I was driving home and the truck started to shift very harshly and had died at a stoplight , I put it into park and restarted it and the engine light came on tried to put it into drive and it had jumped forward very rough as soon as I did, started driving again and then the truck shifted into 5th gear and would not shift out of 5th gear at all was very slowly leaving from stop signs and the high speed fans had turned on and ran the entire rest of the time. Causing very irratic shifting where at times it would down shift and skid the tires

2016 F150 Lariat - Backup camera warning system is not working. Safety issue - When the vehicle transmission is placed in reverse the backup camera does not function. The touch screen in the cab displays a blue screen with the words "Please check surroundings for safety". The camera image displaying the rear area behind the vehicle should be displayed in the touch screen in the cab. This backup camera warning system malfunction has recently been reported and included in a large recall including 2017 vehicles but does not include the 2016 vehicles.

While trying to backup my rear view screen camera is black and flashing on and off so fast that I can’t gauge how close or far I am away from an object. Everything works ( radio, GPS, source and other things) with in the screen it self. But the problem is threatening to my safety. I ve tried to reset it by the recommendation of Ford but to no avail.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 136,900. The contact later discovered that the mileage on the title was 189,000.

When you turn ignition off, pull key out of ignition and open driver door. The doors unlock but the tailgate will not. It won't even make the sound of it unlocking or locking. Its stuck shut, handle won't do anything.

Intermittent flashing of gear selectors (PRNDM) and gears 1-6. When putting in park it loses what gear it is in and nothing highlighted, so then the truck will not start. While driving and this begins, it gets stuck in gear and gear selectors start flashing as it does not know what gear it is in. Lead frame problem in the 6r80 is what detect it is showing. Please help with getting this covered under a recall!

The truck suddenly gave all kinds of warning signals like horn honking, side lights flashing, auto door locking/unlocking, etc. I had to disable the horn for not bothering the neighbors. I drove to Ford dealership without horn but with the fear from the BCM signals. The dealer service spent 5 days and eventually found the problem. It is "water intrusion causing BCM malfunctioning". Further diagnosis is that water came from heater box/AC condensation. The truck is 8.5 years old and has only 50K miles. How could it happen? The service manager and all mechanics never saw this happened with a Ford F150. But after searching on internet and consulting ChatGPT, we were told this is a known issue for Ford F150 made in 2015 to 2017 although there is no recall for it. While driving, the vehicle has been going into limp mode at varying speeds on the roadway or while pulling onto the road. The problem lies within the components of the electric throttle body. The system malfunctions and locks the throttle body closed, thus putting the truck into limp mode. Shutting the vehicle off, waiting, and restarting temporarily resolves this issue UNTIL the PCM detects a fault in the electrical components of the throttle body and sends the truck into limp mode. When this happens, it also triggers a warning message regarding hill start assist. This is an extreme safety issue as pulling onto the roadway or loosing power in traffic and not being able to pull off can lead to collisions especially around blind curves or in heavy traffic. There also isn’t always a location to safely pull off the roadway, potentially leaving the vehicle and its operator in the roadway, increasing the risk of collision and injury

On 4 separate occasions approaching stops/stoplights the engine shuddered and died leaving me without power steering or power brakes. Three additional occasions while taking off from stops the engine did the same thing and dies suddenly causing the vehicles behind me to rear end one another. The electrical system has malfunctioned while driving, leaving me without blinkers, headlights or dash lights. The dealer as well as ford are aware of the problem and have issued reports regarding the faulty engines. This truck has been in the dealership multiple times without remedy from ford. There is no warning prior to the engine shuddering and cutting off. These issues have been reported since the first month of ownership. We purchased this vehicle new.

2016 f150 3.5L eco boost V-6 was purchased recently from used dealership. Upon taking possession the vehicle would shut down while driving. I would need to get to the shoulder of road, put truck in park, turn off vehicle and then restart. It’s happened 20 times in last 30 days. I’ve taken to dealership 5x and they are unable to resolve, diagnose or offer any help. Online, many other owners have noted same issue. Doing 65 on fwy and truck suddenly dies is big deal! Ford does nothing. Error message on dash says something about stability track. When restarting engine, it turns over many times as if flooded but then starts.

Occasionally on startup will hard shift then get stuck in 5th,3rd,or 1st gear and will move slowly upon accelerating.This will also happen when driving at different speeds.Cooling fan will also be running on high speed.Had lead frame and valve body replaced($2000) but within two weeks symptoms returned.Truck is now in dealer waiting for replacement transmission to come in($7000) Will add receipt when vehicle is returned.

Unexpected gear downshift accompanied by a temporary rear wheel lock-up. This occurs at highway speeds and has shifted from 6th gear to 2nd gear multiple times at 50+ mph. This causes substantial safety concerns to both those in the vehicle as well as other vehicles on the road in the immediate proximity. When this occurs speed is restricted suddenly/immediately by a reduction of 5-12 mph. This causes severe impact to passengers. At low speed the gears shift sporadically between all 6 gear ranges impacting drivability. The vehicle has been inspected several times by Corwin Ford however they clear the codes and 'can not replicate' which correlates to the dealership deeming it safe to operate. There were multiple warning lights/lamps, messages when delivered to the dealership. Those were then cleared prior to 'diagnostics' as that was 'their process'.

Passenger side door lock actuator goes in and out. Sometimes the door will open sometimes it won’t. One time the door opened by it self while driving. I don’t know if it’s a short or what’s going on with it but it seems to be a problem with other ford owners as well.

