I was just stopped at a red light and took foot off pedal and the vehicle didn't restart. The instrument cluster showed a warning saying "Auto StartStop Shift to P then Restart". This has happened 4-5 times in the past month.

The rear camera view displays the warning "the camera is not available" on the screen. A blurry, distorted flickering image is displayed on the screen. This is the same thing I see with my 2016 Ford Fusion, whose camera has been recalled. I'm not sure if this is an intermittent issue or not, but yesterday it was a persistent issue.

The rear backup camera works off and on, as demonstrated by the attached pictures. It has been working in this manner for the past couple of years. It will work properly for long periods of time then go for days in the distorted mannger. The pictures taken were over a one day period. The worst part is that it acts up in the most inappropriate times. There is no specific reason for the camera to not work. No wiring is loose and the system has all appropriate updates. I suspect it falls along the same lines as all of the other recalls foe these cameras. I asked the dealership, which performs all maintenance on my vehicle, to check it out under the recall but they refuse and offer to charge me for repairs, which is why I am filing this notice.

The display screen (back up camera, clock, audio, etc.) will at times freeze up, other times be blank, other times show the rear view when in drive. This is affecting my safety as I cannot use the rear view camera in some instances and others the rear view shows up while driving causing confusion. I have not had this looked at yet by a dealer as I believed it was a known issue and a recall was coming, but as of now a lot of other vehicles are being recalled for what appears to be similar issues, but not this vehicle. No warnings.

Rearview Camera and Information Screen are not functioning properly. Screen will come up to a Black Screen after starting the vehicle and the camera will not function or the camera will stay on while driving forward and will go black after driving down the highway a short distance. This problem has been occurring for a year or more and is starting to occur more often. System is up to date and local ford dealership is stating there is no problem with it. Video has been taken of the issue in which the dealership stated the video proved nothing and that was not just cause for a repair being made.

The Ford Sync 3 "head unit" or whatever they call it nowadays locks up. When going in reverse the camera will either sometimes completely glitch and show "static", or sometimes a black screen and nothing. The rearview camera will also stay on when pulling away after reversing, which obviously can be very distracting. This has been glitching for almost two years, but has gotten worse and worse to the point now where it is almost every single time the rear camera is used. It will not factory reset, that locks as well. This is a very well known issue by Ford, and yet they do nothing about it. It is a very common complaint in online forums etc., someone needs to force Ford's hand to do these repairs, which can cost well over $1000, in many cases closer to 2k or more.

The APIM/Radio keep losing saved/stored info after vehicle is turned off. The rear back up camera will go blank while in reverse or will activate while driving or will stay stuck on the rear view mode after putting vehicle in drive or park. Back up camera is foggy, can't make out objects, when it rains hard and your backing up camera alert signal goes off even if nothing is there. When rain stops and there are a few dry days of weather the camera is still foggy and unable to make out objects. The service department can examine the camera and easily see the problem. The camera has no clear picture.

Rear window ford part number 1542006 - Back window glass has 1" cracks in glass where the glass connects to the body on the left passenger side of the crew cab. Cracks have caused leaks into the cab interior and has caused the modem, mounted behind the rear passenger set on the back wall to stop working as water has infiltrated the electronics. Vehicle was inspected at dealership and their 3rd party glass leak specialists discovered the cracks in the glass connection. I have no idea as to how long this has been going on, estimate a few months as I recently discovered I could not communicate with the vehicle through the Ford Connect App and called Ford Connect, they identified an issue with the modem and when I pulled back the upholstery to see, there was water dripping inside the vehicle. Unknown if cracks will propagate, however they are leaking when it rains. I will be replacing the glass to prevent further leaks from occurring. I have extended warranty through Ford and "glass" is not covered. Reached out to Ford Care and they would not cover. Suggested that I put in a report here so that if later recall or other action, I might be able to get refund for the repair that I am now going to have to pay for to replace the glass and possibly the modem. No other symptoms other than the filaure of the modem that alerted to the issue.

