DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY , COMPLETE LOSS OF THROTTLE BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AT A LOW AMPERAGE. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED IT OFF. IT WOULDN'T START BACK UP RIGHT AWAY. HAD TO WAIT A WHILE IT WOULD START AND LIMPED IT HOME. NO PROBLEMS FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. A COUPLE TIMES IT WOULD START, BUT AT A LOW IDLE WITH NO RESPONSE OF THE GAS PEDDLE. THE FINAL STRAW WAS LAST WEEK. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO WORK. EACH TIME I CAME TO A STOP, IT WOULD LOSE THROTTLE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON TO GET GOING. THEN AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION OF HWY 41 AND 145, IT WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON AND I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HWY. I HAD TO PUSH IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND IT WOULD TURN BUT NOT START. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC ON SATURDAY AND MONDAY WHEN THEY GOT TO IT, AFTER CHARGING THE BATTERIES, IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO FAIL...WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THERE IS NO OIL PRESSURE ON THE GAUGE. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS OR DEADLY. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN INJURED OR KILLED IF I HAD BEEN HIT.

NO ACCELERATION WHEN THROTTLE PUSHED. MY 2004 FORD F-250 HAS A SITUATION WHERE I CAN BE SETTING AT A INTERSECTION GETTING READY TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC, AND WHEN I PRESS DOWN ON THE THROTTLE, NOTHING HAPPENS LEAVING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE TRUCK IDLES PULLING ME INTO TRAFFIC, NO ACCELERATION HAPPENS AT ALL. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. THERE IS NO WAY TO PREDICT WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-250 SUPER DUTY. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 10 MPH, THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED, RESULTING IN A CRASH. THE POLICE DID NOT APPEAR ON THE SCENE AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A MALFUNCTION IN THE VEHICLES COMPUTER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 63,000.

CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE WILL BE A CONGRESSIONAL HEARING AGAINST FORD MOTOR CORPORATION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED DURING THE SUMMER OF 2006, A SURGING ISSUE STARTED WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THE DEALER REPLACED NUMEROUS SENSORS, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.*JB

THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A MECHANIC OR DEALER AT THIS TIME. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 92,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE FIRST TWO TIMES, THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE THIRD TIME, AN UNKNOWN PART WAS REPLACED. THE FOURTH TIME, THE COMPUTER WAS REPROGRAMMED, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED.

MY 2004 FORD 250 4 X 4 IS SURGING (TAKING OFF) WHEN I AM NOT ACCELERATING THE ENGINE. IT DOES THIS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TRIED SEVERAL FIXES AND EVEN CALLED THEIR OWN HOTLINE. NOTHING IS WORKING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM AT TIMES SITTING A RED SIGNAL LIGHT ANT THE TRUCK WANTS TO TAKE OFF. MY FOOT WAS FIRMLY SUPPRESSED UPON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I TRAVEL DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET, GOING AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 25 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR, AND MY TRUCK SURGES FORWARD AS THOUGH I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. I DID NOT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. I CAN BE GOING SPEEDS BETWEEN 25 AND 75 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY, WHETHER IN STOP AND GO OR CONTINUOUS SPEED, AND THE TRUCK SURGES WITHOUT THE COMMAND OF MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE RPM NEEDLE JUMPS SUDDENLY AS WELL WHEN THIS OCCURS. IF I AM REPEATING MYSELF, IT IS BECAUSE I AM VERY CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY AS WELL AS ANY PASSENGERS AND THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD WITH ME WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS. I HAVE GONE TO VARIOUS WEBSITE FORUMS AND I AM SEEING OTHER OWNERS COMPLAIN OF THE SAME THING, BUT FORD IS NOT FIXING THE SAFETY ISSUE. *NM

DT: 2004 FORD F250 SUPER DUTY. THE CONSUMER STATED TWO MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IT STARTED SURGING. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP SIX TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP REPROGRAMMED THE EBB SENSOR PROGRAM TWICE. ALSO, REPLACED PRESS CHECK, AND THEN REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTED CONTROL. THE LAST TIME THE DEALERSHIP WANTED TO PUT A BLACK BOX ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THE CONSUMER DID NOT FEEL THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE ENOUGH TO DRIVE. THE LAST TIME THEY DID RECALL REPAIRS ON WIRING HARNESS. THE CONSUMER WAS PULLING INTO A DOCTORS OFFICE AND THE VEHICLE SURGED OVER TWO CURBS. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE PUT IN PARK. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED A SEVERE CONCUSSION. SHE HAD TO SEE A NEUROLOGIST FOR TWO MONTHS. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON JULY 13, 2004. THE SURGING HAD NO CONSISTENCY. VEHICLE WILL SURGE AT A STOP LIGHT OR WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. *AK UPDATED 12/7/2005. THIS IS SECOND INSTANCE OF THIS HAPPENING. STEVE MARSH FORD DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF THE TURBO REVVING UP AND HAD WORKED ON THIS MULTIPLE TIMES PRIOR TO THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. 2004 FORD F250 DIESEL TRUCK DOES NOT HAVE POWER TO ACCELERATE IN THE MORNINGS. I CAN NOT PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC WITH ANY CONFIDENCE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE HIT. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TAKEN SEVERAL TIMES TO FORD DEALERSHIPS AND THEY SAY THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS MANY OTHER PROBLEMS BUT IF THE COMPUTER CAN'T FIND THEM, THEY DO NOT EXIST AND THEY WILL NOT FIX IT. I.E. TURBO BEING BLOWN, FUEL MILEAGE BECOMING LESS AND LESS ETC. *JB

DT; EVER SINCE CONSUMER BOUGHT FORD F250 IT JERKS OR BUCKS FORWARD WHEN AT A STOP OR DRIVING SLOW. DEALER BASICALLY SAY IF THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IT IS HARD FOR THEM TO FIX IT. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. IT MAY DO THIS AND STOP THEN IT WILL BEGIN AGAIN. THE MOST RECENT EPISODE WAS LAST WEEK. CONSUMER CALLED SERVICE DEPT AS IT WAS HAPPENING, AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN AND THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. ACTUALLY HAD TO PUT IN NEUTRAL FOR SAFETY BECAUSE IT DOES THIS AS IF THE VEHICLE WERE STALLING AND LURCHES FORWARD EVEN WITH FOOT ON BRAKE. *TT
