wHEN TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW FREEZING MOISTURE GET IN DOOR PANELS AND FREEZES THE LOCKING SYSTEM SO THAT THE DOES WILL NOT STAY CLOSED, MAKING MY TRUCK UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIME WHEN ON THE ROAD WAS AFRAID FOR PASSENGER AND ANIMALS IN THE TRUCK.

Frozen door locks and latches. Door freezes in cold temperatures and when the door is opened the door locks freeze in the open position not allowing the doors to close and latch properly or at all.

Recently I was leaving my neighborhood to take my kids to school. I used the remote start and noticed that the doors were not unlocking properly with the exception of the drivers side door. I opened the passenger door from the inside for my child to get into the truck. As we were about to depart the neighborhood for a busy main street, I noticed the door ajar light on the dash was on. I told my son to go ahead and close his door again. When he attempted to open and re-close the door we notice it was not fully latched and then the door would then not close at all as the latch was not functioning properly. I had to turn around and drive very slowly back to my house with my son holding the door closed. This was so incredibly unsafe and I'm thankful I was still in my neighborhood when it happened and not stopping for gas on the interstate or traveling long distances for work. I immediately looked on the Ford website for recalls and contacted the local Ford dealership. There are no recalls at this time. However, there are two Customer Satisfaction Recalls for the door latch and the door lock actuators. (Campaign #18N03 and 20M04). I brought my truck to this dealership for repairs as it is not safe to drive and will in no way pass the state inspection that is due on it. The maintenance shop called me around 24 hours later and stated that the door latch stopped functioning and wiring for the door locks was damaged somehow (unknown how, no damage to my vehicle has ever occurred) but they weren't tied to any recalls or safety programs. This was extremely unsettling to me as the two Satisfaction programs mention this parts specifically. So, unfortunately I am forced to pay a significant amount of money to the Ford dealership for repairs that sound A LOT like problems they are aware of. The receptionist also stated that she had heard of similar issues with these trucks.

DEATH WOBBLE : First time it happened. We were pulling a trailer; we had to come to a complete stop. We called the dealer that we bought the F-250 with a gas engine from; they did work on it that ended up costing us additional money. When the dealer fixed it supposedly it was under warranty. Now it is doing it again; so the warranty didn't fix it.This truck has around 15,000 miles on it now. Our son-in law was driving it about a month ago ; he hit a bump and it did it again. He had to slow way down or stop for it to quit the wobble. He had our grandkids with him. Ford needs to address this problem.

Front end shakes violently if I hit a bump. Has happened numerous times usually above 50 mph. Only 21,000 thousand miles on vehicle and tires are in fair shape. Was told by a mechanic that it was a common problem on Ford 250 and advised to report the problem. Requires slowing down dramatically to allow to correct.

My truck is actually in f250. The door actuator due to the cold which has been an issue on this truck has frozen again. The first time my child almost fell out of the truck 2 years ago due to door lock / actuator. I had taken it back for the recall said recall. On Friday when it was -37° wind chill the actuator locked me out of my running truck which almost caused me to get frostbite on my fingers

I was driving on interstate and hit bump on a bridge and the front of the truck began to shake violently. I could not steer truck. I applied the brakes and it got worse. I got the truck below 40mph and the shaking stopped. My safety and others were at risk because I couldn’t steer the truck. I took the truck to an alignment and front end shop and they told me that this was common in the Ford F250 called a death wobble. I am currently trying to-get to ford dealer. I will not be driving the truck after researching the problem ford has with this vehicle. It is a life threatening event when this happens. I bought the truck from a friend and contacted him after the event happened and he said it happened to him he took to ford dealer and they fixed in 2020 and it didnt happen again. He said the replaced a damper on truck. Truck only has 24000 miles so these things shouldnt be happening.

