While driving at normal speeds, the transmission hesitates and pops when shifting into 4th gear. The vehicle slows down unexpectedly before shifting and will suddenly downshift without warning. This causes abrupt deceleration and creates a safety concern, especially at highway speeds. The issue occurs intermittently and without driver input. Even when I’m in normal gears it will downshift and cause me to slow and lose control even when I am not breaking. It occurs at just 35 mph- highway speeds.
I have had 2 instances of my F150 downshifting at highway speeds to 2nd gear while driving. I was not towing a trailer, just driving normally in both cases on my daily commute to work. The first instance was resolved by coming to a stop, shifting to park, and shifting into drive again. The second instance, I released the accelerator completely, shifted the gear selector to neutral and back to drive while coasting and it seemed to correct. Neither have led to loss of control but it is startling and not a great thing for the longevity and safety of my vehicle. I see how it could become a problem. After instance number 1, I thought perhaps it was a fluke. I now have learned that there have been prior model years of this truck transmission that also have had issues and I am more concerned that this get resolved. I now plan to have vehicle looked at by a dealership in the near future. first incident was early September and second incident was Oct. 20, 2025.
gears dropped fast on the highway, rpm's went up because my foot was on gas because I was on the highway, rear end locked up and I skidded going from 60MPH to 30 in a second.
A mechanic confirmed the truck has an issue with the speed sensor. On the daily, the truck will experience shifting issues, gets stuck in 3rd, and will not go past 5th. I have to turn off the vehicle and restart and it resets. I've read this is a known issue, and F150s for model years prior to and after 2015 have been recalled for this same thing. I also believe there are already a significant number of complaints for the 2015 model year for this exact issue. Please issue a recall.
Transmission randomly down shifts and then shifts back up a gear. Then speed control randomly drops and won’t respond
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. In addition, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was requested to pay a diagnostic fee. The contact stated that due to the persistent failure, the contact was fearful of driving the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had occurred four times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was advised to contact the NNHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Today, [XXX] while driving at highway speed this vehicle experienced a unrequested transmission downshift, from 6th to 3rd, causing unexpected rapid vehicle deceleration. I was located in the center lane of an Interstate and travelling at 70 mph when this incident happen which force the traffic behind me to take rapid accident avoidance actions. I did not hear any audible or see any visual warnings that this incident was about to happen. This vehicle will be taken to Starling Ford located at 3000 Cheney Hwy, Titusville, Fl 32780 on June 16, 2025. The transmission jumps gears at any speed, I was researching the topic and saw the NHTSA is probing some F150s for a similar problem. And I was wondering if my vehicle was in the affected line of production.
I noticed in the fall of 2024 that my transmission stared shifting hard between 30-40 mph during acceleration. I had the local Ford dealership check out the issue and they stated I needed a new transmission and included an estimate. I decided to seek information from 2 independent transmission shops and they could not confirm that I needed the transmission replaced at that time. The vehicle has been driving fine and I recently started to notice the hard shift again at 30 mph. Every once in a while, when the hard shift occurs, it seems like I lose power to the drive train and my vehicle slows down to about 15 mph and vehicles need to go around me. It only lasts for a few seconds and then the acceleration will continue to drive normal. I do notice an increase in RPM's from time to time as well while shifting around 30 mph but does not feel like it is slipping. Once through this area of shifting, the vehicle operates normally shifting through other gears. There were no warning lights or other symptoms leading to this issue. I did notice that there was an article posted with a possible transmission issue from this year vehicle that is being investigated concerning sudden down shifting while driving. I was traveling [XXX] near Liverpool, PA at 60mph, the truck flashed a quick code on the dash and then suddenly downshifted from 6th gear to 1st almost spinning the truck as the rear wheels locked up momentarily. It would not upshift past 3rd gear and had to travel 35 miles home like that. I called my local Ford dealer (Parsons) and they said bring the truck in for diagnostic testing, so I did. Meanwhile I searched the internet to see if others had the issue. Turns out they did, BUT my 2015 with the 6R80 was NOT in the recall notice. Ford said it was the lead frame and needed to be replaced. IF it was a known problem, why not inform owners of these trucks. That said, Ford wanted $1500 to fix it, BUT they did not have the part. So I drove the truck (never with my family in it ever again) after I cleared the code with my reader...again traveling [XXX] @ 75mph it downshifted IN TRAFFIC. Luckily I was in the right lane and made a quick move to the shoulder to avoid being run over. In Carlisle, PA there are hundreds of trucking companies and warehouses, so the truck traffic is very heavy. That was it. I searched out the part, paid for it myself and had a Ford mechanic that does work on the side fix the truck. I have been a loyal Ford guy for over 30 years...I reached out to Ford via telephone, chat and even Facebook. All they say is it is NOT under any recall. Hard to swallow that when I am driving a $75K truck THEY built and they will NOT stand behind a $2K fix. Well goodbye Ford, as a business owner for over 25 years. If I make an error I fix it NO MATTER what. I gave Ford the opportunity to stand behind truck and they did...JUST FAR behind it and passed me as I sit on the shoulder of the road. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle independently decelerated while driving next to other vehicles. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where unknown repairs were performed. The vehicle was repaired; however, approximately 7 years after repairs the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the same local dealer where unknown repairs were made. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

