My truck driver door won’t latch,in cold weather. Like it won’t catch when I try close it less I lock it then it catch but won’t close all the way tell it warm up. Seem like whn it’s down in teens a single digits or below and windy. I’ve had it happen two times so far. Thank you
Back up camera is flickering and goes to a blue screen glitches multi colors.
Back up camera failure the day after I bought the truck from a dealership. With the vehicle lifted in the rear and the blind spots it has mirrors only do so much before you have to open the door while backing up just to make sure it’s good enough or you aren’t sticking out while parked. It hasn’t been professionally inspected. No lights but it started as a black screen with green lines and eventually turned to a bright blue screen that is blinding at night when trying to back up.
The Hood is peeling the clear coat. The upper cab on both drivers side and passengers side from front to back is down to bare metal. Top of the pickup box is down to the bare metal along both sides. Tailgate top is down to bare metal. These spots are clearly do to the prep and paint work.
LaFontaine Ford Birch Run MI falsified recalls on my 2016 f150. They claimed they were done, however i have had several other Ford dealers state that there is missing parts and it was obvious it was not completed. This recall is for my door cables freezing up making it unsafe for me to commute when cold. I have held my door shut all the way to work multiple times because it would not latch. Other ford dealers near me quoted me 2 thousand to fix both front doors. I reached out to Lafontaine myself, they seemed to have wanted to help right away but as soon as they heard more of the story they quickly began to not answer my calls. (Service managers).
Severe rust on frame, both sides. Mechanic refused to do service until rust situation is remediated. Said vehicle is unsafe to drive!
My rear view camera shows either a static rainbow screen while vehicle is in reverse. Or it shows a frozen faint image of what's behind my vehicle from the last time it was in reverse.
The rearview backup camera on my 2016 Ford F-150 began malfunctioning around July/August 2025. At first, the image would flicker briefly when the truck was shifted into reverse, but it would return to normal after a few seconds or days. After about a week, the issue became constant — the display now stays completely blue whenever the vehicle is in reverse and no rear image is visible. This failure eliminates all rear visibility when backing up and creates a serious safety risk, especially in parking lots or residential areas where pedestrians, pets, or objects may be behind the vehicle. The problem matches the description of Ford’s current backup camera recalls (including 23S23 and 24S59), but my vehicle’s VIN does not appear to be included in those campaigns. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent service center, but I plan to have it evaluated. The backup camera component remains available for inspection upon request. There were no warning lights, messages, or other indicators prior to or during the failure. Based on reports from other Ford F-150 owners, this appears to be a widespread issue involving the camera or wiring harness that results in a blue or blank screen. I am submitting this complaint to document the failure and safety concern, and to request review for possible recall expansion to include affected 2016 F-150 models. Photos of the blue screen and failure condition are available and can be provided for review upon request.
faulty backup camera - resulted in backing incident and tailgate damage. Reported backup camera malfunction to NHTSA in 2022 and emailed photo of camera defect, but multiple news articles about F150's being recently recalled for backup camera issued. These recalls do not include 2016 models to recall for updates and need to be added. Approximate cost of truck tailgate replacement $1500.
The voice recognition quit working on my Ford Sync. When I took it in for diagnosis, an update was attempted by the Ford dealer and wiped out my system, which means I have no back up camera, no radio, no USB ports, etc. I was told this is something I have to pay for to get repaired. The primary safety concern is, according to the dealer, the update cause the APIM module to fail, which means I no longer have a back up camera unless I pay for the repair.
At fifty six thousand miles, I had to replace the frame on the sunroof and the drain hose. We're not draining like they were supposed to.This is a real problem with these trucks. And everybody is having the same problem. This needs to be a recall. They need to rework the sunroof and replace it
My backup camera is not working, isn't that a safety feature? Every vehicle except mine is being recalled for the backup camera. I want it fixed as I have small grandchildren and I live in a park where there are small children riding their bikes. Thank you Sincerely [XXX] Just want to let you know I did contact Ford Motor Company and they basically told me I could pay to get it fixed because there is no recall on it. The back-up camera seems to only work in cold weather. This has been an on-going problem since 2019. This creates a safety issue when backing up as you cannot see directly behind the truck. The back-up camera seems to be a problem in other Ford models.
While trying to backup my rear view screen camera is black and flashing on and off so fast that I can’t gauge how close or far I am away from an object. Everything works ( radio, GPS, source and other things) with in the screen it self. But the problem is threatening to my safety. I ve tried to reset it by the recommendation of Ford but to no avail.
The rear backup camera has malfunctioned and it is not working.
When you put vehicle in reverse the back up camera has a blank screen
Dear Sir/Madam, I own a 2016 Ford F-150. Over the past few months the vehicle will suddenly hesitate and downshift while driving and the mechanics symbol will appear on the dashboard. This happened to me a few times. At the end of June I had two different mechanics look at the vehicle and both kept the truck for a couple of days and drove it around and neither one could see a problem. I drove the vehicle from Rhode Island to Pennsylvania and this happened 4 times during the trip driving on the highway!!!! It then happened again (with a witness in the vehicle) while driving. I could have been killed driving 70 mph on the highway during these times that the vehicle hesitated and downshifted. I researched possible recalls that I might have missed and learned of the investigation into by NHTSA by other consumers and I contacted Ford. When I spoke to Ford and filed my complaint I let them know I knew about the investigation by NHTSA and told them I could have been killed. It has been two weeks and I have yet to hear from them. I would like my vehicle repaired free of charge. We paid thousands of dollars for that truck and since this is a safety issue it should be recalled. Please contact me if you have any other questions. Thank you. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2016 F150, 6R80 Transmission - threw codes P0720 and P0722, dealer indicated known issue under recall 24S37, but my VIN is not included, but should be. Unexpected downshift to first gear, check engine light, truck enters "limp" mode, only allowing 3rd and 5th gear - real safety issue - especially if Ford knows it has a fix - although parts are in short supply (molded lead frame)
I was going to pass someone and as I was speeding up the check engine light came on. I pulled over and there was nothing wrong with the truck. Months later there was a warning that came up on the dash it said something about shifting and i was to park the truck. I took it to a transmission shop, come to find out that the shifting sensor had went out. They cleared the check engine light and it came back on. Ran a diagnostic on it and it said there was like 8 different things that needs to be fixed. There was Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold, Air Distribution Damper Position Sensor- Circuit Short to Ground or Open, Bank 1 Air/Fuel Ration Imbalance, Sensor Circuit, Internal Control Module Torque Performance, Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 1). When I am at a certain speed the truck will vibrate (feels like you have ran over the rubber strips on the road), if I accelerate and the passing gear kicks in there is a strange sound coming from under the truck. I dontfell like this should be put off on me. I have had alot of people saying that they are having the same issues I am having.
The transmission had to be replaced. I knew something was wrong because the truck was lunging. I took it to the garage and the mechanic said not to worry because everything looked great. I was pulling down a tree and the transmission stopped working. I had to get the transmission replaced.
I went for an oil change, tire rotation, etc at the dealer on 6/9/25 and was told that my frame had rust damage/holes and would not pass inspection this coming December. Went to Ziebart on 6/11/25 and they confirmed multiple hole/rust damage on frame which needed repair. They were perplexed as no problem was seen at my last yearly check of the rust protection in July of 2024. Also, no mention of a potential problem was found at my last vehicle inspection in December of 2024. How does this kind of damage occur in 6 months? I'm reading on-line that this is an issue with Ford F-150s, but no recall?
After passing a car on a two lane highway 120 miles from home a wrench light came on and the transmission got stuck in 5th gear. We pulled over, stopped the truck and then it got stuck in 3rd gear and then the check engine light came on. The truck then proceeded to on into limp mode. At that point with the transmission clunking we and the truck shutting down we didn't feel safe driving the vehicle to our weekend destination nor did we feel safe driving it home as we had no idea if the transmission would completely fail. These were two lanes roads with not much shoulder and steep cliffs along the road in many areas and it was very unpopulated so any number of things could have happened to put us at risk. We had the truck towed 120 mileshome and taken to the nearest Ford Dealership, which was Larry H Miller Ford in Mesa, Arizona. The wrench and check engine light did go off but the service center was able to find the codes when they checked and it was determined to be lead frame failure. They removed and replaced the lead frame. There was no warning or codes prior to this happening - only on the day it happened.
2016 Ford F-150 XLT panoramic sunroof rails damaged not adhered to truck properly and water leaking into Vehicle. excessive water damage from faulty Sunroof. Danger of separation from roof and breaking and flying off.
Engine failure at 90,000 miles Services all done at ford dealership yet the engine still didn’t work somehow. Wheel bearing at 100,000 failing causing rattling of wheels
2016 Ford F-150 pickup has no backup camera or front camera. Resets have done nothing. Defective module, camera wiring or camera itself has to be defective. I heard the 2015 model Ford pickups have a recall associated with this problem.
Backup camera only works intermittently. Half the time it only shows a "white square with a truck icon" instead of the actual view.
When traveling at around 70-75 mph the vehicle will downshift to 5th gear and vehicle speed drops as well, without warning. This causes the vehicle to not want to excel until it comes to a complete stop or turns off and then turns back on.
My moon roof is stuck closed. It will not open and makes a cracking noise if I press the button to try and open it.
Passenger door will not latch and close on 2016 Ford F-150 after snow storm. While the vehicle was parked, the front passenger's side door latch failed to latch as intended. We discovered the issue when we were trying to leave our house during the extremely cold freezing weather. The door had to be manually held closed when traveling a short distance. We were able to get it latched to drive on the interstate to church, but then it failed to latch after coming out of church service, when we had to hold it closed manually for a short distance. We then had to use rope to keep the door shut by securing it to another door on the opposite side while traveling back on the interstate to get home. The truck has not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.
I have a recall that claims to be completed on my truck, but two dealerships claim that it is not done with photo evidence. I would like this recall addressed properly as i am not trying to pay two thousand dollars out of pocket for just the driver and passenger doors. This recall is on my 2016 F150 . This is a door latch problem on all 4 doors. I noticed this when winter came around and my driver door latch/cable would freeze. I drove to work multiple times holding my door shut. I have been trying to get this resolved for the past 3 months and i keep getting a different answer from everyone i have reached out to including poor customer service. This is unacceptable and i certainly wont be purchasing a ford ever again.
Passenger side door lock actuator goes in and out. Sometimes the door will open sometimes it won’t. One time the door opened by it self while driving. I don’t know if it’s a short or what’s going on with it but it seems to be a problem with other ford owners as well.
Due to the freezing (around 20 degrees F) temperatures, the latch of the front-driver’s side door was frozen and was unable to close. The door would initially open, but any attempt to close it afterwards became unsuccessful.
I NEED TO REPORT FAILURE FIXING MY CAR RECALL NAMED *Faulty door Latch HARVARD FORD TEXTED ME TO RAKE MY CAR TO GET DONE BUT THEY DID A BAD JOB REPAIR INSTEAD OF REPLACE RECALL PART THEY DIDNT THEY DID CUT OUT WIRE HARNESS INSTEAD .Therefore THAT DAMAGED TYE AUTO NOW REVERSE CAM SCREEN IS NOT WORKING .TYE DOORS OPEN ITSELF WHILE IM DRIVING IT .DASH Board IS NOT ALSO WORKING IM FILLING A COMPLAINT AGAINST HARVARD FORD DEALERSHIP THE SOLUTION zI need is the following they need to REPLACE ALL COMPLETE NEW WIRE HARNESS ASAP.ALDI NEW REVERSE CAM AND SCREEN .IM ATTACHED ALL PROOF OF THE DAMAGE ..
Sunroof rails broke for the second time, and the sunroof will not close on the drivers side. This problem is putting extra pressure on the glass since it isn’t seated properly. Water also leaks in during rain storms and has caused electrical issues. I can now only drive this $95,000 vehicle in good weather.
Substantial amount of water coming in through rear windshield/rear sliding glass windshield door, causing mold.
I have a 2016 Ford F-150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost engine with 92,019 miles. This morning (9/11/2024) as I headed to work, I pulled out to cross highway 54 and the truck suddenly lost power. It would only idle. As I tried pushing harder on the gas pedal, it would not come out of an idle and I barely made it to the center divide with multiple vehicles headed right at my drivers side going 65 - 70 mph. The check engine came on and stayed on. The truck was shaking and vibrating tremendously. I could not leave the truck there as it was blocking traffic in both directions. I was able to back up and cross back over the highway and pulled to the shoulder. I turned the truck off and started to make a call for AAA when I received a notification from my Bouncie. It threw a P2112 code throttle actuator “A” control system - stuck closed. After letting the truck sit for a couple minutes, I started it back up and was able to make it home.
Driver side door some times will not close and have to lock and unlock the door to get it to close, and transmission is making hard gear changes.....
This has happened on four separate occasions. When driving, we suddenly get a warning about hill assist, immediately followed by a warning about stability control, immediately followed by the check engine wrench light. At the exact same time, vehicle shakes very hard and loses acceleration, almost like the connection between the pedal and the engine was cut. Today, we were going about 70mph on the freeway when it happened, and all we could do was put the hazards on and let it roll in neutral. Luckily, we found a bit of shoulder to pull off on. Everyone was in danger because we lost the engine at speed. I'm scared to imagine what would have happened going up an incline. On each of these occasions, turning everything off, waiting, and then turning it back on was what it took for it to be drivable again. We have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they either sell us a 'fix' that doesn't work, or they tell us nothing is wrong with it. Looking at forums online, this problem seems to be one many people have experienced. None of them have found a solution. They suggest problems with wheel sensors and traction control systems. No one has gotten any answers from Ford. It looks like another manufacturer had a suit filed against them for the same problem. Either way, Ford is knowingly letting people drive around with vehicles that can lose engine acceleration power at any time, anywhere. We could have died today, and realistically, us and everyone around us are at risk of injury or death every time we drive this thing. We can't get any answers, and Ford dealership either can't or won't help.
During the scheduled oil change service on 8/15/2024, I was informed that wheel lug nuts were swollen and tire rotation and inspection were not completed, even though I paid for a maintenance package. I replaced the lug nut two years ago for the same issue, and this will be my 3rd time replacing lug nuts on the vehicle.
Exhaust manifold broken studs(bolds) causing exhaust fumes in cab. Carbon monoxide and also loss of performance. This is an ongoing issue with the 3.5 L equal boost motors. Pre 2017. The 2017 motor and further have been redesigned. Why aren’t they doing a recall on pre 2017?
Nothing wrong
Got into vehicle and before starting window just shattered. No issues prior with the rear window just random and for no apparent reason it shattered from inside out.
take your truck to a ford dealer to see if they car refresh or reprogram the tcm for the transmission shudder witch is being caused by the torque converter if they can’t refresh or reprogram your truck will need a new torque converter.
2016 Ford F150 Platinum 5.0L V8 with automatic 6R80 transmission. Erratic gear shifting while driving. Sometimes not getting out of/stuck in 3rd gear and sometimes not downshifting below 3rd gear. Orange wrench or illuminated MIL light came on followed by a solid check engine light. Took it to dealership - DTC P0720 and P0722 appeared. Dealership tech states that he reprogrammed the PCM and output shaft speed sensor, and that the next step is to drive it and see how it does and if it didn’t fix the problem then he will have to change the molded leadframe. This issue is exactly the same issue as the customer satisfaction program 19N01. The safety concern is I don’t want to drive it around, waiting for the leadframe to fail one day while I’m driving down the freeway with my family in 6th gear and have the truck shift abruptly to 3rd or 1st gear and lose control. This issue is exactly like the 19N01 with the same 6R80 transmission.
The rear window adhesion has failed causing the rear sliding glass window to fall into passenger area.
Catalytic Converters have failed for second time. [XXX] original catalytic converters failed at 48060 mileage and Ford replaced under warranty including the assembly. [XXX] replacement catalytic converters failed again at 92830 mileage. Neither the original or replacement converters were working at 50,000 miles or reached the National emission warranty of 80,000 miles. Reduced fuel mileage by 30% has been identified. Karl Flammer Ford 41975 US 19 North Tarpon Springs FL 34689 indicates no Ford programs cover $4000 plus repair. Ford Customer Affairs POBox 6248 Dearborn MI 48126 [XXX] responded no programs cover this repair and they work with NHTSA on consumer concerns. The Catalytic Converters shouldn’t fail at low mileage in a Ford F150 especially twice with reduced fuel usage. As a senior, a $4000. plus repair is a hardship for an equipment failure that should be either identified for recall or identified as a lemon. The driver door latch froze during cold outside temperatures and the door would not latch closed. I had to drive while holding my door closed with my hand. This is extremely dangerous. This is a known recall from Ford and the repair was already performed. This happened 2 days in a row. Tomorrow I will be contacting Ford for a solution.
* What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? (Exhaust manifold. yes.) * How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? (Risk of Fire, reduced engine performance and reduce vehicle's ability to respond promptly to driver inputs, Squealing sound causing distracting driver, Carbon monoxide exposure causing others put at risk.) * Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? (This is first time I got issue but I see a lot of people reported that the exhaust manifold is the common issue for not just Ford F-150 but also any Ford eco-boost vehicles.) * Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? (Inspected by mechanics) * Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? (No engine light came out for this issue. Sound appear all of the sudden.) Warped exhaust manifold is common issue for Ford eco-boost model. Air is leaking through there causing the squealing sound while accelerate vehicle.
The trucks horn and hazard lights contiunsley goes off anytime it rains. We can be driving down the road and the truck will start going haywire, lights flashing horn won't shut off . There's been times when the truck itself wouldn't turn off even after removing the key . It's very bad wiring problem with this truck.
The frame on this truck broke. The frame tore in a manner that the lower control arm became disconnected from the vehicle. I recognize that l live in an area where rust issues are real, however l am also very experienced with metal working and fabrication and can reliably assure that corrosion is not the cause of this failure in the frame of this vehicle. I have attached 4 photos, those are of the front & back of passenger side (good) and driver's side (bad). Note the broken bolt head (toward the front) and the broken frame. This is the actual frame that broke and not a bolted on subframe and to me this is a serious issue. There are so many of these trucks on the roads l feel that l am obligated to make you aware of the problem. I thank you for your time.
The rear window shattered spontaneously after using remote start. Problem has been reported a lot with 2015 and newer F150 trucks.
While driving the truck it suddenly and randomly loses power. Pushing on the gas pedal no longer makes the truck go. You have to coast to a safe spot, brake and turn the truck off, then restart it for it to start working again. The truck has a jolting motion to it when it loses power and until it is shut off. The truck has several indicator lights flashing like a wrench and something about hill assist not functioning. The truck sometimes has trouble starting after it loses power. Safety concerns are if this happens while trying to turn and there is on coming traffic you could get T-boned. If you are unable to pull over on the side of the road to restart the truck, then you risk being stopped in traffic and being hit from behind. This has happened on 3 occasions and happens randomly without warning. It has happened twice in one day. The truck has been to two shops who are unable to reproduce it and unable to find the problem. On-line forums lead me to think it is the electronic throttle body. A previous recall for this was 16B32. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by insurance company or police. The truck has three appointments with 2 different ford dealerships and one independent auto shop coming up for further inspection.
The back-up camera on my 2016 Ford F150 does not work after the Sun has been shinning on it for a while and it gets hot. At night or when or when the camera is cool it will work. The problem started sometime in 2019. I have not reported it to a Ford Dealer. I have a Co-worker who has a 2016 Ford Mustang with the same problem.
Ford's aluminum lug nut caps are swollen and distorted. Ford put aluminum caps over a steel core which is causing the problem.
Rear Window Keeps Shattering 2016 F150 King Ranch have already replaced once now about couple weeks later did it again this is my fathers truck and he’s almost 70 Years old and scared him !! This is a problem I called Ford and no help .. Need to stand behind their product!!! Not fair for him to keep paying..
Warped exhaust manifold
rear window shattered after use of Defrost. Smell of burning wires/plastic immediately before. looks like a burn spot at window base, last photo with white smudge
My 2016 F150 moon roof track broke with 61k miles on it… it left my moon roof jammed open for rain and snow to enter my vehicle. After further research it appears that this is a common problem for this design. A ford dealer quoted me 4k to fix….If this does not qualify for a recall i have no idea what will. Please help all of us and make this a recall.

