TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2004 FORD F-250 SD. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING HER VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE AND STALL. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS PRESENT HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT INJECTORS 3,5,6 AND 7, THE EXHAUST BACK PRESSURE SENSOR AND THE FAN CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 144,788.

OUR 2004 F250 DIESEL 4X4 SUPER DUTY WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT, PROPERLY PLUGGED IN DUE TO THE COLD. A NEIGHBOR WOKE US UP TO STATE IT WAS ON FIRE. THE ENTIRE FRONT AND INTERIOR OF THE TRUCK WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED. AFTER IT WAS EXTINGUISHED, THE COUNTY FIREMAN POINTED THE BELIEVED THE POINT OF IGNITION APPEARED TO BE AT THE FIREWALL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER & BATTERY WERE DISINTEGRATED. PLUS THE SECONDARY BATTERY & RADIATOR WERE PARTIALLY INTACT WHICH ARE IN THE FRONT. THE FIRE DEPT STATED THAT IF IT HAD BEEN A FRONTAL POINT OF IGNITION DUE TO THE BLOCK HEATER THE RADIATOR & BATTERY ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WOULD'VE BURNED FIRST DUE TO ALUMINUM MATERIALS. *TR

I BOUGHT THIS 2004 FORD F-250,6.0 DIESEL IN MAY 2010 WITH 160K MILES ON IT BECAUSE LOTS OF PEOPLE TOLD ME TO BUY A DIESEL IT WOULD GIVE ME BETTER PERFORMANCE THAN GAS. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLES EVER SINCE. IT STARTED NOT STARTING ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. THE FORD HOUSE IS NO HELP AT ALL. IVE HAD IT THERE SEVERAL TIMES AND ALL IT DONE WAS COST ME MONEY. IT HAS NEVER STOPPED RUNNING DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD LIKE THE OTHER COMPLAINTS IV'E READ. BUT IT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED 50 OR 75 TIMES, SOMETIMES IT WILL RUN PERFECT FOR MONTHS AND ALL AT ONCE IT WONT START. SHOWING NO CODES FORD SAYS THEY CANT DO A THING. IN JULY LAST SUMMER IT DID IT 1500 MILES FROM HOME ON VACATION. I HAD A WRECKER TAKE IT TO A SHOP AND $7500.00 AND 6 WEEKS LATER THEY HAD PUT A NEW ENGINE IN IT (SAID THE CAMSHAFT BROKE AND SCORED THE PISTON WALL) I CAME HOME NOW 6 MONTHS LATER ITS DOING IT AGAIN. THERE ARE ALLOT OF OTHER COMPLAINTS POSTED BUT IT LOOKS LIKE NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING TO GET AFTER FORD MOTORS TO RECALL THIS BIG EXPENSIVE PROBLEM TO CONSUMERS. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE IN 2005 PRIOR TO THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ADVISED WHETHER THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED OR THE INJECTION CONTROL PRESSURE SENSOR, BOTH OF WHICH WERE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THERE ARE SO MANY DIESELS BROKEN DOWN, MINE DID NOT GET PULLED INTO THE BAY FOR WORK UNTIL THE LAST WEEK IN OCT. IT IS STILL IN THE BAY WAITING AN ENGINE AS OF NOV. 11TH. OVER 2 MONTHS IN THE SHOP. THEY CHANGED THE OIL PRIOR TO DIAGNOSING BLOWN HEAD GASKETS AND OVER BOOSTING TURBO, SO THEY COULD NOT CONFIRM IF WATER WAS IN THE OIL PAN. DIAGNOSES WAS TO REPLACE THE HEAD BOLTS, GASKETS, EGR COOLER, REBUILD AN OVER BOOSTING TURBO, AT A COST OF ABOUT $3,000.00. AFTER THE HEADS WERE DEEMED UNUSABLE, MUCH PITTING, CORROSION OF THE HEAD WHERE THE CYLINDER IMPRINT IS LOCATED, THE COST WENT TO $7,5000. SINCE THEY FAILED TO INSPECT THE OIL FOR COOLANT, I HAD LITTLE ALTERNATIVE THAN TO REQUEST AN ENTIRE ENGINE, AT A COST OF $15,500.00. MY FORD F-250 SUPERDUTY WITH 6.0 DIESEL HAS A HARD STARTING ISSUE AND THEN THE ENGINE GO FROM LOW IDLE TO HIGH IDLE CAUSING TO HAVE TO REALLY APPLY THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM TAKING OFF. YOU CAN BE JUST GRADUALLY TAKING OFF AND THEN IT ACCELERATES WITH OUT WARNING. HAVE HAD INSTANCES WHEN SITTING