THE REAR AXLE WITH 4205A DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER. ASSEMBLE, FORD DID TAKE CARE OF THIS. AFTER LEAVING THE GARAGE NOTICE A WHINE IN THE REAR TURN AROUND WENT BACK TO THE GARAGE AND WAS TOLD THEY MAY HAVE THE PARTS TO TIGHT AND WILL NEED TO LOOSEN THEN UP. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS WITH STILL NO FIX WE HAVE NOW 95800 MILES AND WITH ANOTHER FIX FOR $3000.00

MY 2004 F-150 SHIFT CABLE BROKE AS I ATTEMPTED TO PUT IT IN PARK. THIS RENDERED THE VEHICLE UNABLE TO BE PUT IN PARK AND IT ROLLED BACKWARDS. THE REASON IT BROKE WAS BECAUSE OF IT RESTING AGAINST THE BOTTOM OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WHERE IT JOINS TO THE WYE PIPE ON THE DRIVER SIDE. IT BURNT THE CABLE CAUSING IT TO BREAK. THE NEXT MODEL YEAR IN 2005 THIS WAS CHANGED AS FORD REDESIGNED AND RELOCATED IT TO EXIT IN A COMPLETELY SPOT. THE HOLE THAT IT EXITS THRU IN 2004 IS PLUGGED OFF IN THE 2005 MODEL. IT WOULD SEEM THAT THIS WAS DONE DUE TO MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF WARRANTY CLAIMS AND POSSIBLE LAWSUITS ARRISING FROM THIS DANGEROUS DESIGN.

TRUCK DIED, LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 - 6 TIMES THROUGH THE YEARS STARTING AROUND 2010. SOMETIMES DRIVING DOWN FREEWAY SOMETIMES DRIVING SLOWLY INTO DRIVEWAY. BATTERY WAS CHECKED, IT WAS OKAY AND CONNECTED FINE. VARIOUS OTHER ENGINE PROBLEMS LATER INCLUDE A RATTLE NOISE AND LOW RPM. RUNNING HOT, CHUGGING ALONG LIKE RUNNING OUT OF GAS, ETC. IN ADDITION, THE OEM PART FOR THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS BLACK AND NOW IT WAS PLASTIC WITH A COATED METAL. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE CHANGE OF THE OEM PART WAS STRUCTURALLY SOUND BECAUSE THE SHIFT CABLE HAD TO BE REPLACED MORE THAN ONCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 211,240.

IT NOW FEELS AS IF THE REAR AXLE IN MOVING, GIVE AN ODD SENSATION WHEN APPLYING THE GAS PEDAL OR TAKING YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. I AM A TECHNICIAN BY TRADE, SO I PUT THE TRUCK UP ON THE LIFT AT MY SHOP AND HAVE NOTICED THE PINION IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAS SIGNIFICANT UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT. AFTER RESEARCHING A BIT, IT SEEMS THE PINION AND RING GEAR GALL THEMSELVES, I'M NOT SURE IF THE PINION BEARING FAILED CAUSING THIS. OR IF THE RING AND PINION FAILED CAUSING THE BEARING TO FAIL. WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, I PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE TO BEGIN BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY. I APPLIED A LITTLE GAS TO SLOWLY BACKUP AROUND THE TURN IN THE DRIVE. AS I WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS, I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE BECAUSE I WAS NAVIGATING PAST OTHER PARKED VEHICLES. AS I WAS CLEARING ONE OF THE VEHICLES, THE TRUCK SUDDENLY JOLTED BACKWARDS HITTING A TREE. SO THEN, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, I PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE SO THAT I COULD PULL FORWARD AWAY FROM THE TREE. AS I BEGAN TO PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE TRUCK INSTANTLY THRUST FORWARD, HITTING ANOTHER TREE, STOPPING THE TRUCK & KNOCKING THE TREE OVER. IT HAPPENED WITH SUCH POWER THAT THE WHEELS SPUN DOWN INTO THE MULCH BED BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE, PUT THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND REMOVE THE KEYS TO TURN IT OFF. WHILE THE DAMAGE ON THE BACK BUMPER WAS MINIMAL, THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK WAS EXTENSIVE & THE INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED THE TRUCK A TOTAL LOSS. THERE WAS ONE OTHER TIME, WHILE ON THE LOCAL HIGHWAY AT A STOPLIGHT, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THAT THE TRUCK BEGAN TO THRUST FORWARD ON ITS' OWN. AFTER IT FIRST ROCKED FORWARD, I PRESSED THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHICH PREVENTED IT FROM ACTUALLY MOVING FORWARD ANY MORE. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, THE TRUCK SEEMED TO RETURN TO NORMAL FUNCTIONING. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AROUND THE TIME I WAS DUE FOR A TUNE-UP SO I FIGURED IT WAS A FLUKE AND WOULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED WITH THE TUNE UP.

