My back up camera started going in an out and now i have a blue screen with no visibility from the camera it has recently started doing a black and white lines as well. I did speak with ford and stated there is a recall for the cameras but i have not received a notice so therefore they cannot perform the software update. I am elder and use my camera for extra safety when backing up.
Ford Consumer Affairs was sent a letter with this information, too. My 2018 F150 truck had issues with the 10 speed transmission. It’s been jumping, skipping gear, down shifting for no reason. Yesterday, 12/28/25, we were returning home from a holiday trip on I-95’s left lane of the highway when the truck down-shifted from 10th gear to around 3rd or 4th gear spiking the RPM to over 5,000 RPM’s for no reason on 3 different occasions. We had to move to the right lane after the 3rd time due to the wrench light coming on and the transmission temperature gauge maxed out at super hot and turn on the hazards due to only doing 50 MPH in a 70 MPH highway until we could exit. This was dangerous in so many ways due to the volume of traffic on the highway. Downshifting that much instantly was like slamming on brakes with no break lights. We were verry lucky not getting rear ended and causing a possibly tragic situation. Thankfully, we did not get into an accident. There were a lot of cars on the road, as many families were returning home. This is happening all over the USA with the 10 speed transmission and may eventually cause a tragic accident on the road. We took it to the Cocoa Ford Dealership on 12/29/25 and the diagnostic paper states they 'performed a KOEO Self Test and found PQ7F7 for Gear 10 incorrect ratio. Verified fluid vented out of top of transmission. Tech Rec Overhaul. All one time use parts and rear main seal. Trans cooler. Due to parts/labor cost recommend assembly replacement.'
Water intrusion into the Body Control Module (BCM) caused multiple safety-related electrical failures. The horn no longer functions, traction control activates and deactivates while driving, exterior lights remain on after vehicle shutdown, and the battery must be disconnected to turn off headlights. The issue presents a safety concern while operating the vehicle. Ford Motor Company was notified and documented the concern but declined assistance due to no active recall or program.
Problem Description: The rear sliding window track on my Ford F-150 has detached / become loose, causing the window to rattle, misalign, and leak water into the cabin. While there is a TSB (SSM 50337) for window rattling, my truck’s issue is more severe, creating a potential safety hazard if the window detaches while driving or allows water damage to electrical components. Additional Info: •Occurs under normal driving conditions •Photos/video available for review •This issue may affect other F-150s with sliding rear windows Desired Outcome: Investigation and determination if this defect warrants a recall or service bulletin to prevent safety hazards.
Truck was in golden auto electric for transmission replacement and wheel bearing replacement. When the truck was purchased from rightway auto of Gaylord there was a bolt missing from left side wheel hub assembly. Wheel hub assembly and transmission was replaced. An oil change garage informed me that there was a missing bolt on wheel hub assembly that was replace
REAR CAMERA not operating for last 1+ years. Ford dealer on 6/17/2025 diagnosed -- Recommended replacing REAR CAMERA ($730 for camera replacement on top of $221 already paid to diagnose). Initially REAR CAMERA operated intermittently, then occasionally, then for last 1+ year totally inoperable. Why not covered under massive Ford REAR CAMERA failure recall?
backup camera stopped working around 07/2025 and now starting 10/2025 it will work when it wants to but its not clear it will be distorted.
Backup camera started glitching on and off for a couple weeks and eventually stopped working completely and screen is now black when shifted in to reverse. Purchase new camera from dealer, installed, but did not fix issue so I returned it. Found out later that the camera requires initialization or programming depending on year so replacing my consumer does not appear possible.
I have experienced a reoccurring issue with an hvac drain leak that creates black mold in the carpet this happened in many 2019 & 2020 f150 models. Some early on & some 6 years later (like my vehicle). This was covered in a prior TSB but did not always fix the problem nor did they replace the carpet (to fix the mold issue). Also, the TSB does not cover this issue out of the 36 month warranty. This is a health hazard due to the black mold, especially since their fix does not always cure the issue.
We are having trouble with our rear-view backup camera not working properly like the F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks that are being recalled because their rearview camera images may not display correctly in certain lighting conditions. Our issues with the F-150 is the same as the others however ours has not been recalled and I think it should be.
Backup camera was so blurry couldn’t see truck that was parked behind and backed into front bumper causing dent and bumper needed to be replaced.
The rear view camera is blurry because of moisture intrusion making the rear view camera unusable at times
Back up camera works sporadically. Parking guide lines have disappeared, parking collision warning goes off for no reason. Cross traffic alert does not work sometimes.
My back up camera just shows blue or static. It just randomly happened but everything else works and the screen shows fine when not in reverse.
Rear view camera is blurry. Can no longer clearly see obstacles while backing up. Camera problem was reproduced and repaired by the dealer.
Known sunroof issue with ford with the plastic tracks breaking and sunroof refuse to open/close. Ford issued a TSB and forums have many ford owners with same issue.
On April 2025 Grieco Ford of Delray Beach Florida send a technician over my house to repair a recall they had on my 2018 F150 and at that time I had a engine light on After he fixed the recall on the next day my Stereo stop working completely and also the backup camera I made a complaint and They sent a unqualified technician over my house to see what was wrong And after he left my engine light came on again and I still have no Stereo . All the technician told me was that the recall had nothing to do with the Stereo failure I told the technician that it was too much of a coincidence that my Stereo failure . Believe or Not I thank God they sent a unqualified technician because like the first it tried to repair one thing and screwed up another ,that way you people know what I’m trying to explain. I made a research and its very rarely that a 2018 has stereo issues. I’m not saying that it could not happen But it’s too much of coincidence My Truck never had any problems at all Only brakes and tires and off course oil changes I don’t even care if they give me a used Stereo,as long it works
Iwe system failure, this has been worked on multiple times. Yes it's distracting when it grinds all the time putting everyone safety at risk. The only way it stops is to turn it to 4H which need to slow down for. Yes dealership and shops are aware. Total 4 wheel drive failure and warning on dash (little wrench).
Backup Camera stopped working on [XXX] right before Ford issued a recall notice for a backup camera issue related to a software update, but this VIN is not included. This seems highly coincidental. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle is consuming oil at a 1 quart per 1100 mile rate. i have had it tested at a Ford dealer. there is Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 19-2365 for the year, make and model but Ford isnt offering a repair. The repair is approximately $14,000.00 that should not be the consumers responsibility. Please help get a recall issued.
While driving through an intersection, my truck unexpectedly shut down. An error message appeared on the dashboard stating: "Auto Start/Stop – Shift to P, then Restart Engine." I was in a lane with oncoming traffic at the time, so I had to come to a complete stop, shift the vehicle into park, and restart the engine. After restarting, the truck resumed normal operation and I was able to continue driving.
When driving for a hour ac shuts off and only blows warm air. Had everything tested and comes out perfect they can’t find an issue. Happened multiple times but reporting the most recent
I spilled something on my passenger side front so removed my weathertech floor liner and noticed the carpet was wet with some mildew on it. Cleaned it up and let it air dry. Some time b later I b checked it again and it was more wet. Went online and saw a recall . Called dealer that has serviced my truck since I drove it off the lot . Why they hadn’t told me about the recall. Was told it wasn’t on the recall. They are telling me I have to pay to fix it . It’s obvious it shouu I led have been included in this recall. For all I know I have mold and mildew under my carpet. This can not be good or healthy for b me and b my family.
2018 Ford F-150 with transmission problem. 10 Gears- jerking and pause between automatic shifting of gears, down shifting. Brought to Ford- needs a complete transmission. This truck has 75,000 miles and is not "Built Ford Tough". Ford tells me this is not a recall and denied my claim. This is a safety issue and is a big, known problem for Ford. The dealership is replacing 6 of them per week that are not part of a recall. This should be a recall. Shame on Ford Motors.
Background: I’ve had my F150 for 7 years. For 6.x years though, the truck was operating with improper software in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) that managed the Emissions system’s control and monitoring. This is according to the Ford Recall Notice in Feb 2025 (2E14) stating the above. To address the Recall, a Ford technician came to my house, performed the software recall update, and immediately afterwards, my check engine light came on. Days later, back at the Ford dealer, they charged me a $200 diagnostic fee, and concluded my Catalytic Converter was bad and needed replacement. And the $2000 repair would be my responsibility since my mileage was (now) over the Emissions Warranty limit. My question to them was: “when did the Catalytic Converter fail”? Dealer answer: Not sure. The old/incorrect software couldn’t detect when it went bad. My comment: So the Converter may have failed in year 1 ,2, 3, 4 or 5 (still in warranty term) and just not flagged it back then? Dealer Answer: It’s possible, no way to know for sure. Point is: There’s a good chance the part actually ‘failed’ during the warranty period. How can Ford logically assign responsibility to me when the software was ‘incorrect’ for 6 years?? I DON'T LIKE DRIVING A TRUCK THAT'S POLLUTING MORE due to a failed Catalytic Converter, but the dealer wasn’t able to explain why it failed AFTER the warranty period. I feel that Ford should replace the Converter at their cost since the point of failure was most likely during warranty, but never triggered due to the defective/recalled software that the Truck had for it's entire life. There are online people saying similar. Got the recall done, then was told they needed a $2000 repair to the Converter. I suppose many will just continue to drive with the non functioning catalytic converter.
Ford issued recall 24E12 for a PCM reprogramming for my 2018 Ford F-150 for an emissions issue. A dealership completed the recall on 4/15/25. Approximately one month later, check engine light comes on and dealership now says we need a new catalytic converter. Upon research, this exact issue has been happening with many others who did the reprogramming.
This vehicle has and co tones to have the back up display freezing while in reverse - it has been unsuccessfully addressed at dealerships on multiple occasions. The current recall on this issue needs to be added to more model years, this is not a new problem with ford
APIM has failed and must be replaced. This means that there is no back-up camera, navigation, radio, climate control, etc.
My back up camera barely works now. Most of the times that I back up the screen is blue or black. Very rarely it will work. I brought it into my local for dealer and they said moisture somehow got into the sealed connector and started corroding the metal in there making it a bad connection. They told me I needed a new wire harness for over $500 and I don’t have the money to fix it. So now my back up camera is just broke.
I was stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded to press the gas and turn into the far lane. A quarter to halfway through the turn the engine shut off and I got the message “ Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine”. Had to put the vehicle in park in the middle of the road and restart the engine. Luckily no one was coming but if there had been I could have been hit.
40,000 miles on truck and the horn does not work. There is no power to the fuse.
My [XXX] daughter and friend were driving our F150 lariat super crew cab 3.0 deisel which to our knowledge was in excellent condition. The driver behind her frantically pulled them over as the rear underneath of the truck was on fire. They immediately pulled over and within several minutes the entire truck burned to the ground. Luckily the girls were safe, although very shaken. There were no warning lights on the dash and the smoke was behind the truck. Had their not been a car behind them on the country highway, who knows what could have happened to the girls. When accelerating to highway speeds, my truck downshifts a gear or 2. This has been happening for the past year since I purchased the truck. When I try to accelerate to 60 MPH from 50 it is really hesitant after downshifting.
APIM - Accessory Protocol Interface Module Failed reprogramming for a current software version update Local mechanic as well as Ford Dealership recommended module replacements
APIMs failed. Will not reset, will not update, will not synch, will not function. Loss of GPS, 911 Assist, and all electronic functions. Other warning and rear view options unavailable. This loss of control of driver assisted functions limits safety and interaction features. Stems from 7 February update and software not removing old files. Verified by dealer, only way to fix software is to replace hardware at $1200 per part.
I received a recall on my 2018 F-150 to update / reprogram the PCM. The truck had been running well and had not had any check engine lights on (at least since I have owned it). The recall work was done at a local Ford dealer on 2-17-2025. On [XXX], the check engine light came on. The truck was taken to a local mechanic who scanned the code and said it indicated that one of the catalytic converters needed replaced. The light went out about a week later, but came back on [XXX]. I believe the check engine light coming on is related to / caused by the recall in which the PCM was updated. I contacted the service department where the recall work was performed. He said the dealership could scan the check engine code, but it would cost $200-$300 and I would be responsible for that cost. After reading about many similar cases online in which other people believe the recall work has now caused check engine codes indicating there is a problem with the catalytic converter(s). I contacted FORD customer service and opened a case (case # [XXX] ). I was told by the dealer that the truck could go into limp mode at any point and would be basically undrivable at that point and potentially cause a dangerous situation - especially in traffic or if towing a trailer. I am getting no where with the dealer or FORD customer service. I believe the problem has been caused by the recall in which the PCM was updated. I would greatly appreciate this concern being investigated. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
We received a recall letter for Emission recall dealing with the system reading that the catalytic converter is bad. We had this happen a year ago, and had to have the catalytic converter replaced because it was showing it was bad. This recall letter says that it will show it’s bad, but may not be bad. We spent almost $3000 because we live in a state with inspections. This letter shows that it was the computer that messed up. We are trying to deal with Ford to see if we can get reimbursed since there’s a recall on the chip. The recall is emission recall 24E12. The work wouldn’t have needed done if the chip wouldn’t had shown the catalytic converter was bad.
Transmission slipping And as its driving from 4th gear it drops down to 1st gear and it slips wont go into gear and it stops for a couple of seconds
(A known defective Product/Part ) My name is [XXX] , and I am a retired military veteran and former police officer. I proudly served my country and community, including a deployment to Africa from 2021–2022. Unfortunately, during my service, I developed a chronic medical condition that ultimately led to my inability to continue working as a police officer and a soldier. Due to my physical limitations, I was honorably released from law enforcement, a career I deeply valued. In 2019, I purchased a 2018 Ford F-150 XLT 5.0 Crew Cab with 14,000 miles on the odometer which has always been a goal of mine. In an effort protect my investment, I purchased an extended warranty, which I believed would cover me until I reached 100,000 miles. The truck currently has 77,000 miles, and I recently experienced a serious mechanical issue. While returning home from dropping my son off at college, my truck began harshly shifting, hesitating between gears, and jerking forward. The wrench light appeared, and I experienced a significant decrease in power. I immediately took it to Landers Ford in Covington, TN, where I was informed that the CDF drum is malfunctioning—a known issue with this type of transmission. The estimated repair cost is $9,335.14, but I was informed that my extended warranty had expired in 2024. I have meticulously taken care of my truck since I purchased it. I have only recently started driving it on a regular basis. As a [XXX] living on a fixed income, I simply do not have the means to cover this cost. This appears to be a known issue with several models of the Ford F-150. Some of the sites that reference this issue are: [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] I am seeking assistance to get this resolved and corrected INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My son brought his vehicle in for service because his coolant had been leaking and the fan was constantly running very loud. The guy in the service department told him that it was a recall. After four days, they finally diagnosed it as an excessive coolant leak. I spoke with the service manager, Josh Bass and he sent a quote for $995.61 and didn't even specify what work was going to be done to the truck on the quote. Josh verbally told me over the phone that the water pump needs to be replaced to fix the problem. The truck has less than 60,000 miles on it and should be on recall. The coolant leak could lead to major engine problems. This issue is very concerning and should be reported immediately!
Transmission failure. When going into second gear the truck would start to stall for a brief minute before shifting into next gear. This was causing harsh, and delayed shifting. Never got into an accident, but majority of the time the shifting delays would happen when turning or getting up to 35 MPH. When this occurred the truck would stall which would cause cars following stopping fast and could have caused a fender bender. Truck was taken into a ford dealer. They updated PCM trans software update- that did not fix it. They then recommend total body value replacement which was done. That did not fix it. Now they are recommending total transmission replacement with cost at $10K. The wrench light would come on every time a bad shift would occur. Dealer admitted that they have been doing total value body replacements left and right with known transmission issues with 2018 F150.
The transmission was up-shifting from 1st gear to 3rd, then from 6th gear to 8th, then from 8th gear to 10th gear without any increased gas pedal pressure. While at a stop sign and having my foot applied to the brake pedal, the transmission was jumping and jerking the truck forward to move! I had to put my foot harder on the brake pedal to keep the truck from moving into the intersection! I called the dealership and they advised me not to drive our truck, due to possible more damage to the transmission. The dealership told us that it might just be a programming/software issue, that a possible re-flashing of the transmission might be the issue. That the vehicle starts to learn how you drive? We were first charged a service fee to diagnose this transmission about $250.00. I was worried that I would rear end someone, due to this transmission trying to force me forward at every stop! While driving, it was doing a jerking motion that was very forceful. This should be a nationwide recall due to this transmission not responding correctly and possibly causing a serious vehicle accident, not by an operator error! Our mileage was at 48,203 miles when we took it to the dealership. The powertrain is for 5 years or 60,000 miles. We paid $3,520.00 + the $250.00 to diagnose. Ford paid $2,880.00 due to the low mileage and it just ran out of warranty. If you notice any unexplained jerking motion while driving get it checked out ASAP! Ask about Fords Customer Loyalty Score/Financial Assistance to help pay for this unexpected bill!
When it gets close to negative temps the door locks won’t work to close the door and the door won’t actually close. I can’t drive with me door open. I have had the recall and door were fixed 2021 and it is a occurred event
When accelarating the truck jerks or hesitatess as if it is struggling to get to the next gear.
Door latch wont latch in cold condition. Once warmed up it works fine.
Passenger door will not stay latched during cold weather. Have to hold the door closed to keep it from opening, takes about 30 minutes for it to latch again after vehicle is fully warm. Huge safety hazard, door could come open at anytime or the worst case scenario someone could fall out of vehicle.
Mileage: 100,759
My 2018 Ford F-150, 3.5l Ecoboost truck is experiencing hard shifting between gears. The transmission races in the lower gear and then has a hard think into the next gear.
Vehicles 2018. To. 2020 have excessive oil consumption can cause engine failure and emissions problems due to high oil being burned .manufacture fail to fix the engine problem a technical service bulletin has been issued to bypass the real problem with the engine and emissions problem
Twelve months ago I took my truck in for service and was informed that the rear lug nuts were compressed and needed to be replaced. I did so and paid over $130. Yesterday, I again took my vehicle in for service and was informed that the front lug nuts were compressed and paid $141 plus labor to have those replaced. Dealer indicated that this was a common issue found on Ford F-150 vehicles. When I asked if there was a recall on the lug nuts, the service manager said, "No, but there should be." I find it unusual that lug nuts have this type of problem.....I have been driving for 53 years and always have my tires regularly rotated and balanced and have never in the past been told the lug nuts had failed and required replacement. Have you had other complaints regarding Ford lug nut compression?
My 10-speed transmission started jumping gears at about 50 to 55,000, miles. I asked my Ford dealership to do a complete check of the vehicle at 58,000 mi because it was close to the 60,000 mi warranty. They told me there was nothing wrong with the truck oil change on the road off. I went. At 63,000 mi it started shifting skipping gears as it downshifted. It would jump when I went from Park to reverse or reverse to drive. I took it in to have it checked and they said the 10 speed transmission was going out. The estimate was $9,000 to replace the transmission. A third of what my truck was currently worth and having been paid off I was not happy. I've had two transmissions put in since last February and they are doing the same thing the original was. However, now it's more extensive. I would be in the passing Lane doing 75 to 80 and it dropped from 10th year to first gear and jump back the 10th gear and lost Ford momentum which put me in a bad position in the passing Lane. That was the first transmission they put in. Changed it out for another transmission cuz it was under warranty. This one did nearly the same thing. How are the RPMs? I noted were just going wacky as it dropped from 10th to 8th. Jumped back up to 10th chugged and bucked and finally smoothed out. Again as in the passing lane. The first transmission was on its first vacation, 5 hours from home when they threw the wrench onto the dash board display. The second time it happened last week, I was an hour north of home. Both times I had to turn around repack a different car to leave on vacation or the long weekend. I'm again without a vehicle. Todd, I feel is trustworthy to go on any long distance drives. My faith and forward is fading. This is my fourth vehicle and I have loved the three previous ones. The 10-speed transmission is trash pieces and they know it. Why isn't your Ford doing something about it?
The alarm system and hazards will randomly go on and will not turn off until you start vehicle and hit the hazard light button. If you hit the hazard button while the vehicle is off, it does not turn the hazards off. They will often remain flashing even if the horn/alarm system isn't blaring. At times hitting the hazard button has made the horn go off. The truck has started locking itself and keypad will not work to unlock only the key fob. Truck has not been driven at night since this has occurred to notice if its affecting the headlights. We have noticed that it is also affecting the cabin climate controls (air conditioning/heat). The source of the problem appears to be a malfunction with the Body Control Module (BCM). Prior to these issues arising, there were no warning or messages that appeared on the dash. The truck has been driving great. Now the check engine light is on and have to disconnect the battery so that it doesn't go off in the middle of the night again.
Tailgate keeps falling down while traveling down the road. This has happened several times. This time after it hit the trailer after backing it up at the end of the trip.
Since purchasing the vehicle the infotainment system has and always been substandard. Which is very frustration when your purchasing a new truck. There seem to be many glitches to the system and never reacted the same way twice when I had to reprogram it every time I got into the vehicle. It became an unreliable way to communicate and very unsafe. I felt very insecure using the system knowing that I would have to readjust or touch the infotainment to make it work had to pull over on the side of the road a lot. I believe that this product is completely faulty and could have been a fatal flaw for Many f150 drivers.
I was stopped at a traffic light and all of a sudden my rear window exploded. It sent glass forward richoceting of the front windshield into my eyes. It was like a gun shot was fired into my truck. This caused me to have post traumatic stress. This and the fact that no one believed me that the rear window spontaneously exploded. Since my care was paid for, the window was paid out of pocket adding insult to injury
Sitting in the parked vehicle when suddenly the back window shattered.
While driving my truck along the highway on April 29, 2024, it spontaneously burst into flames. I pulled it over, and it was completely engulfed in flames and melted into a puddle of molten aluminum. In the last 18 month, this truck has spent over 45 days at the dealership with 10 separate repairs including transmission replacement, cylinder heads, oil leaks, all under 75,000 miles. The smoke and smell began under the back seat passenger floorboards, and within 45 seconds, was burning. I have pictures, video, witnesses, and police reports for corroboration. There was no accident, no impact, no nothing. It simply lit itself on fire.
Rear view camera is blurry
Transmission shifting hard, jerking and causing the engine to lose power causing road safety hazards fr e and others
Rear window is held in place with a piece of trim, which is held in place by double-sided tape. It is a safety issue as the window can become dislodged and injured occupants. Ford is aware of this as the Ford company Refuses to fix this on many of the forum websites.. this has been going on since 2015. It is also a safety issue as anyone can easily push the window open with their hand, and could access the vehicle to steal it, or to injure the occupants. Based on the few forums that I looked up under Google, there are hundreds of vehicles like this, and probably tens of thousands. Ford has failed to issue and fails to repair the window as they say it’s a piece of trim although the trim is what holds in the window. Essentially a few small pieces of tape hold the window in and this should’ve never been built like this. I’m counting on nhtsa to do a full investigation and protect me and my family.
On [XXX] I dropped of my truck at Jim Click Green Valley/Sahuarita Arizona. I was hearing a knocking noise while truck in parked / stopped position. On [XXX], I was advised the truck was ready for pick up. The results read, “C/S: Engine knock in engine bay *check and advise -partners Perform engine diag perform 2 extensive test drive load test the vehicle and listen to the engine noise, only the normal high pressure pump noise all ok at this time.” Very concerning results as noise not present until recently and not what would be considered normal especially with “…all ok at this time.” Extended warranty expires in less than 5,000 miles. The hood latch has failed on my ford F-150. My security system alarms when it happens. It has happened while I have driven and during times when there are changes in temperature. When searching for this, I came across a number of others that have had similar issues with their ford F150/ F250s and Expeditions. I am surprised ford has not recalled it due safety hazard of a failing hood latch. Additionally the main horn has failed. Again searching has found that other people with similar models and years from ford have the same issue with the horn. Both are safety concerns.
Driving and the transmission coolant lines all rusted & broke. As a result, coolant fluid will leak completely therefore potential damage to other components. This was an issue with some older model Ford F150 too. Worse part is that 2 of the needed parts are on backorder with no expected dates for availability.
Rear window shattering when remote started and auto rear defogger auto engaged 1-22-24
The 4WD system tries to engage on its own only in cold weather for the first 1/2 to 1 mile of driving. Somehow the vacuum isn’t holding.
On January 16, 2024 We had been driving in 4 wheel drive. When we arrived home put the truck in 2 wheel drive, then in park, set the emergency brake and got out. We went in the house. A minute or two later the alarm on the truck started up. When I opened the door the truck was rolling down the driveway into the street. On January 17, 2024 We again had been driving in 4 wheel drive. Arrived home put it back in 2 wheel drive, put it in park, set the emergency brake and got out. My husband sat in the driver's side while I got my twin granddaughters out of the passenger side because the driver's side rear door doesn't work properly in icy weather. As I as unbuckling my granddaughter's seat the truck began rolling down the driveway. I had to run away from the truck. I ended up hitting ice, falling on my back and hitting my head hard. Later in the day we took it out and tried it again and had the same results. Even with the truck in park and the emergency brake engaged the truck rolled down a slight incline.
While I was driving slow on a dirt road and after driving for like an hour on an Interstate road engine just shut off and got a message on my dashboard. I tried to upload the picture I took and the message appeared on my dashboard but it’s not letting me.
Auto start stop button is clearly malfunctioning. Battery is good, alternator good. Even if I hold in the button to keep it shut off, my truck with just shut off in the middle of driving and tell me to place in park and restart. Dangerous and after research i’m only 1 out of thousands with same issue
Transmission, on 5 year F150 truck slips, and sometimes wont go in revers, huge safety issue. This issue almost caused an accident a few time in one week. We took truck to dealership. They did concur it is not drivable IF NOT FIXED This is a huge safety issue for all 2018 f150 trucks. we never received any recall info on truck if there were any. imagine a vehicle you cant go in reverse , or transmission stops as you pull into an intersection. luckily for us our family was not involved in an accident. a 5 year old vehicle's transmission should not fail on any manufacture.. According to several 2018 f150 owners this is an issue. someone will die in a accident if this is not addressed.
This was the letter I initiattly include dthe [email protected] to ford. Dear Ford Motor Company, I'm writing to you as a concerned parent of a 6-year-old child and consumer of your product regarding critical safety issues reported in the 2017-2020 F150 model, and I'd like to ask Ford to please take action. I compiled some research from numerous affected vehicle owners across various states, highlighting alarming and potentially hazardous health concerns and issues that pose significant risks on highways. Just so you know- I noted the same issues I am having with my vehicle and now have to take my car back to the dealer once again. •Grinding noises and pronounced thumping sensations resembling towing a trailer. •Issues reported from critical sections such as the engine solenoid, transmission, flyer axle/Cam Shaft, deceleration noise, oil consumption, leaks, power loss during turns, and truck bogging down. The research highlighted in the attached document indicates widespread reports across different states and model years (2017-2020), emphasizing the urgent need for immediate attention and resolution. I urgently request: •Initiate a thorough investigation, partnering with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to address these reported concerns promptly. •Encourage proactive involvement from Ford's leadership, including the CEO, advisors, board members, and affiliates, to prioritize consumer safety and resolve these critical issues. •Collaborate transparently with affected consumers and stakeholders to ensure a swift and satisfactory resolution. * Plus there were oil leaks and fumes coming into the cab which can effect me Given the ongoing class action lawsuits around these or similar issues, we stress the gravity and urgency of this situation and implore swift action to prioritize consumer safety and uphold Ford's commitment to excellence. I am awaiting to hear from you and the measures to address these pressing concerns.
Rear window exploded after starting the truck. Glass shards and chunks flew into the truck . This is the 3rd F150 truck that I've owned that has had this happen.
This morning, even after using the remote start to warm up the truck, the door lock mechanism wouldn’t close. My door was ajar and would not latch on its own until several hours later when the temperature was above 30. We used a screwdriver to manually move the latch to the proper place, but it wouldn’t flip to latch it once shut. As soon as a had was released from the door handle the door opened on its own. I couldn’t drive to work without a door that shuts, this caused me to have to miss part of my morning and caused a hardship on not only myself, but those I work with.
When parked, l returned to the vehicle to get my wallet, opened the driver’s side door, got the wallet, then locked and closed the door. Suddenly the rear windshield exploded, leaving a gaping hole and shrapnel in the truck bed!
Air conditioning evaporator builds up mold. Vinegar and moldy/musty smell comes from vents
The tailgate falls down on its own, and yes it is available upon request. I am unable to carry heavy items in my truck bed due to the tailgate not latching securely. The problem has been reproduced numerous times. When I drove the truck off the dealer lot, the tailgate fell down before I even got onto the road. Since then, I bought a replacement part for the tailgate which has helped drastically, but the recall hasn't been repaired so I don't trust my bed with a lot of weight. There are no warning lights or messages for this. I have tried to schedule with local dealerships to repair the recall, but they require me to leave my truck there for two weeks without a loaner. My truck is used for personal and business purposes, and I am unable to properly use it for business purposes which is affecting my income and productivity.
The sunroof rail broken is the big issue for this Ford F-150 from 2015 to 2020. A lot of F150 between 2015 and 2020 have the sunroof issue which manufactures still not recall for this widely sunroof issue. If you search F150 sunroof issue it will come up a lot on the internet. There is no safety risk
Wipes stop working no safety and happen to a lot of them wipes transmission need replaced
I took the truck in for oil change and rotation. One wheel had to have new lug nuts due to then being swollen and had to be drilled off. Which wasn’t a cheap expense. They told me the other 3 wheels were looking a little swollen too. That’s almost 1000$ just for lug nuts and most can’t afford to drop that cost on lugs
APIM is bad. It causes safety issues as the SYNC 3 system is either slow to change or doesn't change at all. Among other issues, I've driven forward in Drive with the SYNC screen still showing the view of the reverse camera. IT interferes with any safety systems that require the APIM to react in a timely manner.
Vista Roof sticks and then glass brackets break leaving the roof in an open and stuck postion.
The problem seems to be the Auto/on/off system. We regularly turn this feature off. On multiple occasions while towing a 22’ travel trailer over 100 miles, the truck will stall when stopping. A bell will sound as it dies. Truck restarts then dies again. Takes several retries and revving engine to keep truck moving through the intersection. Eventually discovered only way to keep truck from stalling at a stop is to have one foot on brake and other on gas pedal. The goal is to keep RPM high. Then when time to move forward comes, rev motor while shifting to drive and lurch forward. This problem only happens when towing. The dealer cannot replicate this issue because it only happens while towing over 100 miles. It puts us in an unsafe situation in an intersection. The truck dies and is difficult to restart as we proceed through the intersection.
In late 2020 Ford issued recall 20C03 to correct a problem with the Daylight running lights. This entailed the reprogramming of the body control module. In so doing they made an error in the new program and inadvertently activated the parking lamps at all times when using the Daylight running lights. This is in violation of the FMVSS No. 108 (Vehicle Lighting Standards) and California Vehicle Code Section 24800 (Driving with Parking Lights). I filed a complaint with Ford Motor Co. and they have repeatedly refused to correct the issue. Now to avoid the possibility of receiving a traffic violation it is necessary to not use a safety feature and drive without Daylight running lights.
My 2018 Ford f-150 super cab has a problem with the doors not latching when it's cold or after a storm and it is below freezing. I have owned this vehicle since Nov. Of 2021 with 35,000 plus miles on it I have had five incidents from 2021 through Dec. Of 2022 where the doors won't unlock or they unlock but won't latch. Doors fly open while driving down the road. Also had one Incident where drivers side door would not unlock but passengers side door did unlock. Had to climb in and out through passengers side door. I now drive with a bungee cord hooked to the drivers side and passengers side doors when it's below freezing to keep my doors from flying open. When this first happened I called my Ford dealer about the problem they told me They were inundated with calls of problems related to the freezing rain storm. They told me to wait until it warmed up and things would start working again.
Unknown Mykey has me hostage. When I purchased my vehicle they only had 1 key. Not realizing that setting up the MyKey for my vehicle, I would be putting myself and others that drive on the road with me grave danger. I purchased my truck in March of 2019 and I the fall of 2021 I didn’t think nothing of it by setting up the Mykey for my Ford F-150. Well without further a due I realized that the restrictions that the Mykey puts on there owners. Driving on the freeway or anywhere one may have to pass another vehicle quickly . Hang onto your hat because the speedometer stops at 80 and you just might find yourself between an on coming vehicle and the vehicle you were trying to get around before he thought about not allot you to… In the last 15 months there’s been to many near misses because of the MyKey restrictions on my speedometer… Ford says they can’t turn the Mykey off without another key….They ant my to pay $400.00 for a spare key… They need an Administration Mykey Key & standard Mykey key to delete the mykey functions. Now to me, that doesn’t make since what so ever to be able to set up the Mykey function with only 1 Key when you need 2 to Defunction them.
My door latch froze open during the recent hard freeze in Louisiana. The door would not latch closed. I had to drive home, holding the door closed with my hand. I previously brought my forward to the dealership because there was a door latch safety recall, but Ford would not fix it, saying I lived in a warm climate.
The rear passenger side door did not latch. My 6 month old son could have fell out because his car seat is on that side. Luckily I noticed it when I was backing out of the driveway and not on the expressway. I pulled back into the drive way and tried to shut the door about 30 times. It would not shut. All the other doors worked fine. The only way to keep the door shut was to hold the door shut and lock the truck. After I did that my door would not unlock. It tried doing it manually but it was stuck in the lock position. It seems something is wrong with the door latch and I am glad that I caught it or my baby could have gotten hurt. The door latches in the truck have to be looked at. I just bought this truck from a dealership last week too.
I opened both front doors this morning after freezing temperatures last night. Once opened neither door would latch close. In order to get my truck to the Ford dealership, my passenger and I both had to physically hold the doors closed while going down the highway. This is the second time this has happened.
2018 Ford F-150 in 28 degree temperature the driver's door latch failed and will not latch and stay closed causing an extremely unsafe and hazardous condition.
2018 Ford F150 with 5.0L V8, front drivers wheel bearings are failing prematurely. My vehicle showed symptoms around 40k miles and replacing both sides wheel hubs at 50k miles. Online Ford forums are have common threads of people addressing the wheel bearing failures and most common with the V8s. OEM parts for each wheel hub from the dealer were $400each. If unaddressed the wheel bearing could fail causing serious safety risks. Owners manual scheduled maintenance does not list replacement of wheel bearings within the first 150k miles.
From the summer of the first year of purchasing the new vehicle on April 4, 2018, due to the very foul smell of urine when the air conditioner was operated, diagnosis and repairs were requested to more than 4 dealers in New York City, but only the opinion was presented that there was nothing wrong except for cleaning methods, and every summer I constantly asked other dealers for diagnosis and repair, but it didn't work. However, I have continuously commissioned the dealer every year to solve this problem, and the dealer of the current ford lincoln of queen said that if the warranty repair is not possible, the owner must pay the cost to do the work, and the warranty repair that I have part, but they are due to the borrower's faulty use No warranty repairs due to Since there has been a problem since the first year of purchasing the vehicle, I have continued to request repairs until now, but they have ignored them and dealt with things in a disrespectful and formal way, causing mental and physical pain up to this point. My warranty repair insurance is until April 2025 Since there was a problem with it from the time I bought the new vehicle, I continuously requested repairs every year to the present. In other words, they are demanding repair costs with the excuse of consumer responsibility and negligence now that they have secondary functions.
This has happened to me several times over the last year. While towing and decelerating the engine shuts off and the following error message appears "Auto startstop manual restart required". This appears to only happen when towing and the rpms are under 800. Restarting the engine is difficult. This has happened at exit ramps, stop lights and in slow traffic. This is very dangerous and has almost caused an accident.
The rear end of the vehicle failed and had to be completely replaced. I believe this was caused due to the ten speed transmission issues that have been reported for Ford F-150's from 2017-2020. The failure was less than ten thousand miles after the powertrain warranty had expired costing $3,467.32. This incident happened in May of 2021. The truck has also had problems with the fuel system and the engine running roughly but hasn't cause any major damage just diagnostic and repair bills from ford.
Transmission jerks when putting it in gear.
I was driving on the highway at 65 mph. A warning light came on saying my driver's side blind spot warning was not working. Then immediately a warning light with a wrench came on and said that there was a problem with the transmission. Then my truck shut down completely. It is not able to start, and the Ford dealer says they have no idea why.
My truck has an automatic start-stop feature. About twice a month, when I am at a stop and the auto stop shuts down the engine, the whole truck will shut down. I will then have to put the transmission into park, turn the key to off and then restart the truck. A warning light comes up on my front display which says Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine. The A with the arrow around it is in orange. This has caused me many issues in traffic and I have been close to getting rear ended on multiple occasions because of it. I have had it to the dealer, Haldeman Ford of Kutztown, on 5 different occasions over the past 6 months and it is still not resolved. The dealership has replaced the battery, did a system reboot and replaced the starter. I have shown them pictures and videos of it happening. They put a computer scanner on my truck that I had to use to record when it happened which I did. They were also able to experience it themselves during one service appointment. My first service appointment was 3.14.2022
WHEN IS RUNIING AC BAD SMALL COMES VENTILATION A WHILE ..
At lower speeds the truck dies. Sometimes does not turn back on right away. I’ve taken it to 3 different dealerships, and no codes have been found.
On multiple occasions there is an error displayed which states, “Hood opened”. Upon inspection the hood in latched shut. This warning will not show for weeks at a time and then it will return unexpectedly although the hood is still latched closed. Investigation on F150forums.com shows this has occurred to multiple F150 models. I spoke with a dealership and they stated they are not aware of any hood latch issues. This issue also causes the alarm to trigger as it detects someone tampering with the hood. In addition when attempting to verify the vehicle is locked (by clicking the lock button twice) the truck will sometimes honk the horn twice which means something on the vehicle is not closed properly. Finally, this issue does not allow the truck to remote start as it does not identify as the truck being completely secured.
After towing a trailer for a few hours, the truck has difficulty cranking over after the truck has been turned off for refueling. It seems like the battery or alternator are bad, but I have had both checked and they are in good shape. This only happens when pulling a trailer. This has happened multiple times. The safety concern is being stranded on a road trip. Others have this issue on the 2018 f150 as well. I have read about this. Some have said a wire is overheating.
The vehicles transmission randomly malfunctions slamming into and dropping out of gear and slamming back into gear causing vehicle to lose responsiveness. The dealer has informed me its 2018 F150s and Expeditions and they do not have a fix.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while checking the oil level, he noticed that there was no oil on the dipstick. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had added oil several weeks ago. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Mileage: 30,000
The AIPM on my truck has been bugged 2 days after the warranty expired (05/2021). The infotainment screen becomes unresponsive, drops Bluetooth connectivity, or extremely slow. This originally happened a couple times a week but now is constant. The truck currently has 39k miles
Auto start stop system stopped engine and would not automatically restart in traffic when using accelerator. Vehicle required that I place vehicle back into park and restart manually.
The rear tailgate opens while driving the truck. The latch does not retract after opening allowing the tailgate to fall open while driving. It falls open even after returning it to the closed position. Items stored in the truck bed can fall out on to the road while driving, toward other drivers. Upon dealer inspection, it was recommended full replacement for a cost of $420. There were no warnings, lights or alarms when this happens. For this to happen with limited usage of the tailgate on a truck with ~41K miles, seems like a defect. The tailgate has opened while driving multiple times.
Electronic tailgate opens on its own while driving or parked. Happened several times while driving @ a month ago (today is 3/16/22) when after 3 different stops my tailgate was down. 1st time I thought my son may not have come it tightly. I closed it both times afterwards. Next morning it was down and almost obstructed garage door. I did some trial and error (below) before contacting salesperson at Ford Dealership where purchased describing the issue and the numerous recalls similar model tailgates and set up service appt. While in garage where it is quiet-you can hear the latch constantly unlocking - sometimes rapid fire. Doesn't matter if keys are near it, inside the vehicle, or nowhere close/out of range. Doesn't seem to be an issue whether wet or dry. I tried changing batteries in key FOB as well. Due to the numerous recalls for the F250-450 in the US, F150 recall in Canada, & now the F150 recall for 2021 models all having the exact same issue, I had a 9:00AM service appt at a SE Michigan dealership this morning and was told it didn't fit the recall/hasn't been formally recalled. Fortunately I did not lose anything put of the back when it happened but it's an obvious safety issue. Seems ridiculous that the 2018 F150s (& other yrs aligning with 250 recalls/F150s in Canada) haven't been recalled as well. All share same latch.
Ford sync , navigation became off after update. Would send to wrong address, exit off highway only to turn around , tell me to exit after being able to safely change lanes , said I was in Michigan when in delaware. System was so bad that I would consider it to be unsafe. Ford is charging customers to update system even though it was their update that is causing isses.
Lug nuts swelling and deformed. Issue was noted during routine maintenance at certified Ford service center.
It was freezing temperatures outside and went to shut my door and would not latch. I then tried other doors and encountered the same problem. Door latches or locks must have been frozen and not operating correctly.
Turned on defroster, rear window shattered. Car was parked.
When the weather drops below 20 degrees the driver side door latch either won't open or won't relatch when you shut then door; leaving the door to potentially open while driving down the road.
During below freezing temperatures the door latches on passenger doors once opened would not latch. Had to hold door shut to get home. Talked to Ford dealership and they said there had been these issues and a recall. No warning lights. First time happened January 2,2022 then January 3, 2022
door latches freezes up in the cold . ford had a recall on them so i took it to William's Ford in Sayre Pa last year they did what Ford told them to do twice and i was back several times after that because it did not work and then i went to the dealership where i bought it at and spoke to Tony sales management and he was working on getting the problem fix with no luck threw his rep. and Ford Motor Co . then i called Ford customer complaint an got no where with them but they did call William's Ford to fix at my expense and said no i am not paying for something Ford has a known problem with . then weather was getting warmer so i had no issues and still did not fix the problem . now to day it 25 degree and went to get in doors opened ok but would not shut 3out of the 4 would not latch then i call the William's Ford Garage and they said they can not do anything to help me with this on going problem then i call the dealership to once again to speak with Tony and he off until next tuesday but iam sure not going to get anwhere with him tho i think he tries because that were i bought it but then he only can do what Ford Motor Co tells him to do .i run with a local fire co and last yr was twice i drove home hanging on the door and i let the garage and Tony know a still got nowhere . so to me it is a big safty problem that ford knows about and just getting away from fixing the problem . just last week i meet a guy that works at Matthew's pre - owend vehicles in Vestal Ny with the same problem and gets nowhere with Ford he told me startes the truck up leave a gap in door and turn the heat on high and 4 to 5 minutes later they work .so i guess your my last resort
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds the vehicle would slip out of gear and shift up and down gears without warning. The contact stated no warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000.

