THE TRUCK STARTED TO STALL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET UP TO ROAD SPEED OF 55 MPH. THE TRUCK WAS LOSING SPEED, JERKING AND BLACK SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS OF ENGINE FAILURE TO WARN ME OF ANY PROBLEMS, IE. ENGINE LIGHT. THIS OCCURRED ON MORE THAN ONCE, CAUSING POTENTIAL TRAFFIC HAZARD. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START. HE NOTICED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY OCCURRED IN THE MORNING. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE MANUFACTURER NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO ADVISED HIM THAT THE FUEL INJECTION AND OIL PRESSURE SENSORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F-350 SUPER DUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR EVERY TIME THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE. MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED A USED 2004 FORD F350 HEAVY DUTY TRUCK IN SUMMER OF 2006. I WOULD SAY WITHIN THE FIRST 6-8 MONTHS OF OWNING THE TRUCK WE STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRUCK CUTTING OUT (NO POWER). WE HAD THE TRUCK INTO THE SHOP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THEY CHANGED OUT A FEW HOSES AND DID A FEW OTHER THINGS BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE TRUCK WAS ORIGINALLY UNDER WARRANTY WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED AND NOW THEY WON'T BACK THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO CUT OUT (LOSE POWER). THE TRUCK LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ALMOST EVERY OTHER TIME WE DRIVE THE TRUCK. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE CROSSED MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND HAD THE TRUCK LOSE POWER AND ALMOST GOT HIT FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC GOING 65-70MPH. THE DEFECT OF THIS TRUCK IS GOING TO TAKE MINE OR MY HUSBANDS LIFE ALONG WITH INNOCENT PASSENGERS. IT'S A DANGER TO HAVE ON THE ROAD BUT FORD CAN'T FIND THE DEFECT AND WON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. ENGINE DIES AND/OR LOOSES POWER. HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES. THE FOLLOWING ITEMS HAVE BEEN CHANGED:FICM, , ENGINE OIL (THOUGHT PROBLEM DUE TO OIL PUMP), FUEL FILTERS, CAM SENSOR SWITCH, CLEANED EGR VALVE AND ALL PASSAGES, REPLACED INJECTOR PRESSURE CONTROLLER, REPLACED EGR VALVE. LAST TRIP TO DEALER WAS MAY 3, 2010. NO PROBLEMS UNTIL TODAY WHEN PULLING OUT OF A SIDE ROAD ONTO MAIN ROAD ENGINE DIED WITH VEHICLE BLOCKING BOTH LANES OF TRAFFIC-PUSH TIME--ACCIDENT AVOIDED ONLY BECAUSE NO TRAFFIC. THE BASIC PROBLEM WITH TRYING TO GET THIS VEHICLE REPAIRED IS NO CODES ARE SET. AFTER MONTHS OF FAILS, IT SET A "BAD FICM" CODE, CHANGED FICM, NO CHANGE IN PROBLEM, REPEATED TRIPS TO DEALER, FINALLY GET A "BAD CAM SENSOR" CODE, CHANGED CAM SENSOR, NO CHANGE IN PROBLEM. DEALER LOOKED AT EGR, PARAMETERS DETERMINED TO BE OUT OF LIMITS, CLEANED EGR & ALL ASSOCIATED PASSAGES, RAN FINE FOR 10 DAYS, FAILED 3 DAYS IN A ROW, OLD DEALER OUT OF BUSINESS, NEW DEALER CHANGED BOTH IPC & EGR AT MY DIRECTION SINCE THEY REPORTED TO ME BOTH ITEMS COULD CAUSE THE PROBLEM, RAN FINE FROM MAY 3 TO MAY 8, 2010. I HAVE A FORD F-350 WITH A 6.0 DIESEL ENGINE. THIS ENGINE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. WHICH CREATES A HAZARD FOR ALL WHO OWN ONE AND TO THE PUBLIC . THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE COMPLAINED TO YOU ABOUT THIS ENGINE. WHY AREN'T YOU PEOPLE DOING SOMETHING WITH FORD AND INTERNATIONAL. TWO TIMES MY TRUCK HAS DUMPED HALF THE OIL OUT GOING DOWN THE ROAD. ONCE WHEN THE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP BLEW A SEAL AND AGAIN WHEN THE OIL COOLER AND EGR COOLER BUSTED. IF THIS TRUCK IS DOING IT THEN ALL THE OTHER 6.0 DIESEL TRUCKS ON THE ROAD ARE TOO. IF YOU GOOGLE THE OIL COOLERS AND EGR COOLERS YOU WILL SEE JUST HOW BIG THE PROBLEM IS. IF THIS IS NOT A HAZARD THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. IF THEY SOLD SAY, 300,000 OF THESE TRUCKS A YEAR FROM 2003 TO 2007 , THAT'S 5 YEARS TIMES 300,000 TIMES 5 QUARTS (LESS THAN HALF, TRUCK HOLDS 15 QTS)5 X 300,000 X 5 = 7,500,000 QTS OF POSSIBLE OIL SPILLED OR 1,875,000 GALLONS OF OIL SPILLED IF THESE TRUCKS ONLY SPILL 5 QUARTS OVER THEIR LIFE TIME. THE LAST PROBLEM I HAD STARTED OUT LIKE THE EGR COOLER THEN I DEVELOPED AND OIL LOSE THE WHEN I ASK THE DIESEL MECH. I WAS TOLD THE IT SOUNDED LIKE A HEAD GASKET. THAT SAME DIESEL MECH. INFORMED ME THAT IN THE LAST 5 YEARS HE HIMSELF HAD TO REPAIR LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF 6.0 FORD DIESELS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. MY PROBLEM IS THAT THE PROBLEMS I HAD STARTED AFTER THE WARRANTY WAS OUT AND I WAS UNABLE TO GET AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE 6.0 ENGINE DUE TO WHAT THE WARRANTY AGENT DESCRIBED AS A MAJOR ENGINE DEVELOPMENT FLAW BY THE 6.0 DESIGNERS. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A NEARBY REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE EGR COOLER SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE AND COULD HAVE BLOWN A HEAD GASKET. THE DEALER WILL NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 125,000.

