LOOKED UP POSSIBLE CAUSES AND FOUND RECALL 05V270000 FROM 2005, WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE EXACT ISSUE I AM HAVING. CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE ZERO RECALLS PERTAINING TO THIS TRUCK AND THAT THAT PARTICULAR RECALL DOES NOT INCLUDE MY TRUCK. I HAVE SEEN MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME EXACT VEHICLE AND HOW THIS ISSUE HADN'T BEEN COVERED UNDER SAID RECALL. I HAVE THE NHTSA RECALL NO EA05003, BUT IT HAS TIMED OUT AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING ON THIS SITE. PLEASE REALIZE THAT ALL THESE SAME VEHICLE OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME DANGEROUS ISSUE AND IT ISN'T BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY FORD OR THE NHTSA.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-250 SD. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CAC TUBE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. IN 2014, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR, THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE, AND ONE GLOW PLUG. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURES CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

WE HAVE BEEN HAVING ON AND OFF PROBLEMS FOR ABOUT A YEAR WITH OUR VEHICLE STALLING WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WOULD START UP BUT ONLY GO ABOUT 3 BLOCKS AND THEN STALL AGAIN. WE HAVE REPLACED THE FICM. VEHICLE SEEMED OF FOR A FEW MONTHS AND NOW WE ARE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH IT RUNNING ROUGH AT LOW IDLE SPEEDS AND MISSING WHILE DRIVING AND RUNNING ROUGH. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD ITS THE ICP SENSOR AND THERE MAY BE A RECALL ON THESE PART.I CALLED FORD TODAY AND OUR VEHICLE DOESN NOT FALL UNDER THIS RECALL BUT YET WE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE FICM AMD ICP (RECALL05S34) CAN YOU PLEASE CHECK AND SEE IF ANY OTHER 2004 FORD F250 SUPER DUTIES ARE HAVING ISSUES ALSO THAT FORD IS NOT FIXING????? *TR

MY TRUCK STARTED TO STALL INTERMITTENTLY, I'VE HAD IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE NUMEROUS REPAIRS PERFORMED. I SAW NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V270000 WHICH REFERENCES FORD RECALL NO. 05S34. I CALLED TO INQUIRE AT WEST BROTHERS FORD IN SULLIVAN MO. AND WAS TOLD MY TRUCK HAS NO RECALLS. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE FIRST PERSON SAID THE RECALL EXPIRED AND MY TRUCK WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE SECOND PERSON SAID MY TRUCK WASN'T AFFECTED BECAUSE THE RECALL SAID "CERTAIN" VEHICLES. MY TRUCK FALLS IN THE MANUFACTURE DATES LISTED ON THE RECALL, HAS THE 6.0 ENGINE AND IS STALLING NOW. I HAVE OWNED MY TRUCK SINCE NEW AND IT HAS NOT HAD THIS WORK PERFORMED ON IT. I WOULD LIKE AN EXPLANATION OF WHAT "CERTAIN" VEHICLES APPLY TO THIS RECALL AND WHY MINE DOESN'T. OUR 2004 F250 DIESEL 4X4 SUPER DUTY WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT, PROPERLY PLUGGED IN DUE TO THE COLD. A NEIGHBOR WOKE US UP TO STATE IT WAS ON FIRE. THE ENTIRE FRONT AND INTERIOR OF THE TRUCK WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED. AFTER IT WAS EXTINGUISHED, THE COUNTY FIREMAN POINTED THE BELIEVED THE POINT OF IGNITION APPEARED TO BE AT THE FIREWALL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER & BATTERY WERE DISINTEGRATED. PLUS THE SECONDARY BATTERY & RADIATOR WERE PARTIALLY INTACT WHICH ARE IN THE FRONT. THE FIRE DEPT STATED THAT IF IT HAD BEEN A FRONTAL POINT OF IGNITION DUE TO THE BLOCK HEATER THE RADIATOR & BATTERY ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WOULD'VE BURNED FIRST DUE TO ALUMINUM MATERIALS. *TR