I'm not sure what category to place this in. The under cover for the oil pan transmission is dragging . I did not hit anything or tear it lose in anyway. It seemed to get wet and just started dropping. This is made of a ''felt'' type material instead of plastic or metal. It is is a huge safety hazard. The piece dragging could cause heat and a friction fire. Or it could fall off and cause a traffic accident or damage to vehicles on the road behind. I looked on line and found this is very common in these trucks and seems to be occurring more than not. not. There is an entire forum dedicated to this. I have temporarily zip tied the cover up but it is still dropping bad. I do not think an owner should be out over $200.00 to fix this when it is a obviously a manufacturer defect.
I was pulling my F150 out into a busy intersection from a hardware store exit when my vehicle completely stopped moving on October 19, 2021. I couldnt pull forward/backward and was almost hit broadside by another vehicle. My engine light came on and an error indicating that the BLISS with Crosstown Traffic had a concern. My transmission indicators were also not working. I shut the vehicle off and restarted and could only back up the vehicle into the parking lot. I was able to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the module and then restart the vehicle which then appeared to operate normal. I proceded out of the lot and the vehicle failed again. The vehicle was subsequently towed to Dean Arbour Ford in West Branch Michigan where it sits today October 26, 2021 still in the cue to be serviced. I feel that this is a very dangerous concern since it disabled the transmission in the middle of a busy intersection which could have caused a traumatic accident. Had this occurred at higway speed it may have been even more dangerous. Failure of the BLISS module should never disable the transmission.
Transmission slipped while passing an 18-wheeler causing me to lose speed from 70 miles an hour down to about 40 miles an hour with vehicles behind me and nowhere to go. Transmission continued to slip for the remainder of my trip- New Mexico to California. I could not keep with the flow of traffic due to the issue. On various occasions I was forced to pull off the side of the road until traffic cleared in order for me to continue.
my tailgate opened on its own while i was pulling a trailer and the tailgate got all scratched up . This isn't the first time its opened on its own .ford had put an update on the truck after the first time that was supposed to resolve the issue . I took it back to the dealer and they looked it over and said they can't find any problems now. i don't feel they were being honest in there assessment or did they look very hard to fix this issue . if the tailgate opens again on its own it could be very dangerous for any traffic behind as unsecured cargo could fall out at highway speeds .
The auto start stop feature malfunctions. When you pull up to a stop sign/red light and the engine is somewhat warm, the engine may fail to start again or be very slow to start. When the engine does not start, it becomes a hazard as you must fully power down truck, return truck to park, and restart the engine all from a stop sign/redlight. This could be very hazardous if one needed to move out of the way of a moving vehicle from a stop.
1. UNKNOWN/ Sometimes while driving the vehicle will try to bog down and rapidly loose power and then will pick up power as if its being starved for either fuel or power. 2. REAR DOOR OPEN INDICATOR/ My indicator light is on and it is saying that the rear door is open. My grandchildren ride in the rear seat of my truck and may be at risk of the door flying open. It also sets my alarm off over in the night time because the system is saying that the door is open.
The Sync 3 that controls the Accessory Protocol Interface Module is failing and locking up. This is affecting Bluetooth phone calls that could interfere with emergency calls as well as navigation and audio. After finding several Ford recalls for this system, we performed a software update like suggested on Ford's website which did not correct the problem. Vehicle has 55k miles on it and was just driven off a dealer lot less than a week ago.
While driving in 'Tow Mode' engine will shut down when coming to a traffic stop. Dash panel message "AUTO STARTSTOP SHIFT TO P, THEM RESTART ENGINE" will appear. Restarting engine requires either a wait period, and an extremely hard(excess gas pedal, immediate shift to drive while revving) restart, with the engine shuttering back to life- as if choking for fuel/air. This occurs while in traffic situations with a trailer behind. At a minimum inconvenient, at a maximum deadly. Dealer is aware, but has not found any issue/solution.
Deceleration then seeing up it locks rear wheels throwing us forward. Very dangerous. Only has 32000 miles on it. Also has erratic shifting at various speeds. Again when we are coming to a stop and speed up before stopping the locking up happens.
The truck is less than 40,000 miles and the dealership states that the entire vista roof frame with cables has to be replaced because it will now not open. It makes a horrible noise and this was confirmed. Also I have had the same dealership check out the white residue that continues to show up on the cover of the steering wheel. They have replaced the cap, but the white residue continues to show up and now that it is out of warranty they will not fix it.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while reserving the vehicle and shifting gears to drive when the vehicle accelerated independently forward. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she crashed into a parked vehicle. Air bags did not deploy. The contact began to pump the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The contact did not have any injuries or seek medical attention. The contact stated there was a state trooper on the screen and witness the failure. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to towing lot and then to a collision repair shop. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000