SINCE THIS PURCHASE I HAVE HAD REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH THE TURBOCHARGER SYSTEM ON THIS TRUCK (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, EGR VALVE,EEC &EGR , MASS AIR FLO SENSOR, HOSES BLOWING OFF TURBO CHARGER) I HAVE TAKEN THIS TRUCK TO BE REPAIRED MANY TIMES AT MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES ( I WAS ON A VACATION, AND HAD CONTINUAL PROBLEMS WITH THE HOSES BLOWING OFF THE TURBOCHARGER) AT THE LAST REPAIR ATTEMPT I WAS TOLD THAT FORD MOTOR CO. WAS REPLACING TURBOCHARGERS ON THESE TRUCKS. I HAD THE TURBOCHARGER REPLACED AND HAD THE TRUCK ABOUT 1 WEEK WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN , I RETURNED THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER REPAIR SHOP(300.00 IN FEES AGAIN!) WHEN THE TRUCK WAS RETURNED TO ME I TOOK A TRIP, APPROXIMATELY 400 MILES AND AGAIN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. EACH TIME THIS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE HOSES CONNECTING THE TURBOCHARGER TO THE ENGINE MANIFOLD BLOWING OFF, THE TRUCK LOOSES POWER STRANDING ME ON THE ROAD. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE HOSES ON MY OWN TO CONTINUE DRIVING THIS TRUCK. THE LAST INCIDENT I HAD WITH THIS PROBLEM I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A LOGGING TRUCK WHILE TRYING TO DIRECT TRAFFIC AROUND MY DISABLED TRUCK, THE TRUCKER WHO ALMOST HIT ME CALLED THE OREGON STATE POLICE AND I WAS TOLD TO REMOVE THE TRUCK FROM THE HIGHWAY OR I WOULD RECEIVE A CITATION FOR HAVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE . I HAVE TRIED TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM WITH FORD MOTOR CO. HE STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED 7-8 TIMES FOR THE SAME OIL LEAK. *KB THE MANUFACTURER STATED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS OIL SEEPAGE, THERE WAS NO SAFETY OR DIESEL ENGINE DURABILITY ISSUE INVOLVED. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE OIL LEAK WAS NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER'S OPINION WAS THAT THE OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE OIL PAN, HOWEVER, THE CONSUMER DISAGREED WITH THEIR FINDINGS. I HAVE A 2004 F-350 TURBO DIESEL 6.0 L. TRUCK. THE TRUCK SURGES WHEN YOU DRIVE IT. IT CUTS OUT. IT DIES ON THE ROAD WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING IT. WE HAVE MADE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS TO RICH FORD IN EDGEWOOD AND ALBUQUERQUE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT FOUR TIMES. THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT TO RICH FORD IN ALBUQUERQUE WAS BECAUSE I WAS WAITING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK WAS SURGING FORWARD INTO TRAFFIC. I WAS VERY SCARED AS WAS MY TEN YEAR OLD SON. I HAD MY FOOT PRESSED AS HARD AS I COULD ON THE BREAK AND THAT WAS NOT STOPPING THE TRUCK FROM MOVING FORWARD. I DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP, RICH FORD OF ALBUQUERQUE, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT SERVICE MY VEHICLE THAT DAY. I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT TWO WEEKS. I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK HOME. I AM AFRAID FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. THIS IS A DANGEROUS VEHICLE AND FORD IS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WE PURCHASED 4, 2004 F-350 FORD DIESEL 6.0 LITER AMBULANCE CONVERSIONS. ALL 4 VEHICLES ARE HAVING REOCCURRING ENGINE FAILURES. THE PROBLEMS BEGAN ON SOME OF THE VEHICLES AT LOW MILEAGE. THE DEALER CONTINUES TO "PATCH" THE ENGINE PROBLEM. I