The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (POWER TRAIN); however, the remedy failed to fix the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had occurred after the recall repair was performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 191,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 109,000 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 276,000. The contact later confirmed the discrepancy with a Carfax report that listed the mileage at 276,000.

I recieved a Text message months after this happened. They knew about it a month prior. I could have saved alot if they had done there job. Nit following procedures. It says in writing. I was coming to a intersection, proceeding to stop, and it would not let me. I was standing on the brake peddle with both feet( I am 275lb, 6'7 ,) I ran into back of van, was Sued, and my insurance went up. I lost not one but 2 raptors to the same issue. BACKUP CAMERA ONLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. MOST OF THE TIME THE DISPLAY JUST SAYS "REAR CAMERA UNAVAILABLE," SOMETIMES JUST A BLUE SCREEN, AND OCCASIONALLY WILL DISPLAY THE IMAGE BRIEFLY, THEN GO BLUESCREEN/CAMERA UNAVAILABLE. TURNING IGNITION OFF, THEN RESTARTING MAY RESET CAMERA AND BRIEFLY DISPLAY THE IMAGE, THEN BLUESCREEN/UNAVAILABLE AGAIN.

This 2014 pickup was started at about 8:00 AM and the manager went inside the building for a few minutes, (less than 5). A vender that was delivered petroleum product saw that the truck was smoking and on fire in the cab and he told the technicians in the shop who ran out with fire extinguishers to put the fire out. The doors had locked automatically with the keys inside the vehicle. A spare set of keys were acquired shortly and the vehicle was opened with the key. The vehicle was turned off and the hood was popped. a fire extinguisher was deployed while another technician disconnected the battery which then extinguished the fire. The heater motor had melted out of the dash and the dash had started on fire. The dealer was notified and we were told to call Ford and report to our insurance. We are self insured so there is no one to report to. There were no symptoms, problems leading up to this thermal event. The vehicle has 78,000 miles on it and is in great mechanical shape. We are the original vehicle owners. The backup camera was replaced at a Ford Dealership on 3/26/20 because the screens were showing blank images and sometimes distorted images. at that time the mileage was 82564. Now the backup camera is doing the exact same thing, and the mileage is 144236. This is a safety issue backing up and can cause an accident. There have been recalls on most models but 2014 was not included. Ford has stated that the recalls are tied to the VIN., thus even though we paid Ford and replaced the camera in 2020, the camera is not covered although it is the same parts of model year VINS that were recalled. The 2014 should have been included in the recalls, as well as specific part recalls.

We replaced the back up camera on 3/26/20. It was showing blank images and sometimes distorted images. Now the vehicle has 144,236 miles and the same issue is occurring. There are numerous year model recalls for this exact issue, yet the 2014 was not included. This will be the third back up camera. This is dangerous and should be recalled.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH and exiting the gas station, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle jerked and then stalled. The check engine warning light was intermittently illuminated. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the timing chain was stretched and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that three months prior to the failure, the heater on the vehicle failed to operate as intended. The heater was repaired. The contact also stated that several weeks later, the backlight failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the socket had corroded. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 178,000.

Fuse 27, a known problem with the 12th generation F150, manufactured from 2009-2014, burned through in my truck melting the fuse block in the process. The fuse block in question is the main fuse block located toward the front of the engine bay near the radiator. This resulted in a no start condition while parked in a parking lot. I was required to purchase Ford’s repair kit for their engineering problem and relocate the fuse to a new spot in the fuse block. If this had happened while driving, I fear my truck could have resulted in an electrical fire with my family inside. Please consider requiring Ford to issue a safety recall for this incredibly dangerous situation.

While driving at highway speed of 55mph, the vehicle went into limp mode. Large gear icon came on the dash, speedometer went out as well as mileage indicator. The vehicle lost almost all power and started to slow rapidly. Pressing all the way down on the gas made the truck go maybe 30mph as a guess. This was a very dangerous situation as there was no where to pull over and cars were coming up behind me quickly. I finally was able to get off an exit ramp and pull over. After restarting the vehicle it moved properly. I scanned the vehicle and received the output speed shaft sensor fault code P0721 and P0722. There is a recall for this problem, but since I proactively brought my truck into Ford in July, all they did was a reprogram instead of fixing the actual cause of this, which is the lead frame in the transmission. Had I waited to bring my truck in for recall until those codes were thrown they would have fixed it. So now I’m stuck with a dangerous vehicle unless I pay for something Ford knew was already a problem.

Back up camera does not work more than it does. Just blank blue screen. Sometimes the screen says something like Rearview camera not available. Most of the time it says nothing. If it is on, it's very bad picture w/alot of static lines in it. This problem started in 2015 and steady got worse through the years.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60-70 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted to first gear. The contact was able to pull over safely and restart the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for the recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The vehicle was repaired, but after leaving the dealer, the vehicle began to jerk. The speedometer and instrument cluster were blank. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to the molded lead frame. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.