At random times the ignition switch will not turn, therefore the truck will not start. The steering wheel is not binding. I have tried both keys. There are just days when the ignition will not turn. I took it to the local Ford dealer. Of course the day I took it, the ignition switch turned and I was able to start it and drive it there. I explained that it just won't turn at random times. Since it turned for them, they blew the problem off. Other people have had some problem (as seen on the internet).
Truck parked, rear sliding glass window shattered on it's own with no impact. No one near the vehicle. Thankfully we were not driving or have passengers when this occurred.
Approximately once every 20 times the truck engages the Auto StartStop feature, the vehicle turn off the engine and requires you to place the vehicle in Park and restart the vehicle. I picked up the vehicle from the Dealer after they had it for a week, and they were unable to reproduce the error. The Dealer did have error messages and worked with Ford technicians to clear the error(s), but in my 8th day since having my truck back, it has happened twice. While inconvenient, and I could push the button every time I’m in the truck to disable, this was a nice fuel efficiency perk. Also, it doesn’t happen while driving, only coming to a complete stop. The danger that I fear, is that someone behind me will become impatient/look at the green and drive into my truck. I do have a screenshot of the error.
VEHICLE WAS IN THE GARAGE, PARKED. I GOT IN STARTED THE VEHICLE, HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE WIND CHIMES, GOT OUT, LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND SAW GLASS. I THEN NOTICED THE BACK WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. THERE WAS NEVER ANY IMPACT TO THE WINDOW.

