I need to open a safety case. My 2014 Ford F-150 had recall 24S37 performed. Immediately after the recall, the steering locked, the truck stopped itself while still in Drive, and a blue oil pressure warning light appeared. The vehicle is unsafe and cannot be driven out of my driveway. The dealership is refusing responsibility and wants to charge diagnostics. I need this inspected and towed under recall responsibility.”

Coil packs need constant changing in this vehicle. I’ve owned it almost 8 years and sometimes I would have to change the coil packs more than 1 time a year. Obviously I would change the spark plugs also. But there is always a misfire. A lot with 3 and 5.

When driving the vehicle will drop down into a lower gear such as first gear causing the tires to lock up while going into the lower gear, throwing your body in the truck forward causing whiplash and sending my vehicle into other lanes or oncoming traffic. There's a loyd bang when it happens and the engine vibrates so bad when you accelerate it feels like the engine is gonna fall out. They said there's no recall for my vehicle by Vin number but if you put the model in the search registry then 7 recalls come up. Why is my model excluded from this? This is highly dangerous and can kill me or other people on these roads. Ithappens daily. I had just bought it 2 months ago and it happend the same day I bought it and every day since.

Front Engine cover leaking. I have had this issue twice with the same truck two separate engines. I bought my truck used and it was leaking oil. I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed it as the front engine cover leaking. Then before the dealership could get it in to be repaired it started having problems with the timing components. All the problems were supposedly fixed but then about 5 months later the engine failed due to a camshaft failure and I was told this was due to lack of oil. The truck was not even due for an oil change after the dealership had done the repairs. I saved up and bought a brand new engine purchased April 25, 2025. I had the Ford dealership do the first oil change on the new engine and then it started leaking. I took it back and it was determined that it was leaking from the front engine cover, the same as the old engine which I pointed out to the dealership and they informed me that Ford is aware of the problem but there are not any recalls for this. The new engine is under warranty as it isn't even 6 months old and doesn't even have 5000 miles on it.

After receiving a call from Mullinax Ford in Mobile, AL regarding a recall for our 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor (recall related to unexpected downshifting), I brought the vehicle to my workplace on [XXX], where a technician performed the software update (flash) on-site. Before the update, the vehicle was functioning without issue. That same evening while driving home, I experienced extremely hard downshifting, initially in lower gears, and worsening over time. The truck now violently downshifts, primarily into 4th gear, and sounds as if the transmission is slipping. I drove the truck again the next morning and the symptoms persisted. I contacted Zachary, the original representative at the dealership, who said it may be part of the “relearning” process. My husband drove it a week later after returning from a business trip and he confirmed the issue. It has progressively worsened to the point of being undrivable. We returned the truck to Mullinax Ford for evaluation on 7/29/25, and they claimed the failure was unrelated to the update and that the transmission needed to be replaced, at our expense. The truck unpredictably drops gears at high speeds, creating a sudden jerk that could lead to loss of control. This poses a serious safety risk to both the driver and others on the road. The dealership performed the recall software update and later diagnosed the truck with transmission failure, but is denying responsibility. No other third-party inspections have been done at this time. There were no warning lights or issues prior to the update. The issue started immediately after the recall software was flashed and worsened over the next 24–48 hours. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection. We believe the issue stems directly from the PCM/TCM update applied under recall conditions. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Truck randomly downshifts/ jerks really hard while driving all speeds. On 4/19 I was driving 65mph and truck felt like slamming brakes on, while speedometer pin bounces around, then a wrench showed up on the dash screen, I pulled over turned truck off sat for a few minutes, turned it back on, everything seemed finer and continued driving home, with no more issues. On 4/27 I was coming home from groccery store going about 30-35mph truck dropped down to first gear and then back to 4th gear. My pregnant wife and daughter were in the car when this happened. I've called local Ford dealership, and they ask me to come in for diagnosis, but I know this is a factory recall issue via 24V-444. I'm not sure if the truck is safe to drive, this randomly happens, but seems to be happening more and more frequently past 2 months or so

Fuse 27, a known problem with the 12th generation F150, manufactured from 2009-2014, burned through in my truck melting the fuse block in the process. The fuse block in question is the main fuse block located toward the front of the engine bay near the radiator. This resulted in a no start condition while parked in a parking lot. I was required to purchase Ford’s repair kit for their engineering problem and relocate the fuse to a new spot in the fuse block. If this had happened while driving, I fear my truck could have resulted in an electrical fire with my family inside. Please consider requiring Ford to issue a safety recall for this incredibly dangerous situation.

