Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 114,500. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was advised to perform Carfax search regarding the vehicle. It was later discovered that the mileage on the Title was 282,262.

2010 FORD F150 ONLY OWNER - Brake Calipers and break line failed. Took it into Ford Dealership and they were unable to provide a diagnosis. Truck still shakes when in idle. All maintenance and needed care for the truck has been maintained. Repair cost over $4k to repair for 6 months in with the issue. Camera does not work and has not since 2014. Heated seats stopped working and burned out in 2014. All issues started to surface after truck was paid off.... Of course

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 55,227 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 141,502.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and shut off. The contact veered over to the side of the road and attempted to restart the vehicle. There was an abnormal sound while turning the ignition key. There were no warning lights illuminated. After several attempts, the vehicle restarted, and the contact was able to continue driving to the destination. The contact stated that the failure was related to TSB: 15-0137. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuse needed to be updated. The dealer determined that a relocation kit was needed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact there were no associated recalls and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

Am make this report because suddenly stop the vehicle run. Without lights on the dashboard. And either when give a jumper cables runs on reverse. That happen today [XXX] about [XXX] on Chicago IL. Fortunately some to person help me out to put the truck on parking the truck was going on reverse and stopped the truck. No body was hurt. Should you have to send to letters to the owners of the trucks send to recall for malfunction of the manufacturer. Will hope hear my concern. Dash lights do not work. Cannot see any dash gauges. Speed unknown. Dealer says unknown problem. Cannot fix. Non dearer repair shop gives same answer. Not safe to operate. Unknown speed , fuel level etc. also loud thump in transmission , has done this since purchased in 2010. Dealer has looked at this many many times and says nothing wrong. Many complaints on internet about both of these problems.

Issue: Abrupt engine shutoff while driving at high speed. Occurance: While driving on an interstate highway at approximately 70MPH in far left lane, the vehicle abruptly shutoff. With no power, the power steering also did not function, however, had enough speed to safely pull onto the grass median. It appears the problem is with a known issue to Ford, which is the fuse for the fuel pump (#27 in the engine compartment PDB) will melt and cause either intermittent or complete failure even while driving at high speeds. Given the conditions I was extremely lucky to have been able to pull off, and then back on to the roadway safely. Ford has a fix available Fuel Pump Jumper Harness Kit. Kit Terminal Part #: WT56872 (14293) as a result of this problem, yet it seems there is no active recall for this to be installed. WHY??? This could have resulted in multiple deaths and injuries for a single incident - I think that's unacceptable and hope NHTSA will concur and compel a recall to fix this issue.

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the power junction box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had been made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

All electric devices and warnings having to do with the left rear passenger door have shorted out due to excessive wear from repeated opening and closing of the door. Inspection of the harness immediately adjacent to the door frame shows excessive wear and broken wires. Possible confusion to the driver from unsafe dash warnings and false warnings that a rear passenger be seated next to a door that is not properly closed. Dome lights may not extinguish during driving. Electrical fire hazard. Required fix is Ford replacement part #9L3Z-14631-CAA. Internet search has shown this problem to be wide spread among F-150 crew cab back doors.

SEATBELT CHIME/ ALARM IS DEFECTIVE. SEE ALL YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOWING SO. SEATBELT LIGHT AND CHIME CONTINUOUSLY STAY ON AND CHIME ALARM CONTINUOUSLY RINGS EVEN WHILE SEATBELTS ARE ON & LOCKED IN POSITION. THIS IS VERY DISTRACTING AND A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR DRIVERS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE IT GO OFF/ WORK CORRECTLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS SEATBELT CHIME IS DEFECTIVE IS BOTH WHEN DRIVING / IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. BODY/WINDSHIELD AREA STRUCTURAL DEFECT- THERE IS A HOLE/OPENING THAT ALLOWS RAIN/ WATER TO LEAK INTO INTERIOR OF TRUCK, LEAKING WATER INSIDE TRUCK INTERIOR FROM UPPER BUILD SEAM, THROUGH THE GRAB HANDLE LOCATED AT SIDE OF WINDSHIELD IN FRONT OF FRONT PASSENGER, THEN LIQUID DRIPS DOWN ONTO CARPETED FLOORBOARD. THIS BODY STRUCTURE DEFECTIVE OPENING/ HOLE IS LOCATED SOMEWHERE BETWEEN UPPER WINDSHIELD SEAM AND THE INTERIOR FRONT PASSENGER GRAB HANDLE AT WINDSHIELD FRAME. WATER DRIPS THROUGH THIS HANDLE. THIS WINDSHIELD LEAK DEFECT OCCURS WHEN THE TRUCK IS IN MOTION AND WHEN STATIONARY. ELECTRICAL/IGNITION SWITCH- TURNING ON TRACK WITH IGNITION KEY, IGNITION SWITCH DOES NOT ALWAYS PERFORM CORRECTLY. IT OFTEN DISALLOWS THE AC, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, AND BACKUP CAMERA TO WORK, WHILE EVERYTHING ELSE IS WORKING. BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE MAY BE WORKING, THE DRIVER MAY NOT NOTICE THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH HAS BEEN TURNED ON INCORRECTLY.THIS DEFECT, ESPECIALLY THE BACK UP CAMERA NOT WORKING, AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS, IS DANGEROUS. THE SWITCH SHOULD BE MADE TO CONSISTENTLY WORK AT ALL TIMES THE SAME WAY. THIS DEFECT IS NOTICED WHEN STATIONARY, BUT OFTEN WHEN IT'S TOO LATE AND IN MOTION.