TRUCK WILL STALL WHILE TOWING WHEN COMING TO A STOP AT EXIT. WILL NOT RESTART EASILY. PUT TRUCK IN PARK, CRANK TILL STARTS, REV ENGINE AND SHIFT INTO DRIVE AND KEEP RPMS UP TO DRIVE AWAY. WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AFTER STOPPING FOR GAS. WHILE TOWING , I WILL FUEL AT THE HALF TANK LEVEL. IT HAPPENS A LOT ON HOT DAYS. USUALLY AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS + OF DRIVING . NO CODES THROWN AT ANY TIME. I CANNOT REPLICATE THE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT MAKE THIS EVENT HAPPEN. WHEN IT OCCURS, I NEED TO PLACE MY VEHICLE INTO PARK AND TURN THE KEY OVER. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN ON A HIGHWAY, OR ON A BUSY INTERSECTION. THIS ISSUE IS DESCRIBED IN GREAT DETAIL HERE: HTTPS://WWW.F150FORUM.COM/F118/AUTO-STARTSTOP-ERROR-437920/ UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS, MY VEHICLE WILL START AND STOP TO SAVE FUEL (FORD'S AUTO-START STOP SYSTEM). I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE PROGRAMMING OF THE AUTO-START STOP FUNCTION. LOSING ALL POWER ON THE HIGHWAY, A BUSY INTERSECTION, ETC. IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY HAZARD FOR EVERYONE.