FORTINATELY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD WITH A RECALL AND REPAIR.

I LOOKED ONLINE AND WENT TO MULTIPLE SHOPS AND MECHANICS TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. AFTER PAYING TO REPLACE THE VCT SOLENOIDS IT WAS APPARENT THAT THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE CAUSING THE TIMING PROBLEM. FOR WEEKS I NOTICED THE TRUCK SHAKING AND AT ONE POINT IT ACTUALLY STALLED AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT INTO A BUSY ROAD AND IT STALLED AS I WAS GOING INTO THE ROAD WHICH CAUSED THE ON COMING TRAFFIC TO SLOW AND STOP TO AVOID HITTING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. AFTER SPENDING WEEKS IN THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE SHOP AND A LARGE SUM OF MONEY THEY FOUND THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE ENTIRELY. I HAVE WITNESSED THIS ISSUE HAPPENING TO MANY MANY OTHERS ONLINE AND IN PERSON WHO HAVE THE SAME YEAR RANGE WITH THE 5.4L 3 VALVE TRITON ENGINES. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR SO MANY VEHICLE TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAS UNDER 100,000 MILES. IT IS NOT ONLY VERY POOR QUALITY FOR SUCH A LARGE PRICE BUT ALSO A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE OWNER AND OTHERS AROUND THESE VEHICLES.

THE DRIVESHAFT IS NOT SERVICEABLE AT ALL AND WAS NEVER LUBED FROM THE FACTORY CAUSING BINDING ON THE SLIP YOKES WHICH IN TURN CAUSES SWING BEARING WEAR, U JOINT FAILURE AND TO THE POINT OF TRANSMISSION STUB SHAFT WEAR ULTIMATELY CAUSING FAILURE. THERE SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THESE DUE TO THE SEVERITY AND LIABILITY. WE OWNED THE TRUCK NEW AND HAVE DRIVEN WITH THIS PROBLEM UNTIL NOW. WHILE STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP NOTICED A RUMBLING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR END. I HAD THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID REPLACED, U-JOINTS CHECKED, AND BRAKES INSPECTED. (HAVE HAD THIS DONE 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 18 MONTHS AT A COST OF SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS)I MENTIONED THIS PROBLEM DURING A CASUAL CONVERSATION WITH A FRIEND WHO HAPPENED TO BE A RETIRED FORD MECHANIC. HE TOLD ME THAT WHILE HE WAS WITH FORD AS A MECHANIC HE REPLACED OR REBUILT NUMEROUS REAR SLIP DIFFERENTIALS, AND THAT IT WAS A MAJOR PROBLEM ESPECIALLY WITH THE 2004 F-150, AND THAT I SHOULD INVESTIGATE IT FURTHER. I WENT ON-LINE AND FOUND MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2004 F-150 REGARDING REAR SLIP DIFFERENTIAL \WITH VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR PROBLEMS. OBVIOUSLY FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR A VERY LONG TIME, AND HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT EXCEPT TO OFFER LAME EXCUSES AND CHARGE EXORBITANT PRICES FOR REPAIRS. DISGRUNTLED WITH DEALER, STATED I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD TRUCK AGAIN. TEN YEARS HAVE PASSED, TO THE DAY ALMOST, CHATTER JUST AS BAD IF NOT WORSE. CHANGED DIFFERENTIAL OIL 2 TIMES SINCE, SEEMS TO HELP FOR A WHILE. DO NOT PULL A BOAT, PULL A TRACTOR, TRAVEL TRAILER OR DO ANY TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION WORK WITH THIS TRUCK. IT IS DRIVEN TO WORK AND BACK AND OCCASIONALLY TAKEN ON HIGHWAY TRIPS TO BEACH AND BACK, 500 MILE ROUND TRIP. TRUCK IS PAMPERED SO THAT IT WILL LAST, NOT DRIVEN HARD WELL MAINTAINED, DRIVEN BY ADULT MALE, BASICALLY IN PERFECT SHAPE OTHER THAN DIFFERENTIAL. THEY PULLED A CODE FOR THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE SENSOR BUT SAID THEY NOTICED METAL IN THE TRANSMISSION PAN. THE RECOMMENDATION WAS A NEW TRANSMISSION ($3000) OR A REBUILT TORQUE CONVERTER. I WAS SUSPICIOUS THAT IT COULD BE SO SERIOUS AND CALLED A FAMILY MEMBER THAT WORKED WITH A MECHANIC AT ANOTHER FORD DEALER. HE MENTIONED REPLACING A TRANSMISSION IN A 2005 F-150 IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS FOR THE SAME SITUATION. THESE FAILURES ARE SO COMMON ON FORD TRUCK THAT FORD IS NOW ADDING FRICTION MODIFIERS TO THE REAR DIFFERENTIALS TO REAR THE PROBLEM AND AFTERMARKET SUPPLIERS ARE MAKING REPLACEMENTS FOR THE CLUTCH PACK LIKE DETROIT LOCKER TO ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. THIS LOCK UP ON WINTER SURFACES CAUSE THE WHEELS TO LOOSE TRACTION INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR ACCIDENTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,000.