FORD 2017 F250 - Fuel system completely collapsed, with NO WARNING truck completely went powerless doing 70 MPH on the highway with my son in the back of the truck. Luckily I had the mind to pull over safely. What if I was towing a load or similar on mountain roads. Ford said they found rust and debris in the fuel system, they would not cover it under Premium Ford warranty. Safeco/Liberty Mutual stated they tested the fuel and was fine. No coverage either on Auto Insurance. Total cost was $13,500 to repair the system on which I had full warranty and full insurance coverage. Ford did help with a $4000 Customer retention help fund. I am reporting in hopes to save lives, if I I wasn't aware at the time of the complete power failure things could have been significantly worse. I was completely unimpressed with both Ford/Liberty Mutual on the handling of the SCARY situation. I send a personal letter to the FORD CEO and got nothing. I believe FORD is hiding on this issue with BAD FUEL pumps (CP4 version) and trying to blame owners or bad fuel systems.

When this occurs, the steering wheel and entire vehicle wobbles/shakes and the only way to stop it is to quickly reduce speed. The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving approximately 60-65 MPH, the steering wheel and vehicle were shaking uncontrollably. The contact lost control of the vehicle and drove over the jersey wall. The check engine warning light was illuminated. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed to a collision repair facility. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

After hitting a bump or bridge on the highway, the vehicle shakes dangerously and uncontrollably. It has happened since I bought it but I could control it by slowing down significantly. It got worse over time. It has steered me out of my driving lane. I took it to the Ford dealership for inspection and repair. About 6 months later it started happening again. It is currently very severe. Today was the latest occurrence.

I AM EXPERIENCING WHAT PEOPLE REFER TO AS 'THE DEATH WOBBLE'. IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 4 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK IN DECEMBER 2020. ALL 4 INSTANCES WERE THE SAME.... GOING AROUND MAYBE 48MPH ON A CITY STREET WITH UNEVEN PAVEMENT/SMALL HOLES THE TRUCK BEGINS TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. I MEAN, THE WHOLE TRUCK WILL VICIOUSLY SHAKE AND GIVE THE DRIVER NO CONTROL UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 25MPH. WHEN IT SHAKES YOU HAVE TO HOLD ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL TIGHT AND JUST TRY YOUR BEST TO STAY IN YOUR LANE. IT'S SO DANGEROUS AND SCARY! THERE ARE TONS OF VIDEOS OF OTHER FORDS ONLINE DOING EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS TO ME IN MY TRUCK. I BELIEVE IT IS AN ISSUE WITH 2017+ FORD F-250 AND F-350'S BUT THERE IS NO CURRENT RECALL. SOMETHING WITH THESE YEAR MODELS SUSPENSION IS NOT CORRECT. THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM IS GOING TO REPLACE THE DAMPENERS, BUT FROM WHAT I HAVE READ FROM EVERYONE WITH THIS ISSUE, IT IS A TEMPORARY FIX AND THE WOBBLE RETURNS AFTER A FEW MONTHS. THERE IS A FORD INSTALLED 6IN LIFT AND 37IN TIRES ON THE TRUCK(HAD THIS WHEN I PURCHASED) BUT FROM INVESTIGATING THIS ISSUE IS NOT RELATED TO THAT.

THIS SAME OCCURRENCE HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. YESTERDAY JAN. 16, 2021 I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE GOING STRAIGHT AT AROUND 70 MPH AND HIT AN UNEVEN PART OF THE ROAD AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS JERKING OUT OF CONTROL, THE WHOLE TRUCK WAS SHAKING TERRIBLE. YOU COULD EVEN SEE LIGHT THRU THE DOOR JAMB OF THE CHASSIS. FINALLY AFTER SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES IT STOPPED SHAKING AT 30 MPH I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS TRUCK!! I PURCHASED IT NEW AND SPENT OVER $75,000. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL FORD CUSTOMER BUT NOW I'M SCARED TO PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM FORD AGAIN .

