Front passenger door lock will not function. the lock does not lock or unlock with the key fob or the interior door lock controls.
Extremely loud electrical POP followed by loud static
The power running boards are malfunctioning continuously, I have fallen out of the driver side twice and now have injury to my right shoulder trying to stop myself using the arm rest. They will either not come out or will retract while trying to step up or will not come out at all, making it extremely difficult to get into the truck without them deployed. Also, will start to deploy and stop mid-way. I will attach a photo taken today.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon attempting to unlock the doors of the vehicle with the key fob, only the front driver's side door unlocked. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that while attempting to manually unlock the tailgate, the tailgate failed to unlock as intended. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the failure could be related to an unknown actuator recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

i AM RECEIVING ALERTS ON MY FORD APP STATING THAT IT IS A PARKING AID ALERT BECAUSE OF ELECTRICAL ISSE WITHIN THE VEHICLE. ALSO STATES TO SERVICE ENGINE SOON ALERT BECAUSE OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE HAS BEEN DETECTED WITH YOUR VEHICLE. THIS MAY CAUSE THE ENGINE START/STOP FEATURE (IF EQUIPPED) TO NOT WORK. CHECKING ON THIS I FOUND 0 ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE FOR RECALLS. WITH FURTHER CHECKING I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL TO BE DONE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN GET THIS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL. I ALSO NOTICE WHEN STARTING MY VEHICLE IN THE MORNINGS THAT IT SMOKES OUT OF BOTH TAILPIPES AND LASTS APPROXIMATELY ONE TO TWO MINUTES. There is an existing recall for 2020 ford f150's NHTA 25V442 Ford 25S72. Pertaining to the sync 3 malfunctioning as Ford put it "Ford says that an error in the SYNC infotainment system could cause a blank image to be displayed while reversing, or the rear-view image may remain on display even after a driver has stopped reversing." My vehicle is and has been doing this for a very long time. Sa.e problem. However, my vehicle VIN is not included in the recall. Will it be added at a later date?
I have 2 problems with my vehicle that have been going on for a while now. First there is an existing recall for 2020 ford f150's NHTA 25V442 Ford 25S72. However, my vehicle VIN is not included in the recall. Though it should be since it is the exact same problem. The other safety issue I have is the front facing camera. It has completely stopped working quite some time ago. I asked ford about it, and they told me they would have to charge me to look into it. I don't have the money to throw at problems that should be fixed under recall because they are safety issues. This camera not working shuts down the pre collision assist which is very dangerous. It also controls the auto hi and lo beam for seeing at night, and last but not least the cruise control doesn't work without it.
Tailgate came open events, while no one in the truck previous recall fix did not work as Google is stating the original recall fix did not work.
My gears shift hard when slowing down or when letting go of the gas pedal. The infotainment center blacks out. I took it in to Ford Dealership and was told the transmission needed to be replaced. I don’t drive fast nor abuse my truck. I don’t use my truck for construction; I simply drive to work and home. I have 67K miles and bought the truck in 2020, brand new. It’s very concerning that at 67K the transmission needs replacement. The cost for replacing the transmission is $8,000.00 dollars.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument cluster failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the instrument cluster displayed a black screen. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed instrument cluster. The contact was informed that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the dealer had replaced the original instrument cluster two years prior to the failure. The contact stated that the repair was covered under warranty. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

When clicking lock and unlock on the key fob or door panel, all doors lock and unlock EXCEPT the driver door. It does not move no matter what you do. Replaced the fuse and that did nothing. This truck is approx 5 years old and should not have electrical failing like this.
Got into my truck as normal and closed the driver side door, only to find the notification on the dash that the driver side door was still ajar. While driving, the alert just keeps sounding off and the dome lights will not go off. It appears that the door latch sensor is faulty, or at least that seems to be the consensus from the dealership. But I've also read that it could potentially be the wiring harness. Safety is at risk because this creates many distractions while trying to drive. The lights stay on, there is constant alerts going off on the dash, and notifications pop up every time I stop or slow down, and I have to manually set my dash back to the odometer so I can see how fast I'm going. 3 separate distractions all from 1 issue. The dealership just wants to replace the door latch because the sensor is built in. But they state it is a common occurrence, and there are plenty of instances just like this online. I am taking my truck to the dealership tomorrow to have them look and potentially replace the door latch because I can't handle the constant alerts while driving. There was no prior indicators to this issue. I drove my truck to work just fine, parked it, and went to get in it at lunch and then the problems began. Out of nowhere.
