2010 f150 Rear heated window exploded when heat was turned on for window had to replace out of my own pocket also exhaust manifold bolt is gone exhaust leak truck only has 93343miles what happened to the quality for the price of your vehicle that shouldn't fall apart for lack of threads on the bolts to save money. stud on manifold just fell out last year that's not normal wear and tear ,rear window I'm not interested any more its manifold studs

The contact veered over to the side of the road and attempted to restart the vehicle. There was an abnormal sound while turning the ignition key. There were no warning lights illuminated. After several attempts, the vehicle restarted, and the contact was able to continue driving to the destination. The contact stated that the failure was related to TSB: 15-0137. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuse needed to be updated. The dealer determined that a relocation kit was needed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact there were no associated recalls and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and he stated that the motor needed a sealing head. The manufacturer was contacted, and they advised to file a complaint with NHTSA. When you start it up it would run good then battery light and a wrench would show up on dash then the throttle would drop down to a maximum speed would be 20 miles an hour.Battery would be dead when you would try and start it.Took it to a mechanic he could not do a diagnostic check because computer had been erased.I have been stranded multiple times.Going down busy highway unable to go faster than twenty miles an hour.Had to be jumped twice in a few hours still only able to go twenty miles an hour,then battery died while going twenty miles and hour.Engine light along with battery light and wrench symb

Issue: Abrupt engine shutoff while driving at high speed. Occurance: While driving on an interstate highway at approximately 70MPH in far left lane, the vehicle abruptly shutoff. With no power, the power steering also did not function, however, had enough speed to safely pull onto the grass median. It appears the problem is with a known issue to Ford, which is the fuse for the fuel pump (#27 in the engine compartment PDB) will melt and cause either intermittent or complete failure even while driving at high speeds. Given the conditions I was extremely lucky to have been able to pull off, and then back on to the roadway safely. Ford has a fix available Fuel Pump Jumper Harness Kit. Kit Terminal Part #: WT56872 (14293) as a result of this problem, yet it seems there is no active recall for this to be installed. WHY??? This could have resulted in multiple deaths and injuries for a single incident - I think that's unacceptable and hope NHTSA will concur and compel a recall to fix this issue.

The system that failed was in the steering/gear shaft. The shaft is failing due to corrosion/rust. The vehicle has erratic steering when turning left or right. The steering does not rebound making it difficult to steer the vehicle which can cause a serious crash. I have had the problem with the steering and almost running off into a ditch. Trying to regain steering is difficult as it seems it gets stuck in position (left or right) and heavy when manually trying to control or correct the steering. The engine intake manifold suffer from the same safety issues that causes the corrosion or rusting of the manifold bolts making it very difficult to maintenance /repair cracked manifolds in the vehicle. The culprit as Ford knows it is salty road conditions. I live in Michigan where salt is applied to the roads often to keep roadways open for travel in the winter months. Ford has found remedies for newer model F-150s that suffer the same issues but has not offered remedy for older models such as mine. These trucks should be afforded the same recall privileges as newer vehicles.

The contact stated that fuse #27 for the fuel pump relay was melted and burned in half. The contact spoke with a certified mechanic who suggested that the fuse and fuel pump control module may both need to be replaced. The contact replaced the fuel pump control module however, failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who confirmed the failure with fuse # 27. The contact was informed that the fuse needed to be replaced and the fuel pump control module might also need to be replaced again. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

47000 MILES ON TRUCK. BOTH CATALYST CONVERTERS HAVE FAILED WITHIN 1000 MILES DUE TO THE WAY THEY ARE CONSTRUCTED. INTERNALS OF CONVERTERS HAVE TWO ELEMENTS IN WHICH REAR ELEMENT APPEARS TO JUST BE CEMENTED IN AND WILL COME LOOSE INTERNALLY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT CAN ROTATE INSIDE HOUSING AND NOT LET EXHAUST GASES EXHAUST CORRECTLY CAUSING LOSS OF POWER.