Rear view camera used to glitch when put in reverse. Now it goes completely black (or blue) when vehicle is in reverse. There was a recall on this involving 2021 and newer models but I believe this problem goes back even further. Because it’s a truck, I have a huge blind spot in the back when reversing and I worry mostly about a potential accident involving property, persons, or even my own children. It’s very unsafe. I want to note that I was in contact with Ford Customer Service but they said that my vehicle wasn’t covered under the recall and that there was nothing they can do for me.

I am experiencing a serious and potentially dangerous issue with the transmission in my 2019 Ford F-150 Lariat equipped with the 10-speed 10R80 automatic transmission. At highway speeds (65–75 mph), the truck will occasionally downshift abruptly into a much lower gear without any input from the driver. This causes the engine RPMs to spike and creates a sudden deceleration, which could easily lead to a rear-end collision or loss of control.

Driving highway speed (70mph) and vehicle suddenly drops speed to (25mph) and running at 5000rpm and loses all forward drive speed while pressing on the gas pedal. Pulled over and turned off truck and tried to restart it and it took over 15 seconds for the power start to start the engine after pushing the start button, still had no power to accelerate after placing it in drive. My Ford App sends an alert code reading Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. Towed to dealership to get looked at under purchase warranty agreement. This could have caused a major accident if there would have been more traffic on the highway at the time causing major injuries and/or death, this needs to be investigated what is causing this issue. There are a lot of forums on the internet for 2019-2023 F150 having this same issue reporting/regarding “Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power”, don’t know if anyone else has had it happen while driving at highway speeds or not though haven’t looked through everyone of them.

Last week I traveled from Wichita Kansas to Tulsa Oklahoma. On the way back on the highway. the rear wheels locked up and the transmission began revving up but the vehicle was slowing down. The vehicle then revved down and was still slowing down. I pulled over on the shoulder briefly and then drove to gas station less than a mile away. Left vehicle off and got gas. Drove around parking lot and vehicle seemed fine. We did make it home without any other issues. I saw where your agency is looking into this problem for 2015-2017. It seems to be affecting the 2019 as well

The backup camera on my F150 starting glitching and would not display a clear picture of what was behind the vehicle. Below is what was on the invoice: C/S VEHICLE'S BACKUP CAMERA INOP. THE SCREEN IS BLANK WHEN IN REVERSE.CHECK AND ADVISE 24E12 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE PCM REPROGRAMMING 2 new wiring harnesses and the control reprogramming came to about $1200. In my opinion, failure of a backup camera is a safety critical item. Failure such as this is no different than a sensor going bad- actually worse as visibility is non-existent.

A couple weeks ago we’re driving and it started shifting funny and jerking, had no get up and go, we limped to the nearest dealership. Told our transmission went out and it will cost 11k.

The vehicle developed a grinding noise in the engine soon after i lost all power and brakes while leaving my driveway i thought I was going to crash into my neighbors fence. I had zero braking function out of no where ans no check engine light, it came back after about 30 seconds being off. Then as I was driving down the road I lost all power and I could not accelerate or anything in the middle of the road again no check engine light came on it was just an instantaneous power loss took about 45 seconds to re-engage. The truck started to have a slight shutter when driving around 80,000 miles. it now shutters all of the time while driving. They trucks shakes. i called my local mechanic and he stated he is having a lot of calls with this make and model truck. he stated that the problem is in the transmission. the inside of the drum that houses the transmission fluid is breaking down the inside and its shredding to pieces. i was informed to call the ford dealership to see if mine was on the recall list but it is not. they acted like there hasn't been a recall for this matter. i have been stopped by random people asking if i was having this problem because them to was having the same issues. i do not feel like we as the consumers should have to pay to have this issue fixed, which is resulting in new transmissions when the problem is because of manufacturing issues. my local mechanic is saying it's costing people upwards of $8,000 to have this fixed and that is unacceptable.