MY FORD F150 BEGAN TO HAVE TWO DISTINCT RATTLES AT ABOUT 1 YEAR OLD AND 15,000 MILES. ONE RATTLE HAPPENS WHEN MY FOOT COMES OFF THE GAS AND SOUNDS LIKE A FLUTTER LIKE SOMETHING IS LOOSE. THE OTHER RATTLE HAPPENS AT 1500 RPM AND SOUNDS LIKE A METAL ON METAL OR A CHAIN RATTLE. THIS HAPPENS ON PUBLIC PAVED STREETS. THE FORD DEALERSHIP VERIFIED MY CONCERN WITH BOTH NOISES AND WORKED WITH FORD WITH MORE THAN 10 ATTEMPTED REPAIRS. I HAVE THE LIST OF ATTEMPTED REPAIRS THAT I CAN SHARE BUT THEY INCLUDE CHAIN TENSIONERS REPLACEMENT, EXHAUST INSPECTION, REPROGRAM, PHASERS REPLACEMENT, TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT, AND VCT SOLENOIDS REPLACEMENT. NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP NOR FORD KNOWS WHAT IS WRONG BUT CLAIMS IT IS A "COMMON CHARACTERISTIC" AFTER OVER 35 TOTAL DAYS OF ATTEMPTING TO BE REPAIRED OVER SEVERAL MONTHS. I AM NOT THE ONLY F150 OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM. WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE TRUCK, I DO NOT KNOW IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. I CONTACTED BBB WHO VERIFIED THAT I AM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE LEMON LAW AND ADVISED ME TO CONTACT YOUR ORGANIZATION TO ADDRESS MY SAFETY CONCERN. I DID NOT GET ANYTHING IN WRITING THAT SAYS THE TRUCK IS SAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT WORRIES ME.

(BELOW FREEZING) DOOR LATCH MALFUNCTIONED. CAN OPEN DOOR, WHEN CLOSING, DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT, ATTEMPTED TO RE-CLOSE DOOR, WILL NOT LATCH. IT IS ESSENTIALLY FROZEN IN THE OPEN POSITION AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE DOOR TO LATCH. SOMETIMES, YOU CAN CLICK THE LOCK BUTTON AND THE DOOR WOULD LATCH, HOWEVER, ON SOME OCCASIONS, THE DOOR WOULD NOT EVEN LATCH IN THE LOCK POSITION. THERE WAS A RECALLS FOR THIS (AROUND MARCH OF YEAR 2020), WHICH HAS BEEN COMPLETED BY A LOCAL FORD DEALER. HOWEVER, THIS SAME ISSUE HAS RE-SURFACED (JANUARY 2021). THE REAL CONCERN IS THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGER AND THAT THE DOORS WILL NOT LATCH PROPERLY. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE FIRST RECALL WAS A ONE TIME DEAL, IF THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN, THE CUSTOMER HAS TO PAY THE REPAIR COST. FORD SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR CORRECTION AND PAYING FOR THIS ISSUE.