1. Aug 2024, shortly after transmission recall was performed. I shifted vehicle from Park to Drive, vehicle was on very slight incline and rolled backwards, as if in Neutral. Shifted vehicle back to Park, then to Drive. Same thing happened again, seemed as if vehicle was in Neutral. Turned vehicle off, waited about 2 minutes, restarted and vehicle shifted appropriately. 2. Oct 2024, speedometer, dashboard information system and navigation not working. I had to use my phone's gps to monitor speed and direction. Once I reached my location and it was safe to turn the vehicle off, I did so and waited about 2 minutes, restarted and all information was active and working correctly. This appears to be another electrical/program issue as with the recent issue of downshifting recall. I had experienced the downshifting issue and I had even taken it to a transmission shop but they could find nothing until the recall from Ford was issued July 1, 2024. I bought this truck 2 and a half years ago and from day one it has been nothing but trouble. I was sold a lemon I have spend God knows how much on this truck and now it sits in the yard with a cracked turbo, electrical issues and transmission problems that I've been told has been a problem along time and I'd have to agree. Within the first 3 months of owning the truck it was in the shop 3 or 4 times. I had all kinds of warranty's added to my loan that I wasn't aware of and I've tried having the issue handled but Ford dealership will not tdo anything about it. I still over over 20,000 dollars on this truck I don't know if you can help but if you can I'd greatly appreciate it. I've had numerous sensors replaced, cv joints replaced, a arms replaced, wheel bearings, catalytic converters, ball joints, brake calipers, brake lines, struts, purge valve, engine mount, fuel pump twice, and I'm sure there's more alot of this was in the first not even year.

Power steering assist fault message pops up and can’t steer the vechicle. It even happens while driving. Sometimes comes on and stomestimes I can drive a entire day with no issues but then towards the end of the day I go to start the truck or be driving and steering locks up and pops up the message says power steering assist fault Luckily everytime it happens it’s right when I start the truck except the few times I was driving and it happen I was on the far right lane and even though it’s hard to turn the wheel I was able to get off on the shoulder when it happens

Multiple times now upon entering traffic. My truck will start to take off normally then all of a sudden down shift into 1st gear and not shift out of first until I pull over shut the truck off and restart the truck. Then it seems to drive fine after that.

This truck has suffered all sorts of issues relating to the lead frame inside of the transmission. This lead frame houses the speed sensor, range sensor ,and temperature sensor. With extensive repairs the issue keeps arising. Ive had 3 new Remanufactured transmissions installed im currently about 6,000 miles into my new transmission with the same issues. Erratic gear changes. Ex. 4th gear to 1st without warning. Loss of 1st,2nd and 6th gears. Becomes stuck in 5th. Just a random array it seems to be with this one almost everytime i cross the 130F degree trans fluid temp the problems start. I have done alot of research into this as i am a technician as well and the only thing i can come up with is bad part production for the sensors and lead frame.

OK, the first problem would be that there was a fuse, apparently, that was engineered too small and eventually would burn up, making a bad connection, which would. all of a sudden shut your engine off. Mel, I was at highway speed, doing 6570 miles an hour, and all of a sudden my engine just cut right out. no power steering, no nothing. just shut right off wouldn't exactly call that a safe situation. Poor engineering second issue would be the fact that you have obvious engineering problems with the fact that they're putting carbon based steel parts or studs in the exhaust manifold that are obviously just going to rot away and it costs thousands to have that problem taken care of. Obviously you don't put that type of steel in an aluminum product because it's not going to last. It's everyone. Everyone knows this. So that's about about it. It's enough to **** **** the Pope. And I think you would have to say that it's a pretty it's a pretty important safety issue. It doesn't matter to me whether or not you know, it was within a warranty. or not. It's an obvious engineering issue or they're just they just don't care. It's the cheapest way to go so they don't give a **** They know it won't happen under warranty. So why worry about it? And that's about it, man. Don't count on me. Everybody in afford again.

While any driving conditions or speeds for no reason at all abs, traction, emergency brake system warning lamps come on. My brakes are good. Took truck to a shop and had brakes inspected and nothing is wrong with the brake system. When turn off vehicle and restart warning lamps turn off. Sometimes the check electronic differential warning lamps comes on with the 3 brake warning lamps.

Throttle body failure causes truck to go into 'limp-home' mode, meaning a significant reduction in acceleration occurs without warning. This is extremely dangerous when driving at highway speeds, turning with oncoming traffic, ect. Many times we must pull over and the truck has to be turned off for several minutes, before we can start it again and continue on our journey. $800+ repair cost is what we were quoted today by the local Ford dealership. Ridiculous! This is a known issue with other 2014 Ford models, but not covered under CSP 13N03. Why is that? Many complaints and two class action lawsuits in California that are pending and it seems like NOBODY cares.

While driving 50mph the transmission downshifted to 2 gear and the rear end locked up and I slid. I was able to shift to neutral and gain control. This has happened twice at that speed and you can feel a jolt like it’s happening at lower speeds. I believe this is an electrical issue in the transmission as the gear indicator on the dash will flicker between “D” and “2”. I have a video of this that can be shared. I have not called Ford yet but there does appear to be a recall on the 2013 F150 models where there is an issue with the lead frame which sounds very similar to what I’m experiencing. My 2014 has the same transmission 6R80 that’s used in that truck as well. There was no warning when this happens.

2014 F-150 has issues with shifting while driving and losing voltage to the transmission lead frame. Safety issue for driving and changing to incorrect gears. When stationary in park, the truck will not start due to loss of voltage and parking sensor issues. Odometer display shows wrench icon shows while driving. Error codes P0706 and P0707 codes show up while driving. Ford dealership has done diagnostics and has determined the problem is the Transmission Molded Lead Frame Electrical Failure. They have reported that this is a common issue.