When the vehicle is cold, and the transmission has not yet warmed up, putting the truck into gear results in a significant jerk. Specifically: Initial Gear Engagement (Drive/Reverse): When shifting into either drive or reverse from park, especially when the engine is cold, there is a noticeable delay before the gear engages. This delay is followed by a harsh "jerk" or "thud" as the gear finally engages. Reverse to Drive Transition: When shifting from reverse to drive, a similar delay and jerk occurs before drive engages. Hard Shifting: In addition to the initial engagement issues, the transmission exhibits delayed and harsh shifting for several minutes when cold. Shifting is not smooth and seems delayed then shifts very hard and aggressively when driving during the warm up period. Clunking Noises: While driving, I intermittently hear clunking noises when the transmission shifts gears. This occurs at [ Mention the specific times or driving scenarios when you observe this - e.g., "low speeds," "during upshifts/downshifts," "when accelerating," etc. ]. These problems are most pronounced when the engine and transmission are cold and seem to gradually improve (though not completely disappear) as the vehicle warms up. I am concerned that these symptoms indicate a serious problem with the transmission. I have asked a Ford Dealer to look at this and they state that there is NO RECALL for my VIN #. They have always appeared since I purchased this truck.
dash screen went blank while driving engine has a sound like lifters rattling vehicle lost all electrical connectivity and then it finally came back on no other instances
On [XXX] I took the truck to Ford dealer after noticing the front floor passenger side carpet was wet and door locks and electronic tire pressure indicator failed to operate correctly. Ford service dept found a/c drain was letting water back into passenger compartment and caused body control module (bcm) failure. Bcm was replaced after 2 1/2 months in the service dept. Returned on 8/26/24, 9/18/24, and 10/22/24 for same water intrusion problem. Different repair done on 10/22/24 to remedy problem. Service dept contacted Ford national office and learned this was considered a design flaw by Ford. Expected a recall will be issued. Remedial treatment for mold was applied because I had been smelling a vinegar smell in the truck cab which is typical smell for presence of mold. This is the primary safety issue I believe exists, but failure of body control module could cause other safety problems. . No recall issued yet.
The driver door doesn’t lock or unlock unless opened from the inside. The actuator is more than likely the issue but ford dealership told me it was $185 to diagnose then the total would be around $500 if the actuator is the issue. My truck only has 50,000 miles on it and I can’t get in it without crawling over the seat to open the door.
The rear view camera turned black, sometimes purple, the image is distorted. I googled it and it says 700,000 F150's were recalled for this problem but when I called the Ford where I live they said it didn't have a recall
I have a problem with the door sensor, when temperature drops below 60 the system shows the door is open and doesn't let me lock any door even after driving, keeping the lights inside and outside the vehicle to stay on, this lead in few times to the alarm goes off during the night, the problem is that I have 2 kids they always use their seat belts but my little one sometimes put the hand on the door handle so to prevent any accidents I have to use to lock mechanism so the door can only be open from outside, but this is frustrating because I have to disconnect the battery in order to preserve power , seems this is not an isolated incident many people have the same issue.
Cruise control was set at approx. 62 mph driving on the Interstate. An exit was taken and coming down the off ramp the truck would not slow down. It seems the brakes did not disconnect the cruise control. Brakes were both pumped and firmly depressed. No response when the gear shift was placed in a lower gear. The electronic system did not shut off after the ignition was placed in the off position. An inspection is warranted, expected and welcome. This was a Sudden Unintentional Acceleration (SUA) incident/accident!!! Numerous other vehicles were placed in danger while crossing a major intersection. Two fire trucks responding to an emergency were passed at 50 miles an hour. Many other occupied vehicles and individuals at an apartment complex were in danger of being killed or injured. As of right now the vehicle has not been inspected by the insurance claims adjuster, so right now it has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center (but is welcomed to be done). The vehicle or components have not yet be inspected by the manufacture, police or insurance representative (but I would be willing to allow it). There was no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. It was totally unexpected and a complete surprise.
