All Unknown Or Other Complaints (109)
Backup camera distorted, wavy lines, and sometimes blank screen. I have seen other trucks of same year and model that have recalls and dont understand why mine don't. It happens all the time.
Unstable control when driving over uneven roads. Are you sure that recall was done on my truck?
Backup camera is obscured and has lines in it and sometimes it don't even work
Passenger Door latch not functioning properly resulting in the door opening while driving. It only latches closed if the door is being manually held and the key fob lock button is pressed. If the unlock button is inadvertently pushed the door will open while driving
Experience the death Wobble, violently shaking, causing very hard to control vehicle.
The air conditioner compressor locked up (internal failure) which caused the engine v-belt to fail and resulted in the loss of power steering.
Over the last two years my vehicle will display down hill decent, vehicle is not in park, and the wrench light will all display on my screen for no reason. I will pull over and shut the vehicle off and restart the vehicle and all of the messages will go away. Ford hass updatd my software but the messages keep returning. No codes are displayed and the truck runs fine. Ford knows of the issue but they will not fix the issue due to no recall.
My car has death wobble issues. If I go more than 30-40mph on the highway the car starts shaking violently and uncontrollably and swerves side to side. It is a very scary experience. This has happen multiple times. We have brought to the different shops ans change several components but after a month or so the issue comes back. Until recently I brought to a ford dealer and came to find out about the defective problem on this this type of cars. Unfortunateluly ford doesnt want to pay for the entire repair cost.
“Death wobble” vehicle was at highway speed when hit a bump and cause the vehicle to shake violently, causing unsafe driving conditions with lack of control.
1) Front suspension Death Wobble causing loss of control of truck. 2) Lost control of the vehicle running off the road at 70 mph through a fence. 3) Ford has attempted to repair the truck 3 times, the warranty company claimed there is no probem withe the truck the 4th time and declined repair. 4) Pictures have been supplied to insurance, no other inspections. 5) There are no warnings. The first time the issue appears was about 25K miles. I have had my 2019 Ford F250 truck in the shop 4 times for a total of close to 90 days for the Ford Truck Death Wobble. The last time in the shop MPP, Inc. declined to repair the issue. On 9/20/2023, the truck started the Death Wobble causing loss of control and running through a barbed wire fence causing significant damage. Also, Ford has never been able to get the parts to complete the recall during the times I have had the truck in the shop.
While driving on the interstate in South Dakota I may have driven over a small bump in the road. I was in the passing lane. The truck immediately started shaking and I felt like I was going to lose control of the truck. Weather conditions were perfect, sunny and the road was completely dry. I immediately started braking thinking perhaps I had blown out a tire but the truck continued to shake violently while I tried to move back into the driving lane and on to the shoulder of the road. The truck did not quit shaking until I had stopped the vehicle on the shoulder. There was a lot of traffic on the interstate as the Sturgis motorcycle rally had just ended and I had a cyclist behind me as I pulled back into the drivers lane however he had enough space and time to allow me over. I checked my tires and all were fine so I slowly tried pulling back onto the interstate and the truck performed as it should. I drove at a much slower speed making sure it did not happen again. I did some research online and found what is called "the death wobble on Ford trucks" and feel this is exactly what I encountered. I feel this is a very unsafe condition that should be reported and felt necessary to issue this report.
Recall #22V644 is coming up on a 1 yr anniversary and Ford has yet to fix my truck. Weeks ago I saw on this website that the parts are now available. I called one dealer, Covington Ford, in Covington Georgia, and was told the parts had to be ordered. I gave all my info and have not heard back from them. I then called Athens Ford in Athens Georgia and was told the parts would have to be ordered. This is ridiculous! If parts are now available why don't these dealers have them to make repairs to affected vehicles. More importantly, why hasn't Ford reached out to owners of these vehicles to tell them parts are now available. I would like for NHTSA to force Ford to repair my vehicle. Thanks Mike
NHTSA issued this recall last September. When is NHTSA going to turn up the heat on Ford to complete this recall repair?
NHTSA issued recall notice 22V644 last September for the rear view camera lens. Every time I call Ford they tell me the parts have not been released. Why can't NHTSA make Ford fix these cameras? If Ford can still build trucks they can repair the ones with defective cameras. If the parts are not available Ford should be made to completely replace the rear camera. Michael Stine
While driving 45 miles an hour down a 3 lane highway I hit a pothole with the left front tire only the truck started to shake uncontrollably I had a hard time keeping it straight and veered into the left lane had to aggressively apply the brakes To get the vehicle to stop causing the vehicle behind me to swerve into the other lane no accidents occurred fortunately This is the 1st time it has happened and the truck did not show any signs of warning or issues. Once I got to a safe place to get out I looked around the truck but could not find any wrong. I will have it inspected by Ford.
The F250 will violently shake in an uncontrollable and unpredictable manner on occasion. It typically happens at speeds over 40 mph when encountering any variation from perfectly flat pavement. Ford has an extended warranty to cover the engineering and design failure of some portion of the steering and suspension system; however, the part is backordered and unavailable to make the covered repair. The vehicle is available to be inspected. The engineering and design flaw causes the vehicle to become uncontrollable while trying to come to a stop endangering the occupants as well as anyone or property in the path. The problem was confirmed by a ford dealer and was stated “it is a known issue with the vehicle” It has not been examined by anyone other than the ford dealership. There were no warning signs from the vehicle; however, an internet search revealed numerous incidents that sound identical. Ford was contacted multiple times, they said they would contact me in reference to a solution 3 times. They never did contact me, when I was able to inquire I was met with an indifferent attitude about my safety and others safety.
When driving vehicle around 60 to 65 mph on interstate, when you hit a bump it will begin to shake violently and pull to one side. Took vehicle to dealership. They replaced numerous parts, but steering linkage arm, which Ford says it actual problem, is back ordered and could be a year before it is available. I was driving vehicle on the interstate after picking it up from the dealership and it did exactly the same thing. It does not seem safe to drive vehicle, but I do not have another truck to drive.
In the last month of Nov,2022 I almost had 3 near accident incidents with my F250 Super Duty Ford due to a wobbling on front driver side wheels. I have done some research and looks like my truck has the wobble of death issues. I am afraid to drive again and it is our work truck and would like to know my options. Thank you