HAVE COMMUNICATED WITH SEVERAL OTHER AMBULANCE SERVICES AND HAVE FOUND THAT THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE FAILURE OF THESE ENGINES WHILE TRANSPORTING CRITICAL PATIENTS CREATS A VERY RISKY AND DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR THE PATIENTS AND A HUGH LIABILITY ISSUE FOR THE PARAMEDICS AND OUR COMPANY.LAST NIGHT ANOTHER ENGINE FAILED WHILE TRANSPORTING AN 18 YEAR OLD WITH A BROKEN NECK TO A HIGHER LEVEL HOSPITAL. THE DELIVERY OF THE PATIENT WAS DELAYED UNNECESSARILY BECAUSE ANOTHER AMBULANCE SERVICE HAD TO BE CALLED AND WAITED ON TO GET TO MY CREW TO TRANSPORT THE PATIENT. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EACH TIME I SENT ONE OF THESE AMBULANCES ON A TRIP. NOT ONLY IS THE PATIENT PLACED IN DANGER, BUT MY COMPANY IS QUICKLY GETTING AN UNFAVORABLY REPUTATION BECAUSE OF THESE BREAKDOWNS. THIS IS COSTING US BUSINESS. MY PARAMEDICS ARE REFUSING TO DRIVE THESE VEHICLES BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF LIABILITY THAT THEY MAY HAVE KNOWING THE MECHANICAL HISTORY OF THESE VEHICLES. ALL OF THE TRUCKS ARE STILL UNDER THE 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. FORD HAS SHOWN NO INTEREST IN HELPING US WITH THIS ISSUE. EVEN IF THE ENGINES MAKE IT TO 100,000 MILES , I KNOW THAT THEY WILL NOT LAST MUCH PAST THAT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. WE ARE PAYING GOOD MONEY OUT EACH MONTH FOR VEHICLES THAT WILL NOT DO THE JOB . I HAVE A 2004 FORD F350 AND A F250 BOTH HAVE THE 6.0L DIESEL ENGINE. THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL INJECTORS AND TURBO AND POSSIBLY THE FUEL PUMP ACCORDING TO THE DEALER. BOTH TRUCKS LOAD UP AND START TO RUN VERY ROUGHT THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE SITUATION IS TO FLOOR THE THROTTLE INTILL IT CLEARS UP PRODUCING AN EXTREMELY AMOUNT OF BLACK SMOG. SEVERAL TIMES THE TRUCKS HAVE STALLED WHILE DRIVING LEAVING US WITHOUT POWER BRAKES AND STEERING. RET URN TRIPS TO THE NEAREST DEALER HAVE NOT BEEN A GOOD EXPERINCE THEY TELL US THAT BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY 6.0L DIESELS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM FORD IS SLAPPING THEM ON THIER HANDS FOR FIXING THESE PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVIABILITY WARRENTY. I LEFT THE DEALER NOT SURE WHERE TO TURN THE TRUCKS ARE NOT FIXED AND THIS CONDITIONS DO CREATE A HAZARD. THE DEALER EVEN TOLD ME THEY HAD A WHOLE FLEET OF SCHOOL BUSES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THEY WERE FIXING SO THE PROBLEM IS NOT JUST MY PROBLEM THEY KNOW OF THE PROBLEM AND EVEN KNOW OF THE SOLUTION WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING BUT IT APPEARS FORD IS HOLDING THE DEALERS HOSTAGE AND LEAVING THE CUSTOMERS WITH A HAZARDOUS VECHICLE. THERE HAVE BEEN APPROXIMATELY 15 INCIDENTAS WERE THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED, WHILE BEING DRIVEN OR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR TURN. THE VEHICLEHAS TWO METHODS OF STALLING - THE FIRST METHOD IS BE IDLING VERY ROUGH - AS IF MISS FIRING ON A CYLINDER/ TIMING ISSUES WHERE IT BLOWS BLACK SMOKE. THE SECOND METHOD IS IF YOU ARE STOPPED WITH YOUR FOOT HOPEFULLY ON THE BRAKE - THE VEHICLE WILL REV UP AND LURCH FORWARD - IF ON THE BRAKE IT WILL SOMETIMES THEN STALL. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE SHOP AT LEAST 4 TIMES - WITH MULTIPLE INCIDENTS PER VISIT, THE SHOP HAD REPLACED THE EGR VALVE AND HAD REPROGRAMMED THE PCM EVERYTIME IN THE SHOP. WHICH TAKES ME BACK TO LOUSY FUEL ECONOMY AND HAS NOT YET FIXED THE PROBLEM. I AM NOT HAPPY.
