Odometer Fraud. The contact sold a 2006 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was sold with approximately 212,000 miles but later discovered that the buyer had relisted the vehicle for sale with an advertised mileage of 135,713. The vehicle was a private sale. Local authorities had been notified.

while in drive, accelerating to highway speeds or cruising around 30 mph it will downshift and jump to about 4000 PMS's and not shift up into 3rd gear. It blown 1 engine and I have replaced the transmissions, taken it to a Ford dealership and they weren't able to help me. I've replaced the ECM and anti-theft modal also and the symptoms still persist. i am i in for over 11K for the new engine and transmission, and another $100 on the ECM and anti-theft modal plus the shop charges. The truck has under 190,000 miles before any of this started. I am the 2nd owner an had for less than 3k miles before any of the problems started. Now I see the 2015-2017 F-150s are having the same problems getting recalled. is there anything involving the earlier Triton's engines?

There is a very common problem with the brake light always being on due to a short circuit in the cluster, many owners have reported this problem for several manufacturing years, the brake light is always on even though there is no problem with the brakes. This creates a great hazard because if you do have a brake problem since the light is always on you will never know, and you may be in a fatal vehicle accident. Ford motor company should replace or repair all clusters that have this problem.I just purchased this vehicle with this very common problem. Your inspector can google it and will find this is indeed a very common problem.

MY 2006 F150 FORD LARIAT. IT STARTED WITH THE FRONT MAP LIGHT ARE SOME LIGHT NOT SURE WHAT IT'S CALLED. IT WOULD COME ON BY ITSELF JUST SITTING STILL WITH ENGINE OFF. AND NO ONE IN THE TRUCK. IT WOULD DO THIS ALL HOURS OF DAY AND NIGHT. THEN THE DOOR JAR LIGHT CAME ON GOING DOWN THE HWY. AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. WE STOP TO CHECK ALL DOES AND THEY ALL WAS SHUT. IT STAYS ON AND WANT GO OFF. THEN WITH ALL THAT GOING ON ALL MY POWER WINDOWS STOP WORKING. THEY WAS WORKING FINE BUT WHEN THE DIME LIGHT PROBLEM. AND THE DOOR A JAR LIGHT ON WHEN YOU GET IN THE TRUCK AND TURN KEY ON. I HAVE TALK TO PEOPLE THAT OWN A FORD AND MOST ALL FORD'S HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. I ALSO HAVE GOOGLED THESE PROBLEMS AND A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS. FORD F-150 FX4 140,000.0 MILES. BRAKE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS STARTING AROUND 2010 WITH 76,000.0 MILES. THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED AND FLUSHED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THE PROBLEM STARTED. REPLACED BRAKE CABLE E-BRAKE SWITCH ETC... EVERYTHING POINTS TO THE CLUSTER AND THERE ARE MULTIPLE WEBSITES THE VERIFY THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT BEGINNING FROM 2004-2010. IN SOME STATES THIS IS AN INDPECTABLE ITEM ADDING ADDITIONAL AND MANDATORY REPAIRS TO BE MADE. THE CLUSTER REPAIR PART COST ANYWHERE FROM $400.00-$600.00 AND WITH LABOR COULD RUN WELL OVER $1000.00 PENDING ON THE MODEL OF THE F-150. MY BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THIS ISSUE HAS GONE WITHOUT A RECALL FROM FORD OR THE NHTSA.

ADDITIONALLY, THE HIGH BEAMS IMPLEMENT AND THEN YOU CANNOT MAKE THE HIGH BEAMS TURN OFF. MAY ALL BE RELATED BUT, SEEMS LIKE 3 SEPARATE ISSUES, ALL SEEM TO BE RELATED TO THE ELECTRICAL PANEL. BLINKING BEGINS WHILE STATIONARY UPON STARTING TRUCK AND CONTINUES WHILE IN MOTION, INDICATES PROBLEM WITH EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL INCLUDING SPEEDOMETER AND STATES AUTO LOCKS FAIL, ALONG WITH BLINKING FAILURE OF ALL SYSTEMS STATING RESET BUT PUSHING RESET DOES NOT APPEAR TO FIX ANYTHING.....ONLY TIME FIXES IT.

IT IS IN THE SHOP NOW TO HAVE THE SMART JUNCTION BOX REPLACED. FUSES STARTED BLOWING. AT FIRST IT WAS THE RADIO AND THE FUSE WAS REPLACED THEN THE OTHERS STARTED TO BLOW.