Driving on the freeway, speedometer starts randomly sensing different speeds like the output speed sensor is not reading correctly. Transmission then downshifts to the speed that the OSS is reading and downshifts to 1st gear while im driving on the freeway going 65mph. It was so abrupt that it locked the differential and chirped the tires, again all while going freeway speeds in traffic! Could have gotten rear ended or caused an accident. I will be taking to Ford to see what they say but i shouldnt have to pay a dime for manufacturing defect and safety issue.

This make and model is having the exact same 6 speed transmission issues as earlier recalls. The final straw was when the truck failed to register the speed and slowly crept into oncoming traffic at night, while I turned left. It bucks and shifts hard at neighborhood and highway speeds. More often than not, it is a down speed shift and aggressive, whiplash buck. I lose control of the vehicle and the speedometer goes to 0 even at highway speeds. I called into the hotline and made a case- Case ID 11514803 but I haven't heard anything. That replacement part is on back order for a year + so my truck is unsafe and inoperable.

While driving my truck several times now it shuts off in the middle of driving it without any warning. Many lights come on oil, wrench, check 4x4, limp mode, says remove item on passenger seat. Nothing on seat. Sometimes the truck starts back up other times it does not for approximately 15 minutes. Was almost rear ended by another vehicle one time. I have complained to Ford Motor company and unfortunately got no where with my complaint. I have read many complaints on the internet about the same problem and seems like it is only a ford truck problem. Widespread in the years I have seen complaints from 2006-2020 with the same problem. Something needs to be done before someone is hurt or even killed.

Rear camera for backing is reversed. In the camera’s view on my frontal screen the left side of the vehicular is on the right side. Safety issues when backing up due to display being reversed especially at night. Electrical system on dash computer and headlights and dash lights turn off and on periodically. They blink off and on for a few seconds. Also affects rear camera sometimes but turning off camera and computer screen said to contact the dealer for camera issues. Also have check engine light coming on. Hand held computer and car shop both state “ low voltage, oxygen sensor, bank one, sensor one. Three times check engine light on in past 2 weeks after shop stated it was fixed. Electrical short in dash and computer screen could be shorting out sensors.

This began in November of 2022 as an Intermittent concern. At first, it appeared that I could temporally correct by pulling over completely shutting off the truck and re-starting (re-booting) but is rapidly becoming worse and today (02/09/2023) became untenable, no matter what I did; the speedometer would not work or behaved erratically for brief periods; the information center display disappeared and then became dashes; the transmission randomly down-shits gears causing the wheels to lock up briefly or does not shift at all, causing engine RPMs to spike. While thankfully this has only occurred at speeds below 40 MPH, I feel that this is a safety concern for myself and others as operation of my vehicle becomes haphazard and unpredictable and I am very concerned that it may happen at higher speeds causing a crash. While I have not had the "wrench" displayed, I have read the following codes: U0401 INVALID DATA RECEIVED FROM ECM/PCM; P0316 MISFIRE AT START; P0722 OUTPUT SPEED SHAFT SENSOR The local dealer sates that he believes it to be a Molded Lead Frame issue that was recalled in previous F-150 models but as mine was a 2014, it was not covered. Obviously, the problem has not been resolved for subsequent models.Additionally, the needed replacement part is unavailable and on indefinite back-order, or as the dealer put it, on "inter-galactic back-order" So now, I have an expensive paper weight in my driveway, waiting for a part that may be months or even up to a year to arrive.

Vehicle got stuck in the snow. Tried getting vehicle out and almost had it free when I noticed the temperature gauge rising. I then shut the vehicle down and was calling for help for 10 minutes then noticed a flame come out of the engine bay. Yelled for my family to get out. Me and my wife rushed to get our kids out of the vehicle and down the road. The cab and engine bay are gone. I don’t know what caused the fire but it needs to be figured out my family was endangered.

Approx. speed of 50 mph vehicle suddenly dropped into 1st gear resulting in rapid deceleration. Both speedometer and tach were fluctuating and had no direct correlation with actual vehicle motion. Defect was momentary and truck resumed to normal shifting pattern and normal speedometer/tach function.

When starting my truck I am now getting a hill descent control fault and service advancetrac.also shows a weak battery but the battery is new and has been checked okay.when you get these warnings the power steering becomes inoperable.also no turn signals work.I’ve not been able to get it into my local ford service as of this time.if I keep switching it off and recranking the warnings go away and all is well.what I don’t understand is why anyone would build a vehicle that would shut down your steering because of a warning that goes away. I have since read about other people having this happen while actually driving and losing steering and some power.this could be life threatening if your going about 70 miles an hour in the middle of traffic. I don’t understand how it’s legal to build a vehicle with this system.

My transmission had been acting funny earlier in the day. Like not changing gears correctly. Later in the day, driving home from work, it started bucking and and the instrument cluster started going crazy. It started accelerating and I had to hit the brakes. It never threw any codes. A couple days later driving I had no power, and instrument cluster went crazy again. I seen a wrench and finally threw a code. I keep a code reader in my truck, it threw po720. It started driving fine after I turned it off and back on. I went home and read about the Ford F150 lead frame recall and my truck was made at the same plant. However Ford says, I am not covered. I do not understand how they can cover trucks a couple months before mine.

