I had just gotton on route 5 north from the Agawam rotary. After I merged onto route 5 I drove a short distance then I heard a loud noise from the rear of my vehicle. Immediately after the loud noise my rear end kicked out and I lost complete control of my truck. I hit the brakes and tried to slightly counter steer and I still had absolutely no control over the truck. I then proceeded to go over a straight edge bridge curbing and then a bridge guardrail. I did not hit any potholes,their were none and I was driving in a straight line at approximately 40 mph. My truck was hanging over the bridge.
Affected vehicle: Drivers side door latch stopped latching entirely in frozen conditions and then thawed conditions. A frozen door latch, or a bent or kinked door latch actuation cable, may result in a door that will not open, will not close, or opens while driving condition, increasing the risk of injury. This year needs to be added to the recall. Recall 17S33
“I need to file a complaint because two dealerships refused to perform the required diagnostic for federal safety recall 19S07 on my F-150. They stated they will not replace the lead frame under ANY circumstance, even if the recall-related OSS failure damaged it. Both dealers refused the mandatory recall procedure. My truck is showing ALL recall symptoms, including speedometer dropouts, PRNDL flashing, gear indicator cycling, and erratic shifting. I need Ford to contact the dealership and authorize proper recall handling.”**
The backup camera will show an error on the screen inside the cab periodically then it will come back up fine. It will also flicker the image intermittently or blank out for a moment the pop back on. It's been exhibiting this behavior for close to a year
Wrench icon came on, truck wouldn’t shift out of first gear, speedometer and mileage stopped working. Lead Frame recall according to my mechanic, $2,000 fix out of pocket. Truck only has 140,000 miles but is a 2012 so Ford says I’m outside of the free recall replacement. Had no problems at all until over 135,000 miles, ridiculous that this is paid out of pocket when issues don’t arise until after the approved date
Previously had the vehicle diagnostic at Georgia Lina automotive into which I can provide the diagnostics later I was advised that it may be a internal issue dealing with the instrumental cluster a continuously battery warning flash on the dash panel. I was also told that it may be a electrical problem that even cause a fire internally which may damage the vehicle. I was told that out of pocket calls would be $1,956.05 I reviewed all of the issues that are considered or recall and wiring was most definitely listed under recall versus warranty. I've most recently had the issue of the powertrain warranty for the transmission taken care of under the customer satisfactory program. Unfortunately they did not have this particular issue of the instrument cluster listed due to faulty wiring. Now there maybe many others that face the very same issue, for it seems to also affects the Bluetooth connecting with phone under sync. And I am submitting this complaint in a better hope for for the review by your board or committee to conduct their own independent investigation which may makes the difference not only for me but once again for many others. I don't know if there's window. Past the 15 years if a vehicle has been previously purchased such as myself and there was a recall for this particular issue does the manufacturer allows the new owner a grace period as a courtesy which I believe would be appropriate as well as deemed it in the respect of hospitality. Suddenly downshifting into low gear. Recall not being accepted by ford. Please help
I have this exact problem (usually get an inverted, distorted, or blank image (blue screen)) with the backup camera on my 2012 F150. It's been happening for about two years. Why does the recall only go back to 2015? "Ford is recalling about 1.5 million vehicles in the United States due to a rear-view camera issue causing inverted, distorted, or blank image, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Sept. 9. The recall affects select vehicles from model years 2015 to 2019 of Lincoln MKC, Lincoln Navigator, Mustang, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, Expedition, Edge, Transit, Transit Connect, Econoline and Ranger, NHTSA said."
I have a 2012 F150 that has an issue with its Output shaft speed sensor, at random times my speedometer and odometer will quit working and my the transmission will make hard shift or won’t shift at all while driving.
The backup camera is spuratic in its operations. It works sometimes, but then it goes blank on the screen, or flutters. Also some times the screen shows clear picture, but the picture is 180 degrees out. What is on the left of the truck shows on the screen as on the right.
The backup camera intermittently work then gose dark and won't come back on it dose it while backing up
Three of my four doors sporadically fail to close and latch. When I open the door the latch does not fully open, so when I try to close the door the latch prevents it from closing. Maybe it is just normal wear and tear, but I understand there was a recall for something with latches on this era of f-150s, and my VIN is not part of that. I'm reporting this in case it's useful information and in case it indicates the recall should be expanded. So far I have been able to use a screwdriver to push the latch open, and the door will close and latch after that. I can not replicate this consistently.