[XXX]: check engine light was on and codes P2196 and P2198 were present. The dealer suspected it was the purge valve, causing the problem so they replaced it and reset the codes. 10/10/24: I brought the truck in to have it looked at due to the check engine light being on again. I was told the lead frame needed to be replaced but was on backorder. The bill to diagnose this was 196.80 and I was told I could still drive it. On [XXX], I had to bring my truck in to be inspected because while I was going about 70 mph it all of a sudden downshifted and jerked me forward like it was going to abruptly stop. The check engine light came on and I had to drive pretty slow to avoid a breakdown on the interstate. Very scary to have this happen in interstate traffic It could have easily caused an accident. At this time, It was brought to my attention that the downshifting could also be related to technical bulletin 1495. Since we couldn’t get a real definitive answer on what was going on and the lead frame was on backorder, I decided to try and have the case connector in the bulletin removed and replaced as well as do a transmission tuneup on 10/23/24. This bill cost me $383.77. All codes were cleared and all appeared to be working correctly. On [XXX], I was driving on the interstate at about 70 mph and my truck seized up again and jerked forward, again scaring me and potentially causing an accident. I drove it very slowly directly to a repair shop. It was there until November 7, 2024 after the lead frame was replaced. That bill cost me $1321.68. I decided to file this complaint after I had seen a news article that this downshifting was being investigated for the same year as my 2015 Ford F150 for a safety issue. It's the same issue as Recall Notice 22S02/NHTSA Recall 22v011. The replacement part is MR3Z-7583-A 1X ($2-$5 part with 30 second install), but they do not show it under parts for my truck, they would prefer to sell me the whole brake pedal assembly ($50+ part and labor probably diagnosis charge in addition to part replacement). The part becomes brittle and breaks. This caused dead battery, 5 hours from home, due to lights staying on, allowed me to start and put truck into gear without touching the brake, lost acceleration between 45 & 50 mph, cruise control would not turn on and message presents that hill assist is not available.
I was driving at 65 mph when my 2015 F150 shifted into 1st gear. I started skidding sideways and almost flipped but was able to run through the gears quickly and got it into Neutral. This has happened a few other times since the initial incident. I constantly receive codes related to lead frame assembly issue: P0720, P0721, P0722, P161B, etc. I am in desperate need of a new lead frame assembly so my vehicle does not crash on the highway. The Lead Frame in my truck went bad. I was driving on the highway doing 70mph, the truck downshifted to 5th and I lost control of what gear I was in. When I came to a stop the truck was still in 5th gear and it died. I was unable to restart the truck and had to get it towed.
i was driving on the highway at 50MPH in 5th gear. the truck goes in neutral on its own and then 1st gear for about two seconds and then back to 5th gear. the ground was wet and the rear tires skid. i believe that's what prevented the tires locking up and getting out of control it was a very scary situation that could have ended very bad.