Coasted to off ramp parked on shoulder under bridge. Need a tow to Ford Dealership 30 min away. AAA, did not get a tow, a nice Samaritan called the police to which we had to pay out of pocket for a tow which showed up in 10 minutes. (sent receipt for tow to AAA reimbursement 30 - 60 days). Dealership indicated this was in the mechanic notes, known problem for this FORD 150 ENGINE. Found in above url's Describing everything to a t of what the mechanics did to fix it. Would like to be reimbursed for a known issue of F150 Fuel Pump fix.

Unable to unlock/lock driver side door with key fob and/or lock switch inside. Action taken at dealership: Dealership pulled door pane and found no power at latch connector. Pulled connector out from between door and body, found power wire broken, along with two other broken wires, yellow and other wire chaffed to copper wire inside. Repaired wiring that is hidden and reassembled connector/panel. Possible electrical short inside dust boot, which could cause further damage and/or electrical damage.

The contact also stated that the brake pedal and the turn signals failed to operate as needed. The contact's husband used excessive force to steer the vehicle back to the residence. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with an electrical failure that could only be repaired by an authorized Ford dealer. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where he was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The contact was also given an estimate for the repair. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was towed back to her residence and was not repaired. The failure mileage was 185,516.

On 12-26-21 tried to start truck, It cranked but did not start. called for a tow to the dealer. while waiting on tow I looked up fuse information to the fuel pump. after locating fuse that controls power to fuel pump relay I pulled fuse and it was burnt on one side of the prong. I called off tow and got home and did some research for this problem seems 09 thru 14 this particular 20amp fuse is being over heated. I also found a service bulletin 15-0137 on a ford site, and its stating that a ( Fuel Pump Fuse Relocation Kit ) in which I have to pay $270 for. I believe this is fire hazard and a safety because if this fuse is blown while driving it will shut down the vehicle. I have watched several video's on this issue and believe it should be recalled do to the nature of the problem. There was also no warning nor any warning lamp on the dash to show an issue. made an apointment to the ford dealer for 12-27-2021 to have this relocation kit put on before there is a fire from this overheating of this fuse in the fuse compartment.

driving down the interstate at around 70 mph all of the lights went out and the veh shut down after about a min or so I started the veh with out any problem. The battery light went on I drove about tem more miles. I shut the veh off got gas pulled out of the gas station and the lights went out and the engine shut off. I was driving at 45 mph and suddenly, the truck downshifted into low gear and slowed immediately down to about 5 mph. A vehicle following me nearly rear ended me. On more occasions, trying to get off the highway, the trucks motor overreved, then slammed into gear as if it was trying to shift, but couldn’t. I immediately called Ford Corporate and was told to take it to a dealership. I did this and was told it would be 6 weeks before they can get me in the shop, and that was if that part could be found. I have seen a recall for 2011-2013 F150’s, but Ford told me that 2014 was not included. This is very dangerous for anyone to have this happen to, luckily, I have many years of experience driving combination vehicles. If I had been towing my 36’ camper or if this happened to an inexperienced driver, it could have been disastrous. I have since taken it to a small, experienced transmission shop and was told that this is very, very common. Even on 2014 and up. Any 6R80 transmission in a Ford. Please take a look at this and update these model years for everyone’s safety.

When taking off into traffic the truck simply dies, this doesn't happen all the time. When I try to crank the truck the it tries to turn over, but sounds like no fuel it getting through. The last time this happen my wife and son pulled out of the subdivision onto two lane road going up hill. I had the truck towed to the nearest parking lot. When looking at the fuse box I noticed the 20amp mirco fuse was burnt/melted into slot on the fuse panel. I was able to get the fuse out and replaced it with a 15amp mico fuse. The truck started up with no problems. My wife also told me that she has noticed the truck looses fuel pressure when going down the road. This happens occasionally. we have notice the battery lite comes on when the problem occur. when this happens I could usually wait 20 min and then it would start, but the last time it happen the 20 min waiting period didn't help. I took the truck to Pinnacle Ford in Lexington and they told me there the was known problem with a tech advisory bulletin associated to this problem. The fix the problem and I feel better my wife and children will not be suck on the road with a broken down truck.

