Ford F150 1FTEW1CPXFFC58647, caught fire while parked and unoccupied. PRINCETON, TX Fire Dept was not able to identify cause and origin of ignition / fire. Vehicle is available for inspection. Vehicle caught firer while we where asleep. Vehicle was looked at by fire dept and origin of fire was undetermined.
Track of rear cabin sliding door came unglued and popped off track while driving down highway in rain. Water entered vehicle. Looked online and found numerous complaints for 2015-2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while an independent mechanic was servicing the vehicle, the mechanic informed the contact that the frame was severely rusted, and the contact then noticed the failure. The mechanic informed the contact that water had intruded into the frame and had become stagnant at the lower point of the frame, causing the severe rust. The vehicle was taken to several auto body repair shops, where the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be repaired, and the failure could be related to a recall. The contact stated that CT Frameworks was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for the frame repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the rear window. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear window assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

Panoramic roof leaks water which can cause water to drain into vehicle. Causing mold to accumulate (black mold) which is hazardous to a person’s health.
The doors won't latch properly in subfreezing temperature causing the door to pop loose during driving. They haven't opened completely yet but they could.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH a loud wind noise was suddenly present inside the vehicle. Upon inspection it was discovered that the front driver side door had come unsecured and was not completely closed. The local dealer was contacted and informed that the failure was due to a front driver side door actuator malfunction. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was also contacted but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated that the manufacturer extended warranty coverage addressing the issue had expired. The mounting bracket on the frame for the lower control arm on the front passenger side of the vehicle cracked and broke away from the frame thus leaving the control arm unattached to the vehicle which caused the tire/wheel to be uncontrollable. At highway speeds, the vehicle would roll.

Despite several recalls dealing the the doors freezing open due to water intrusion in the door latch cables, my left rear door froze open (again) last year the right rear door froze open. At both times the door had to be secured with a ratchet strap to take for repairs. Ford is unwilling this time to repair this defect at no cost. I can't be the only person with this safety issue. It gets cold in Montana, I shudder to think what would happen if a passenger fell out because the door won't latch or suddenly opened in the winter.
Rear power windshield shattered while it was parked in the sun. We were on a hike and came back and the window was shattered. Temp was approximately 85 degrees. Rear bed cover was on and metal button was touching the window. Not sure what caused it to shatter

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CARPET BECAME MOLDY DUE TO THE LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REINEKE FORD LINCOLN, INC. (12000 COUNTY RD 99, FINDLAY, OH 45840) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WELDS BEHIND THE WINDSHIELD NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.

AS IT RAIN OR DURING VEHICLE WASHINGS, NOTICE THAT WATER WAS LEAKING FROM THE A-FRAME TRIM ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ALSO FOUND THAT WATER WAS COLLECTING INSIDE OF THE DRIVERSIDE REAR DOOR BETWEEN THE SHEET METAL. UNSURE OF HOW THE WATER MANAGE TO GET INSIDE AND COLLECT BETWEEN THE SHEET METAL. I REMOVED THE DOOR GASKET AND THE WATER DRAINED FROM THE BOTTOM HOLES THAT HOLDS THE DOOR GASKET ANCHORS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. COLLECTED CLOSE TO A HALF GALLON OF RAIN WATER. AS I WAS DRIVING I COULD HEAR THE WATER MOVING AROUND IN THE DOOR PANEL AND ORIGINALLY ASSUMED THAT IT WAS THE GAS IN THE GAS TANK, HOWEVER, AFTER I OPENED THE REAR DRIVERSIDE DOOR, I HEARD THE WATER MOVING AROUND INSIDE THE DOOR PANEL. WATER COLLECTS WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.

THE "MOON ROOF" ON THE TRUCK WHEN I WENT TO OPEN IT BECAME "JAMMED" AND WOULD NOT GO BACK TO CLOSED POSITION NOR WOULD IT OPEN THEREFORE IT WAS (THE PASSENGER SIDE) NOT AN AIR/WATER TIGHT SEAL. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR A $2300 REPAIR. THE REPAIR, TO THIS DAY IS STILL NOT 100% CORRECT. IN LOOKING ON LINE MINE IS NOT THE ONLY TRUCK THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WITH THE MECHANICS OF IT AS I HAVE OPEN AND CLOSED THE MOON ROOF, AT THE MAXIMUM OF, 12 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED IN 2016, SOMETHING IS JUST NOT RIGHT WITH THAT FEATURE TO BE USED SO SELDOM AND WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN THE COST BEING SO EXTREME.

ONCE IN THE GARAGE, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE PAINT ON THE TAILGATE AFTER OPENING THE GARAGE DOOR AND ONCE ON THE FRONT OF A CAR PARKED BEHIND THE TRUCK. FORTUNATELY I DIDN'T HAVE CARGO IN THE BACK.