A/C CONDENSER DAMAGED BY ROAD DEBRIS PER LOCAL FORD DEALER AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $995.00. THE GRILLE HAS LARGE HOLES IN IT THAT I CAN PUT MY HAND AND FOREARM THROUGH ON EACH SIDE OF THE FORD EMBLEM WHICH IS ALLOWING ROAD DEBRIS TO DAMAGE THE RADIATORS. THE LOCAL FORD DEALER SAID THEY HAD OTHER FORD F-250'S COME IN WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND ALSO ANOTHER ONE WHERE A BIRD WENT THROUGH ONE OF THESE LARGE HOLES AND TOOK OUT ANOTHER GUYS RADIATOR. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT / ERROR THAT WAS POORLY DESIGNED AND END UP COSTING THE CONSUMER ALOT OF MONEY TO FIX. THE FORD DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT WHEN I GET IT FIXED I NEED TO PUT A METAL SCREEN BEHIND THE GRILLE OR IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I HAVE 63,000 MILES ON MY PICKUP NOW AND HAVE OWN CHEVY PICKUPS WITH OVER 100,000 MILES AND NEVER HAD ROAD DEBRIS DAMAGE A A/C CONDENSER OR A RADIATOR.

DUE TO THIS I WAS INCHES AWAY FROM HITTING THE CENTER BARRIER ON A FREEWAY AFTER NEARLY LOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE COMPLETLY. I HAD TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO A SMALL VIBRATION AND THEY REPLACED THE STEERING DAMPENER ON THE WARRANTY AND OUT OF MY POCKET THE STEERING DRAG LINK AND IT HELPED BUT WAS STILL GETTING A VIBRATION AND NO MORE THAN A WEEK LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED ALMOST TOOK ME OUT OF THE ROAD. IM NOT AURE WHAT IS CAUSING THIS BUT IT HAS TO GET CORRECTED.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED VIOLENT SHACKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND ENTIRE TRUCK. I HAD THIS ISSUE PRESENT ITSELF OVER 6 TIMES SINCE PURCHASING IT IN SEPT. 2016. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK BRAND NEW FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP. FIRST AND SECOND INSTANCE WERE IN LATE 2017WITH LESS APPROXIMATELY 18K MILES. ALL INSTANCES HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT 60 MPH OR HIGHER. THE STEERING WHEEL STARTS TO SHAKE AND THEN CONTINUES TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND THE ENTIRE CAB IS SHAKING. LOSE OF STEERING CONTROL. ONLY STOPPED AFTER FORCIBLY SLOWING DOWN TRUCK TO BELOW 25 MILE PER HOUR CAUSING POSSIBLE COLLISION WITH OTHER VEHICLES OR BARRIERS. HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP AFTER THE SECOND INSTANCE AND THEY SAY FORD IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE ISSUE AND COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. IN MAY OF 2020, THE DEALER DID ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEIR WAS AN ISSUE AND THEY REPLACED STEERING DAMPER UNDER WARRANTY BUT AFTER 4 MONTHS THE ISSUE CAME BACK MORE VIOLENTLY THAN BEFORE. ON OCT. 28TH, 2020, IT OCCURRED 4 TIMES WHILE DRIVING WITHIN A 40 MILE DISTANCE. THIS TIME THE TRUCK SHOULD SO VIOLENTLY I HAD TO ALMOST COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE INTERSTATE TO MAKE IT STOP SHACKING. ROAD WERE WET AND AND IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I DO NOT FEEL THAT IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE TRUCK ANYMORE WHILE THIS ISSUE PRESENT. I HAVE RE-CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND MENTIONED THE ISSUE AND SERVICE THEY PERFORMED BACK IN MAY, THEY DID NOT RETURN CALL FOR ASSISTANCE.

THIS HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AFTER YOU HIT BUMPS. THIS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE ON OUR TRIP BACK FROM FLORIDA TO WISCONSIN. I HAD A 5TH WHEEL CAMPER ATTACHED TO THE TRUCK WHEN THIS HAPPENED, SO I WAS EVEN MORE AFRAID OF LOSING CONTROL WITH THAT AMOUNT OF TRAILER IN TOW.