I have an actuated door lock on the drivers door for electronic locks. It recently started buzzing and not locking when I lock the doors, all of the other locks work fine. This lock buzzes whether I push the button inside the truck, push the lock button on the fob and also when driving about 5 miles per hour. Again, all of the other locks work as they are supposed to. I looked and asked my dealer about a recall on this issue and there is not one. I have a co-worker who had a similar problem with his ford truck that is a few years older and he received a letter from Ford extending his warranty so the part would be replaced at no cost to him. I am requesting the same thing as mine 2020 Ford has the problem currently and even though I can lock it manually when I use the keypad to unlock the doors it does not work either and I feel this is a safety issue and would like it corrected. I have attached a copy of the letter my co-worker received with the program number included for repair. The contact owned a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that his employees had driven the vehicle to a work site. While at the work site, the vehicle caught fire while the engine was off. An employee stated that flames appeared to have come from the vehicle's dashboard. An attempt was made to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher; however, the flames quickly engulfed the vehicle. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was destroyed as a result of the fire. One of the contact's employees suffered first and second-degree burns to the face. The employee was taken to a hospital where they were treated for their injury. A police report was not filed. The decal from a storage unit was melted, a blinker cover on an RV was destroyed, and several nearby trees were damaged. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard where it remained in their possession. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be inspected; the cause of the fire remained unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

DRIVER'S DOOR WON'T LOCK ANYMORE. IF YOU PUSH THE BOTTON DOWN TO LOCK YOUR TRUCK AND TRY TO UNLOCK WITH KEYFOB; THE PANIC SYSTEM GOES OFF. NO ACCIDENTS ON THIS TRUCK. JUST STOPPED WORKING. WHEN YOU ACCELERATE AND ALL OF YOUR LOCKS ARE SUPPOSED TO LOCK AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE JUST MAKES A NOISE AND DOES NOT LOCK. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after parking on an incline with the engine running, the contact exited the vehicle and moments later the vehicle reversed and crossed a busy road before driving into ditch. The contact stated that during the failure the vehicle nearly collided with a second vehicle while crossing the road. Prior to the failure, the vehicle experienced electrical failures causing the check engine, ABS, Hill Descent and Traction Control warning lights to intermittently flash on and off. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 159,283.

Back up camera does not display item location for contact area. Related to APIM malfunction. Gps and radio controls also not working due to bad APIM
Not one check engine light has ever come on. Bought this truck new off the lot, now to almost 60,000 mi. Every single component on this truck, immediately failed. Bucking/ jerking/ chugging on acceleration and maintaining speed while inclining. Incorrect gear selection 90% of the time. Going 5 mph with no foot on the gas, it up shifts and takes off down my driveway. Sudden down shifts causing violent decreases in speed. When braking the truck may rail on the brakes and "assist" you to stop or it may decrease reading of the pressure of your braking. Tire pressure sensors don't read accurately. Digital and analog speed read differently. The truck nudges itself side to side on the road. Truck will change the steering tension going around corners, so the driver must react to stay on track. Not going around corners the steering tension will change. Almost 2 in of play in the steering at times while sometimes one side is more responsive than the other. If not wearing a seat belt and the alarm goes off while the blinker is on, the blinker will slow down until the alarm stops then pick back up again. The RPM gauge doesn't respond at all or accurately. It will stay at 1,500- going up hill, accelerating, braking. The RPM's read inversely while down shifting. For 2.5 years SYNC update wouldn't install, a month after last attempt, it connected to my WIFI and updated itself. For 6 months, I dropped calls every time in one spot. Then I unplugged my phone from the center USB and I never dropped calls there again, unless I chose to have my phone plugged in charging. No start, couldn't find fob. No unlock. Unlocks on own. Heated seat and steering wheel turn on without the button. Burning smell coming from the motor <5,000mi. A/C never cold and heat never hot. Both sound like they are blowing hard, but the vents could barley rock a face mask back and forth. USB plugs don't have great power. The AC outlets have never had enough to charge anything. My BIL phone treated as key fob.
The APIM failed when the vehicle had less than 25,000 miles on it. It was paid for by an extended vehicle warranty, instead of being paid by Ford for bad equipment. It is now back in the shop and they want to charge almost $400 to provide a software update to the equipment that was just replaced. I had the same issue on a 2020 Lincoln Aviator. APIM had to be replaced, my extended warranty was used to replace it, and now it needs an update to work properly. Please require dealerships to enter these issues, not vehicle owners.
Rear tailgate Camera failed
1 year ago I started getting the “Charge System Fault” alert on my truck, took to the shop and they advised the battery needed to be replaced. After replacing, a few weeks later it started happening again, so they did further testing and advised the alternator was bad. Replaced the alternator and 6 months later the alert started intermittently again. It has been sporadically ever since when at an idle and doesn’t stay on long enough to have on a reader to reflect what is really wrong. I’ve attached the error from my FordPass app that comes thru once in a while but it’s frequent on the truck dash while it’s running, at idle whether in park or at a stop light. It’s not every time the truck is running, but becoming more frequent again.
