My truck is been having a death wobble for years now. It's scary, I changed tires suspension and I still have the issue.

Jun 23, 2025

My truck started "The Death Wobble" a few years ago. I have replaced shocks, tires and ball joints. The problem recently became almost undriveable on the highway as any small bump at a legal (70 MPH) triggered 5 instances on a trip to and from a destination that was 70 miles away via the interstate. I have ordered additional parts based on internet research to try to fix this issue, however in my research it is clear the is a COMMON issue. Why is this allowed to continue?

Mar 31, 2025

Severe death wobble with speeds over 50. Steering to left at that speed and vehicle shakes severely. Going interstate speed, vehicle almost comes off pavement and shakes all over. Brought in numerous times for issue and never rectified.

Aug 19, 2024

Truck experienced death wobble at posted speed limit and steering could not be controlled until I could slow vehicle. Earlier the death wobble happened and took it to the ford dealer and the service reported nothing wrong. I replaced the tie rods steering damper installed new shocks and springs and cannot be corrected

I have experienced what is called the ford death wobble on multiple occasions however yesterday it happened 3 different times while traveling with my [XXX] nephew and elderly mother. It terrified both as it almost caused an accident yesterday. This is not acceptable to pay $53 thousand for a vehicle that you feel unsafe to drive! Death wobble

May 14, 2024

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75 MPH, the vehicle began shaking violently. The vehicle was slowed down to approximately 40 MPH and the shaking ceased. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

I was driving on the freeway today at approximately 70mph when I hit a slight bump. The front end began shaking violently forcing me to brake and slow to approximately 30mph before it stopped. I believe this type of incident is referred to as a "Death Wobble". Fortunately, I wasn't injured nor was anyone else and traffic was only moderately busy. I checked the front suspension and couldn't find any issues. The truck has 104,000 mi on it and is well maintained.

Jan 30, 2024

The death wobble if I’m on the highway it’ll start wobbling to the point of no control. I have replaced shocks and joints tires pretty much everything but it still does it. I looked it up and was told to report here.

Jan 21, 2024

Front end suspension has on several occasions began to violently shake. It appears that the driver side front wheel begins to bounce rapidly after hitting large or small defects within the road surface. This occurs only when driving on highway type roads where posted speeds typically exceed 55. (Texas has some posted speeds of 80 mph and I drive this area often) Numerous times during this occurrence I have had little to no control of my truck's direction of travel. The only solution to date that has worked is to slow down to a near stop while still in the middle of high speed traffic. When this "death wobble" occurs, I have zero control of my vehicle as far as steering is concerned. We no longer allow our children to ride in the truck with us as this has become a dangerous driving environment. Additionally the violence of this wobble aggravates an pre-existing medical issue within my neck and head. (Veteran with (2) TBI's and severe nerve damage in my neck) The dealership has confirmed the issue and suggested I replace the front suspension and my tires. (My tires still had 20K+ miles left on them) The vehicle has been taken to a dealer for the vast majority of it's service and maintenance. I have mentioned the "death wobble" on several occasions' and even agreed to have the entire front end suspension along with all four tires be replaced. This seemed to have fixed the issue in the short term, but it has returned with considerably more violent shaking than before. I asked the dealer to repair again, but they refused without additional payments, as the repair is now more than 90 days old. No warnings are given prior to this violent shaking other than the initial jolt. Even with a warning, traveling at 60-75 mph along with confined traffic the chances of becoming involved in a possible life-threatening accident become extremely high.

I just had new breaks and rotors, shocks and some small front end parts replaced. Alignment also completed. While driving south on I-17 down from sunset point at 75 mph the speed limit, I went over a small bump or hole on the road and the death wobble started and violently began to wobnble from passenger side to driver side, or jumping or boucing 6" to 12". items in the door storage and on the dash where tossed about. I began pumping the breaks until the wobble stopped at about 35 mph. I have owned four f 350 one ton trucks with over 500,000 miles driven. this is the first time I have had this happen. I was asked by another f350 owner if I had ever had this happen before. I now know WHY IT IS CALLED THE DEATH WOBBLE. I cant believe I made it through this. There a BIG PROBLEM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Dec 14, 2023

when i hit a bump or pot hole the truck front end goes out of control at speeds of about 50 to 70 mostly making it shimmy out of control.i have replaced most everything on the front end at my cost and it still does it.what is scary is that you dont know when it is going to happen.this truck is a 350 ford super duty ford with 92464 miles.i understand there is a Defect on the front end of these trucks.this is a big truck to hold when it starts.Someone is going to get killed or kill someone else if they dont get this taken care of and im makeing notice of this problem.