FORD'S 5.4L 3 VALVE ENGINES INSTALLED IN THEIR 2004-2010 TRUCKS HAVE, UNFORTUNATELY, ESTABLISHED A REPUTATION FOR PREMATURE FAILURE. OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLE'S REPORT HEARING A TICKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE ACCOMPANIED BY A LOSS OF POWER AND OFTEN A "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT. RESEARCH HAS REVEALED THAT THE CAUSE OF THESE ISSUES IS USUALLY ATTRIBUTED TO A FAILURE OF THE CAM PHASERS AND EXCESSIVE OIL CLEARANCE IN THE CAM JOURNALS. MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF MID DRIVE AND HAS HAD ALL ISSUES DESCRIBED ABOVE. IT STARTED WITH THE TICKING NOISE FIRST THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEXT AND THEN MAJOR LOSS OF POWER. WAS DRIVING MY F-150 TO WORK ON A CITY STREET AT A LOW SPEED LESS THAN 35 MPH WHEN THE TRUCK STALLED. IT COASTED TO WORK, WHEN I GOT OFF I PUT OIL IN IT AND IT STARTED AND DROVE NEARLY HOME. ONCE I GOT HOME ALMOST TO MY DRIVEWAY THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. I OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THERE WERE ISSUES WITH SPARK PLUG NUMBER 2. I REPLACED IT AND NOW THERE IS A HOLE IN THE PISTON AND A DROPPED VALVE. THIS VEHICLE IS NEEDING A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. DIAGNOSED BY DIERS FORD. VEHICLE NOT REPAIRED.

ON MY TRUCK THE PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS RUSTED AND THE REAR BOLTS HAVE RUSTED OFF. THIS HAS CAUSED THE MANIFOLD TO LEAK RIGHT AT THE EXHAUST PORT. THIS LEAK FILLS THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE WITH EXHAUST FUMES. IT IS ALSO LEAKING PRE-CATALYST EXHAUST. THE FUELS IN THE CAB ARE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND WELL AS AN EMISSIONS ISSUE. RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET SHOWS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON FORD TRUCKS OF THIS ERA. TALKING TO FORD ABOUT THIS THEY OFFER A VERY SMALL DISCOUNT ON THE SERVICE IF I HAVE IT DONE AT THE DEALER. I HAVE HAD TRUCKS FOR YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS BEFORE. MY TRUCK IS A 2010 FORD F150 WITH 106,000 MILES ON IT.

THE NORMAL CAMSHAFT PHASER ISSUES ARE OCCURRING. LOUD KNOCKING, VIBRATING WHILE IDLING, AND GENERAL RATTLING FROM THE MOTOR WHEN THE TRUCK ISN'T ABOVE 1000 RPM'S. WHILE THIS MAY NOT DIRECTLY CAUSE ACCIDENTS, IN INTENSE RATTLING AND KNOCKING CAN CAUSE OTHER ISSUES TO ARISE WHICH IN TURN CAN CAUSE MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS FOR THE NHTSA. IF FORD DOESN'T DECIDE TO TAKE ON THIS ISSUE AND REPAIR IT, THEN IT CAN BE EXPECTED THAT EVERY 3 VALVE FORD MOTOR MADE SINCE 2005 WILL EVENTUALLY SUCCUMB TO THESE MAJOR ISSUES. AS WE ALL KNOW FORD HAS HAD ISSUES DESIGNING MOTORS IN THE PAST, PRIMARILY THE 6.0, 6.4 AND 5.4 MOTOR THAT I CURRENTLY OWN, BUT IT IS TIME FOR FORD TO STEP UP AND HANDLE THE MECHANICAL PROBLEMS THAT THEIR DESIGNERS NEGLIGENCE CAUSED. IT IS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK THAT AN AUTO MANUFACTURER STANDS BY THEIR PRODUCT AND REPAIRS OR REPLACES THE FAULTY PART WHEN THE TIME COMES. UPON RESEARCH IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2009-2014 YEAR MODELS AND FORD ISSUED A TSB BUT NOT A RECALL. I HADN'T KNOWN ABOUT THIS WHEN PURCHASING THE TRUCK USED, AND IT IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.

WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY AS THE ON COMING TRAFFIC SPEED LIMIT IS 50MPH, I'M PULLING OUT ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A SAFE DISTANCE BETWEEN CARS ON THIS BUSY ROAD AS I ACCELERATED MY 2010 F150 FX4 SUPER CREW CAB "WITH MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK I MIGHT ADD" THE TRUCK JUST DOWN SHIFTS AND IT SLAMS ME AND MY FAMILY FORWARD "LIKE I HIT A TREE GOING 30MPH" THE TRUCK SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY AND A SYMBOL OF A WRENCH POPS UP ON THE DASHBOARD. WITH NO POWER STEERING, NO POWER BREAKS, NO WAY TO SAFELY MOVE THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD AT THIS POINT DUE TO THE TRAFFIC I WAS TRYING TO AVOID WAS PASSING ME GOING AT LEAST 50MPH ALMOST GETTING REAR ENDED BY SEVERAL CARS AND SEMI TRUCKS, I PUSH THE FLASHERS ON AND PRAY THAT NOTHING BAD HAPPENS AND COAST UNTIL THE TRUCK FINALLY COMES TO A STOP AFTER ABOUT 30-45 SECONDS. I GET OUT OF THE TRUCK AFTER THE GROUP OF VEHICLES PASS BY AND INSPECTED TO SEE IF THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION WAS BLOWN UP OR LEAKING FLUID AND NOTHING AT THIS POINT SO I'M STRESSED OUT BECAUSE MY FAMILY AND I COULD HAVE VERY WELL DIED AND THERE IS NO PROOF OF THIS WHEN I RESTARTED THE TRUCK NO SYMBOLS WAS PRESENT WHEN INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC. I KEEP TELLING THE MECHANIC THAT IT HAS NO POWER ANY MORE, IT SOOOOO SLUGGISH I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE THE TRUCK MUCH ANYMORE, ONLY ON SHORT TRIPS TO THE STORE. WE HAD TO CANCEL OR VACATION AND CANCEL THE PURCHASE OF A CAMPER FOR OUR VACATION. VEHICLE WOULD STALL AT RANDOM WHILE DRIVING. MECHANICS AT FORD ADVISED THAT IT WAS RELAY WIRE OR HARNESS WIRES FOR THE AIRBAG SENSORS THAT RAN THROUGH THE FUEL TANK WERE CORRODED OR SHORTED OUT. THEY REPORTED THAT THE ENGINEERS AT FORD MADE A BAD CALL WHEN THEY DECIDED TO RUN THE WIRES THROUGH THE FUEL TANK, WHICH IN TURN RESULTED IN ME HAVING TO DISH OUT 1500 BUCKS FOR THE REPAIR. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES PRIOR TO THE REPAIR ON A TRUCK WITH LESS THAN 53000 MILES AT THE TIME, BETWEEN DURING MARCH OR APRIL OF 2014 WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE USED TRUCK. LOST ALL POWER AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND ON SEVERAL ROAD TYPES INCLUDING HIGHWAY, HIGHWAY SERVICE ROAD, RESIDENTIAL STREET AND FARM TO MARKET ROAD, WHILE GOING STRAIT AND DURING TURNS, AFTER MULTIPLE EVENTS AND HAVING PUT LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON IT, I TOOK IT UP TO FORD. GRATEFUL THAT NO ACCIDENTS OCCURED DURING THE EPISODES I EXPERIENCED. I WAS ABLE TO COMETO A STOP, PLACE THE TRUCK IN PARK AND RESTART IT. TTINCE THE REPAIR NO ISSUES. LOVE THE F SERIES PICK UPS AND HAVE OWNED SEVERAL OVER A SPAN OF 18 YEARS AND ITS ALL MY DADS COMPANY USES. I KNOW ITS BEEN ALMOST 4 YEARS SINCE HAVING THE ISSUE BUT FELT LIKE I NEEDED TO SAY SOMETHING TO AT LEAST GIVE OTHERS A HEAD UP OR WARNING. NEVER SET WELL WITH ME. I STILL HAVE THE REPAIR PAPERWORK IF NEEDED.