I just got the truck in September 24 and just found out that the recall was never fixed on it valvo body lead framing is acting up on me now I just want it fixed since I have the car fax to prove it was not fixed at all I don't have the money to fix my self I am on disability and I had my family in the truck when I looked at my speedometer and it was not working but the RPM was and the engine light was on
My 2012 F150 has been experiencing the same rearview camera issue the 2015 Ford F150-450s have been have issues with that can intermittently display "a blank or distorted image," reducing the driver’s view of what’s behind the vehicle – increasing the risk of a crash. This has been happening for the past year and has been found on several message boards stating the same issue.
I went to Maplecrest Ford in Unión New Jersey to resolve this recall which is to include a Lead Frame replacement because the truck dropped gears and I almost crashed thanks to this recall they refuse to fix the issue only state to me they reprogrammed what was to be done and they said the rest is not their issue because the title is salvaged. Whether or not the title is salvaged it is their responsibility to fix the issue so that other drivers myself and my family are safe . I’m really upset simply because they just want to charge for these recall services when it is there obligation to fix for all involved safety.Im addition this vehicle has a airbag recall of which they also refused to fix so if I’m driving this airbag can deploy and who knows what damage can be be done not only to myself on the road but others as well .
My truck would shift gears and I would feel a kick. Then the speedometer would drop, and the airbag sensors would turn off. At times the dealership states it is an issue with the Transmission Lead Frame.
Transmission will abruptly shift into 1st gear at slow speeds. Transmission has been checked and there are know known mechanical issues with the unit. I saw an article where some 2011-14 F-150’s had the same issue.
The problem with this vehicle is the body control module has gone out. It controls everything from the safety functions to back up cameras and engine function and starting. My truck first, lost its back up camera within the first year of purchase, then the driver side, turn signals, stopped working, the battery drains overnight, and the latest issue is that the truck will turn off while driving down the road. Three months ago, the engine cut off and all systems locked up while I was driving 45 mph in town. There are no issues with any other system in the truck. Mechanics have tested everything and state. It is only the body control module. I am unable to purchase a body control module from Ford and my mechanic, the Ford mechanics, the Ford distributor for this region, nor Carmax, where I bought the car can get the part because Ford says that all of their shelf held parts for this vehicle type are defective. They state is a known issue and there is no date for resolution at all. The date on the shelf hold is zero month zero day zero year meaning no date. The body control module in this series of Ford F1 50s is a “known issue” to Ford. Due to their semi conductor manufacturer contract that has lapsed for this older technology, they state that the 4000 vehicle’s that currently require this part are not they’re greatest concern. They stated that there is an indefinite “shelf hold” on this part due to their only being less than 50 of them available for anyone to purchase. Those parts that are being held are also suspect of defect. Since I have only owned this vehicle for two years and it is under the extended warranty, I purchased with it having only 19,000 miles on it that I have put on it, it seems that they should at least allow me to buy one of the shelf, held pieces to replace mine. Please help the 4000 of us. Please encourage them to do what’s right for all of us. I still owe $17k on a non-running vehicle Carmax or Ford wont buy back.
Automatic transmission dropped out of gear while driving on the Interstate going around 60-65mph today. The wheels locked up and the vehicle just reved like it was in neutral. From other Ford owners (Unintended downshift into first gear can cause an abrupt wheel speed reduction, which could cause the rear tires to slide until the vehicle slows down. This condition could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash) My truck shows no mileage and the airbag light is on.No inspection has been performed as of today. Had swollen lug nuts Had to buy breaker bars to loosen them. Ended up destroying most off them Can't reuse them

Exhaust manifold studs are breaking on the ecoboost V6 engines (Gen 1 and Gen 2 series trucks), causing exhaust fumes to enter passenger area of vehicle when the heater/AC is on. The exhaust studs are on the back of the engine and happen on both sides. Ford knows of the problem and refuses to recall to replace them.
In 2019, my power steering assist fault/service advance trac came on as i lost power steering... It's recalled on my year and model, but not my vin. Replaced the rack and pinion for the electronic power assist steering (EPAS) in September of 2019. Last week, so April 18,'22, my steering started getting stiff and binding. Last night, April 25,22, my power steering failed completely again. Ford refused to acknowledge it was the exact issue last time and it's extremely scary driving without power steering, esp when you don't know if it's going to go out while driving! This is a known problem and has not been addressed, outside the select vins.
Transmission shifts from fourth gear to first gear by itself.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact stated while using the defroster, the rear windshield shattered. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a glass repair shop and was informed that the rear windshield needed to be replaced. The contact called and notified the local dealer of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