AT 71 MPH WHILE THE TRUCK WAS ON CRUISE CONTROL GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, I WENT OVER A BRIDGE AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE LIKE IT WAS COMING APART. THE TRUCK'S BACK END STARTED TO COME AROUND ON ME LIKE IT WAS SKIDDING AND WENT BACK AND FORTH A COUPLE TIMES. THE ROAD WAS COMPLETELY STRAIGHT AND DRY SO THERE SHOULDN'T BE ANY REASON THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED EITHER. CARS ON BOTH SIDES OF ME WENT TO THE SHOULDER AND DITCH TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. I SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 30 MPH AND THE SHAKING STOPPED. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY INSTANTLY KNEW WHAT I WAS DESCRIBING AND CALL IT THE FORD DEATH WOBBLE. THE TRUCK HAS 15,500 MILES ON IT WITH ORIGINAL TIRES, NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR ANY OTHER REASON TO DO THIS. VERY SCARY AND I WON'T LET THE FAMILY IN IT NOW. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT WILL MOST LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN AS THEY HAVE TRUCKS COME BACK OVER AND OVER TRYING TO FIX IT BUT THERE ISN'T A LEGITIMATE FIX FROM FORD.

THERE IS A TECHNICAL BULLETIN FROM FORD ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT IT IS NOT A RECALL. SOMEONE IS LIKELY GOING TO DIE FOR WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN AND/OR MANUFACTURING DEFECT. OVER THE PAST 5 MONTHS (IT IS NOW 1/30/2020) THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, TYPICALLY HIGHWAY SPEEDS, RANGING ANYWHERE FROM 50-80 MPH. ALTHOUGH, IT HAS HAPPENED AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 40-45. IT HAPPENS OUT OF NOWHERE WITH NO APPARENT PROVOCATION, I.E., HITTING A POTHOLE, TURNING, HITTING THE BRAKES, ETC. IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND NOTHING SEEMS TO MAKE IT STOP. I'VE TRIED HITTING THE BRAKES, SLAMMING THE BRAKES, CONTINUING TO HOLD MY SPEED STEADY, ACCELERATING SLIGHTLY, AND PRAYING TO GOD TO MAKE IT STOP. NOTHING WORKS, IT JUST EVENTUALLY STOPS BUT NOT BEFORE TRAFFIC CLEARS ALL AROUND ME. IT IS NOTICEABLE FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE AS I HAVE SEEN DRIVERS HIT THE BRAKES AND FALL BACK IN TRAFFIC AROUND ME. THE VIOLENT SHAKING MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STEADY OR IN MY LANE OF TRAFFIC. THE VIOLENT SHAKING MAKES THE VEHICLE BOUNCE ALL OVER THE ROAD. IT MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL STEADY OR STRAIGHT. IT IS TERRIFYING AND UNNERVING. I BELIEVE IT IS GOING TO KILL ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. I HAUL TRAILERS WITH HEAVY EQUIPMENT ALMOST DAILY. MANY TIMES I AM ON THE HIGHWAY OR ON CITY STREETS. WHILE GOING 70 MPH AFTER CROSSING A SMALL OVER PASS THE SMALL BUMP WHERE IT MEETS THE ROAD, SENT THE FRONT END OF MY VEHICLE INTO WHAT I CAN ONLY SAY WAS A VIOLENTLY OUT OF CONTROL SHAKING THAT I COULD NOT STOP FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THE WHOLE VEHICLE SHOOT UNCONTROLLABLY AS I DID ALL I COULD TO SMASH THE BRAKE PEDAL THAT DID VERY LITTLE, AS WELL AS HOLD ON TO THE STEERING WHEEL THAT WAS GOING BACK AND FORTH SO HARD AND FAST IT WAS IT COULD NOT BE TURNED IN ANY DIRECTION UNTIL THE VEHICLES SLOWED. WE WERE IN TRAFFIC AT THE TIME AND I COULD NOT CONTROL MY VEHICLE UNTIL IT SLOWED AND I COULD GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE SHAKING WAS VERY VIOLENT. I KNOW ABOUT VEHICLES SO I LOOKED OVER THE WHOLE FRONT END AND SAW NOTHING WRONG. I DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME, ABOUT 30 MILES FROM THE INCIDENT AT 50 MPH. I HAD A WOBBLE AROUND 25 MPH GOING DOWN AN ON-RAMP. THE MILEAGE WAS AROUND 24,000. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THE SERVICEMAN SAID, OH, YOU HAD A 'DEATH WOBBLE' AND SAID IT JUST NEEDED ADJUSTMENT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN PART WILL BE IN TO FIX IF FIXABLE.