While driving at freeway speeds, hitting a pothole or other bump, vehicle wobbles uncontrollably in the front end. Vehicle must reduce speed quickly to stop the wobble. I have taken this vehicle into Ford Service twice. The first time they said they fixed the problem by replacing the strut and steering damper. Problem occurred less frequently but continues to occur. I took it in a second time but they could not find a problem. They stated they tried to replicate the problem, but my onboard camera shows they did not take the vehicle off of the lot to drive it at freeway speeds. Forder service said they are aware of the problem but don't know how to fix it. No warning lights. No messages. Nothing unusual was occurring at the time. Freeway speeds were somewhere around 50-70 mph at the times it happened.
My truck has a death wobble!!! It shakes uncontrollably at speeds greater than 55 miles per hour when I hit any bumps. I lose total control of steering and have almost wrecked several times.
I was traveling at approximately 65 MPH on a 4 lane divided highway, when i crossed over a small bridge the front end of the truck began shaking violently for no reason As I slowed down to a stop on the shoulder the shaking stopped. After inspecting the vehicle I continued on my way without further incident. After looking online I found this is called the Ford F-250 "Death Wobble" .
My 2019 F250 has only 17328 miles today. This month I experienced two dangerous situations. When driving at high speed on the freeway, approx. 60 miles per hour, the steering wheel and the whole front end start an uncontrollable shake and wobble. It feels like the truck is going to be broken into pieces. I was driving at freeway speed in the carpool lane, this sudden wobbling scared me and all my family inside the truck. We thought the truck was going to explode or something. I immediately turned on my emergency light and reduced my speed. The car behind me almost hit my truck. I had to get out of the car pool lane and shift four lines before stopping on the shoulder. I looked into the problem online and found out that many Ford Heavy Duty truck owners like me had similar experiences. I went to a nearby Ford dealer, and the advisor informed me that this problem is known as "Death Wobble" and that Ford is aware of it. However, parts are unavailable, with no ETA! This dangerous issue could cause a vehicle operator to panic and try to reduce speed on the freeway suddenly in order to regain control, but it could also cause the vehicle to collide with a following vehicle or lose control, hitting vehicles nearby. My life and my family's lives could be in danger because of this. I am worried about driving this truck again since this is my work truck. Please help!
Suddenly while driving, the car begins to shake uncontrollably/violently, causing the vehicle to swerve and rapidly rotating the steering wheel to move from side to side, making it difficult to control and causes great fear of trying not to crash. Feels like my vehicle is about to fall part so I feel like I have to hold onto my car for dear life.
While driving on more than one occasion the front of the truck and steering wheel starts violently shaking. It makes it hard to control. Once you pull over and stop, you can resume driving without issue. You never know when it will happen.
The first time it happened was about 9/3/2022. I was driving down the road at 60 mph and hit the rumble strip in the middle of the road. The truck started shaking violently until I slowed substantially. I started back up and it was fine. On three separate occasions it has started to do this went hitting a bump in the road. Each time I was driving about 60 mph and it stopped when I slowed substantially. It is almost impossible to steer it when it happens and it is very dangerous.
While driving, if you hit a rough place in the road, the front end shakes violently. You have to apply the brakes and nearly stop to get it to stop shaking. It has happened a few times. We have an appointment to get this repaired, October 5th, 2022.
Front end of vehicle shakes uncontrollably when hitting an uneven road at speed over 50-70 mph. Breaks have to be applied, speed reduction and hazards almost causing collisions. This has occurred 6 times since May 2022. There is current slight shaking on the steering wheel. Dissatisfied with the no disclosure of this issue when purchasing this vehicle and model.
When driving on uneven roads (bumps/potholes) the front end shakes almost like it’s hydroplaning or skipping across the road.
I was driving down the highway today around 70 MPH when I went over a very small pothole. The steering wheel started to shake violently and then the whole truck started to shake. I slowed down and started to pull over because I thought I had blown a tire. When I got down to about 20 MPH on the shoulder the shaking stopped. I got out to inspect the tires and they were all fine. I immediately called my mechanic and he told me this used to be a common problem with Ford trucks a while ago and he heard that it had started to happen again.
The truck began shaking uncontrollably at approximately 70mph.. fortunately I was in the right lane , and traffic wasn’t very busy, and I was able to get the truck off the side of the road without creating an accident.. I have owned the truck since it was new, and have not experienced any issue until now! The truck has just over 40,000 miles on it. Took truck to dealership to be inspected and they said everything looks good.. but they also said that the part that I needed was on back order. At the current time I’m waiting on repairs to be made, but I am very uneasy about the safety of the vehicle now..
Truck is experiencing condition that is commonly referred to as the death wobble on the internet. Traveling at 50 plus miles an hour and hit a small bump in the road and the truck immediately begins to shake and vibrate uncontrollably. Only way to stop the shaking is to come to almost a complete stop. This is a very serious and dangerous condition. Imagine traveling down the highway at 60 miles an hour and having to come to almost a complete stop with other trucks and cars wizzing past you. Not to mention the car that has to take evasive action behind you to keep from running into your vehicle. This is a very real and serious defect with the Ford F250 that Ford needs to take immediate ownership and corrective action. When the vehicle is traveling over a certain speed and hits bumps or uneven road it loses control of the steering wheel.
As the vehicle is driven, it'll suddenly shake so violently, I can barely keep it straight, and my wife can barely hold on to the steering wheel. This 1st happened July 2020, and we thought it was the poor condition of the road...but since, we have almost been bounced off the road and were very fortunate there was no on coming traffic, so many times, my wife will not drive the truck....and the passengers who've been with us when this has happened , will not ride again in the vehicle....never were we driving over 65 when any of these incidents happen...typically around 50-55.....I originally thought the truck had rough suspension, because any time the road conditions were not perfect, this would happen in small increments, I thought it was the suspensions...but since July 2020, we have to try to pull the truck over (which is difficult as we have little if any control of the steering ) and come to a complete stop, to get control of the truck....
Death wobble occurs on highway at speeds from 50mph to 75mph
The backup camera, located in the tailgate, is so distorted it is almost useless. In certain lighting, day and night, it is useless. The camera that looks into the truck bed - located at the top/back of the cab - is incredibly clear and visible. The problem lies in the backup camera. I have nearly hit multiple things due to the lack of visibility. Fortunately, I have not hit anything/had an accident. But the camera, along with the front camera (which is not as critical), is clearly faulty. The image is incredibly blurry. I have tried cleaning it, all research indicates the camera is not sealed well and moisture gets inside the camera. Replacing it with an OEM part does not solve the issue. Please recall these cameras before someone gets hurt.