MY TRUCK CAUGHT ON FIRE YESTERDAY. DUE TO A HEAT SHIELD MISSING OVER PASSENGER SIDE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CAUSED THE PLASTIC GROMMETS THAT HOLD THE SOUND BARRIER MATERIAL ON THE FLOORBOARD TO DROP AND HANG ON TOP OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER UNTIL THE MATERIAL CAUGHT ON FIRE. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS STILL INVESTIGATING HOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HEAT SHIELD WAS MISSING. LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT THE TRUCK AND IT WAS USED, THEY HAD TO DO SERVICE WORK ON IT BECAUSE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK WITH A BROKEN FRONT COIL SPRING AND THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK TUBE HAD ROTTED. EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK WAS MISSING A HEAT SHIELD, I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE ANY KIND OF FLAMMABLE MATERIAL NEAR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER JUST IN CASE A HEAT SHIELD HAPPENS TO ROT AND FALL OFF OR FOR ANY REASON THE HEAT SHIELD IS MISSING .THE FIRE TRAVELED THROUGH THE MATERIAL ALMOST TO THE TOP OF MY ENGINE. AFTER I GOT THE FLAMES OUT IT WAS STILL SMOLDERING AND SMOLDERED UP INTO A SPACE I COULD NOT REACH TO NOR SEE. I ALSO BELIEVE A FIRE RETARDANT SYSTEM SHOULD BE CREATED TO DOUSE FLAMES IN A SECTION OF AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT THAT CANNOT BE REACHED AND WOULD PROBABLY SAVE COUNTLESS LIVES PROPERTY AND INVESTED MONEY INTO VEHICLE AND OTHER THINGS THAT A VEHICLE ON FIRE COULD DESTROY.

THERE WAS NEVER ANY SOFTWARE UPDATES, AND NOW THE VEHICLE REQUIRES THEM. THE ERROR IN THE CLUSTER SOFTWARE RECALL WAS SUPPOSE TO BE REPAIRED AND I READ FROM THE EXPERTS ALL SOFTWARE SHOULD HAVE BEEN UPGRADED WITH THE CLUSTER ERROR. THERE ARE 42 P.M. FORD AND NHSTA KNEW OR KNOWS ABOUT ON MY VEHICLE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE, I AM A 100% DAV AND MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROKEN DOWN. THE 2006 HARLEY DAVIDSON F-150 THAT COST SO MUCH WITH IT'S ON BOARD COMPUTER SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. IN JUNE 2015, THE AIR BAG LIGHT IN MY FORD F150 ILLUMINATED, INDICATING A PROBLEM. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE DEPLOYABLE RESTRAINT SYSTEM, SPECIFICALLY THE PRETENSIONER, HAD MALFUNCTIONED AND POSSIBLY WOULD FAIL TO FUNCTION AS INTENDED IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN INDICATED THAT THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM IS CONNECTED TO MY AIR BAGS, WHICH MIGHT FAIL TO WORK IN A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. AFTER PAYING THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE, I WAS GIVEN A REPAIR ESTIMATE OF AN ADDITIONAL $392.21. NOT WANTING TO RISK INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, I HAD THE PRETENSIONER REPLACED. THE BUCKLE PRETENSIONER IS A CRITICAL SAFETY DEVICE THAT SHOULD NEVER FAIL UNDER NORMAL USE. MY VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT SOME PRETENSIONERS HAVE FAILED DUE TO SIMPLE SEAT POSITION ADJUSTMENTS, WHICH, TO ME, IS EVIDENCE OF A POOR DESIGN. FORD HAS RECENTLY RECALLED MANY 2013 ' 2014 VEHICLES FOR POORLY MADE PRETENSIONERS, RECOGNIZING THE SAFETY ISSUE SURROUNDING THEM. I REQUESTED THAT FORD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COST OF THE PRETENSIONER BUCKLE; HOWEVER, FORD DENIED THIS REQUEST. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL PRETENSIONER AND ALL RECEIPTS AVAILABLE.