I LET MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDDLE AND APPLIED SLIGHT PRESSURE TO THE BREAKS, WHICH MADE THE WOBBLE WORSE. AFTER FINALLY SLOWING DOWN TO ~30 MPH THE TRUCK STOPPED WOBBLING AND SHAKING. I HONESTLY BELIEVE A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER COULD HAVE EASILY LOST CONTROL AND ROLLED THE TRUCK CAUSING A MULTIPLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY KILLING PEOPLE.

THE PROBLEM FORCING ME TO BASICALLY PARK MY VEHICLE OR ONLY DRIVE IT AROUND TOWN AT LOWER SPEEDS THAT I KNOW I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED THE WOBBLE AT. I TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY BACK TO FORD AND THEY REPLACED THE STEERING STABILIZER. I WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON I 81 IN THE FAST LANE THINKING THEY FIXED AND THE TRUCK AGAIN WENT INTO DEATH WOBBLE AT APPROXIMATELY 65 -70 MPH AND HAD TO BRAKE EXTREMELY HARD DOWN TO ABOUT 35 MPH TO GET IT TO STOP ALMOST CAUSING A MAJOR PILE UP AS THERE WAS HEAVY TRAFFIC AT THAT TIME. AFTER I GOT BACK I DROPPED THE TRUCK AT FORD AGAIN AND TOLD HIM DRIVE IT, WHICH HE WOULDN'T , HE SAID HE CHECKED ALL THE STEERING COMPONENTS AND THEY WERE TIGHT, HE SAID "TAKE TO SOME PLACE THAT HAS A BETTER ALIGNMENT RACK, SO I DID THAT AND PAID OUT OF MY OWN POCKET FOR IT. IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, I REPLACED THE STEERING BOX TO A TOP OF THE LINE BOX OUT OF MY OWN POCKET EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN REPLACED . I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY TRUCK SAFELY SINCE NOV. OF 2018 AND IT IS NOW JUL. 29TH 2019. I CANT LET ANYONE ELSE DRIVE IT FOR FEAR OF KILLING AN INNOCENT PERSON, EVEN THE MECHANIC THAT PUT THE SECOND STEERING BOX IN DID THE ALIGNMENT AGAIN IS SCARED TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT HAPPENED WITH HIM AFTER THE 2ND REPLACEMENT BOX. RECIEVED A RECALL FROM FORD FOR FROZEN DOOR LATCHES. DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE IN THE COLD. WENT INTO DEALERSHIP AND THEY "FIXED" THE RECALL. BUT IT DID NOT WORK. FORD STATES THERE IS NO OTHER FIX AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AT THIS TIME. THEY TOLD ME TO BUNGEE MY DOOR SHUT AND WAIT FOR ANOTHER RECALL! THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER THAT COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH AND FORD IS TAKING NO ACTION TO FIX!

THE TAILGATE ON MY TRUCK OPENS ON ITS OWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 6 TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH TO SEE IF THIS WAS HAPPENING TO OTHERS AND FOUND A FEW ARTICLES MENTIONING IT WAS HAPPENING. I FIGURED I WOULD ALSO SUBMIT THIS FORM TO LET YOU KNOW IT WAS HAPPENING TO ME AS WELL.