Panarama roof/front windshield leaks water. It sometimes drips through the dash and the electronics and may start to affect systems. This item has been addressed two times by the dealer, but the problem persists. Repaired 8/23/19, 3/30/19. Problem persists today. The truck is out of warranty now dealer will no longer address without Ford corporate involvement.
The trucks box frame is completely rusted. The truck is 6 years old, only been in Florida and has 36k miles. The safety of this vehicle is compromised and this matter is urgent.
There has been 3 times I have noticed my hood being partially open before driving out of the garage from a parked position. I had to push the hood back into locked position. So far I have not experienced this when driving which is a BIG concern to me. I do not drive my truck much after buying new in 2016 November. As of today my truck has 28,437.0 miles.
While driving on the highway at highway speeds 70 mph the truck automatically shifted from 6th Gear to first gear nearly throwing me through the windshield. It went back in the regular gear and started driving fine within a couple of weeks it got to where it would shift erratically all the time and not start half the time at this point it will not start at all.the gear indicator light does not illuminate. The computer cant recognize what gear it is in. I spoke with a Ford representative there was a recall for 153,000 vehicles with the same problem but mine was not one of them. Upon looking into it further I found nearly 300 other drivers with the same exact issue. Later calling the Ford dealership to get parts to repair the transmission I was laughed at and told he has seven of those trucks waiting for the parts to fix them on his lot now. I spoke with a different Ford dealership that gentleman told me he cannot get them parts to repair them either even though the computer is showing that there's over 70,000 of those parts in a warehouse and that Ford was holding on to them like gold and no one could get them not even at dealership. There are many People on forums complaining about the issues and dealerships telling me they have trucks there with the same issues and no one can get parts... seems to me that there is a major issue with these Transmissions. One forum a gentleman stated that he changed the lead frame in the transmission and that was the entire problem. Any help from your offices great appreciate it by all the owners, myself included. I have been in the loyal Ford owner of my entire life and cannot believe how treating their customers! Thank you
Transmission stuck in 1st gear, 3rd gear, or unable to shift and total loss of power after sudden braking to stop. This has happened over 6-8 times in my time of ownership. Starting between early 2021-2022. Vehicle currently has 76000 miles. Temporary resolution was to turn vehicle off and back on again. There have been reports that sometimes that does not work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ng3HJdyyoM
This report is for a k own recall for “unintended tailgate release”. This report s Ford’s recall 21M06. The recall has been made. For reports estimated time to complete of 1/2 day. Dealership reports that the “fix” will require 158 steps and at least one week. The dealership says that Ford will not pay for car rental during the 7-10 business day repair period. There is no incentive to repair this at a high cost (the car rental) to the end customer. This has previously been reported as ODI#11502257—request #590798. I simply want to supplement the previous report by clarifying that there already is a recall in place; but a with a major differences in view of Ford vs. dealership as to the time-to-complete. Under the expectation of 7-10 days to fix, Ford should pay for car rental. I corresponded with Ford about this on December 12, 2022 but Ford has not responded at all.
Over a year ago Ford announced a recall because of unintended back tailgate release. At that time there was no solution. In December 2022 Ford announced a solution, and requested owners to schedule an appointment for a fix that would take no longer than 1/2 day. The tail gate has indeed opened unintended 4 times, including once on CO Hwy 285; presenting a serious hazard as I lost half the load on a winding mountain road. When I attempted to schedule an appointment at Auto Nation Ford to fix, they could not get me scheduled until March 14, 2023, that the repair would take at least one week because of 158 steps involved. I was also told that Ford would not cover the cost of a rental vehicle while the F-150 is in for repair. I sent a letter to Ford (available on request) over a month ago, but I have received no response. This is a major safety issue. I have also had damage to the tailgate caused by unintended release in the garage. Gone unnoticed until I opened the garage door. By unknowingly opening the garage door I have scraped the tailgate. Ford is clueless. Their dealers have no campaign code as they call it. When they research the campaign number given in the recall notice, they don’t want to have anything to do with it. I’ve asked Ford to find a dealer that will fix the vehicle during the prescribed timeframe to no avail. I have asked Ford for relief by finding a Dealer to fix under recall warranty and to pay for vehicle rental during the elongated repair period.
Both rear door locks will not open while door lock is pushed down. You have to physically lift the door lock up to open the door. Normally you just pull the handle to open the door and the locks will pop up like the front ones. For some reason the child door locks cause this mechanism to break and not work even with the child door locks off. Fighting now to get a locks replaced but out of warranty.
Driving home form work I started getting an exhaust smell, kept driving and once I came to a complete stop at a light my entire cabin filled with exhaust white/blue smoke. I pulled over to check it out, opened the hood and the exhaust was coming from the back of the engine. A wrecker driver pulled up behind my truck, got out with his fire extinguisher for safety. He is the one who told me to look into the manifolds warping or the bolts breaking. The wrecker driver said the smoke in the cabin is carbon monoxide and not to transport and small children. The rest of the day, I had severe headaches. I took it to a shop and they have told me I will need new manifolds and gaskets and potentially a few other gaskets when removing the turbos. They also said this could have damaged my turbos and may lead to other exhaust issues, vehicle performance issues and definitely will not let my vehicle pass the emissions test in Texas. This appears to be a Ford design flaw and hopefully a nation wide recall can be implemented. The shop also recommended not to drive it because the cabin filled with smoke or rather a cabin full of carbon monoxide. This could cost me over $5000.00 to replace all part. Something needs to be done by FORD to fix this issue. I will have to find a way to pay for this as having a vehicle to and from work is necessary. My daily round trip to and from work is 80 miles.
On the morning of 12/16/22 while commuting to work, the rear window randomly shattered (an extremely loud bang). It almost looks like it exploded from the inside out (bulging out). There was no apparent contact by rocks or any known previous cracks or chips in the window. It was a cold morning, and the defrosters were on (rarely used in Louisiana)- that's the only thing unusual related to the rear window going on at the time.
While driving at speed 55+\- mph the truck shifted into “limp in mode” causing a quick deceleration event. This happened on two different occasions. The 3rd time it happened I was slowing to pull into a filling station so the deceleration wasn’t as harsh. All times when this happened the “wrench” warning light came on after 10 or so seconds and the truck was back to running normal. The 3rd occurance at the filling station left me dead in the water, had to have AAA tow me to New Legacy Ford in Dushore Pa 18614. If the roads would have been wet an accident would possibly have occurred.
I have had two problems worked on by my dealer and neither of them were fixed. The first problem is a leaky oil pan which they attempted to repair the leak 3 times but it still leaks. This may not be a safety recall but I do feel like it is a hazard and I would bet there are probably 1/2 of the 2015-2017 Ford F150 owners with the 2.7 engine with the same problem. If nothing else I would say this is a environmental issue. The second problem I have reported to my dealer is the very poor vision with the back up camera at night. I had to leave my vehicle with the dealer overnight to have the problem looked at but they were not able to fix the problem and did say the night vision is not good.
I am writing because I had the 3 recalls on my vehicle repaired 3 years ago but the dealership apparently may not have completed these because I just received a letter from Ford stating a quality audit discovered it may not have been done. Your website states they are incomplete which is beyond frustrating. I had to go through a lot just to get the dealership to work with me to give me a loaner car in order to get them done. Now I may have been driving around for 3 years in a vehicle I thought was fixed which could still injure me.
Truck misfired at intersection. Had to restart. Happens often after oil change with couple hundred miles on. Truck has been in repair shop once already for same issue from previous owner. Bank 2 IACV selonoid.
Both Exhaust manifolds warped, broken rear exhaust studs, exhaust leaking into passenger compartment. This is a known issue with this engine and ford has a TSB for the transit with the same engine to replace the manifolds with a newer version.
The throttle body caused the vehicle to post a Hill start assist not available, service advance trac and service light to display on dashboard on two separate occasions. Each time the vehicle lost almost all forward propulsion. On one occasion it happened on 4 lane highway and almost resulted in a serious accident. The other time (first time) it caused me to block a lane of traffic on a busy 2 lane road. The vehicle was able to restart each time after a brief amount of time with no check engine of service light displayed. The fact that it restarted without any service indication prompted me to drive it again, which almost resulted in a serious accident. I took the vehicle to the dealer and he indicated it was a faulty throttle body. The throttle body problem does have a TSB issued (TSB 16-0139). How this is simply a TSB and not a safety recall does not make sense. This is a well known problem and well reported in different forums on the internet.
The truck will die at alight or stop after been driven for about 25 mins.rpm’s also go down u set 500.
On 4/9/2020 the F150 was taken to Crossroads Ford of Dunn-Benson because the vehicle would suddenly shut off while in motion, this included pulling out of traffic or truck would lose power and/or lose power while in motion leaving my husband having to manipulate the vehicle to get out of oncoming traffic. This would occur back to back and as many as 11 times before he would find a place to pull off safely. After the throttle body and gasket was replaced, the vehicle repeated the same actions on: 2/19/202, 8/31/202, and 9/12/2022. Each time the part was replaced. We ended up paying out of pocket for the 1st repair and last repair. This is very dangerous and it appears that the parts aren't the problem.
Rear glass window spontaneously shattered. Sounded like a big boom. then smelled burning. Turned on rear defrost prior to driving.
I was driving on the highway when my door came open. Now the door will not close.
I recently took my truck in for a recall repair. They took care of the recall problem but was also suppose to look at the rattling (chirping) noise coming from front driver side wheel well. Cant remember mileage on truck when that was fixed. But im almost sure it was b4 80k was reached. My question is im doin research and there is a problem that ford is suppose to repair this issue if stated b4 80k miles or 10 yrs. Im just now seeing this and ive just surpassed 80k miles. Well they had said there were no issues. It was a ford thing. So i figured they knew whats best. Well. Id like my truck fixed if still possible because it is an emission issue. What can b done. Thank you
Front wheel hubs grinding
I use only Ford dealers for maintenance. I just took my 2016 Ford F150 in for an oil change and a tire rotation. The work order states the lug nuts cannot be removed because they are swollen. This is a well known problem with Ford Lug nuts. I had to pay to have all the lug nuts replaced on another Ford I own. Several lawsuits have been filed against Ford, their legal team has beaten these. There are actions against Ford in 7 states. Why not order Ford to replace swollen lug nuts at their own expense. If a Ford gets a flat tire, the lug nuts cannot be removed with a Ford lug nut wrench or any standard lug nut wrench. How is this permitted to exist? Why doesn't Ford stop using these lug nuts and sell lug nuts that don't fail?
2016 F150 on interstate at speed a pop heard and all acceleration stopped suddenly and would not move forward. No warning lamps, no messages before this dangerous event. Had to unsafely cross 2 lanes of interstate traffic with no acceleration until unsafely stopped on shoulder. Horns blared, tires screeched for semis and interstate traffic to avoid striking me. On inspection and confirmation by Ford dealer service, rear differential found shattered metal inside with fracture causing truck to completely stop without warning. Severe safety failure and malfunction easily leading to death and destruction was the result while driving abruptly interrupted on interstate. Collision with loss of property and life was narrowly avoided and should not have happened in a less than 6yr old, 60K mile truck.
My sliding rear window shattered while having the rear defrost on for the second time in two years. This time my son was rear-facing in his car seat while it happened. There were no warnings. My ears hurt and I've had a headache since and hope my son isn't experiencing the same. This is an extreme safety issue.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled and the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. Several unknown warning lights illuminated and remained illuminated. The contact stated that he attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to restart. Additionally, the contact stated after the vehicle had been parked for a while, he was able to restart the vehicle but the failure recurred. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was currently being towed to the dealer. The vehicle had not yet been diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