I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN IN MY 2010 FORD F150 PLATINUM. IT HAD SNOWED THE NIGHT BEFORE SO I HAD CLEANED THE WINDOWS AND TURNED ON THE DEFROSTER, INCLUDING THE REAR DEFROSTER. I WAS RUNNING THE TRUCK FOR ABOUT 15 MIN WHEN THE REAR WINDOW STARTED TO SMOKE AND A SMALL FIRE, BURNING OCCURRED BEFORE THE GLASS IN THE RUBBER SEAL (OUTSIDE). I THREW WATER ON IT WHILE MY WIFE AND KIDS (11, 9, AND 3) EVACUATED THE TRUCK. I WAS ABLE TO CONTAIN IT, BUT THE WINDOW CRACKED DURING THE BURN/FIRE DUE TO THE HEAT. MY WIFE WAS TAKING MY DAUGHTER OUT OF HER CAR SEAT AS THIS HAPPENED. WE TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER WHO SAID THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY BUT TO BRING IT IN AS THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY WERE AWARE OF SIMILAR ISSUES. I TOOK THE TRUCK IN TODAY MONDAY JANUARY 18TH AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL OR ANYTHING THEY COULD DO. NOT ONE DID ANYONE ASK FOR THE WELFARE OF MY FAMILY NOR DID THEY PRETEND TO CARE ABOUT THE SITUATION OF ONE OF THEIR PARTS/VEHICLES CAUSING A FIRE AND POTENTIALLY INJURING OR WORSE CAUSING DEATH TO ONE OF THERE CUSTOMERS. I WAS INFORMED TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO GAVE ME THE SAME RESPONSE. THAT MY VIN HAD NO RECALL LISTED AND THAT WOULD NOT COVER ANY REPAIRS. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND READ ON NUMEROUS FORD FORUMS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH 2009-2012 FORD TRUCKS. ALL WITH THE SAME EXACT BURN/FIRE LOCATION AND EXACT REAR WINDOW (FAR RIGHT) CRACKING. THIS IS CONCERNING THAT FORD IS CLEARLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY TO ATTEMPT TO CORRECT AND LOOK OUT FOR THE WELFARE OF ITS CUSTOMERS. I WOULD UNDERSTAND A MECHANICAL ISSUE AND A PART BREAKING DOWN BUT I SHOULD NOT FEAR THAT MY VEHICLE WILL CATCH ON FIRE AND CAUSE HARM TO MY FAMILY. THANKFULLY NOTHING WORSE HAPPENED TO MY FAMILY AND I BUT IT SHOULD NOT TAKE THE WORST CASE SCENARIO FOR FORD TO ASSIST WITH THIS.