On Friday, October 29, 2021, at about 6:30 PM, I was driving my 2012 Ford F150 Super Crew 4WD Platinum PU down a two lane highway at about 60 MPH, when I heard a distinct, loud "pop" or "bang", so loud it scared me. I initially thought I had been shot at or a decent sized rock had struck the roof of my PU with some good velocity. After the initial shock, I didn't notice anything being different. It was dark outside. After a few moments, I had no idea what had happened, but moved on. The next morning, I got in my truck and immediately noticed the passenger side of the back window was shattered. I inspected the window and clearly saw a heat signature deformation in the lower left corner of the right pane. This was also the initial spot of the shattering.The rear window defroster system had shorted out and burned up. From Photo #4 I am not convinced there was not an actual fire at some point. I quickly found forums that document reports of Ford vehicles doing this for well over 10 years. My glass repair place does not want to work on it ($825) since it is not a glass problem and replacing the glass does not guarantee it won't just happen again. I am thankful I did not startle worse than I did. This easily could have caused me to lose control of my vehicle at highway speeds, not to mention the danger to passengers of shattering glass. When driving, vehicle will drop from 50 mph to 0, causing a sudden stop. Vehicle then will struggle to get out of first gear, and whine. Vehicle will not move in the speedometer, and will not shift past first gear.

01/18/2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:45 PM EST, MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING ON NB ROUTE 301 IN THE CROFTON, MARYLAND AREA. DUE TO THE RECENT SNOW AND COLD TEMPERATURES WE ARE EXPERIENCING HERE IN THE EASTERN PORTION OF THE UNITED STATES, WE HAD THE REAR DEFROSTER ACTIVATED IN OUR 2012 FORD F-150 XLT PICK UP TRUCK. WHILE ACTIVELY DRIVING THE VEHICLE, BOTH MY WIFE AND I HEARD AN EXTREMELY LOUD "POP" SOUND WHILE RIDING INSIDE OF THE CABIN OF THE TRUCK. I PROCEEDED TO LOOK IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR TO SEE IF I COULD DETERMINE WHERE THE NOISE ORIGINATED FROM AND THAT'S WHEN I OBSERVED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE GLASS WAS SHATTERED. AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE, I DID NOT OBSERVE ANY OTHER OBVIOUS DAMAGE AND WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHY THE WINDOW SUDDENLY CRACKED WITHOUT AN OBVIOUS CAUSE. AT THIS POINT I WAS QUITE PERPLEXED. I SUBSEQUENTLY TURNED TO GOOGLE IN AN ATTEMPT TO FIND A SOLUTION AND THAT'S WHEN I FIGURED OUT WHAT HAD OCCURRED. IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THROUGH VARIOUS FORUMS AND ONLINE SITES THAT MULTIPLE OTHER FORD F-150 OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE WITH THE SAME EXACT CIRCUMSTANCES IN PLACE (REAR DEFROSTER ACTIVATED, LOUD "POP" SOUND, OBSERVED A BROKEN REAR WINDOW). THE ARTICLES GO ON TO PROVIDE NIGHTMARISH EXCHANGES BETWEEN FORD F-150 OWNERS AND FORD DEALERSHIPS WHERE THEY ARE FORCED TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR THE REPAIRS DUE TO WARRANTIES BEING EXPIRED. BASED ON THE AGE OF THE TRUCK AS WELL AS IT'S MILEAGE, I TOO AM OUT OF WARRANTY. I DO NOT BELIEVE FORD IS RECOGNIZING OR HANDLING THESE ISSUES PROPERLY. THIS APPEARS TO STRICTLY BE A DESIGN DEFECT AND NO FAULT OR NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE OWNER/OPERATOR. MY SAFETY CONCERNS ARE DECREASED VISIBILITY AND SHARP TEMPERED GLASS SHARDS INSIDE OF THE CABIN. I HAVE SUBMITTED AN INSURANCE CLAIM AND AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY DEDUCTIBLE. BLOG ON WEB AND U TUBE REPAIR SITES MANY EXAMPLES OF MOON ROOF FAILURES FROM TRACK FAILURE TO MOON ROOF EXPLODING ON FORD VEHICLES. WHY DOES THIS NOT CONSTITUTE A RECALL. FORD DEALERSHIPS ARE ASKING THE CONSUMER TO PAY OUTRAGEOUS PRICES TO HAVE THEIR ENGINEERING FAILURES FIXED. A RIP OFF TO THE CONSUMER. I PAID ABOUT $43,000 FOR THIS VEHICLE. THE COST TO FIX THE MOON ROOF IS OVER 5% OF THE COST OF MY TRUCK.