WHILE DRIVING OUR 2015 FORD F-150 LARIAT SUPERCREW ON A TRIP FROM OHIO TO FLORIDA ON INTERSTATE I-77 WE WERE TOWING A 14 FOOT ENCLOSED TRAILER. MY WIFE AND I STOPPED FOR THE NIGHT AFTER APPROXIMATELY 550 MILES AND I MADE SURE THE TRUCK WAS SECURE. IN THE MORNING I WALKED AROUND THE TRAILER AND THE TRUCK TO BE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OKAY AND IT WAS BEFORE CONTINUING OUR DRIVE. WE WERE JUST NORTH OF CHARLOTTE, NC AND THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF NEW ROAD CONSTRUCTION AS WE CONTINUED SOUTH WITH ROUGH BUMPY AREAS, CHANGING ROAD LANES AND JUST A LOT OF TWISTING SECTIONS. AFTER 2 HOURS AND SOUTH OF CHARLOTTE WE STOPPED FOR FUEL. I THEN SAW THAT THE TAILGATE WAS DOWN. I WAS SHOCKED AS I LOOKED AND WAS GLAD WE HAD NOT LOST ANY ITEMS ON THE ROAD, WE COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE. THE TAILGATE RECEIVED DAMAGE BECAUSE AS THE TWISTING AND REQUIRED LANE CHANGES HAPPENED THE TRAILERS FRONT TONGUE WHEEL SUPPORT POST WAS JAMMING AGAINST THE DROPPED TAILGATE. WE FEEL SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE NOT LOST THE HEAVY ITEMS IN THE TRUCK THAT COULD HAVE MADE US RESPONSIBLE FOR A SEVER ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER IN MOUNT DORA, FL AND WAS TOLD THE RECALL CURRENTLY IS FOR JUST THE F-250 & F-350 MODELS WITH THE POWER TAILGATE. THEY "RAN" MY VIN NUMBER AND TOLD ME THIS TRUCK IS NOT IN THE SAME RECALL. EVEN THOUGH THE F-150 "LARIAT" UPGRADE MODEL HAS THE SAME POWER TAILGATE AS THE TWO IN THE RECALL. PLEASE HELP AND REQUIRE THE JUSTIFIED RECALL TO BE SPECIFIC TO NOT JUST THE VEHICLE VIN OR MODEL NUMBERS BUT TO ALL THOSE WITH THIS TYPE OF FUNCTIONING POWER TAILGATE. I HAVE CALLED FORDS'S CONSUMER (866) HELP CENTER AND THEY ARE NOT ADMITTING REPLACEMENT FOR MY DAMAGED TAILGATE EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER BODY SHOP MANAGER HAD ME PRESENT TO SEE AS THEY TOOK THE TAILGATE APART. WE FOUND INSIDE ONE BROKEN PART FOR THE MECHANICAL LATCH CONTROLLER THAT SECURES THE LOCKING OF THE TAILGATE.

IT HAS FALLEN WHILE TRUCK WAS IN REVERSE, AND WHILE TRUCK WAS TRAVELING ON COUNTRY ROADS AT SPEEDS OF ~40MPH. PLEASE NOTE - THIS ISSUE SEEMS IDENTICAL TO THE ONE FORD JUST ANNOUNCED A RECALL FOR ON THE 2017-2019 F-250 SUPERDUTY TRUCKS. IT MUST BE RELATED. OUR TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP JUST LAST WEEK BEFORE THIS RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. THIS TRUCK SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL THE TAILGATE MOST RECENTLY FELL 11/28/19

TRUCK HIT A UTILITY POLE IN THE MEDIAN WHILE TRAVELING WEST ON BARBARA JORDAN BLVD AT LANCASTER DR. IT SPUN AROUND, AND LANDED ON THE EAST BOUND SIDE OF BARBARA JORDAN BLVD AT LANCASTER DR. THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED.
VISTA ROOF HANGS UP WHEN TRYING TO OPEN AND CLOSE. DIAGNOSIS WAS TO REPLACE BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SLIDING GLASS BRACKETS AND REINITIALIZE SUNROOF MOTORS AND RETEST SLIDING GLASS OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE BINDING OCCURRED. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM OCCUR AT 52,622 MILES ON 10/31/2019. MY ROOF IS BOUND UP JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE AT THE TIME.