When driving and you go over a slight bump in the road it makes your truck shake tremendously. I do not know if it is the suspension trying to over-correct it self but it is bad. When looking this issue up I have seen it called the Ford F250 "death wobble". I have yet to have this happen at speeds less than 50mph so this could possibly lead to a serious accident. I have made a video which I can submit for evidence (it is a MP4 file format). There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to when it will happen or how long it last.
Tail gate automatically opened and tail gate dropped multiple times while driving. It was raining when it happened
Death Wobble ... hit an uneven portion of the road and my truck began to shake violently. Quickly reduced speed and things returned to normal
Driving 75mph on freeway and front-end started shaking violently 2019 ford f250 could not be controlled almost caused a collision.
The rear backup camera has fogged up so much as to be useless and unviewable.
I was traveling down the highway at high speeds and my vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. I had to pull over to the side of the road and slow down for it to stop. On a separate occasion, the same thing happened...the steering wheel was shaking almost like the vehicle was seizing up.
Death wobble, Uncontrollable shaking going over bumps or 45+ miles per hour Has happened multiple times sense July 2021
While driving down the interstate, traveling at 65 MPH, after traversing a moderate bump in the road, the steering wheel started violently shaking. The only way to get the shaking to stop was to slow down to 40 MPH, 25 MPH below the posted speed limit. The inability to control the vehicle and the unsafe requirement to slow on a busy highway is a serious safety concern. This situation is wide lol y known as the Death Wobble.
My Ford F-250 2019 Shakes violently on random occasions when I am driving over 50 mph. No warning laps or messages show up prior. This incident has happened multiple times already. It happens when i'm driving on the highway. On this more recent incident I was on the highway with my pregnant wife and my 6 year old son and the vehicle started shaking violently and I nearly lost control for a moment on a busy highway in Miami FL. I was able to gain control and pull off safely onto the emergency lane. There are no recalls for this malfunction. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. This incident could have caused the life of my family and many others on this highway if i wouldnt have been able to gain control.
When truck was hit at rear lower corner of cab, rear driver side door came open. Door was locked and impact was at low speed, under 10mph.
While driving at highway speed (60-65MPH) on interstate highway, upon entering upon a bridge or overpass (and crossing over a small bump at the beginning of same), the front-end began to shake violently; said violent shaking only stopped after brakes were slammed on and speed was reduced to a crawl. This happened three times on a recent trip. Vehicle has been properly maintained, last serviced at Ford Dealer on 7/14/21. I experienced "death wobble" as described in hundreds of other complaints. Fortunately, I grip the wheel tightly and did not run off the road. This condition (apparently well-known to Ford) put my life and my wife's life in danger, as well as that of anyone driving behind me. Why hasn't NHTSA recalled this vehicle when this exact problem has been documented hundreds of times?
Experienced extreme steering wheel oscillation at 45 mph on freeway on-ramp. Oscillation was so extreme I had to pull off freeway and stop to regain normal steering control. Went to Ford dealership and they informed me I experienced the “Death Wobble “ That was the first time I had heard of the Death Wobble. Dealer replaced front steering dampener and recommended other linkage components be replaced. Steering Stabilizer was replaced under warranty 20NO4. Truck had 17429 miles. So after doing research on this I have found that it is a common problem from 2005-2019 Ford trucks and there has been no recall. This is a huge safety problem. Talk to a dealer service manger and explain you had extreme steering wheel oscillation on your Ford truck and they will say you have the “Death Wobble “. Not sure what would happen while towing a 10,000 lbs fifth wheel rv.
Driver hit a pothole in the road while driving at approx. 50 mph and the steering wheel started shaking violently. Driver slowed down immediately and the shaking stopped. Driver later went over a railroad track on the hwy. and reported the steering wheel started shaking violently again and the driver couldn't control the steering of the truck as it veered off the hwy. and almost hit a metal light post in the median of the hwy. The driver was able to apply brakes to stop since there was no traffic behind him. The driver and his passengers were not injured but scared (of course). There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem prior to the incident. The earliest appointment we can get with an authorized Ford dealer is over a week away. The problem will be checked out at that time.
when my headlights are on, many times my rear lights do not work. This has never been so when first turned on but they go off later (I have after market side marker lights on my truck so I can see this). If I move the headlight switch one direction or the other, they will come on, Then I can move it back and they will stay on. May not happen again for days, or may happen again in minutes. I spoke with the dealer, and they have no bulletins about this issue and can not address until they stop working all together. Since then I have been watching trucks of this body style and see them go past with headlights on, then I look in my mirror and many do not have any tail lights lit. In this week alone I have counted 17 trucks with no tail lights when head lights are on. In a standard pickup that does not have side marker lights it would be impossible to know this is occurring. I bough this truck new in June of 2019 and had noticed that pulling my trailer, that many times the trailer side marker lights would go out driving down the road. I assumed the trailer had an issue. It wasn't until April 16, 2021 that I noticed this issue. I had an after market body installed after removing the pickup bed, and the following day, I noticed this issue. I assumed a ground issue with the body install, but later that day they came on and stayed on so I assumed the ground during installation had been faulty and resolved itself. This week I came out of a store with truck running because my help was inside truck and noticed the tail lights were not on, but head lights were. Once I moved switch on notch, they came on as described above, that is when I contacted Ford Dealer to no resolve and began watching other trucks and discovered I am not alone in this issue.
Truck tailgate has been opening on it’s own while I’m driving for several weeks. The first few times I thought I had maybe pushed the FOB in my pocket somehow. I pull a bumper pull trailer most of the time and I had been taking the FOB out of my pocket and setting it in my console so I would not “accidentally” open the tailgate. Over the weekend I ran to the store and when I put my truck in reverse I could see from the camera that the tailgate was already open, and the FOB was sitting inside my console. Today I’m pulling a trailer and the tailgate opened up again at some point and smashed the tailgate all up from it crushing against the jack on the trailer. FORD tells me my truck wasn’t involved in the recall that was issued for this already and yet my truck is experiencing the exact same thing with no recourse other than to file it on my insurance and get hit with a higher policy amount or pay for it out of pocket and from what I can see will cost several thousand dollars. A quick internet search shows there are far more than me that are having issues with this.