I'M DRIVING MY TRUCK WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WILL START VIBRATING HORRIBLY, LIKE DRIVING OVER A WASHBOARD TYPE OF ROAD. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO STOP IS TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, PUT IT IN PARK, WAIT, AND THEN TRY TO RESUME DRIVING. BUT THIS DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. YOU SOMETIMES HAVE TO STOP AND CHANGE TO PARK, OR REVERSE, A COUPLE OF TIMES, BEFORE DRIVING AGAIN SO THAT THE VIBRATION GOES AWAY. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS BEFORE, AND I SEE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON "FORD OWNER WEBSITES", AND EVERYBODY IS PISSED. NOBODY CAN GET AN ANSWER FROM FORD SERVICE AS TO WHAT IS WRONG. MANY PEOPLE HAVE REPLACED MANY DIFFERENT THINGS (I.E. TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH PADS, BEARINGS, U-JOINTS, EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE OR PADS), ALL TO NO AVAIL. THEY HAVE WASTED THEIR TIME AND MONEY, AND FORD REFUSES TO LIVE UP TO THIS AWFUL AND VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. APPARENTLY, FORD KNOWS THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH 2004 F-150 TRUCKS, ESPECIALLY, BUT WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT. THE 2004 F150 AND I ASSUME EXPEDITIONS HAD UNDERSIZED FRONT BRAKE ROTORS AND CALIPERS AND WERE OUTLINED IN A SERVICE TECH BULLETIN FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIAGNOSING THE FRONT END SHAKING/SHIMMING DURING BRAKING. *TR THIS IS MY OPINION SHOULD HAVE FALLEN UNDER A MANDATORY RECALL DUE TO THE SERIOUS NATURE OF POOR ENGINEERING. NO RECALL AND OUT OF POCKET $$$. THE SAME HOLDS TRUE FOR THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WHICH IN MY CASE HAS BEEN REPLACED (3) TIMES AND AGAIN FORD PUBLISHED A TECH BULLETIN OUTLINING THE FACT THAT THE '04 REAR DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING WAS SUBJECT TO FAULTY MACHINING CAUSING RAPID WEAR ON RING/PINION AND BEARINGS. I BELIEVE THESE TWO DEFECTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED DUE TO THE FACT THAT FAILURE OF EITHER COMPONENT COULD RESULT IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. I TRULY BELIEVE FORD TRIED TO COVER UP/WHITE WASH THESE DEFECTS. FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CONTACTED AND FORD TOWED VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER, FORD DEALER "REPROGRAMMED" SOMETHING, SAID IT HAD MOISTURE IN A SENSOR, CAUSING THE 4X4 TO TRY TO ENGAGE. (SEPTEMBER 12, 2011, 69,980 MILES) AT HIGHWAY SPEED, (58 MPH) DURING MILD ACCELERATION, 1500 - 1800 RPM, A MILD GRINDING SOUND FROM UNDER FRONT END, BY TAKING FOOT OFF GAS PEDDLE THEN REAPPLYING GAS THE GRINDING SOUND STOPS. CONTACTED FORD DEALER, THEY SAID DRIVE IT IN, CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DEPARTMENT, THEY SAID TO HAVE DEALER CHECK IT OUT, FORD DEALER INVESTIGATED AND SAID THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH VOLUME OF VACUUM THAT IS NECESSARY TO PREVENT THE 4X4 SYSTEM FROM ENGAGING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FORD DEALER INDICATED THAT IT MAYBE UNSAFE TO DRIVE LIKE THIS AND THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE VACUUM SYSTEM TO FAIL LIKE THIS, REPRESENTATIVE AT FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DEPARTMENT SAID THAT THEIR DEALER KNOWS HOW TO DIAGNOSE AND CURE PROBLEMS BEST, AND SINCE THE VEHICLE HAS MORE THAN 36K IT IS NOT A CONCERN TO FORD. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN UNUSUAL KNOCKING FROM THE TOP PORTION OF THE ENGINE. THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT ABOVE THE CREW CAB WOULD BECOME FILLED WITH WATER THAT WAS LEAKING INTO THE VEHICLE. ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD BECOME RESISTANT TO ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ABRUPTLY. WHEN DOING SO, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL GAUGE AND TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