While driving the truck jumps back and forth between Drive and Manual multiple times and then goes. Happens occasionally and has been going on for about a week. Then today, it did it again and all gauges flicked on and off and jumped between gears. It first happened on the highway doing 70mph and it's like it dropped down to first gear and throws you forward.

When operating the turn signal and using the wipers on delay, I smelled a plastic like burning smell thinking it was the wiring in the controller arm. This happened several times and eventually the wiper runs 100% on the time delay with no way to turn off except by pulling the fuse. I can operate the normal speeds of the wipers when it rains if needed but I still get a smell sometimes. I have not had the issue looked at but will next week at an independent repair shop. I'm concerned maybe an electrical issue could cause a fire at some point in time.

Transmission gets stuck in 3rd or sometimes 5th gear when in Drive. Shifting to 1, 2, or M does nothing; shifting from Neutral to Reverse or Drive creates a large clunk and lunge. It seems to be the same issue as the 2014 F-150 & Expedition 6R80 transmission recall and is so common that it took no time at all to find out what my problem likely is.. This is the 5th time this has happened. Two times were when pulling out onto very busy roads, once in a parking lot, once in a field, and once turning into my alley; some incidents were years apart. If it were to happen again when I needed 1st gear to avoid being hit, I would not have the power for needed acceleration or to make a proper maneuver. It also acts very funny when it happens and creates a very large distraction from driving. When I was able to get back off the main road, it seemed like there was light smoke coming from under the truck so I shut the vehicle down in the middle of a smaller road, which was dangerous enough. I have less than 30,000 miles on my truck and am very maintenance minded; this should not be a worry I should have to have. This appears to be the result of a defective part in the transmission called the "Lead Frame" and it is not easy to find a new one right now due to the excessive amount of them needing replacement.

When shifting the truck into gear the lights such as the parking, driving, neutral, reverse and lower gears lights as well as the lights showing which gears the trucks shifting into do not light up! Therefore, you cannot tell what gear the truck is currently placed into. Also, if the lights do light up, they flicker very erratically, and the truck will change gears on its own. When driving the vehicle, the truck will just suddenly change gears and makes a hard shift into lower or higher gear or gears which is extremely dangerous. This makes the truck feel like I've been hooked up to another vehicle that is trying to snatch me backwards. I was driving on the highway the other day and the truck went from 6th gear doing over 70mph to all of a sudden downshifting and dropping down to 40mph on the highway. I thought the engine and transmission were both going to explode on me and cause an accident. This was extremely terrifying and if I didn't keep my cool it could have easily caused a wreck. Most people would have freaked out had an accident. The truck barely made it home because of the gears shifting all over the place and the truck wanting to lose power and shut down. This is extremely dangerous and the representative I spoke to from Ford agreed that considering the mileage of the truck and with the recent recalls concerning transmissions being recalled for the exact same issues that my truck is experiencing that I needed to call you guys and get my tuck added to the Ford F-150 recall list for the transmission issues ford trucks have been having. This has happened on four separate occasions. When driving, we suddenly get a warning about hill assist, immediately followed by a warning about stability control, immediately followed by the check engine wrench light. At the exact same time, vehicle shakes very hard and loses acceleration, almost like the connection between the pedal and the engine was cut. Today, we were going about 70mph on the freeway when it happened, and all we could do was put the hazards on and let it roll in neutral. Luckily, we found a bit of shoulder to pull off on. Everyone was in danger because we lost the engine at speed. I'm scared to imagine what would have happened going up an incline. On each of these occasions, turning everything off, waiting, and then turning it back on was what it took for it to be drivable again. We have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they either sell us a 'fix' that doesn't work, or they tell us nothing is wrong with it. Looking at forums online, this problem seems to be one many people have experienced. None of them have found a solution. They suggest problems with wheel sensors and traction control systems. No one has gotten any answers from Ford. It looks like another manufacturer had a suit filed against them for the same problem. Either way, Ford is knowingly letting people drive around with vehicles that can lose engine acceleration power at any time, anywhere. We could have died today, and realistically, us and everyone around us are at risk of injury or death every time we drive this thing. We can't get any answers, and Ford dealership either can't or won't help.

This truck is plagued with electric problems that the Ford dealership cannot solve. No other local ford dealer will even look at it. See problems below: Engine light with varying codes Tire pressure sensors stopped displaying on screen O2 senor codes Intake camshaft position sensor codes Electronic steering gear stop working Left half of steering wheel option wont work (cruise control, menu, etc.) radio stays on (even with battery disconnected at one point) taillights stop working intermittently (good bulbs, fuses, etc.) blinkers stop working intermittently (good bulbs, fuses, relays, etc.) windows rollup/down by themselves Synch displays messages at odd times while vehicle is in motion 911 assist tries to dial out AC stopped working intermittently Transmission tries to downshift by itself Four wheel drive selector knob wont engage sometimes Engine will run fine then continually die and rough rough (then will have periods of no issues.)