HI, ISSUE 1: STEERING & SAFETY RELATED. LOSS OF ASSIST OF THE STEERING SYSTEM AFTER VEHICLE IS COMING OUT OF AUTO STARTSTOP MODE. APPEARS TO BE COLD TEMPERATURE RELATED 35-45F. CITY STEET. (LAST INCIDENT - 6 MILE RD - NORTHVILLE). DRIVEN < 0.5 MILE FROM HOME TO SCHOOL (VEHICLE DIDN'T REACH NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE) NO POWER STEERING ASSIST FOR UP TO 5 SECONDS WITH ENGINE RUNNING AFTER START STOP. HAS NOW OCCURRED WITH A HIGH SEVERITY (NO ASSIST) > 5 TIMES. SOME OCCASIONS IT APPEARS THAT THE RAMP UP OF ASSIST IS DELAYED BY 0.5 TO 1 SECONDS. FORD DEALER EXAMINED AND COULDN'T FIND ISSUE IN 2020. UPON MY SECOND VISIT THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND SAID THEY FOUND A FAULT CODE. ALSO CONTACT FORD HOTLINE FOR ASSISTANCE, WITHOUT SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION. ISSUE IS STILL PRESENT AND NOT RESOLVED. 2 INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN VERY CLOSE TO SEVERE FRONT IMPACT FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC DUE TO THE GREAT DIFFICULTY TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WITHOUT ASSIST. THE TURNING TORQUE IS SO GREAT THE LAST INCIDENT CAUSED PHYSICAL INJURY/PAIN TO MY WRISTS DUE TO THE URGENCY TO MAKE THE TURN WITH THE ONCOMING VEHICLE AND WRENCHING ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET THE TRUCK TO TURN ACROSS THE LANE INTO THE ROAD. LAST ISSUE A FEW WEEKS AGO. I HAVE BEEN MANUALLY TURNING OFF THE AUTO STARTSTOP EACH TIME TO AVOID THE ISSUE. I AM SCHEDULED FOR SERVICE AT TOM HOLZER FORD AND WILL AGAIN ASK THEM TO INVESTIGATE AND RESOLVE THE ISSUE. ISSUE 2: AUTOMOTIVE WIPERS APPEAR TO BE TRIGGERED BY SUNLIGHT / CHANGING LIGHT CONDITIONS WHEN NO RAIN IS PRESENT ON THE WINDSHIELD.

DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH FROZE OPEN AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH/STAY CLOSED. IT WAS 27 DEGREES THIS MORNING. I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. EVENTUALLY AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND CLOSING THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES, IT FINALLY LATCHED. I PREVIOUSLY HAD FORD'S DOOR LATCH RECALL PERFORMED TO FIX THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER, IT SEEMS THIS RECALL DOES NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM. MANY OTHERS HAVE EXPRESSED CONTINUED FREEZING VIA VARIOUS FORD FORUMS AFTER HAVING THE FROZEN DOOR LATCH RECALL PERFORMED.

MY VEHICLE I PURCHASED IN 2019 SECOND OWNER IS NOW NOT RUNNING. I AM UNSURE AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON OR WHY IT STALLED ON ME APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AGO. I FILED A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY THEY CLOSED IT WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. I HAD IT TOWED HOME. IT WILL START UP BUT IT HAS A REALLY LOUD CLANGING IN THE MOTOR AREA. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH IT. MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN NEGLECTED AND IT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S NOT RUNNING TO ONLY BE 2 YEARS OLD. I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER FROM WORK IN TOWN. I NOTICED A VERY LOUD SOUND AND I PULLED OVER AT A LOCAL CIRCLE K AND IT DIDN'T START BACK UP AT THAT TIME. I AM FINDING RECALLS, BUT NOT SPECIFIC TO MY VIN.

MY RAPTOR HAD BEEN PARKED IN GARAGE FOR SEVERAL DAYS, WHEN I OPENED DOOR TO GET OUT SOMETHING. UPON CLOSING THE DOOR THE BACK WINDOW EXPLODED OUTWARDLY. I STUDIED THIS ONLINE OVER THE WEEKEND AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ON IT. FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM. IT WAS BETWEEN 65-70 WHEN THIS HAPPENED. MOST COMPLAINTS SAID IT HAPPENED WHILE THEY WAS DRIVING. FORD INSISTS SOMETHING HIT THEM. ALL OF THEM OVER THE YEARS?? MINE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE WITH ANOTHER CAR IN PERFECT WEATHER. WE ARE GRATEFUL OUR SMALL GRANDCHILDREN WASN'T CLOSE. THE FORCE CAN BE SEEN IN THE PICTURES. FORD NEEDS TO BE MADE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THEY REFUSED OUR WARRANTY WHEN TRUCK ONLY HAS 22,000 MILES.

WHILE VEHICLE IS SITTING STATIONARY OR PARKED. DURING RAINY WEATHER WATER LEAKS IN AT TOP OF REAR DOOR AT THE TOP LATCH WHERE IT RUNS DOWN THROUGH THE PANEL EXITING AT THE FIRST SEAM WHERE IT RUNS DOWN THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL TO THE MAT. PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH 36K MILES (2018) AND HAVE OWNED FOR LESS THAN ONE MONTH. WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE SUNROOF FOR THE FIRST TIME THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING SOUND. THE SUNROOF FAILS TO OPEN, AND NOW RAIN LEAKS IN THROUGH THE ROOF. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A $72K VEHICLE THAT IS TWO YEARS OLD. SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OVER 36K MILES, THE DEALERSHIP (FORD DEALER) REFUSES TO FIX.

WENT TO CONVENIENCE STORE AND PARKED TRUCK. THIS TRUCK WAS PARKED, GEAR SHIFTER MOVED TO PARK POSITION, ENGINE TURNED OFF. WENT INTO STORE AND WHEN WE CAME OUT, THE TRUCK HAD ROLLED BACKWARD AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. WENT IN TRUCK AND VERIFIED IT WAS STILL IN PARK. REPORTED THIS TO FORD AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCK. I KNOW THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER SIMILAR ISSUES WITH F150 FOR OTHER MODEL YEARS AND FOR THIS SAME MODEL YEAR. HAVE YOU SEEN ANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR ISSUE? THIS COST OVER $6,000 FOR REPAIRS AND IS A HAZARD.
DYNAMIC CRUISE CONTROL WILL RANDOMLY STOP WORKING ALL TOGETHER OR JUST STOP SEEING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT AND START TO SPEED UP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND EVERY TIME THEY SAY CAN'T REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. SEE ATTACHED ALERT TO MY MOBILE APP SHOWING THE MALFUNCTION.

DOORS DO NOT LATCH WHEN COLD OUTSIDE. WHEN STATIONARY, THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER DOORS AS WELL AS THE LEFT PASSENGER DOOR HAS THIS ISSUE WHERE THE DOOR WILL OPEN, BUT WILL NOT LATCH WHEN CLOSED. SOMETIMES I CAN LOCK THE DOORS WITH THEM OPEN TO GET THEM TO LATCH, BUT THEN WHEN I GO TO OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN, IT WILL STAY LOCKED AND WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS A CHILD IN THE BACK AND YOU CAN'T ACCESS THEM THROUGH THE DOOR YOU PUT THEM IN THROUGH.

FORD F-150 2018 SUPER CREW CAB 1ST WATER LEAK INSIDE OF OUR TRUCK CAB CREATED A MILDEW SMELL DUE TO WET CARPET PADDING AND CARPETS. WATER SATURATED ELECTRICAL WIRING UNDER THE DOOR SEAL PROTECTORS ON THE RIGHT-SIDE OF THE FRONT AND REAR DOORS. FIRST NOTICED A PROBLEM DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES WE HEARD A WATER SLOSHING SOUND ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TRUCK. INDICATIONS OF WATER IN CAB AND SATURATED CARPET'S AND WIRING WENT UNNOTICED DUE TO WEATHER TECH FULL FLOOR MATS. WE CONTACTED FORD CORPORATION ONLINE AND THEY ADVISED FOR US TO TAKE IT INTO OUR DEALERSHIP TO BE ASSESSED. OUR DEALERSHIP MADE AN APPOINTMENT A WEEK OUT, SO OUR TRUCK SAT IN OUR GARAGE FOR AN ADDITIONAL WEEK. WE USED A SHOP VAC AND SUCKED OUT AS MUCH WATER AS WE COULD AND LEFT THE DOOR WINDOWS DOWN TO HELP DRY OUT THE INTERIOR. THE DEALERSHIP REMOVED AND REINSTALLED THE TRIM PANELS WITH SILICONE SEALANT ON BOTH DOORS ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

THIS IS A CONTINUATION WITH COMPLAINT NUMBER 11307725 ALREADY FILED. FORD F-150 2018 SUPER CREW CAB 2ND DISCOVERY OF WATER LEAK IN CAB OF TRUCK WITH WET CARPET PADDING AND CARPETS AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME THE WATER LEAK WAS BEHIND THE BACK SEATS DOWN THE CAB WALL INTERIOR. CALLED OUR FORD DEALERSHIP BACK AND TOOK OUR TRUCK BACK IN FOR THEM TO ASSESS THIS 2ND WATER LEAK. OUR FORD DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE TRUCK BED TO FIND THIS WATER LEAK COMING IN FROM THE REAR CAB VENTS AND LOCKING TABS ON VENTS. THEY ALSO FOUND THE CARPET INSULATOR WAS BEHIND THE REAR VENTS WHICH CAUSED THE VENT SEAL TO WARP AND LEAK. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR VENTS COMPLETELY THEN THEY RETESTED FOR LEAKS AND FOUND NO LEAKS AT THAT TIME. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE TRUCK BED BOLTS AND HAD TO RESPRAY IN THE BED LINER OVER THE BOLTS.

FORD CURRENTLY HAS AN ISSUE WITH DOOR LATCHES NOT LATCHING SHUT. I'VE HAD MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR COME OPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH MY DAUGHTER SITTING THERE SCARED TO DEATH. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I'VE HAD MY TRUCK IN SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL FIX AND THE SAME PROBLEM STILL EXISTS I HAVE HAD IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES NOW AND IT STILL IS NOT CORRECTED. THE FRONT DASHBOARD WARPED UP IN FRONT AND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OVER THE AIRBAG. IT WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP , FORD REDD MCCOMBS. FORD COMPANY APPROVED TO REPLACE THE DASH. IT WAS REPLACED AFTER 5 MONTHS WAITING. AND NO UNCERTAINTY OF SAFETY OF DASHBOARD OVER THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ,POSSIBLY DEPLYING OR EXPLODING. THE SECOND DASH REPLACEMENT HAS WARPED IN THE SAME AREAS AND MORE. THE AREAS OVER THE PASSENGER AIR BAG, AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE ON FRONT DASHBOARD. THE COMPANY AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP HAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE DASHBOARDS ARE WARPING . I HAVE SEEN AND PHOTOGRAPHED MANY OTHER TRUCKS WITH SAME MAKE AND MODEL AND THE SUFFER THE SAME PROBLEM. IF A PERSON IS NOT LOOKING FOR THE PROBLEM ,THEY WILL NEVER SEE IT UNTIL IT GETS WORSE AND THE WARRENTY HAS EXPIRED AND THEY ARE PROBABLY THINKING ITS THE TEXAS HEAT AND SUN. BUT THIS IS A TRUE VEHICLE HAZARD AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE ADDRESSED FURTHER IF YOU ALL DON'T WISH TO HELP OR GUIDE ME INTO THE RIGHT DIRECTION. IYS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN AND ITS IN ALL F150 TRUCKS FROM 2017 TO 2020. I HAVE SEEN THE FLAW IN THE 2020 MODEL AT THE CAR SHOW THAT WAS HELD IN SAN ANTONIO TX, BACK IN NOVEMBER ,2019.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE DEALER KNOWING IT WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR CRASHED BUT STILL IS A CLEAN TITLE I HOPED THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED TODAY I FOUND OUT THERE'S BODY OR FRAME DAMAGE BEHING THE DOOR WHEN I OPEN OR CLOSE IT IT MAKES A NOISE LIKE AN OLD RUSTY CAR,IT WAS STATIONARY WHEN I OPENED IT AND SAW THE DAMAGE
WHEN STARTING MY F-150 THERE'S WAS A LOUD POP I SUDDENLY TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE THEN TURNED IT ON AGAIN BUT IT DID NOT MAKE ANY ODD NOISES. WHEN PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT ACCELERATION WAS ACTING UP O HEARD ANOTHER POP AND MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY WENT INTO LIMP MODE SLOWING MY VEHICLE WAY DOWN CAUSING ME TO NEARLY GET REAR ENDED. FROM THERE I MANAGED TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DROPPED OFF THE VEHICLE THE GUY AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT I WAS ACTING FINE BUT THEY WOULD KEEP IT A COUPLE DAYS BUT SINCE IT ISN'T ACTING UP THERE WASN'T MUCH THEY COULD DO. THE TRUCK IS A YEAR OLD AND ONLY HAS 5.300 MILES.