ATTEMPTED TYPICAL VIBRATION RELATED REPAIRS. TIRES COMPLETELY ROTATED AND REBALANCED. TRANSMISSION FLUSHED AND FLUID CHANGED. DIFFERENTIAL FLUID CHANGED. TRANSFER CASE FLUID CHANGED. ENGINE ELECTRONICALLY CHECKED FOR OPERATIONAL ISSUES OR "CODES". NONE. WHEN VIBRATION BEGINS, PUT F150 INTO NEUTRAL TO CHECK FOR POSSIBLE ENGINE MOUNT PROBLEMS. 2004 FORD F-150: THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF 4WD WHEN DRIVING. IT WILL HOWEVER SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. 1. DRIVING THE TRUCK AT ABOUT 60 MPH AND HEARD A STRANGE WINDING SOUND. 2. BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN TO PULL OVER AND THE TRUCK SEEMED TO GO INTO A LOWER GEAR THAN WARRANTED BY THE SPEED. STOPPED TRUCK AND MOVED THE 4WD SELECTION KNOB TO 4WH, AND THEN 4WL AND BACK TO 2WD. ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE TRUCK IN PARKING LOT AGAIN. TRUCK SEEMED TO BE STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. TRANS FAULT DISPLAYED ON LCD DISPLAY AND O/D LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY BLINKING. READ OWNERS MANUAL AND IT SAID THE TRUCK THE TRUCK WOULD GO INTO "LIMP MODE" INTENDED TO ALLOW YOU TO DRIVE AT A SLOW SPEED. WHILE DRIVING IN LIMP MODE AT ABOUT 15-20 MPH THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO LOCK UP. PULLED TRUCK OVER AGAIN AND PUT IT IN PARK. ONE YEAR AGO MY 4 WHEEL DRIVE STOPPED WORKING. MY F-150 WAS 47 MONTHS OLD AND PURCHASED TO GO IN SNOW AND OFF ROAD. THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE BROKE AND THE LIMITED SLIP REAR AXLE (ALSO DEFECTIVE) ONLY SPINS THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL. NOW, IF YOU GET ON WET GRASS YOU ARE STUCK AND NEED A TOW. I TOOK MY F-150 TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY DID A $100 DIAGNOSTIC AND SAID THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED. FORD DEALER SAID THIS 4X4 MODULE (INTEGRAL PART OF THE PCM) WAS NOT COVERED BY THE 8 YEAR 80,000 MILE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE WARRANTY BECAUSE THE F-150 WOULD STILL PASS EMISSIONS TESTING (THE OTHER TWO THIRDS OF THE PCM STILL WORKED CORRECTLY). THE COST ESTIMATE STARTED AT $1100 TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE PCM, AND THE DEALER WAS WILLING TO NEGOTIATE ON THE REPAIR PRICE. THE REPAIR WAS NOT AFFORDABLE FOR ME AT THIS TIME. THE REASON I PURCHASED THE TRUCK WAS TO GO IN THE SNOW, BUT IT IS WORSE THAN ANY OTHER VEHICLE IN THE SNOW NOW WITHOUT THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE. ON JUNE 29, 2009 WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A BUSY CITY STREET THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING APPEARED TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. THERE WAS NO NOISE OR ANY INDICATION OF THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE THAT HAD OCCURRED. THE ENGINE REVVED WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THE TRANSMISSION. WHILE TRYING TO AVOID TRAFFIC AS THE VEHICLE SLOWED I ATTEMPTED TO CLEAR TRAFFIC LANES AS SAFELY AS POSSIBLE. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTED DOWN INTO SECOND GEAR AS I SLOWED TO SEE IF THIS HAD ANY EFFECT ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY RESPONDED AND I PULLED OUT OF TRAFFIC LANES. I IMMEDIATELY CHECKED THE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS IN STANDARD OPERATING RANGE. I THEN DISENGAGED THE OVERDRIVE OF THE TRANSMISSION AND THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME. AN INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE FOUND THE OVERDRIVE CLUTCH PACK FAILED. THIS VEHICLE IS WELL MAINTAINED, DOES NOT TOW ANYTHING AND IS DRIVEN TO AND FROM WORK, 30 MILES EACH WAY. THE REPAIR IS $2500.00 FOR A 5 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH 69,700 MILES. I BELIEVE THIS STANDARD EQUIPMENT FROM FORD WAS NOT DESIGNED TO PERFORM AT AN ADEQUATE PERFORMANCE LEVEL AS EXPECTED FROM A CONSUMER. I TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CORRESPONDED WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING THIS INCIDENT. FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS UNWILLING TO ASSIST IN ANY WAY TO EITHER FULLY OR PARTIALLY REIMBURSE ME THE $1300 REPAIR BILL DUE TO THE FACT THE 75,000 MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD ELAPSED. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN USED TO TOW ANYTHING AND HAS NEVER BEEN ABUSED. FLUID FLUSH ALLEVIATED THE ISSUE, BUT SLIPPING RETURNED. AT 60 MPH TRASMISSION SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL MOMENTARILY AT RANDOM TIMES. POWER REAR SLIDING WINDOW DOES NOT WORK; FAILED WITHIN FIRST 2-3 MONTHS; NO COMPUTER CODE TO DETAIL THE ISSUE SO FORD WILL NOT FIX REGARDLESS OF CONFIRMED FAILURE AND WARRANTY COVERAGE. TL*- WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH THE RIGHT REAR AXLE ON THE 2004 FORD F-150 CRACKED. THERE WAS NO INDICATION, ANY TYPE OF VIBRATION, OR WARNING BEFORE THE INCIDENT. THE HUB STAYED ATTACHED TO THE WHEEL AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE RIGHT REAR AXLE CRACKED WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE NO STEERING. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A MEDIAN. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED EVERY 3,000 MILES, AS WELL AS RECENTLY GETTING 4 NEW TIRES. THE CONTACT COULD PROVIDE ANY INVOICE AND AND AN ACCIDENT REPORT. *AK

MY F-150 SUPERCREW HAS DEVELOPED A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVETRAIN, PRIMARILY A LOUD GRINDING NOISE CAN BE HEARD UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED I THOUGHT MY VEHICLE HAD RUN OVER SOME TYPE OF METALLIC OBJECT ON THE ROADWAY. THE NOISE WENT AWAY AFTER I MERGED ONTO A HIGHWAY. FOUR DAYS LATER I WAS OPERATING ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE SAME TYPE NOISE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS IS DEPRESSED AND THE NOISE DOES NOT DECREASE WHEN THE GAS IS LET OFF. ONLY AFTER DECREASING SPEED UNDER 15 MPH DOES THE NOISE GO AWAY AND THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT SLAMS OUT OF GEAR JUST PRIOR TO THAT. AN ASSOCIATE OF MINE WHO OWNS A 2005 F-150 WITH THE EXACT SAME TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AND RECENTLY HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I CONTACTED THIS DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 30 TRANSMISSIONS ON 2004-2005 MODEL YEARS AND THE ISSUE WAS A "KNOWN ONE". I WOULD LIKE TO SEE FORD MANDATED TO WARRANTY THE DRIVETRAINS IN THESE TRUCKS BEYOND THE NORMAL PERIOD. *NM

THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING NORMALLY. HOWEVER, THE CENTRAL COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE RESET. THIS TRUCK HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN THE DRIVE TRAIN AND THE DEALER IS NOW REFUSING TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM ANY LONGER, CLAIMING THAT IT IS A "CHARACTERISTIC OF THE TRUCK." THE PROBLEM CAN BE DESCRIBED AS A VIOLENT LURCHING OF THE WHOLE TRUCK ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD, METALLIC "CLUNK" SOUND IN THE DRIVE TRAIN. THIS OCCURS FREQUENTLY DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS BUT ESPECIALLY WHEN ACCELERATING UP A HILL, OUT OF A TURN, OR UP OUT OF A DIP IN THE ROAD. THE PROBLEM HAS EXISTED IN THE TRUCK SINCE I PURCHASED IT NEW IN MAY 2005. I'VE HAD THE DEALER ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AT 3,000, 6,000, 12,000, 18,000, AND AT 22,000. THEY'VE ATTEMPTED VARIOUS REPAIRS, BUT NOTHING HAS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. AT ONE POINT THEY TOLD ME THAT THE WRONG SIZE DRIVESHAFT WAS INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY. THEY REPLACED IT WITH A SHORTER ONE, BUT THIS DID NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. AT FIRST I THOUGHT I WAS JUST FACING A PROBLEM THAT WAS DIFFICULT TO SOLVE, BUT AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, I KNOW NOW THAT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS INSTRUCTED ALL DEALERSHIPS TO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT REPAIR. EXPERIENCE CONSISTENT SIGNIFICANT JERK/CLUNK/SLAM AFTER COASTING IN 3RD GEAR AND ACCELERATE DOWN SHIFTING INTO 2ND GEAR. SERVICE BULLETIN SAYS NORMAL AND TO NOT REPAIR, YET MY ISSUE IS NOT INTERMITTENT