I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL OF MY DASH LIGHTS WENT ON AND MY HEADLIGHTS AND TAILLIGHTS SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN THE DARK! IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS AS I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY TRUCK STARTED JUMPING AND SHIFTING WEIRD. THE TRACTION WAS MESSING UP. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE SHOP THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE COMPUTER. I WAS IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE OF A COMMON FAULT IN THIS YEAR MODEL. I WILL BE TAKING TO A LAWYER MONDAY. PLEASE GET BACK TO ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

THE DAY I WENT TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEN THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT HAS CAUSED THE RADIO NOT TO WORK. THAT THEY WILL FIX IT NEXT DAY. I BASICALLY GOT THE RUN AROUND HAD THERE MECHANIC LOOK AT IT HE COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. I INFORMED THEM THAT THERE IS MORE THEN JUST THE RADIO THE AIR BAG SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK OR SHOW THAT IT WORKS. ALSO POINTED OUT THAT CHUNKS OF METAL WAS FALLING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THIS EVERY TIME I SHUT THE DOOR. STILL NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. THEY USED RUSTOLEUM BED LINER TO COVER EVERY INCH UNDER THE TRUCK. IT IS LITERALLY FALLING TO PIECES. 3 WEEKS GO BY AFTER SENDING NUMEROUS EMAILS ON UPDATE WHEN THIS WILL GET FIX AND THEY TELL ME THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT BECAUSE THE CO SIGNER LEFT A BAD REVIEW. I HAVE NO WORKING AIR BAGS. AND I'M PAYING 15 THOUSAND FOR THIS TRUCK.

AFTER TURNING OFF THE TRUCK AND REMOVING THE KEY, THE PROBLEMS CONTINUED AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART. TOWED IT TO A DEALER. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BAD "SMART JUNCTION BOX", AND REPLACED "D MODULE".

THE NORMAL CAMSHAFT PHASER ISSUES ARE OCCURRING. LOUD KNOCKING, VIBRATING WHILE IDLING, AND GENERAL RATTLING FROM THE MOTOR WHEN THE TRUCK ISN'T ABOVE 1000 RPM'S. WHILE THIS MAY NOT DIRECTLY CAUSE ACCIDENTS, IN INTENSE RATTLING AND KNOCKING CAN CAUSE OTHER ISSUES TO ARISE WHICH IN TURN CAN CAUSE MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS FOR THE NHTSA. IF FORD DOESN'T DECIDE TO TAKE ON THIS ISSUE AND REPAIR IT, THEN IT CAN BE EXPECTED THAT EVERY 3 VALVE FORD MOTOR MADE SINCE 2005 WILL EVENTUALLY SUCCUMB TO THESE MAJOR ISSUES. AS WE ALL KNOW FORD HAS HAD ISSUES DESIGNING MOTORS IN THE PAST, PRIMARILY THE 6.0, 6.4 AND 5.4 MOTOR THAT I CURRENTLY OWN, BUT IT IS TIME FOR FORD TO STEP UP AND HANDLE THE MECHANICAL PROBLEMS THAT THEIR DESIGNERS NEGLIGENCE CAUSED. IT IS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK THAT AN AUTO MANUFACTURER STANDS BY THEIR PRODUCT AND REPAIRS OR REPLACES THE FAULTY PART WHEN THE TIME COMES. ADDITIONALLY IN THE PART YOU WHEREIN YOU ASKED FOR THE DATE OF THE INCIDENT, I WILL PUT THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE BUT PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ISSUE IS REOCCURRING AND YOU SHOULD EXPECT KNOCKING AND VIBRATION EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE.

CHILDRE FORD (1207 S HARRIS ST, SANDERSVILLE, GA 31082, (478) 552-8200) WAS CONTACTED AND ORDERED A PART SPECIFICALLY FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DEVELOPED A SPECIAL REMEDY FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FUSE PANEL WAS DAMAGED AND COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SHUT OFF, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, AND A POSSIBLE CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 204,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.

TRUCK WAS PARKED HOOKED TO A CAMPER WHEN I TRIED TO START THE TRUCK IT WOULD NOT START. HAD TO TOW THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE FUSE THAT OVERHEATED THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT WITH A FUSE KIT. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT I DID HOWEVER SEE AN ARTICLE IN CARS.COM STATING THAT FORD WAS REPLACING THIS FREE OF CHARGE. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS FUSE THAT OVERHEATS AND IN FACT SELLS A FUSE KIT THAT RELOCATES THIS FUSE AT A CHARGE OF $480 BUT I'M SENDING THIS SURVEY HOPING TO OVERTURN THIS. ACCORDING TO OTHER FORD OWNERS THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AND SEEMS VERY UNSAFE I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE PARKED AND JUST INCONVENIENCED.