We discovered water in the glove compartment after rain. The passengers identified headliner has clearly had water issues prior to our purchase of this vehicle used. We applied silicone caulking to the top, passenger side windshield. After further rains, the water seems to be collecting under the dashboard and spills out when turns are made or velocity changes. Further silicone caulking of the windshield may be preventing leakage, but we are not fully assured of that.
The rearmost exhaust manifold bolts have broken due to poor design. This will significantly increase the risk of exhaust fumes collecting in the engine and passenger compartments
Downshifting while I was driving happened without warning. Besides the gear switch, I noticed problems with the speedometer, erratic gear shifting, and the transmission stuck in one gear. I could have caused a major accident by the vehicle as I was at moderately high speed in motion when the vehicle began to fail. I did also bang my head on the steering wheel when the truck began to decelerate on its own! Mechanics told me it was a problem with the OOS (Output Speed Shaft Sensor). I could have got in a major accident had I not had a quick reaction to the truck automatically downshifting while at a high rate of speed. There is currently NO recalls for the 2016 F-150 model however, I did research and found that there are issues recalls for this VERY same problem for older F-150 models. This is an incredibly dangerous problem. My truck at this time only has 66,000 miles. Not very many miles on it for a 2016 to have this type of issue. Major research needed to get this resolved asap! People’s lives are at stake with this truck!
Vehicle transmission/drive train shifted into neutral and dash flashed Service AdvanceTrac & Hill Decent Control Fault warnings while traveling on highway at 70 MPH towing trailer. No advanced warning of issue or warning of power loss. Transmission shift controls had no control of power train. Engine appeared to go into idle mode. This system fault placed the safety of vehicle driver, passengers and nearby vehicles at high risk. Luckily vehicle was topping a rise and gravity maintained speed to coast to shoulder of busy highway. And there was a shoulder on the highway. Turned off vehicle, restarted and appears to be operating normally. Waiting for dealer service to diagnose vehicle.
I remote started my vehicle this morning and when I went out to get in my truck, I noticed smoke in the cab and a burning smell, as if an electrical issue. After investigating, I found my entire rear window was shattered. Apparently when using the remote start it engages the rear window defroster. It appears to have been the reason for the window shattering.?.? I always remote start my vehicle during the cold months and never experienced this before. No warning messages or anything. After researching, found this exact situation seems to be happening for my make and model with no recall in place yet.
The rear power door locks freeze and won't latch in cold temperatures 15-20 degrees F, unable to keep the doors closed, cannot operate the truck safely. The power lock assembly fail to respond in freezing cold weather.
My door latch wouldn't close in the cold. And then it opened on the highway one day without me doing anything
Revision of 11448462 filed on 1/23/22 My wife and I were driving to our house in our 2016 Ford F150 and were approaching the final turn into our subdivision. When approaching our road to turn, I turned my directional signals on to show that I was turning left and was slowing down. Also, there was a line of cars behind me. I immediately saw that my turn signals were not working, and were not aware that I was turning left, and continued going straight to ensure that the cars behind me did not ram me in the rear. As soon as I could, I pulled the truck off the right side of the road into a small drainage ditch. No damage to the truck at that time. Electrical components failed; My safety and my wife's safety were put at risk. This problem with the turn signals has been noted by Woody Anderson Ford, Huntsville Al. My truck, after we arrived home, sat in our driveway for approximately a week while I went through my Ford User Manual and several repair manuals looking for the problem. I did not find any reference to that specific problem. However, during that week, while sitting in the driveway, the truck continued to develop more problems, specifically the engine developed problems that would not allow it to run, and the transmission locked- preventing the wheels to roll. The truck is now at Woody Anderson Ford, Huntsville, Ala. .As of this last Friday, at $ 100 an hour for diagagonise. They have told me that the truck is probably unfixable. These two faults, If they had happed to the truck while we had been driving, would probably have killed all occupants of the truck, and anyone that we might have hit would be in the same condition. Please look at your records and the number of the same year and equipped trucks are on the road and are a safety risk.
The emission system, faulty exhaust manifold warped with broken exhaust studs breaking
It is now winter and frequently experience temperatures below 10 degrees F. The rear driver side door power lock will not work (will not lock / unlock) when activated by key fob or by pressing button on door. All other doors will lock / unlock as normal. When the plunger is pushed or pulled on the affected door, it will then lock / unlock.
While driving, I applied the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. I received a low brake fluid warning. I checked and there was almost no fluid in the master cylinder. It was determined that the master cylinder rear seal had failed. The brake fluid had leaked into the brake booster, which failed. I was driving on the interstate when the brakes failed suddenly and without warning. The vehicle is now at the Ford dealer for repair and they have confirmed the failure of the seal in the master cylinder. I am aware of a prior recall on this issue #20S31 - but the dealer informs me that my VIN # is not part of the recalled vehicle group. However, my sudden failure is exactly what the subject of the prior recall covered. I have the exact model and engine as was involved in the recall.
THE REAR WINDOW (NON SLIDING) IS SEVERELY LEAKING DURING HARD RAIN AND WHEN GOING THRU A CAR WASH. THE HEADLINER IS SOAKED AND THIS COULD BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE PROBLEM COULD CAUSE MILDEW AND MOLD UNDER THE HEADLINER WHICH COULD CAUSE BREATHING PROBLEMS TO INFANTS AND TODDLERS RIDING IN CAR SAFETY SEATS AS WELL AS OTHER PASSENGERS RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. i WOULD EXPECT FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO RECALL AND REPAIR ALL FORDS THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM.
12/13/2016 Rear window shattered without cause.
Panoramic roof sliding mechanism braking once send to ford dealer got repaired and it broke again. Had a previous f150 just a year older 2015 had exactly the same issues thus meaning there’s definitely something wrong with this glass rooftops!
I was driving down the road when the rear window shattered. It looks like it blew outward. I was not using the rear defroster, nor were there any other vehicles that could have thrown a rock.
The vehicle is beginning to suddenly lose power during driving as if it was shifted into neutral. This happens most days lately and is unsafe because my vehicle suddenly slows down without warning. I have full electrical and engine power, but the transmission seems to act as if I've shifted into neutral. I believe the problem to be electrical because the transmission temperature, feel, and sound are fine, and because I noticed that sometimes the gear indicator on my dashboard goes blank. It's as if the transmission loses track of what gear it is supposed to be in.
On the highway towing a trailer. At stop light truck suddenly dies. Did not notice it died, pressed gas and nothing. Put the truck in park, restarted truck and everything went back to normal. This happened three times alreand all the times it happened was when i was towing and at stop light after an hour or more of driving. This is ver intermittent issue. I have not taken it to dealer as i dont think they can replicate it. dy a
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? While parked, the rear defrost button was engaged. Shortly afterwards (1-2min) the backseat filled with smoke. I had my family immediately exit the vehicle and the rear window exploded. I checked the area and found an electrical wire draped over the rear passenger seat. It was melted and had clearly exploded up and over the seat. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Yes, had my children remained in the vehicle, they would have been sprayed with glass or burned from the electrical short. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, however, I looked online and found this has happened to others. I called Ford service center and they informed me their were no recalls out on the truck. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. However, Glass doctor performed the repair since Ford outsources their glass repair work Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle began to shake and lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over and restart the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that there were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed but not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