WHEN THERE IS A CHANGE IN PAVEMENT OR BUMP IN THE ROAD, AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED, THE VEHICLE BEGINS VIOLENTLY SHAKING AND IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. I'VE SINCE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND THIS IS REFERRED TO AS A "DEATH WOBBLE." THIS HAS HAPPENED AT 55 MPH AND AT 80 MPH. FRONT OF VEHICLE ALWAYS SEEMS TO "FLOAT" WHEN THERE IS A CHANGE IN PAVEMENT OR BUMP IN THE ROAD, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE DEATH WOBBLE OCCURS.

WHILE DRIVING WESTBOUND ON I-10 I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET OFF THE NORTH BOUND OFF RAMP AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO "WOBBLE" I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND THIS NOT BEING THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED I KNEW NOT TO HIT THE BRAKES. THE TRUCK CONTINUED GOING WEST, I WENT THROUGH TWO MEDIANS AND HIT A SIGN BEFORE STOPPING IN A SOUTH BOUND ON COMING TRAFFIC LANE. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE DOCUMENTED TIMES WITH TWO DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIPS AND THEY WERE ALSO GIVEN A LIST OF OTHER OCCURRENCES. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS CALLED THE 'DEATH WOBBLE" AND THAT IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE. EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED IN FOR THE ISSUE I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE, THAT POSSIBLY GETTING NEW TIRES OR ALIGNMENT MAY HELP. NOTHING HELPED, I WAS JUST IN ON JULY 30TH FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND THE RECALL I LATER FOUND OUT ABOUT WAS NOT ADDRESSED. WHEN THE ISSUE WAS DISCUSSED WITH JONES FORD I WAS TOLD "LUCKY THING IS NO ONE HAS DIED FROM THIS"

