WHILE ON VACATION TOWING MY 31' 10,000 POUND TRAVEL TRAILER AT 60 MPH HEADING NORTH ON HWY 89 ARIZONA IN EARLY MAY 2019 I EXPERIENCED A VIOLENT SCARY WOBBLE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND ENTIRE VEHICLE IN WHICH I ALMOST LOST CONTROL. I WAS ABLE TO KEEP CONTROL AND SLOW DOWN TO 33 MPH TO GET THE WOBBLE TO STOP. WE WERE HALF WAY THROUGH OUR TRIP SO I KEPT THE SPEED AT 55 MPH OR LOWER TO GET HOME. I SINCE THEN RESEARCHED AND FOUND A FORD TSB CONCERNING THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE TRUCK IN FOR A POSSIBLE REPAIR YET AS WE ONLY USE IT TO TOW WITH.

TSB # 18-2268 AT 60 MPH ON A SMOOTH FLAT HIGHWAY AND AFTER CROSSING A BRIDGE EXPANSION JOINT THE TRUCK STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK SO VIOLENTLY IT WAS DIFFICULT TO HOLD ONTO IT. ONCE THE VEHICLE SLOWED TO UNDER 30 MPH THE SHAKING STOPPED. BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC I WAS NOT ABLE TO CHANGE LANES AND GOING FROM 60 MPH TO 30 MPH IN THE LEFT LANE (FAST LANE) WAS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS WITH A TRACTOR TRAILER BEARING DOWN ON ME BLOWING MADLY AS HE TRIED TO SLOW HIS TRUCK DOWN FROM REAR ENDING ME. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ARE LOOKING AT IT ON 06/04/2019 @ CIOCCA FORD IN QUAKERTOWN

VEHICLE STARTED DOING THIS AROUND 15K MILES. EVERYTHING IS FACTORY PARTS HAVE NOT INSTALLED ANY AFTERMARKET TIRES OR WHEELS. SCARED TO DRIVE OVER 55MPH

PROBLEM APPEARED TO BE SOMEWHAT LESS NOTICEABLE. NOW AT 10K MILES THE DW IS PREVALENT IN EVERYDAY DRIVING AND MAKES THE VEHICLE VERY SCARY TO DRIVE. ALMOST TOTAL CONTROL IS LOST FOR SEVERAL SECONDS UNTIL YOU BRAKE HOPING NOT TO GET REAR ENDED WHILE REGAINING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. ITS BAD ENOUGH TO SPEND $60K ON A TRUCK THAT DEVELOPED THIS TYPE OF ISSUE AT 7K MILES BUT AT 10K MILES IT'S NOT EVEN ABOUT MONEY, THIS COULD KILL SOMEONE. FORD HAS LISTED A TSB ON THIS ISSUE THAT I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING INTO BUT I'VE SEEN NO CONFIRMATION THAT THIS FIXED THE ISSUE, APPEARS TO BE MORE OF A BANDAGE. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP.

THE TIRES ON THE TRUCK ARE GOODYEAR WRANGLER KEVLAR TIRES THAT CAME ON THE TRUCK FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND NOW HAVE ONLY 20,000 MILES AND ARE NOWHERE NEAR WORN OUT! IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT SLOWER SPEEDS (AROUND 45 MPH) IN THE CITY, BUT MOSTLY OCCURS AROUND 60-70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY.