The "service advance trac" light would come on and the vehicle would go into limp mode. Limp mode would last until the vehicle was turned off. This happened 4 times in all. Once in March and three times in June. It always occurred shortly after the initial start of the day. The vehicle is available for additional inspection if and when needed. When the vehicle goes into limp mode, a loss of power occurs. This is a safety concern as moving through intersections from a complete stop is unusually slow and lagging. The Ford dealership did not find the root cause during initial inspection, which resulted in a bad diagnosis and an unneeded repair. The second dealership visit, 3 months after the initial, resulted in finding a chafed wiring harness. It had rubbed against a frame rail near the radiator. The chafing not only rubbed through the harness insulation, but also the insulation on some of the wires inside of the large harness/bundle of wires. The warning lights first appeared in March of 2024 when the unneeded repair was performed. Three months later, in June of 2024, the chafed wiring harness was discovered and repaired by a Ford dealer in Apple Valley, MN. I will do my best to provide the dealer video of the issue as well as the two invoices associated with the repairs. Within the invoices there are excellent notes left by the technicians that describe their findings. With the June invoice resulting in repairing the root cause. I cannot upload the video, so I posted it to YouTube. The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the front driver’s and passenger’s side doors failed to open when needed. The contact stated that several attempts were needed while using the key fob to unlock the door. Additionally, the contact stated that vehicle was not equipped with automatic lock/unlock feature and could only be locked/unlocked using the key fob. The contact stated that while attempting to remove the key fob from the ignition switch, there was approximately 5 to 10 minutes before the key could be removed from the ignition switch. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

So I was driving my 2016 Ford F150 3.5L v6 twin turbo today. I turned a corner and punched the accelerator to get up to speed and it felt like I ran into a brick wall and the truck began chiming and I lost all power. I mean I had *zero* power - I pushed the gas pedal down and nothing at all happened. The warnings were: "Service AdvanceTrac System" "Hill Descent Control Fault" "Collision Warning Not Available" "Hill Start Assist Not Available" There was an orange wrench on the dash, the air bag light was on, the traction control light was on. The truck was idling super rough the whole truck was shaking. I shut the truck off - gave it a second and started it back up and Everything disappeared. It started happening maybe once every six months and now it’s multiple times a day. Today, i was in the middle of an intersection when it happened and barely made it to the side of the road.

The truck went into limp mode while driving in the highway and did a hard shift down. The truck almost crashed due to the sudden problem. The code that came up was P0706 and P0707. From what I understand, Ford has had problems with this in previous years. The problem still occurs with my truck model as well.

A) Phone will no longer connect to vehicle - California is a hands-free state. B) Intermittent screen black-outs so back-up camera not functioning during these times. C) Locks on left rear door will intermittingly not disengage requiring rear-seated passengers to exit out other side or exit through front seats. Dealer stated APIM needed replacement after assessing a $265.00 labor charge. Cost to replace is in excess of $1100.00 (pre-tax).

Transmission will down shift to first while driving on highway. Code come up for transmission speed sensor short. Same as in the 2011 to 2013 models. That tab should be extended to later models. It is unsafe and could cause an accident/ death in high speed driving.

Vehicle stalls out at an idle. Several forum postings on Ford forums that owners of 2015 to 2017 F150 5.0 truck have had the same issues. Several users have said ford has replaced the VVT solenoid, and the issue has been resolved.

plastic oil pan leaking. had to replace it with a factory improved since many problems have been reported with this truck. Replacement cost was $1,343.87. The electrical problems deals with the radio sometimes it does not work until the next day. Has been that day since day 1 with the new truck. Dealership said nothing was wrong!!!!

APIM unit and plastic body components 2016 F150, 31,071mi., Sync3 v3.0.20204 Symptoms: Malfunction of the power window controls, radio controls and instrument panel. The APIM also controls many other safety functions, such as rear camera, safety lanes, park assist, backup guides, gps, cruise control, trailer/tow information, and other warnings/features. It is notable that Ford has issued recalls for the APIM due to safety issues in different year F150s, as well as Explorer, Escape, Expedition, Fusion and Lincoln models Navigator and MK2 models, to name a few. This has been reported once, I spoke with a Ford representative and he setup an appointment at the dealership that was to setup an appoint for diagnosis before they setup a repair/replacement appointment. An appointment to setup an appointment to setup a diagnosis appointment to setup a repair appointment. Seriously, what is up with that? Finally, a plastic component from a side-step flew of while traveling a highway, narrowly missing an on-coming car.

The trucks horn and hazard lights contiunsley goes off anytime it rains. We can be driving down the road and the truck will start going haywire, lights flashing horn won't shut off . There's been times when the truck itself wouldn't turn off even after removing the key . It's very bad wiring problem with this truck.

UNKNOWN Called a Ford dealership and they stated 2 other vehicles of the same year/make/model had similar issues. They couldn't find the issue. The touch screen radio got super hot to the point of not being able to touch it. Can't control the radio or climate from main panel. Can't lock or unlock truck manually or with key. Can't roll down windows from drivers side or adjust mirrors. Blind spot warning came on and at the same time all the tire pressure sensors lit up on the dash as well as the parking aid warning and airbag light. Worried about the risk of airbag deploying without cause, or fire from the radio getting so hot.

The vehicle experienced intermittent starting issues for a few days, then left my son stranded in the middle of an intersection after it would not crank. Was able to finally get it started and get it home, but had to get it towed to the dealership the next day. I was able to get a code with a scanner that pointed to a fault in the transmission range sensor circuit. I did some research and discovered the problem was likely a defective molded lead frame inside the transmission. There have been many instances when this part has failed and there was a known problem with earlier model year vehicles that had an extension of the factory warranty. I paid to have the repair completed at a cost of $1430.31 but I believe this should have been a service bulletin item or a recall because of previously reported problems. I was without this vehicle for over 2 weeks.

