The tie rod broke while the vehicle was in motion. This caused the vehicle to lose control and crash into another vehicle, causing damage to both vehicles. There was no warning and no sign of any issues. Vehicle has been very well maintained, in fact, it has been in the shop at least once per month for the past year due to a number of mechanical issues unrelated to the tie rod.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. RECENTLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER EXPERIENCING THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HIS HOME WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL LINES WERE SEVERELY CORRODED AND WERE LEAKING. AS A RESULT, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO USE EXCESSIVE FORCE IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. FORD F SERIES AND SUPER DUTY PICKUPS WITH 5.4 ENGINES. MY 2004 FORD F-250 HAS AN ISSUE WITH LEAKING EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. WHEN LOOKING INTO THIS FURTHER WHILE GETTING PRICING, I FOUND OUT THAT THIS WAS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE AND THAT IT WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE DUE TO A MISTAKE IN MATERIAL USED FOR THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS. SO COMMON THAT AFTERMARKET SUPPLIERS ARE MAKING REPLACEMENT KITS FOR THE PROBLEM. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ATTACHING STUDS WERE MADE OUT OF A METAL THAT QUICKLY RUSTS OUT CAUSING THE FAILURE. AFTER THE FAILURE, I BEGAN TO NOTICE EXHAUST GASES ENTERING THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE CLIMATE CONTROL, WHICH ITS FRESH AIR INTAKE IS IN THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. I ALSO QUESTION THE EMISSIONS STANDARDS BECAUSE OF THE EXHAUST LEAK NOT TO MENTION THE POTENTIAL FIRE RISK FROM HEATED GASES AND FLAMES ENTERING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. *TR

2004 FORD F250. CONSUMER STATES FAULTY ICP SENSOR OR FAULTY EGR VALVE *TGW THE REVERSE PLANET GEAR IN THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THE EGR VALVE REPLACED THREE TIMES, THE EGR COOLER, OIL COOLER WERE ALL REPLACED. THE R&R TURBO INTAKE WAS REPLACED TWICE, THE TURBO INNER COOLER, WIRING HARNESS ON THE ENGINE, TRANSFER CASE, FICM MODULE WERE REPLACED. THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES, THE VALVE ASSEMBLY, HIGH PRESSURE AND REGULAR OIL PUMPS WERE REPLACED AND A NEW EGR SHIELD WAS INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. *JB

CRUISE STALLED - GOING DOWN HILL AT APPROX 55-58 THE TRUCK WILL STALL WITHOUT WARNING. NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. REPRODUCABLE ON DEMAND. 2. DOWNSHIFT LOCKUP - TRUCK WILL LOCKUP REAR TIRES IN EXCESS OF 30 FEET IF TOW/HAUL MODE IS USED.
