Sometime sudden decrease of power , f250 truck rpm goes high while parking with engine on and now pitman arm broke off causing no control of steering . Having it push safely off the road , contact dealership but no parts to fix and timely how long it takes to get part to fix problem. 2020 ford f250 start but very unsafe to operate with no control of the steering
Driving while pitman arm broke in half lost total control
The transmission would hang up in 7th gear when stopping at red light, caution light or stop signs without warning. It would roll like normal when letting of brakes however when out in the middle of traffic stop signs or caution lights the truck would not move and would not shift as it was hung in 7th gear. The only way to get the truck back in 1st gear was to place the truck in park and turn the ignition off then restart the vehicle. This has happened 3 different times post bringing the truck to silsbee ford for a ecm and tcm reprogram. Originally called dealer back to reports extreme rough shifting and was told they did not mess with anything in the transmission and it was not due to anything they did, never received a call back from manager. No warning lights messages ever appeared to show the transmission had failed to down shift into first gear at the stop lights. All three of these events happened while my 7 year old child was in the truck and two of the times it was a near miss and narrowly avoided accidents. Prior to this since around 50,000 miles truck would shift rough with rough engagement into 3,4th,5th,6th, gears with frequent flare shifts and was told by dealers this was normal characteristic of the transmission.
AT 107,000 I lost 10th gear on the highway while pulling a trailer and was almost involved in a collision. The collar of the f250 10 speed is just as bad as the 2018 10 speed on f150s and they are failing at 100k. Complete new transmission needed. This should be recalled and i should be refunded. This is insanely dangerous to lose power while driving

My 2020 Ford F-250 King Ranch with a 6.7L V8 Turbo Diesel engine experienced severe engine failure while I was driving. The engine was completely destroyed and had to be replaced. My warranty company paid to install a new engine into the truck, but did not pay to have the remaining components fixed that were directly damaged by the engine failure. There was severe damage done to the fuel pump, DEF system, and wiring harnesses that caused the truck to be permanently into a mode called "LIMP Mode" which electronically governs the truck to 50 MPH. There was and still is an unresolved recall on the truck. The recall is as follows: #24S78 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE BIODIESEL DEPOSIT ACCUMULATION. The NHTSA number is: NHTSA: #24V957. There were absolutely zero (0) warning signs that alerted me that this was an issue before the engine failed. No alerts or warning lamps were illuminated on the truck before it failed. All i got was a letter in the mail stating that the engine could fail due to this components and that there is no known solution to fixing the problem. This issue caused my engine to fail while I was driving to work. There are issues with the truck still that were directly caused by this issue that the warranty will not cover INCLUDING this recalled component that has no available solution. I have a 2 month old son and a wife that rely on me having this truck. I have risked the safety of my family, and others on the roads, unknowingly by operating this truck on the roads. I am asking that Ford Motor Company be held Liable for all damages to my truck, and the repurchase of the truck for full price. This is unacceptable from a company as big as Ford Motor Company.
Known issue identified with this particular make, model and year truck in 2021; rough shifting, wrench light illuminating, failure to shift gears appropriately, stuck in certain gears risk of stalling, stopping, unable to shift down appropriately inspected by dealer and mechanics Ford document shows planetary needle bearing inside ring gear assembly generates contamination back in 2021/2022; unable to confirm fix was performed on this vehicle
Recall is 9 months old and still no remedy available. Unable to use truck on platforms such as Turo because of the safety risk. No update from Ford, no dealer has a remedy.
Bushing in CDF drum has moved causing failure to transmission. This appears to be a common issue. When this occurred truck would not engage in certain gears at slow turns and stops causing lack of acceleration creating a hazard merging in traffic.

My truck lost power on the Highway. Had to coast down the off-ramp and ended up blocking a turning lane when the engine failed to start back up. Called a someone to tow me back to my house and parked it where it’s been there for months since Ford has not yet issued a solution to the recall.
I have a 2020 F250 with the 10r140 transmission and the cdf clutch has went bad. My truck only has 67,000 miles on it. Ford is saying there is not a recall on my vehicle.