Code P2112 was saved in the system also referring to the throttle position sensor or wiring. Taking my truck in to get looked at this week of 7-26-23. Truck was driving normal and out of no where it loses power entering traffic like it was in limp mode. Dash displays first “see service manual” second “ Service AdvanceTrac” and then finally “hill start assist not available”. When it came to a stop it idled normal but would not accelerate. Had both my kids with me so suddenly stopping like it did in heavy traffic area is alarming and could’ve been bad outcome had someone not been paying attention. This happened twice within 10 miles. Unknown which system is failing as Ford is unable to repair it. The truck codes include underpowered, turbo, catalytic converter, misfire. Truck cannot accelerate. Happens sporadically. The spark plugs, manifold, catalytic converter, brakes, rotors and turbo have all been replaced. Truck continues to have issues accelerating and running. At several points the cab of the truck filled with exhaust. Another point radiator fluid spewed all over under the hood. This truck is a threat to the health and safety of those driving it. The F150 forum states it is a common occurrence and the dealerships are replacing the same parts every few months and the problem never full resolves. Please recall this truck. The date below is when the problem started occurring but has been ongoing since.

Driving vehicle on highway and warning lights began to illuminate. Hill assist error, parking brake error, advance Trac Control error, wiper pump began to spray wiper fluid until it emptied and wipers would not stop. Car powered down and had to pull over. Car would start but would not move and had to get a tow to dealer.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that oil was leaking from the vehicle onto his driveway. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the mechanic stated that the vehicle was experiencing the failure listed in TSB: 20-2051 and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact the VIN was not under recall. No further assistance was provided. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 67,000.

There is a strong smell of electrical wires burning and occasionally a little smoke comes out from under the hood. I try and look for the problem but no luck in finding it. I know that there was a recall on Ford F150 about wiring from a heater block or something too close to the engine causing the wires to melt together.

It was raining and the rear window was fogging up, so I turned on the rear defrost. About 30 seconds go by and I smell a burning smell. Not sure what it was. I parked and was outside waiting on the bus to go into work and about 5-6 minute later the rear window shattered. It has a sliding window but the sliding portion didn’t shatter just the entire rest of the window.

It’s a known problem that the wiring for the defrosters causes the rear window to shatter. I was driving down the road and I heard a loud bang. It took me a few minutes to realize my rear window just exploded.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH and exiting the highway, the transmission erroneously downshifted causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate with the check engine warning light illuminated. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally however, the failure reoccurred and the vehicle stalled and would not immediately restart. After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cables, the vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who performed a transmission software update but the failure persisted along with several additional electrical failures. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission leadframe was faulty and needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 99,800.

When preparing to turn left off the main road, I noticed that the turn signals were not working, requiring me to go to the right off the side of the road, as there was heavy traffic behind us. While on the side of the road, I tried the windshield wipers, window sprayer, and turn signals. None were working. I turned the engine off and then restarted the truck, and limped home. After getting home, the truck was parked while looking for a mechanic to fix whatever was wrong with it. It was recommended to me that the "Wiper Multi-switch" be replaced. This did not eliminate the problem. I then arranged for the Ford Dealer, Woody Anderson Ford, to take the truck in and fix it. The Dealer says the truck has had a major electrical failure and doubts that can be fixed.