ONCE I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND SAT FOR A FEW MINUTES IT ACTED LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. I HAVE READ THE REPORTS OF THE INTERCOOLER BEING MESSED UP AND SEVERAL YEARS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THAT PART DUE TO OIL AND WATER ENTERING IT BUT FORD SAYS IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO A PART NOT BEING COVERED. I HAVE HAD COILS REPLACED, SPARK PLUGS REPLACED, AND NOW I'M HAVING TO GO THRU THE WHOLE PROCESS AGAIN. ITS DANGEROUS AND FRUSTRATING. I'VE HAD IT HAPPEN A COUPLE MORE TIMES BUT NOT TO THAT EXTENT. THE GAUGES WILL PEG ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT THEN GO TO ZERO AND AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON. TRUCK RESETS TO NORMAL WHEN TURNED OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN MOST OF THE SUMMER. BUT THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED A FEW WEEKS AGO. REPAIR SHOP CAN'T REPLICATE IT AND THE COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC TEST DOESN'T FIND IT EITHER.

I STARTED TO RESEARCH THE INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THAT ECOBOOST MODELS FROM 2011-2015 HAD FAULTY TIMING CHAINS THAT STRETCHED / MALFUNCTIONED AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I FOUND SEVERAL TESTIMONIALS AND VIDEOS OF ECOBOOST OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I CONTACTED FORD AND BASICALLY GOT A "SORRY" RESPONSE SINCE I WAS 60 DAYS OVER THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THE REPAIR COST $~ 4000 AND FORD IS TURNING A BLIND EYE. I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS AND TAKE IMPECCABLE CARE OF MY VEHICLE. AND I'M NOW FACED WITH A $4000 REPAIR BILL WITH A TRUCK WITH 77K MILES ON IT. WE NEED NHTSA TO HELP FORD STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND MAKE THIS RIGHT TO THE CUSTOMER. A SMALL PLASTIC PART BREAKS AND RENDERS TO MOONROOF INOPERABLE. THE OWNER IS THEN STUCK WITH AN OPENING IN THE ROOF OF THEIR VEHICLE THAT WILL LET THE WEATHER IN. RAIN COULD POTENTIALLY SHORT OUT MUCH OF THE VEHICLES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE ESTIMATED COST TO FIX THIS AT THE DEALER IS AS MUCH AS $2400 FOR A PART THE PROBABLY COST FORD LESS THAN $1. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, BUT COULD VERY WELL HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AS I HAVE OPENED THE MOONROOF WHILE TRAVELING BEFORE. THE SOUND OF THE PLASTIC PIECES BREAKING WHILE OPENING COULD VERY WELL STARTLE A DRIVER IF OPENED WHILE TRAVELING. I HAVE TO TRAVEL WITH A PIECE OF PLASTIC IN THE TRUCK AND USE IT TO COVER THE OPENING IN CASE OF RAIN. ALSO THE VEHICLE ISN'T SECURE BECAUSE OF THE OPENING. I'M ALSO NOT SURE IF THIS WILL SHATTER THE GLASS IF OPENED FURTHER.