AT A STOP AND THE ENGINES RPM'S JUMP CAUSING THE TRUCK TO START TAKING OFF AND IF NOT REACTING FAST ENOUGH WOULD HAVE HIT A CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I DO HAVE A ENGINE CODE IN THE VEHICLE, P2285 WHICH STATES INJECTOR CONTROL PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW. I HAVE SEEN REPORTS THAT HAVE LED TO SAFETY RECALLS DUE TO WIRING HARNESSES BEING FAULTY. OUR FAMILY WAS TRAVELING TO THE BEACH ON A VERY BUSY INTERSTATE WHEN OUR 2004 FORD F250 DIESEL, PULLING A 35 FOOT RV, STARTED RUNNING HOT. I PULLED OVER IN THE EMERGENCY LANE TO INVESTIGATE. LET THE TRUCK IDLE AND COOL FOR A BIT, RETURNED TO THE INTERSTATE TO TRY AND GET TO THE NEXT EXIT FOR A LESS DANGEROUS PLACE TO WORK ON IT. IT CONTINUED TO RUN HOT AND UPON EXITING THE INTERSTATE ON THE DOWN RAMP THE VEHICLE SHUTOFF, WITH NO POWER BRAKES TO STOP THE TRUCK AND CAMPER, I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AT THE STOP SIGN AND BLEW THROUGH IT. THANK GOODNESS NOTHING WAS COMING. TURNS OUT ALL THE WATER WAS GONE, DUE TO EITHER A BLOWN HEAD GASKET OR EGR OIL COOLER FAILURE AND THE MOTOR OVERHEATED AND RUINED. FORD WANTS TO REPLACE THE ENGINE FOR $17,500. THE TRUCK HAS 63,000 MILES ON IT AND IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS IS A KNOWN ENGINE FAILURE PROBLEM FOR FORD YET THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THE PROBLEM. IF I HAD KNOWN THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS I WOULD HAVE HAD MINE FIXED OR REPLACED PRIOR TO HAVING TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE MOTOR. I PAID $50,000 FOR A TRUCK WITH A PREMIUM TO GET A DIESEL THAT IS SUPPOSE TO LAST FOREVER, AND IT DOES NOT EVEN LAST MORE THAN 63,000 MILES. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO FACE THIS PROBLEM, AND HAVE HAD TO SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX IT. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SEARCH BLOWN HEAD GASKETS FORD F250 ON GOOGLE TO FIND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE EXTREMELY HOT EXHAUST GASES GET RECIRCULATION INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD, BUT FIRST IT HAS TO BE COOLED. WHEN THE COOLER FAILS, ALL THE WATER FROM YOUR ENGINE GOES OUT THE EXHAUST, THROUGH THE TURBO (BYE BYE TURBO), THEN YOU ARE PUMPING EXTREMELY HOT GASES BACK INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WHICH BOILS THE WATER, CREATING EXTREMELY HIGH PRESSURES, WHICH LIFTS THE HEADS AND BLOWS THE HEAD GASKETS. WHAT KIND OF STUPID DESIGN IS THAT? NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL OF THOSE DESIGN PROBLEMS? I NOW HAVE A $50,000 BOAT ANCHOR, WHICH IS NOT WORTH REPAIR. HELP PLEASE!!!!!! *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-250 SUPER DUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH WHITE SMOKE BEGAN TO COME FROM THE EXHAUST AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE AND SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE EGR(EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION SYSTEM) WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE EGR WAS BEING REPLACED BY THE DEALER WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE EGR WAS REPLACED TWICE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER NEEDED TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THE ENGINE SINCE NUMEROUS OWNERS HAS EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS PRIOR TO OR AFTER THE FAILURE. SHE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER ATTEMPTING TO JUMP START IT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THE MECHANIC THEN TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE NEEDLE BEARINGS CHEWED THROUGH THE LOW PRESSURE OIL AND THE METALLIC PIECES DISPERSED THROUGH THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 41,000.

