BOUGHT VEHICLE USED IN NOV,2011. ABOUT 4 MONTHS LATER STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE POWER. WAS TOLD BY FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM WOULD NEED TO REBUILD ENGINE, SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY (INVOLVED EGR, GASKETS AND BENT HEAD BOLTS). CALL FORD EXTENDED WARRANTY PEOPLE. REFUSED TO PAY ANYTHING. NOW TRUCK HAS ABOUT 96000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRUCK IS STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN, WAS TOLD THAT THE INJECTORS ARE THE PROBLEM NOW. DECIDED TO CHECK OUT RECALLS ON THIS VEH. AND FOUND OUT SEVERAL THINGS (1) THAT FORD HAD A RECALL FOR THE INJECTORS AND (2) THAT THE PROBLEMS BEFORE WERE PROBABLY CAUSED BY THIS. CALLED THE RECALL CENTER AT FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT VIN # DID NOT MATCH UP TO ANY RECALLS, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ON 180000 05 FORD F250 SD. WAS ALSO TOLD TO CHECK WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT IS ALSO THROUGH FORD. ONCE THIS IS FIXED WILL HAVE MORE MONEY INVESTED IN THIS AND REBUILDING ENGINE 6 MONTHS AGO THAN THE TRUCK IS WORTH. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AT APPROX. 65MPH ENGINE WENT INTO IDLE MODE WITHOUT ANY WARNING. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID OTHER VEHICLES ON THE INTERSTATE AND COASTED TO A STOP . THE ENGINE REMAINED IN IDLE MODE AND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS PRESSED THE ENGINE DID NOT INCREASE IN RPMS. I TURNED THE OFF THE ENGINE AND WHEN TRYING TO RESTART IN TURNED OVER, BUT WOULD NOT FIRE UP. AFTER A COUPLE OF TRIES IT FINALLY STARTED AND I DROVE HOME. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED ON DEC.26TH 2011. THE TRUCK WAS DRIVEN TO THE STORE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS AFTER RETURNING AND TRYING TO START IT UP THE ENGINE WOULD NOT FIRE. FINALLY AFTER A COUPLE OF TRIES IT FINALLY STARTED AND I DROVE APPROX. TWO MILES , PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND IT WENT INTO IDLE MODE AGAIN. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF BUT IT WILL NOW NOT RESTART. I WILL HAVE TO GET IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP, THIS COULD HAVE HAD VERY SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES . THE INTERSTATE TRAFFIC WAS LITE AND I WAS ABLE TO SWITCH LANES EVEN THOUGH I WAS COASTING WITHOUT POWER WITH THE ENGINE IDLING. A COUPLE OF VEHICLES HAD TO HIT THE BRAKES AS I MOVED OVER. IF I HAD COME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE WITHOUT POWER IT COULD HAVE EASILY RESULTED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. WITH THE POTENTIAL LOSS OF LIFE OR SERIOUS INJURY. *TR

THIS HAS OCCURED ONCE AGAIN WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AND KNOW IS REOCCURING AGAIN BUT THIS TIME IT IS WORSE. THE VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED AT OWNERS EXPENSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 103000.

I OWN ON 2005 F-250 SUPERDUTY DIESEL 6.0 TRUCK, AND I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH AN APPROX. SPEED OF 45, AND MY VEHICLE STALLS FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS, I STARTED TO PANIC AND THEN, IT STARTED RUNNING AGAIN AFTER BLOWING A BIG PUFF OF BLACK SMOKE. I TRAVELED ON AND EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE OKAY, WELL I CONTINUE ON TO GET ON THE BELTLINE, APPROX SPEED 65, AND IT DID IT AGAIN, IT STALLED FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS AND THE STARTED WITH A BIG BLACK CLOUD OF SMOKE., I COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE, I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CARS ALL AROUND ME AND IT STALLED, I HAD NO WHERE TO GO. THEY WERE SLAMMING ON BRAKES AND BLOWING HORNS, I COULD HAVE CAUSED A HUGE ACCIDENT. I WAS SO NERVOUS, SO I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP; THE PARTS DEPARTMENT SAID THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON ANYTHING. SOMETHING IS WRONG, SO I CAME ON HOME, GOT ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL AND IT IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED. IT COULD HAVE BEEN DEVASTATING. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS HURT, THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESS IMMEDIATELY. PLEASE HELP ME NOTIFY THAT THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM, AND THEY NEED TO LET AMERICANS KNOW. *TR

I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. IN SEPT. 2005 I LEASED A F250 AND SINCE IT HAS GIVEN ME NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. EXHAUST PROBLEMS (3 TIMES FOR THAT) INJECTOR FAILED, MANY LITTLE BUGS THAT THE DEALER CANT FIX. ON 6-24-06 ON I-94 DOING A 65-68 MPH, THE ENGINE HESITATES FOR A SECOND THEN SUDDENLY THE WHEELS LOCKED UP AND I LOST CONTROL, SKIDDING ALMOST HITTING 3 OTHER CARS AND THE WALL ON THE SHOULDER. FINALLY AFTER STEERING TO THE SHOULDER - STOPPED AND BASICALLY HAD A PANIC ATTACK, SAW MY LIFE FLASH BEFORE MY EYES. SAT FOR A COUPLE MINUTES THEN GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE WHEELS AND UNDER THE TRUCK FOR ANY CLUES AS TO WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. I START UP AND STROLL ALONG THE SHOULDER TO THE NEAREST EXIT THE TOW / HAUL LIGHT IS FLASHING ON AND OFF. DRIVE ABOUT 30 MPH ON A CITY ROAD WITH MY FLASHERS ON.. NOT BUT A 1/8 OF A MILE IT LOCKS UP AGAIN AND THEN FREES UP, AND ROLLS. I AM NOW FREAKING OUT. AND NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON . CALLED FORD ROADSIDE I AM A WRECK! I'LL NEVER PUT MY 4 MONTH DAUGHTER IN IT. FIRST DIAGNOSIS 3 DAYS LATER AFTER THE LOCK UP HAPPENED TO THE MECHANIC TEST DRIVING THE TRUCK THEY GUESS THE RANGE SENSOR IN THE TRANSMISSION AND TWO DAYS LATER CALLED TO TELL ME IT WAS READY. 1 HOUR LATER THE SERVICE TECH CALLED ,SAID WE NEED TO KEEP IT LONGER 2 WKS LATER THEY DIAGNOSE THAT A MAIN WIRING HARNESS WAS LEANING AGAINST THE EXHAUST AND BURNED UP SHORTING THE COMPUTER & TOLD THE TRANS TO SHIFT. I TOLD THEM I DO NOT WANT THE TRUCK. I DON'T FEEL SAFE AND WON'T RISK MY LIFE OR MY FAMILY. FORD LEGAL FINALLY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AFTER MANY CONTACTS TO THEM AND UPON THEIR DECISION 3 WKS AFTER THEY TOWED IT I MUST ACCEPT THIS VEHICLE, BECAUSE IT IS "SUPPOSEDLY" FIXED. I FEEL THAT FORD IS NOT TAKING THIS CASE SERIOUSLY, AND I WONT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS TRUCK AGAIN. MY SERVICE DIRECTOR AMONG MANY OF THE SERVICE AGENTS AT THE DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS THE FORD FACTORY REP. SAY THAT THEY WOULD NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IN THIS TRUCK IF IT WERE THEIR TRUCK, AND WOULD NOT DRIVE IT. *JB