6/25/24 I PUT MY 2015 F150 IN REVERSE AND GAVE IT JUST A LITTLE ACCELERATION AND IT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATED FAST CROSSING THE STREET AND HITTING A UTILITY POLE TOTALING MY TRUCK. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON A FORD FORUM AN SAW WHERE OTHE PEOPLE HAD HAD RAPID UNEXPLAINED ACCERATION.ONE PERSON SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF A FAULTY ACCELERATO PEDAL POSITON ALSO KNOWN AS APP. MY SAFETY AND ANYONE WALKING OR DRIVING BY MY HOUSE WERE GREATLY PUT AT RISK. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN REPRODUCED OR CONFIRMED BY ANYONE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LAMPS OR MESSAGES. THIS NIGHTMARE CAME OUT OF NOWHERE.
I am driving back to Florida on [XXX] and my engine light comes on and the wrench symbol on my dash, as I am going about 70 mph and accelerate suddenly my truck going from gear/speed 6 down to 5. I take my foot off the accelerate and it goes back to speed /gear 6. If i stay at one speed and do not accelerate its ok, the minute I accelerate it changes speed. I took it into the Ford Dealer in Daytona Beach, and they are fixing the problem, but I don't have all the details. I am wondering if this is related to your recall to the 2014 F-150 where the problem is exactly like mine. I have not gotten the truck back, only that it is costing around $2400. The 2015 F150 shifted itself from drive at 60mph to 1st gear. I as leading traffic when this occurred. The rest of traffic went around me as, I went to shoulder of rd. The F150 shuttered and was unable to be steered safely off the road. Warning lights flashed but as a driver I was unable to watch as traffic behind me was more important then watching F150. As a Simi was also close to me. This was a very scary event! As my husband was with me and is [XXX] he doesn't drive. Smoke came from under the vehicle. I see this is a common accurate with the F series of 2014. I would suggest checking the 2015. We have since had it fixed and it now drives better. I noticed a marked difference, from when I purchased it a few mos. Earlier. Seriously it could have been a wreck. Strong driving instinct is what saved us this time. In 2022, while behind the wheel of my 2015 F150, I would be driving down the highway (70+ mph) and the transmission would suddenly downshift to 1st gear, then jump to 3rd, and then back down to first gear, all over the place. This happened on several occasions. It was erratic, I experienced sudden changes in speed, sudden and frightening revving of the engine (especially on the highway) and on several occasions I had to make sudden changes to my driving to ensure my safety as well as the safety of others on the road. After I was able to pull over and turn my truck off, the truck would either not turn back on or take a while to be able to turn on. I had no warning that the transmission was about to shift gears and only noticed a check engine light after the incident had occurred. After taking my truck to a transmission shop and they did not find an issue with the transmission (it worked correctly while they test drove it), I took it to a Ford Dealership where I was told there was a fault with the CAM Shaft sensors. After a $3,000 repair to fix the issue, I recently found Ford has Recalled 2014 F-150s for issues that sound identical to what I was experiencing in my 2015 F-150.

During normal highway driving, the vehicle abruptly went into "limp mode" with a complete loss of throttle control. The engine remained running, but I was unable to increase the speed of the vehicle. Once stopped, the vehicle showed several alerts on the dashboard: "Service Advancetrac," "Hill Assist Not Available," and "See Owners Manual." I was able to scan for fault codes and returned DTC P2112: Throttle Actuator Control System Stuck Closed. Upon further research, there is a Ford Technical Service Bulletin # TSB 16-0193 which states the vehicle may exhibit an intermittent loss of power and/or an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P2111, P2112 and/or P2119 stored in powertrain control module (PCM) memory." After restarting the vehicle, it returned to normal operation with the dashboard errors remaining. A Ford dealer is scheduled to look at the vehicle. I have been told they expect to diagnose and replace a faulty Electronic Throttle Body. Losing complete throttle control while driving on a busy highway is dangerous for many obvious reasons.

The vehicle was repaired but experienced the same failure in July 2023. No lights previous to incident. Sudden engine & speed malfunction . Yes, it happened multiple times heading to the ford dealer-2 mi away. We kept the hazard lights on. Sudden loss of power while driving, engine goes into limp mode, down hill assist light and altrack light comes on. Truck restarts but again limps unexpectedly. Took it to dealer -it was the throttle body that had been replaced 3 1/2 years ago by dealer.
accelator stuck to the floor a couple of times when gassing it to pass other cars on the roads. The pedal would actually will stay pressed down even when my foot is off the pedal, it will speed the truck up even when pressing down hard on the brakes. when i got it to stop and cut the truck off while in park and turning the key the rpms were going absouletely nuts. looking to see if this is a common occurance. thanks in advance!