THE EGR COOLER WAS REPLACE TWICE UNDER WARRANTY AND WITH THE TRUCK NOW OUT OF WARRANTY WITH 111,000 MILES ON IT, THE EGR COOLER WENT OUT ONCE MORE AND FORD WOULD NOT HELP ME OUT ON THE REPAIR SO I HAD TO PAY FOR IT MYSELF. THERE IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THE 2003 THROUGH 2005 6.0 DIESEL. IT HAS HAPPENED TO THOUSANDS OF OWNER. THE TURBO OUTLET HOSE, MAP SENSOR, AND EGR THROTTLE BODY WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES RECURRED ON THIRTY SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I HAVE A 2004 F 250 SUPER DUTY. I EXPERIENCED A BLOW OUT OF THE SPARK PLUG ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE FIRST I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE PLUG BACK IN AND RE-THREAD THE PLUG. IT JUST RECENTLY BLEW OUT THE SECOND TIME WHICH WILL RESULT IN A GREATER REPAIR. I HAVE A MECHANIC WHOM I REGULARLY USE AND HE HAS STATED TO ME THAT HE IS AWARE OF NO LESS THAN TWENTY FIVE FORDS THAT HE HAS PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OR HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM FIRST HAND. THIS SHOULD MOST CERTAINLY BE A RECALL. I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL FOR AN ENGINE FIRE. AT FIRST I BELIEVED THE NOISE WAS PROBABLY FROM A BLOWN EXHAUST GASKET. I WOULD HAVE NEVER IMAGINED THAT A SPARK PLUG WOULD HAVE BLOWN OUT OF MY ENGINE LET ALONE HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OR CONCERN THAT FUEL VAPOR IS BEING OPENLY SPRAYED INTO THE AIR. NOW I REALIZE THAT I ALSO PLACED MYSELF IN HARMS WAY PUTTING MYSELF UNDER THE HOOD TRYING TO LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE NOISE. WHAT IF THAT VAPOR HAD IGNITED WHILE I WAS PEEKING AROUND IN THE ENGINE? THIS IS A SERIOUS HAZARD. I DON'T CARE WHAT FORD SAYS OR WHAT SILLY EXCUSE THEY CAN MAKE FOR THIS. THERE IS SIMPLY NO REASON WHY A SPARK PLUG SHOULD BE BLOWING OUT OF AN ENGINE LIKE THIS. FOR WHATEVER INCOHERENT REASONING FORD CAN DERIVE IT IS MOST CERTAINLY IRRELEVANT. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WHAT CAUSES THIS PROBLEM? WHAT RELEVANCE DOES SPLITTING HAIRS OVER THIS HAVE? NONE BECAUSE IT IS ALL SPECULATION. THE FACT IS THAT A VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS CONDITION IS PRESENT AS A RESULT OF THIS AND THE OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE SUGGESTS IT IS A DESIGN FLAW AT THE LIABILITY OF FORD. WILL IT TAKE SOMEONE TO BE BURNED OVER 80% OF THEIR BODY TO COME TO A CONCLUSION THAT THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED? FURTHERMORE FORD HAS A POOR TRACK RECORD WITH RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED ACCORDING TO A RECALL FOR THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUT THEY REFUSED TO INSPECT OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. IF THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR, THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS ALREADY REPAIRED FOR THAT FAILURE. I HAVE A 2004 FORD F-250 WITH A TRITON 5.4 LITER ENGINE. I WENT OUT TO START THE TRUCK AND HEARD A LOUD BOOM AND THEN THE TRUCK SOUNDED LIKE I HAD LOST THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. AS IT TURNS OUT THE ENGINE PRESSURE BLEW A SPARK PLUG OUT OF THE HEAD AND ALSO BROKE THE COIL PACK ON TOP OF IT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET IT SEEMS THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM YET FORD HAS NOT OFFERED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BLAMING IT ON MANY ISSUES THAT SIMPLY DO NOT MAKE SENSE. THE GOVERNMENT TO THIS POINT HAS ALSO NOT FORCED A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE WHICH I FIND VERY DISHEARTENING AS THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. FORD SUPER DUTY TRUCKS WITH THE 6-LITER DIESEL ENGINE, GENERALLY WHILE TOWING A HEAVY TRAILER UPHILL, EXPERIENCE A HIGH RATE OF TURBO HOSES