DESIGN FLAW IN VISTA SUNROOF ON SUPERCREW TRUCKS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO LEAK. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT BUT REQUIRES A $1200-$1500 REPAIR FEE. IN ADDITION, KNOWN FLAW IN LUG NUTS EXPANDING TO POINT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO REMOVE WHEELS. COAT TO REPLACE ANOTHER KNOWN DEFECT IS $14 PER LUG NUT.MAJOR ISSUES SHOULD BE COVERED WHEN RELATED TO LOCKED WHEELS AND WATER LEAKAGE INTO PASSENGER COMPARTMENT DURING OPERATION.
THE REAR PASSENGER POWER DOOR LOCK INTERMITTENTLY FAILS TO UNLOCK THE DOOR AND IT WILL NOT WORK MANUALLY. THIS POSES A SAFETY HAZARD IF SOMEONE NEEDED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. THE NHTSA 17V-652 RECALL HAS BEEN PERFORMED ALTHOUGH THE LATCH WAS NOT REPLACED WHICH IS RELATED TO THIS ISSUE AS WELL.

I BOUGHT MY 2015 FORD F150 SUPER CAB TRUCK USED IN JULY 2015. SINCE DECEMBER 2018 THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR'S (FRONT & BACK) WILL NOT OPEN WHEN ICE OR WATER IS PRESENT BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES. IF AND WHEN I CAN GET THEM OPEN THEY WILL NOT LATCH BACK. SO FAR THIS WINTER THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN DECEMBER 2018 WHILE VISITING AT A HOSPITAL IN MUNCIE, INDIANA. AFTER VISITING FOR SEVERAL HOURS THE TEMPERATURE HAD DROPPED. I UNLOCKED THE DOORS WITH THE REMOTE AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THEN AFTER I PULLED HARD SEVERAL TIMES IT FINALLY OPENED BUT WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR T WOULD NOT LATCH. THE DOOR OPEN ALARM THEN CONTINUED TO SOUND FOR THE TWO AND ONE HALF DRIVE HOME. IT HAD RAINED EARLIER IN THE DAY BUT THEN WITH TEMPERATURE AT ABOUT 28 DEG., THEY FROZE UP. THE NEXT THREE TIMES THE SAME THING HAPPENED BUT OVER NIGHT, FINDING THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE MORNING. I COULDN'T USE THE TRUCK SAFELY SO IT SAT IN THE DRIVEWAY UNTIL IT THAWED. THE LAST (FIFTH) TIME I RAN THE ENGINE AND HEATER FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR UNTIL I COULD GET IT TO LATCH. HERE IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO LET A VEHICLE RUN WHILE UNATTENDED. I DID GET AN OFFICIAL LOOKING QUESTIONNAIRE IN THE MAIL AND I SENT IT TO ADVANTAGE FORD IN CONNERSVILLE, INDIANA (I THINK). I SHOULD HAVE KEPT A COPY FOR MYSELF. THIS IS NOT ONLY AN INCONVENIENCE BUT VERY UNSAFE.

MY REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. IT WAS FREEZING TEMPS THAT DAY, AND FIGURED IT WAS RELATED TO NHTSA RECALL # 17V652. I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNLOCKED. IT WAS STUCK AT THE BOTTOM HINGE. SO I TOOK IT TO THE MCLARTY FOOD DEALERSHIP IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR. THEY HAD MY TRUCK THERE ALL DAY. SINCE THEY COULDN'T OPEN THE DOOR, THEY SAID IT WASN'T RELATED TO THE RECALL. THEY ALSO TRIED TO SAY IT WAS A RESULT OF A COLLISION. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. I INFORMED THEM THAT MY TRUCK WAS IN A COLLISION OVER A YEAR AND HALF AGO, BUT THE TRUCK WAS COMPLETED FIXED AT THEIR MCLARTY COLLISION CENTER WITH NEW FORD OEM PARTS. I EVEN STATED THAT THE RECALL DESCRIPTION EVEN STATED THAT THE DOOR COULD BECOME UNABLE TO OPEN BECAUSE OF A BENT DOOR LATCH CABLE. THEY STILL REFUSED TO FIX IT UNLESS I PAID THEM $130 DIAGNOSTIC FEE. BECAUSE I STILL HAD A WARRANTY ON THE COLLISION REPAIR WORK, I TOOK IT BACK TO COLLISION COMPANY. THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE DOOR OFF IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES. AS PREDICTED, A DOOR LATCH CABLE WAS MY ISSUE. THE COLLISION PEOPLE EVEN AGREED IT WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL, AND SENT ME A PICTURE OF THE BENT CABLE.