TOOK THE TRUCK TO WAS BOUGHT AT AND AFTER A FEW HOURS, THE PROBLEM WAS LOCATED. THE SHOP FOREMAN STATED THAT THEY HAVE HAD ALOT OF TRUCKS GO IN WITH THE SAME ISSUE. "IGNITION CYLINDER FELL OUT WHILE DRIVING. WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE IGNITION CYLINDER (INCLUDING MY KEYS) FELL OUT OF THE STEERING COLUMN. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FOUND THE IGNITION CYLINDER CONTAINING MY KEYS ON THE FLOOR MAT OF MY VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME - HOWEVER I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE WITH THE KEY AFTER I ARRIVED HOME. I PULLED THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE TO KILL THE ENGINE. I CALLED DORIAN FORD AND WAS TOLD THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE AND FOR $375 THIS COULD BE FIXED (PER ROXANNE, SERVICE ADVISOR @ DORIAN FORD). I FOUND THIS INCREDIBLE THAT A SERVICE ADVISOR WOULD INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE. THIS WAS QUITE SCARY FOR THE FIRST FEW MOMENTS WHEN I HEARD THE CYLINDER FALL OUT AND THEN HIT MY LEG ON ITS WAY TO THE FLOOR. MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THIS IS THE SAME SCENARIO THAT OCCURRED ON GM VEHICLES WITH THE IGNITION CYLINDER.

I OWN A 2010 FORD F-150 FX4 PICKUP, PURCHASED NEW OCTOBER 2009. APPROXIMATELY IN 2013 THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING. THE TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH A POWER REAR SLIDING WINDOW FROM FORD. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. THE FORD DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED ME THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE WINDOW ITSELF, AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, OR FORD AT ALL. I HAVE NOTICED MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB FROM OWNERS OF FORD PICKUPS OF THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL, THE MAJORITY OF THEM EXPERIENCING BROKEN REAR WINDOWS, SMOKE AND DAMAGE. LIKE MANY, I HAVE A SMALL CHILD THAT SITS IN A REAR FACING CHILD'S CAR SEAT, AND AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. IT IS VERY APPARENT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE, BUT IS NOT WILLING TO ADMIT TO IT, OR TAKE STEPS TO ADDRESS IT. TRUCK STALLS COMING TO A STOP AT RED LIGHTS/STOP SIGNS. ALSO STALLS WHILE SIMPLY DRIVING DOWN A STREET OR HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE. AFTER SHUTTING DOWN RECENTLY (WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE), THE TRUCK WAS TOWED. I WAS TRAVELING AT 65MPH ON INTERSTATE AT THE TIME AND WAS ABLE TO DRIFT INTO EMERGENCY LANE. AFTER SEVERAL TESTS, LEARNED THERE WAS A PROBLEM IN THE FUSE BOX. THE FUSE TO THE FUEL PUMP WAS MELTED IN THE FUSE BOX. WAS TOLD THE FUEL PUMP ON THESE YEARS PULLS MORE THAN REQUIRED AMPS AND IS OVERHEATING THE FUSE AND MELTING IT. WAS TOLD THE FUSE BOX WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AND FORD HAS A 4 TO 6 WEEK BACK ORDER ON THESE. BECAUSE OF SO MANY ISSUES. NOT FAIR FOR CONSUMERS TO PAY FOR THIS ENGINEERING MISTAKE.

I TURNED ON MY DEFROST ON MY REAR TRUCK WINDOW, LET THE TRUCK WARM UP AS IT WAS -5, STARTED TO DRIVE DOWN THE STREET, DOING 50 KM, HEARD A LOUD "POP" AND THE BACK SLIDING WINDOW SHATTERED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. LUCKILY IT STAYED INTACT AS I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK. I STOPPED AT FORD TO SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO, AS I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE FORD TRUCKS. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT FORD SAID HE COULND'T DO ANYTHING FOR ME AS I NO LONGER HAD WARRANTY. HE WANTED TO CHARGE ME $1200 FOR A NEW WINDOW. I CALLED FORD MOTOR CO. AND THEY ALSO SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT (EVEN THO IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM). I HAD THE WINDOW FIXED BY AN INDEPENDENT COMPANY FOR HALF THE PRICE FORD WOULD HAVE CHARGED. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, AS IT IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY HAZARD. THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON THE NHTSA SITE.