The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling in the McDonald’s drive-thru pickup line, the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration and drove over the curb causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and almost crashed into a wall. While driving at posted speeds on open highway and in congested work zones, this F-150 experienced an Electronic Throttle Body failure 5 times between Rochester Hills, MI and Granger, IN on 9/13/2022. It happened again on 9/14/2022 in city two way traffic with no shoulder. In each incident, the vehicle went into limp mode with rough idle and had to be completely stopped, turned off and restarted in high traffic, hazardous stopping locations. This happened once before in the mountains in Utah, in a construction zone back on 5/02/2021. At that time, the check engine light did not stay on and Ford was unable to find a code. It did not happen again until 9/13/2022. These incidents put me and my family in danger with each episode. Ford is fully aware of this issue, has in the past and should notify owners of the potential issue and continue to make repairs available as a recall or extended warranty service issue.
I was driving down the road like I always do, the cruise control just shut off. I tried to re-engage it and it would not respond, about 15 minutes later I engaged the cruise control successfully. This has happened numerous times over the last three weeks and now in order to engage the cruise control, I lift with my fingertips, the top left and the bottom left of the button and then it will engage. One occasion, the dash lights in trip 1 mode flashed. Then the control began working again.

WHILE IN A PARKING SPACE ON SIDE OF CVS DRUG STORE NO OTHER CARS NEAR AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND PUTTING INTO REVERSE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN WHILE APPLYING BRAKE DIDN'T STOP HIT A CEMENT POLE BARRIER, TRUCK KEPT TRYING TO JERK BACKWARDS AFTER 2-3 SECONDS IT STOPPED SHIFTED VEHICLE FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE TO MOVE BACK INTO PARKING SPACE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN; QUICKLY SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO PARK VEHICLE CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD WHILE BRAKE PEDAL APPLIED AND HIT A TREE AND TRUCK TURNED OFF IF NOT FOR TREE WOULD HAVE WENT DOWN EMBANKMENT ON TO A FREEWAY

I POWERED OFF THE TRUCK, WAITING 10 SECONDS AND IT STARTS AND RUNS FINE UNTIL IT DOES IT AGAIN.

WHILE ON OPEN FREEWAY WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE SET AT 70MPH PASSED A SEMI TRUCK THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED VIOLENTLY. THIS OCCURED 3 SEPARATE TIMES.

TRUCK FAULT CODE FLASHES AND TRUCK SHUTS DOWN INTO SAFE MODE. THREE TIMES IT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 70 MPH AND THE FOURTH TIME IT HAPPENED IN AN A SIDE ROAD DOING 35 MPH. EVERY TIME THE SAME THING HAPPENED, THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN IN SAFE MODE SHOWING FAULT CODES. I WOULD STOP, IT WOULD IDLE VERY ROUGH, I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE IT AS IT WOULD NOT REV OR LET ME INCREASE RPM. I WOULD HAVE TO SHUT OFF TRUCK, TURN IT BACK ON, IT WOULD RESET AND DRIVE LIKE NORMAL. TOOK TO COURTESY FORD FOUR TIMES TO DIAGNOSE AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING, I BOUGHT A CODE READY AND THE TRUCK WENT INTO FAULT CODE AND SAFETY MODE AGAIN, THE CODE READ P2112. FORD FOUND TSB 16-0139 APPLIED AND REPLACED THROTTLE BODY AND CHARGED ME $496.95 FOR REPAIR. 2015 FORD F150 WITH 58K MILES.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 F-150 ON A CITY STREET AT 35 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY MY TRUCK LOST ALL ACCELERATION POWER AND BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO SHAKE AND SPUTTER AS I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH TWO CODES TO 'SERVICE ADVANCETRAC' AND 'HILL DECENT CONTROL FAULT'. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, THEN RESTARTED. IT SEEMED TO TAKE LONGER TO CRANK, BUT IT STARTED AND I PROCEEDED DOWN THE ROAD. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WOULD REACH 35 MPH THE SAME SEQUENCE WOULD OCCUR WITH THE VEHICLE SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND LOSING ALL ACCELERATION POWER ALONG WITH THE SERVICE CODES FLASHING. I RESEARCHED MY PROBLEM AND READ STORY AFTER STORY ON THE INTERNET OF OTHERS WHO OWNED 2015 F-150'S WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE HAPPENING. I EVEN FOUND A RECALL FORD ISSUED: 16B32 FOR A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY, BUT WAS TOLD AT MY LOCAL FORD SERVICE CENTER THAT ALTHOUGH THE IDENTICAL THING HAPPENED WITH OTHERS, MY TRUCK WAS NOT LISTED UNDER THAT RECALL. I HAD TO PAY $500 OUT OF POCKET FOR THEM TO REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY PLUS LABOR COSTS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE 2015 TRUCKS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMETHING DONE TO INCLUDE MORE TRUCKS LIKE MINE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES INTO THAT RECALL. I SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING ALMOST $500 TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. I'M JUST GLAD I WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY OR PULLING MY CAMPER TRAILER. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED OR BADLY INJURED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM! PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT BEFORE THIS HAPPENS!