Vehicle was on & operating for 20 minutes and after traveling 1-2 miles all of the sudden smoke came from engine compartment. Pulled over immediately, and turned vehicle off when a full fledged fire began in the engine block on passenger side. Ran into gas station and used a fire extinguisher to get fire under control. 911/Fire Dept was contacted and hosed down hood, engine compartment. Analysis showed the source of the fire was from the passenger side hood accent light (factory installed) short circuited and was the origin of the fire.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65-70 MPH MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED FROM 6TH TO 2ND GEAR, DECELERATING EXTREMELY QUICKLY. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO AN EXIT AND PUT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE AND THE TRANSMISSION RESUMED LIKE NORMAL. THIS IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE FACT THIS VEHICLE IS MY DAILY DRIVER AND I USUALLY HAVE MY KIDS IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. WHEN THE TECH ARRIVED I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE, A WINDOW JUST BREAKING ON ITS OWN. HE SAID THAT HE SEES A FAIR NUMBER OF 2014 F150S WITH THIS PROBLEM, AND EVEN THOUGHT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR SUCH. HE SAID THE HEATING ELEMENT IN THE REAR DEFROST SHORTS OUT AND BREAKS THE WINDOW. MY 2014 FORD F150 QUAD CAB TRUCK WAS PARKED AFTER DRIVING TO WORK, APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING. AFTER PARKING THE CAR, ANOTHER EMPLOYEE NOTICED THE COOLING FAN WAS STILL RUNNING (OR ENGINE-ON SOUND) AND AT THE END OF MY ~9 HOUR SHIFT, I RETURNED TO MY FORD TRUCK WITH A DEAD BATTERY, WHICH REQUIRED A BOOST TO START THE TRUCK. AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM WORK, THE COOLING FAN CONTINUED TO OPERATE WITH THE VEHICLE PARKED AND THE IGNITION SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION. AFTER REVIEWING THE ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM USING A FORD MOTORCRAFT ONLINE MANUAL SUBSCRIPTION, AND TRACING THE COOLING FAN CIRCUIT, WE FOUND THAT THE COOLING FAN RELAY (HI-POWER FOMOCO, RELAY NUMBER O101K 8T2T-14B192-AA) IF LIGHTLY TAPPED WITH A SMALL SCREWDRIVER HANDLE, THE COOLING FAN TURNED OFF. THE AIR FLOW THROUGH THE COOLING FAN AND HEAT EX-CHANGERS DID NOT FEEL HOT IN TEMPERATURE AND THERE WAS NO OVERHEAT CONDITION WITH THE COOLING SYSTEM, MALFUNCTIONING AC SYSTEM, OR AIR FLOW RESTRICTIONS. A NEW RELAY (ONE OF EIGHT RELAYS [WITH THE SAME PART NUMBER] LOCATED IN THE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX - BJB) WAS PURCHASED AT A LOCAL FORD DEALER BASED ON THE RELAY NUMBER MENTIONED ABOVE. THIS RELAY WAS IN-STOCK. UPON INSPECTING THE OLD RELAY, THE SIDE OF THE OUTER PLASTIC HOUSING HAD A MELT/BURN MARK, SHOWING SIGNS OF OVERHEATING. THIS WAS A CONCERN, AS WHEN THE OLD RELAY OUTER PLASTIC COVER WAS REMOVED, SIGNS OF ARCING/OVERHEATING WITHIN THE BI-METAL RELAY SWITCH WAS FOUND AND THE BI-METAL PIECE WAS NOT PROPERLY ATTACHED. WITH ALL OF THE PLASTIC MATERIAL IN THE BJB, THERE IS A CONCERNS THAT THE RELAY COULD CONTINUE OVERHEATING AND MELT THE PLASTIC MATERIAL IN THE BJB, CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE OR FIRE RISK IN THAT AREA. I HAVE INCLUDED PHOTOS OF THE FAILED RELAY. THE NEW RELAY APPEARS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY AND THE COOLING FAN DOES NOT RUN WITH THE IGNITION IN THE OFF POSITION AND TRUCK PARKED. NO RECALLS.

I THEN LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE'S POWER AS IF IT HAD SHIFTED ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL. I WAS THEN FORCED TO VERY QUICKLY BRAKE AND GET BACK INTO MY LANE AS I HAD NO POWER AND ANOTHER VEHICLE CAME AROUND A TURN IN THE PASSING LANE AND APPROACHED TOWARDS US. I HAD TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF BRIEFLY TO REGAIN CONTROL, AND THEN HAD TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY. THE TRUCK THEN PERFORMED THE ISSUE AGAIN WHILE GOING UP A STEEP HILL DESPITE SLOWING TO 60MPH. I HAVE SINCE HAD THE VEHICLE PERFORM THE ISSUE A MYRIAD OF TIMES, USUALLY DUE TO HILLS GOING 30-40 MPH SINCE I'VE HAD TO AVOID HIGHWAYS. EACH TIME, I AM SINCERELY SCARED FOR MY LIFE AND WELL BEING. I TOOK IT INTO BOZEMAN FORD FROM 6/22/20 TO 6/29/20 AFTER FIRST TAKING THE VEHICLE TO FOSTER'S MASTERTECH AND HAVING THEM REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND AGREE IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE WITH A BOZEMAN FORD TECH AND HE ALSO AGREED THAT IT WAS A SCARY EXPERIENCE AND STATED THIS TO A SERVICE REP. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH MY REAR DEFROST OPERATING. I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING THAT HAD AN "ELECTRICAL BURN" SMELL. I THENHEARD A LOUD "POP". DID SOME SEARCHING ONLINE, AND FOUND SIMILAR SITUATION REGARDING A BURNT/MELTED FUSE 27 (THE FUEL PUMP FUSE). FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE SO MUCH THAT THEY EVEN CREATED A PART TO MOVE THE FUEL PUMP TO A LARGER FUSE. I'M GLAD THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENED WHILE SITTING STILL AND I WAS ABLE TO GET THE FUSED REPLACED WITHOUT INCIDENT. HOWEVER, I WOULD IMAGINE THAT SOON MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE STOPPED WHILE TRAVELING DUE TO THE FUEL PUMP FUSE COMPLETELY DYING. I DROVE MY F-150 ECCOBOOST TRUCK TO THE SNOW, SAME AREA I HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF TIMES AND SUDDENLY SMOKE BURST FROM THE ENGINE, THEN FLAMES SHOT OUT AROUND THE HOOD, POPPED THE HOOD AND FOUGHT THE FIRE FOR HALF AN HOUR, IT KEPT RESTATING. IT STRANDED MYSELF AND CHILDREN, AND WE HAD A HARROWING EXPERIENCE THAT WAS PRETTY DICEY. FORD HAD JUST PUT IN A NEW ENGINE, AT MY COST, +14,000.00, AFTER THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED. THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR IT AT THEIR COST, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE COPIES OF THE FAULT CODES FROM BEFORE THE FAILURE OF THE TIMING CHAIN THAT DESTROYED THE OLD ENGINE. THE NEW ONE HAD UNDER 10,000 MILES ON THE NEW ENGINE, PROBABLY ABOUT 5,000 MILES ON IT. WE HAD DRIVEN ON THE RELATIVELY FLAT GRADE MAINLINE ROAD, AND DROVE UP ABOUT 0.8 MILES, CLIMBING MAYBE 400 FT ELEVATION OVER THAT DISTANCE. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF TURNING THE VEHICLE AROUND WHEN THE ENGINE BURST INTO FLAMES. IT WAS ON A GRAVEL ROAD. WE HAD TRAVELED FROM HOME, 35.2 MILES.