Warning light is staying on stating the engine is out of time. We have had the vehicle assessed by a licensed mechanic to obtain this information. No issues have been detected other than the light coming on and the mechanic pricing the repairs.

Mar 24, 2025

Ford Motor Company issued a recall for my truck (the transmission could suddenly shift into neutral), stating that they needed to update the PCM, and my local dealership service center said they could send an employee out to fix it remotely. I had not experienced the shifting into neutral prior to the "fix". Less than a week later, as I was driving around 35mph, the speedometer dropped to 0 and the transmission stuck in 3rd gear. I waited until the next stop sign and turned off the engine and started it again and it went back to normal. The next day the same issue occurred. The speedometer would drop to 0 and the transmission would stick in whichever gear it was last in. This time is was 5th gear on a highway. I had to pull over and restart it 3 times before it resumed normal driving. I went back to the dealership and they said the electronic update wouldn't have caused the OSS to malfunction and that it was a coincidence that the exact issue I was having was the same as the cause and reason for the recall. I went to an independent Transmission mechanic to have the OSS replaced and it has now been over a month and the problem has not returned. I don't know if the cause of the OSS malfunctioning was a coincidence or if it was related to a faulty electronic update (like if the Ford mechanic didn't disconnect the battery or overloaded an electric charge when he updated the PCM). The warning sign of a wrench did appear each time the OSS would drop to 0. The check engine light went on the first time but not after that.

Engine light but no issue

Dec 28, 2024

I was instructed to take my truck in for a recall of a sudden downshift issue with the transmissions molded leaf frame. I had told the ford representative that i was experiencing similar symptoms with my vehicle. and some symptoms that were even of even greater risks to me where when coming to a complete stop my vehicle would fail to gain proper speed facing oncoming traffic!! Also i had told the representative that due to those issues i also had the computer re-programmed previously to try to resolve the issue before becoming aware of the recall... i also had purchased an engine and transmission harness from a ford dealer prior to the recall as well, All for which i have not been re-compensated for..after becoming aware of the recall did i understand that the issue lied in the transmissions molded leaf frame which has not been repaired...no actions were taken to remedy my vehicle and i was upset and unsatisfied with the entire process!

Dec 17, 2024

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and hauling a trailer, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted into first gear. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the failure had damaged the engine, and the engine was replaced. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that several months later, the vehicle made abnormal grinding and howling sounds while driving. The vehicle was taken to Ken Garff Ford Ft. Collins (4809 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80525), and it was determined that the abnormal sounds were coming from the rear differential. The dealer replaced the rear ring and pinion gears, as well as the bearings. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and reimbursed the contact for the engine replacement. The contact was advised to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 95,213.

Nov 23, 2024

Reference Tracking # 11622306. I purchased my used F150 with 52,956 miles on 1/3/2020. Shortly after, I would occasionally notice an unusual gear downshift. Upon receiving Ford Recall 24S37 (NHTSA 24V444000) update for the powertrain control module, the check engine lite (CEL) came on. I called the Ford Recall ph#, and they told me to continue to work with the dealership that performed the update. Several times I returned to the dealership, they would reset it with diagnostics, yet repeatedly the P0299 code would return each time. Prior to the CEL coming on, the CEL was preceded by a stall on acceleration on small hill inclines, and worsened fuel mileage, and typically after towing my trailer. These things didn't occur before the update was installed. (Attachments)

Upon purchase of my vehicle, I occasionally would notice an unusual gear downshift. Then, upon receiving a Ford Recall 24S37 and NHTSA Recall 24V444000, regarding the update to the powertrain control module, I now continue to have a check engine light come on each month with the same error code. I've returned each month since the recall to Ford dealers to have the check engine light looked into further since the update, but each month the check engine light continues to return. Downshift to lower gears continues occasionally. 2 different dealers have seen the codes in the history of the vehicles computer when put through the Ford diagnostics. Invoices provided upon request, if needed.