REPLACING FUSE WILL ONLY FIX PROBLEM TEMPORARILY, AS MELTED AREA IN FUSE BOX WILL CAUSE NEW FUSE TO NOT MAKE CONSISTENT CONTACT, LEADING TO VEHICLE NOT STARTING WHEN HOT, OR EVEN ENGINE CUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING REALLY BAD SAFETY ISSUE. VERY DIFFICULT PROBLEM TO FIX, AS DEALERS EITHER GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND OR WANT TO REPLACE ENTIRE FUSE BOX AND ENGINE WIRING HARNESS WHICH COSTS ABOUT $2000, PARTS AND LABOR. 'SOLUTION' IS TO FIND WIRE TO RELAY IN FUSE BOX, VERY DIFFICULT, AND SPLICE IN AN INLINE FUSE. HAVE HAD MECHANIC AND TOWING FEES OVER $1000 SO FAR, AND STILL ONLY HAVE A BYPASS FUSE INSTALLED. WIRING HARNESS ON 2010 FORD F-150 4X4 BURNS UP AT FUSE BOX. ORIGINAL HARNESS WAS REPLACED BY DEALER IN 2013. SECOND HARNESS BURNT UP AT FUSE BOX AFTER 16 MONTHS. WAITING FOR NEW HARNESS AT PRESENT TIME. IT IS THE FUEL PUMP CONNECTION THAT IS BURNING UP IN THE BOX BY THE FUSE. WHEN THE HARNESS BURNS THROUGH, THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY STOPS, EVEN WHILE IN MOTION. THIS CONSTITUTES A SAFETY HAZARD AS NO NOTICE OCCURS BEFORE BURN UP. NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEAR ON DASH TO WARN OF THIS. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE, OTHER THAN REPLACING THE WIRE HARNESS THAT IS BURNING UP. THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE REASON FOR THE BURN UP. ALL THAT HAS BEEN DONE IS REPLACEMENT OF THE PART THAT IS DAMAGED.. HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A MONTH FOR PARTS. OTHER VEHICLES AT THE DEALERSHIP ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING THIS SAME ISSUE.

THE TRUCK WAS PARKED FACING DOWN ON A MODERATE HILL. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS STARTED AND THE SHIFT LEVER MOVED FROM PARK TO DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION REMAINED LOCKED UP (STILL IN PARK) AND THE VISUAL GEAR SELECTOR INDICATOR DID NOT ILLUMINATE SHOWING ANY GEAR SELECTED. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND THE SHIFT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED IN THE GEAR SELECTED. APPLYING GAS DURING THE "PAUSE SHIFT" PERIOD RESULTED IN A RAPID AND UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION WHEN THE SHIFT OCCURRED AND THIS RESULTED IN A SIGNIFICANT ACCIDENT. AFTER THE ACCIDENT, THE TRUCK WAS EXAMINED BY A FORD DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN AND THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULATOR (TCM) WAS REPROGRAMMED.

I HAD TO SPEND OVER AN HOUR ON THE PHONE WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY JUST TO FILE A CLAIM, AND IT TOOK THE GLASS COMPANY TWO TRIES TO INSTALL THE NEW REAR WINDOW AND REWIRE IT TO MAKE IT WORK AGAIN. FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE CHANGED THE DESIGN ON THE WINDOW ALONG WITH THE WIRING TO THE WINDOW. WHY WILL FORD NOT STEP UP AND AT LEAST ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR DEFROST AND OFFER TO FIX IT.