I GOT A LEFT REAR DOOR AJAR WARNING ON THE DASH OF MY 2014 FORD F150 CREW CAB PICK UP TRUCK. I WOULD CHECK THE DOOR AND IT WAS CLOSED PROPERLY. EVERY TIME I STARTED THE TRUCK I WOULD GET THE WARNING. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH FORD TO FIND OUT WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING. ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT WITH FORD, I STARTED THE TRUCK AND HEARD A BUZZING TYPE NOICE FROM THE REAR SEAT AREA. I GOT OUT TO HE TRUCK WITH IT RUNNING AND OPENED THE LEFT REAR DOOR TO SEARCH FOR THE BUZZING NOISE. AS I WAS LOOKING FOR THE NOISE I STARTED TO SMELL PLASTIC BURNING, THEN OUT OF THE LEFT PILLAR BETWEEN THE FRONT AND BACK DOOR SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT OF WHERE THE SEAT BELT GOES BEHIND THE COVER WHERE THE SEAT BELT RETRACTS TO. SMOKE AND THE SMELL OF THE PLASTIC STARTED TO FILL THE CABIN AREA OF THE TRUCK. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF. WITHIN ABOUT TEN MINUTES THE SMOKE CLEARED BUT THE SMELL OF BURNED PLASTIC WAS STRONG. I THEN HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO MILLER FORD IN LUMBERTON, NEW JERSEY. A PRELIMINARY REPORT FROM FORD IS THAT THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS IN THE DOOR POST AND UNDER THE CARPET AREA IS MELTED. I AM AWAITING TO HEAR FROM FORD THE FINAL STORY AT THIS TIME.

THE DEFROST SENSOR HAS BEEN CAUSING THIS TO THE 09-14 F150 AND FORD IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS.. I CALLED A COUPLE DEALERSHIPS AND ASKED THEM ABOUT IT AND THEY ALSO TOLD ME THEY HAVE HAD A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE CALL THEM ABOUT THIS ISSUE. WHAT IS FORD GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS? VEHICLE FIRE. I STARTED THE VEHICLE UP IN MY DRIVEWAY AND HEARD A SMALL POP/EXPLOSION AND SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE TRUCK, POPPED THE HOOD AND COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE ISSUE. I STARTED THE TRUCK AGAIN AND NOTICED WHERE THE FIE/SMOKE WAS, SHUT OFF THE TRUCK, AND PROCEEDED TO RUSH INTO THE HOUSE TO GRAB THE KITCHEN FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT DRIVING AND MY HOUSE DIDN'T CATCH FIRE. I CALLED MY MECHANIC AND HAD THE TOW TRUCK DELIVER THE VEHICLE TO HIM AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS THE OEM ALTERNATOR THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WANTING TO REPORT THE ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP IN THEIR WORDS SAID "NOT SURE WHAT YOU WANT US TO DO?" NOT ARE YOU OK, THIS IS SERIOUS LET US HELP, ETC. JUST A SIMPLE PASSING THE BUCK TO A 1800 NUMBER TO FORD. I FILED A CASE WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY, BUT THAT TOO WAS A JOKE. THEY DIDN'T CARE EITHER. I WAS TOLD THEY'LL FILE IT AS NEGATIVE FEEDBACK AND SINCE I WAS SO UPSET, I WAS DIRECTED TO CREATE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. I FOUND THIS VERY DISTURBING AS FORD APPEARS TO NOT HAVE CARED ONE BIT ABOUT THEIR MANUFACTURED VEHICLE CATCHING FIRE OR THE POSSIBILITY OF SOMEONE GETTING HURT OR KILLED. I HOPE THIS COMPLAINT FINDS THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND PREVENTS A REAL ACCIDENT OR TRAGEDY FROM HAPPENING. AT THIS TIME I DON'T HAVE THE REPAIR INVOICES AS THE FIRE DID A DECENT AMOUNT OF DAMAGE EVEN THOUGH I DID PUT IT OUT WITHIN 60 SECONDS OF IT STARTING. THE MECHANICS ARE STILL ASSESSING ALL THE DAMAGE DONE. SINCE THE FIRE WAS IN THE ENGINE BAY AREA ON THE BOTTOM, THERE ISN'T MUCH VISIBLE BURN DAMAGE (AND IT IS CURRENTLY COVERED IN DRY CHEM FROM THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER). I DID FILE A CASE WITH FORD AS MENTIONED AND IF YOU NEED THE CASE NUMBER I'D BE GLAD TO PROVIDE IT.