I WAS ON AN INTERSTATE GOING ABOUT 75 MPH. I GOT OFF OF THE INTERSTATE AND RE-CLOSED MY DOOR THINKING I DID NOT SHUT IT HARD ENOUGH. ABOUT 5 MILES DOWN THE INTERSTATE DRIVING ABOUT 75 MPH I WENT OVER AN APPROACH (OR A BUMP) TO A BRIDGE AND THE DOOR DROPPED OUT OF IT'S CLOSED POSITION AND I COULD STICK 4 FINGERS OUT BETWEEN THE DOOR AND DOOR FRAME. I PULL OVER AT A SAFE AREA TO EXAM THE DOOR AND FRAME. I NOTICED THAT THE DOOR BOLTS (TOP AND BOTTOM) THAT HOLD THE DOOR HINGE TO THE DOOR HAD COME LOOSE AND BACKED OUT ABOUT 4 TURNS. I TIGHTENED THEM AND FINISHED MY TRIP. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN SEE WHY THAT HAD HAPPENED.

FORD F150 LARIAT 2015 CREW CAB SINCE IT WAS NEW (FEB 2015) HAS WEEKLY, HAD THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR LOCK STICK MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE DOOR EITHER FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER IN THE EARLY DAYS OF OWNERSHIP FOR WARRANTEE REPAIR BUT THEY NEVER COULD DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY IN FOR A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR A CABLE ISSUE WITH THE DOOR OPENING SYSTEM WHICH COULD FAIL, ALLOWING THE DOOR TO EITHER NOT OPEN OR OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY. THE REPLACEMENT OF THE CABLE DID NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM AND IT CONTINUES UNTIL TODAY. ON MARCH 27TH I TOOK THE DOOR APART TO SEE IF I COULD LOCATE THE PROBLEM. I WAS CONCERNED AND ANXIOUS, THAT IF THE CAR WERE TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, ACCESS THROUGH THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR COULD BE BLOCKED, MAKING MY GRANDSON SUSCEPTIBLE TO POSSIBLE DANGER IF HE WAS IN HIS CAR SEAT. HE LIVES WITH ME AND I TAKE HIM TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY. TODAY THE DOOR JAMMED AT HIS SCHOOL AS IT DOES ON 25% OF THE DAYS I TAKE HIM TO SCHOOL WHICH CAUSES PROBLEMS IN THE SCHOOL UNLOADING ZONE. WHEN I GOT HOME I ONCE AGAIN TRIED TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I FOUND THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOW DESCRIBE IT. THE DOOR LOCK, JAMS IN A LOCKED POSITION IF THE DOOR IS LOCKED AND THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW IS LOWERED MORE THAN 1". FROM THE 1" OPEN TO FULL OPEN POSITION, THE DOOR LOCK WILL NOT DISENGAGE OR PERMIT THE DOOR TO BE OPENED BY EITHER THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES. THIS OCCUR NO MATTER WHAT THE OPERATING STATE THE VEHICLE IS IN. THE ELECTRIC LOCKING SYSTEM WILL NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR AND MANUALLY PULLING ON THE RELEASE BUTTON HAS ONLY RESULTED IN TEARING THE BUTTON FROM THE METAL ROD TO WHICH IT IS ATTACHED (WHICH HAPPENED TODAY). SO, ANY TIME THE WINDOW IS CRACKED OPEN FROM 1" TO FULL OPEN, THE LOCKING SYSTEM FREEZES IN THE LOCKED POSITION MAKING THE DOOR A HAZARD AND USELESS AS AN ENTRY OR EXIT MEANS.

THE DOOR UNLOCKS WHEN MY HAND IS DETECTED ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR HANDLE AND THE KEY FOB IS IN MY POSSESSION. THE FIRST INCIDENCE: I OBSERVED THE LOCK BUTTON POPPED UP AS I GRABBED THE DOOR HANDLE, UPON PULLING THE HANDLE, THE DOOR OPENS. I GOT INTO THE TRUCK, STARTED IT, THEN GOT OUT, BEFORE I ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DOOR. I CLOSED THE DOOR, BUT INSTEAD OF LATCHING, I NOTICED IT BOUNCED OPEN AND RESTED A COUPLE OF INCHES FROM ITS CLOSED POSITION. A SECOND, THIRD, AND FOURTH ATTEMPT TO PUSH THE DOOR CLOSED ENDED WITH THE SAME RESULT. ACTUATING THE INSIDE HANDLE DID NOT CHANGE THE SYMPTOM. ACTUATING THE POWER DOOR LOCK, WHICH CYCLED BACK TO UNLOCK, DUE TO THE ENGINE RUNNING, DID NOT CHANGE THE SYMPTOM. I PRESSED THE POWER LOCK BUTTON AND QUICKLY PULLED THE DOOR HANDLE BEFORE THE UNLOCK CYCLE EXECUTED, THE LOCK BUTTON STAYED DOWN (LOCKED), THEN I CLOSED THE DOOR, THE DOOR LATCHED. I UNLOCKED THE DOOR AND OPENED IT, THEN CLOSED IT, IT LATCHED AND OPERATED NORMALLY. THE SECOND INCIDENT: THE DOOR BOUNCED OPEN, JUST LIKE THE FIRST INCIDENT. THE DOOR LATCH CONTINUED TO MISBEHAVE UNTIL I PRESSED THE MANUAL LOCK BUTTON THEN CLOSED THE DOOR. THE DOOR LATCHED. I PRESSED THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB. I OBSERVED THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON POP UP ONLY SLIGHTLY TO RETURN TO THE LOCKED POSITION. THE OTHER DOORS UNLOCKED. A FEW MORE ATTEMPTS WITH THE KEY FOB DID NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR. I ENTERED THE PASSENGER SIDE AND CLIMBED THE CENTER CONSOLE TO GET IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. I OPERATED THE DOOR HANDLE, WHICH ALSO UNLOCKS A LOCKED DOOR, THE DOOR OPENED, THEN CONTINUED TO OPERATE NORMALLY.