Dec 1, 2023

I lost control of the vehicle on the highway due to a "Death Wobble" in the steering system. It threw me into the next lane and I was lucky to survive. This happened on an interstate highway at about 55 MPH. It included violent shaking in the steering after passing over a minor bump in the road and came without warning. Ford replaced the steering damper under warranty. I still get this condition but not as bad as the original. Ford tells me everything looks fine but I am totally uncomfortable with this situation.

While driving on Louisiana’s poorly maintained I20 at @70 mph, we hit a bump & our 2015 F350 began violently shaking. We almost lost control, but managed to shift from left lane to shoulder in heavy traffic. Inspected tires & saw nothing amiss. Continued on trip back to TX & it occurred 2 more times whenever we hit a bump. Freaked us out & we were terrified each time we hit a bump, but drove under the posted speed limit & made it the rest of the way home without incident. Called our Ford Dealer 1st thing Tuesday morning Sep 5th & were told they could not schedule us for an appointment til Sep 18th!! Located a mechanic who was familiar with this “death wobble” and he had parts ordered & stabilizer bar installed on Sep 13th. Have not driven in LA yet to confirm this fixed problem but mechanic has a Ford that did same thing & it fixed his truck.

Sep 7, 2023

Truck began to shake violently and did not stop shaking until I slowed to 20 mph. Safety risk of not being able to control the vehicle and having to slow on busy highway. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer. The components have not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. No warnings or other symptoms.

Jul 10, 2023

The vehicle goes into a violent shaking of the front end and steering wheel (Ford death wobble). It has happened many times in the last two or so years. It can start at any time when the truck is traveling over 60 MPH but it is usually associated with a bump in the road. It usually stops when I slow to 40-45 MPH. I replaced the track bar ball joint and the steering stabilizer shock and the truck didn't shake for several months but now the problem has returned. When the problem started the truck was probably under 100,000 miles and now has a bit over 130,0000.

Dec 10, 2022

Was driving on highway on December 10, 2020 and when entered bridge doing approximately 70 mph experienced extremely violent frontend shaking (death wobble). Had to pull to shoulder of highway and stop to reduce it. This occurred again during same trip under similar conditions. Thought something on frontend had broken, but all seemed to be alright upon visual inspection. Plan to take into Ford dealership on December 12 to have it inspected. Truck has 118,000 miles on it. This is a very dangerous situation as it occurs at higher speeds and could result in accident.

Nov 10, 2022

I was going approximately 70mph on the interstate and hit a bump and the vehicle began to shake violently and I had to make an emergency stop in the middle of the interstate to get it back under control! I’ve been told this is the death wobble. The vehicle has approximately 125,000 miles. This was very serious!

Sep 23, 2022

I have a 2015 F350 and I have experienced the "Death Wobble" I was hauling my 5th wheel RV and I was going 60 MPH and it felt like my entire front axel was getting ready to fall off my truck. I have my family of 4 in the vehicle. Both of my sons ages 8 and 3 years of age, my wife and myself. It was by far the scariest this I have ever experienced. Ford knows about the problem and still has not issued a recall. I am wanting to file a class action lawsuit.

Aug 19, 2022

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle experienced the death wobble and began to violently shake and vibrate causing the driver to nearly lose control of the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the tie rods, drag link, steering components, and performed a wheel alignment to repair the failure; however, two days after retrieving the vehicle the failure reoccurred. The contact indicated that the failure occurred at speeds exceeding 50 MPH. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.

When I go over 45 mile an hour it has the death wobble. Have almost had a few accidents due to this. What is the fix for this??

Jul 22, 2022

When traveling over 50mph, when I go over an uneven area of road the vehicles front end vibrates violently (AKA Death Wobble). I cannot utilize the brakes to slow the vehicle, I have to let the vehicle slow on its own down to about 40-45mph before the vehicle settles down. This issue has been going on since late last year. Two visits to the dealership have failed to correct the issue. Research on the internet reveals this is a known problem by Ford, yet they refuse to issue a recall.