Driving at highway speed, went to accelerate and pass another vehicle on a four-lane highway with my vehicle ending up in the far left lane attempting to pass. Truck lost all power, began to shake violently like it was misfiring, got an illuminated wrench on my dashboard, and at that point began to coast with no power being supplied by the engine. Miraculously I was able to coast across three lanes of highway to the shoulder without being rear ended by traffic moving at 70 mph which would have resulted in a catastrophic accident (endangering myself and my family and others on the road that day). I shut the vehicle off to stop the engine from shaking and misfiring and let it sit about two minutes. I restarted the vehicle, the illuminated wrench went away and the truck idled as normal allowing me to drive another 25 highway miles to my home without incident. Had a mechanic put a diagnostic tool on my truck to see if any error codes were thrown from it which no codes were present. Have taken it to Ford dealership near my home, they have been trying replicate the condition for three days and have been unsuccessful. Their hunch is throttle body assembly needs to be replaced ($675 fix). Quick query of NHTSB reported incidents shows a growing quantifiable history for the Ford F150 3.5L Ecoboost experiencing the exact encounter I had on this day. My family and I along with others on the highway were fortunate the event didn't end up tragically that day. Ford - time to step up and rectify via recall.

I bought this truck 2 and a half years ago and from day one it has been nothing but trouble. I was sold a lemon I have spend God knows how much on this truck and now it sits in the yard with a cracked turbo, electrical issues and transmission problems that I've been told has been a problem along time and I'd have to agree. Within the first 3 months of owning the truck it was in the shop 3 or 4 times. I had all kinds of warranty's added to my loan that I wasn't aware of and I've tried having the issue handled but Ford dealership will not tdo anything about it. I still over over 20,000 dollars on this truck I don't know if you can help but if you can I'd greatly appreciate it. I've had numerous sensors replaced, cv joints replaced, a arms replaced, wheel bearings, catalytic converters, ball joints, brake calipers, brake lines, struts, purge valve, engine mount, fuel pump twice, and I'm sure there's more alot of this was in the first not even year.

Aug 13, 2024

The truck alames into 1st gear while driving sticks in 3rd gear as well as 5th gear no miles are being registered Speedometer not working, not registering accurate speed or mileage engine and transmission stop communicating.

May 22, 2024

The truck is randomly down shifting. It will go from 6th to 3rd or 4tg or 5th, 5th to 3rd or 4th, and I've even had it downshift to 2nd. I found several threads talking about this being an issue and to report because there is a service bulletin about it because of the OSS being in issue and no recall yet.

Two issues. The first issue arose due to a leak in the "y" pipe under the air box. Upon replacing that connector, the throttle body had to be removed to get room to reinstall. Upon reinstallation of the throttle body, the truck falls into limp mode unexpectedly during normal driving, in traffic. Installed ned throttle body from parts store and still throws the p2112 code.

My vehicle shows a wrench on the dashboard and loses power and will not accelerate. We took it to an auto parts store to have a diagnostic test performed and it shows that the OSS ( Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit) fault. In my 2014, this is inside the transmission. After doing research, I found this was recalled in 2009 to 2013 models. Could this be an issue in my 2014?

Sep 15, 2023

My truck stalled and died while entering an intersection. I was nearly broadsided by another vehicle. We both could have been KILLED. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. Ford is well aware issue and has issued a TSB about it to their dealers. It is called a FUSE 27 in the Ford f150’s and it causes IMMEDIATE LOSS of power and potentially control. The power steering and brakes are effected. Someone is or more likely has been killed because of this. Please do your job. Events like this that are KNOWN by the manufacture should be IMMEDIATELY addressed.

Sep 4, 2023

Spontaneous downshifting of transmission to first gear has occurred more than once resulting in sudden change in speed, tires screeching, and unsafe driving or difficulty controlling automobile. Fortunately no one was behind me as I would likely have been rear ended. Each time this has happened the motor has been subjected to heavy strain.

vehicle had 65,732 when the timing chain and both turbo chargers seized costing $8,770.46. Complaining because we feel ford is at fault for this failure. engine has hardly any miles. Other Ford vehicles with many more miles had this recall but ford says mine was not covered. then under 2,000 miles later the power steering went costing $3,130.96 which was also another recall on other ford vehicles same model, same year but Ford says not mine.