I BOUGHT MY F150 IN THE LATE SUMMER OF 2015. DURING THE WINTER OF 2015 TO 2016 MY F150 WAS GARAGED WITH NO ISSUES. DURING THE WINTER OF 2016 TO 2017 MY F150 WAS NOT IN THE GARAGE AND DURING THE MONTHS OF DECEMBER THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGERS DOORS LOCKS WOULD NOT OPEN AND OR CLOSE. IT WAS MY OPTION THAT A AUTOMATIC STARTER WOULD HELP BECAUSE THE TRUCK WOULD BE ABLE TO HEAT UP AND THE DOORS WOULD OPEN AND CLOSE PROPERLY (HOPEFULLY). FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES, AFTER THE TRUCK WARMS UP THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS WORKED. UNFORTUNATELY THE AUTOMATIC STARTER DID NOT HELP. THE TRUCK WOULD RUN AROUND 25 TO 35 MINUTES BEFORE THE LOCKS WOULD UNLOCK PROPERLY BUT THE LOCKING MECHANISM WOULD NOT LOCK THE DOOR AFTER BEING CLOSED AND OTHER TIMES THE LOCKING MECHANISM DID LOCK THE DOORS WHEN CLOSED. THE LAST STRAW WAS THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM WAS LOCKED AND MY KIDS WERE IN THE BACK SEAT DRIVING DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY TO THE BUS STOP AND AS I STOPPED THE LEFT REAR DOOR OPENED ON ITS OWN. I EXITED THE TRUCK AND TRIED TO RECLOSE THE DOOR BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH CLOSED. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK TO A LOCALE DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM REGARDING THE LOCKING MECHANISM. IT WAS ALSO NOTED THAT DURING OUR CONVERSATIONS THAT I HAVE HAD A FEW TIMES THAT THE WINDOW WASHING FLUID WOULD NOT WORK. IT WAS MENTIONED THAT THERE IS A TSB ISSUED REGARDING THE TWO PROBLEMS HAPPENING IN COLD WEATHER. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY 2015 F150 SINCE JANUARY 16TH 2017 BECAUSE THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. THE PICKUP IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH THE DOORS NOT BEING ABLE TO BE SECURED IN COLD WEATHER. READING INTERNET POSTS ABOUT THE PROBLEM, I SEE THAT PEOPLE ARE DRIVING AROUND HOLDING THEIR DOORS CLOSED AND DOING OTHER DUMB AND UNSAFE THINGS. I TALKED TO MY DEALER IN DECEMBER AND THEN AGAIN IN LATE JANUARY. I WAS TOLD BOTH TIMES THAT THEY AREN'T GETTING THE PARTS FROM FORD UNTIL HOPEFULLY LATE MARCH 2017 TO START FIXING THE PROBLEM. I SPOKE WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD MY ISSUE HAD BEEN NOTED AND THAT I SHOULD CHECK WITH THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT ISN'T GETTING ANY PARTS. SOUNDS LIKE A RUNAROUND. ANYWAY, FORD HAS ISSUED TWO SERVICE BULLETINS TSB 15-0051 AND THEN 1TSB 16-0155. THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT IT. MY INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCE INCLUDES A DRIVERS DOOR THAT WILL ONLY OPEN FROM INSIDE AND DOES NOT SHUT UNLESS I MANUALLY LOCK THE DOOR. ELECTRONIC LOCKS COMPLETELY FAIL. TO PUSH THE LOCK ON TOP OF THE DOOR (IN ORDER TO SECURELY CLOSE) HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT, ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS SEIZED. DRIVING IS A SAFETY CONCERN NOT KNOWING THE STATE OF HOW FUNCTIONAL AND RELIABLE THE DOOR LATCH AND HARDWARE IS. DURING RIGHT HAND TURNS, BUMPS IN THE ROAD, OR WHEN LIGHT PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO THE DRIVER SIDE DOORS, THE VEHICLE RETURNS A "DOOR AJAR" WARNING AS THE DOOR OPEN ITSELF. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS IN THE "SUPERCAB" CONFIGURATION, AS THE REAR DOOR ALSO CONTAINS THE SEAT BELT FOR THE DRIVER. IF THE DOOR WERE TO OPEN FULLY, THIS COULD DISRUPT THE DRIVER'S ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, OR POTENTIALLY THROW THEM OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SYSTEM FAILURE CAN ALSO BE EASILY REPLICATED WHEN STATIONARY. OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND LIGHTLY PULL ON THE REAR DOOR. YOU CAN SEE THE LATCH FAILING TO ENGAGE AS THE DOOR MOVE FREELY AT THE BOTTOM INSTEAD OF STAYING LOCKED SHUT. WHEN IN MOTION, THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT ALL SPEEDS, FROM PARKING LOT MANEUVERS TO HIGHWAY TRAVEL. THE FIRST INSTANCE OF THIS FAILURE OCCURRED AT APPROXIMATELY 17*F. THE DOOR JAMBS AND LATCH ASSEMBLIES WERE CONFIRMED TO BE FREE OF ICE, SNOW, OR ANY OTHER DEBRIS.