I WAS DRIVING 70-75 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY F250 TRUCK STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING (AKA THE "SHAKE OF DEATH" OR "DEATH WOBBLE") AND WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE TRUCK. I ALMOST CRASHED. ALL MY BELONGINGS IN MY TRUCK WERE ALL OVER. THE VEHICLE ALMOST FLIPPED. ITS A MIRACLE I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT OUT ALIVE. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND THEY "FIXED" THE "DAMPER ASY". FORD IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MANY CUSTOMERS. DOING RESEARCH I REALIZE HOW MANY CLOSE CALLS AND INJURIES PEOPLE HAVE SUFFERED DUE TO THIS PROBLEM ON THE SAME YEAR FORD TRUCKS, THERE IS ALSO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT'S BEEN PENDING FOR A WHILE APPARENTLY. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON ALL THESE TRUCKS BEFORE TRAGEDY HAPPENS! *TR

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MY F250 WHICH IS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD WOULD BEGIN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. I WOULD HAVE TO SLOW IMMEDIATELY ALMOST TO A FULL STOP...IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC ON BUSY INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS TWICE. ONCE I RAN OFF THE ROAD TRYING TO REGAIN CONTROL. IT WOULD HAPPEN VERY RANDOMLY AND THEN NOT HAPPEN AGAIN FOR DAYS OR WEEKS. YESTERDAY IT HAPPENED THREE TIMES SO I GOT SCARED, PULLED OVER AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. THEY SAID, BASICALLY, OH, THAT'S THE "DEATH WOBBLE" WE HAVE FIXED TWO OTHERS LIKE THAT. I GOOGLED DEATH WOBBLE TODAY AND THAT IS WHAT MINE DID. SCARY. I'M WORRIED IT WILL CONTINUE. I OWE $60,000ISH ON A WORK VEHICLE I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE VIDEO BUT IT IS TOO BIG TO UPLOAD. *TR