INSPECTED GLASS BOTH INSIDE AND OUT AND OBSERVED THAT THE GLASS WAS INTACT BUT THE WHOLE PASSENGER SIDE BACK GLASS WHAT SHATTERED AS WITH SAFETY GLASS WOULD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST DEALER AND THEY HAD SEEN THE PROBLEM BEFORE BUT THERE ADVISED IT WOULD NOT BE UNDER WARRANTY OR POLICY. DEALER GAVE ME LOCAL CSR TO CONTACT TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE AND ASK FOR POLICY. GLASS ESTIMATE WAS AROUND $621 FOR PARTS AND 3 HRS OF LABOR. DECLINED REPAIR UNTIL SPEAKING WITH CSR TO ASK FOR CONSIDERATION UNDER POLICY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE IF THE GLASS WOULD HAVE FALLEN OUT DURING DRIVER. VEHICLE STALLED AS IF OUT OF FUEL, DESPITE HAVING BEEN RECENTLY FILLED WITH GAS. FUEL MONITORING SYSTEM (TANK LEVEL GAGE AND RANGE COMPUTER) INDICATED THAT VEHICLE WAS USING FUEL AT MUCH HIGHER RATE THAN NORMAL. FOR EXAMPLE, NORMAL RANGE OF THIS TRUCK WHEN 36 GALLON TANK IS FULL IS APPROXIMATELY 570 MILES. AFTER 250 MILES, GAUGE WAS SHOWING TANK OUT OF FUEL AND RANGE COMPUTER WAS INSTRUCTING ME TO REFUEL. REFILLING ONLY REQUIRED 15 GALLONS, INDICATING REDUCED TANK STORAGE CAPACITY. AFTER PERFORMING RESEARCH VIA INTERNET, SUSPECTED BENT FUEL PUMP MOUNT DUE TO FAILED TANK PURGE VALVE. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR SERVICE WHO FOUND STORED P-1450 CODE WHICH INDICATED A PRIOR FAILURE OF THE FUEL VENT PURGE VALVE. DEALER DROPPED THE TANK, REMOVED THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY AND VERIFIED THAT THE MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR THE PUMP ASSEMBLY HAD BEEN SEVERELY BENT WHEN TANK COLLAPSED UNDER ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. NEGATIVE GAGE PRESSURE INSIDE OF TANK CAUSED PLASTIC FUEL TANK TO COLLAPSE, SEVERELY BENDING FUEL PUMP MOUNTING HARDWARE WHICH IS CONSTRUCTED OF TWO 3/16" DIAMETER STEEL RODS. APPARENTLY THE PURGE VALVE FAILED AND EITHER THERE IS NO PRESSURE RELIEF SYSTEM, OR IT FAILED. DEALER REPLACED PUMP AND PURGE SOLENOID VALVE AT OWNER COST OF $950+. DEALER INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO LIABILITY FROM EITHER DEALER OR MANUFACTURER. MY CONCERNS IS SIMPLE....HOW CAN THE DESIGN OF THE FUEL SYSTEM ALLOW THE TANK TO COLLAPSE AT ALL? IT DIDN'T REGISTER AND THE DISPLAY LIGHTS BEGAN GOING OFF AND ON. I STOPPED IN PAULS VALLEY OKLA FOR A COKE, WHILE IDLING, THE OUTSIDE TEMP GAUGE CLIMBED FROM 29 ACTUAL DEGREES TO 86DEGREES IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES BUT WHEN I BEGAN DRIVING AGAIN THE OUTSIDE TEMP WENT BACK DOWN TO 29DEGREES. ON 2 OCCASIONS WHILE ON I-35 THE GAUGES WOULD BEEP, RESET AND GO BACK OFF. I DROVE FROM ATOKA OKLA TO THE TEXAS PANHANDLE WITH NO WAY OF TELLING MY SPEED, FUEL GAUGE, NO TEMP GAUGE NO BLINKERS TO SIGNAL LANE CHANGES, I EVEN TRIED THE EMERG. I HAD STARTED MY TRUCK, TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROSTER , AND WITHIN 10 MINUTES THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE GLASS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER/WINDOW ASSEMBLY CONNECTION DEFECTIVE, SHORTS OUT CAUSING FIRE AND GLASS BREAKAGE. I DROPPED OFF MY DAUGHTER AT PRESCHOOL AND FIVE MINUTES LATER I NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DEFROSTER WINDOW BEHIND HER CAR SEAT. I PULLED OVER TO FIND THIS BECOMING A FIRE. IT BEGAN AS SMOKE, THEN SPARK, AND THEN FLAME. FORTUNATELY, I HAD A BOTTLE OF WATER IN MY TRUCK, WHICH I BEGAN TO POUR ON IT TO STOP. IT GOT WORSE WITH THE SPARKS, BUT EVENTUALLY WENT OUT. WHILE TRYING TO DISTINGUISH THE FIRE, THE "EXPLOSION" OCCURRED SHATTERING THE REAR WINDOW. I TOOK THIS TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND BEGAN TO RESEARCH ISSUE. THE INSTRUSTMENT PANEL OF THE TRUCK HAS FAILED. THE PANEL WHILE DRIVING GOES THROUGH ALL CYCLES OF LIGHTS, BELLS, AND OPTIONS ON THE INSTRUSTMENT CLUSTER , CAUSING US TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THE CURRENT INFORMATION. THE AC GOES OUT EACH TIME IT HAPPENS. THE TRUCK WILL NOT START MANY TIMES- AND YOU HAVE TO HIT THE DASH BOARD TO MAKE IT START - TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IT HAS GONE OUT OF GEAR ONCE DURING THIS. SINCE MARCH OF 2012, MY 2010 F150 XLT, 4.6 L V8 HAS RANDOMLY STALLED AT LEAST 8 TIMES. I FEEL THAT IT IS A TREMENDOUS HAZARD TO ME AND MY FAMILY. STALLING OCCURS WHEN I'M EXITING FROM THE HIGHWAY AFTER TRAVELING 10-20 MILES AT 45-60 MPH, TAKING A TURN (RIGHT OR LEFT), AND SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP. I USUALLY HAVE THE A/C AND RADIO ON. MY CELL IS ALSO SYNCHED. THE ONLY WARNING I GET IS THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES GO OUT. THEN A WARNING SIGNAL COMES ON. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS TURNING ONTO A 2-WAY ROAD. POWER STEERING FAILURE SURPRISED ME AND I TURNED IN TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT AND PULL OVER IN THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC'S SHOULDER. IT RESTARTED RIGHT AWAY. SINCE THEN IT'S HAPPENED SEVERAL OTHER TIMES IN SIMILAR INSTANCES--WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP. RESTARTING IS GETTING HARDER. IT ALSO HAPPENED AFTER FILLING UP AT A GAS STATION. IT TOOK ME SEVERAL TRIES TO GET IT TO START. OF COURSE, THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAVE TAKEN IT CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THEIR COMPUTER CANNOT FIND A CODE. WHEN THEY RETURNED THE TRUCK TO ME, THEY SAID CALL THEM IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, DON'T RESTART IT BECAUSE THAT ERASES ANY CODES, AND THEY'LL SEND A TOW TRUCK. THE NEXT DAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND I FOLLOWED THEIR DIRECTIONS. NOT TURNING THE KEY DIDN'T HELP ANYTHING WITH OBTAINING CODES, BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL NOT GETTING ANY READINGS. I SPOKE WITH THE SHOP MANAGER. HE THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A BAD COIL CAUSING BAD RADIO FREQUENCIES, THUS SHUTTING DOWN THE THROTTLE BODY (TB). HE SAID HE WOULD TEST THE COILS AND REPLACE ANY DAMAGED ONE. IF THAT WASN'T THE PROBLEM, HE WOULD REPLACE THE TB. AFTER 13 DAYS, THEY STILL CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM, NOR HAVE THEY MADE ANY KIND OF REPAIRS, EXCEPT FOR PERFORMING A COURTESY CLEANING OF MY THROTTLE BODY AND "RESETTING" THE TRUCK'S COMPUTER. THE CLUSTER LAMPS ARE APPARENTLY CONTROLLED AUTOMATICALLY BY A SENSOR LOCATED ON THE DASH, HOWEVER IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE DASH METERS WHEN IT IS DARK ENOUGH TO TURN ON THE HEADLAMPS, BUT NOT LIGHT ENOUGH FOR THE SENSOR TO ENGAGE. YOU CAN BE DRIVING IN A RAINSTORM AND HEADLAMPS ARE NEEDED, BUT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LAMPS WILL NOT TURN ON AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ANY OF THE READINGS ON THE GAUGES. THEN WIPERS FAIL TO WORK, ILLUMINATED ODOMETER FLASHES ALONG WITH 4WD INDICATOR LIGHT AND INTERIOR DOME LIGHT. DEALER CLAIMS WATER IN GEM PANEL???? INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR WITH MORE DANGEROUS RESULTS, SUCH AS BEING LOCKED IN CAR WHEN POWER LOCKS FAIL OR WIPERS FAIL DURING RAINSTORMS. FORD ISSUED SPEC. MSG TO DEALER #15773 AND KNOWS OF PROBLEM FOR YEARS, BUT HASN'T NOTIFIED OWNERS TO FIX BEFORE DAMAGE OCCURS TO FUSES AND A MAJOR REPAIR IS NEEDED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH HE STATED THAT HE COULD NOT SEE THE DISPLAY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANELS DURING THE DAY SINCE THEY ARE TOO FAR BACK INSIDE OF THE DASHBOARD. HE COULD NOT READ THE DISPLAY UNLESS HE STOPPED THE VEHICLE. HE CALLED THE DEALER REGARDING THE FAILURE AND THEY NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED HIM THAT THE MANUFACTURER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 365.