TOOK TO FORD AND THEY INSPECTED IT AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND THAT THE PIN WAS WORKING. A FRIEND HAD SAME THING HAPPEN. I BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCK AND HAD THEY INSPECTED IT ON THE SPOT, THEY MAY HAVE DISCOVERED A PROBLEM. SINCE WE DROVE TRUCK AFTER ACCIDENT, IT PROBABLY LOOKED FINE WHEN THEY INSPECTED IT. THERE HAVE BEEN SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH F-150 BUT MINE WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL.

THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE LATCH ON THE TAILGATE. THE TAILGATE OPENS RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS CAN OCCUR WHEN THE TAILGATE IS UNLOCKED AND ALSO WHEN IT IS LOCKED. IT IS MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP. I USE MY VEHICLE FOR WORK PURPOSED AND SO I HAUL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH BILL PIERRE FORD IN SEATTLE WA ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THAT FORD HAS NOT PROVIDED A FIX AND SO THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX IT. THE DANGER AND LIABILITY IS SIGNIFICANT AND WILL CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS IF IT IS NOT ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. I AM PUTTING A DATE BELOW, BUT PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS HAS OCCURRED REPEATEDLY. WHILE I AM CURRENTLY USING A BUNGEE CORDS TO MAKE SURE THAT NOTHING FALLS OUT (THE CORD PREVENTS THE GATE FROM FALLING OPEN) WHEN THE TAILGATE RANDOMLY RELEASES, IT WOULD CERTAINLY PUT THE LIVES OF OTHERS AT RISK ON DAILY BASIS.

PARKED IN A GAS STATION PARKING SPOT. I PUT THE TRUCK INTO PARK AND LEFT THE VEHICLE ON FOR THE FAMILY. I TOOK ONE OF MY CHILDREN INTO THE STORE. MY WIFE OPENS HER PASSENGER DOOR AND STEPPED OUT TO PICK UP A LITTLE MESS. WHILE IN PARK THE TRUCK MOVED FORWARD A BIT AND STARTED TO ROLL BACK. SOMEHOW THE TRUCK WAS IN PARK OR SHOWED IT WAS IN PARK (IT DIDNT MOVE WHEN I LET OFF THE BRAKE PRIOR TO GETTING OUT OR AS I GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK). AFTER STRUGGLING FROM OUTSIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE TRUCK ROLLING BACK ABOUT 50 FEET, MY WIFE MANAGED TO GET THE SHIFTER INTO PARK (AGAIN). DOWNSTAIRS TOO HARD BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP TODAY IS THE SECOND TIME THEY CONSTANTLY ACT LIKE THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AV TO RESET IT ONCE BEFORE STILL HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THAT NEW TRANSMISSION. SO BASICALLY IN INNER-CITY DRIVING IS SOMEBODY WAS TO JUMP IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WITH DOWNSHIFT QUICKLY GIVING DRIVER OR ANY PASSENGERS WHIPLASH STOP THE VEHICLE NOT A VERY SAFE OR PRACTICAL BUILD CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND GIVE MAJOR PROBLEMS IF ANYBODY HAS BAD BACKS OR NECKS WAS NOT DISCLOSED AT TIME OF SALE OF A HARD SHIFTING TRANSMISSIONS

THERE IS AN ABNORMAL ENGINE "RATTLE" NOISE WHEN DECELERATING (LETTING OFF THROTTLE) BETWEEN 1000 AND 2000 RPMS. THIS HAS BEEN A FREQUENT COMPLAINT FROM 2018 FORD F-150 OWNERS WITH V8 5.0L ENGINES. RESPONSES FROM F150 OWNERS ON VARIOUS FORUMS ALL INDICATE VARIOUS EXPLANATIONS FROM FORD AS TO THE CAUSE FROM NORMAL ENGINE CHARACTERISTICS, REPLACING CAM PHASERS, REPLACING SOLENOIDS, AND BUYBACKS. A TSB WAS RELEASED IN NOVEMBER 2018 WITH NO KNOWN CASES ON ANY RELATED FORUMS OF THE TSB CORRECTING THE ABNORMAL ENGINE RATTLE NOISE. I HAVE HJAD THE TSB PERFORMED AND THE NOISE WAS CONTINUED TO BE PRESENT. THE CONCERN FROM MYSELF AND OTHER OWNERS IS THE UNKNOWN LONG TERM EFFECTS ON THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND/OR LIFE AND A CONTINUED LACK OF RESPONSE FROM FORD AS TO THE CAUSE OR RELEASE OF ANY FIXES. THE ISSUE HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE 1 WEEK AFTER PURCHASING THE TRUCK ON NOVEMBER 21, 2018.
THE KEY FOB FOR OUR NEW F150 HAS BROKEN ALREADY. IT WAS ONLY 2 MONTHS OLD AND THE METAL PART THAT HOLDS THE KEY RING CAME OFF. THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED AFTER ONLY 2 MONTHS. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS IT IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE. IF THE FOB FALLS OFF THE KEY RING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT GLUES ON PROPERLY, YOU CAN LOSE YOUR KEY. WORSE, SOMEONE COULD FIND IT, PRESS THE LOCK OR PANIC BUTTON TO FIND YOUR CAR AND THEN STEAL YOUR CAR. I THINK IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND COMPROMISES THE SECURITY OF THE CAR. IT ALSO LEAVES YOU WITHOUT A KEY IF IT FALLS OFF. IF YOU DO MANAGE TO SEE IT HAPPEN, THEN YOU ARE STUCK WITH A BROKEN FOB AFTER OWNING YOUR NEW CAR FOR ONLY 2 MONTHS. ONE OTHER NOTE ON THE WEAR AND TEAR. IT WAS SOLD NEW BUT HAD ABOUT 2000 MILES ALREADY ON IT. SO, THE WEAR AND TEAR COULD HAVE OCCURRED WHILE THE DEALER HAD POSSESSION.

DOOR LATCH, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS NOT CLOSING WHEN I FIRST GOT THE TRUCK. THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED LAST APRIL AT THE FACTORY, BUT OBVIOUSLY IT WAS NOT. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK LOOKED AT 3 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. IT MAY BE FIXED NOW, MAYBE NOT. HOW CAN FORD NOT HAVE RECALLS AND A FIX FOR THIS AND STILL BE ALLOWED TO SELL THESE VEHICLES? I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY HOLDING THE DOOR SHUT. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY, THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE OF WHOLE LOT. LAST WEEK IT WAS IN THE SHOP MORE THAN I HAD THE VEHICLE.

WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ALL SAFETY WARNING INDICATORS LIGHTS COME WHICH CAUSES VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER. AND WILL NOT ALLOW VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO GETTING HIT WHICH HAS BEEN THE CASE. TWO COMPLAINTS: 1- DOOR LOCKS STILL FREEZING AFTER BEING AT THE DEALER FOR A RECALL TO FIX THEM. FIX DID NOT WORK. 2- POOR DESIGN ON BOTH SIDE DOOR MIRRORS. THE SMALL WIDE ANGLE INSET MIRRORS ARE SET IN TOO DEEP AND ANGLED IMPROPERLY, THAT WHEN ADJUSTING THE LARGER MIRRORS THE VIEW OF THE INSETS NEGATES THEIR PURPOSE AND CAUSES A BLIND SIDE AREA AT A CRITICAL IN THE LEFT PASSING LANE WITCH IS MISSED BY BOTH MIRRORS. I,VE TRIED REPOSITIONING THEM TO ALLEVIATE THIS PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. SEVERAL CLOSE CALL ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCED.( MIRRORS WERE CLEAN AND UNOBSTRUCTED). ALSO THEY HAVE VIRTUALLY NO OVERHANG ON THE TOP AND THEREFORE ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO SNOW ICE AND RAIN. SUGGEST INCREASING THE TOP OVERHANG AREA SOMEWHAT. THE ABOVE IS MEANT TO BE HELPFUL OBSERVATIONS TO AID FORD DESIGN AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND SAFETY. THANK YOU FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO INFORM YOU OF THESE MATTERS. I HAVE A 2018 FORD F-150. MY DOORS WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED AT ALL WHEN IT FREEZES OUTSIDE AFTER IT HAS RAINED OR MOISTURE WAS IN THE AIR (FROST). I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE TO WORK HOLDING IT CLOSED, NOT LATCHED, MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO EACH TIME. THERE ARE NO RECALLS OUT FOR THIS MODEL YEAR. I HAD A 2016 F-150 THAT HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR IT. FORD CALMED THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IF I GET IN A WRECK IT COULD BE FATAL. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS TRUCK ANYMORE AND THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO FIX IT. I HAVE MULTIPLE VIDEOS OF THIS ISSUE AS WELL.