Having major issues with the auto stop control, it has turned the truck off while sitting in the middle of an intersection, has stalled my truck multiple times in busy areas of on coming traffic, has shortened my battery life and my starter, and it has shown different warning icons. The power train is also acting up by hard shifting, not wanting to switch gears, skipping gears, and also making it difficult to pin point problem. My rear left brake functions are causing an issue as well, some function is making my brakes either stick or something because I get a burning odor constantly coming from my rear wheel even after changing my brakes and rotors.

When I bought the vehicle in 2019 the backup camera stayed on as I was driving down the road. I had to have the computer reset twice. While stopped at a light i had my foot on the break and the vehicle rolled forward and didn't stop me from rear ending the person in front of me at the light. The warning beeped but it didn't brake. Recently I was driving on the highways and my navigation showed that I was driving in a totally different place. Now I had my battery replaced because the auto start and stop wasn't working. When stopping at a red light the vehicle wouldn't start without me putting it in park and restarting it. I have to turn off my auto start stop feature because I'm afraid my vehicle won't start on its own.

Tail gate will not latch/lock properly. Tail gate will not latch into the closed position when pushed closed, and sometimes only partially latches. This may allow the cargo to fall on the road, putting other motorists in danger. Tail gate external latch handle remains in the open position and does not properly retract under spring pressure to the unopen position after manually opening. Tail gate latch handle must be forcibly manually closed with significant pressure to allow the tail gate to latch closed on the two side plate bosses. With out this manually effort, tail gate lock will not engage the locking bosses. If one is not careful to ensure full retraction the tail gate lock may not fully latch and could open while driving. I have Lubricated the latch handle mechanism latch locking mechanism and all joints, with no significant improvement. Defect or tolerance problem in latch mechanism is very likely. Prior recall on model year F-150’s have reported very similar problem

On Sunday Jan [XXX], I had to drive 40min to the Hospital in Oconomowoc to pick up my daughter from ER, when leaving as I was backing out of the parking spot the back window bowed outward and shattered. Glass flew everywhere both inside the truck and outward. It was very cold in Wisconsin - but the vehicle was more than warm, and the back entire window just shattered. Luckily no one was in the back seat, or they would have been seriously cut by some of the small shards of glass that came into the vehicle. There was no damage to the rear window prior, and it basically exploded for no apparent reason. It does appear Ford has been aware of this but has not placed a recall. I have tried to contact a dealer to find out if this is covered under my extended warranty but cannot seem to get ahold of just the service department to discuss further. I think Ford needs to take more responsibility for these vehicles, I have never seen anything like this in my life. This is a 2019 Ford F150 Lariat with heated defroster and slide window that exploded without cause or fault of owner. I have filed a claim with my insurance company, but it's considered a glass issue and they don't usually send out an adjuster for glass- and based on deductible would be out of pocket cost for me when I feel this is a defective issue ford should be addressing. Approximately 2 weeks after purchasing the truck I noticed some harsh shifting, jerking, and sudden acceleration, and hesitation issues. They were intermittent and I was advised this is not uncommon with this model vehicle. However, these issues have become more frequent and severe. Next, I noticed the gears began slipping and the truck seemed to not be able to “find” the gear it needed to be in. The transmission would slam into gear or begin slipping under acceleration. There is no rhyme or reason to it, I have not been able to pinpoint it to a specific gear or up/down shift. It simply loses power and neither the gas nor brake work. It will coast until the wrench (check engine?) symbol comes on and then the gas will function. This week the transmission has started intermittently locking into a specific gear without the ability to shift. It’s now happened 3 times. You cannot reverse or drive, the transmission puts itself in park while the dash still indicates its in drive or reverse. After parking the truck for a couple of hours, I could start and drive as usual. Most importantly, twice Saturday the truck seemed to shift out of gear, so hard my head hit the steering wheel, and lost power going 70mph on I64. I have attempted to video these events to help diagnose the issues, but obviously driving and recording are dangerous and difficult.