WE CALLED 911 AND WAITED IN THE EMERGENCY LANE ON TOP OF BRIDGE AND HAD A POLICE ESCORT OFF THE BRIDGE TO A PARKING LOT. THE EMERGENCY LANE IS VERY NARROW ON THE BRIDGE AND IT WAS A LITTLE NERVE-WRACKING. AFTER SITTING 5 MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO START THE TRUCK AGAIN WHICH IS ALWAYS THE CASE. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND HAVE CALLED LEFT MESSAGE TWICE TO SPEAK TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AND HE HAS YET TO CALL ME BACK. WAY TO GO FORD! MY FAITH IN YOU IS LOST. I REMEMBERED THE VERY LOUD THUMP SOUND THAT OCCURRED FIVE MINUTES AGO AND SAW THAT MY DEFROST WAS LIGHT FLICKING AND NOW I REALIZE THAT THE REAR DEFROST MUST HAVE A DEFECT, BECAUSE I NEVER EXPERIENCE THIS EVER BEFORE ON ANY OTHER VEHICLES I OWNED AND CONSIDERING I ONLY HAVE LESS THAN 37000 MILES THERE MUST BE A MAJOR DEFECT WITH THE F150 REAR PANEL WINDOWS. WHEN PARKED OVERNIGHT OR OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, UPON STARTING AND OPERATING THE TRUCK - EITHER REVERSE OR DRIVE - THE BRAKES FAIL TO ENGAGE THE FIRST ONE OR TWO TIMES. HAD TO EITHER HIT THE BRAKES VERY HARD OR I HAD TO REVERT THE TRUCK TO P(PARKING) POSITION. THIS JUST ABOUT WORKS TO BRING THE TRUCK TO A HALT, BUT EVEN THIS FAILED A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN D(DRIVING FORWARD). THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS AROUND FOR 10 METERS. THIS HAS LED ME TO ONLY STARTING THE VEHICLE WHEN THERE IS NO PERSON/OBJECT EITHER IN FRONT OR THE REAR. IT IS HIGH-RISK EACH TIME GIVEN THE DAMAGE THE TRUCK CAN DO IF IT COLLIDES INTO SOMETHING. IT IS NOT READILY REPRODUCIBLE AS IT WORKS FINE THEREAFTER AND HENCE COULD NOT PROVE IT EXISTS TO FORD TECHNICIANS. REPORTED IT FIRST TO FORD ALONG WITH AN E-BRAKE ISSUE ON 02/12/2015. THEY REPLACED THE E-BRAKE BUT BRUSHED OFF THIS ISSUE SAYING IT COULD BE RUST AND IT'S NORMAL ON VEHICLES PARKED FOR LONG. HOWEVER THE FREQUENCY HAS INCREASED OF LATE AND I SEE QUITE A FEW FORD OWNERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE ON FORD FORUMS. THE POSSIBLE ISSUES COULD BE THE VACUUM PUMP FAILING, BUT FORD TECHNICIANS CLAIM TO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. REALLY AT A LOSS AND HOPE FORD SENDS OUT A BULLETIN TO FIX THIS ASAP. AT A STOPLIGHT I ACTIVATED THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS I HEARD A SHARP LARGE CRACKING SOUND. UPON INVESTIGATION I FOUND THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED BUT STILL IN PLACE. NO SIGNS OF CHIPS FROM INSIDE VEHICLE OR OUTSIDE WERE SEEN BEFORE THE INCIDENT. AFTER GETTING BACK INSIDE THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS INOPERABLE. *TR

MY WIFE AND DUAGHTER WERE DRIVING DOWN I-75 WHEN SHE HEARD A COUPLE OF CHIMES FOLLOWED BY A MESSAGE TO SAFELY SHUT DOWN. THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER AT THAT POINT AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF BY ITSELF. SHE WJOSHUAAS LUCKY SHE WAS ALREADY IN THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE INTERSTATE PRIOR TO ANYTHING TOO BAD HAPPENING. I HAD ALREADY DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND FORD HAS HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE 4 EGT EXSENSORS SHUTTING THE VEHICLE DOWN TO PROTECT ENGINE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU CONSIDER I COULD HAVE BEEN TOWING 17,000LB TRAILER BEHIND ME WHEN THIS COULD HAPPEN. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE BAD SENSORS QUICKLY BEFORE SOMETHING WORSE HAPPENS. MY TRUCK HAS HAD NO MODIFICATIONS NOR CHIPS IN IT, SENSORS GO BAD AND KILLS THE ENGINE. ONLY 34,000 MILES ON IT.

WHEN TAKING OFF FROM BEING STOPPED THERE IS A THUMPING, CLICKING, SNAPPING TYPE SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE TRUCK. NOT ONLY DOES IT MAKE A NOISE BUT YOU CAN FEEL IT. TRUCK WAS TAKEN INTO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND DEALER COULD NOT FIND OUT WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. UPDATED 4/24/2015 *JS

THIS LEFT MY FAMILY AND I SITTING IN THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE ON A BLIND CORNER. THE TRUCK DID NOT DIE (I THOUGHT IT DID), I MASHED ACCELERATOR TO FLOOR AND TRUCK DID NOT RESPOND WHATSOEVER. MY WIFE WAS SCREAMING FRANTICALLY AT ME ASKING WHAT I WAS DOING WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO GET THE TRUCK TO MOVE OUT OF THE ONCOMING LANE. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS THE TRUCK REGAINED POWER AND ACCELERATED NORMALLY. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3X NOW AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE TRUCK BUT DO AND MY WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE IT AT ALL. SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF THE ECOBOOST F150 HAVE EXPERIENCE THIS PRECISE PROBLEM. FORD HAS DONE NOTHING TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM AND HAS PROMISED A FIX FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS. WHILE THE TRUCK HAS OTHER MAJOR ISSUES THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM IS GOING TO RESULT IN DEATHS. IT'S NOT A MATTER OF IF, BUT WHEN. *TT