THE FIRST TIME WAS A LOCAL SHOP DUE TO KNOW DEALERSHIPS CLOSE BY, SECOND TIME I WAS CLOSE TO MTN VIEW FORD IN CHATTANOOGA, TN. AFTER TROUBLE SHOOTING AND VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF ON THE TECHNICIAN, THEY WERE ABLE TO TRACE THE USE DOWN THAT IS PICTURED. THE TRUCK DID NOT LEAVE ANY ERROR CODES OR INDICATIONS TO ISSUE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT CAUSING THE IMMEDIATE ISSUE IT WAS RUNNING FINE WITH NO PROBLEMS INDICATED. THE TECHNICIAN DID INDICATE TO ME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES THAT HE WAS AWARE OF. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I FEEL THAT THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLACED INTO A RECALL DUE TO THE DANGER THAT I ENCOUNTERED WITH THE VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF WHILE ON INTERSTATE AND MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH NO INDICATIONS OF ISSUES. AFTER UNLOADING THE LAST BAG, I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, BY THE TIME I WENT TO POP THE HOOD SMOKE AND ALREADY TAKEN OVER THE CAB AND A FIRE HAD STARTED UNDERNEATH THE PASSAGER SIDE DASHBOARD. I RUSHED TO CALL 911, BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED THE TRUCK WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THE HEATER STOPPED WORKING MOMENTS BEFORE THE FIRE AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT RULED IT AN ELECTRICAL FIRE, LIKELY FROM THE HEAT SOURCE.

DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH, THE "CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM" WARNING FLASHED ON THE DASH. I WENT TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WAS LOCKED IN PLACE. I PHYSICALLY COULD NOT DEPRESS THE PEDAL, NOT EVEN ENOUGH TO DISABLE THE CRUISE CONTROL. I HAD TO SWITCH CRUISE OFF ON THE WHEEL, SHIFT TO NEUTRAL, AND COAST TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. SHUT THE TRUCK DOWN, TURNED BACK ON AND THE CODE DISAPPEARED AND MY BRAKES WORKED AGAIN. LATER THAT DAY, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE AGAIN. PHYSICALLY COULD NOT DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT WAS LIKE IT WAS LOCKED IN PLACE AND I COULD NOT BRING THE TRUCK TO A STOP. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE DEWEY FORD IN ANKENY, IA A COUPLE NIGHTS LATER AND THEY BEGAN DIAGNOSTICS. 4 DAYS LATER, THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, AND ADVISED ME TO COME PICK UP THE TRUCK. NOTHING AGAINST THE DEALER, AS THEY CANNOT FIX WHAT THEY CAN'T REPRODUCE, AND THEY WERE KIND ENOUGH TO PROVIDE A LOANER AND A DISCOUNT ON THE DIAGNOSTICS FEE, BUT FORD CORPORATE REALLY NEEDS TO GET INVOLVED ON THIS SAFETY CONCERN. I'VE TRIED CALLING THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE, BUT THEY WILL DO NOTHING UNTIL IT CAN BE DIAGNOSED. IF THE DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM, THEN FORD NEEDS TO SEND A PRODUCT SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE TO DIAGNOSE IT THEMSELVES. AS OF TODAY, MY TRUCK HAS DONE THIS 4 TIMES SINCE LEAVING DEWEY, BUT ALWAYS WHEN I AM TOO FAR FROM THEIR STORE TO DROP IT OFF. THE TRUCK WAS BROUGHT FOR SERVICE INITIALLY BECAUSE THE AC BLOWER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. IT WAS TURNING ON AND OFF BY ITSELF. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT THE MOTOR SPEED CONTROL MODULE HAS TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO OPERATE NORMALLY. THE MODULE WAS REPLACED ON 7/13/18. ON 11/20/18, I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK TO SERVICE BECAUSE THE AC BLOWER WASN'T WORKING AGAIN. AND AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATE, THE TECHNICIAN FOUND THE PIGTAIL GOING TO THE MODULE REPLACED BURNED. BOTH OF THE TIMES, THE SERVICE WAS PAID IN ORDER TO GET THE WORK DONE, AND THE REASON BEHIND THIS ISSUE WAS A HIGH RESISTANCE CAUSED THE HARNESS TO GET BURNED.

AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON OVER THE PAST COUPLE YEARS. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK IN TO FORD DEALER SERVICE CENTERS FOR MULTIPLE VISITS AND HAVE SPENT A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME AND MONEY TRYING TO SOLVE. MOST RECENTLY, THE TRUCK WAS AT THE DEALER WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON AND WHILE TROUBLESHOOTING, THE LIGHT TURNED OFF. AS SOON AS THE LIGHT WAS OFF, THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DONE OTHER THAN RETURNING TO THE SERVICE CENTER IF/WHEN THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN FOR A MODERN VEHICLE THAT I HAVE BEEN PRUDENT IN TRYING TO REMEDIATE BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. REGARDING WHAT SPECIFICALLY OCCURS, WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK EITHER THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL BE ON OR OFF. IF THE LIGHT IS ON, IT TYPICALLY REMAINS ON AND DOES NOT SHUT OFF REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG THE TRUCK IS CONTINUOUSLY OPERATED. IF THE LIGHT IS OFF, IT REMAINS OFF AND DOES NOT COME ON REGARDLESS OF HOW LONG THE TRUCK IS CONTINUOUSLY OPERATED. I HAVE NOT YET BEEN ABLE TO DETECT A PATTERN (TIME OF YEAR, WEATHER, AMOUNT OF TIME SINCE IT WAS LAST DRIVEN) WITH WHEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON.