WHEN SLOWING DOWN (AT AN INTERSECTION FOR EXAMPLE) TO MAKE A TURN THE VEHICLE DIES AND MAKES IT VERY, VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN INTO TWO ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO STAY IN MY LANE DURING THE TURN. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A TRUCK SO DIFFICULT TO TURN WHEN THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING. ADDITIONALLY, THE TRUCK WILL NOT START AFTER FUELING. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED AND THE FORD DEALER (MADISON COUNTY FORD IN RICHMOND, KY) SAID IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME I PUT FUEL IN THE TRUCK, IT WOULD NOT START. IT SAT A COUPLE OF DAYS AND STARTED. THE ENGINE WAS STOPPING JUST AS IT DID BEFORE. TOOK IT BACK TO THE SAME FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY HAD DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM PROPERLY. I SPEND $2,216 ON WHAT THEY SAID THE PROBLEM WAS AND IT WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. THE PARAMOUNT ISSUE IS WHEN THE TRUCK DIES WHILE DRIVING AND IT CAN'T BE STEERED PROPERLY.

THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO FAIL TO START AND STALLED WHEN DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY 2010 F150 STARTED GETTING CARBON MONOXIDE COMING THROUGH THE CABIN HEATING SYSTEM. THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND BOLTS BREAKING DUE TO RUSTING OUT AND ALLOWING CARBON MONOXIDE TO SEEP INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND INTO THE CABIN. I AS THE DRIVER BECAME ILL FOR 2 DAYS AS I WAS NOT AWARE THAT THE POISON WAS COMING INTO THE CABIN AT FIRST. I HAD A 70 MILE HIGHWAY DRIVE TO GET HOME. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERE RUSTING THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE TRAIN STARTING AT 3 YEARS OLD. FORD HAS NEVER ACCEPTED ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. I WANT TO BE CLEAR ON THIS AS IN HOPES OF NOT HAVING THIS HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. I FEEL I COULD HAVE DIED FROM THIS POISONING. PERSONAL INVESTIGATION HAS LED TO FINDING NUMEROUS REPORTS ONLINE OF THE SAME OR WORSE PROBLEMS WITH THIS MODEL/YEAR OF FORD TRUCK. HE HAD TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. IT DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY ENGINE ERROR CODES. THE TRUCK WILL BE RUNNING JUST FINE THEN THE ENGINE WILL JUST QUIT. RESEARCHING ONLINE FOR FORD 5.4L F150 ENGINE STALLS IT APPEARS OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES. THIS ALSO MEAN I HAD NO POWER STEERING AND ALMOST GOT INTO 2 ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE PROBLEM OCCURS, AN OIL FUNNEL LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN I SHIFT MY TRUCK MANUALLY INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN THE KEY AND MY TRUCK FIRES RIGHT BACK UP WITHOUT HESITATION. I DROVE MY TRUCK STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I LET THEM TEST AND DRIVE IT FOR 2 DAYS AND THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM, THE TRUCK DIDN'T THROW ANY CODES EITHER AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS ITS NORMAL WHEN THE ENGINE STALLS FOR THE OIL FUNNEL LIGHT TO COME ON. REFILLING ONLY REQUIRED 15 GALLONS, INDICATING REDUCED TANK STORAGE CAPACITY. AFTER PERFORMING RESEARCH VIA INTERNET, SUSPECTED BENT FUEL PUMP MOUNT DUE TO FAILED TANK PURGE VALVE. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR SERVICE WHO FOUND STORED P-1450 CODE WHICH INDICATED A PRIOR FAILURE OF THE FUEL VENT PURGE VALVE. DEALER DROPPED THE TANK, REMOVED THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY AND VERIFIED THAT THE MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR THE PUMP ASSEMBLY HAD BEEN SEVERELY BENT WHEN TANK COLLAPSED UNDER ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. NEGATIVE GAGE PRESSURE INSIDE OF TANK CAUSED PLASTIC FUEL TANK TO COLLAPSE, SEVERELY BENDING FUEL PUMP MOUNTING HARDWARE WHICH IS CONSTRUCTED OF TWO 3/16" DIAMETER STEEL RODS. I HAVE 2010 FORD F150 FX4. I HAVE 36000 MILES ON IT AND AM THE ORIGINAL. BOUGHT IT NEW FROM DEALERSHIP. TODAY I WAS TOWING MY HORSE TRAILER WITH 2 HORSES IN IT AND CAME THROUGH THE RESIDENTIAL AREA NEAR THE BARN. SPEED LIMIT IS 30 MILES AN HOUR AND I WAS DOING 25 AND WAS ACTUALLY BRAKING TO SLOW IT DOWN TO 20. I HEARD A WEIRD ENGINE NOISE AND SUDDENLY THE TRUCK SURGED AND TOOK OFF. WE HIT ALMOST 50 MILES AN HOUR IN THIS RESIDENTIAL 2 LANE ROAD IN A MATTER OF SECONDS AND I WAS STANDING ON THE BRAKES WITH BOTH FEET. MY FRIEND IN THE TRUCK WAS DOWNSHIFTING (AUTOMATIC) FOR ME IN AN ATTEMPT TO SLOW ENGINE DOWN. WE MANAGED TO GET IT TO 2ND AND WITH ME STANDING ON BRAKES WE WERE ABLE TO KEEP IT AT 40 MPH. NEUTRAL HAD NO EFFECT AND RPMS WAY TOO HIGH FOR FIRST GEAR-EVERY TIME I SLIGHTLY LIFTED MY FOOT OF THE BRAKES SLIGHTLY, WE SURGED TO 50 AND THE TRUCK KEPT TRYING TO GO FASTER. NOTHING WE TRIED COULD GET IT TO STOP, SLOW OR RETURN TO NORMAL. WE TRIED NEUTRAL AND NOTHING HAPPENED. IT WAS NOT THE FLOOR MAT OR THE TOW FEATURE. DID NOT HAVE SPEED CONTROL ON. SCARIEST RIDE OF MY LIFE AND WITH TWO HORSES BEHIND ME. I WAS PREPARED TO HIT A TREE OR ROCK WALL AS WE WERE RUNNING OUT OF ROAD. I WAS TERRIFIED OF JACK KNIFING. WE FINALLY HIT AN INCLINE FOR A HILL AND WE SLAMMED IT INTO NEUTRAL AGAIN,PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE WHEN WE GOT TO THE TOP. THINK MY BRAKES COMPLETELY BURNED OUT AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM MY ENGINE. NUMEROUS PEOPLE THAT WE HAD TERRIFIED PULLED OVER WITH US ONCE WE GOT THE RUNAWAY TRUCK STOPPED. CALLED TOW TRUCK AND HAD TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND WILL SEE WHAT THEY SAY TOMORROW. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED HAD SOMEONE PULLED ONTO THE ROAD IN FRONT OF US OR A DEER STEPPED OUT. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ALWAYS IN THE SAME WAY IN SAME ORDER COMPLETE STOP OIL LIGHT BEEP AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN. MY 2010 FORD F 150 THAT I BOUGHT NEW IN AUGUST OF 2010 HAS STALLED FIVE DIFFERENT TIME OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS. THE FIRST TIME WAS ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT WITH LESS THAN 2000 MILES ON IT. WHILE STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT THE ENGINE JUST DIED. THE OTHER FOUR TIMES WAS WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. WHEN IT STALLS THE ENGINE RPM JUST GOES DOWN SMOOTHLY TO ZERO AND BECOMES VERY HARD TO STEER AND BRAKE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHILE MAKING A TURN ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHICH IS HOW TWO OF THE STALLS HAPPENED. THE LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 11/27/2012 WITH ONLY 21,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK. I CAME EXTREMELY CLOSE