When shifting into drive the truck will lurch forward, a very hard shift. It also does the same thing in reverse. Several times the if my foot was not pressing very hard on the brake when shifting into drive or reverse the truck would lurch forward several feet. It there was an obstruction or person in front of the truck it would have put them at risk of being hit. While driving on cruise control it is very slow to shift and will skip multiple gears when shifting down when going up a hill. Sometimes also going downhill. This can cause the truck to slow down rapidly without a brake indicator which could cause a rear end collision if there is someone following closely. The truck is only 4.5yrs old and has 60,597miles. Symptoms started about 3-4months earlier when truck was well under 60,000 miles however I was unable to get it to the dealer until 60,597 which puts the truck out of warranty. The dealer was able to reproduce the issues and performed a code reset as well as a reprogram and the issue was not resolved. Dealer tore down the transmission and said one of the clutch packs in the transmission has failed along with several other parts. It is now requiring a full rebuild or replacement. There were no warning lights, alarms or messages. Date below is approximately when symptoms started occurring. I do not yet have my vehicle back so do not have the full report from the dealer. I will submit when I receive my vehicle back.

Manufacturer Recall Number22S22 NHTSA Recall Number22V256 For the past three years, I have been trying to get Gullo Ford in Conroe, TX to perform the recall repair mentioned above on my vehicle. Multiple times I have tried to call or visit the the dealership in person to schedule the repair. Every time I am told that they either do not have any openings and that they are booked for the full year, or do not have the parts to perform the recall fix. I am then told that they will contact me to schedule an appointment to perform the recall, however, each time I am never contacted back. To make matters worse, for maintenance that I paid out of pocket during this time frame, they gladly perform the work needed with no push back or delays. I am trying to determine what options I have at this point to ensure my vehicle recall is performed as I'm afraid it will eventually cause safety issues for me and my family.
The collar on the transmission degrades around 105-130k miles on the new 10r140. Upon driving on the highway i completely lost power upon gear transitions and paused acceleration. After weeks of constant power loss i ended up completely losing 10th gear while hauling a trailer. While shifting from park to drive the entire truck would have a major jolt and jump forward. No warning lights came on during any of the events, even after an entire gear was lost. The mechanic had this happen to him while driving it and had to completely replace the entire transmission at 117k miles. This was an extremely dangerous event while at highway speeds losing power. This is also somewhat of a well know problem (certainly with the 1/2 ton version of this same transmission). This should be recalled.
Truck lunges forward when at stop light, in drive and foot on the brake. Almost rear ended another driver. Did this several times. Also, when merging on highway and try to pick up speed the truck bogs down and hesitates almost got into two accidents because of this. Also loud clunking and banging on start up and when idling.

THis vehicle was purchased new from Ray Varner Ford, CLinton TN. Ford issued a Safety REcall notice for insulating material contacting the driveshaft. I took this vehicle to Varner who said they inspected it but found no defect. Last year, the vehicle was seen by the Ford Dealer in St Augustine FL, who told me the Safety Recall had not been addressed. When I explained that Varner had (at least claimed to have)_ inspected it, the Rep said "if so , they didnt enter it into the computer system." I have contacted Ford who essentially ignored the matter.

While driving at various speeds the transmission/powertrain has jerking shifting, loss of power, inability to increase speed, hesitates in speed, hard shifting, clunking noises. It hesitates from 4th to 5th gear, hesitates from 9th to 10th gear, and will drop from 10th gear straight down as low as 4th gear with the RPMs of the engine going dangerously high.