HIT A BUMP RUNNING 75 MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND EXPERIENCED THE DEATH WOBBLE IT FORCED ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN LESS THAN 2 MILES.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE FRONT END OF MY TRUCK BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE INCLUDING THE STEERING WHEEL! I WAS GOING 65 MPH AND I COULD BARLEY HOLD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL IT WAS SHAKING SO VIOLENTLY! BOTH OF MY WRISTS ARE SWOLLEN AND BRUISED AS WELL AS MY RIGHT THUMB. MY NAIL ON MY RIGHT THUMB IS CRACKED AND BRUISED AS WELL AS A RESULT OF HOLDING ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL AS HARD AS I COULD. I IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN AS SOON AS I COULD BUT I SWERVED INTO THE OTHER LANE AND THEN INTO A DITCH. I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THIS VIOLENT SHAKING. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES TO ME, IT SEEMS TO GET WORSE EACH TIME! THIS TRUCK IS NOT SAFE AND I WANT JUSTICE. THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, THE HIGHWAY I WAS ON WAS A TWO LANE HIGHWAY. IF HE WOULD HAVE BEEN 3 SECONDS CLOSER I WOULD HAVE HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION GOING 65 MPH! THE TRUCK SHAKES SO VIOLENTLY AND IT IS TERRIFYING! *TR

I WAS DRIVING 70 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I WENT OVER AN AREA THAT HAD A PATCH IN THE ROAD AND AS SOON AS I HIT THAT BUMP MY TRUCK FELT LIKE I WAS GONNA LOOSE CONTROL. I ALMOST WENT INTO ANOTHER LANE BUT THANKFULLY I HAD BOTH HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE TRUCK JUST VIBRATED SO HARD. I HAVE NOTICED THAT IT TENDS TO DO THAT ON BUMPS. *TR
Mileage: 29,000
LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, IT GOES INTO A DEATH WOBBLE THAT I CAN'T STOP. THE TRUCK USUALLY HAS TO GET DOWN BELOW 30 MPH BEFORE IT STOPS WOBBLING. I LOST A BOAT OFF A TRAILER BECAUSE THE TRUCK AND TRAILER GOT SIDEWAYS
Mileage: 14,000
DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY AROUND 70 MPH THEN AFTER BREAKS WERE APPLIED THE TRUCK STARTED TO GO INTO A DEATH WOBBLE WHICH ALMOST MADE ME CRASH.
Mileage: 14,500
DEATH WOBBLE / SEVERE SHAKING OF STEERING WHEEL AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE. WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD AT AROUND 70 MPH AND HIT A ROUGH PATCH IN THE PAVEMENT AT A BRIDGE. FORD SHOULD ISSUE A MANDATORY SAFETY RECALL AND REPLACE THE ENTIRE FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM AND STEERING SYSTEM AND WHATEVER ELSE IT TAKES TO FULLY RESOLVE. PEOPLE WILL GET INJURED OR KILLED IF THIS IS NOT FIXED.

MY 2019 FORD F250 HAS A DEATH WOBBLE. I WAS DRIVING ON 3/22/2020 AT ABOUT 50 MPH WHEN MY TRUCK STARTED TO SHAKE. I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 15 MPH TO GET THE WOBBLE TO STOP. THE TRUCK IS 8 MONTHS OLD AND HAS 24,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE TRUCK HAS DONE THIS. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AT 50 MPH. THIS WOBBLE WAS VIOLENT, AND IF I HADN'T SLOWED DOWN IT COULD OF CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THERE WERE CARS COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH MY TRUCK'S STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. IT ALSO FELT AS IF THE WHOLE TRUCK WAS SHAKING. I DECREASED MY SPEED TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND MY TRUCK QUIT SHAKING. THIS HAPPENED ON 02/23/2020. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK. ONE OTHER TIME I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND THE TRUCK QUIT SHAKING. THE OTHER TIME I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY AND I WAS IN A CURVE. THE TRUCK AND STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. I BRIEFLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND WENT INTO THE LEFT LANE. I SLOWED DOWN AND THE SHAKING STOPPED. I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE DEALER TOMORROW MORNING ON 02/24/2020. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHEN MY TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH, IT SEEMS THAT FORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND MY TRUCK SEEMS TO HAVE A DEATH WOBBLE. I AM THE ONLY OWNER OF MY TRUCK AND IT HAS LESS THAN 7600 MILES. MY TRUCK IS FULLY STOCK WITH THE 18 INCH RIMS AND STOCK TIRES.