IT EITHER JUST STOPS WORKING CAUSING A ELECTRICAL SHORT AND POSSIBLE FIRE AND ELECTRICAL DAMAGE OR BODILY INJURY IF CONTACTED BY A PERSON, OR MOST COMMONLY IT WILL SHATTER THE REAR WINDOW CAUSING A VISUAL OBSTRUCTION OUT THE REAR WHILE DRIVING. ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THIS DEFECT IS THAT WHEN THE WINDOW DOES SHATTER, IT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO CREATE A HOLE IN THE GLASS WHICH COULD LEAD AGAIN TO A PERSON BEING INJURED WITH THE BROKEN GLASS. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THIS, AND WITHIN 20 MINUTES I HAVE DISCOVERED OVER 200 OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY THE DEALERS NOR THE CUSTOMERS NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURE OF THE ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY OF THESE HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY WARRANTY, BUT IT SEEMS THAT THE FORD DEALERS SAY IT IS A $700 REPAIR BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE REAR WINDOW AND THERE FOR NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF FIXING IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE RISK OF POSSIBLE BODILY INJURY AND DRIVING HAZARD RESTRICTING THE VISION WHILE DRIVING. PLEASE, COULD YOU HELP WITH RESOLVING THIS SERIOUS ISSUE. THANK YOU

THE POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS IN ALL FOUR DOORS HAVE FAILED WITHIN A PERIOD OF TWO MONTHS. WHEN THE ACTUATORS FAILS, THE DOOR WILL NO LONGER LOCK/UNLOCK WITH KEYLESS REMOTE OR BY USING THE INSIDE BUTTON TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. ONLY THE DRIVER DOOR HAS A KEY HOLE, SO WHEN THE OTHER RDOOR ARE NOT WORKING, THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR IS FROM THE INSIDE. OCCASIONALLY WHILE THE DOOR ACTUATORS IS NOT WORKING, THE DOOR IS DIFFICULT TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE AS IF THE LOCK IS DIFFICULT TO UNLOCK. THE ONLY REPAIR TO FIX THE ACTUATORS IS BY REPLACING THE ENTIRE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM. I WORRY THE DOOR WOULD BECOME INOPERABLE AND UNABLE TO OPEN SOMEONE COULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE. ANOTHER CONCERN IS VEHICLE THEFT DUE TO THE DOOR NOT LOOKING AS ASSUMED WHEN PRESSING THE BUTTON.

FORD F-150 2014 HAD AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT CAUSED IT TO GO UP IN FLAMES AS I WAS DRIVING IT DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 60 MILES AN HOUR. I FIRST SMELLED A BURNING ODOR, THEN I LOOKED IN MY REVIEW MIRROR AND SAW SMOKE, THEN I STARTED SEEING FLAMES IN THE BACK PASSENGER CORNER OF MY BACK SEATS. BY THIS TIME THE TRUCK WAS VERY SMOKY BUT I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL ASIDE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. I MADE AN ATTEMPT TO OPEN MY DRIVER'S DOOR, BUT IT WOULDN'T OPEN AND I THEN BROKE THE GLASS TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM INSIDE OUT. AS I EXITED MY VEHICLE AND WALKED AROUND THE BACK OF THE TRUCK I GRABBED A TOWEL OUT THE BED OF THE TRUCK AND GOT ON THE GROUND TO TRY AND STOP THE FLAMES AT THAT TIME I COULD SEE A WIRE BURNING BETWEEN THE BED AND THE PASSENGER CAB OF THE TRUCK AS IT MADE LOUD POPPING NOISES, THEN THE TRUCK JUST BURST INTO FLAMES. I CALLED 911 AND THEY CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT , THEY CAME OUT ON THE SCENE AND PUT THE FIRE OUT.

AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, I DISCOVERED THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO FORD (TSB 15-0137) AND HUNDREDS, POSSIBLY THOUSANDS OF FORD F-150 VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED WITH THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD TO THE VEHICLE, OR COULD CAUSE LOSS OF POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I GOT IN MY TRUCK TO START IT AND IT WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. NO FIRE WHATSOEVER. SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON AND TRAILER PARK LIGHT OR SOMETHING WAS ON. RADIO, WINDOWS, DOORS, LIGHTS, EVERYTHING WORKED. IT JUST DID NOT START AT ALL. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. DEALERSHIP RESET COMPUTER. LIGHT STILL CAME ON. TOOK IT BACK A WEEK LATER, BECAUSE THE SERVICE TRAC CONTROL LIGHT WAS COMING ON AND STAYING ON AGAIN. CAN'T FIND ANY THING WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS A BRAND NEW TRUCK. MY LORD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HORN WAS NOT WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE DIFFERENT TIMES WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE BLUE TOOTH SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