I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THAT DAY WHILE THEY WERE STILL FROZEN AND THE DEALER SAID I DID HAVE THE CORRECT WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID IN THEM, BUT THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEM FREEZING, SO THEY SAID THEY DUMPED MORE ALCOHOL IN THE TANK AND SAID TO LET IT THAW OVERNIGHT IN THE GARAGE (THANKFULLY I HAVE A HEATED GARAGE, BUT MANY DON'T SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT THEIR SOLUTION WOULD BE). I ASKED THE DEALER TO PERFORM THE TSB CURRENTLY OUT THAT COVERS THIS VERY SITUATION. THEY SAID THEY PUT MORE ALCOHOL IN THE TANK AND IT SHOULD BE FINE. THE DEALER WAS DAHL FORD LOCATED IN ONALASKA, WI. THIS EVEN BEING A PROBLEM TO BEGIN WITH IS A ALARMING, AND A DEALER NOT WILLING TO FIX SUCH AN IMPORTANT PROBLEM WHEN IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE IS JUST AS MUCH OF AN ALARM! SECONDLY, MY DOOR LATCHES ALSO FREEZE ON THE TRUCK WHEN TEMPS ARE BELOW FREEZING. ALL 4 DOORS OF MY CREW CAB ARE AFFECTED. DEPENDING ON THE DAY, IT VARIES WHICH ONE FREEZES. I HAVE STOPPED USING CAR WASHES AND TRYING TO KEEP MY TRUCK AS DRY AS POSSIBLE TO NO AVAIL. ONCE THESE LATCHES FREEZE, THE DOOR WILL EITHER NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK (DEPENDING ON THE LAST POSITION OF THE SWITCH), OR WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR AND SHUT IT, THE DOOR MECHANISM WILL NOT GRAB AND HOLD THE DOOR SHUT. AFTER REPEATED SLAMMINGS I CAN USUALLY GET IT TO LOCK, BUT THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I PULLED ON BOTTOM OF DOOR AND VERIFIED THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT LATCHED AND IT WOULD MOVE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS AND THERE IS A FORD SSM THAT ONLY DEALERS CAN SEE ON THIS ISSUE (#46260). THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL AS I HAD MY DAUGHTER NEXT TO THIS DOOR. THE RUNNING BOARDS MAKE GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAB SAFE AND EASY, AT LEAST THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT. AFTER 9 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP MY WIFE FELL WHILE GETTING INTO THE TRUCK CAUSING BRUISING AND CONTUSIONS TO HER LEGS. I LOOKED CAREFULLY AT THE RUNNING BOARDS AFTER THAT INCIDENT AND FOUND THAT THE RUBBER LIKE TREADS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE TRACTION WHEN STEPPED ON HAD COME LOOSE AND WERE MOVING ABOUT 1/2" FROM SIDE TO SIDE ON THE CHROME METAL STEP SIDE PLATFORM. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER WHO INSPECTED IT AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE RUNNING BOARD. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THIS SO I MONITORED IT CAREFULLY. NINE (9) MONTHS LATER I FOUND THAT NOT ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE AS COMING LOOSE AGAIN BUT SO WAS THE DRIVER SIDE. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE RUBBER/PLASTIC COMPOSITE THAT THE NON SLIP TREADS ARE MADE OF ARE SIMPLE PUSHED THROUGH HOLES IN THE RUNNING BOARD STEEL PLATE MATERIAL WITH NO PROTECTION ON THE INSERTED NECKS OF THE TREAD FROM BEING EATEN AWAY BY THE EDGES OF THE HOLES IN THE PLATE CAUSING THE NECKS OF THE TREADS TO DETERIORATE QUICKLY DUE TO CHAFING. THIS ENTIRE MATTER AND THE WAY FORD RESPONDED TO MY REQUEST TO COVER THE DEFECTIVE PARTS UNTIL THEY CAN FIND A SAFE AND RELIABLE SOLUTION LEFT ME SAD. MY WIFE SHOULD NOT BE SUBJECTED TO POSSIBLE SERIOUS INJURY FOR WHAT FORD'S REGIONAL MANAGER WOULD LIKE TO CLASSIFY AS A COSMETIC ISSUE. DESIGN OF THE REAR DOORS AND THE LATCHES TRAPS THE REAR SEAT PASSENGER IN THE EVENT OF THE INCAPACITATION OF THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER. THE REAR DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED UNLESS THE FRONT DOOR IS OPENED FIRST. THERE IS NO WAY FOR A REAR SEAT PASSENGER TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE FRONT DOOR IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, AND THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF EGRESS FOR REAR SEAT PASSENGERS. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE DOORS HAVE OPENED, REQUIRING THE PASSENGER AND/OR DRIVER TO PHYSICALLY HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, HOWEVER THEY STATED THAT FORD HAS NOT RELEASED A RELIABLE REMEDY FOR THE PROBLEM. AFRER RESEARCHING ONLINE AND MANY FORUMS, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED ON F150'S MANUFACTURED IN 2015. HOWEVER, WHEN I CALLED FORD MOTOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY ADVISED ACCORDING TO THEIR RECORDS THEY HAVE NO ISSUES FOR MY F150 WHICH WAS MANUFACTURED IN AUGUST 2015. DEALER WANTS THE TRUCK BROUGHT IN AND LEFT WITH THEM , I AM NOT A FAN OF SPRAYING A LUBE ON DOOR LATCH AND CLAIMING IT'S FIXED. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THIS IS AN ISSUE ON MORE 2015 F150'S THAN JUST THE ONES MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO MARCH 2015. NO MATTER THE WEATHER, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE THE WORRY OF YOUR DOOR CLOSING...ESPECIALLY ON A NEW VEHICLE. FORD ADVISED ME THAT THEY WOULD MAKE YOU AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUE AND VOICE MY CONCERNS.

IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN BOTH OF MY REAR DOORS FROM THE INSIDE OR OUT. I HAD TO CRAWL OVER THE SEAT AND MANUAL UNLOCK THE DOOR. I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY YOUNG CHILD SHOULD THE DOORS FAIL AND I NEED TO REMOVE HER IN AN EMERGENCY.

WHILE DRIVING BRAND NEW 2015 F150XLT SUPERCREW WITH 6.5FT BED I WAS FULL STOPPED ABOUT 20FT BEHIND A CAR THAT WAS WAITING FOR ANOTHER CAR TO TURN AS I LOOKED UP IN REAR VIEW MIRROR SAW ANOTHER TRUCK COMING BEHIND ME DOWN HILL AT APPROXIMATLEY 45MPH THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE STATE ROUTE 2 LANE JUST BEFORE ENTERING TOWN. I HEARD HIM LOCK UP HIS BRAKES AND SLAM INTO THE BACK OF MY TRUCK PUSHING ME 15 TO 20FT SLAMMING ME INTO THE SUV IN FRONT OF ME HITTING ME AT DEAD STOP SQUARE ON IN THE BACK DRIVING ME SQUARE ON INTO VEHICLE INFRONT OF ME, NO AIRBAG EVER DEPLOYED I WAS THRUST AGIANST THE STEERING WHEEL IN A SNAPPING ACTION. THE IMPACT WAS SO FORCEFULL IT MOVED THE SUPERCREW BACK SEAT FROM THE DOWN POSITION TO THE FULL UPRIGHT AND LOCKED IN PLACE POSITION AGIANST THE BACK OF THE CAB. THE TRUCK WAS ONLY 6 DAYS OLD WITH 370 MILES ON IT. WITH THAT IMPACT FRONT AND BACK I WOULD THINK AIRBAGS WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT BENT THE FRAME DOWN IN THE BACK AND BENT THE FRAME UP IN THE FRONT SEE THE ATTACHED PICTURES.