This has happened twice now. Driving to work accelerating after a red light and the truck losses all power, but stays running. To get it to operate normal you have to pull over shift into park, turn the truck off and wait a couple of moments. The truck will retire and drive like nothing happened. Trick has 78k miles and always maintained at local ford dealer

Apr 2, 2023

While driving my truck several times now it shuts off in the middle of driving it without any warning. Many lights come on oil, wrench, check 4x4, limp mode, says remove item on passenger seat. Nothing on seat. Sometimes the truck starts back up other times it does not for approximately 15 minutes. Was almost rear ended by another vehicle one time. I have complained to Ford Motor company and unfortunately got no where with my complaint. I have read many complaints on the internet about the same problem and seems like it is only a ford truck problem. Widespread in the years I have seen complaints from 2006-2020 with the same problem. Something needs to be done before someone is hurt or even killed.

Jan 22, 2023 Fire

Vehicle got stuck in the snow. Tried getting vehicle out and almost had it free when I noticed the temperature gauge rising. I then shut the vehicle down and was calling for help for 10 minutes then noticed a flame come out of the engine bay. Yelled for my family to get out. Me and my wife rushed to get our kids out of the vehicle and down the road. The cab and engine bay are gone. I don’t know what caused the fire but it needs to be figured out my family was endangered.

Jan 18, 2023

I was travelling down the highway at near 60 mph and without warning the truck shuttered and shifted to first gear. This nearly started and chain reaction crash with myself and 3 other vehicles as I was nearly rear ended, I also could've easily lost control. Had I been towing my travel trailer at the time this would have caused a major accident without question. 2 codes were thrown at this time P0720 and P0722, this comes back to a Lead Frame issue with the transmission. I took the truck to my local dealer and they stated they couldn't get the issue to happen again and that there was nothing wrong as they could tell because the codes do not store. The only symptom prior to was all the went blank just before the truck shuttered and went to first gear.

My transmission had been acting funny earlier in the day. Like not changing gears correctly. Later in the day, driving home from work, it started bucking and and the instrument cluster started going crazy. It started accelerating and I had to hit the brakes. It never threw any codes. A couple days later driving I had no power, and instrument cluster went crazy again. I seen a wrench and finally threw a code. I keep a code reader in my truck, it threw po720. It started driving fine after I turned it off and back on. I went home and read about the Ford F150 lead frame recall and my truck was made at the same plant. However Ford says, I am not covered. I do not understand how they can cover trucks a couple months before mine.

Timing cover seal is leaking oil onto exhaust pipe causing the engine to smoke.

Oct 17, 2022

Hello - My 2014 F150 experiencing this issue, but FORD says my VIN is not on the recall list. Truck pulled brake fluid into the engine from faulty brake booster / master, lost all brakes, lots of smoke, brake fluid reservoir empty. Brake Master Cylinder May Leak into Booster NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V332 A loss of brake fluid may result in a change in brake pedal travel and feel, increased pedal effort and reduced front brake function, possibly requiring greater effort and distance to stop the vehicle. These conditions can increase the risk of a crash.

Engine underpowered/turbo under boost: had this issue numerous times with the original engine (which failed at just over 85k miles). I've put less than 5k on the current replacement engine and it's happening again. This is especially concerning when merging into interstate traffic. Second issue: backup camera starting malfunctioning intermittently shortly after purchasing. It displays an error message 90% of the time. When it does display the image is backwards.

The studs for the exhaust manifolds rusted away and the exhaust is now leaking into the passenger compartment and bypassing all emissions systems. This is a common problem with Ford F150s. Ford has since changed the alloy used in the studs to prevent this from happening.