I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF "DEATH WOBBLE"...... VEHICLE ONLY HAS 12,000 MILES ON IT..... HAVE DONE RESEARCH. SEEMS LIKE THERE IS A SAFETY BULLETIN OUT. FORD TOLD ME THE PARTS ARE ON BACKORDER FOR FIX.....PEOPLE ONLINE SAYING EVEN AFTER FORD FIX STILL NOT FIXED. I DONT FEEL SAFE LETTING ANYONE ELSE DRIVE THIS VEHICLE....OR ME DRIVING IT ABOVE 50 MPH. SO BASICALLY IF YOU HIT A ROAD JOINT FOR A BRIDGE FOR EXAMPLE (WHERE I HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN 3 TIMES SO FAR) IT THROWS THE FRONT END INTO A RYTHMATIC VIOLENT SHAKE. YOU HAVE TO SLAM ON YOUR BRAKES AND SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 25MPH FOR IT TO GO AWAY. I AM GOOD AT RECOVERING FROM IT NOW..... BUT I ALMOST SMASHED INTO THE GUY NEXT TO ME THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED..... AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC TAIL GATE OPENS RANDOMLY WITHOUT DRIVER SELECTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING AND HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO TAILGATE AND TRAVEL TRAILER. NO INDICATION TAILGATE IS OPEN GIVEN TO DRIVER. THIS HAPPENED WITHIN THE FIRST 100 MILES AFTER PURCHASE, THE FIRST TIME. IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THAT. LAST INCIDENT I HAD JUST PULLED ONTO THE FREEWAY AND WAS FLAGGED DOWN BY A PASSING TRUCKER WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 65MPH THAT MY TAILGATE HAD OPENED. IMAGINE IF SOMETHING HAD FALLEN OUT OF THE BED OF MY TRUCK AND CAUSED ANOTHER MOTORIST TO CRASH. I HAD HEARD A CREAKING SOUND WHILE TURNING ONTO A ROADWAY WITH MY AIRSTREAM TRAVEL TRAILER ATTACHED. THE TAILGATE HAD CRUNCHED AGAINST THE PROPANE BOTTLES CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TAILGATE, THE PROPANE BOTTLES, AND THE COVER. THIS HAD HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES IN OTHER INSTANCES BUT THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE UNTIL THIS LAST EVENT WHILE TOWING MY AIRSTREAM TRAVEL TRAILER. I CONTACTED FORD DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IN AUSTIN; THEY SUBMITTED TO FORD AND FORD SAID THEY WOULD PAY PART OF THE BILL, BUT I AM ON THE HOOK TO PAY ALSO. THIS IS A FORD WIRING HARNESS ISSUE. SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED SAME ISSUE. FORD SHOULD FIX THIS 100% BEFORE SOMETHING SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS FROM ITEMS FALLING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE TRUCK WHEN BED OPENS AUTOMATICALLY.

WHILE TRAVELING DOWN I45 AT 70MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK STARTED TO WOBBLE REALLY BAD AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO WOBBLE BAD ALSO. IT WAS HARD TO HOLD ON TOO. I SLOWED DOWN AND GOT OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE RODE , AT ABOUT 30 MPH IT QUIT WOBBLING AND I PROCEEDED ON. SOON AFTER I WAS GOING ABOUT 65 MPH AND IT STARTED WOBBLING AGAIN. I SLOWED DOWN AS I DID BEFORE AND IT STOPPED WOBBLING AGAIN AROUND 30MPH. I PARKED WHEN I GOT HOME. I WENT TO WORK THE NEXT DAY AND IT STARTED WOBBLING AGAIN. EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT, IT WOBBLES NOW. I HAVE CALLED DEALERSHIP AND WILL BE TAKING T IN 6 DAYS FROM TODAY. THEY COULD NOT FIT ME IN UNTIL THEN.