The trucks computer has a glitch the past few weeks where it will request permission repeatedly for OTA updates. Since this started, the rear view camera sometimes stays on after shifting from reverse to drive. It has remained on up to 30-40mph before the screen goes completely black. When the screen goes black, no functions work on the screen or audio/nav/camera controls except the radio on/off manual button. A hard reset fixes the issue temporarily by restarting the SYNC system, however it reoccurs frequently. This issue can be a safety concern because it is very distraction and the audio/phone controls cannot be changed or used during driving (i.e. handsfree or nav if you were in the middle of using them). It also puts into question whether or not the rear view camera system works or if it is properly interfacing with the rear parking sensors of the vehicle.

2019 Ford F-150 Sync programming MEMORY ISSUES Indicative Issues: * Sync no longer retains bluetooth pairing information when the engine is started. * When engine starts Sync 3 always asks: "Do you want to turn on the following features?" * Responding to "Do you want to turn on the following features?" is useless. * Any changes in settings are not retained when engine is turned off. * Screen goes black at times and only on a soft reset with Sync return. * Attempting a Master Reset will either not start or hangs indefinitely. * The backup camera will often stay on even when driving forward until a soft reset is done. * Upon engine start the radio is always on & must be turned off. Expert responses: Local Ford Dealer: The APIM is bad. $1300 fix. Ford Support: The Sync 3 update is at fault causing memory issues. The fix might be available at the end of September, 2023. The Syn screen freezes up randomly. Often it turns black and a soft reset has to be performed. Randomly, the backup camera screen is displayed while driving forward up to about 30 mph, then the screen turns black. None of the radio presets will stay in memory. If I shut the truck off with an XM Sirius station on, when the truck is restarted 540 AM is playing loudly. The screen locking up while driving is a hazard. Multiple screens popping up that need interaction while driving is a distraction. I can't see the climate control temp setting when it locks up. The Sync APIM is bad and needs to be replaced. This is a common problem found on various forums. The date below is when it started.

In March of 2022, Ford launched a TSB campaign for its F150 model trucks spanning a few years. The TSB was for a Cam Phaser issue and the company offered an extended mileage warranty with a tiered coverage chart based on your current miles while experiencing the problem. The campaign ended January of 2023. I own a 2019 F-150 and my truck began having the issues under the TSB in April of 2023. When I brought the issue to the Ford dealership, I was then informed of the open TSB (TSB's are not made public, but rather opened up for mechanics use to easily diagnose an issue). I was told that due to my mileage as well as missing the 'expiration of the campaign' by just a few months, I would have to cover the cost of the repair. After battling with Ford, I was able to gain some assistance from the dealership towards the cost of the repair. My truck was dropped off to a Ford dealership on May 8th, 2023 and is still there awaiting parts for this KNOWN issue. There are roughly 40,000 parts for this issue that are on backorder. I was updated yesterday that the parts are still 2-3 weeks out from being available. Not having my vehicle for close to 3 months now and still being expected to pay $750 for a repair with an active TSB is absurd. At what point does this issue constitute a recall? I am writing and requesting that this issue be a known recall to the affected trucks. For a consumer to have to pay for a cost that is out of their control, and a known/acknowledged issue by the dealer/company, especially with a 40,000 part backorder-- there should be no reason myself, or anyone else should have to pay any cost to fix the problem. Please let me know what can or needs to be done further to try and have this TSB converted to a recall on these affected F-150s.

Rear tailgate opens when door opens without activating the remote/automatic feature that opens the tailgate. It also opens when I’m traveling in traffic. It’s a danger to me and traffic if something is in my truck bed or even if nothing is in there and it opens and someone is too close it will hit there vehicle

When I place my vehicle in park on my driveway, it rolled backwards and collided with the vehicle behind it. when this event occurred, the truck was in park for over an hour before rolling backwards. This is not the first time that it has done this and when I saw it happen the first time, it was only for a distance of two feet and all the wheels were turning when it rolled backwards. The truck was only in 2 wheel drive mode and 4 wheel drive automatic mode. We are now trying to leave it in 4 High wheel drive when parked. Our driveway is on an incline and we do live in Mn. Our driveway was clear of snow and ice when this occurred and the temperature was 40 degrees. We are not allowed to park our vehicles on the street overnight but have asked for a special permit given the damage to the vehicle parked behind the truck that was hit when the truck rolled backwards. This was over 4 feet when the truck rolled and the vehicle that was hit stopped the truck from rolling further. We confirmed the truck was in park when this incident occurred.