I just purchased the vehicle, used, from Lithia Hyundai in Fresno, CA, two months ago. On my first trip to the lake hauling a boat in tow haul mode my check engine light came on. As soon as I got back I took it to the Lithia Ford Dealership in Fresno, CA to get it checked as I had also purchased the extended warranty on it. They found that the Turbo needed to be replaced, which was covered under the warranty. As they were fixing the turbo they found that it also had a warped exhaust manifold and broken bolt. The warranty is refusing to cover this as they say they DO NOT cover bolts and since the bolt broke (which they claim) and caused the manifold to warp they won't cover it. In doing my research, I am finding out that this is a very common issue with the 3.5 liter ecoboost and I feel that this should become a recall item. if the exhaust were to leak into the cab, that is a definite safety hazard and should be looked into. Why are the bolts breaking, and why are so many exhaust manifolds warping in the F-150s? It is still currently in the shop and I am fighting with both the shop and the warranty to get it fixed since it should be covered under my bumper to bumper warranty.
Was driving about 60mph when I had sudden loss of power and vehicle RPMS shot up to 5000+ RPMS and gear selection indicator on dash started flashing 1st gear. No the vehicle was not in manual mode. This has happened several times before.
My truck recently has begun to go into limp mode, the engine loses 98% power and runs so rough it shakes. This has happened multiple times at highway speeds in heavy traffic leaving me and passengers very vulnerable to a rear end collision. The first couple of times by shutting the engine off it allows me to reset the Hill descent fault and service advance trac warning. The truck would return to normal operations. Today (8/30/2021) after multiple shut downs in a 5 mile trip the check engine light came on too. I have scheduled a appointment at Middleton Ford in Middleton WI. for September 9th (the soonest available) The truck will be dropped off on Thursday (9/1/2021). Thank You for all you do! UNKNOWN Gas mileage has plummeted from 19mpg highway/city Down to 12.5mpg Highway/City Hard starting is random so Very Hard to Catch for Auto Mechanics, new spark plugs, No Check Engine Lights, Multiple Mechanics both Dealership and 3rd Party cannot find anything wrong with the truck Fuel pump tested and is fine, O2 sensor either working properly or not telling the computer something is wrong Gas Mileage suddenly plummeted with no reason, nothing is telling the computer anything is wrong and nobody can find out why my gas mileage has plummeted so drastically with No Signs of Bad or Faulty Parts
I turned my defrost on in my 2016 ford f150, minutes after my truck smelt of burning wires and my rear glass shattered. There was no impact as i was still in my driveway.
When driven at highway speed for a while then coming to a stop the truck vibrates, shakes and idles roughly then stalls. It has been diagnosed by Ford as defective Variable Cam Timing Solenoids which have been replaced twice without fixing the problem. It continues to stall when at a stop or when starting out from a stop, like when crossing an intersection it dies in traffic suddenly. The check engine light is lit and it gets progressively worse until it is not reliably drivable
I started my 2016 f150 platinum ecoboost in the morning around (6:30am) on 6/18/21. The glass was fogged up from the night air so I turned rear and front defogger on to clear my glass and smell a instant strong burning smell and a loud pop which sent glass flying from the rear window. I immediately turned the vehicle off and got out. This is a common issue with Ford trucks and thankfully I didn’t have my kids in the back seat as they would have been hit by flying glass.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while attempting to enter the vehicle using the key fob, the key fob failed to unlock the door. The contact used the key to manually unlock the door. The contact noticed that the windshield was cracked and was burned. In addition, the dashboard on the passenger’s side was melted, the sun visor was melted and burned, the air bags were also melted. The vehicle was towed to a collision shop, the contact was informed that the cause of the fire was undetermined however, the fire might have started from the air bags. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 80,100.

Vehicle lost acceleration on interstate highway multiple times and caused dangerous maneuvers to avoid collision. Ford has acknowledged issue via consumer satisfaction 16B32 but I was never mailed any notification. This MUST be a recall. This is the most dangerous event I have experienced driving.
The break system failed completely. Got a Low Brake Fluid message and pedal went to the floor. The vehicle is currently at the dealership getting fixed. If this would have happened while driving down the interstate I would not have been able to stop. No warnings or symptoms before entering the vehicle this particular time.
WHEN TOWING AND COMING TO A STOP MY VEHICLE STALLS AND DIES. IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING. TO KEEP IT RUNNING I HAVE TO PUT IN NEUTRAL AND PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO KEEP IT RUNNING AND THEN PUT INTO GEAR AND TAKE OFF. THIS IS NOT SAFE. IT IS THE 2.7L ECOBOOST. I TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL FORD WHERE IT HAPPENED TO THE TECH THAT TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR INSPECTION AND THEN THEY SAID THE SERVICE TECH COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY CHARGED ME $130 DIAGNOSIS FEE AND SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE AND CALLED FOR ME TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE. THIS IS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

2016 F-150 3.5L 4X4 ECOBOOST WITH MAX TOWING PACKAGE - VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND W/O WARNING CAUGHT FIRE AND ENGULFED IN FLAMES WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF HEARING A HUMMING SOUND AND THEN SEEING WHITE OR GRAY SMOKE. WE WERE TOWING OUR 28 FT TRAVEL TRAILER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ABOUT 4-5 MONTHS, 30 MINUTES INTO THE TRIP ON A FLAT HIGHWAY. PULLED OVER WITHIN 1 MIN OF HEARING THE NOISE/ SEEING SMOKE. UPON EXITING, SAW FLAMES PEEKING OUT FROM UNDER FRONT OF TRUCK. FLAMES HIT THE CAB WITHIN PROBABLY 3 MINS LATER. WE HAD TOWED A 28 FT TRAVEL TRAILER WITH THIS VEHICLE EXTENSIVELY AND COMFORTABLY WITH FEW ISSUES (EXCEPT THROTTLE BODY FAILURE AROUND 30K MILES). REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND MAINTENANCE. FULL PA STATE INSPECTION 3 MONTHS PRIOR, OIL CHANGE 2K MILES PRIOR. NO OUTSTANDING RECALL WORK TO OUR KNOWLEDGE. NO UNUSUAL HANDLING, SMELLS, LEAKING FLUIDS THAT WE NOTICED, OR WARNING LIGHTS. FIRE INVESTIGATOR'S BEST GUESS WAS SUDDEN TRANSMISSION ISSUE BECAUSE IT COMPLETELY BURNED AWAY BUT WE'LL UNFORTUNATELY NEVER REALLY KNOW.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 80MPH WHEN THE TRUCK LOST THRUST AND SEVERAL WARNINGS CAME UP. LUCKILY, I WAS NEAR AN EXIT SO ABLE TO COAST TO THE EXIT. THE THROTTLE BODY HAD TO REPLACE. I FOUND THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE AND FORD HAD A CUSTOMER SERVICE PROGRAM TO REPLACE THEM. I AM THE SECOND OWNER AND NEVER HEARD ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL, SO I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS MYSELF. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. IMAGINE LOSING POWER PASSING A VEHICLE ON A TWO LANE ROAD OR IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. I FOUND THIS LETTER FROM FORD ON YOUR SITE: HTTPS://STATIC.NHTSA.GOV/ODI/TSBS/2016/MC-10109085-9999.PDF. NOT SURE WHY THIS DID NOT SUBSTANTIATE A RECALL.

HI, WE'VE EXPERIENCED TWO BRAKE FAILURES ON OUR FORD F-150 PICKUP. THE FIRST TIME WAS 17 JUNE 2020 ON FRONT RIGHT BRAKE. DEALER TOLD ME WE HIT SOMETHING AND CHARGED $500 TO FIX IT. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND I STARTED IT UP AND PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PUT IT INTO DRIVE, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND UPON INVESTIGATION, I FOUND BRAKE FLUID LEAKING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE AREA.. THE SECOND EVENT WAS 11 DECEMBER AND INVOLVED FRONT LEFT BRAKE. FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN BRINGING VEHICLE TO A STOP AFTER DISCONNECTING FROM OUR TRAVEL TRAILER AND WE WERE PULLING FORWARD TO SEPARATE FROM OUR TRAILER. TRUCK IS AT STOCKTON FORD, FORT STOCKTON, TEXAS. READ ONLINE THAT THIS ISSUE WITH FORD'S IS BEING INVESTIGATED. I GOT PICTURES AND MY VEHICLE IS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED TOMORROW BUT I WILL MAKE IT AVAILABLE IF YOU WANT TO LOOK AT IT. TOM MONAHAN

MY 2016 FORD F150 RECENTLY STARTED WHISTLING AT THE 2500RPM POINT FROM THE FRONT END OF THE MY TRUCK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP EXPECTING A VACUUM HOSE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS HAD WARPED AND BROKE OFF SOME OF THE MOUNTING BOLTS. I WAS A BIT SHOCKED SINCE THE VEHICLE HAS 102,000 MILES ON IT AND IT'S NOT BEEN ABUSED IN ANYWAY. UNFORTUNATELY, THE FACTORY WARRANTY RUNS OUT AT 100,000 MILES AND ON THE HOOK FOR THE COST OF THIS $1600+ (SO FAR) REPAIR. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET IT DID NOT TAKE ME LONG TO DISCOVER THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 3.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE. THERE WERE A MULTITUDE OF WEBSITES AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS ADDRESSING THIS KNOWN PROBLEM WITH FOLKS QUITE UPSET THAT AN OFFICIAL RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED YET WITH A PROPER FIX/REPLACEMENT AND REIMBURSE THE OWNERS WHO HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR THE FIX. SEEMS LIKE IT'S NOT A MATTER OF IF IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOUR TRUCK...BUT WHEN. VERY DISAPPOINTING, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HEAR HOW MANY KNOWN ISSUES HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPORTED. EXHAUST FUMES LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE AND POSSIBLY INTO THE CAB...SHOULD TAKE A HIGH PRIORITY TO RESOLVE. LET'S GO FORD...MAKE IT RIGHT! THANK YOU.

SON WAS DRIVING 2016 FORD F-150 TRUCK ON A 2 LANE ROAD, RIGHT OUT OF OUR SUBDIVISION. IT STARTED SHAKING AND STALLING, WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, BRAKES WENT STIFF, WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. NUMEROUS SENSORS CAME ON. WAS VERY DANGEROUS. HAD TO COAST THE TRUCK BACK HOME. HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THROTTLE BODY WENT BAD. REPAIR WAS $575.00. THEY CLAIMED THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THERE WAS A FIELD SERVICE RECALL ON THIS MODEL TRUCK AND THIS PART A YEAR AFTER THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW WITH PREVIOUS OWNER. WE ARE THE SECOND OWNERS. KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOW. WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT FIELD SERVICE RECALLS EXPIRE. PREVIOUS OWNER MAY HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM TO TAKE IT IN AND HAVE IT CHECKED. ONE OF THE OLD RECALL NUMBERS I RESEARCHED WAS 16B32, THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHERS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS LAWSUITS AGAINST FORD FOR THIS PART GOING BAD. CAN STALL OUT AT ANY TIME AND CAUSE A DEADLY ACCIDENT. THIS TRUCK IS TOO NEW TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS. HAD A FULL 45,000 INSPECTION AT FORD A FEW MONTHS AGO. NOTHING WAS EVER MENTIONED ABOUT THIS OR CLEANING THIS. FORD IS SELLING VEHICLES WITH FAULTY PARTS THAT CAN CAUSE UNEXPECTED ACCIDENTS THAT CAN BE DEADLY. *TR

2016 FORD F150 V8 ENGINE. DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY, MY A/C COMPRESSOR WENT OUT. IT COMPLETELY LOCKED UP CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL AND BECOME DISABLED AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. SHORTLY AFTER, I LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES (AS A RESULT OF THE ENGINE LOSS) WHICH CREATED A SAFETY ISSUE ON A FREEWAY AT 10:30PM AT NIGHT AS I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE OVER LANES OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND EASE OF BRAKING AND BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP WITHOUT POWER ASSISTED BRAKES. THANKFULLY, WE WERE ABLE TO GET OVER, BUT I DON'T KNOW THAT EVERYONE WOULD BE SO LUCKY. I DON'T THINK AN A/C COMPRESSOR BREAKING INTERNALLY SHOULD DISABLE THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE UNLESS SOMETHING IS FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMPRESSOR. I COULD SEE ACCIDENTS OCCURRING AS A RESULT OF THE ENGINE BECOMING DISABLED.

FORD WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR FAILED PARTS AND WOULD NOT REPAIR.