THREE HOURS LATER, WALTON'S HAD TO REPLACE AND RESLEEVE NUMBER THREE CYLANDERHEAD AND REPLACED ELECTRICAL SPARKPLUG WIRE, PLUS REPLACED ALL EIGHT SPARK PLUGS. ALL AT A COST OF $543.00. NOT ONLY THIS HAPPENED TO ME BUT WALTON'S STATED THAT I WAS THE 10TH PERSON THIS WEEK THIS HAS HAPPENED TOO. I PRESENTED THE PART TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK (HALL'S FORD MOTOR COMPANY) BRAND NEW IN 2006 AND PAID CASH TO THE SUM OF $30,000.00. I ASKED THEM IF THEY KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM WITH TRITON V8'S. THEY STATED THEY DID BUT NO KNOW RECALLS AND THEY TOO HAD SEVERAL REPAIRS COME IN FOR THE SAME THING IN THE PASS WEEK. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS AWARE OF THIS MATTER BUT NEVER LET THERE CUSTOMERS KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM YET BECAUSE THERE WAS NO RECALL ON FILE TO LET THEM KNOW. THIS THING WHERE THE SPARK PLUGS COME FLYING OUT OF AN ENGINE CAN BE VERY HAZARDS, IT COULD CAUSE A CRASH OR EVEN GIVE A PERSON A HEART ATTACK BECAUSE THE TRUCK SOUNDS LIKE WORLD WAR III GOING OFF UNDER THE HOOD AND IT MAY EVEN START A FIRE. THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BY FORD.

THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD HAD TO BE REMOVED FROM THE ENGINE TO REMOVE THE FRACTURED SPARK PLUG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS NOT OFFERED A REMEDY FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

FORD'S IWE SOLENOID HAS A TENDENCY TO MALFUNCTION DUE TO A POOR DESIGN. TSB 06-8-15 WAS ISSUED TO REPLACE THESE SOLENOIDS, BUT ONLY IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND ONLY IF IT WAS GIVING A PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE WAS IN STORAGE FOR 5 YEARS AND AFTER IT WAS BROUGHT OUT AND TO NY, THE WATER LEAKED ON THE SOLENOID DUE TO THE INADEQUATE DESIGN, CAUSING THE IWE'S TO MALFUNCTION. I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT EXACTLY IT DID BUT DRIVING THE CAR DOWN THE ROAD, IT CAUSED ME TO FEEL LIKE I WAS DRIVING OVER SMALL SPEED BUMPS WITH THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIRE. WENT TO START TRUCK AND ENGINE WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT FIRE. I TRIED THE STARTING FLUID TEST TO SEE IF IT WAS AN IGNITION PROBLEM OR FUEL PROBLEM. GAVE A LITTLE SHOT OF STARTING FLUID INTO THE INTAKE AND THEN TRIED TO START. MOTOR ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO START BUT NEVER STARTED BEINGS I DIDN'T GIVE IT ENOUGH STARTING FLUID TO START BECAUSE I'M NOT A FAN OF USING IT. WITH THAT I ELIMINATED THE IGNITION HAD TO BE FUEL. I GOT ON THE INTERNET AND SEARCHED NO START PROBLEM FOR 2006 F-150 AND FOUND A YOU TUBE VIDEO OF THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE RUSTING OUT. WENT OUT AND DROPPED SPARE TIRE AND TOOK THE CONTROL MODULE OFF THE CROSS MEMBER AND NOTICED THE HOLE CORRODED THROUGH THE HOUSING JUST LIKE THE VIDEO. I GOT THE UPGRADED PART FROM A FORD DEALER FOR $163 AND INSTALLED. RUNS FINE NOW. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS FORD KNOWS THERE'S A PROBLEM SINCE THE HAVE CAME OUT WITH AN UPGRADED CONTROL MODULE SO WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL? I LIVE IN A STATE THAT TEMPERATURES IN THE WINTER MONTHS CAN BE BELOW 0 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT AND DRIVE AN HOUR ONE WAY TO WORK, THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED WHEN I WAS ON THE ROAD IN EXTREME COLD, COULD OF HAD MY TWO CHILDREN WITH ME BROKE DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND COLD OUT. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, THE BRAKES BEGAN TO EMIT A RED, GREASY SUBSTANCE ON THE WHEEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY DID NOT WANT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT ALL THE BRAKES OPERATED IN THAT MANNER, BUT THE CONTACT DISAGREED BY STATING THAT THE REAR BRAKES DID NOT. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM, BUT REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTOR. THE VEHICLE OPERATED WORSE AFTER THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER SENT AN ENGINEER TO TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, SMOKE FLOWED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND THEN ERUPTED IN FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE TWO REAR TIRES AND TAILGATE WERE THE ONLY SALVAGEABLE PARTS. DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE, THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS UNKNOWN. *AK

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED A RECALL REPAIR COULD NOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE A REQUIRED TOOL WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER DID NOT WANT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL THE TOOL WAS AVAILABLE. A RECALL LETTER WAS RECEIVED IN FEBRUARY AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE LETTER ON THE MANUFACTURERS RECALL # 06C11 CONCERNING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