Shortly afterwards (1-2min) the backseat filled with smoke. I had my family immediately exit the vehicle and the rear window exploded. I checked the area and found an electrical wire draped over the rear passenger seat. It was melted and had clearly exploded up and over the seat. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Yes, had my children remained in the vehicle, they would have been sprayed with glass or burned from the electrical short. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, however, I looked online and found this has happened to others. I called Ford service center and they informed me their were no recalls out on the truck. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. However, Glass doctor performed the repair since Ford outsources their glass repair work Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? I have a critical safety issue with the 2016 F150 truck I bought from Cavalier Ford, Chesapeake VA. The issue is the 6R80 automatic transmission unexpectedly changes gears while driving. In my case the truck down shifted from high gear to low gear on the interstate while driving about 70 miles per hour. I was fortunate no other cars were near me. My truck almost came to a stop, no brake lights displayed. This occurred the week on Jul 6 2021. It has occurred multiple times since than as well. I had the battery checked, showed bad, and bought a new one Jul 9th. I also had the "Check Engine" light scanned at Autozone. It revealed codes P0706/707, ie Range Sensor inside the transmission. I called Cavalier for an appt (Aug 11th almost a month away!!!), informed it would be $140 for a diagnostic!! It was free at Autozone. I also had another free scan done at Logan's Auto repair on Jul 22nd, having codes P0702/705/706/707/1921, all pointing to the Range sensor in the tranny. I spoke with Cavalier representative Nicole on Jul 16th, no help, and also left Service Mgr. Cathy Hunt. a voicemail on Jul 23rd explaining my dilemma. She has not returned my call. My status now, I have a 2016 F150 Ford truck, I urgently need to work and daily errands, ie Grandkids. There was a recall on this issue on the 2011/12 F150s. How come not now, its a major safety issue, and I see a lot of these trucks around. I wanted to convey this to Ms Hunt. Summary...the motor in this truck blew up at approx 39000 miles, and Ford did replace it. Now, at 79000 miles the transmission is also gone out. Since my extended warranty of 75000 just expired, I need some assistance from either Cavalier or the Ford plant. I need a reliable truck for work and taking care of the grandkids. IT WAS THEN NOTICED THAT THE HEATED SEATS WERE NO LONGER FUNCTIONING/PROVIDING HEAT, EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHTS ON THE CONTROLS WERE STAYING ILLUMINATED. A SHORT WHILE LATER, A BURNING (ELECTRICAL) SMELL WAS OBSERVED IN THE CAB, COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE SMELL STARTED GETTING STRONGER, THE HEATED SEATS WERE TURNED OFF AND THE SMELL SEEMED TO GO AWAY WITHIN 5-10 MINUTES. UPON ARRIVING HOME, I INSPECTED THE SEAT HEATER CONTROL MODULE (ORIGINAL FORD PART NUMBER GU5T-14B663-AA) THAT IS LOCATED UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. UPON INSPECTION OF THIS MODULE, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BK-BU WIRE ON THE 12-PIN C3265A CONNECTOR HAD STARTED TO MELT. UPON DOING SOME INVESTIGATION OF THIS ISSUE ONLINE, IT WAS FOUND THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE AMONG MANY NEWER FORD VEHICLES THAT USES THE SAME SEAT HEATER CONTROL MODULE, AND MANY OTHER EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. I WAS COMPLETING A 3 HOUR DRIVE OF APPROXIMATELY 120 MILES (I HAD LESS THAN 5 MILES TO GO TILL I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION) WHEN MY SENSORS STARTED LIGHTING UP MY MESSAGE BOARD AND DASH SYSTEM. I WAS IN THE LEFT TURN LANE TO ENTER THE ON-RAMP TO US65 SOUTH WHEN THIS HAPPENED SO I PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER TO INVESTIGATE. I HAD JUST PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK WHEN A CAR PULLED UP AND SAID THAT MY ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. WHEN I GOT OUT TO LOOK, THE FIRE WAS ROLLING OUT FROM UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL WELL. AS WELL, THERE WAS EITHER A FLUID OR MELTED PLASTIC DRIPPING DOWN TO THE ASPHALT THAT WAS ALSO ON FIRE. THE FIRE APPEARED TO PUT ITSELF OUT, FOR THE MOST PART, PRIOR TO THE FIRE COMPANY ARRIVING WITHIN THE NEXT 10 MINUTES. I HAD, WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE AT THE TIME, RECALL WORK DONE BY MIKE RAISOR FORD IN LAFAYETTE, IN, LESS THAN 1 YEAR AGO. IN THAT RECALL WORK, I THOUGHT THE BLOCK HEATER WAS DISCONNECTED SO AS TO PREVENT AN ENGINE FIRE SUCH AS THIS. NOW, I AM HAVING DOUBTS AS TO WHETHER THIS WAS COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED. THE TAILGATE OPENS ON ITS OWN RANDOMLY WHILE PARKED AND WHEN MOVING. THIS FIRST STARTED HAPPENING IN THE FALL OF 2018 AND I STILL ON GOING AND HAPPEN TO ME AGAIN THIS WEEKEND 1/14/2020 FORD HAD ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ON 2017 AND NEWER TRUCKS BUT MINE IS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL. HOW DO I GET IT ADDED TO THE RECALL TO FIX THIS SAFETY PROBLEM. THE RECALL COVERS F-250, F-350 AND F-450 TRUCKS FROM THE 2017 THROUGH 2019 MODEL YEARS. ALL THE TRUCKS HAVE ELECTRIC TAILGATE LATCH RELEASE SWITCHES IN THE TAILGATE HANDLE. FORD SAYS WATER CAN GET INTO THE ELECTRICAL WIRING AND CAUSE A SHORT CIRCUIT, ACTIVATING THE SWITCHES AND RELEASING THE LATCHES. THAT COULD ALLOW LOOSE CARGO TO FALL ONTO THE ROAD.

I EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE THAT WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST BUT BECAME WORST OVER TIME. WITH THIS FAILURE I WOULD LOSE STEERING AND VEHICLE ADVANCE TRACK AS WELL AS ABS BRAKE FUNCTION. WHEN ELECTRICAL POWER WAS LOST THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING WOULD STOP FUNCTIONING CAUSING COMPLETE LOSE OF STEERING. THIS CAUSED ME TO CROSS INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE ONCOMING LANE. THE DEALER FOUND A WIRE GOING TO THE ALTERNATOR THAT HAD WORN THROUGH CAUSING AN OVER VOLTAGE CONDITION. THIS CAUSED MANY OF THE SYSTEMS, INCLUDING STEERING, TO SHUT DOWN. IN MY RESEARCH THIS IS NOT THE ONLY OCCURRENCE OF THIS ISSUE. MY VEHICLE HAS 42,000 MILES ON IT. I WOULD GUESS THIS WILL BECOME A MUCH MORE COMMON ISSUE WITH TIME.

HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE TO DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES WITH COMPLAINT OF HEARING RATTLING UNDER VEHICLE AND IN STEERING COLUMN ALONG WITH NOISE FROM RIGHT FRONT BRAKE AREA. ALSO WITH COMPLAINTS OF VEHICLES WANDERING LEFT AND RIGHT ON HIGHWAY REGARDLESS OF ROAD CROWN. HAVE ASKED SPECIFICALLY TO CHECK THE ELECTRIC STEERING TO ENSURE NOT FAULTY. ALL THESE COMPLAINTS WHILE STILL UNDER ORIGINAL WARRANTY. TODAY, TWO WEEKS AFTER LAST VISIT, STEERING LOCKS UP WHILE DRIVING AND I CANNOT TURN THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ON MY PROPERTY GOING SLOW AND WAS ABLE TO STOP SAFELY. I WAS DRIVING HOME AND DROVE 30 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE DOING 70MPH. GLAD THE STEERING DID NOT FREEZE THEN. SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN RESTARTED IT AND GOT THE 'STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED' ON THE CLUSTER ALONG WITH A BUNCH OF OTHER SYMBOLS. THE SYNC SCREEN CAME UP AND FROZE AND COULD NOT BE CLEARED NOR WAS IT RESPONSIVE TO ANY OTHER SELECTIONS ON SCREEN. I THINK THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH EITHER THE ELECTRIC STEERING, A SENSOR OR POSSIBLE LOW OR INTERRUPTED VOLTAGE. THIS VEHICLE HAS NO VOLTAGE GAUGE FOR BATTERY NOR WAS THERE ANY INDICATOR THAT WARNED OF A LOW VOLTAGE ISSUE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN. IS NHTSA WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO BE KILLED WITH THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT IS INVESTIGATED? I AM WAITING UNTIL MONDAY WHEN DEALER OPENS TO HAVE THEM COME GET THIS VEHICLE. FAILURES INCLUDE CAR STALLING IN INTERSECTION, BLIND SPOT MONITORING, BACK UP SENSORS, CAR SHUTTING OFF AND TURNING BACK ON ON ITS OWN. CAR HAD TO BE POWERED DOWN AND SHUT OFF FOR 30 SECONDS BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO RESTART. MOST RECENT FAILURE RESULTED IN TRUCK HORN GOING OFF AS WELL AS CAR TURNING OFF WHILE GOING 35-40 MPH THEN RESTARTING ON ITS OWN - CAR SURGED FORWARD AFTER IT RESTARTED ITSELF. AT THE SAME TIME HAZARDS COMING ON, DOORS UNLOCKING AND LOCKING AND REAR TAILGATE OPENING. AFTER BRINGING CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP, SHUT OFF CAR AND IT TURNED ITSELF BACK ON (HORN WENT OFF, HAZARDS WENT ON, DOORS UNLOCKED AND LOCKED, AND REAR TAIL GATE RELEASED). TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM.

THE POLICE WAS CALLED, THEY EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A REPORT WAS FILED ON THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BACK IN FEBRUARY 2019 UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V568000 (SEAT BELTS, STRUCTURE) BY THE DEALER (DAVID MCDAVID FORD FORT WORTH, 300 W LOOP 820 S, FORT WORTH, TX 76108). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AFTER THE FIRE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

WHILE DRIVING THE INTERIOR INSTRUMENT LIGHTS SUDDENLY COME ON PARK BRAKE, 4X4, AIR BAG, TRACTION,ABS, ADVANCE TRAC, AND STEERING ASSIST. DURING THIS PROCESS THE BRAKES ENGAGE & THEN YOU CAN HEAR THE SCRUBBING SOUND OF THE BRAKES.THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I'VE RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES, AFTER A MONTH OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTING & ROAD TESTING THE STEERING SYSTEM FAILED ON THE SERVICEMAN WHILE DRIVING IT. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WANT TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO ME WITHOUT MAKING ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE IT HAS NOT RE INITIATED THIS PROCESS IN THE LAST 3 DAYS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME AND ANY OTHER VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. FORD HAS INFORMED ME THAT IF THE STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING CALL ROADSIDE TO BRING IT BACK. ALL OF THESE WERE IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURES. NONE OF THEM WORK AND FORD WANTED $1,500.00 TO REPLACE THE "APIM" MODULE, WHICH PURPORTEDLY WOULD MAKE IT WORK AGAIN. IN THE WORST INSTANCE, NONE OF THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON NOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO BE ABLE TO KNOW HOW FAST I AM DRIVING, TEMPERATURE, ALERTS, OR ANYTHING THAT NEEDS POWER OTHER THAN TO START/DRIVE THE TRUCK. I ALSO NOTED WHEN I SHIFTED GEARS ON THE TRANSMISSION, IT DID NOT INDICATE WHAT GEAR/DRIVING MODE THE VEHICLE WAS ACTUALLY IN. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON NO LESS THAN A HALF DOWN INSTANCES. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE AS IT IS INTERMITTENT SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT. IT HAS NOT OCCURRED AFTER EVERYTHING IS ALREADY OPERATIONAL WHILE DRIVING, ONLY AT STARTUP/IGNITION POINT. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO RESET IT MULTIPLE TIMES BY TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF/ON AND REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION BUT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM AS IT RANDOMLY COMES ABOUT AND THEN RANDOMLY GOES AWAY. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE AFFECTED BY BUMPS (LOOSE WIRE) OR EVEN TAPPING THE DASH TO SEE IF ANYTHING CHANGES. I HAVE ALSO PULLED THE MAIN FUSES THAT CONTROL THESE AREAS AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE FUSES. RESETTING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM DID NOT ALSO HAVE AN AFFECT BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY BUT DID WORK IN ONE INSTANCE HOWEVER IT DID NOT IN OTHERS.

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON FREEWAYS WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ENABLED, IF THE VEHICLE APPROACHES A VEHICLE IN AN ADJACENT LANE (TYPICALLY A LARGER VEHICLE LIKE A TRUCK WITH A TRAILER, SEMI, OR TANKER) THE COLLISION AID ACTIVATES AND HEAVILY APPLIES THE BRAKES. IF SOMEONE IS FOLLOWING CLOSE BEHIND ME, AS HAS HAPPENED IN AT LEAST 4 INSTANCES, THE INDIVIDUAL WILL NEED TO STOP AND MAKE AN EMERGENCY MANEUVER TO AVOID COLLIDING. IN BOTH CASES, THE BRAKING ONLY LASTED MOMENTARILY BUT WAS ENOUGH TO REDUCE THE VEHICLES SPEED 20-30 MPH DURING THAT TIME. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY FORD BUT THEY HAVE SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO. FOR THE TIME BEING, WE KEEP THIS FEATURE DISABLED UNTIL FORD CAN GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS FOR PREVIOUS YEARS BUT OURS IS NOT INCLUDED. BECAUSE OF THIS FORD HAS SAID THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO ON MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED.