AND IS A SIGNIFICANTLY NOTICEABLE AND UNCOMFORTABLE JERK IN THE DRIVELINE THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT NORMAL PERFORMANCE FROM ANY TRANSMISSION AWARE OF WITHOUT A VERY AGGRESSIVE SHIFT KIT INSTALLED AND A PLETHORA OF HORSEPOWER. TOOK TO DEALER AND SERVICE TECH HANDED ME SERVICE BULLETINS AND DIDN'T EVEN LOG INTO COMPUTER THAT VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR THE ISSUE. MADE NOTES AND SENT TO SHOP FOREMAN AS COMMUNICATION OF MY CONCERN ABOUT THE LACK OF PAPERWORK AND RECORD, AND THE LACK OF SERVICE. WHILE TRAVELING A SMOOTH STRETCH OF HIGHWAY THE TRUCK STARTED TO VIBRATE. THIS VIBRATION INTENSIFIED UNTIL THE WHOLE TRUCK WAS SHAKING. AFTER STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE SHUDDERING CONTINUED UNTIL I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND TURNED AROUND IN A PARKING LOT TO GO BACK TO A NEARBY FORD DEALER. AT THIS POINT IT DID NOT SHAKE AGAIN. THE FORD DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHECKED THE WHOLE TRUCK OVER THE NEXT DAY AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING LOOSE OR DAMAGED. THE SHUDDERING FELT LIKE A UNIVERSAL JOINT GONE BAD. THERE HAS BEEN NO REPEAT OF THIS SINCE THE TRUCK WAS NEW. THERE HAS BEEN AN ONGOING SHUDDER WHILE MAKING TURNS FROM A STANDSTILL. MY LOCAL MECHANIC PUT AN ADDITIVE IN THE DIFFERENTIAL AND THIS SEEMS TO HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS MAY BE RELATED TO THE ORIGINAL VIBRATION. *NM

I HAVE OWNED A 2004 FORD F-150 FX4 WITH ONLY 14,000 MILES ON IT FOR 3 WEEKS AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP AT FORD FOR 4 DAYS NOW AND THEY CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. DT: ON 8-15-05 TRANSMISSION SLIPPED WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT 60 MPH. THE OWNER HAD TO PULL OVER. THE TRUCK STARTED TO BUCK AS IF IT WAS GOING IN AND OUT OF GEAR. NO WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THE OWNER HAD TO PULL OFF SINCE TRAFFIC WAS BUSY, AND CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID, AND THERE WAS NO TRANSMISSION FLUID. OWNER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP, WHO ADVISED THE OWNER THAT THE TRUCK WAS MISSING ONE QUART OF FLUID, BUT COULD NOT FIND ANY OTHER PROBLEMS. THE DEALERSHIP FILLED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE OWNER CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID A FEW MINUTES AGO AND IT WAS OVERFILLED. THE OWNER'S MANUAL INDICATED THAT THE HIGH FLUID LEVEL COULD BE AND INDICATION OF HAVING AN OVERHEATING PROBLEM. THE OWNER FELT THAT IT MAY BE A DECEPTION ON THE PART OF THE DEALERSHIP. HE FELT THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS WARPED DUE TO BEING OPERATED WITHOUT ADEQUATE FLUID. THE DEALERSHIP DID FIND THE NUMBER 8 CYLINDER WAS MISFIRING, WHICH DID NOT SEEM TO RELATE TO THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS FIRST PURCHASED, THE OWNER NOTICED WHEN GOING UP A HILL IT STOPPED AND ROLLED. THE OWNER HAD TO KEEP THE FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO KEEP IT FROM ROLLING BACK. THE OWNER NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. THE OWNER HAS NOT CONTACTED FORD YET.*AK

DRIVE TRAIN VIBRATION THOUGHT THE CAB FLOOR AND STEERING WHEEL OF VEHICLE. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR AND 6 NEW TIRES, DRIVESHAFT AND NEW CLUTCH LOCKING PLATES. NEW RING AND PINION GEAR THE PROBLEM STILL IS THERE. THE VIBRATION PROGRESSIVELY GETS WORSE AFTER LONG TRIPS. ALSO THERE IS A CLUNK IN THE DRIVE LINE ON ACCELERATION AND A SEVERE TO MODERATE SHUDDER . FORD SAYS THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE NEW BODY STYLE TRUCKS WHICH IS TOTALLY FALSE. FORD SEEMS TO SET THEIR STANDARD AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS SET ASIDE. THE LIVE WITH IT ATTITUDE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. WHINE BECAME LOUDER OVER TIME. DEALER INSPECTED THE INSIDE GEAR AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. MANUFACTURER OUT OF STOCK. 