3.5 ecoboost , water leaking inside cab floors from the AC, sunroof, or back window causing a potentially toxic condition as it holds under the carpet and padding with no way to escape. My truck has Cam phaser issues in that it rattles at idle and while driving Engine sounds like a diesel.

There is a serious design flaw with this truck that allows water to enter the passenger side cab via a ford designed hole where the condensate drain exits the fire wall, The water causes severe mold to form and fester bc the water keeps coming, my vehicle is at the dealership now and fully admits even through report that this is a design flaw. Last I checked mold was not a good thing to be encapsulated in a cab with. Further more not only is the mold there but the intake for the HVAC system sits right there as well sucking the tainted air in and redistributing it through the vehicle

On my F-150, I got a check engine light reading code P0430. I just hit 100,000 miles when the light came on so I started out by replacing both converters and all four sensors. After about two months, the light came back on and two of my sensors had been burnt up. Although the truck does not run poorly, it does have a slight lag when attempting to accelerate.

When I put my vehicle into reverse, I get a warning that the backup camera is inoperable. Ford already has a recall on Some backup cameras but refuses to address mine because of the VIN not being on their list. Others at risk? Whenever I need to back out of a parking space. The onboard computer should have the records of the many times the camera was needed but not working. I am unable to afford the cost of a service call as I am a senior citizen.

Every time I start my vehicle 2 error messages appear on the instrument cluster saying crash dectection camera has malfunction and that crash detection has been disabled. Ford dealership says they can’t fix it and that I am stuck with it like that. They have tried blaming it on safelite for replacing the windshield with a lower quality windshield.

I've been dealing with a vibration/shaking in my factory driver side mirror at high speeds and on bumpy roads since I got my truck in May 2019 (over three years). No issue on the passenger side. I've dealt with it off and on with the dealer as time and life have allowed. Currently I'm on my fourth mirror and have a case manager from Ford corporate. I have attached some of my correspondence with them for your reference. My problem is that the driver side shaking is very bad. It's distracting at high speeds and at night when headlights are shining behind you, it can be like a light show in the corner of your eye while driving. After much trial and error, I believe the vibration is coming from the articulation point between where the arm that comes off the truck connects with the arm that supports the mirror. Where it folds in basically. There isn't anything that can be adjusted, that particular area is all enclosed. I'm on my second dealer after the first claimed the mirror was fine. I took the truck for a drive with the foreman at the new dealer who confirmed he could see the issue. They ordered me a new mirror again and after installing it sure enough the new one shakes just like the prior ones have. The dealer said they had a regional service tech from Ford drive it after the new mirror went on and this person told them the shaking was normal. I'm talking with the case manager from Ford also and they are investigating what to do since there's clearly (in my opinion) some sort of defect with this part but no recall or fix has been made to my knowledge. I may be elevated to their legal team. At issue currently, I have asked my case manager from Ford whether they can have someone such as an engineer or safety team examine the part and assess whether the mirror design is faulty but they have no one in their company. The case Manager claims to not know if Ford has a team like this. The dealerships didn't design the part so they can't assess whether it's flawed.

There is a defect in design of this vehicle. When using the Air Conditioning the passenger side floor gets extremely wet from the evaporator core drain. This is due to the drain being to short, and gets the sound protective sponge rubber soaking wet. What happens is this sponge gets wet and pours into the passenger floor area of the vehicle. It was only noticed after I took ownership from my father. The floor carpet backing and carpet have a mold issue now which is a health issue. What needs to happen is the drain needs an extension to get past where it dumps out now. This will solve the issue.