I WAS DRIVING ON A BRIDGE WITHOUT ANY SAFETY SHOULDERS AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER, "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" INDICATOR CAME ON, "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" INDICATOR CAME ON, AND "SEE MANUAL" INDICATOR CAME ON WITH THE WRENCH SYMBOL. AFTER NEARLY BEING REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR, I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO AN OFF RAMP AND PULL OVER. THE TRUCK WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I SHUT IT OFF AND THEN RESTARTED IT AND WAS ABLE TO GET BACK OVER THE BRIDGE BUT THEN THE SAME EXACT SCENARIO HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE. ON THE WAY HOME, IT HAPPENED A COUPLE MORE TIMES BUT I WAS ABLE TO GET IT HOME. I SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT AT A FORD DEALER TO TAKE THE TRUCK IN ON MONDAY. THE VEHICLE HAS ABOUT 43,000 MILES ON IT. AS I MENTIONED EARLIER, I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN THIS OCCURRED, SO, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION.

ON JANUARY 22 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:00 P.M., I STARTED MY TRUCK WITH THE REMOTE START, WHICH ACTIVATES THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, AS NEEDED. ON MY 20 MILE RIDE HOME FROM WORK, MOSTLY FREEWAY DRIVING, I HEARD CRACKLING NOISES, AND I WAS WATCHING IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, MY ENTIRE REAR WINDOW SHATTERING, EXCEPT FOR THE CENTER POWER SLIDING PIECE. WHEN I GOT HOME, PIECES OF GLASS FELL INSIDE THE CAB AND BED WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR IT. IN THE MEANTIME, I AM FORCED TO PAY $500 DEDUCTIBLE FOR MY INSURANCE TO REPAIR IT, EVEN THOUGH I HAD PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000 MILES ON IT NOW. RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM, I BELIEVE IT IS A DEFECT IN THE GLASS, CAUSING IT TO SHATTER WHEN THE DEFROSTER WARMS UP THE GLASS.

I HAVE A DUAL PORT 12 VOLT POWER ADAPTER THAT PLUGS IN THE 7 PIN PLUG TO RUN 12V ACCESSORIES LIKE A SMALL AIR COMPRESSOR ETC. WHEN LOOKING AT THE PLUG AT THE BACK OF THE TRUCK, THE NEGATIVE (-) IS AT THE 1 OCLOCK POSTION AND POSTIVE (+) IS AT THE 7 OCLOCK. I PUT A MULTI METER ON THOSE TRAILER PLUG PINS WITH THE TRUCK RUNNING AND NO POWER. ON THE DASH COMPUTER I ENTERED THAT I HAD MY TRAILER HOOKED UP AND STILL NO 12V AT THOSE TWO PINS. THE TURN SIGNALS (PINS AT 9 OCLOCK AND 3 OCLOCK RESPECTIVELY) AND RUNNING LIGHTS (PIN AT 5 OCLOCK) HAS 12V POWER.THE TECH CAME OUT WITH A SHOP MADE BOARD THEY HAVE FOR CHECKING TRAILER WIRING. WITH THE TRUCK RUNNING, TRAILER CONNECTED ON THE DASH AND EVEN ADDED A "NEW" TRAILER STILL NO POWER! HE PLUGGED IN THE SHOP COMPUTER AND COULD NOT SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. AT THAT TIME, THE SERVICE TECH PERFORMED A 'FACTORY-RESET' (HIS TERM) OF THE BATTERY. AFTER PERFORMING THE RESET ' I WAS CLEARED TO LEAVE DEALER AND I LEFT THE SERVICE AREA. (5)I THEN EXITED THE SERVICE COMPOUND. AFTER LEAVING THE SERVICE SHOP, MY TRUCK SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE SERVICE TECH TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO TRIGGER THE ERROR, BUT IT DID NOT COME BACK ON. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO LEAVE AND COME BACK WHEN THEY CAME BACK ON. I LEFT THE SERVICE AREA. (7)A SHORT TIME LATER, THE WARNINGS CAME BACK ON AND I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE CENTER. THIS TIME THE WARNING LIGHTS REMAINED ON AND MY TRUCK WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN FOR SERVICE.

PER MESSAGES OFF THE WEBSITE, FOUND THAT ALL WIRE HARNESSES IN FORD TRUCKS AND OTHER VEHICLES, HAVE A SOY COATING ON THEM THAT ATTRACTS RODENTS. TODAY WHEN I TURNED ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER IN MY 2012 FORD F150 THE INDICATOR LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. AFTER THREE OR FOUR TRIES IT CAME ON. WITHIN MINUTES I HEARD A POP AND THE GLASS ON PASSENGER SIDE OF THE REAR SLIDER POPPED. THE GLASS IS IN TACT BUT BROKEN.