TO HITTING A DUMP TRUNK THAT HAD TO SWERVE NOT TO HIT ME. AFTER I STOP AND PUT IT BACK TO PARK IT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP AND RUNS FINE. WHILE BREAKING TO MAKE RIGHT HAND TURN ENGINE STALLED. FIRST INDICATION WAS TRUCK WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. I WAS ABLE TO STOP TRUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. AT A HIGHER SPEED THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. FORD DEALER CLAIMED TO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH AN INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS THOUSANDS OF SUCH INCIDENTS, MANY OF THEM REPORTED TO THIS AGENCY. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND A CAUSE, ALTHOUGH THE MANAGER SAID IT WAS LIKELY THE THROTTLE BODY BUT HE COULD NOT REPLACE A PART UNDER WARRANTY UNLESS IT WAS POSITIVELY KNOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE. THIS F-150 PICK UP TRUCK WAS PURCHASED IN APRIL 2010 AS NEW. EVERYTHING WAS OK UNTIL APRIL 2012. THE TRUCK STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHEN IT SLOWED DOWN OR MADE TURNS. LUCKILY, NO OTHER CARS WERE BEHIND, OTHERWISE I COULD NOT IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM OR GET A CODE. I CHECKED ONLINE AND NOTICED MANY 2010 F150 OWNERS HAD SAME PROBLEMS. SOME OF PEOPLE MENTIONED TO CHANGE THROTTLE BODY, SO I TOLD THE DEALER SHOP AND GOT THROTTLE BODY CHANGED. DURING THE NEXT 2 MONTHS, IT DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. HOWEVER, ON JULY 5TH 2012, IT STALLED AGAIN WHEN I MADE TURNS IN THE LOCAL. I SENT THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER SHOP AGAIN AND THEY STILL DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM, SINCE IT HAPPENED INTERMITTENT. NOW I AM AFRAID OF DRIVING MY TRUCK. ENGINE STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKING. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ERROR CODE WHEN THIS FIRST OCCURRED. AFTER THE ENGINE HAD STALLED FOR ABOUT 32-35 TIMES, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL MECHANIC SHOP TO READ THE CODE WHICH INDICATED THAT THE EVAP SYSTEM WAS BLOCKED. MY DEALER DETERMINED THAT A SOLENOID IN THE FUEL EVAP. SYSTEM HAD FAILED. AS A RESULT THE FUEL TANK WAS COLLAPSED BY VACUUM BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SECONDARY TANK VENT. THIS IS DANGEROUS! THERE SHOULD BE A SECONDARY VENT OR A PRESSURE/VACUUM SENSOR TO PREVENT THE TANK FROM BEING COLLAPSED. NOTE: THE TANK WAS COLLAPSED SO MUCH SO, AS TO DAMAGE THE PUMP/LEVEL SENDING UNIT ASSEMBLY. *TR

ON MAY 8TH 2012, MY TRUCK STALLED WHILE I WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AT APPROX. 55 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS BRAND NEW WHEN I PURCHASED IT IN MAY OF 2009 FROM GULF COAST AUTO FORD IN ANGLETON,TEXAS. SO, I HAD THEM TOW IT TO THEIR SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS REPLACED ON MAY 9TH, AND I DROVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL FRIDAY , MAY 11TH, WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE STALLED AT TRAFFIC SPEEDS, DIED, AND THEN COULDN'T BE RESTARTED! THIS SECOND INCIDENT ALSO RESULTED IN MY HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I AM TOLD THAT THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM!! IT NOW STARTS AFTER THE STALLING, BUT NOT UNTIL A PERIOD OF HOURS PASSES. WHAT CAN I DO? THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE?