BLOWING OFF. THE VEHICLE HAS A PROBLEM IN THE MORNINGS AFTER IT HAS NOT RUN FOR SEVERAL HOURS, IT SMOKES, RUNS ROUGH, AND HAS SEVERE HESITATION. FORB HAS A TSB REGARDING THIS ISSUE BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX IT. THE SMOKING AND ROUGH RUNNING IS MERELY AN INCONVENIENCE, BUT THE HESITATION IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WILL OPERATE AT IDLE SPEEDS BUT ONCE THE THROTTLE IS DEPRESSED THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THIS CONDITION CAN LAST AS LONG AS SEVERAL MINUTES. FINALLY AT 99,987 MILES THE LOCAL DEALER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT 5 INJECTORS NEED REPLACING AND & FORD WILL REPLACE THEM AS SOON AS I PROVE WHEN EVERY OIL CHANGE WAS MADE. THEY SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED BILLS & RECEIPTS. AFTER A FEW WEEKS GATHERING OIL CHANGE INFORMATION, A SERVICE ADVISOR SUGGESTS TAKING IT TO THE SELLING DEALER, AS THEY WOULD BE MORE DISPOSED TO FIX THE TRUCK. THE OTHER SERVICE ADVISOR SAYS THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO KEEP THE WORK ORDER OPEN ANY MORE. THE SELLING DEALER COULDN'T HELP. AFTER A LENGTHY PROCESS I GET TO THE APPROPRIATE PERSON AT FORD WHO ACCEPTS MY PERSONAL NOTES ON THE OIL CHANGES. BUT SINCE THE TRUCK NOW HAS OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT, FORD WON'T DO THE WORK, EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN REPORTED SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR TO THE 100,000 MILE LIMIT. I PURCHASED A NEW 2003 F250 DIESEL HAD SO MANY OIL LEAKING PROBLEMS FORD BOUGHT THAT TRUCK BACK FROM ME AND GAVE ME A 2004 F250 DIESEL. I'VE BEEN HAVING THE SAME OIL LEAK PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK. EVERYONE I TALK TOO, IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM THAT FORD IS HAVING WITH THESE 6.0 DIESEL ENGINES. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL? THE ENGINEER FROM INTERNATIONAL (THEY BUILD THIS ENGINE FOR FORD) TOLD THE HEAD MECHANIC AT GULF BREEZE FORD TO PUT LOCK TIGHT ON THE REAR MAIN SEAL OF MY 2003 TRUCK TO STOP THE OIL LEAK. THIS SEEMS STRANGE TO ME, I THOUGHT LOCK TIGHT WAS FOR BOLTS. I HAD THE 2ND TRUCK FOR A WEEK AND TOOK IT IN AND LOCK TIGHT WAS PLACED ON THE REAR MAIN SEAL OF THIS TRUCK. IT HAS LEAKED SINCE. WAS BACK IN THE SHOP FOR THE 3RD TIME, GOT IT BACK AND IT IS STILL LEAKING. ANOTHER ENGINEER FROM INTERNATIONAL IS SCHEDULED TO LOOK AT MY 2004 TRUCK AND 4 OTHER PROBLEM TRUCKS AT GULF BREEZE FORD ON 1/24/2006. I THINK IT IS VERY SAD, I LOVE MY TRUCK- BUT I CAN'T DEAL WITH THE CONSTANT OIL LEAKS. ONLY HAVE 20K ON MY TRUCK AT THIS TIME. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS 100K PLUS MILES ON THESE TRUCKS. THANKS. *NM

ON 10-28-05 DRIVING ON 395 IN VICTORVILLE I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PROCEEDED AND AT ABOUT 30 MPH I HEARD A BANG AND WHAT SEEMED TO BE A REAL BAD EXHAUST LEAK. I WAS CLOSE TO A FORD DEALER SO I LIMPED IT OVER TO THEM. THEY TOLD ME WHAT IT WAS AND GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR IT... $4100.00. IT BLEW THE RIGHT FRONT PLUG AND COIL OUT. PLUG IS MIA. HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED YET. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING FORD TO REPAIR IT AT THEIR EXPENSE. THE TRUCK HAS 44,800 MILES ON IT AND WAS PURCHASED NEW SEPT 2004. WHETHER OR NOT FORD TAKES CARE ON MY TRUCK THERE NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL BECAUSE THIS IS A FLYING PROJECTILE PROPELLED AT AN EXTREME RATE. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY PROBLEM BECAUSE IF SOMEONE IS UNDER THE HOOD FOR WHAT EVER REASON AND ONE OF THOSE THINGS BLOWS, IT COULD BE FATAL. DT: CONSUMER HAD HAS RECALL WORK DONE ON 2004 FORD F250 SUPER DUTY. THE FIRST RECALL WAS IN APRIL ON THE TURBO BRACKET. DEALERSHIP PUT THE BRACKET ON THE TURBO CHARGER ON THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. DEALERSHIP DID NOT TIGHTEN THE HOSE BACK, AND ALL THE OIL LEAKED OUT. THE SECOND RECALL WAS ON THE REAR PLANETARY THAT WAS MANDATORY RECALL. THE DEALER TRIED TO FIX THIS, BUT THE OWNER WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE REPAIR WORK. HE SAID THAT THE VEHICLE VIBRATED TO BADLY. THE NEXT RECALL WAS THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE, THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, AND CURRENTLY THE TRUCK WAS DYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AFTER IT WARMED UP. CONSUMER TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE HE ORIGINALLY BOUGHT THE TRUCK, AND THEY COULD NOT WORK ON THE TRUCK BECAUSE CONSUMER HAD WORK DONE SOMEWHERE ELSE. CONSUMER TALKED TO A REGIONAL MANAGER, WHO SAID THAT THE TRUCK WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. THE TRUCK COULD SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND WILL START BACK UP.. CONSUMER COULD NOT HAVE ANYONE ELSE WORK ON THE TRUCK, OR FORD WILL VOID THE WARRANTY FOR ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES ON THE ENGINE AND COMPONENTS AND 36,000 MILES ON THE DRIVE TRAIN. CONSUMER WANTED TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE RECALL WAS WITH THE CONSUMERS LAWYER. THE CONSUMER DOES HAVE PENDING LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD. *AK

DT: WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK SHUT OFF AND JUST COMPLETELY DIED. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE WERE NO BRAKES AND NO POWER STEERING. AS A RESULT THE TRUCK VEERED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ONCE THE VEHICLE STOPPED THE DRIVER HAD TO RESTART THE TRUCK. THE KEY HAD TO BE TURNED BACK TO NEUTRAL ,THEN TRY TO RESTART. THE TRUCK WAS JUST AT THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK BEFORE THIS HAPPENED FOR A BLOWN RADIATOR HOSE. FORD HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS INCIDENT, BUT WILL NOT RETURN THE CONSUMER'S PHONE CALL. WE PURCHASED A 2004 F250 TURBO DIESEL FROM MIKE BROWN FORD ON MAY 29, 2004 AND THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN. THE FIRST PROBLEM THE DEALERSHIP WIRED THE KEYLESS ENTRY INCORRECTLY AND HAD TO REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESS. AFTER THAT THE TRUCK BEGAN TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH SURGING,AND DYING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP NUMEROUS TIMES, THEY HAVE REPLACED THE COMPUTER 9 TIMES, EXCHANGED THE EGR VALUES TWICE, THEY HAVE SLIPPED THE TORQUE CONVERTER, AND ALL TYPES OF REPROGRAMMED ON THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS ON THIS VEHICLE.. TO DATE THE TRUCK RUNS EXTREMELY BAD. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE, AND IS EXTREMELY SCARED OF THIS TRUCK, DO TO THE FACT THAT IT SURGES AND LOSES VACUUM AND SHOVES HER INTO INTERSECTIONS AT RED LIGHTS OR ANY OTHER TIMES SHE APPLIES THE BRAKES. THE VARIOUS FORD DEALERSHIPS ARE NO HELP THEY CONSTANTLY REPROGRAM AND RELEASE THE VEHICLE . NO MORE OR LESS THAN 5000 MILES THE VEHICLE STARTS IT AGAIN. WE BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE, SEEING HOW YOU NEVER NO WHEN IT WILL DIE, OR SURGE . ONCE THEY GO OFF, IT WILL RUN AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT OCCURRENCE. I HAVE HAD THE COMPLETE FICM HARNESS (IT RAN FINE FOR TWO WEEKS AFTER THE REPLACEMENT) REPLACED BY THE DEALER.IIT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOUR TIMES NOW FOR A TOTAL OF 10 DAYS FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT ONLY HAS 7000 MILES. *AK

WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. AS RESULT THE VEHICLE LOSS OF STEERING, AND THE BRAKES. THE DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN, INDICATED TO THE CONSUMER SORRY WE CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM.