The transmission started shifting down and up uncontrollably while traveling down the highway at 75 MPH. It would bounce between 9 and 10 gear and then down to 5 and 6, all within seconds. Was not towing anything, and it’s not the first time it’s happened. A wrench icon appeared, saying “see manual”. Transmission temp showed 240 degrees. Within 5 minutes we’d pulled over and turned vehicle off. As we were slowing down exiting freeway, gear shifting was extremely pronounced.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and approaching a stop, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to shift into PARK and restart the vehicle. The “Shift to PARK” message was displayed. The vehicle was taken five times to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with an unknown electrical failure. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle did not qualify for buyback or under the Lemon Law. There was no further assistance provided. The approximate failure mileage was 975.

We were parked in a store parking lot after driving truck for 45 mins. Truck was turned off for 30 mins. Put the key in to start truck and nothing electrical worked. No dash lights, no chiming, no lights, nothing at all electrical worked. Turned key to start and nothing. It was like it was in a sleep mode. After about 5 mins of trying everything electrical and checking battery terminals I tried the radio power on button and everything came back on. It has been fine with no issues for 2 days now. I just hate to have it happen while driving. I called the Ford dealership near me and he they didn't know what it could be. Told me if it happens again to let them know right away. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptons before. I couldn't find anything lose around battery.

As I was driving along an outer road I was continuously going a speed of 35mph. I accelerated up to 40mph when my truck slipped into a new gear, causing the truck to remain at the same RPMs but began declining in speed suddenly causing me to almost fall back into the traffic behind me. The road was slightly uphill and was beginning to fall slower than the rest of traffic as my truck would not accelerate. Once I reached the height of the hill the road began downward which my truck began to coast to a stop light. At the stop light I tried restarting my truck but same message followed by the wrench and check engine light came on. My truck was struggling to accelerate and had my maxed out at 10mph on a 55mph road. At the moment the truck slipped gears, a light on my dash came on stating "Drive Mode Unavailable" that prompted me to hit ok on my steering wheel to remove so I could read the digital speedometer. After hitting okay a wrench lit up on my dash as well as my check engine light. After restarting the truck several times after waiting hours to restart, the same prompts lit up.

Auto startstop activated when stopped at a stoplight. When removing foot from brake pedal to go at the green light, the engine stalled with a warning on the dash to put the vehicle in park and start the vehicle again. This did start the vehicle. This has happened twice in the past month and the last time another vehicle from the rear almost rear ended me since I was parked at a green light. Dealer had worked on it prior to this and I will try again.

The touch sensitive door control for the side passenger door intermittently operates. This creates a hazardous situation when trying to enter the vehicle when parked on the street and the vehicle remains locked. An owner has to retreat, find the key fob and unlock the door remotely. The touch system is erratic and does not give any warning when it malfunctions. Same issue with trying to lock the door but not as hazardous since one is moving away from the vehicle.

My Ford F-150 is a ten-gear truck. For the past several months, my truck gears don't shift, won't stay in gear, and most recently, won't go into gear i.e. I couldn't put my truck in reverse. As I'm driving, I will experience loud bangs and shudders randomly and without warning. My car has 70k miles on it, has not been in an accident, and has been regularly maintained. I took my card to the Ford dealership to address the issue and was told it had to do with a computer issue. Whatever they did has made it worse. I know there is a class-action lawsuit pending over this very issue in Pennsylvania (I live in California) and my truck is no longer safe to drive, as I fear it will slip into gear and possibly cause an accident.

Found significant MOLD (toxic mold) all over passenger side floorboard area, under the carpet and throughout the padding, after increasing moldy/mildew smell. This is a "direct result" of a bad design (i.e. AC drain tube), where condensation flows back into the vehicle without Consumer/Owner knowledge. Technical Service Bulletin 19-2345. RESULT: Consumers spend thousands of hours in a small contained cabin breathing-in toxic mold spores. I've been to the Doctor multiple times with headaches and flu-like symptoms, thinking it's COVID, and always testing negative. AND now it makes sense, symptoms occurred when driving and afterwards. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS. NHTSA is aware of this? WHY ARE CONSUMERS NOT PROACTIVELY TOLD ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THIS CAN KILL PEOPLE! AND MANY ARE LIKELY SICK OR GOING TO GET SICK! After the vehicle has been parked overnight. I reverse out of my driveway, stop, shift to drive, drive about .75 miles to a stop sign. Turn left and go about 1 mile to another stop sign, as the truck is close to stopping for this second stop sign, the engine turns off and I lose power steering. The dash shows this message: "Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine". I have to push on the brakes, shift the truck to park, and then crank the key to restart the truck. This happens whether the auto start/stop is enabled or disabled. It has happened several times at the exact same stop sign right before I come to a complete stop. It is happening more frequently.

