Truck has 46,000 miles on it. While driving and reaching the speed of 55mph the truck stayed violently shaking, causing me to reduce speed to steady the truck. This has happened on more than one occasion, and seems to be getting worse. The truck was manufactured at the Kentucky plant in December of 2019.

As I was driving on the freeway at 65 mph the vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. I slowed my speed to 55 mph and it finally stopped. I attempted to return to 65 mph again and it started shaking even worse. I pulled off at the next exit examined the truck and it looked fine. I just drove it home at 50 mph. No warning lights or maintenance lights came on.
Pulling my 5th wheel home to California today from Williams AZ on [XXX]. The truck has just over 53k miles. At least 8 times today my wife and I experienced the death wobble traveling on [XXX]. These episodes were difficult to overcome as we were in freeway traffic. The front end shook so violently that it took everything I had to maintain my lane, slow down and not become involved in an accident or wreck. I have called Ford customer service and have received a case #. As well I have an appt Wednesday at the dealership. Experienced “the death wobble” going 68 mph on a highway after hitting a small transition.
Traveling on the highway when I would hit rough road or potholes the front end would shake violently enough to scare me, like the front end was loose. I did not lose control, but it was at the point where I thought I could. I have never felt anything like it. After doing some research and finding many others with the same issue enough that the common name for it was the Ford "Death Wobble"! My Pickup is an F250 2020 with 60000 miles on it should not have that problem this soon. But in my research, I found that it was happening as low as 20,000 miles and that the repairs would only hold for about 25,000 miles. To verify I took it into the local Ford dealership who did a diagnostic check up on it and said the drag links were shot. They said it was a common thing and that they replace several a week to the tune of about $1500 plus dollars.
While driving highway speed (approx. 65 MPH) on a paved Farm Market Road, the front end of the truck started vibrating so bad that I temporarily lost control of the truck. The vibration and bucking of the front end of the truck pulled me into the other lane but fortunately there was no oncoming traffic. I reduced my speed and pulled to the shoulder and examined my tires and undercarriage. Upon examination everything appeared to be intact and no damage was observed. There were no previous warnings or indications of an issue prior to the incident. I have since driven the truck approx.100 miles with no issues. This truck is well maintained and had no previous issues!

This vehicle has the death wabble. It has happened at least 5 times in the last 6 to 8 months. The last incident the vehicle shook so bad we thought it was going to turn over. Only happens at higher speeds and whenever you hit a bump or.pothole in the road.
My 2020 Ford F-250 4x4, has 40,000. Has developed the "Death Wobble". I went over a expansion joint on a bridge at 55mph and the front wheels started violently shaking, it would not stop until I slowed to 5 mph. My mechanic replaced both the inner and outer drag links, although they were not very worn. After they were replaced the "Death Wobble" returned when I drove over another expansion joint. The mechanic again replaced both inner and outer drag links. I went to a Ford dealer and talked to the service writer and was told that Ford knows about this "Death Wobble" but their not going to fix-it. There are lots of complaints about this, and this needs to be fixed. When a truck gets into this "Death Wobble" it could very easily cause a accident. So far I have spent over $1000.00 in repairs with no guarantee that this problem is fixed!
Went over a bump and the car started shaking violently. Research has shown this is called the Ford Death wobble. I had to stop on a busy street to get it to stop, which is dangerous
Pulling 5th wheel going down hill at 60 mph pump brakes to maintain speed and steering wheel began to vibrate. Did not stop until speed was reduced to around 45 mph.
I have been experiencing a light oscillation of the steering wheel when hitting expansion joints and bumps in the road at highway speeds (50-75 MPH). Today when I hit the same expansion joint/ bump, my steering wheel oscillated violently, the truck shook violently and the brakes were not very effective in slowing the truck. This lasted about 3 to 5 seconds. I was travelling about 70 MPH when this occurred and I did not see the speed where it stopped as I was a bit shaken up.