1 MONTH ON ORDER, NEW GEAR AND PINION ARRIVED. DEALER INST. AT 800 TO 1000 MILES "WHINE" REAPPEARS. DEALER AGAIN INSPECTS AND ORDERS 2ND GEAR AND PINION. REP MADE WITHIN A WEEK OF DIAG IMMEDIATELY NOTICED A LOW SPEED "RUMMING" NOISE. RETURNED TO DEALER. MY 2004 FORD F150 WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND AC ON MAX. I LEFT IT RUNNING WHILE I UNLOADED THE BACK SEAT OF SEVERAL ITEMS. I THEN CLOSED THE DOORS AND PROCEEDED TO UNLOAD 4 CASES OF WATER FROM THE BED OF THE TRUCK. I MADE 5 TRIPS FROM THE TRUCK TO THE HOUSE AND WHEN I RETURNED AND PUT THE TAILGATE BACK UP MY TRUCK TOOK OFF TOWARDS MY HOUSE AND IMPACTED THE BRICK WALL OF THE GARARGE (APPROX 20 TO 25 FOOT DISTANCE). I TRIED TO RUN FROM THE BACK AND OPEN THE DOOR AND APPLY THE BRAKE BUT THE TRUCK HIT THE HOUSE AS I GOT THE DOOR OPEN. THE SHIFTER WAS STILL IN PARK. I APPLYED THE BRAKE AND PUT IT IN REVERSE AND MOVED IT BACK TO REVEAL THE DAMAGE. MY WIFE AND I TESTED THIS AFTERWARDS TO ATTEMPT TO DUPLICATE THIS WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO REPRODUCE IT. MY HOUSE AND THE TRUCK ARE DAMAGED AND I FEEL THAT THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO REALLY HURT SOMEONE. I PURCHASED A NEW 2004 F-150 REGULAR CAB PICKUP IN MAY OF 04. IT HAS HAD A SERIOUS VIBRATION SINCE NEW. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS "TEETHING" PROBLEMS, GETTING BROKEN IN AS IT WERE. THE DEALER REPLACED TWO DRIVE SHAFTS, A DAMPENER AND A COMPLETE REAR END DOWN TO THE BREAK ROTORS. NONE OF THIS HAS HELPED WITH THE VIBRATION. I TOOK IT TO A SECOND DEALER AFTER THE ORIGINAL REFUSED TO SWAP THE TRUCK OUT AS A GOOD FAITH GESTURE. INSTEAD THEY WANTED TO "TRADE" THE TRUCK. I WAS OFFERD TEN THOUSAND PLUS LESS THAN I HAD PURCHASED THE TRUCK FOR, LESS THAN FIVE MONTHS EARLIER. THE TRUCK I WANTED TO "SWAP" FOR WENT UP OVER SIX THOUSAND MORE THAN THE STICKER PRICE. THE SECOND DEALER KEPT IT MORE THAN TWO WEEKS AND COULD NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THEIR SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL TTRUCKS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND HAD NO LUCK WITH RECTIFYING IT. THE ORIGINAL SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME IT WAS A LEMON, THE SECOND SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME IT WAS A LEMON. NEITHER WOULD PUT IT IN WRITING, FOR FEAR OF JOB LOSS. FORD HAS BEEN NO HELP WITH THE ISSUE, AFTER REPEATED PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. THIS IS MY ONLY "RELIABLE" VEHICLE. IT NOW HAS @17800.0 MILES ON IT MAINLY HIGHWAY. NOW AT THIS POINT VIBRATION IS ONLY BETWEEN 50 - 65. (3) TRUCK WAS IN SHOP FROM 31 MAY TO 10 JUN 05. REPLACED (A INSULATOR ASY - ENGINE SUPPORT), (DRIVE SHAT ASSEMBY -REAR) REMOVED AND INSTALLED. (INSULATOR - POWERTRAIN REAR SUPPORT) REPLACED. I DO NOT HAVE OLD PARTS, DEALER KEPT THEM. VIBRATION IS STILL THERE. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS ONLY IN 373 REAR ENDS. DT: HAD TO PUT 4 SETS OF BRAKES ON VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR. THE ROTORS WERE GETTING GROOVED SO BADLY THAT VEHICLE PULLS OFF THE ROAD. THE CONSUMER TALKED TO FORD, AND THEY IGNORED HIM. THE SECOND PROBLEM REVOLVES AROUND A TRANSMISSION THAT SKIPS IN AN OUT OF GEAR. WHEN THE CONSUMER CALLED IN TO COMPLAIN SHE WAS TOLD BY A SALES REPRESENTATIVE THAT IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT THEY DID NOT BUILD THE TRUCK. NO LOANER CARS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND LEFT RUNNING. WE HAD 3 COOLERS IN THE BACK SEAT, SO WE LEFT IT RUNNING WITH THE AIR ON. WE HAD DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 300 MILES TOTAL THAT DAY WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING ON HIGH. WE UNLOADED THE COOLERS 1 AT A TIME. THIS TOOK APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES. WE WERE STANDING IN OUR KITCHEN WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SOMETHING SMASHED INTO THE HOUSE AND THEN WE SEE OUR VEHICLE "DRIVING" BY THE WINDOW UP OUR DRIVEWAY. IT SLID ALONG THE HOUSE AND HIT THE GARAGE (GARAGE IS DETACHED). MY HUSBAND JUMPED IN THE VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN REVERSE AND TURNED IT OFF BEFORE IT WENT THROUGH THE GARAGE. IT HAD HIT THE CENTER POLE, AND WAS STOPPED BY THAT. THERE WAS NO ONE OUTSIDE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. WE CONTACTED THE FORD DEALER AND WERE TOLD IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE VEHICLE TO COME OUT OF PARK BY ITSELF. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS, AND FOUND THAT FORD HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM IN THE PAST, SO I THINK IT IS POSSIBLE. THERE IS NO OTHER EXPLANATION FOR THIS HAPPENING. THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND OUTSIDE, AND WE WERE IN THE HOUSE. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR OVER 30 MINUTES AND WE HAD BEEN IN IT 4 DIFFERENT TIMES (IN THE BACK SEAT) UNLOADING STUFF, SO THERE IS NO WAY IT WAS NOT IN PARK. WE TESTED THIS TOO, IF YOU LEAVE IT IN DRIVE, AS SOON AS YOU STEP OFF THE BRAKE IT ROLLS FORWARD RIGHT AWAY. WE ALSO DO NOT BELIEVE IT WAS A "PRANK" BY ANYONE, AS THERE WAS NO ONE AROUND OUTSIDE AND MY HUSBANDS WALLET WAS ON THE DASH AND MY PURSE WAS IN THE PASSANGER SEAT AND BOTH WERE NOT TOUCHED. BOUGHT 4X4, SALESMAN SAID THE TRUCK MOST LIKELY NEEDED WHEEL BALLANCING, OR IT WAS OUT OF ROUND. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR TWO DAYS LATER TO ADDRESS THE SHIMMY/VIBRATION PROBLEM.THE MECHANIC HAD THE TRUCK ON LIFT FOR TWENTY MINUTES. RESULT, DEALER HAS TO ORDER A PART FOR A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT REQUIRES A VIBRATION DAMPENING DEVICE TO BE INSTALLED. THIS IS INTERESTING, THER IS A WHOLE LOT OF NEW F-150 TRUCKS AT THIS DEALERSHIP. I DROVE TWO AND BOTH HAD SAME PROBLEM. THEY (FORD), HAVE A KNOWN SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS PROBLEM AND YET AS PLENTIFUL AS THIS PROBLEM IS ON THE LOT THEY HAVE TO ORDER THE PART, AGAIN FOR A KNOW PROBLEM DOCUMENTD BY THEIR BULLETIN THAT THIS PART IS REQUIRED AND THEY DON'T HAVE IT IN STOCK TO FIX MY TRUCK OR THE OTHER ONE I TEST DROVE ON THEIR LOT OR THE NEXT ONE AND SO-ON AND SO-ON.....AFTER READING ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS THERE HAD BETTER BE A FIX FOR THIS OR I WILL SURELY DELIVER MY $40,000 WORTH OF INQUIRIES AND ADVERTISEMENTS. I HAVE A 2004 F-150 (EXTENDED CAB). WHILE TAKING OFF, TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT- YOU WILL FEEL A VIBRATION IN THE REAR. THIS DEVELOPED APPROX. 1 MONTH AFTER RECEIVING THE NEW TRUCK. I HAVE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO MY SERVICE DEPARTMENT, AND THE SERVICE MANAGER FELT THE VIBRATION AS WELL. HE ORDERED A WHOLE NEW REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY, AND THIS WAS REPLACED. HE EXPLAINED THIS PROBLEM WAS DUE TO WHEN TURNING- ONE WHEEL IS MOVING FASTER THAN THE OTHER, WHICH SOMETIMES CAUSES THIS VIBRATION IF IT WAS NOT PROPERLY LUBRICATED. I FELT THE VIBRATION MORE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS COLD, AND THE AXLE WAS NOT WARM. AFTER THE FIRST REPAIR, THE NEW AXLE WORKED FINE- BUT THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED- APPROX. 1 MONTH LATER. I ONLY HAVE 6500 MILES ON THE TRUCK, AND THIS WILL BE IT'S 3RD REAR AXLE. IF ANY ONE ELSE IS EXPERIENCING THIS, MY VEHICLE'S REAR END WAS REPLACED, AND WILL NEED TO BE REPAIRED AGAIN. *JB

AT SPEEDS OF 52, 54 MPH THE REAR END MAKES A "WINING NOISE" LIKE THE PINION GEAR IS BAD. TOOK TRUCK IN FOR SERIVCE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID FORD SAYS THE NOISE IS NORMAL ENGNIEERING. I DON'T AGREE AND AM VERY ANNOID WITH THE DEALER AND FORD.

"NEW 2004" F-150 WITH 4X4 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE IN DRIVE POSITION POINTED UPHILL ON GRADES GREATER THAN 20 DEGREE WILL ROLL BACKWARDS ( AS IF IN NEUTRAL) . TRANSMISSION WILL NOT HOLD VEHICLE IN PLACE! SAME RESULTS IN D2,D1, AND REVERSE. SEEN BY DEALER AND CONFIRMED TO BE "NORMAL" CONDITION. BUT NO WHERE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL IS THIS CONDITION STATED. TESTED 4 OTHER VEHICLES, SAME CONDITION RESULTED. IF THIS IS IN FACT "NORMAL" IT NEEDS TO BE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL TO WARN CONSUMERS! *CB