I have a 2019 Ford F150 XLT. The vehicle has the technology package which allows you to start /stop the vehicle with an app in your phone. I assume the motor has bluetooth attached to it. The problem is that when your driving the vehicle will just shut down. Once this happens you have to stop the vehicle, put it in park, and restart the engine. There is usually not a problem restarting the engine. However, this creates a immense safety issue when your on the interstate and your vehicle stops. Another issue is that it doesnt happen all the time. I would estimate 3-6 times a month. And there are no codes illuminated to identify the problem.

There is constant and irratic shifting unless throttle is aggressively pushed seems this issue will eventually cause car accident for me or others experiencing same issues . 2019 Ford F-150 was turned on using Remote Start feature. I allowed the truck to run for about 10 minutes before getting into the driver seat. When I closed my Driver Side Door, the Rear Windshield shattered. I immediately exited the vehicle and took photos of the shattered glass. Broken glass fell into my back seat and even into the bed of the truck. Thankfully no one was sitting in the back passenger seats. My local Ford Dealership, where I am leasing said vehicle from, advised me to bring the truck in so they could have a look at it. I advised them that the back windshield was falling apart and glass was continuing to fall into the back seat and into the outside bed/trunk. A service advisor told me they can’t do anything unless I bring it in. I sent them the photos I took and clarified to them that the window will surely break apart more if I drive it. The dealership said that’s fine, just bring it in. I wrapped the back windshield, best as I could, with garbage bags. As to not allow for the falling glass to come into the vehicle and strike me or others while driving. When I arrived at my Local Ford Dealership, a Service Advisor told me that I was not the first case of this occurring. The Service Advisor told me she has seen quite a few Ford F-150’s come in with owners complaining about spontaneous shattering of the back windshield. I asked her what is the cause of such an unusual occurrence. The Service Advisor told me it had to do with the rear window defroster. My rear window defroster was turned on and active at the time and moment the back window shattered. The remote start feature for the truck, always turns the rear defroster on. A quick online search, will also prove that Ford has been neglecting this issue and has not been willing to help their customers fix their back windshields. This is absolutely unacceptable and an enormous safety hazard. Not only for passengers within the vehicle but motorist on roadways, who happen to be driving behind the truck.

LUCKILY I SAFELY PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY WHERE THE ONLY THING THAT REMAINED "ON" WAS A MESSAGE SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT TRANSMISSION NOT BEING IN PARK. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, REMOVING THE KEYS, THE VEHICLE STARTED UP AGAIN LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 25K MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. A SIMILAR INCIDENT OCCURRED IN A PARKING LOT WHEN I HAD 300 MILES ON IT BUT THE ERROR MESSAGE WAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT. THAT TIME IT TOOK 10 MINUTES TO GET THE CAR UP AND RUNNING. TRUCK WAS APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR OLD WITH 13,500 MILES AND WHEN I WOULD START THE TRUCK, WITH THE A/C ON, YOU WOULD GET A STRONG SMELL OF VINEGAR COMING FROM THE VENTS. THE SMELL WOULD GO AWAY AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS. WHILE CLEANING THE TRUCK I REALIZED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR MAT WAS WET AS WELL. BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY ORIGINALLY WORKED ON THE A/C AND AFTER SEVERAL VISITS THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE CARPET OF THE TRUCK DUE TO THE DAMPNESS. SAME ISSUES CONTINUED AND I WAS TOLD THEY FOUND A LEAKY DOOR SEAL, WHICH WOULD EXPLAIN THE DAMPNESS ON THE FLOOR, BUT NOT THE SMELL FROM THE VENTS. DEALERSHIP RETURNED THE CAR, WITH THE INTAKE NOT PUT TOGETHER CORRECTLY (PICTURES ATTACHED), AND 48 HOURS LATER THE FLOOR WAS WET AGAIN AND THE SMELL WAS STILL THERE WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK. ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED AT THIS TIME TIME.