ONE COLD EARLY MORNING I WAS DRIVING, HAD BOTH REAR AND FRONT DEFROST ON. WHILE DRIVING I HEARD A LOUD POP FOLLOWED BY THE SMELL OF BURNING WIRES. AFTER PULLING OVER I NOTICED THAT MY REAR WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. IT'S A REAR SLIDING WINDOW WITH A POWER WINDOW. BLACK BOX FOR POWER THAT STICK TO THE WINDOW WAS POPPED OFF AND SMELLED LIKE BURNT.

ON 1/16/2020. I USED MY REMOTE STARTER TO START THE 2016 FORD F-150 3 MINUTES LATER I WENT OUT AND SMELLED ELECTRICAL WIRING. I SHUT OFF THE TRUCK TO LOOK AROUND. I THEN STARTED THE TRUCK BACK UP AS SOON AS I DID THAT THE BACK WINDOW BLEW OUT.. CALLED SAFELITE TO REPLACE IT THEM ON 1/21/20 THEY REPLACED IT. THEN WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK AT THE SAFELITE SHOP IT BLEW OUT AGAIN. CALLED FORD DEALERSHIPS AND NONE OF THEM HEARD OF IT DOING IT.
THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE LOCKS FREEZING. I SPOKE WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS MORNING. I HAVE HAD JUST BY DRIVES DOOR REPLACED (THAT IS WERE THE DEALERSHIP STARTS). CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THAT IS ONLY FIXES THE FRONT DOORS OF MY FOUR DOOR TRUCK. THE TAILGATE OF THE TRUCK ALSO LOCKS AND HAD FROZEN LOCKED. ALL THE DOORS ON MY TRUCK AND THE TAILGATE HAVE FROZEN LOCKED BEFORE. WHEN ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE TAILGATE. I WAS TOLD THERE IS A FIX BUT IT WILL COST YOU $208. PLUS THEY ARE WORKING ON GETTING ME A PRICE FOR MY REAR DOORS FIXED. THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM AND RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED TO ONLY FIX PART OF THE ISSUES. I HAVE VIDEOS OF MY TRYING TO GET INTO MY TRUCK TAILGATE WHILE HITTING THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON MY KEY FOB.

I WAS COMPLETING A 3 HOUR DRIVE OF APPROXIMATELY 120 MILES (I HAD LESS THAN 5 MILES TO GO TILL I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION) WHEN MY SENSORS STARTED LIGHTING UP MY MESSAGE BOARD AND DASH SYSTEM. I WAS IN THE LEFT TURN LANE TO ENTER THE ON-RAMP TO US65 SOUTH WHEN THIS HAPPENED SO I PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER TO INVESTIGATE. I HAD JUST PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK WHEN A CAR PULLED UP AND SAID THAT MY ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. WHEN I GOT OUT TO LOOK, THE FIRE WAS ROLLING OUT FROM UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL WELL. AS WELL, THERE WAS EITHER A FLUID OR MELTED PLASTIC DRIPPING DOWN TO THE ASPHALT THAT WAS ALSO ON FIRE. THE FIRE APPEARED TO PUT ITSELF OUT, FOR THE MOST PART, PRIOR TO THE FIRE COMPANY ARRIVING WITHIN THE NEXT 10 MINUTES. I HAD, WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE AT THE TIME, RECALL WORK DONE BY MIKE RAISOR FORD IN LAFAYETTE, IN, LESS THAN 1 YEAR AGO. IN THAT RECALL WORK, I THOUGHT THE BLOCK HEATER WAS DISCONNECTED SO AS TO PREVENT AN ENGINE FIRE SUCH AS THIS. NOW, I AM HAVING DOUBTS AS TO WHETHER THIS WAS COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER IS 18V894000 AND FORDS RECALL NUMBER IS 18S45.

WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 30 DEGREES THE DRIVERS DOOR WILL NOT STAY LATCHED/SHUT. CURRENTLY I CANNOT GET INTO MY TRUCK VIA THE DRIVERS DOOR. I REMOTED STARTED THE TRUCK (OUTSIDE TEMP 21 DEGREES) WENT TO LEAVE SO I UNLOCKED THE DOOR, GOT INTO THE TRUCK AND ATTEMPTED TO SHUT THE DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT LATCH. I PULLED THE DOOR SHUT AND HIT THE LOCK BUTTON AND THE DOOR LATCHED. I FORGOT SOMETHING IN MY HOUSE SO I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH, I PUSHED IT SHUT AND HIT THE LOCK BUTTON AND WENT IN MY HOUSE. CAME OUT AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN EVEN AFTER BEING UNLOCKED. REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS ALSO THE SAME WAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WE SMELLED SMOKE AND MY BACK SLIDING WINDOW SHATTERED AND BLEW OUT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WOULDN'T GIVE A COMPLETE ESTIMATE. CALLED FORD CORP AND OF COURSE THEY ARE DRAGGING THEIR FEET. THE REAR DEFROST WASN'T EVEN ACTIVATED AT THE TIME THAT IT SHORTED OUT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND IT HAS BEEN A MAJOR ISSUE WITH FORDS FOR YEARS.

I WAS HEARING A SOUND COMING FROM FRONT OF THE TRUCK. IT SOUNDED LIKE ROCKS IN A TIN CAN BUT IT WAS NOT ALL THE TIME. HAD IT CHECKED AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRYING TO ENGAGE ON ITS OWN. I HARDLY USE THE 4X4 SYSTEM. I HAD TO HAVE THE LINE REPLACED.

I WANTED TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF THIS SITUATION THAT I'VE ENCOUNTERED. ON THE 3RD OF DECEMBER, I WAS GOING TO MY FORD F150 XLT TO GO TO WORK. MY CAR WAS SITTING IN THE BACK YARD AND I STARTED IT WITH THE REMOTE START TO WARM IT UP. I OPENED THE DOOR AND GLANCED AT THE BACK WINDOW. I THEN SAW THAT THE ENTIRE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. I LOOKED AROUND FOR ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS AND FOUND NOTHING. I CHECKED TO SEE IF SOMETHING FELL ON OR HIT MY BACK WINDOW AND STILL DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING STRANGE. I CALLED MY INSURANCE PROVIDER AND SHE THOUGHT THAT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WEATHER, WHICH WAS ABOUT 40 DEGREES. BUT WHEN I CHECKED THE WEB, I FOUND THAT THERE WERE MORE CASES LIKE MINE. PEOPLE WHO WERE JUST USING THE REAR DEFROSTER AND THEIR BACK WINDOWS WOULD CRACK AND SHATTER. THE REASON THAT I'M SENDING THE EMAIL IS TO FIND OUT IF THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THESE WINDOWS. I, ALONG WITH OTHER F150 OWNERS, HAD NO IDEA THAT THE WINDOW WOULD BREAK FROM USING THE REAR DEFROSTER OR JUST REGULAR OPERATION OF THE CAR. THERE HAVE BEEN LOTS OF CASES REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND I WANT TO HELP BRING ATTENTION TO IT BEFORE THERE IS A PROBLEM. PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

WHILE USING MY VEHICLE UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I HAD VEHICLE CHECKED AT AUTOZONE AND O'REILY'S WHICH SHOWED 2 DIFFERENT CODES AND TOOK IT TO MACHAIK DEALERSHIP. TURNS OUT I HAD TO HAVE BOTH CYLINDER HEADS REPLACE, CRANKSHAFT BOLT REPLACED AS WELL AS A FEW OTHER ITEMS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS AN ISSUE THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF AND DIDN'T NOTIFY ME OF IT WHEN I BOUT THE VEHICLE. THEY COVERED THE COST DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING UNDER WARRANTY WHICH WAS ABOUT $5,000. $ MONTHS LATER I GOT MY VEHICLE BACK AND ABOUT 30 MILES OF DRIVING 55MPH IT STARTED BLOWING A THICK CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE WITH SOME GREY SMOKE. I TAKE THE VEHICLE HOME AND LET IT SIT FOR 28 DAYS BEFORE I HAVE TO USE IT AND AFTER ABOUT 23 MILES IT STARTED SMOKING AGAIN. I TAKE IT TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE SMOKING ISSUE, ROUGH IDLE AND THE EXHAUST SMELLS LIKE GAS WHICH IS NOT NORMAL. I SHOWED THEM A VIDEO OF THE ISSUE WHICH CONTAINS MY MILEAGE AT THE TIME AND MY LICENSE PLATE WHICH CLEARLY SHOWS MY VEHICLE SO THEY CANNOT SAY IT WASN'T MY VEHICLE. WAITING FOR THE RESULTS OF THEIR FINDINGS AND PLAN TO UPDATE THE COMPLAINT. I WILL NOT UPLOAD THE VIDEO AT THIS TIME DUE TO IT CONTAINING MY LICENSE PLATE, DON'T KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD IT FROM PHONE AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EDIT THAT OUT. IF IT IS NECESSARY TO UPDATE THIS COMPLAINT I WILL UPLOAD THE VIDEO AS PROOF AS WELL AS WORK ORDER FROM PREVIOUS AND CURRENT WORK.MY MILEAGE WILL NOT BE 100% ACCURATE BUT IT WILL BE WITHIN 400 MILES PLUS OR MINUS

THE MOONROOF IN OUR F150 WON'T OPEN OR COMPLETELY CLOSE. THE VENT OPTION IN THE MOONROOF OPENS A FRACTION OF THE AMOUNT IT HAS OPENED PREVIOUSLY. BASED ON MY RESEARCH IT'S A DESIGN ISSUE WITH THE TRACK. SINCE THE MOONROOF WON'T CLOSE COMPLETELY THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF WATER LEAKING INTO THE CAB. THE MOONROOF IS RARELY USED. WE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN IT AND DO SOME BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING (TO AT LEAST GET IT TO CLOSE COMPLETELY) WHILE SITTING IDLE IN THE DRIVEWAY. WHEN I CONTACTED MY FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT THERE WERE NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE FOR THE NEXT WEEK.

THE WRENCH LIGHT FIRST CAME ON AROUND 42,000 MILES, BUT WOULD SHUT OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE TURNED OFF. IT CAME ON A SECOND AND THIRD TIME AROUND THE 50,000 AND 51,750 MILES. SOMETIMES IT WOULD COME BACK ON WHEN DRIVING AGAIN AND SOMETIMES NOT. THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT ABOUT 52,000 MILES. WHEN THIS CAME ON, IT WOULD STAY ON. THE TRUCK WOULD SEEM TO LOSE A LOT OF POWER AND THE RPM'S WOULD BEGIN REVVING HIGHER WHILE DRIVING. THIS WOULD BE DRIVING ON ALL ROAD CONDITIONS, HIGHWAY OR CITY, UP AND DOWN HILLS. WE HAD THE TRUCK IN TO CHECK AND THE CODE IT PROVIDED WAS 'DTC S-P0741 TORQUE CONVERTOR CLUTCH SOLENOID CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE STUCK OFF. WILL HAVE TO REPLACE TCC AND IF CONDITION STILL EXISTS, REPLACE THE MAIN VALVE BODY.' THE FIRST FORD DEALER (WHILE ON VACATION) MADE THE REPAIR, BUT THIS DID NOT REPAIR THE TRUCK. (THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN 131 MILES AFTER THE REPAIR AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN 40 MILES LATER OF THE WRENCH LIGHT WARNING.) TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE FORD DEALER WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK AT AND THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE TO THE ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, WAS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND NOT TOWING A CAMPER. ALL THE REMAINING TIMES THE WRENCH AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WAS WHILE TOWING A CAMPER. (NOT SURE IF THIS IS POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE OR NOT, BUT FEEL IT IS WORTH NOTING.) ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL, THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE IS TO AUTOMATICALLY DISABLE WHEN A CAMPER IS HOOKED UP TO THE TRUCK. BUT THIS NEVER SEEMED TO AUTOMATICALLY DISABLE WHEN WE WERE HOOKED UP TO THE TRUCK. ANOTHER ISSUE IS WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK UP FROM A COLD START IT WOULD MAKE A RATTLING NOISE. THIS ONLY HAPPENS FROM COLD STARTS. IF THE TRUCK HAD BEEN RUNNER AWHILE, SHUT OFF AND THEN RESTARTED, IT DID NOT MAKE THE NOISE. FORD IS STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS.