Submitting another complaint about this issue. 2014 F-150 SuperCrew 3.5L TT with 6 speed transmission. Was driving with my whole family in the car yesterday, 03/06/22. Truck started hesitating again, RPMs went crazy, MPH gauge freaked out. I shifted into neutral before the truck would go into a skid like it did the other day. Put the truck back into drive and it was fine. Turned around and took our other vehicle. This thing is a death trap. Recall the 2014 model year now. I've found several others online with 2014 model year with the same issue.

Mar 5, 2022

I was driving today, around 60 MPH, with my parents in the truck. All of a sudden my truck slammed into a lower gear, skidded the tires, and everyone was thrown forward in the vehicle. I almost lost control. I know there is a recall for the 2011-2013 Ford F-150 for this, but NOT the 2014 model year (mine). This is the second time it's happened where it's skidded the tires, and it's happened at least half a dozen other times where it hasn't skidded. This WILL cause an accident in time and this IS an issue with other 2014s that I've read about online. Today I was lucky there was nobody behind me or it would have caused a rear-end collision. This needs resolved NOW. I have a wife and three kids that also ride in this vehicle, it's our main family vehicle.

Engine exhaust manifold warps and the manifold heads break off in the block

Jun 2, 2021

Exhaust manifolds are warping causing a severe exhaust leak at around 45K miles. Vehicle sounds like a bird chirping or wild animal screaming when accelerating. This repair is quite costly and requires several parts and labor hours. No vehicle with this low miles should require such a costly repair so early. Ford needs to make it right with all owners of these vehicle's by recalling and fixing the issue with the engine exhaust manifolds warping. I was quoted $1,700 per manifold x2 to get the leaks fixed and my truck safely running down the road again without making embarrassing noises. Anyone who has had to make this repair should be fully reimbursed for the parts and labor by Ford. When they make the repair they replace the failed parts with the exact same parts the truck come with so until they are forced to come up with a solution all us unfortunate 3.5L ecoboost owners will be replacing these costly exhaust manifolds. Thank you for your time. Nathan

FORD HAS OBVIOUSLY MACHINED MANIFOLDS FOR THE F-150 THAT ARE LESS THAN RELIABLE AND LACK IN QUALITY. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ARE NOT HARDENED TO ENDURE ENGINE HEAT AND END UP WARPING. THIS CAUSES EXHAUST BOLTS TO BREAK, EXHAUST GASKETS TO BE DESTROYED AND IN TURN CAUSES LOUD NOISES AND POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR ON THEIR F-150 TRUCKS. FORD OBVIOUSLY KNOWS THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM ON THEIR HANDS AS THEY ARE CURRENTLY DEALING WITH 1,700+ VEHICLES THAT ARE SITTING IN SERVICE SHOPS ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR THIS VERY REASON. I CALLED FORD TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE MATERIALS JUST AREN'T HOLDING UP TO DRIVING CONDITIONS. FORD IS WORKING REDESIGNING THE MANIFOLDS AND RELEASING THEM FOR PURCHASE. HOWEVER, IT YOU HAVE AN ISSUE THIS LARGE AND HAVE ADMITTED THAT IT IS DUE TO YOUR OWN FAILURE TO PRODUCE A PRODUCT/PART THAT WILL ENDURE NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY FORD. PERSONALLY, I DON'T DRIVE THIS TRUCK VERY OFTEN. IT IS STORED INSIDE AND TAKEN CARE OF TO THE EXTREME. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED IN A GARAGE FOR A FEW DAYS TO A WEEK (APPROXIMATELY) AND WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK I HEARD A LOUD "CLICKING" NOISE. I TOOK IT OUT FOR A DRIVE TO SEE IF I COULD LOCATE THE NOISE. AT FIRST IS WAS JUST A FAST CLICKING NOISE ON ACCELERATION. THIS BECAME A LOUD CLICKING MIXED WITH A WHISTLING NOISE. THINKING IT WAS A BEARING IN ONE OF THE TURBOS, I TOOK IT IN FOR INSPECTION AND THEY FOUND THE BROKEN EXHAUST STUD AND DAMAGED EXHAUST GASKET. WHILE WORKING ON FIXING THE ISSUES, THEY FOUND THAT ALL OF THIS RESULTED FROM THE DEFORMED MANIFOLD.