While driving in the rain, my vehicle had a complete electrical failure. I could not accelerate or even turn the vehicle off. Because of this I could not move my vehicle off the highway. Fortunately I was not hit by the vehicle behind me, and was not in a turn. he Several warning lights came on. After being towed to a dealership, it was found that the factory windshield was leaking into the passenger side area where the Body Control Module (BCM) is housed. This flooded the unit and completely killed the truck. It was surprising to me that rain had the ability to completely render my truck useless. The manufacturer would not cover any repairs as they claimed windshield leaks were a maintenance issue.
1. The start/stop function will not restart at some long stop lights. I have to restart the vehicle. 2. The wiper will come on without being turned on. 3. The brake have started to grind like, the brake pads are bad. The brake will grind sometimes when coming to a stop. They have been checked and a recent service also. The brakes do this even during the day. The dealership found the brakes to be working in perfect order. 4. Transmission issues have been resolved to a point. 5. Service department great, however; the can duplicate issues with vehicle.
My back window randomly shattered when it wasn’t being driving. I assumed a rock was flung up from the road from another vehicle, causing it to shatter, but when I took it to get it replaced, the glass technician pointed out that the defroster heater wire overheated, causing the glass to shatter. Reports online show this has happened before. My tech said it could have caught the truck on file. I tried to upload photos of the shattered window and the burnt electrical wire, but the website wouldn’t let me.
Passenger front door lock failed and we were unable to access passenger during, what was interpreted as a medical emergency. The only way to access passenger was to go through the rear passenger door.
The computer system would set off all the alarms and shut down truck. Yes i think it can be inspected. My safety was at risk when truck would shut down traveling down the road at highway speeds and losing power brakes, power steering overall control, and this would happen when raining and wet slushy conditions on the road way. Yes No not to my knowledge. Yes all the alarms would go off and a second later vehicle would shut down. It was always during wet conditions, sometimes alarms would all go off and truck would stay running i would pull over to side of road and alarms would go away i believe after drying out?
The plastic housing for the rear tail light cracked without any accident or stress and water intrusion occurred resulting in a blown sensor module that in turn caused massive issues with how the truck ran. Electrical components would not function including safety features like airbags and windows.
Park brake limited function. Service required. Says my brake light is on. Drains my battery. Is this the same Recall for 2021 & 2022??
Reporting this same incident type again. My truck continues to sporadically shutoff while operating the vehicle. My truck has shutoff while driving twice in the past 2 months. Under normal driving conditions I can be driving and suddenly the engine will shutoff and I lose all power and power steering. The latest episode I was turning right with traffic approaching behind with my kids in the truck as well. The error on the dash is the same every time “Auto StartStop Manual Restart Required”. I have to come to a complete stop and put the truck in park to be able to restart. Having to stop on a very busy road to restart is a major safety issue and I believe this truck will end up hurting myself or others. I have had the truck into ford more than once and they claim there is no problem even though I show pictures and video. I contacted ford directly again and they really don’t seem to care very much, from what I can tell they refuse to acknowledge I have a problem with the truck. Please help me.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that rodents and squirrels had eaten the wiring on multiple occasions. The ABS, cruise control, parking, and traction control warning lights illuminated and became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring had been chewed on and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the ABS, cruise control, parking, and traction control warning lights illuminated. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

Most everytime I start the vehicle, i get asked to confirm settings for the Sync System. I have attached pictures of what the screen says. Sometimes the rear camera works but other times it does not work. Sometimes the system will prompt me while I am driving making the sync navigation unable to be seen on the screen. Sometimes I have a black screen for entire drive with no functions like the backup camera or any other function. Sometimes it shows my reverse camera for my entire drive, even if I never put the truck in reverse. Also the Radio blasts whatever station it feels like which almost caused me to have an accident. I contacted Ford with no timetable for a fix. Was told that this is happening to a lot of vehicles with Sync 3.4. There's a partition on the onboard computer that's responsible for remembering settings that fills up, then you get this behavior constantly - forgetting camera and preset settings, popping up this message, not remembering the last radio station, etc. This is a very dangerous situation that Ford must have not tested for a bug in the Sync system before sending the software update out to be installed in the vehicle. Every time I drive the vehicle, it is dangerous when the sync system malfunctions.