The transmission shifts hard both up and down. There was a Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 21B03, for which I never received. I contacted Ford and was told that since the program had expired there was nothing they could do. However, this is a known issue that Ford has admitted. This is a safety hazard because the transmission jumps around to various gears. If a vehicle is following and the transmission chooses a gear that is lower than appropriate, the tires will lock until the appropriate speed is reached for that gear.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the transmission was shifting hard, and the vehicle was jerking. The failure recurred intermittently while the contact waited for the recall repair. The contact was notified of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V256000 (Power Train) and the recall was repaired; however, the dealer notified the contact that the valve body in the transmission was failing. The failure recurred after the contact came to a stop, and the vehicle shifted hard from tenth gear to first gear. The maintenance required message was displayed. The vehicle was restarted, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the valve body was replaced; however, the vehicle was diagnosed with a clutch pack failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
Mileage: 105,000
The transmission went out at 115000 miles. There is metal all in the pan and damaged the valve body. After valve body replaced the transmission still would not go into gear correctly and its an internal failure known to occur in the 10-speed 2020 10r140. This needs to be a recall.
Delayed shifting are not shifting at all they reset the transmission numerous times but still having the same issue. It’s all part of the adaptive learning transmission system that Ford has.
BUSHING SLIDING DOWN THE CDF CLUTCH HUB CAUSING FLUID PRESSURE TO BLEED BY ON SEALING RING CAUSING MULTIPLY/POTENTIAL PROBLEMS. VECHILE WAS INSPECTED BY FORD AFTER GOING IN FOR A RECALL THAT WAS ALREADY ON THE TRANSMITION DUE TO THE PLANETARY 4 ASSEMBLY AND THIS PROBLEM WAS FOUND. THE RECALL DIDN'T FAIL THIS PART DID AND PUT DEBRIS THROUGHOUT THE TRANSMITION. WHEN TAKEN IN, IT HAD A HARD SHIFT WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PUTTING IT IN GEAR. TRUCK HAS 98,500 MILES, BUT HAD BEEN DOING THIS FOR ABOUT 5 TO 6 MONTHS. FORD REQUIRED US TO DROP OF THE TRUCK FOR 4 TO 6 WEEKS BEFORE THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. WE COULDN'T MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL.
The truck slips out of gear for no reason, suffers very hard shifts causing the truck to jerk, and skips gears making it impossible to drive safely. Also, I lost power on the freeway several times and the truck would up shift and down shift erratically causing issues maintaining speed in traffic. I took the truck to the Ford dealer and was told I needed a new transmission. Ford has issued a recall for the Diesel truck with this transmission but refuses to repair other trucks with the same faulty transmission. This truck costs almost $60,000 new, was built in January 2020 with a faulty and dangerous transmission but ford is refusing to help their customers.
Transmission failed after 106k miles, incurring $7k of repair costs. The failure caused the vehicle to seriously hesitate and could have resulted in an unexpected slow down while driving. There was no warning ahead of time outside slight hesitation on accelerating which my auto repair shop determined was spark plug related. Then suddenly when driving my son home from a friends house the check engine light came on and hesitation was significant on 12/23/23. There are several bulletins regarding the 10 speed transmission in Ford Trucks and Expeditions, I've owned several Ford Trucks in the past and never had a transmission fail after 100k miles, conveniently after the warranty. These trucks should go 150-200k before having major mechanical issues. Ford will not recognize the issue and do the right thing ie: a full recall.

You are driving and when the transmission goes to change gears it has like a dead spot in it an hesitates sometimes a couple seconds sometimes a little longer but it could cause you yo get rear ended then it will kick in real rough and go . There are recalls on the ford trucks transmission but not for my year of truck but its the same transmission the 10 speed and its doing the exact say thing as the complaints in the recall. I took it up around two months after i bought it and they told me this is how these trucks shift that is not correct at all . My warranty has just ran out and ford does not want to stand behind it. They should be made to cover any truck with this transmission in it just not certain trucks .
About a year after I purchased the truck, the transmission started shifting extremely hard on occasion making a loud bang and the truck lunges on the shift. The truck shifts so hard on occasions that it sounds like it could explode. Transmission failure could cause numerous safety issues for myself, passengers and other drivers; flying parts sudden stop and/or loss of control while driving to mention a few. I have mentioned the shifting problem on at least two occasions when the truck has been at a Ford dealership for regular maintenance but I was told it not shift hard for them and that nothing is wrong with it. I am 71 years old and worked on vehicles all my life and the occasional extremely hard shifting is not normal and is an indicator to me that something is not right. No warning lights come on prior to, during or after the hard shift to my knowledge. I have read numerous complaints by other F250 owners, recalls to repair Gen 1 trannys and in a lot of instances the Gen1 transmission was replaced with Gen 2. I would prefer a “new” transmission. Thank you.

Transmission locks rear wheels when it shifts 3rd to 4th gear nearly caused accident. Cannot get parts to repair for 6 months or more. Can on get a rebuild for $5500. Plus labor. I see hundreds of complaints on this transmission not good for an $85.000 truck VERY UNSAFE
Transmission stuck in 7th gear three times. Transmission failed and is not fixable. Transmission has to be replaced. Ford has several recalls on the transmission but my truck doesn’t fall under the VIN recall list.