2016 FORD F-150 2.7L ECOBOOST MODEL WITH ONLY 3,928 MILES. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME ENGINE HAS CUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING/ACCELERATING! WAS TAKING A LEFT TURN FROM SIDE ROAD ONTO MAIN ROAD. WHILE ACCELERATING IN THE TURN, ENGINE STARTED STUTTERING A FEW TIMES (RPMS WOULD DIP) AND THEN IT STALLED OUT. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE MY LEFT HAND TURN WITHOUT GETTING HITTING BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY. THIS TIME AROUND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART. HAD TO CALL FORD'S ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO GET TOWED TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THE LAST TWO INSTANCES THE DEALER COULD NOT PULL A CODE OR DIAGNOSE WHAT WAS WRONG SO NOTHING WAS DONE. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP HAS A DEAD TRUCK ON ARRIVAL SO THEY CAN'T TELL ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT (SERVICE AND DIAGNOSTICS HAS YET TO BE COMPLETED AT THE TIME OF THIS WRITING). I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH FORD REGIONAL REP REGARDING MY CASES AND I AM TOLD THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL THE DEALER CAN DIAGNOSE WHAT THE ROOT CAUSE IS. OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING IS WRONG. THERE ARE DOZENS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS OF ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 FORD F-150. THE DRIVER WAS ALERTED TO AN ABNORMAL BURNING ODOR. UPON INSPECTION, THE DRIVER OBSERVED FLAMES COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX OF THE VEHICLE. MINUTES LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE SALVAGE YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000.

VEHICLE LOOSES POWER WITHOUT WARNING DURING ROUTINE DRIVING AND CANNOT BE RECOVERED. WARNINGS ON DASHBOARD DISPLAY SHOW "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "HILL START ASSIST" ALONG WITH ALL ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS. PRESSING DOWN ON GAS PEDAL DOES NOTHING, MUST PULL OVER AND TURN OFF IGNITION AND TURN BACK ON TO RESTORE POWER. HAPPENS NUMEROUS TIMES AND RANDOMLY. WAS STOPPED AT RED LIGHT IN GREENSBORO NC. LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I STARTED TO DRIVE STRAIGHT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WHEN THERE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF THROTTLE RESPONSE. I HAD TO FINISH GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION BY MOMENTUM OF THE VEHICLE AND GRAVITY SINCE THERE WAS NO POWER. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE AT THE INTERSECTION OR I'M SURE I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. WAS TOLD BY LOCAL FORD DEALER, GREEN FORD, PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE "THROTTLE BODY". 2ND FORD VEHICLE I HAVE BEEN IN, IN LESS THAN A MONTH, THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED (2015 F150-SAME DEFECT - THROTTLE BODY). HUGE CONCERN FOR SAFETY OF THOSE OF US WHO DRIVE FORDS.

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE POWER STEERING, TURN SIGNALS, 4X4, AND LIGHTS WENT OUT. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM AFTER MULTIPLE SERVICE VISITS. THEY TOLD ME TO WAIT TILL IT GOES OUT AGAIN. MOST OF THE TIME, WHEN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES OUT, IT IS WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR. ONE TIME, THE SYSTEM WENT OUT WHILE I WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AND I NEARLY WRECKED THE VEHICLE.

DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, DOING ABOUT 60 TO 65 MPH, NOTICED THAT I WAS SLOWING DOWN SLIGHTLY, WENT TO GIVE IT MORE GAS, LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD AND REALIZED THAT THE ENGINE WASN'T ON (NO RPMS ON TACHOMETER). THE SCREEN ON THE DASHBOARD HAD A SERVICE WARNING FOR THE PARKING BRAKE WITH A LIGHTNING BOLT IDIOT LIGHT ON (NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS, DIDN'T GET THE CHANCE TO LOOK IN THE MANUAL). I DON'T KNOW IF THE POWER STEERING/BRAKES WENT OUT, SINCE I WAS MOVING FAST ENOUGH TO STEER FAIRLY EASILY, AND I'M STRONG ENOUGH TO PRESS A BRAKE PEDAL. AFTER I GOT IT PULLED OVER, I PUT IT IN PARK, TRIED TO START IT AGAIN, WASN'T ABLE TO. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, GOT A TOW TRUCK. NOTICE THE SCREEN THAT HAS STUFF LIKE CLOCK, TEMP, DATE, MEDIA INFO WAS STUCK AT THE TIME IT SHUTOFF. NO OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SEEMED TO WORK, I.E. POWER WINDOWS, EMERGENCY FLASHERS, IGNITION. WAS ALSO LOCKED IN PARK, COULDN'T GET IT INTO NEUTRAL FOR THE TOW TRUCK. AFTER IT GOT ONTO THE TOW TRUCK, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS FLASHED WHILE DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SERVICE IT, GOT TO DEALER AND WHEN IT CAME TIME TO GET IT OFF THE TRUCK, IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN, DIDN'T APPEAR TO HAVE ANY SERVICE MESSAGES SHOW UP. BRAND NEW TRUCK, ABOUT 1100 MILES ON IT, NO ACCIDENTS, NO OFF-ROADING, HAVEN'T EVEN CHANGED THE OIL YET, HAVEN'T TOUCHED ANYTHING UNDER THE HOOD BESIDES THE OIL DIPSTICK. AT THE DEALERSHIP, NOTHING SEEMED TO BE LOOSE UNDER THE HOOD (ELECTRICAL WISE). ATTACHED IS A PICTURE SIMILAR TO WHAT I SAW (AGAIN, 65 ON THE HIGHWAY, NOT REALLY AN IDEAL TIME FOR DOCUMENTATION).