DEATH WOBBLE. VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAVE TO SLOW ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP TO GET IT TO GO AWAY. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AT USUALLY HIGHER SPEEDS FROM 50 MPH TO 80 MPH WHEN IT HITS A BUMP OR A GAP IN THE PAVEMENT.
Mileage: 8,000
ME AND MY WIFE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY 70-80 MPH, AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO WOBBLE SIDE TO SIDE, AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLAT TIRE. WE SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK, AND NOTHING WAS WRONG. I STARTED BACK ON THE HIGHWAY, AND ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER WE HIT A BUMP GOING ROUGHLY 75 MPH, AND THE TRUCK AGAIN STARTED WOBBLING, I FELT LIKE I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I JUST PURCHASED THIS TRUCK WITH 18,862 MILES ON IT, AND CURRENTLY THERE IS 19,541 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I AM GOING TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I STILL HAVE THE MANUFACTURE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE, BUT I FEEL VERY INTIMIDATED TO DRIVE IT, AND MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE THE TRUCK AFTER THIS INCIDENT. ALL I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE IS THAT THIS IS A RESULT OF THE FORD "DEATH WOBBLE". I DO NOT KNOW WHAT COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE ARE CAUSING THIS, BUT IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO SPEND THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WE DID, ONLY TO FIND IT BEING A POSSIBLE DEATH TRAP.

I HAVE HAD WHAT IS REFERRED TO AS THE DEATH WOBBLE OCCUR 3 TIMES ON MY 2019 FORD F250 TURBO DIESEL SUPER DUTY , I HAVE 23,198 MILES ON IT. GOING FREEWAY SPEED, WHEN YOU HIT UNEVEN HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE SHAKES VIOLENTLY, I HAD TO SLOW TO 30 MPH OR ONE OF THE TIMES COME TO A COMPLETE STOP

OTHERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS AND A DAMPER INSTALL HAD THE PROBLEM RETURN.

LOCAL HIGHWAY DRIVING THE TRUCK SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY FOR ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES OR UNTIL THE TRUCK SLOWS TO A NEAR STOP. THE SHAKE WILL ALSO OCCUR WHEN HITTING A POT HOLE, GOING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS OR BRAKING. THE FIRST EXPERIENCE OCCURRED AT 17,000 MILES AND HAS SINCE CONTINUED TO A CURRENT 26,000 MILES. AFTER TAKING TO FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE THEY HAVE INDICATED THAT SEVERAL TRUCKS WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME AND THE PART(S) WERE ON BACK ORDER. AFTER APPROX. 30 DAYS, THE DAMPNER CAME IN, HOWEVER, THE DEFECT HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE. RETURNED TO FORD SERVICE AND HAD A TIRE ALIGNMENT DONE. TO NO AVAIL, THE SAME ISSUE HAS OCCURRED AGAIN. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS DEFECT AND FOUND THE FORD COMMUNITY IS CALLING THIS OCCURRENCE AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE".

WHILE DRIVING A 2019 FORD F250 XLT 4X4 DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH AND CROSSED A BRIDGE AND WHEN THE TRUCK CROSSED THE EXPANSION JOINTS THE TRUCK GOES INTO A VIOLENT WOBBLE, STEERING WHEEL SHAKES BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY, LIKE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF CONTROL. IN ORDER TO CORRECT IT I HAD TO SLOW DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY TO 40 MPH TO GET IT TO STOP. THIS HAPPENED OVER 10 TIMES TRAVELING FROM KANSAS TO TEXAS. ONE TIME IT HAPPENED WITH 18 WHEELERS TRAVELING BEHIND ME AND NEXT TO ME AND IT FORCED ME TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY IN ORDER TO AVOID A SERIOUS INCIDENT.