I HAVE CONTACTED GUS JOHNSON FORD NUMEROUS TIMES TO HAVE MY RECALLS FIXED THEY ALWAYS TELL ME THEY ARE ORDERING THE PARTS. THIS STARTED OVER A YEAR AGO IN THE WINTER WITH MY DOOR UNABKLE TO CLOSE. I NEED MY RECALL FIXED ASAP
WHILE DRIVING I RECIEVED A BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW WARNING LIGHT. PROCEDED CAUTIOUSLY TO WORK APPROXIMATELY A MILE AWAY WITHOUT ANY ISSUE. LOOKED AT THE RESERVOIR AND FOUND IT TO BE NEARLY EMPTY. AFTER THE TRUCK SAT I WENT TO LEAVE WORK HOPING TO MAKE IT TO A PARTS STORE TO GET BRAKE FLUID. GOT IN TO START IT AND THE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE. HITCHED A RIDE TO GET FLUID AND TOPPED IT OFF. I GOT BACK IN AND HEADED DOWN THE ROAD MAKING IT NO MORE THAN A MILE BEFORE I COMPLETELY LOST MY BRAKES. AFTER SERVICE THIS WAS APPARENTLY CAUSED BY A FAULTY SEAL IN THE MASTER CYLINDER PUMPING ALL THE BRAKE FLUID INTO THE BOOSTER. A PROBLEM FORD HAS HAD WITH PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS AND RECALLED. THIS TYPE OF FAILURE LEAVES NO EVIDENCE OF A LEAK. THIS WAS A SUDDEN AND COMPLETE LOSS OF THE ABILITY TO STOP MY VEHICLE EXCEPT FOR THE PARKING BREAK. DANGEROUS TO SAY THE LEAST.

THE SYNC 3 SYSTEMS FUNCTIONS POORLY OR NOT AT ALL. OFTEN TIMES IT STALLS, FREEZES OR BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE WHICH CAN CAUSE THE FOLLOWING TO HAPPEN. THE SCREEN GOES BLACK AND I AM UNABLE TO ADJUST THE CLIMATE OR USE THE RADIO. ALL FUNCTIONS ARE DISABLED. THE SCREEN GET STUCK WITH THE BACKUP CAMERA ON AND ALL OF THE CONTROLS ARE DISABLED, INCLUDING THE CLIMATE CONTROL. THE SCREEN IS UNRESPONSIVE TO THE TOUCH AND THE CLIMATE CONTROL, RADIO AND ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS DO NOT WORK. THE NAVIGATION GETS STUCK ON THE SCREEN AND THE LOCATION IS INACCURATE AND YOU CANNOT MAKE OTHER CHANGES, INCLUDING TO THE CLIMATE CONTROL. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY AS THE SYNC 3 SYSTEM DOES NOT FUNCTION EITHER WAY. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE BUT I HAD TO ENTER A SINGLE DATE IN THE SYSTEM. I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS BUT THEIR RESPONSE WAS "DID YOU GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY?".

REAR DEFOGGER ON SLIDING REAR WINDOW HAS BECOME COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED. POOR DESIGN. WHEN AUTOMATICALLY OPENING SLIDING REAR WINDOW, THE DEFOGGER MECHANISM GETS CAUGHT ON REAR SEAT EVENTUALLY, THIS LEAD TO THE REAR DEFOGGER DISCONNECTING AND BREAKING OFF FROM HIS HOUSING.

AFTER JUST FEW DAYS OF DRIVING, I NOTICED SOME VIBRATION OF THE TRUCK, BAD OIL BURNING IN THE CABINE,GRIDING OF THE WHEELS WHEN I HAVE TO TAKE SHARP CORNERS AND MANY MORE ISSUES. CALLED THE COVINGTON FORD DEALER ABOUT THE PROBLEMS/ISSUES I HAVE WITH THE TRUCK. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER TO HAVE IT INSPECTED. DID THAT. CALLED COVINGTON FORD AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT OVER TO THEYR DEALER AND THEY WILL CHECKED AND FIX IT. LEFT THE TRUCK FOR OVER A WEEK WITH THEM I CALLED TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MY TRUCK. I WAS TOLD THEY FIXED EVERYTHING.NOW THE VIBRATION IS GETTING WORSE. CALLED AGAIN COVINGTON FORD WITH SAME PROBLEMS. I TOLD THEM I'LL GO ON A HUNGER STRIKE IN FRONT OF THEIR DEALER AND FORD COMPANY MAIN OFFICE. AND I WILL IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED. THE OWNER OF COVINGTON FORD CONTACTED ME BY PHONE, AND LEFT ME A MESAGE THAT THY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE TRUCK OR GET ME ANOTHER TRUCK. DROVE AGAIN TO THEIR DEALER ON A SATURDAY MORNING. THE SALES PERSON, (XXXXX) , TOOK A TEST DRIVE AND HE SAID THAT YES, THERE ARE TO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK, SO, I'M GONNA GET ANOTHER ONE. COVINGTON FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSABLE AND INSPECT THE CARS BEFORE THEY OFFER IT FOR SALE. I HOPE THAT YOU WILL HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I'LL GO ON A HUNGER STRIKE. DURING THIS PROCESS THE BRAKES ENGAGE & THEN YOU CAN HEAR THE SCRUBBING SOUND OF THE BRAKES.THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I'VE RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES, AFTER A MONTH OF DIAGNOSTIC TESTING & ROAD TESTING THE STEERING SYSTEM FAILED ON THE SERVICEMAN WHILE DRIVING IT. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WANT TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO ME WITHOUT MAKING ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE IT HAS NOT RE INITIATED THIS PROCESS IN THE LAST 3 DAYS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME AND ANY OTHER VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. FORD HAS INFORMED ME THAT IF THE STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING CALL ROADSIDE TO BRING IT BACK. TOTAL DISREGARD FOR MY SAFETY AND OR ANYONE ELSE. THIS EVENT OCCURS WHILE DRIVING, IT ALSO SHOWS THESE READINGS UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A 2016 F150 LARIAT SUPER CAB YOU HAD A RECALL ON THE F150 DOORS AND I HAD THE RECALL DONE IT ONLY COVERS THE DOOR LATCHES BUT THE RECALL DOESN'T COVER THE REAR DOOR LOCKING PINS. WHEN ITS COLD OUTSIDE I OPEN THE REAR HALF DOOR AND CLOSE IT AND THE BOTTOM BOLT DOESN'T COME DOWN AND LOCK THE REAR BOTTOM HALF OF THE DOOR ONLY THE TOP HALF IS SECURED. I HAVE TO HAVE THE HEAT CRANKED ON HIGH TO WARM THE INSIDE OF THE CAB SO THE BOTTOM LOCKING BOLT WILL COME DOWN AND PROPERLY SECURE THE DOOR ON THE BOTTOM. IF THE TOP LOCKING BOLT FAILS THE ONLY THING KEEPING THE DOOR CLOSED IS THE SEAT BELT IM WEARING SINCE IT IS MOUNTED IN THE REAR HALF DOOR AND IS LATCHED ACROSS ME WHY IS THIS LOCKING BOLT NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL ARE YOU WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO FALL OUT OF THE CAR AND GET HURT BEFORE YOU RECALL THIS ALSO. MY OLD F150 NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IT WAS A SUPER CAB ALSO I CALLED YOUR CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME ITS NOT COVERED ALL I WANT IS MY 2016 FORD F150 TO BE SAFE I LOVE THIS TRUCK I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME

WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW FREEZING THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN, OR THEY WON'T LATCH SHUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 5 OCCASIONS SINCE NOVEMBER 2018 . FORD ISSUED SAFETY RECALL 17S33 AND FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 18N03 TO TRY TO REPAIR THE DOOR LATCH DEFECT. THOSE RECALLS, AND REPAIR PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE, AND AFTER FOUR ATTEMPTS BY THE DEALER TO CORRECT THE LATCH ISSUES, THE DEFECT STILL EXISTS. THE DOORS STILL HAVE PROBLEMS OPENING AND LATCHING SHUT WHEN FREEZING OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES. NHTSA CAMPAIGN 17V652 IDENTIFIES THIS SAFETY DEFECT AS ONE THAT CAUSES THE DOORS TO EITHER NOT OPEN, NOT CLOSE, OR TO FLY OPEN WHEN DRIVING. THIS REPRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. I BELIEVE IT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE, ESPECIALLY KIDS OR PETS, TO RIDE IN A CAR WHERE THE DOORS CAN EITHER UNEXPECTEDLY FLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, OR TO NOT BE ABLE TO OPEN IN EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. FORD NEEDS TO COME UP WITH A RELIABLE REPAIR FOR THIS.

THIS MORNING I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE ( IT WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY) TO WARM IT UP. I PROCEEDED TO USE THE REAR DEFROSTER BECAUSE THERE WAS SOME FROST ON THE REAR WINDSHIELD. FIVE MINUTES LATER I HEARD A LOUD POP AND WHEN I LOOKED BACK THE REAR WINDSHIELD WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. I I I BELIEVE THIS WAS A RESULT OF A MALFUNCTION WITH THE WIRING OF THE REAR WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER OR THE REAR WINDSHIELD ITSELF.
SINCE BUYING THIS TRUCK I'VE BEEN HAVING DRIVELINE VIBRATIONS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VIBRATIONS HAPPEN WHEN FROM A COMPLETE STOP I WOULD ACCELERATE AND HAVE VIBRATIONS THAT WOULD CAUSE THE TRUCK TO SHAKE. THE CONDITIONS OF THE ROAD WERE NORMAL AND AND TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES ON DIFFERENT PAVEMENTS TO SEE IF IT MIGHT BE THE ROAD CONDITIONS BUT IT WASN'T. THE VIBRATIONS IS MAINLY BETWEEN THE 5-15 MILE PER HOUR RANGE. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS AND THAT IT WAS TOTALLY NORMAL.

I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK TO DEALER FOR MANY MULTIPLE ISSUES INVOLVING ELECTRICAL SINCE APPROXIMATELY 6600 MILES BEGINNING WITH SHAKING WHEN I SLOWED DOWN WITHOUT UTILIZING BRAKES. SINCE THEN I'VE BEEN AT THE DEALER WITH MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES WHERE TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND ALL LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING AND VERY UNSAFE. WHEN I WOULD ATTEMPT TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN I WOULD PROCEED TO CROSS OPPOSING LANES AND VEHICLE WOULD FEEL LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND ALMOST WAS STRUCK ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. VEHICLE HAS ALSO OVER ACCELERATED VERY EARLY IN OWNERSHIP. MOST RECENTLY AND I PICKED UP MY TRUCK AND A WEEK LATER SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT CREATE A GREAT DANGER TO MYSELF AS WELL AS OTHER MOTORISTS. CERTAINLY I CANNOT BE THE ONLY PERSON WHO LITERALLY AS OF THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER 2015 RECEIVED MY ORDERED TRUCK AND NOW AFTER 3 YEARS HAS HAD SO MANY CLOSE CALLS WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE. ALL TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATIONAL AND RUNS VERY ROUGH PRIOR TO HAPPENING. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND VIDEO THE TRUCKS CAMERA AND OTHER ITEMS GOING ON AND OFF DURING OPERATION. THE TRUCK HAS SEVER ELECTRICAL DEFICIENCIES AND THE ENGINE HAS SEVERE RESPONSE ISSUES THAT PUTS MY LIFE. MY PASSENGERS LIVES AND THE OTHER MOTORIST AT GREAT RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH. I AM UNABLE TO SUPPLY ALL THE DATES IN THE ONE SPACE PROVIDED. BUT HAVE ALL VIDEO AND PAPERWORK FROM ALL THE TIMES AND DATES FROM DEALERSHIP.