SUBSEQUENT EXPENSES TO MAINTAIN THIS VEHICLE IN WORKING CONDITION HAVE BEEN EXTENSIVE. 11/16/05- FUEL INJECTOR WIRING REPAIR, EXHAUST PRESSURE REPLACEMENT, AIR COOLER DUCT REPLACEMENT (WARRANTY) 11/1/06 - WATER IN FUEL LIGHT, THROTTLE UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION. 1/8/07- RUNAWAY THROTTLE STALLING, HESITATION. 10/31/07- STALLING, HESITATION REPLACED MAIN WIRE HARNESS. REPLACED ELBOW ON TURBO.12/5/08- EGR COOLER FAILED, TURBO HAD WATER AND RUST, REPLACED SAME. 10/15/09- REPLACED STARTER FICM MODULE. 1/15/10 REPLACED IPR VALVE & VGT SOLENOID, EGR COOLER FAILED AGAIN. 6/8/10- DIESEL HEAD STUD PARTS FOR REPAIR. 6/24/10 - REGULATORY & KIT, GASKET-CYLINDER. 7/7/10- HEAD STUD MODIFY. 7/20/10- REPLACED HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP & POWER STEERING PUMP. I HAVE SPENT $15,135.17 MORE FOR REPAIRS THAT SEEM TO BE REPETITIVE AND VERY EXPENSIVE. BASED ON THE REPAIR RECORD I THINK THAT EVEN YOU WOULD SAY THAT THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE'S ENGINE. I HAVE HAD THIS TRUCK FOR EIGHT YEARS AND HAVE FINALLY CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY ONLY TO LEARN THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO ASSIST WITH THE COST OF ANY REPAIRS BEYOND THE NORMAL WARRANTY PROVISIONS. *TR

I BOUGHT THIS 2004 FORD F-250,6.0 DIESEL IN MAY 2010 WITH 160K MILES ON IT BECAUSE LOTS OF PEOPLE TOLD ME TO BUY A DIESEL IT WOULD GIVE ME BETTER PERFORMANCE THAN GAS. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLES EVER SINCE. IT STARTED NOT STARTING ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. THE FORD HOUSE IS NO HELP AT ALL. IVE HAD IT THERE SEVERAL TIMES AND ALL IT DONE WAS COST ME MONEY. IT HAS NEVER STOPPED RUNNING DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD LIKE THE OTHER COMPLAINTS IV'E READ. BUT IT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED 50 OR 75 TIMES, SOMETIMES IT WILL RUN PERFECT FOR MONTHS AND ALL AT ONCE IT WONT START. SHOWING NO CODES FORD SAYS THEY CANT DO A THING. IN JULY LAST SUMMER IT DID IT 1500 MILES FROM HOME ON VACATION. I HAD A WRECKER TAKE IT TO A SHOP AND $7500.00 AND 6 WEEKS LATER THEY HAD PUT A NEW ENGINE IN IT (SAID THE CAMSHAFT BROKE AND SCORED THE PISTON WALL) I CAME HOME NOW 6 MONTHS LATER ITS DOING IT AGAIN. THERE ARE ALLOT OF OTHER COMPLAINTS POSTED BUT IT LOOKS LIKE NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING TO GET AFTER FORD MOTORS TO RECALL THIS BIG EXPENSIVE PROBLEM TO CONSUMERS. ITS BAD ENOUGH THE TRUCKS COST SO MUCH. FORD IS ABLE TO INCREASE THEIR PROFITS BY NOT RECALLING AND FIXING THIS EXPENSIVE PROBLEM. 2004 FORD SUPER DUTY DIESEL ON OCCASIONS WOULD DIE AND CONSUMER HAD DIFFICULTY RESTARTING IT.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR
WE PURCHASED A 2004 F250 TURBO DIESEL FROM MIKE BROWN FORD ON MAY 29, 2004 AND THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN. THE FIRST PROBLEM THE DEALERSHIP WIRED THE KEYLESS ENTRY INCORRECTLY AND HAD TO REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESS. AFTER THAT THE TRUCK BEGAN TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH SURGING,AND DYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP NUMEROUS TIMES, THEY HAVE REPLACED THE COMPUTER 9 TIMES, EXCHANGED THE EGR VALUES TWICE, THEY HAVE SLIPPED THE TORQUE CONVERTER, AND ALL TYPES OF REPROGRAMMED ON THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS ON THIS VEHICLE.. TO DATE THE TRUCK RUNS EXTREMELY BAD. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE, AND IS EXTREMELY SCARED OF THIS TRUCK, DO TO THE FACT THAT IT SURGES AND LOSES VACUUM AND SHOVES HER INTO INTERSECTIONS AT RED LIGHTS OR ANY OTHER TIMES SHE APPLIES THE BRAKES. THE VARIOUS FORD DEALERSHIPS ARE NO HELP THEY CONSTANTLY REPROGRAM AND RELEASE THE VEHICLE . NO MORE OR LESS THAN 5000 MILES THE VEHICLE STARTS IT AGAIN. WE BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, SEEING HOW YOU NEVER NO WHEN IT WILL DIE, OR SURGE . WE FEEL THAT THIS VEHICLE IS A DANGER TO ANYONE WHO COMES IN CONTACT WITH .*AK

THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW ON 10/31/03 AND IMMEDIATELY WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE SURGING AND RUNNING ROUGH. THE DEALER TRIED 3 TIMES AND THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A HISTORY OF OUR PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK: ON 8/23/04, ENGINE IDLE LOW AND RUNS ROUGH AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE EBP SENSOR. ON 9/2/04, THE DEALER AGAIN REPLACED THE EBP SENSOR AND THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO RUN ROUGH AND SURGE DURING IDLE. ON 9/9/04, WE SPOKE WITH THE MECHANTIC TO TELL HIM WE WERE STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK ON 1/4/05, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE WE WERE DRIVING. THE TRUCK FINALLY STARTED AND WE TOOK IT TO AUTO WAY FORD AND WAS KEPT THERE FOR 7 DAYS. THEY REPLACED THE INJECTOR HARNESS SSM18226. ON 1/24/05, THE ENGINE AGAIN SHUT OFF AND WAS TOWED TO AUTO WAY FORD. THEY WERE TOLD BY THE FORD ENGINEERS TO DO A "WIRE WIGGLE TEST". THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM BUT KEPT IT FOR 12 DAYS. THE TECH REFERRED THE PROBLEM TO GEORGE S., THE SERVICE MANAGER. ON 2/7/05, TRUCK AGAIN DIED AND HAD TO BE OWED TO AUTO WAY FORD. THE REPLACED THE FICM AND CLEARED THE MODULES. THEY HAD THE TRUCK 8 DAYS. BASED ON THE PAST HISTORY, WE ARE NOT COMFORTABLE IN TAKING THE TRUCK FOR LONG DISTANCES. ADDITIONALLY, WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE WE'RE ON AN INTERSTATE OR A BUSY ROAD. WE'RE ALSO CONCERNED THAT EVEN THOUGH WE HAD IDLE PROBLEMS IMMEDIATELY WITH THE TRUCK, THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL THE TRUCK WAS AROUND A YEAR OLD WITH ONLY 19,115 MILES. THE RELIABILITY AND SAFETY OF THIS TRUCK IS OBVIOUSLY QUESTIONABLE.
BOUGHT 2004 F-250 DIESEL 4 DOOR LARIET IN MAY. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. FIRST IT WAS TAKEN IN FOUR TIMES FOR A RATTLE HAD TO REPLACE DOOR LATCH. NEXT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING WAS PUT ON COMPUTER AND WAS TOLD NOTHING THEY COULD DO UNTIL IT TOTALLY BROKE DOWN. THEN THE TRUCK WOULD DIE AND I WOULD LOOSE STEERING AND BRAKES HAD TO REPLACE ELECTRICAL HARNESS. THE BEST ONE IS THE ODOR COMING OUT THE VENTS. HAS BEEN TO 3 DIFFERENT SHOPS IN TEXAS STILL NOT FIXED.ODOR HAS GOT SO STRONG THAT MY CHILD HAS TO TAKE MIGRAINE PILLS IF SHE IS IN THE TRUCK MORE THAN 30 MIN. I LEND UP HAVING HEADACHES,SLEEPY,SORE THROAT AND VOMITING. WAS TOLD NOT TO RUN THE A/C BUT TO RUN ON MAX A/C NO HELP FROM FORD COMPANY. PLEASE HELP US. WILL IT TAKE SOMEONE TO DIE BEFORE THEY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. *JB

THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL REGARDING THE BATTERY CABLE AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO BURN EVEN WHEN EXTINGUISHED WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY THE MANUFACTURE THE BATTERY CABLE RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE HIS VEHICLE. BATTERY HARNESS NHTSA RECALL. PLEASE PROVIDE INFORMATION. *JB

TRUCK "CUTS OUT" LOSING POWER INTERMITTENTLY WITH NO RHYME OR REASON. IT SEEMS ELECTRICAL SINCE BOTH THE GLOW PLUG LIGHT AS WELL AS THE WATER IN FUEL LIGHT COME ON FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS AND GO OFF. ONCE THEY GO OFF, IT WILL RUN AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT OCCURRENCE. I HAVE HAD THE COMPLETE FICM HARNESS (IT RAN FINE FOR TWO WEEKS AFTER THE REPLACEMENT) REPLACED BY THE DEALER.IIT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES NOW FOR A TOTAL OF 10 DAYS FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT ONLY HAS 7000 MILES. *AK