Trailer brake controller to apply breaks to Trailer is not working and unable to stop safety. Problem has been reproduced with dealership. The trailer control module has been replaced and did not resolve the issue. Still have no trailer brakes. Errors I get is " Trailer disconnected or no trailer hooked up" does this with any trailer I hooked up. Tried with 3 different types. As of right now the dealership does not know what is going on. Everything on my trailer is working according to dealer. I even took trailer to dealership and is there now for testing. It's been a week now and still have no clue what is the problem and spending alot of money to even find the problem that no one knows how to fix.
GPS/ RADIO FAILING,UNDER WARRANTY FORD TRIED TO FIX, NEEDS A NEW RADIO BUT DOESN'T KNOW WHEN THEY CAN GET ONE. ALSO CRUSE CONTROL NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY- FORD DEALER REPLACED STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS BUT ON ONE OCCASION WHEN PUSHING THE REDUCE SPEED BUTTON THE TRUCK KEPT ACCELERATING TO 10 MILES ABOVE SPEED LIMIT BEFORE IT DISENGAGED. FORD GARAGE SAID IF THEY CAN'T GET IT TO REPEAT THIS PROBLEM, THEY CAN'T FIX IT. DRIVERS SEAT WHEN PARKED RECLINES ON ITS OWN, AGAIN GARAGE COULD NOT GET IT TO REPEAT THE PROBLEM SO NOT FIXED. POSSIBLE EMERGENCY BRAKE RECALL. TRUCK GIVES NO FAULT CODES. WAS TOLD NOT TO USE CRUSE CONTROL BUT THEN IF IT DOESN'T REPEAT THE PROBLEM FORD WON'T FIX IT. I AND MY WIFE NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN THE TRUCK AND AM TRYING TO GET FORD TO BUY IT BACK. NO PAPERWORK GIVEN AT THE TIME OF REPAIRS BECAUSE THEY COULD FIX NOTHING. SPITZER FORD IN DUBOIS IS THE GARAGE I USED. 3 YEAR ORIGINAL TRUCK WARRANTY WILL SOON EXPIRE, I BELIEVE IN SEPTEMBER OR EARLY OCTOBER OF 2023.
Having issues with sync 3. Radio default settings are not being saved, phone will not stay connected, sync auto update confirmbscreen appears at every vehicle start up, voice command will not work for phone calls, some times when using "call person abc" the system navigation wants to start up. Sync boot up is very slow to start up. I attempted system master rest working with Ford customer care. The sync system went screen blank and locked up. I eventually had to disconnect battery to final get a successful boot up. This seemed to clear up issues for about 1 week then all symptoms came back but worse. I brought this to dealer three times. First two times they could not reproduce issues but tried master rest of sync 3. This was only a short term fix (a couple days at best). They were very helpful but were having very difficult time to reproduce. Third time they finally got APIM to fail. Prior to replacing module dealer called me back and said they just had another customer come in with similar F150 to mine stating same issues. Dealer investigated again and found that we both had the same over the air updates pushed to our vehicles within a 2 week time frame around February to March 2023. Dealer believes Ford may have sent out corrupt update. The recommendation by dealer was to wait a month or so to see if Ford pushes out new update. They did not feel by replacing APIM would resolve if software was corrupt. It has now been about 30 days and no news of any new sync 3 updates. Issue has progressively gotten worse to the point that I have to reload my phone everytime I start my truck and hope maybe it will work with voice activated hands free feature. Radio still will not hold previous settings in memory and system auto update screen consistently pops up with every vehicle restart. Attempted to to manual software updates but it reports my sync software is up to date.
Ford issued an update for the sync 3 system (3.4) and now the radio / camera system resets on each start up. When this happens, the back up camera feed gets hung up and freezes, causing either a collision unknowingly or difficulty on backing with a trailer. The radio loses most of the settings that are usually saved. There is a whole internet discussion about this problem and it seems that the memory does not overwrite and causes the system to reset each time. Ford has not addressed this issue with an update yet.
While driving my 2020 Ford F150 a few days ago I was stopping for a red light. After stopping the truck completely powered off and gave a warning alert on the dash that stated " Auto Start Stop Shift to P, then Restart Engine. During this time the red battery light was also on and the Auto Start Stop light that normally light green when active or gray when inactive was yellow and flashing. I have since taken the truck to my local dealer who cant seem to find a issue. I have however done my own research online and have been seeing that this seems to be a well known issue with Ford brand.
The Blindspot system, cross tragic system, airbags, and climate control all were disabled intermittently. Climate control disabled allowed my windows to fog up impairing visibility which posed immediate danger of collisions. I read an online forum and found that my tail light had water in it which created a short to all those systems.