While traveling down highway 65-70 mph. after hitting bumps in road my truck started shaking& shimmering wildly. While holding on to steering strongly, slowed down, pulled over and it finally quit. I heard of earlier Ford trucks having problems like this. They called it the Death Wobble!!! I thought problem had been solved by Ford, but this has happend two times to me recently. Have not heard of anyone with newer trucks having problem like this. My truck is 2020 Ford F-250. What do I need to do to solve problem. Thanks
This is the 6th time this has happened. All driving speeds from 60-75 mph. Will hit a random bump in the road and the front end will go in to a severe death wobble. When this happens you cannot steer the vehicle, or stop it easily. The only way to make it stop is to get slowed down to 20 mph or so. We have had it at the dealership we’ve purchased it from several times with no fix yet. It has become scary to drive for both me and my wife. Ford should have a recall out before it kills anybody.
I just purchased this 2020 F250 on 10/21/21 with 39000 miles. While driving the vehicle on a Ft Worth toll road at 70 mph, below posted speed limit of 75, truck and steering wheel began to shake violently. Luckily there was light traffic that kept me from causing an accident before I could get it stopped. Took vehicle to Ford dealer and was told my vin # is not included in trucks that Ford has been fixing. An internet search of "F250 death wobble" will show how widespread this problem is. Ford knows there is a problem but will not do anything to solve it.
High speed wobble when driving over un even pavement such as a transition from asphalt to concrete. if turning slightly while driving 60 - 70 miles/hr and you run over slightly rough pavement, it will start to wobble violently and you have to slow to 25 or 30 miles/hr for it to stop. when you are on a multi lane highway and on the inside lane(s) you have to navigate to the shoulder to slow down and it is very dangerous. there is many internet articles reflecting this exact situation and it is a design defect with the F250. I would hope a recall would be issued to require Ford to fix this problem before someone is killed. Right now the only option available is to buy and after market stabilizer to try and minimize this issue. thanks
Vehicle shakes violently when driving at highway speed 65-70 mph even slower, have to stop almost completely on highways! Very dangerous, as soon front tires hit any imperfections on the road even small pot hole or open joints on the road. This is a pretty known problem on previous trucks '17-'18 problem still on 2020 trucks my start doing it at 39500 miles. Hoping Ford make a recall for this just like they did with the 2018 f250 that I used to have.
My steering wheel is out of orientation by 5 to 10 degrees. there is a shimming in the steering wheel. This is accentuated when i change lanes on the freeway and go over the lane deliniators. If i am on a smooth road on the freeway, my vehicle tracks perfectly staight without and pressure on the steering wheel(hands off, no other vihicles near me. I have less than 15,000 miles. Check mu service record. It is stellar. No accidents. No off road driving. Move my fifth wheel tralir 20 feet to a new space only. Never had the fifth wheel on the road yet. My fifth wheel is an ultra lite design for a F-150. There was a lawsuit for the Death Wobble for the 2019 and earlier models. How many adults and children have to die before it shows up on your radar screen. What are the algorithems for this to be a unhidden issue. Shame on you.
MY BRAND NEW 2020 F250 LARIAT WAS DELIVERED TO MY HOME YESTERDAY. IT WAS DRIVEN ROUGHLY 80 MILES FROM DENVER TO COLORADO SPRINGS BY THE SALESMAN WHO SOLD IT TO ME, BUT IS OTHERWISE UNUSED. I NOTICED LAST NIGHT THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE RUNNING TO THE LEFT REAR WHEEL APPEARS TO BE TOO LONG. AS A RESULT IT HAS A LOOP IN IT THAT IS POSITIONED BETWEEN THE MAIN LEAF SPRINGS AND A SECONDARY SPRING THAT I BELIEVE ENGAGES WHEN THE TRUCK IS FULLY LOADED. IT'S PRETTY OBVIOUS THAT UNDER A FULL LOAD, THE BRAKE CABLE IS AT RISK OF BEING PINCHED BY THE SPRINGS. I HAVE LITTLE DOUBT THAT THE DEALER WILL FIX THIS FOR ME WHEN I ASK, BUT AM ALARMED THAT OTHER SIMILAR TRUCKS MAY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