I BOUGHT 2010 FORD F-150 ON 4/12/10 AND IT HAD ONLY 9 MILES ON IT. ON 8/28/2010 AROUND 9:30PM MY CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE IT WAS PARKED FOR A WHILE. THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD. 911 WAS CALLED AND UNTIL FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED ME AND MY NEIGHBOR PUT DOWN THEY FIRE BY OURSELVES. NEXT DAY, ON SUNDAY, WE TOW CAR TO FOLSOM LAKE FORD DEALERSHIP BUT SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSED. ON MONDAY, 8/30/10 ME AND MY WIFE WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY GOING TO DO. SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD US THAT IT IS LOOKS LIKE MANUFACTURE DEFECT. HE TOLD US THAT HE CONTACTED VIA E-MAIL FORD COMPANY AND THEY SUPPOSE TO REPLY BETWEEN 48 HOURS WITH INSTRUCTION WHAT TO DO OR SEND AN INSPECTOR AND HE CAN'T HELP US WITH ANYTHING UNTIL HE GETS INSTRUCTIONS FROM FORD. WE ASKED FOR LOANER CAR BUT THEY REFUSED, SUGGESTING US TO CONTACT OUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND HAVE THEM TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM, WHAT WE DID. WHEN 48 HOURS PAST WE CONTACTED DEALERSHIP AGAIN TO FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE GOT ANY INSTRUCTIONS FROM FORD. SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD US THAT FORD DIDN'T REPLY AND GAVE US A PHONE # OF FORD CONSUMER RELATIONSHIP DEPARTMENT AND TRY TO FIND OUT BY OURSELVES, WHAT WE DID. WHAT THEY TOLD US IS LET YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE AND AFTER IT'S UP TO INSURANCE COMPANY TO TRY TO GET REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE FORD. AS A RESULT WE HAD LOST INCOME(I AM CONTRACTOR AND I NEED A TRUCK TO DO WORK). I HAVE $25.00 RENTAL COVERAGE W/MY INSURANCE AND I CAN GET ONLY SMALL CAR, NOT TRUCK, AND I HAVE $1000 DEDUCTIBLE - SO IT MEANS I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET WHILE MY CAR HAS BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. *TR