ON ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, SINCE NEW, THE VEHICLE BRAKES ARE APPLIED WHEN PASSING AN 18 WHEEL TRUCK/TRAILER (SOMETIMES) CAUSING A RAPID 15-20 MPH HARD BRAKING DECREASE IN SPEED JOLTING AND SCARING THE OCCUPANTS OF THE FORD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOE HALL FORD LOCATED AT 1617 21ST ST, LEWISTON, ID 83501, (208) 746-2391, AND THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS I REGAINED RESPONSE FROM THE ACCELERATOR AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO UPSHIFT. A FEW MOMENTS LATER, THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE REPEATED WITH THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTING TO 1ST. THIS REPEATED A THIRD TIME. THE INCIDENT CAUSED SEVERAL NEAR-MISSES AS WE LOST POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND BEGAN A RAPID DECELERATION WITHOUT NOTICE.

WHEN LIGHTED TURNED GREEN PUT TRUCK BACK INTO DRIVE AND ACCELERATION RETURNED. PARKED AT MY PLACE OF BUSINESS. SHUT THE TRUCK OFF BUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAYED ON. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF CONCERN TO DRIVE IT AFTER LOSING ACCELERATION (TOW TRUCK DRIVER CALL THE VEHICLE IN LIMP MODE). THE DEALERSHIP FOUND NOT FAULT CODES BUT DID FIND PLASTIC PIECES ON THE FLOOR BOARD. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A "BROKEN BRAKE PEDAL" - A SMALL PLASTIC DISC (GROMMET) INSIDE THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY BROKE INTO PIECES CAUSING LOSS F ACCELERATION, THE ELECTRONIC MESSAGING SYSTEM TO DISABLE HILL ASSIST AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THIS IN FORD FUSIONS BUT NOT IN AN F150. THE NEW BRAKE ASSEMBLY IS A TOTAL REDESIGN FROM THE THE ONE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT WITH. THE IMAGE ON THE LEFT IS THE BROKEN BRAKE ASSEMBLE (THE FINGER IS POINTING TO THE DAMAGED ITEM), THE PART ON THE RIGHT WHERE YOU WILL SEE THE SMALL WHITE DISC (GROMMET) IS THE REPLACEMENT BRAKE ASSEMBLY. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW IN 2015 AND HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER. MY VEHICLE HAS 54K MILES, IS DRIVEN LOCALLY, NOT USED TO TOW OR OFF ROAD AND IS GARAGED WHEN NOT IN USE. THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR SO THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE FLAT BEDDED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP, MARCOTTE FORD, HOLYOKE MA. WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THE REAR END FAILED AND LOCKED UP. UPON THEIR TEST DRIVE I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A TOTAL FAILURE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY SAID THEY HAD TO WAIT FOR A DECISION FROM FORD TO EITHER REBUILD OR REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. IT OCCURS MOST FREQUENTLY WHILE ACCELERATING TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS BUT HAS ALSO OCCURRED WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND ACCELERATING TO VILLAGE SPEEDS OF 30 MPH. IT HAS EVEN OCCURRED ONCE WHILE USING CRUISE CONTROL AS THE VEHICLE WAS CLIMBING A HILL. AT THIS TIME IT IS UNKNOWN WHAT IS CAUSING THE FAULT. AN ATTEMPT HAS BEEN MADE TO CLEAN THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. A NEW THROTTLE BODY IS ON ORDER BUT HAS TO BE INSTALLED YET TO SEE IF IT CORRECTS THE ISSUE.

I FINALLY HAD TO SLAM ON THE BREAKS AND IT FINALLY DISENGAGED. I HAD ALMOST REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF US. I THEN GOT INTO THE FAST LANE AND PLACED THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AGAIN AND FOUND OUT THAT I WAS UNABLE TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL BY TAPPING THE BRAKES LIKE YOU SHOULD. I HAD TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL 2/3 OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHICH AT THIS POINT YOU ARE STOPPING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS THE THIRD SAFETY ISSUE IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR THAT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND THAT IT HAS BEEN TOWED TO FORD. MY TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT FORD. EVERYTHING IS REALLY RANDOM AND CAN'T BE REPLICATED. IT'S DONE THIS ABOUT 10 TIMES NOW AND THE DEALER HAS NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN THERE FOR OVER A WEEK WITH NO REMEDY.