Transmission shifts into gear very harsh. While driving accelerator “gas pedal” stops working. Almost hit by other automobiles while leaving intersections or make turns do to sudden loss of power.
This vehicle was a 2 year old used one owner truck purchased from a Ford dealership. The dealership repaired an issue with the transmission which was based on harsh engagement when putting the truck in gear forwards and reverse. 2 months after receiving the truck and being repaired, the issue is happening again. There is a service bulletin and ford is aware of the issue but is not currently doing anything about it. This is a defective transmission and poses a safety risk. The lurch is so hard that you have put all your weight on the brake pedal to put it in gear and hope nothing or no person is in front or behind the truck and the truck happens to lurch enough to cause damage or bodily harm. Contacted the ford dealership and they want to pull the transmission to find the issue but all parts and new transmission are on back order with no availability date. They need to do this in order to reach out to ford. However, they have a current truck that has been sitting in the shop for 6 months with no available parts. Called ford corporate and they are not willing to work with me unless the truck is in the shop. My only two options right now are to drive the truck and hope the transmission does not lock up on the highway due to a failure or let a truck that I am making payments on sit in the shop for an unknown amount of time. Ford is forcing me into continuing to drive the truck as is with the potential risk of a transmission completely breaking at anytime on the highway.

The components in questions is transmission. My sister had borrowed my truck. She put the truck in park and walked back inside to grab an item. Her dog ran out of the house and at that moment she realized the truck was rolling forward. Luckily they was a passenger in the passenger seat that was quick to act and climbed over the middle console and pressed on the brake. There is a video of the insistent. The passenger then confirmed the truck was In park and moved the selector to reverse then park then reverse and park again. Please note the truck was on relatively flat ground. Not a huge incline hill. The truck could have killed the dog or even ran over my sister in her pursuit to get her dog away from the truck. They problem was attempted to be recreated at the moment of the incident but wasn’t retractable at the time. I will be checking it every time I drive the truck from hear on. No one was hurt so a report wasn’t filed with the police nor was it taken to the dealer for inspection. There was no warning lights illuminated at the time. However The gear selector did show park. I’m unable to upload the video just segments of the video. There is a full video.
While driving and coming to stop two times the transmission downshifted rough causing the wrench light to come on saying powertrain/ four-wheel drive fault. Had to have the vehicle towed to my home and make appointment to have vehicle looked at the next week. I have read other forums and many people have been stating the same exact thing has happened to them in the 17+ year super duty’s and ford has been secretly fixing the issue when customers bring vehicle in for oil changes or service. I also read that the transmission doing this causes metal shavings to end up in the fluid and clog lines. I feel this is a severe issue if I would have been towing, it would have caused an accident.