NAVIGATION SYSTEM. FORD HAS NOT MADE AVAILABLE AN UPDATED NAVIGATION MAP FOR THE 2016-2018 F150, EXPEDITION AND PROBABLY OTHER VEHICLES INCLUDING LINCOLN THAT I AM NOT AWARE OF. THE DEALERS SEEM TO BE IN THE DARK ABOUT THIS SUBJECT AND NO WORD FROM FORD EITHER. I HAVE HAD TO QUIT USING MY NAV SYSTEM FOR FEAR THAT IT WILL DIRECT ME TO A STREET THAT HAS BEEN REMOVED DUE TO NEW CONSTRUCTION OR THROUGH AN UNSAFE PART OF TOWN WHEN NEWER SAFER OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I WOULD LOOK AT MY NAV SCREEN AND IT LOOKED LIKE I WAS DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIELD WITH NO ROADS AROUND ME. IT'S AN UNSETTLING FEELING WHEN DRIVING THRU A STRANGE TOWN AT NIGHT. THIS ISSUE IS ALL OVER THE FORD FORUMS AND I THINK MANY OF US WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS ;OUT AND HURT OR WORSE. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AND IT HAPPENS ANYWHERE THERE HAS BEEN NEW CONSTRUCTION OR DEMOLITION. IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY AT ALL SPEEDS, IT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE THE DAY THE TRUCK WENT INTO SERVICE 5/30/16. IT WAS DELIVERED WITH AN OUT DATED NAV MAP.YOU SEE THIS ON THE NEWS FROM TIME TO TIME WHERE THE NAV/GPS SENDS SOMEONE THE WRONG DIRECTION AND SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS TO THEM. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I AM SURE THERE ARE THOUSANDS, OR 10'S OF THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM.
THE BACK GLASS SHATTERED. I WARMED THE TRUCK UP EARLIER USING MY REMOTE START. I GOT INTO THE TRUCK AND FORGOT MY PHONE, I THEN EXITED THE TRUCK AND CLOSED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND I HEAD A NOISE. THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS CAN'T BE PAINTED IN THIS EMAIL AS OPPOSED TO THE REAL LIFE POTENTIAL OF BEING TRAPPED IN A TRUCK AND THE ONLY WAY OUT WOULD BE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS. IN THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES THE ENGINE MAY NOT START THEREFORE GIVING THE POTENTIAL TO BE TRAPPED IN A FORD TRUCK THAT COULD BE ON FIRE DUE TO A CRASH. I DARE NOT TRY TO ILLUSTRATE ALL THE POSSIBLE REASONS OF HOW DANGEROUS THIS SAFETY FLAW IN THE FORD IS BUT THE GIVEN FACT IS ALL AUTO MAKERS HAVE FAILED BY SELLING VEHICLES THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. ON MOST FORD VEHICLES THE TECHNOLOGY EXISTS FOR THIS FEATURE TO BE INSTALLED. THE INSTALL PROGRAM IS NAMED GLOBAL WINDOW. THE GLOBAL WINDOW INSTALL OPERATES WITH THE KEY FOB EVEN IF THE ENGINE ISN'T RUNNING. THE PROCEDURE FOR THIS TO WORK IS SIMPLY DOUBLE TAP THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB TWICE ON THE SECOND MOTION WHILE DEPRESSING THE UNLOCK BUTTON IT IS TO BE HELD IN THE DOWNWARD POSITION AND THIS ACTION WILL ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING. IN THE ARENA OF SAFETY IT IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY AUTO MAKER TO PRESENT THE POSSIBILITY OF TRAPPING ANY PERSON OR PERSONS IN A VECHICLE DUE TO WINDOWS NOT WORKING BECAUSE THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING. IN CLOSING I OFFER THIS SCENARIO AUTOMOBILE RUNS OFF A BRIDGE OVER A RIVER OR LAKE,THE VECHICLE SINKS AND THE OCCUPANTS CAN'T OPEN THE DOORS AND DUE TO THE SAFETY FAILURE OF THE WINDOWS NOT ROLLING DOWN DUE TO THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING CAUSES APPARENT HEART BREAK . ALL OVER THE FACT THAT A FAILURE OF THE ABILITY NOT TO BE ABLE TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN .. NOT ACCEPTABLE REGUARDLESS OF WHO THE MAKER OF THE AUTOMOBILE IS. BE IT FORD CHEVEROLET,TOYOTA OR ANY AUTO MAKER. THIS FAILURE IS IN ALL MODES STATIC OR MOVING .

THE POWER FOLDING MIRROR BUTTON IS LOCATED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS WINDOW CONTROL, APPROXIMATELY 1/2' AWAY. WHILE IN MOTION, DRIVER CAN HIT MIRROR BUTTON AND CAUSE THEM TO FOLD IN. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. PER FORWARDS OWN RECOMMENDATIONS, YOU MUST ALLOW THE MIRRORS TO FULLY RETRACTS BEFORE HITTING THE BUTTON TO PLACE THEM BACK IN NORMAL POSITION OTHERWISE, THIS COULD CAUSE ISSUES WITH THE MIRRORS. THIS CAUSES DRIVER TO REMOVE EYE FROM ROAD TO REMEDY SITUATION AS WELL AS NOT HAVING VISIBILITY OF SURROUNDINGS. SOFTWARE UPDATE SHOULD BE PUBLISHED TO DISABLE THE NEAREST FROM BEING ABLE TO BE FOLDED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.

MY REAR SEAT DOOR LOCK PULL BUTTONS ON BOTH SIDES WERE NOT SCREWED INTO THE MECHANISM. THIS WOULD NOT ALLOW THE PASSENGER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BY OVERRIDING THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN AN EMERGENCY. I FIXED IT BY SCREWING THE PLASTIC POST INTO THE THREADED MECHANISM.

FORD ISSUED RECALL NOTICE 18S27 IN NOV 2017, I HAVE CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP 4 TIME IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS OUR ON BACKORDER. WHAT GOOD IS ISSUING A RECALL IF THE PROBLEM CAN NOT BE FIXED IN A TIMELY MANNER. FORD IS NOT TAKING THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY.
I WAS TRAVELING ON I-96 HIGHWAY IN MICHIGAN, AND JUST GOT ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAS CRUISING ALONG AT ABOUT 70 MPH (TEMP OUTSIDE 75). AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES, I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND THAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT EXPLOSION. I LOOKED BACK AT THE REAR GLASS, AND IT HAD SHATTERED. THE TEMPERED GLASS WAS STILL INTACT HOWEVER IT WAS MAKING A LOUD CRACKLING SOUND. I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY IMMEDIATELY AND PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. I TOOK PICTURES OF THE GLASS AND NOTICED IT WAS BILLOWING OUTWARD FROM THE TRUCK, AND THE OUTER EDGES WERE JAGGED AND BROKEN. THERE WAS NO SIGN OF IMPACT BY A ROCK OR ANY OTHER OBJECT THAT COULD HAVE HIT THE GLASS. I DECIDED IT WAS BEST TO GO TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD TO HAVE THE INCIDENT DOCUMENTED. UPON CLOSING MY DOOR TO GET BACK INTO THE TRUCK, 2/3 OF THE SHATTERED GLASS FELL AND SPREAD OUT ALL OVER THE BACK TONNEAU COVER OF THE TRUCK. CLEARLY INDICATING THE PRESSURE OF THE BREAK WENT "OUTWARD" FROM THE TRUCK CABIN. THE FORD DEALER BODY SHOP MANAGER TOOK PICTURES AND TOLD ME HE WOULD FILE A CLAIM ON MY BEHALF WITH FORD. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN WITH LEARNING THAT FORD HAS HAD A PROBLEM FOR YEARS WITH THIS HAPPENING TO THEIR TRUCKS AND SUVS, AND I WANTED THIS INFORMATION PASSED ON TO THE CORPORATE LEVEL. I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE TRUCK SAFELY TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP LOCALLY, AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE REPLACED MANY REAR GLASS SECTIONS IN FORD TRUCKS THAT BROKE WITHOUT AN OBJECT IMPACTING IT. I THINK THERE IS A SUBSTANTIAL CASE HERE TO BE BUILT AGAINST FORD. YES, THE GLASS WAS NOT DANGEROUS, AND THANK GOODNESS MY SON WAS NOT IN THE TRUCK AT THE TIME. HOWEVER IF THIS REALLY IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH FORD, IT'S TIME FOR A RECALL OR A LIFETIME WARRANTY BY THE COMPANY.

DRIVING ON HWY AT 70 MPH USING ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ALL OF A SUDDEN IT APPLIED THE BRAKES. FEW DAYS LATER IT DID AGAIN ON HWY NOTHING AROUND ME. STOPPED USING IT AFTER SECOND TIME. LUCKY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. THEN AFTER I GOT TO MY DISINATION THE NEXT MORNING STATER MY TRUCK FIRST I NOTICED NO POWER TO THE FRONT DRIVER & PASSANGER WINDOWS THEN NO A/C / CLIMATE CONTROL, NO MIRROR CONTROL SO STARTED DRIVING IT THEN NOTICED TIRE WARNING LIGHT ON BUT WOULDN'T SHOW THE TIRE PRESSURES LOOKED AT TIRES AND LOOKED LIKE THEY WHERE FINE. WHEN LEAVING STORE WAS BACKING UP AND ALMOST HIT A CAR MY WARNING SENSOR DIDN'T GO OFF NOW I NOTICED THAT ALL OF MY SAFETY DEVICES ON THIS TRUCK WAS NOT WORKING. NOW I'M WONDERING IF MY AIRBAGS ARE ACTIVE. DROVE BACK HOME FROM VIRGINIA TO TENNESSEE ABOUT 6 HR DRIVE VERY CARFULY. NEXT DAY STRAIGHT TO FORD DEALER AND IS STILL THERE AS I'M WRITING THIS. VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DID NOTICE ON THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ISSUE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2015 MODELS BUT DIDN'T SEE ANY ON THE 2016.

HORN NOT WORKING. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2016 FORD F-150 IN 2016. I AM THE FIRST AND ONLY OWNER AND I NOTICED 2 DAYS AGO MY HORN ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPED WORKING WHEN I PRESS ON THE HORN BUT IT WILL SOUND WHEN I HIT MY ALARM BUTTON ON MY KEY FOB. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS, I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND THEY ARE WORKING AND HAVE A CURRENT RUNNING THROUGH THEM. AFTER SOME RESEARCH (WITHIN GOOGLE AND F-150 FORUMS) A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS AND HAVING TO REPLACE THEIR CLOCK SPRINGS.

I DROVE MY TRUCK TO MY FARM WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER BEING PARKED FOR A WHILE, MY SON-IN-LAW GOT IN TO DRIVE TO A WORK AREA AND IMMEDIATELY REPORTED THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. WE CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS ALMOST EMPTY, EVEN THOUGH I HAD RECENTLY HAD THE LEVEL CHECKED AS "FULL" AT A CHANGE OF OIL AND FILTER. IT TOOK TWO LARGE BOTTLES OF BRAKE FLUID (AT OVER $8.00 EACH, JUST TO GET IT HOME (ABOUT 50 MILES). I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES DURING THIS TRIP TO GET BRAKING ACTION AND DRIVE VERY CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY. THE DAY BEFORE THIS HAPPENED I HAD TOWED A SINGLE AXLE TRAILER WITH AN AGRICULTURAL DISC ON IT. HAD THIS QUICK LOSS OF BRAKES OCCURRED AT THAT TIME, IT LIKELY WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, AND EVEN DEATH. THE SHOP WHERE I TOOK IT REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER, THE POWER BOOSTER, WHICH HAD FILLED WITH FLUID, AND AN O2 SENSOR, WHICH HAD BEEN DAMAGED. THE TOTAL COST WAS $1194.34. SINCE ALL THE PARTS WERE REPLACED WITH NEW FORD BRAND PARTS, THERE IS A LIKELIHOOD THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE AND MERITS A RECALL, AS WELL AS REIMBURSEMENT TO ME OF MY EXPENSES.

I HAVE A 2016 F150 WITH ISSUES SIMILAR TO NHTSA COMPLAINT ID# 10127407. THE PROBLEMS ARE NOT INTERMITTENT, THE PART HAS FAILED & IS NOT AVAILABLE FROM FORD AT THIS TIME. THE AIR CONDITIONING QUITS COMPLETELY & YOU CANNOT RUN THE FAN AT ALL. YOU CANNOT ROLL DOWN ANY WINDOWS IN THE VEHICLE & THE VEHICLE GETS WELL OVER 90 DEGREES INSIDE WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN THIS DOESN'T WORK IT ALSO DISABLES THE AIRBAGS OF THE VEHICLE, CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT AS WELL AS TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR FAILURE ALONG WITH OTHER SAFETY FEATURES. THE SEATS NO LONGER RETRACT OR MOVE FORWARD WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED/SHUTOFF. THE KEY FOB INTERMITTENTLY WILL NOT LOCK THE DOORS OF THE VEHICLE & THE ALERT ON THE TRUCK SAYS KEY NOT FOUND. WITH THE WARM TEMPERATURES AND NO WAY TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS OR TURN ON THE AC OR A BLOWER FAN MAKES THIS VEHICLE EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO OPERATE.
TRUCK IS IDLING DOWN TO ABOUT 250 RPM AND PERIODICALLY STALLING OUT AFTER DRIVING AND COMING TO A STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. ALSO STALLS IN REVERSE. FORD CANNOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. STARTED WITH 22604 MILES. NOW HAS 26346 MILES AND AM STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE FORD DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT 3 TIMES. STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED
Mileage: 22,600
STARTED TO HEAR A CLICKING/TAPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHILE AT IDLE. HAVE LEARNED THAT IT IS THE ETB (ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY). I PHYSICALLY SAW THE ETB MAKING THE NOISE I AM CONCERNED ABOUT. TOOK TO FORD FOR DIAGNOSIS AND BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS NOT GIVING AN ERROR CODE, THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO. FOUND THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL HUNDRED COMPLAINTS AGAINST FORD AND THEIR ETB. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT I AM TRYING TO PREVENT.