DOORS NOT LATCHING AND LOCK S NOT WORKING IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING, THE DOOR LATCHES WILL NOT ENGAGE WHEN YOU CLOSE THE DOOR. ALSO, THE DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT OPERATE. I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE WHILE HOLDING THE DRIVER'S DOOR CLOSED WITH MY HAND UNTIL IT WARMED UP ENOUGH FOR THE DOOR LATCH TO WORK. THERE IS A TSB FOR THIS ISSUE. TSB 15-0052. IT CALLS FOR THE REMOVAL OF ALL 4 DOOR PANELS. INSPECT LATCHES AND CABLES. APPLY GREASE TO ALL COMPONENTS AND THEN REASSEMBLE THE DOOR PANELS. TSB WORK WAS DONE BY MARYSVILLE FORD IN MARYSVILLE, WA ON 12-2-2015. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND KEPT FOR 2 MORE DAYS ON JANUARY 12 2016. SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM IN HEATED SHOP. SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THEY CONTACTED THE FORD SERVICE HOTLINE AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO FIX AT THIS TIME. AT THIS TIME I AM NOT ABLE TO FULLY USE MY VEHICLE IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. CAN NOT LATCH DOOR TO DRIVE VEHICLE AND IF IN AN ACCIDENT THE LOCKS WOULD NOT RELEASE TRAPPING PASSENGERS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND PROVIDE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY.

THIS MORNING THE TEMP. WAS 6 DEGREES OUTSIDE, MY TRUCK WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE I OPENED THE DOOR GOT IN AND STARTED THE VEHICLE. ONCE I TRIED TO CLOSE THE DOOR DRIVER DOOR IT WOULDN'T LATCH CLOSE. I TRIED TO UNLOCK/LOCK IT FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE BUT STILL WOULD LATCH CLOSED. INSTEAD OF GETTING IT TOED TO A DEALER I HAD TO DRIVE WHILE HOLDING MY DOOR CLOSED. ONCE I GOT TO WORK (30 MILE DRIVE) THE DOOR BEGAN TO LATCH AGAIN... THIS PUT ME IN A SAFETY RISK AND IT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THE NEW F150'S FROM READING THE FORUM COMMUNITY. PLEASE HELP GET FORD TO FIX IT. THE DEALER JUST WANTED TO SPRAY LUBE EXTERNALLY ON THE DOOR MECHANISM WHICH DOES NOTHING.

2015 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIRBAG PROBLEMS, IGNITION PROBLEMS AND VEHICLE TIRES ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE A/C BLEW OUT HOT AIR, THE TRANSMISSION WAS JERKY WHEN HE APPLIED THE BRAKE, THEN THE ACCELERATOR. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST STARTED, THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING/GROWLING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE BY THE DRIVER FRONT WHEEL, THERE WAS EXCESSIVE CABIN NOISE, AND TIRE NOISE. THE ELECTRIC ENGINE FAN CAME ON WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE HEAT, THE UNDERCARRIAGE WAS SHOWING SIGNS OF CORROSION. WATER WAS LEAKING THROUGH THE DRIVER ASSIST HANDLE GRIP NEAR THE WINDSHIELD. *JB
DRIVERS SIDE SIDEVIEW MIRROR GLASS IS LOOSE AND WILL SHAKE GOING OVER BUMPS OR DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DURING PARTICULARLY HIGH WIND, BUMPY HIGHWAY TRAVEL, IT CAN BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DISCERN WHAT YOU ARE SEEING IN THE MIRROR, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT AND UNSAFE TO PERFORM LANE CHANGES. THIS HAS BEEN DESCRIBED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY AS AN "UNFAVORABLE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE".

2015 FORD F-150 MANUAL ON PAGE 263 HAS INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPER SETUP OF AN EQUALIZING HITCH FOR TOWING A TRAILER. THE INSTRUCTIONS CALL FOR RETURN OF THE FRONT FENDER HEIGHT 25% OF THE WAY FROM HEIGHT WHEN LOADED WITH TRAILER TO HEIGHT WITH NO TRAILER. THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE HITCH MANUFACTURER WHO RECOMMENDS FRONT FENDER HEIGHT TO 75% OF THE WAY FROM LOADED TO UNLOADED CONDITION. IN THE WORDS OF THE HITCH MANUFACTURER "WHY WOULD YOU PUT ON AN EQUALIZING HITCH AND NOT SET IT UP TO DO WHAT IT'S INTENDED TO DO?". THE RESULT OF THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE FORD MANUAL WOULD BE INADEQUATE EQUALIZATION, AND THEREFORE LOSS OF STEERING WITH A RESULTING POTENTIAL FOR ACCIDENT.