The contact's husband owns a 2020 Ford F-250. The contact stated while her husband was at a stop sign, the transmission seized in 2nd gear and the vehicle failed to respond while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact's husband stated that the check engine warning light illuminated and "wrench" symbol was displayed on the instrument panel. On another occasion, the transmission seized in 7th gear and the vehicle was unable to make it up an overpass. The vehicle inadvertently started to roll back down the overpass. The contact's husband also had alerts on the Ford Pass monitoring tool and received a “failure with PCM and 2nd gear bypassing during cycle" alerts on his cell phone. Going down road cruise set in a 4 lane heavy traffic my truck dies like a light comes on and cars are bumper to bumper I’m trying to pull over my children are in the vehicle they go to crying scared finally I got half way off the road and got out and with few good peoples help pushed it out of the road I switched on and off the truck I could hear the pump near the tank making all kinds of noises I new then my fuel pump had went out
Transmission will not shift and sends you into high rpms just for you to let out and eventually have to stop or put in neutral to sort of reset shifting. It also will, out of nowhere, not move when you hit accelerator. This happened to me several times pulling into traffic. Hit the accelerator to go only to have enough to get you in traffic and no more acceleration. A delay for up to 3-5 seconds. This was the most dangerous aspect of the truck. The other dangerous aspect due to transmission is that when putting in gear the truck would slam you forward. If you didn't have a firm foot on brake you would be slamming into whatever is in front of you. When I say form foot, I mean [XXX] near standing in it. It is in ford shop currently. Not sure what to do with this truck after I get it back. Been in shop 3 weeks without any update to what is wrong. Severe hesitation when accelerating from a crawl. There is a definite issue with either the 10 speed trans or the throttle.
On numerous occasions when trying to accelerate to merge into traffic, the throttle does not respond to the request for multiple seconds, then power is returned and truck lunges. This has caused merging traffic to not understand my intention and they overcompensate. This also happens when trying to overcome another vehicle, which could lead to inability and raises risk of not having enough anticipated lead time to overcome other vehicle.
MOTOR HAS A NKOCKING TAPPING SOUND LIKE AND OLD SCHOOL TYPE WRITER AND GETS LOUD AT TIMES WHEN IDELING AND SOME TIME REALLY LOUD ANFTER DRIVING IT FO RW WHLLE, (DIESEL ENGINE DOESN'T SOUND LIKE THAT),FORD ENGINEERING AT FACTORY KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT REFUSES TO ALLOW DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR IT AND REPLACE THE PARTS. TRANSMISSION HAD SNECOR AND VALVE BODY GO OUT CAUSED TRANSMISSION TO LOCK UP IN 10TH GEAR AND STALLING OUT. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE PARTS WITH NEW ONES, BU TDID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND NOW STALLES AND SLIPPES WHEN SHIFTING GEARS, OR SOMETIMES SHIFTS SO HARD IT SHAKES THE TRUCK (F250 DIESEL). HAS A GRINDING NOISE WHEN DOWN SHIFTING FROM 5,4,3 GEARS. WHEN DRIVINING THE TRUCK AND GO TO PASS AROUND ANOTHER VEHICLE IS SLIPS GEARS ARE STALLES DOWN UNTIL IT CAN CATCH ITS GEAR TO GO HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 6,500 MILES ON IT AND WAS PURCHASED AUGUST 26, 2020 AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE ISSUES AND PROBLEMS. MOST OF ALL THE FACTORY ENGINEERS SHOULD NOT DENY THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX AND REPLACE WHAT IS WRONG AND CAUUSING THE LOUND AND UPNOGCHIS KNOCKING TICKING SOUND EVEN AFTER DOING A BLACK BOX FLIGHT RECORDER TO DETERMINE WHERE THE PROBLEM IS COMING FROM. THEY SAID TO KEEP DRIVING UNTIL ENOUGH COMPLAINTS COM IN TO HAVE A RECALL SENT OUR ARE UNTIL IT BRAKES AND GOES OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO EVERYONE ON THE ROAD AND COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE HARM TO INISANT PEOPLE, SUCH AS MYSELF, MY FAMILY, AND OTHERS OUT ON THE ROAD. PLEASE HAVE THIS LOOKED INTO AND HELP GET IT TAKEN CARE OF.

VEHICLE DEMONSTRATES REPEATABLE UNCOMMANDED ACCELERATION WHEN SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. ALSO DEMONSTRATES UNCOMMANDED ACCELERATION WHEN ENGINE BRAKING ENGAGES. OCCASIONALLY VEHICLE OPERATES AT A UNCOMMANDED HIGH IDLE OF 1200-1500 RPM VS THE NORMAL 600. MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN SLOW MANEUVERING SUCH AS IN A PARKING LOT OR OTHER TIGHT SPACE. IT HAS HAPPENED EVER SINCE NEW AND IT HAS 5100 MILES ON IT NOW. PURCHASING DEALER SAID IT WAS NORMAL. OTHERS ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE IN FORUMS ONLINE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE STARTS HIS TRUCK THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE SWITCHED GEARS, THE TRANSITION WAS ROUGH. THERE WERE SOME TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD REMAIN STUCK IN A CERTAIN GEAR AND THEN HAVE A DELAY IN SHIFTING THUS PUTTING A STRAIN ON THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN THE CONTACT USED THE VEHICLE TO TOW THE ISSUE WAS EVEN WORSE. THE DEALER (GENE MESSER FORD LUBBOCK 6000 WEST 19TH, LUBBOCK, TX 79407 (806) 793-2727) STATED THAT ISSUE MAY BE WITH THE PCM AND PTM. THEY WERE GOING TO CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND GET BACK WITH THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT TRIED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER BUT THE CALL DISCONNECTED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED UNREPAIRED. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE CAN BE DRIVEN FOR NOW BUT NOT TO TOW ANYTHING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,900.