I was driving and the engine cutoff auto start stop message popped up had to stop and put the truck in park then turn the key to restart engine.
Front passenger door will not unlock with key fob or driver door unlock button. Had repaired at Ford house once, currently in again as of 10/3/22
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH and attempting to accelerate, a warning message to pull over and restart the vehicle was displayed. The vehicle independently powered down and was restarted by the contact to keep driving. The contact stated that the failure occurred twice. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 23,900.
Mileage: 23,900
Ii stopped at a stop sign and the auto stop feature engaged. As I began to pull out the engines started and then stalled. I received an error message in the message center above the steering wheel, it said “AUTO STOP START SHIFT TO P THE RESTART THE ENGINE”. Fortunately it was a secondary road. There was a car coming but I was able to coast to the side of the road, activate my flashers before he arrived. I put the vehicle in park and was able to restart the engine without a problem. It did not happen again.
Truck turned over but display was blank and all gauges read off. Front windows would not roll down. The check manual(wrench) was indicated on the DIC. Truck had been shifting strangely for a few days and it’s performance seems diminished. Will be checked at dealer. Battery checked and no problems nor loose cables found.
I was driving down the highway when my engine starting shaking so bad I could barely control the steering. I managed to get to the side of the road, and even in park the whole truck was shaking. Had to call a tow truck (cost $100) to take it to nearest Ford dealer. Rodents had chewed through wiring to fuel injectors and knock sensor ($1400). This was the second incident of rodent damage on the wiring of this truck. Mechanic said the soy-based wire coating Ford is using is irresistible to rodents. Insurance company said rodent damage claims on the vehicles using this type of wire coating are 59x higher than on other vehicles. This is a safety concern because of things like happened to me! I could have very possibly wrecked due to this shaking that was so violent. The other event caused my locking system to malfunction. I could have been locked in my vehicle! This is unacceptable. My previous vehicle (Jeep) was parked in the exact same location daily and never had a rodent damage incident. Ford needs to address this!!
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 55 MPH, the vehicle lost motive and electronic power. The vehicle rolled to a complete stop. After approximately five minutes a message on the center display stated, “Shift vehicle to Park and restart”. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the residence. The next day the contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

The tail gate lowered on its own while we were driving down a high way and towing our camper. It dented the propane tanks and shifted the hitch system in addition to totaling the tail gate.
FOR THE 3RD TIME WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY 2020 F150 STX WITH ONLY 4,218 MILES THE ENGINE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND DISPLAYED 'AUTO STARTSTOP SHIFT TO P, THEN RESTART ENGINE' ON THE DASH DISPLAY. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON 4/22/21 I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A STREET GOING ABOUT 20 MPH. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME OR BEHIND ME AND I WAS NOT TRYING TO TURN AT AN INTERSECTION WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A COLLISION. THE SAME THING HAD HAPPENED ON 3/18/21 WHILE DRIVING ON A STREET GOING ABOUT 15 MPH. AND THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON 2/20/21 I WAS PULLING IN TO MY DRIVEWAY SO STOPPING AND DOING SO WAS NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM. I AM REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM I FELT VERY UNSAFE IN MY TRUCK IF THIS PROBLEM DOESN'T GET RESOLVED PEOPLE CAN GET IN TO AN ACCIDENT AND GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND ALSO CHECKED MY VIN FOR ANY RECALLS AND I WAS SURPRISED TO NOT FIND ANY. FROM RESEARCHING ONLINE FORUMS THE AUTO START/STOP FUNCTION APPEARS TO BE FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED/RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. THIS ISSUE APPEARS TO BE WIDESPREAD AND ACROSS MULTIPLE MODEL YEARS. ON 4/24/21 I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT THE TECH CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THEY RAN SEVERAL TESTS AND THE TRUCK DID NOT GIVE ANY PROBLEM CODES. FOR SAFETY DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DID NOT WANT ME TO DRIVE TRUCK SO THEY WOULD KEEP IT AND WOULD CONTACT FORD TO REPORT ISSUE AND WAIT FOR THEIR RECOMMENDATION. I'M STILL WAITING FOR UPDATE. I HOPE FORD TAKES THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY AND DOES A RECALL.

FORD CAMERAS RECALL: 20C19 AND 20B39. I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL DURING NORMAL MAINTENANCE ON MARCH 1, 2021, NOT VIA FORD HEADQUARTERS. APPARENTLY, THE RECALL WAS ON 09/23/20. TWO DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIPS (IN PALM DESERT AREA) HAVE SAID ONE OF THE CAMERAS IS ON BACKORDER WITH NO CLEAR INDICATION WHEN IT WOULD BE RECEIVED FOR INSTALLATION. THEREFORE, FROM THE DATE OF THE RECALL UNTIL NOW (APPROXIMATELY 6-MONTHS), I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE CORRECTED PARTS OR INSTALLATION.