1) DUE TO A POOR DESIGN, MYSELF AND MULTIPLE OTHERS USERS HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH FAULTY / POORLY DESIGNED COOLANT HOSES. THESE HOSES WOULD RANDOMLY DISCONNECT OR SPILL COOLANT. CURRENTLY, MY TRUCK IS LEAKING COOLANT AND EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE HOSE, IT IS STILL OCCURRING. SEE BELOW LINK TO THREAD: - HTTPS://WWW.F150FORUM.COM/F70/2011-5-0L-COOLANT-LEAK-252081/ 2) IT IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR THE BACK WINDOW TO RANDOMLY BLOW OUT DUE TO ISSUE WITH DESIGN THE HEATED WINDOWS. AFTER DIAGNOSIS BY FORD DEALERSHIP THAT TIMING CHAIN ON THE ECOBOOST ENGINE WITH ONLY ABOUT 75,000 MILES ON IT REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. ABOUT 5 DAYS AFTER TIMING CHAIN REPLACEMENT THE HESITATION RETURNED AND UPON DIAGNOSIS BY FORD DEALERSHIP IT WAS DETERMINED THE PHASERS WERE BAD. DESPITE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND REPORTS OF THIS OCCURRING IN 2011-2015 FORD F 150 ECOBOOST MODELS IN AMERICA AND CANADA FORD REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE IS A DEFECT. WHILE MAYBE NOT DIRECTLY A SAFETY ISSUE I BELIEVE IT IS AS ONE OF THE FAILURES OCCURRED ON THE INTERSTAE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHILE PASSING A SEMI TRUCK AND POWER WAS LOST AND EVASIVE ACTION HAD TO BE TAKEN TO AVOID A COLLISION DUE TO THE TIMING CHAIN POWER FAILURE. CAN'T ARGUE WITH WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, IF THAT ISNT A SAFETY CONCERN FOR FORD OR THE NHTSA I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. DEFECTIVE SYSTEM FOR 2011-2015 FORD F150 ECOBOOSTS

DEALER SAYS THIS IS NEW TO THEM.THE DEALER SAID THEY FOUND TRACKS ON THE SPARK PLUGS AND CHANGED THEM, NEW PLUG WIRES WERE SUPPOSEDLY BAD, REPLACED BOTH TURBOS. STILL NO DIFFERENCE.I HAVE A VIDEO OF THIS HAPPENING WITH THE ENG CHECK LIGHT COMING ON AND AFTER THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF THIS IN OBD2 MEMORY.

TWO TIMES WHEN ON AN EXPRESSWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DURING A RAIN STORM I HAVE HAD MY ENGINE LOSE POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. BOTH TIMES AFTER SLOWING DOWN THE ENGINE REGAIN POWER AND I COULD CONTINUE MY JOURNEY. I HAVE THE 3.5 TURBO ENGINE AND NOTICED ONLINE THAT THIS COMPLAINT HAS BEEN MENTIONED BY OTHERS. I DID BRING UP MY CONCERNS TO MY FORD DEALER AND THEY CLAIM TO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY SIMILAR COMPLAINT WITH THIS ENGINE. ANY INFORMATION OR HELP I CAN RECEIVE FROM YOU WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

THIS HAS TRUCK HAS A SHUDDER OR VIBRATION FROM STARTING OUT FROM 1 TO 10 MILES AN HOUR AND ADDITIONALLY WHEN PASSING AND DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE IS ALSO AN ACCELERATION DELAY AT ALL SPEEDS. THIS TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH THE 3.5L ECO BOOST ENGINE. THESE ISSUES ARE ESPECIALLY MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN THERE IS A LOAD ON THE TRUCK SUCH AS A TOPPER AND LUGGAGE, ETC.