CALLED FORD AND THEY DON'T KNOW ABOUT AN EMISSIONS WARRANTY IN THEIR OWNERS MANUAL. LOOKED ONLINE AND YOUTUBE TO DISCOVER THIS PROBLEM IS NOT JUST ME AND FREQUENT WITH OTHERS. QUESTION - HOW MANY REAR IMPACT ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS/POTENTIAL INCIDENTS WILL IT TAKE FOR FORD TO ADDRESS THIS SERIOUS UNANNOUNCED BRAKING ISSUE. IN ADDITION, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR VIBRATES AND DOES NOT LATCH PROPERLY. TWO DEALERS HAVE FAILED TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE TO DATE AND I BELIEVE IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT HAS LARGELY BEEN DISMISSED BY THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS AND DEALERSHIPS INVOLVED. DESPITE NUMEROUS DOCUMENTED ATTEMPTS TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY HAVE IGNORED THIS CONCERN, HAVE FAILED TO RESPOND TO ME IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND DECLINED A BUYBACK REQUEST. I AM SUBMITTING LEMON LAW DOCUMENTATION FOR THE VEHICLE DURING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 31. MY WIFE TOOK A VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM WITH HER PHONE. BY THE TIME WE ARRIVED IN RALEIGH, NC, THE DASH MOUNTED SPEEDOMETER WAS CLOSE TO 100 MPH. WE PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS WHILE ATTENDING A MEETING WITH THE SENATOR. ON THE WAY HOME AND HEADING BACK NORTH ON ROUTE 17, THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED DROPPING BACK. BY THE TIME WE GOT HOME, THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ONLY OFF BY APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH COMPARED TO THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER. PARKED THE TRUCK IN THE GARAGE OVER NIGHT. WHEN USING THE TRUCK THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE SPEEDOMETER SEEMED TO MATCHED UP AGAIN. DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE ISSUE.

THE SAFETY RECALL REPAIR HAS NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM WITH MY TRUCK.

THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE I PURCHASED THE F150 IN JANUARY(2015) AND BOTH OCCURRENCES HAPPENED WHILE PASSING A TANKER TRUCK SPECIFICALLY AND WHILE IN THE LEFT LANE- TANKER TRUCK WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE TRAVELING AT A SLOWER SPEED PERHAPS AROUND 60-65MPH. THIS DEFECT TO ME APPEARS TO BE VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF MY F150 ENGAGES THE BRAKES FOR NO REASON AND THERE WERE TO BE CARS BEHIND ME A REAR END ACCIDENT COULD LIKELY OCCUR ON THE INTERSTATE. FORD HAS BEEN VERY SLOW IN RESPONDING TO THIS SAFETY CONCERN AND HAS NOT CAME UP WITH A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. WHEN THE SYSTEM ACTIVATES, THERE ARE NO OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK, ONLY IN THE ADJACENT LANE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER HALF A DOZEN TIMES, AND HAS RESULTED IN NEAR REAR-END COLLISIONS FROM VEHICLES BEHIND THE TRUCK BECAUSE OF HOW RAPIDLY THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SLOWS THE TRUCK. MY VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ON INSIDE LANE OF FOUR LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY AND CAME UP ON SLIGHTLY SLOWER VEHICLE TRAVELING IN THE SAME LANE AT AROUND 70 MPH. MY VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AND TRACKED THE OTHER VEHICLE FOR ABOUT A MILE BEFORE COMING UP ON A SLOWER MOVING TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK IN THE OUTSIDE LANE. AS THE VEHICLE IN FRONT ON MY TRUCK PASSED THE TRACTOR TRAILER ON THE INSIDE LANE, IT MOVED OVER IN FRONT OF THE TRACTOR TRAILER TO THE OUTSIDE LANE TO ALLOW ME TO PASS. INSTEAD ON SPEEDING UP TO 75 MPH, MY TRUCK STARTED TO BRAKE BEFORE I DISENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL (AROUND 65 MPH). AT THAT TIME, I WAS LOCATED BESIDE THE TRACTOR TRAILER NEAR THE BACK OF THE TRAILER. A VEHICLE FOLLOWING ME HAD TO BRAKE DUE MY TRUCK UNEXPECTED BRAKING AND SLOW DOWN.

IF SOMEONE WAS BEHIND ME, IT IS LIKELY THEY WOULD HAVE REAR ENDED MY VEHICLE. THERE SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE AUTO CRUISE CONTROL,ALTHOUGH FORD BELIEVES THIS BEHAVIOR IS NORMAL.