SINCE I HAD THE ACCELERATOR DEPRESSED TO OVERRIDE THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE AS I CHANGED LANES, THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY AND ABRUPTLY ACCELERATED. THERE IS A COVER MADE OF PLASTIC UNDER THE TRANSMISSION THAT IS HELD ON BY 4 SMALL BOLTS WITH BIG WASHERS. DRIVING IN STRONG WINDS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE BACK 2 PLASTIC HOLDERS BROKE. THIS APPROXIMATE 34 INCHES ACROSS PLASTIC IS HANGING DOWN. SEEMS TO ME IT IS GUARDING SOME VITAL PARTS UNDER THERE. SURE WARRANTY WILL REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF PLASTIC WHICH WILL SURELY FAIL IN TIME. THEN IT WILL BE MY EXPENSE. IN REPEATED COLLISION TESTS THE PRE-COLLISION ASSIST SYSTEM (STANDARD EQUIPMENT VERSION) INVARIABLY FAILED. FORD HAS BEEN COMPLETELY UNHELPFUL IN RESOLVING THE ISSUE AND HAS IMPLIED I SHOULDN'T EXPECT IT TO WORK! SEVERAL OTHER F-150S HAVE BEEN TESTED LOCALLY AND ALSO FAILED COLLISION TESTS . I STRONGLY SUSPECT THE STANDARD EQUIPMENT VERSION OF PRE-COLLISION ASSIST SYSTEM IS FAULTY IN MANY 2019 FORD PICKUPS. I HAVE VIDEOS OF MY TESTS BUT SEE NO WAY TO GET THEM TO YOU.

ADDITIONAL PHOTO RELATING TO COMPLAINT #11194721 THE CAUSE OF THE TILTED 2" RECEIVER TUBES ON THE 2019 F-150 TRUCKS IS DUE TO THE INCORRECT ATTACHMENT OF THE WELD BRACKET IS NOT FLUSH WITH THE MAIN STRUCTURE THEREFORE CAUSING THE RECEIVER TUBE TO TILT DOWN. SEE ATTACHED PHOTO.

SEE ATTACHED PHOTO RELATED TO COMPLAINT #11194721 OEM FACTORY INSTALLED TOW HITCH RECEIVER TUBE NOT PARALLEL, CAUSING INCORRECT ALIGNMENT OF TRAILER COUPLING TO TOW HITCH BALL.

FACTORY INSTALLED TOW HITCH RECEIVER TUBE IS NOT LEVEL. THE 2" SQUARE TUBE WAS NOT WELDED EXACTLY PERPENDICULAR TO THE TOW RECEIVER STRUCTURE. THE 2" RECEIVER TUBE IS TILTED DOWN 1/4" CAUSING THE COUPLING TO BE "JACKKNIFED" DOWN. THE TOP OF THE TOW BALL IS NOT LEVEL WHICH WILL CONTRIBUTE TO UNEVEN PRESSURE / STRESS ON THE SHANK OF THE BALL WHEN TOWING A TRAILER. USING A 8" TORPEDO LEVEL WILL SHOW THE DEFECT. SEVEN OUT OF TWENTY-ONE 2019 NEW F-150 TRUCKS I LOOKED AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAD THE SAME DEFECT. UNEVEN STRESS / PRESSURE ON THE BALL SHANK MAY CAUSE THE SHANK AND BALL TO FAIL WHEN TOWING THE MAXIMUM 9000 POUNDS.