2010 FORD F150 XLT PICKUP WITH AUTOMATIC ILLUMINATION/ACTIVATION INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ILLUMINATION LIGHTS ON 3 OCCASIONS TO DATE HAVE FAILED TO ILLUMINATE UNDER LOW /NO LIGHT OUTSIDE CONDITIONS. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS NOT READABLE! NO ILLUMINATION LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE ALSO HAS A MANUAL HEADLAMP SELECTION (3 POSITIONS) AND EVEN IF THE HEADLAMP SELECTOR SWITCH IS TURNED TO MANUAL "ON", THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DID NOT ILLUMINATE!.....THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD! THE NEXT DAY EVERYTHING WORKED FINE EXCEPT THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DID NOT ILLUMINATE UNTIL IT COMPLETELY DARK OUTSIDE. SAFETY HAZARD!....I CANT READ THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER UNDER LOW LIGHT CONDITION! I BELIEVE THAT THE SENSOR THAT READS OUTSIDE LIGHT CONDITIONS NEEDS TO BE RE-CALIBRATED TO A LOWER SENSITIVITY, AND THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE REPROGRAMMED SO THAT WHEN THE DRIVER MANUALLY SELECTS FOR ALL LIGHTS TO BE ACTIVATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHOULD THEN GO ON! *TR

FORD MOTOR CO CHANGED THEIR UNIVERSAL GARAGE DOOR FROM HOMELINK TO CAR2U. WHICH DOES NOT WORK AS THE OWNERS GUIDE STATES. THE OWNERS GUIDE HAS TWO SAFETY WARNING NOT TO PROGRAM INSIDE THE GARAGE. I WAS TOLD TO DISREGARD THAT WARNING. THE ONLY WAY THE CONTROL CAN BE PROGRAMMED IS THE TRUCK HAS TO BE INSIDE THE GARAGE. I THINK IT SHOULD WORK LIKE THE GUIDE SAYS OR REPRINT THE GUIDE. *TR