COMPLAINT IS THAT FORD WILL NOT COMPLETE THE WORK ON THEIR RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE FRONT CAMERA INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT WORK. ISSUE STARTED APPROXIMATELY 9-10 MONTHS AGO AT WHICH TIME IT OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 20% OF THE TIME. FORD ISSUED A RECALL NOTICE ON 9/23/20 TO ADDRESS THIS AND AFTER 6 MONTHS THEY STILL WILL NOT REPAIR MY TRUCK. THE FRONT CAMERA FAILS TO OPERATE APPROXIMATELY 90% OF THE TIME AT THIS POINT.

THERE IS A KNOWN RECALL ON THE BACKUP CAMERA WTIH FORD. BUT MY LOCAL DEALER HAS THE PART ON BACKORDER FOR GOING ON 3 MONTHS NOW. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. HOW CAN A MAJOR COMPANY ISSUE A RECALL AND THEN NOT HAVE THE PART AVAILABLE TO FIX FOR MORE THAN 3 MONTHS?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2020 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LANE DEPARTURE AND BLIND SPOT DETECTION FAILED TO ALERT THE DRIVER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT CAMERA SENSORS FAILED TO ALERT THE DRIVER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A WARNING MESSAGE STATING DRIVER ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE, WOULD APPEAR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HARBIN MOTOR COMPANY, INC. (564 MICAH WAY, SCOTTSBORO, AL 35769) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE WINDSHIELD NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CAMERA SENSOR WAS LOCATED INSIDE THE WINDSHIELD. THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 600. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

FOR THE SECOND TIME TODAY, MY 2020 F150 HAS TURNED ITSELF OFF, WHILE I WAS DRIVING, WITH A MESSAGE TO "SHIFT TO PARK AND RESTART ENGINE". I HAPPENED TO BE PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY, SO STOPPING AND DOING SO WAS NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME, I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP AND DO THIS, BUT IF THIS HAPPENS ON A ROAD, OR WORSE, WHEN ENTERING AN INTERSECTION WHEN CROSSING WITHOUT STOPPING IS NECESSARY, SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED.. I HAVE NOT BOTHERED TO REPORT THIS TO FORD, BECAUSE I AM ACTIVE ON AN F150 FORUM AND HAVE FOUND THAT THIS SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OTHER PEOPLE, AND FORD HAS NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. I NOTICED SEVERAL PEOPLE SAID IT HAPPENED WHEN THE WEATHER WAS CHILLY - ONE PERSON SAID IT WAS 42 DEGREES. IN MY CASE, THE WEATHER TODAY IS 40, AND IT WAS SIMILAR WEATHER LAST TIME IT HAPPENED. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS IS RELATED, BUT IT'S AN INTERESTING COINCIDENCE OTHERWISE. MY CAR WAS MODERATELY WARMED UP, I HAD ONLY DRIVEN ABOUT 8 MILES. PICTURE OF THE DASH FROM TODAY'S INCIDENT ATTACHED. IN BOTH CASES, THE TRUCK WAS OTHERWISE DRIVING FINE, GIVING NO INDICATION OF PROBLEMS, AND ALSO STARTED RIGHT BACK UP AND SHOWED NO OTHER PROBLEM. IT HAS PROBABLY BEEN ABOUT 3 MONTHS SINCE THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND TIME WAS TODAY - 3.16.2021

MY -150 LARIAT HAS BEEN GIVING ME PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT COLLISION CAMERA AND DETECTS WHEN NO OTHER VEHICLES ARE AROUND. MY COMPUTER FOR SYNC DOES NOT ALWAYS TURN ON AND FREEZES NOT ALLOWING ME TO USE NAVIGATION AND OTHER FEATURES. I ALMOST GOT INTO THREE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. IN THE SAME NIGHT WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AT ONE POINT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS STUCK AT 67MPH YET THE TRUCK ACCELERATED WELL OVER 70MPH. MY BRAKES DID NOT WORK PROPERLY SEVERAL TIMES. I PRESSED THEM AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. I TOOK IT IN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY ESSENTIALLY TOLD ME NO CODES COULD VERIFY THE PROBLEMS. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE AND I AND OTHER DRIVERS WERE PUT IN SEVERE DANGER.