AS I WAS PASSING A TRUCK THE ENGINE CUT OUT, LOST POWER THE TACH DROPPED FROM 4000 RPM TO BELOW 1000 AND THE ENGINE SHUDDERED VIOLENTLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AND THE DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME EVERYTHING IS WORKING CORRECTLY. THIS TIME I TOOK VIDEO OF THE INSTRUMENTS TO PROVE IT. THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT FLASHED ALL THE TIME THIS WAS HAPPENING AND THEN WENT OUT WHEN THE ENGINE BEGAN OPERATING PROPERLY.THIS STARTS AFTER YOU TRY TO PASS A VEHICLE AND IT PUTS YOU IN A DANGEROUS POSITION OF BEING IN THE PASSING AREA AND HAVE NO POWER TO GET BY, THIS COULD LEAD TO A MAJOR PROBLEM. I AM A CERTIFIED ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR AND HAVE BEEN A POLICE OFFICER FOR 45 YEARS. I AM ALSO A MASTER MECHANIC, THIS HAS TO BE CORRECTED BY FORD SOON.

AS I ACCELERATE, THE TRUCK SEEMS TO GOING INTO NEUTRAL FOR ABOUT THREE SECONDS. THEN IT REENGAGES AND JERKS VIOLENTLY. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE. THE FIRST TIME, THEY REPROGRAMMED IT BUT DIDN'T REPAIR THE ISSUE. THIS LAST TIME, THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME TO PICK UP M TRUCK BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T RECREATE THE ISSUE I WAS EXPERIENCING. ANOTHER TECHNICIAN STATED IT WAS THE ECO-BOOST BUT THAT FORD WAS SIDE STEPPING THE ISSUE BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIND HOW TO FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE LAST TIME THIS OCCURRED, I WAS CHANGING LANES ON INTERSTATE 10 AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *TR

3.5 ECO BOOST ENGINE HAS A DEAD SPOT IN IT. MASH ON THE GAS PEDAL AND DOESN'T DO ANYTHING, THEN SPRINTS OFF. IT HAS DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES. ALSO THERE IS A SMALL ROAR AT TIMES COMING FROM LEFT SIDE OF ENGINE WHEN ACCELERATING. THE SPRINTING WILL OCCUR OTHER TIMES WHEN ACCELERATING. HAVEN'T TAKEN IT BACK TO DEALER BUT I'M GOING TO. *TR

ONCE MORE THIS TRUCK HAS LUNGED WITHOUT NOTICE!! WITH THE TRUCK IN MY GARAGE I PUSHED THE BUTTON (INSIDE THE TRUCK) TO OPEN THE GARAGE DOOR, STARTED THE TRUCK AND AS SOON AS I PUT IN IN REVERSE IT LUNGED BACKWARDS JUST CATCHING/HITTING THE BOTTOM OF THE GARAGE DOOR AS IT WAS GOING UP, SOME SCUFFS ON THE TRUCKS TAILGATE TRIM AND IT BENT THE LOWER GARAGE DOOR PANEL AND KNOCKED IT OFF THE TRACK. FORD HAS DONE SQUAT TO FIX THIS ISSUE ALONG WITH OTHER MAJOR ISSUES THIS TRUCK HAS FROM DAY ONE!! NHTSA PLEASE LOOK INTO THESE ISSUES!!

THE VEHICLE STARTING SHUDDERING, AND STALLED AS I PULLED ALONG SIDE THE FIRST VEHICLE. I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND ATTEMPTED IT AGAIN, STILL NOTHING. WITH LOSS OF POWER, I HAD TO MOVE TOWARDS THE SHOULDER SINCE OVER TAKING THE VEHICLE WAS IMPOSSIBLE. THE LASTED FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS, DURING WHICH THE CHECK ENGINE WAS FLASHING. APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS PRIOR, IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING TO DALLAS, BUT NOT TO THIS EXTENT. WEATHER CONDITION FOR BOTH INCIDENT WAS HEAVY RAIN, AND I HAD BEEN DRIVING IN RAIN FOR SEVERAL HOURS. WHILE GOING UP A STEEP INCLINE, I WENT OFF OF THE GAS TO SLOW DOWN AS I WAS APPROACHING A CORNER. WHEN I GOT TO THE CORNER, I ATTEMPTED TO TURN AND REALIZED I DIDN'T HAVE ANY POWER STEERING. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE GAUGES, LOW OIL PRESSURE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE ENGINE WAS NO LONGER RUNNING. THE TRUCK DID RESTART AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY. FORD IS STATING THAT SINCE THERE WEREN'T ANY CODES, THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