ELECTRONIC TAILGATE OPENS UP ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR WHILE PARKED. I NEARLY LOST MY CARGO DUE TO THIS WHICH WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, I INJURED MY HAND WHEN THE TAILGATE OPENED ON ITS OWN AND WAS PINCHED BETWEEN THE TAIL GATE AND TRAILER JACK. NOTHING BONES WERE FRACTURED BUT WAS REALLY SORE AND HAD BRUISING AND LACERATION. I FOUND ONLINE HOW THIS WAS PREVIOUSLY INVESTIGATED IN THE 2017 FORD SUPER DUTY BUT NO RECALL WAS ISSUED. I HAVE A 2019 SUPERDUTY AND WAS INJURED AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. I HAVE HAD THE TAILGATE OPEN ON ITS OWN 12 TIMES NOW AND IT IS GETTING WORSE. I HAVE NOT FOUND ANY SPECIFIC ACTION/CONFIGURATION THAT TRIGGERS THIS. IT IS TOTALLY RANDOM. PLEASE HELP

DEATH WOBBLE- FREEWAY DRIVING, UNCONTROLLABLE, VIOLENT SHAKING, UNRESPONSIVE STEERING AND BRAKE CONTROL. FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD IN THE DEALERSHIP TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, AND IT WAS NOT FIXED. I AM IN FEAR FOR MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD AS THE TRUCK IS UNCONTROLLABLE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES ON THE FREEWAY, AND THEN ANOTHER AFTER IT WAS TAKEN IN TO BE FIXED.

ON 11-15-2019 WHILE ON HWY I-95 SOUTH, AT ABOUT 72MPH , MY F250 STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AT THE FRONT END AFTER GOING OVER SLIGHTLY ROUGH PATCH OF ROAD. THE SHAKING WAS SO VIOLENT THAT I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW MINUTES. VEHICLES NEAR ME HAD TO AVOID ME UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 25MPH. HAD I BEEN ON A CURVATURE , I WOULD HAVE SURELY CRASHED. ON 11-17-2019 , I EXPERIENCED THE DEATH WOBBLE AGAIN ON AT ABOUT THE SAME SPEED , THIS TIME I WAS WITH A COLLEAGUE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THE SHAKING WAS VERY SCARY AND WORRYING. THIS PROBLEM WITH THE F-250 TRUCKS IS APPARENTLY NOT UNCOMMON, WE PULLED OVER AND DID A GOOGLE SEARCH , IT APPEARS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOTHING NEW , BUT FORD HAS NOT MADE CONSUMERS AWARE OF IT ,AND CONTINUES TO SELL THE VEHICLE WITH OUT INFORMING THE PUBLIC. DO PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE FIRST ??? PLEASE HELP. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).' *PM

VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY & UNCONTROLLABLE WHEN GOING OVER A ROUGH ROAD SURFACE. FEELS LIKE THE TIRES ARE GOING TO FALL OFF. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER BOTH HAVE ACTED AS IF THEY KNOW LITTLE ABOUT THE HUGE PROBLEM. DEALER PARTS FOR REPAIRS ARE ALWAYS BACK ORDERED AS MOST DEALERSHIP WILL WILLINGLY ADMIT THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AS OF TODAY. I WENT TO MULTIPLY DEALERSHIPS TO FIND HONESTY AND THEY ARE HIDING THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THE BEST SELLING TRUCK THEY OFFER. THIS IS YOUR JOB TO PROTECT CONSUMERS FROM DANGER AND THIS CERTAINLY IS THE MOST DANGEROUS VEHICLE I HAVE EVER BEEN A PART OF .

OUR COMPANY VEHICLE (WITH 43K MILES ON IT) STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND ENTIRE TRUCK WOBBLES ON THE FREEWAY. IT IS REFERRED TO ONLINE AS THE FORD DEATH WOBBLE. EXPERIENCING FORD F250 "DEATH WOBBLE." NOT HITTING ANY BUMPS OR RUTS BEFORE TRUCK STARTS SHAKING. ONLY WAY TO STOP IS TAKE FOOT OF ACCELERATOR AND HIT BRAKE TRUCK IS TWO MONTHS OLD WITH 6,600 MILES ON ODO. STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEM ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO. FIRST TWO TIMES HAPPENED ABOUT 45 MPH, LAST TIME AT 55MPH. SERVICE MANAGER AT TALLAHASSEE FORD SAYS DEATH WOBBLE WAS ON OLDER TRUCKS. THINKS IS ENGINE PROBLEM AND DOES NOT KNOW CAUSE BUT FIRST APPOINTMENT AVAILABLE IS 2 WEEKS OUT AND I SHOULD CONTINUE TO DRIVE TRUCK. SAYS CANNOT FIX IF THEY CAN'T REPLICATE. VERY INTERMITTENT AND I CANNOT REPLICATE SO UNLIKELY THEY WILL. THIS IS NOT AN ENGINE PROBLEM, IS SCARY WHEN HAPPENS, AND FEELS LIKE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO ME.