I BOUGHT A NEW F-150 LAST AUGUST FROM THE FORD DEALER IN ASHBORO, NC. WITH BELOW FREEZING WEATHER THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. THE DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED THROUGH A MESSAGE ON HIS WEBSITE BUT HAS NOT RESPONDED. THE LAST F-150 I OWNED DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND NEITHER DID A COUPLE E-150 VANS BEFORE THAT. I DID HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH A FORD MUSTANG BACK IN THE 70'S BUT FOUND THAT I COULD PUSH DOWN THE DOOR LOCK BEFORE SLAMMING THE DOOR. THE LOCK WOULD THEN POP UP AND THE DOOR WOULD LATCH. THIS TECHNIQUE DID NOT WORK WITH THE NEW F-150. I THINK THIS CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION, I.E. HOLDING THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SHUT SINCE IT WANTS TO FLY OPEN DURING RIGHT TURNS. YOU WOULD THINK THAT FORD WOULD AT LEAST INCLUDE A HOOK ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR SO YOU COULD LOOP THE SEAT BELT THROUGH IT TO KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED IN COLD WEATHER.
Mileage: 3,500
SUPER LOW TEMPERATURES HIT OUR AREA AROUND 17 DEGREES AND THE LOCKS FREEZE TO THE POINT TO WHERE I CAN OPEN THE DOOR BUT THE ACTUATORS WON'T RETURN TO THE LOCK POSITION AND I HAVE TO THAW THE LOCK OTHERWISE THE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE AND AM UNABLE TO USE THE VEHICLE

ON 2 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH ON MY TRUCK HAS STUCK OPEN AND WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO LATCH THE DOOR CLOSED. I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE HOME BOTH TIMES HOLDING THE DOOR SHUT WITH MY LEFT ARM AND ONE HAND STEERING THE WHEEL. WHEN GOING AROUND TURNS I HAD TO SLOW WAY DOWN BECAUSE THE DOOR WEIGHT MULTIPLIED WITH FORCE AND GOT VERY HEAVY AND HARD TO STOP FROM FLYING OPEN..I DONT KNOW IF THE OTHER LATCHES ON MY TRUCK WOULD HAVE STUCK OPEN AS I WAS TO AFRAID TO TRY IT AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET THEM PROPERLY LATCHED SHUT. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE THIS IS A HUGE WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM WITH FRONT AND REAR DOORS ON 2015-2018 F150'S AND FORDS FIX IS TO SMEAR SOME GREASE AND OIL ON IT AND PUT A COVER OVER THE LATCH HAS NOT BEEN A SUCCESSFUL FIX ON ANY OF THE VEHICLES THEY HAVE DONE. IT IS IN NO DOUBT A SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE VEHICLE WAS TO ROLL OVER IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE DOOR WASNT LATCHED IT WOULD SURELY BE CRUSHED AND POSSIBLY COME BACK INTO THE CAB INJURING A DRIVER OR RIPPED OF EXPOSING THE DRIVER AND OR PASSENGERS TO HAZARDS OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. WILL THE TRUCK FAIR THE SAME IN A HEAD ON CRASH OR FRONT OVERLAP CRASH AS TESTED? I STRONGLY URGE WHOMEVER TO TAKE THE TIME TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AND MAKE FORD FIX THIS ISSUE.. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND THEY ARE NOT TAKING IT SERIOUSLY.

THIS HAS RESULTED IN NOT BEING ABLE TO ENTER OR EXIT THE VEHICLE AND HAVE DOORS POP OPEN ON THEIR OWN AFTER BEING SHUT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT COULD RESULT BEING STUCK INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND/OR POSSIBLY HAVING SOMEONE FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE IF DOOR WERE TO POP OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY.

DAUGHTER DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME, PARKED IT, AND TURNED OFF VEHICLE. WHILE INSIDE THE RESIDENCE, DAUGHTER HEARD DOGS OUTSIDE BARKING. DAUGHTER WENT TO CHECK ON DOGS AND SAW THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND ENGINE WAS NOT ON. THE VEHICLE FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE VEHICLE FIRE ALSO BURNED A PART OF THE EXTERIOR OF THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY STILL AT THE RESIDENCE WHERE IT BURNED. I REQUEST THAT THIS VEHICLE BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT REASON FOR IT TO HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. IT WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT.

THE BLIND SPOT MIRROWS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY A 1/8 INCH LITE IN THE MIRROW. IT IS HARD TO SEE IF THE SUN / CITY LITES ARE SHINNING IN YOUR EYES. THIS IS THE ONLY MEANS OF SEEING A VEHICLE IN THE "BLIND SPOT", THIS IS DANGEROUS, I ONLY HAVE ONE EYE + BAD VISION, I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS. THE BACK UP ALARM ONLY SOUNDS WHEN YOU ARE 24 INCHES OR LESS FROM AN OBJECT, IF IT SOUNDS AT ALL, THE FIRST MORNING I BACKED INTO AN OBJECT, IT NEVER GAVE A SOUND. I HAVE HAD ALARMS SINCE 2004, NO PROBLEMS. BLIND SPOT MIRROWS FOR MANY YEARS. A LOT OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, I HAVE BEEN WAITING OVER TWO WEEKS TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. THE BLIND SPOT MIRROWS ARE A BIG SAFETY PROBLEM. MOVING & IN TRAFFIC.
STATIONARY- BOUGHT THE TRUCK WITH A 6600# TOW PACKAGE, CLASS IV HITCH, 7 AND 4 PIN ELECTRIC TRAILER PLUG-IN AND WAS EXPECTING TO TOW A TRAILER. TRUCK HAD NO TRAILER BRAKE OR TOW MIRRORS. ANY TRAILER EXCEEDING 3000 LBS GVWR NEEDS TRAILER BRAKES AND TOW MIRRORS. HAD TO HAVE THEM INSTALLED. SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE MANUFACTURERS JOB TO MAKE TOWING SAFE FOR THE AVERAGE DRIVER TO MAKE LANE CHANGES, MAKE TURNS OR BRAKE SAFELY. 6600 LB TOW PACKAGE IS MISLEADING AND UNSAFE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC'S SAFETY!

I WAS HEADED HOME FROM WORK AND MY TRUCK WAS STATIONARY STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, AND THE AUTOMATIC ENGINE STOP WAS ACTIVE, WITH SYNC NETWORKED. A VEHICLE FROM BEHIND RAN INTO MY 3 WEEK OLD VEHICLE. THE ENGINE AUTOMATIC START-STOP SYNC STARTED, AND THE ENGINE RACED TO VERY HIGH RPMS. THROWING MY HEAD BACK INTO THE HEADREST AGAIN. I HAD TO PRESS REALLY HARD UPON THE BRAKES TO PREVENT MY VEHICLE FROM SLAMMING INTO THE CAR AHEAD OF ME. AT THAT MOMENT MY MIND THOUGHT OF THE TOYOTA CAMRY ACCELERATION PROBLEM YEARS AGO, AND UPON THE VEHICLE RETURNING TO NORMAL IDLE RPMS, I DOUBLE CHECKED THAT MY FOOT WAS ACTUALLY ON THE BRAKE. MY FOOT WAS ACTUALLY ON THE BRAKE.

AFTER I WAS REAR ENDED MY 2018 F150 STARTED SMOKING AND CAUGHT FIRE AT THE BASE OF THE POST BESIDE THE DRIVER SEAT WHERE THE CARPET AND PLASTIC SIDE COVER COME TOGETHER. THIS HAPPENED WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF THE CRASH. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH ON A 65 MPH 4 LANE, SLOWING DUE TO TRAFFIC CONGESTION WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED BY A 2007 CHEVY PICKUP TRAVELLING AT ABOUT 60 MPH. HITTING MY TRUCK HARD ENOUGH TO LIFT THE FRONT END AND LAND ON THE 4 FOOT HIGHWAY BARRIER IN THE FRONT, MY TRUCK CONTINUED AND THEN STUCK THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME WITH MY PASSENGER DOOR CAUSING THE REAR OF THE TRUCK TO ALSO LAND ON THE CONCRETE BARRIER. I WAS HELPED FROM THE TRUCK THRU THE RIGHT SIDE BACK DOOR BY THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK MY VEHICLE IMPACTED. OFFICER WAS ON SITE IN ABOUT 3 MINUTES AND WANTED TO MOVE MY TRUCK FIRST, HE ASKED IF I HAD ANYTHING I NEEDED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. TROOPER AND I WENT TO GET MY BELONGINGS WHEN WE NOTICED THE SMOKE IN THE CAB. I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET ANYTHING FROM THE TRUCK BECAUSE THE FIRE STARTED AND SPREAD QUICKLY. FIRE WAS ONLY ON THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.

WINDSHIELD HAS SEVERE PITTING AND IS GETTING WORSE EVERYDAY. ANY SUN GLARE CAUSES LOSS OF VISIBILITY AND I HAVE TO ACTUALLY STOP THE VEHICLE AND HANG MY HEAD FROM THE SIDE WINDOW TO SEE. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO SAND STORMS, ETC. I OWN A 1966 TBIRD WITH THE ORIGINAL WINDSHIELD AND IT HAS BETTER VISIBILITY THAN THE 2018 F150. FORD IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET AND NOT RESPONDING. THE DASH PANEL IS WARPING ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDES AT THE TOP IN THE AREA OF THE DEFROSTER DUCTS. THIS APPEARS TO BE DIVERTING THE AIR FROM THE DEFROSTER OUTLETS AND CAUSING A REDUCED EFFECIENCY OF THE DEFROSTER SYSTEM.

MY 2018 FORD F-150 WITH 7,800 MILES WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVE WAY WHILE WORKING IN MY GARAGE AT MY HOME. THE WINDOWS WERE ROLLED DOWN ABOUT 3" TO KEEP THE HEAT FROM BUILDING INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT WAS 84 DEGREES OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. WHEN I WAS ROLLING UP MY WINDOWS TO PUT THE TRUCK BACK IN MY GARAGE, THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW CLOSED AND I HEARD A CRACKING SOUND. NO VISIBLE CRACK WAS EVIDENT. I ROLLED THE WINDOW UP A SECOND TIME AND A VERY SMALL CRACK APPEARED IN THE UPPER CORNER WHERE THE GLASS TURNS UPWARD NEXT TO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TOOK PICTURES AND TURNED INTO FORD. IT WAS REFUSED AS THEY STATED THEIR WAS IMPACT. MY TRUCK HAS FACTORY WINDOW GUARDS AND THERE IS NOT A MARK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE GUARD OR PAINT. I SENT A CLAIM TO FORD AND THEY STILL CLAIM IT WAS IMPACT. WELL FORD ALL I HAVE TO SAY AS WHERE THE CRACK BEGAN TO PROPAGATE THEIR IS NO WAY POSSIBLE FROM THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE THAT YOU COULD HUMANLY POSSIBLE IMPACT THIS AREA OF THE WINDOW AS IT IS COMPLETELY CONCEALED. THIS VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY CONCRETE DRIVEWAY WHILE ROLLING UP THE WINDOWS. THERE IS ALSO NO WAY POSSIBLE THAT ANY FOREIGN MATTER COULD HAVE GOT IN THE WINDOW TRACK. THE FIRST PHOTO IS FROM THE EXTERIOR AND THE SECOND IS FROM THE INTERIOR SHOWING THAT THE WINDOW BROKE FROM THE MOST PROTECTED AREA AND DIRECTLY OFF THE CORNER OF THE GLASS WHERE IT INITIALLY STARTED.