FORD ELIMINATED THE ENGINE COVER IN 2019 EXPOSING THE ENGINE WIRING TO THE ELEMENTS. SINCE THE WIRING INSULATION IS MADE FROM SOY THIS ALLOW FOR RODENTS TO CLIME UP INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND CHEW AT THE EXPOSED WIRES. THIS CAN DISABLES THE VEHICLE OR SET A VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHTS AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. IN MY CASE THE VEHICLE LOST POWER ON THE FREEWAY AND I HAD SEVERAL LIGHTS COME ON. THE TOP SPEED DROPPED FROM 70MPH TO 23MPH. BRIGHTON FORD DID REPAIR THE VEHICLE AT MY EXPENSE. GOING FORWARD EVEN THOUGH THE REPAIR HAS PUT THE VEHICLE BACK ON THE ROAD, THE POTENTIAL PROBLEM STILL EXIST. FORD CUSTOMER CARE SAID THERE IS NO SOLUTION AVAILABLE TO THIS PROBLEM I HAVE OPENED A CASE BUT I DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE IS LOOKING AT IT. I ALSO CHECK 2021 VEHICLES AND IT HAS THE SAME ISSUE.

I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW FORD TRUCK XL. F-150 ON 8/23/2020.ON 8/23/2020. THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN , AFTER A WEEK OF BEING AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY CAME TO A CONCLUSION BASED ON THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT THE VEHICLE WAS, ALLEGEDY STRUCK BY LIGHTING WITH NO VISIBLE MARKS THE FORD DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED THAT I SHOULD PUT A CLAIM IN THROUGH MY INSURANCE SINCE MY VEHICLE IS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM UNDER ACTS OF NATURE WHICH I DID. I THEN CONTACTED THE ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND HAD THE TRUCK TOWED ON 9/11/2020.AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPS AND OPENING A CLAIM THROUGH CORPORATE FORD AND THEN BEING DENIED I REACHED OUT TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY AFTER THREE INDEPENDENT APPRAISAL'S AND NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS ALONG WITH EMAILS NO ONE HAS RESPONDED TO RESOLE THIS ISSUE , IT HAS BEEN ALMOST THREE MONTHS NOW WITH NO CONCLUSION AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAS DENIED MY CLAIM DUE TO THE INCOMPETENCE OF THE FORD DEALERSHIP.

FAULTY BACKUP AND FORWARD CAMERA AT INCONSISTENT INTERVALS. CAMERA WILL BECOME VERY DARK AND VIEW IS DISTORTED MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE GOING FROM CAMERA VIEW. TRUCK WAS BOUGHT NEW IN JANUARY 2020 AND STARTED HAVING CAMERA PROBLEMS LATE THIS SUMMER. WITH COVID-19 NOT DRIVING AS MUCH AS BEFORE APRIL. THE CAMERAS ONLY WORK WHEN BACKING UP OR PULLING FORWARD AT LOW SPEED. THUS TRYING TO PARK OR EXIT A PARKING SPACE CAMERAS CAN BE OF NO HELP IF IT IS HAVING ITS SPORADIC DARK OUT.

MY TRUCK IS 5 MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES TO HAVE THE FRONT CAMERA FIXED. THEY FINALLY REPLACED THE FRONT CAMERA AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. THE TRUCK HAS A FRONT CAMERA SIDE CAMERAS AND A REAR CAMERA. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT DIFFERENT CAMERAS NOT WORKING AND FORD JUST IGNORES IT OR REPLACED THE FAULTY CAMERA WITH ANOTHER SEEMINGLY FAULTY CAMERA. NUMEROUS REPORTS AND NUMEROUS VEHICLES HAVE BEEN TO FORD WITH THE SAME ISSUE, THE CAMERAS FAILING, FRONT SIDE AND BACK UP CAMERAS. ON A TRUCK THAT COST AS MUCH AS THEY DO SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A CAMERA TO HELP PEOPLE BACK UP AND JUDGE THE DISTANCE PULLING INTO PARKING SPOTS IS PATHETIC. MANY PEOPLE WHO DON'T DRIVE TRUCKS OFTEN RELY ON THESE CAMERAS AS A SAFETY FEATURE WHEN BACKING UP OR PULLING INTO SPOTS TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER CAR. THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE MOVING 5MPH OR SLOWER FOR THE CAMERAS TO WORK AND PARKED OF MOVING THEY DO NOT WORK.