ON 5 SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE DASH DISPLAY STOPPED WORKING. RADIO/CD PLAYER/BACKUP CAMERA WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL. THE MAIN CONCERN IS BACKING UP AT NIGHT IN A CROWDED PARKING LOT WITH THE BACK OF MY TRUCK LOADED FOR A 9 DAY CAMPING TRIP. I CAN NOT SEE OUT ANY OF THE CAMPER SHELL WINDOWS AT ALL. SINCE I PURCHASED MY TRUCK THERE HAS BEEN ISSUES WITH THE BACKUP CAMERA. THE DEALER REPLACED THE APIM AND HAD TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FOR THREE WEEKS TO TRACE A BAD WIRE. ON JANUARY 22 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:00 P.M., I STARTED MY TRUCK WITH THE REMOTE START, WHICH ACTIVATES THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER, AS NEEDED. ON MY 20 MILE RIDE HOME FROM WORK, MOSTLY FREEWAY DRIVING, I HEARD CRACKLING NOISES, AND I WAS WATCHING IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, MY ENTIRE REAR WINDOW SHATTERING, EXCEPT FOR THE CENTER POWER SLIDING PIECE. WHEN I GOT HOME, PIECES OF GLASS FELL INSIDE THE CAB AND BED WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR IT. IN THE MEANTIME, I AM FORCED TO PAY $500 DEDUCTIBLE FOR MY INSURANCE TO REPAIR IT, EVEN THOUGH I HAD PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000 MILES ON IT NOW. RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM, I BELIEVE IT IS A DEFECT IN THE GLASS, CAUSING IT TO SHATTER WHEN THE DEFROSTER WARMS UP THE GLASS.

TOPIC: SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO USES A UNSAFE PROMPT WHICH FORCES DRIVERS TO TAKE THEIR EYES OFF THE ROAD AND HANDS OFF THE WHEEL, WHILE DRIVING, IN ORDER TO REMOVE IT FROM THE SCREEN. THIS PROMPT IS THEIR ATTEMPT AT FORCING CONSUMERS TO CALL AND SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR SERVICE. IN MY FORD F-150, I AM ABLE TO USE A BUTTON ON MY STEERING WHEEL TO TOGGLE THROUGH THE AUDIO SOURCES (SUCH AS AM, FM, CD, OR PHONE. SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO IS ALSO ONE OF THOSE OPTIONS), SAFELY. THE SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO WAS A FEATURE THAT WAS ALREADY INSTALLED IN THE TRUCK WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE NEVER SUBSCRIBED TO THEIR SERVICE NOR DO I WISH TO. UNFORTUNATELY, EVERY TIME I TOGGLE THROUGH AND GET TO THE SIRIUS SOURCE, A PROMPT SHOWS UP ON THE SCREEN (SEE PHOTO) AND I AM FORCED TO TAKE MY EYES OFF THE ROAD AND MY HANDS OFF THE WHEEL IN ORDER TO HIT 'CLOSE' SO THAT I CAN MOVE ON TO THE AUDIO SOURCE THAT I AM LOOKING FOR. SIRUS TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO DISABLE THE PROMPT, AND THAT THE ONLY WAY TO DISABLE IT PERMANENTLY WAS TO PAY THEM FOR SERVICE OR PAY A DEALERSHIP TO GO IN AND REMOVE THE SATELLITE CHIP. THIS SITUATION IS UNSAFE AND UNFAIR TO THE CONSUMER. I SHOULD NOT BE FORCED TO USE MY OWN TIME AND MONEY IN ORDER HAVE THIS SAFETY VIOLATION FIXED. THIS SEEMS LIKE A BLATANT CONTRADICTION OF OUR 'HANDS-FREE' TRAFFIC LAWS, WHICH ARE MEANT TO ENCOURAGING DRIVERS TO KEEP THEIR EYES ON THE ROAD. SIRIUS HAS ESSENTIALLY HIJACKED THIS SAFETY FEATURE IN MY TRUCK AND I WOULD LIKE TO PURSUE A COMPLAINT. I AM AFRAID THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP.

WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW FREEZING MY DOORS WILL FREEZE SHUT OR NOT CLOSE FULLY. FORD SAYS IT COULD BE A FEW MONTHS BEFORE PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE FOR A PROPER FIX. THEY SAY THE WHOLE DOOR LOCK MECHANISM AND CABLE NEED TO BE REPLACED IN ALL DOORS. THIS IS MY ONLY PICKUP TRUCK AND I DRIVE IT IN THE WINTER TIME. SO NOW I HAVE TO WAIT TILL IT WARMS UP TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE SAFELY AS THE DOORS MAY NOT SHUT OR FULLY CLOSE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD IS TAKING THEIR TIME FOR A FIX. THEY SAY THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHEN PARTS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE. I AM CURRENTLY ON A WAITING LIST AT MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP FOR THE REPAIR. AT THE END OF JANUARY 2017 WE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH OUR TRUCK. THE DOORS WOULD NOT CLOSE OR FULLY OPEN THEN ALSO. TOOK THE TRUCK IN TO FORD AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY READJUSTED THE DOOR LOCK MECHANISMS WHICH DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME NOT TO WASH THE VEHICLE AT ALL IN THE WINTER TIME AS THE WATER CAN GET DOWN INTO THE DOOR AND FRIES THE MECHANISMS. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS FORD SHOULD HAVE TESTED THESE TRUCKS IN COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS. IF THEY DID THEY WOULD HAVE KNOWN OF THE ISSUE AND FIXED IT BEFORE PUTTING THE TRUCK TO MARKET. TODAY THE DOORS WOULD NOT CLOSED AND I HAD TO USE A PROPANE HEATER AND A BLOW DRYER TO UNTHAW THEM. FINALLY I WAS ABLE TO GET MY DOORS CLOSED AFTER 30 MINUTES OF THAWING THEM. THIS IS A SAFETY-RELATED ISSUE AS THE DOORS WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD COULD COME OPEN OR NOT FULLY ENGAGE THE LOCKING MECHANISM WHEN TEMPERATURES DIP BELOW FREEZING.

PURCHASED MY 2016 FORD F150, BRAND NEW. DURING COLD TEMPERATURES THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT UNLOCK AND IF YOU ARE ABLE TO GET UNLOCKED THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK NOR LATCH. IF IN THE EVENT I WAS IN TRAVELING IN COLD TEMPERATURES, I WOULD BE LOCKED IN MY VEHICLE CAUSE A SAFETY CONCERN FOR MY TWO INFANTS AND WIFE AND I. SPOKE TO FORD MANUFACTURER AND FORD SERVICE DEPT, THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THERE IS A BACK ORDER OF PARTS, SINCE JANUARY OF 2017, WHEN I STARTED HAVE ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE. I AM SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE IN GETTING VEHICLE BOUGHT BACK FROM FORD COMPANY, MINUS DEPRECIATION.

MY 2016 F-150 IS NOT UNLOCKING/LOCKING THE DOORS IN COLDER TEMPERATURES (BELOW 32*F). SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE HAD TO WAIT TO REMOTE START AND WARM THE TRUCK UP BEFORE THE DOOR LOCKS ARE OPERABLE. I HAD A TSB PERFORMED BY MY DEALER UNDER WARRANTY, AND THE VERY NEXT DAY (THE TEMPERATURE WAS 10*F) I CANNOT GET INTO MY TRUCK BECAUSE THE DOOR LOCKS ARE FROZEN AND INOPERABLE. I CAN NOT GET INTO MY VEHICLE UNTIL THE LOCKS WARM UP AND WORK, SOMETIMES THIS TAKES UP TO 30 MINUTES OF THE VEHICLE RUNNING USING THE REMOTE START. THIS USUALLY WORKS FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, HOWEVER THE OTHER THREE DOORS (SUPER CREW) STILL DO NOT WORK UNTIL THE TEMPERATURE WARMS UP.

UNDER FREEZING CONDITIONS, PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT RE-LATCH CLOSED AFTER BEING OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL OPEN USING THE OUTSIDE HANDLE, BUT WILL NOT SECURELY LATCH CLOSED. THE ISSUE RESOLVES AS TEMPERATURE WARMS UP.

I HAVE BEEN LOCKED OUT OF THE TRUCK SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST MONTH WHEN IT HAS BEEN COLD AND SOME OF THE TIMES WHEN I COULD ACTUALLY GET BACK IN, THE DOORS THEN WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT UNTIL THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY WARMED UP ENOUGH TO "THAW" THE LOCKS. BUT OFTEN THE ISSUE WOULD COME RIGHT BACK ONCE THE TRUCK WAS COLD AGAIN. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A TSB ABOUT THIS ON 2015 AND 2016 TRUCKS (16-0155) BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL AROUND FEB 1 AND THAT THE SERVICE TAKES ATLEAST 5 HRS TO PERFORM

THE DOOR LOCKS AND LATCHES WILL NOT WORK IN FREEZING WEATHER. THERE ARE OTHER ISSUES SUCH AS THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID CHECK VALVE FREEZING...HUGE IN ICEY CONDITIONS BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WAY TO CLEAN WINDOW IN CAR U ARE UNABLE TO SEE WELL. BOUGHT A BRAND NEW, 2016 F150 LARIAT V8 4X4. AT CIRCA 2500 MILES THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MAKE AN UNUSUAL NOISE WHEN DRIVING AT 45 TO 60-MPH. TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIR TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP HEARD THE NOISE ALSO, BUT WERE NOT ABLE TO LOCATE/FIX IT. THEY ADVISED ME TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR TO SEE IF THE NOISE INCREASED. AT CIRCA 3750 MILES, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A SECOND TIME SINCE THE NOISE WAS STILL PRESENT AND EVIDENT. THE DEALERSHIP HAS KEPT THE CAR FOR 10 DAYS, AND ALTHOUGH THE NOISE STILL CAN BE HEARD, THEY DEALERSHIP IS INFORMING ME THAT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO LOCATE AND FIX THE NOISE. THEY HAVE INSTRUCTED ME TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE ALTHOUGH THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I AM WORRIED TO PICK UP A CAR THAT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED, THAT HAS A NOISE THAT WAS NOT PRESENT WHEN NEW, AND THAT IS HAPPENING WHEN DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP/ FORD MUST ASSUME OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLE SINCE THEY CAN'T FIX IT, AND CAN'T ADVISE CUSTOMERS TO KEEP DRIVING THE VEHICLE "SINCE WE CAN'T FIND WERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT". *TR

INSTALLED NEW FRONT BUMPERS FROM RANCH HAND CORPORATION SHINER,TX 18003669712 THEY SAID ALL THE SAFETY FEATURES WOULD WORK AND THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE. IT DOESN'T AND A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. I JUST WANT THEM TO HONOR WHAT THEY SAID THEY SOLD AND TO HAVE SAFETY FEATURES. I CALLED THEM AND NOT VERY HELPFUL AT ALL AND RUSH ME OFF THE PHONE.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, DOING ABOUT 60 TO 65 MPH, NOTICED THAT I WAS SLOWING DOWN SLIGHTLY, WENT TO GIVE IT MORE GAS, LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD AND REALIZED THAT THE ENGINE WASN'T ON (NO RPMS ON TACHOMETER). THE SCREEN ON THE DASHBOARD HAD A SERVICE WARNING FOR THE PARKING BRAKE WITH A LIGHTNING BOLT IDIOT LIGHT ON (NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS, DIDN'T GET THE CHANCE TO LOOK IN THE MANUAL). I DON'T KNOW IF THE POWER STEERING/BRAKES WENT OUT, SINCE I WAS MOVING FAST ENOUGH TO STEER FAIRLY EASILY, AND I'M STRONG ENOUGH TO PRESS A BRAKE PEDAL. AFTER I GOT IT PULLED OVER, I PUT IT IN PARK, TRIED TO START IT AGAIN, WASN'T ABLE TO. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, GOT A TOW TRUCK. NOTICE THE SCREEN THAT HAS STUFF LIKE CLOCK, TEMP, DATE, MEDIA INFO WAS STUCK AT THE TIME IT SHUTOFF. NO OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS SEEMED TO WORK, I.E. POWER WINDOWS, EMERGENCY FLASHERS, IGNITION. WAS ALSO LOCKED IN PARK, COULDN'T GET IT INTO NEUTRAL FOR THE TOW TRUCK. AFTER IT GOT ONTO THE TOW TRUCK, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS FLASHED WHILE DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SERVICE IT, GOT TO DEALER AND WHEN IT CAME TIME TO GET IT OFF THE TRUCK, IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN, DIDN'T APPEAR TO HAVE ANY SERVICE MESSAGES SHOW UP. BRAND NEW TRUCK, ABOUT 1100 MILES ON IT, NO ACCIDENTS, NO OFF-ROADING, HAVEN'T EVEN CHANGED THE OIL YET, HAVEN'T TOUCHED ANYTHING UNDER THE HOOD BESIDES THE OIL DIPSTICK. AT THE DEALERSHIP, NOTHING SEEMED TO BE LOOSE UNDER THE HOOD (ELECTRICAL WISE). ATTACHED IS A PICTURE SIMILAR TO WHAT I SAW (AGAIN, 65 ON THE HIGHWAY, NOT REALLY AN IDEAL TIME FOR DOCUMENTATION).

LATER ON THAT NIGHT MY HANDS AND FEET BURNED ALL NIGHT LONG. EACH TIME I'VE DROVE IT SINCE THE SAME THING HAPPENED, EACH TIME RECOVERY TAKES LONGER.