MY FORD F250 HAS A SEVERE "WOBBLE" WHEN HITTING BUMPS IN THE ROAD. THE TRUCK BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND DOES NOT STOP UNTIL SLOWING TO ABOUT 35 MPH. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TRAVELING AT ONLY 45 MPH AND AFTER THAT IT HAPPENED AT GREATER SPPEEDS UP TO 70 MPH. AT TIMES, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. IT HAPPENED BETWEEN 15-20 ON MY TRIP BACK TO TEXAS. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO FORD AND THEY ARE THE ONES WHO DESCRIBED IT AS A WOBBLE. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS DEFECT, I LEARNED THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE AT LEAST 2011 AND FORD WILL NOT CORRECT THIS AS A WARRANTY PROBLEM EVEN IF YOU'RE VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD MY FRONT END WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT TO WHICH I REPLIED " IF IT IS, IT'S BECAUSE OF THE WOBBLE", AND OF COURSE THE MECHANIC SAID THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE, BUT HE WAS NEVER IN THE TRUCK WHEN IT "WOBBLED". I THEN WAS TOLD ABOUT ANOTHER CORRECTION, BUT THE REPAIRS WOULD NOT BE COVERED. SO THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THE "WOBBLE" IS TO ADD STEERING/STABILIZER SHOCKS TO THE FRONT END AND PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET EVEN THOUGH IT IS A PROBLEM THAT FORD KNOWS ALL ABOUT. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY NO HELP TELLING ME "AFTER MARKET PARTS", ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY EVEN IF THAT IS WHAT IT TAKES TO REPAIR THE OBVIOUS DEFECT OF THE FORD F250. I HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT FORD WAS ADDING PARTS TO THE VEHICLE, RATHER I THOUGHT THEY WERE MAKING REPAIRS TO THE EXISTING VEHICLE. SO, IT IS OBVIOUS FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM AND HOW TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BUT THEY REFUSE TO TAKE OF THEIR VEHICLES OR THEIR CUSTOMER SAFETY. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT WOULD BE EASY TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I AM ASKING YOU TO PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT TURNS DEADLY, AND IT WILL TURN DEADLY.

I RECENTLY PARKED MY TT AT OUR NEW RV CAMPGROUND. WHILE BACKING IT UP THE GATE OPENED RANDOMLY IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN AND DENTED THE TOP OF MY TAILGATE. EXTREMELY UPSET I NEW IT WAS GOING TO BE A HARD CASE TO SUBMIT TO WARRANTY FOR THEM TO BELIEVE THAT IT WASN'T USER ERROR. A FEW DAYS LATER I LEFT WORK AND DROVE 20 MILES DOWN THE HIGHWAY ONLY TO GET TO WHERE I WAS GOING AND GET OUT OF MY TRUCK TO SEE THE TAILGATE DOWN WITH A FULL PROPANE TANK IN THE BACK AN A $1000 WORTH OF FISHING POLES. TODAY I TOOK MY WIFE TO LUNCH AND WHEN WE PARKED AND GOT OUT THE GATE WAS DOWN AGAIN. WE ATE WENT A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD, SHOPPED AND UNLOCKED THE DOORS USING THE FOB AND THE GATE DROPPED. THAT'S TWICE IN ONE DAY. IT WAS GETTING WORSE. SHORTLY AFTER, I GOT A LAST MINUTE CALL TO MOVE MY TT DUE TO RISING WATERS HERE IN BUCHANAN AT THE RV PARK AND WHILE I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE THE GATE OPENED ON ITS OWN WHILE THE DOORS WERE UNLOCKED. SO I GOT OUT MY CAMERA AND CLOSED THE GATE. WITHIN 20 SECONDS IT OPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME I VIDEO TAPED IT AND TEXTED THE VIDEO TO MY FORD WARRANTY REP. I RUSHED MY TRUCK TO COVERT FORD AND BY GODS GOOD GRACE THE TAILGATE OPENED REPEATEDLY IN FRONT OF EVERY FORD REP WORKING. I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHAT THEY FIND. MY TRUCK IS A 2017 F250 LARIAT ULTIMATE. I HAVE A VIDEO BUT IT IS 9.63MB. EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT IT.

THE MANUFACTURER HAS DESIGNED A TRAILER HITCH THAT MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO USE SAFETY CHAINS WITH. YOU CAN NOT ADEQUATELY ATTACH THE HOOKS LEADING THE POSSIBILITY OF A RUNAWAY TRAILER. THE FORD SUPERDUTY TRUCKS BOAST OF THEIR ABILITY TO PULL WELL OVER 10,000 POUNDS BUT THEIR ENGINEERS DID NOT PROVIDE A WAY TO FASTEN SAFETY CHAINS.
