CPSC: 2005 F-350. CONSUMER STATED THE 6.0 DIESEL MOTOR IS NO LONGER WORKING DUE TO A BUILDUP IN THE GAS TANK, OR OIL SYSTEM. *SS THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS FIXED, IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTORS, THE TURBO CHARGER WAS REPLACED FOUR TIMES, THE HEAD GASKETS, AND THE REAR END RINGS HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING AND THE ENGINE COULD NO LONGER BE STARTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V270000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: WIRING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,368 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 175,000. UPDATED 8/21/12 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP, FRONT END SEALS, END RINGS, FUEL INJECTORS, TURBO CHARGER, HEAD GASKETS AND EGR VALVE WERE REPALCED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPIING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN REVERSE. THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED.

WHILE PULLING A 30 FOOT TRAVEL TRAILER TUCK SUDDENLY DIED CAUSING IMMEDIATE LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKING POWER ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. HAD IT TOWED TO A DIESEL SHOP WHO SCANNED TO FIND IT TO BE THE HIGH PRESSURE OIL AND FUEL PUMPS. THEY SAID THEY HAVE DONE REPEATED REPAIRS ON THE SAME ENGINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS IN THE PAST. ISSUE 1 - FUEL SPILLING OUT OF COOLANT SYSTEM. FUEL SPILLING ONTO EXHAUST COMPONENTS AND COATING ENGINE AND UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE. CREATED A FIRE HAZARD. CREATED AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH IF A FIRE HAD STARTED.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, FOUR FUEL INJECTORS MALFUNCTIONED WHICH CAUSED THE EXHAUST TO EMIT SMOKE AND THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-350. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE DIESEL ENGINE OVERHEATED WITH SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED AFTER WAITING UNTIL THE ENGINE COOLED DOWN. THE VEHICLE RESUMED OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE OIL COOLER AND EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MECHANIC ADVISED REPLACEMENT OF THE OIL PUMP AND FUEL INJECTORS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 160,200.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTION MODULE AND RELAY SWITCH FAILED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DRIVE MORE THAN 10 MPH WITHOUT BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. THE CONTACT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD A HIGH PRESSURE OIL LEAK, WHICH LED TO THE FAILURE OF THE RELAY SWITCH THIS REPAIR WAS RESOLVED UNDER WARRANTY. THE FUEL INJECTORS WERE ALSO FAULTY AND WERE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY THREE TIMES. A MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FAILURES WOULD CONTINUE. . THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF HER VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 99,970.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F350. THE MOTOR IN THE VEHICLE CONSTANTLY FAILS. WHILE TOWING A FIFTH WHEEL AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE TURBO CHARGER BLEW OUT. THE DEALER INSTALLED A NEW TURBO CHARGER UNDER WARRANTY. APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE MOTOR OVERHEATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TESTED THE MOTOR AND REPLACED TWO HEADS, THE OIL COOLER, AND THE EGR VALVE. THE MECHANIC ADVISED HIM TO NOT USE STRETCH VOLTS TO PREVENT THE FAILURE AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT NON STRETCH VOLTS WOULD INCREASE THE CHANCES OF THE FAILURE NOT RECURRING BECAUSE IT WAS A BETTER PRODUCT THAN WHAT THE MANUFACTURER USED. THE CONTACT DID NOT WANT TO PAY ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR AN AFTERMARKET PRODUCT BECAUSE HE BELIEVED THAT THE PRODUCTS USED BY THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD WORK PROPERLY. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THE VEHICLE WORKED WELL FOR LESS THEN A MONTH. THE VEHICLE IS NOT CURRENTLY WORKING. HE ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER TO THE MOTOR. THE VEHICLE WILL BE RETURNED TO THE SHOP FOR MORE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

2005 F-350 WITH OVERHEATING PROBLEMS CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED CUSTOMER WANTS FORD TO PAY FOR REPAIRS**CC THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE FROM DAY ONE. IT WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 25 DAYS FOR AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED, HOWEVER 90 DAYS LATER THE CONSUMER STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE REPLACEMENT ENGINE. THE AIR TAKE TO THE TURBO WOULD BLOW OFF AND LEAVE THE VEHICLE WITH NO POWER, 2 EGR VALVES WERE REPLACED. FINALLY, THE ENGINE LOCKED UP. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW WHERE THERE IS TOO MUCH HEAT WITH THE TURBO ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO UPON EXAMINATION COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, AND DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE.