May 18, 2022

when I get up in speed or drive over a bump in the road, the steering wheel shakes vigorously and it feels like the whole truck shakes. I have to slow down to get it to stop. very scary.

May 12, 2022

3 times in the past year my 2015 F-350 truck started to wobble and shake increasingly after a slight bump at approximately 55 MPH. Once it started, it continued to increase instability and control of the vehicle. I immediately slowed and pulled over carefully to a stop and got out to examine the vehicle. There wasn’t anything I could find externally that I hit that would cause the vehicle to react the way it did. I was able to continue driving without a repeat until several weeks later. This has happened 3 times in the past year.

Apr 27, 2022

I have had two incidents of the "death wobble" violent shaking of the from end. Thought a wheel was coming off. Pulled off the road and checked wheels. All seemed OK and I continued to drive home without incident. The first incident occurred in summer of 2021 and ford dealer said they installed a damper. Cost was $315. Now in April of 2022 I experienced another, more violent death wobble. I have another appointment with the dealer and I assume they will "band aid" again. I think Ford should recall and fix their problem before someone gets hurt. I pull a 10,000 5th wheeler and am very concerned about out safety at this point. I will upload copy of last year's "band aid" fix. Please advise. [XXX] PA INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Apr 18, 2022

Over 5 times my truck become uncontrollable at highway speeds; 60mph or greater. A seam, groove, joint or other minor imperfection in the road instigates a violent shaking from the front of the truck. The only recourse is to jam on the brakes, at which the shaking subsides and control returns at approximately below 40 mph. As this normally happens at highway speeds, the loss and control and spontaneous braking required takes adjacent drivers by surprise very nearly causes an accident. I have owned this truck since it was new and purchase from Tommy Vaughn Ford. I regularly have the vehicle serviced at Hellman Ford in Stafford, TX. I've returned to Helfman 3 times since October 2019 with this problem. Initially they replaced some components which did not help, secondly I was told I needed new tires and that was the cause which I did purchase the next day which seemed to remedy the issue for 10,000 miles, and the most recent visit after the latest incident I was told they could not recreate the shaking, could not find anything wrong and no action was taken. I have not driven the truck in the two months since the last incident and is available for inspection if needed. Episodes do not result in any sort of warning light on the dash.

Feb 11, 2022

If I incur a bump while traveling 60 mph, the front end will violently shake and rattle. The only way to stop this condition is to come to a stop. The vehicle feels totally out of control when this occurs. It is also very dangerous coming to a stop on a highway or interstate.

Dec 30, 2021

A little over 2 years ago my truck started the death wobble. I didn't know at first what it was but after internet searches I quickly came across the so called "death wobble". I have taken it in to the dealer multiple times They have changed a few parts when taking it in, at my own expense, but never have fixed the problem. It is progressively getting worse and is very dangerous to drive. Not just for me but for the public as well. When the truck starts to do the death wobble there is not much you can do but hold on. Ford should be responsible for fixing the problem with there own.

Dec 23, 2021

Every time I hit any sort of bump on the road (I.e the the lip on a highway overpass approach, or any standard road lip or bump) I lose complete control of my truck, it violently shakes and I have to come to a complete stop to get rid of it, which is dangerous when in traffic, I’ve owned the truck for a year and a half and have never been able to fix the problem, the local ford dealership I purchased the truck from said it’s not a listed recall and they can do nothing about it, there is no diagnosable problem that anyone can figure out, I’ve been told these year trucks have this problem, I’ve lost control multiple time with myself and my girlfriend in the vehicle and barely recovered from having many major accidents and being a danger to others driving on the same road as me.

Dec 3, 2021

I have replaced every defective part on front end of my truck. Got it aligned every single time. Brand new tires and different tire pressures and it still does it. I still have a steering oscillation(death wobble) over 50+ mph.

Nov 10, 2021

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle experienced the "death wobble" after driving over a bump in the roadway. The contact stated that the steering wheel began to violently shake, and he lost control of the vehicle. The contact took his foot off the accelerator pedal until the shaking stopped at 20 MPH and the vehicle resumed normal driving. No warning light illuminated. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 74,400.

Nov 5, 2021

While driving several time at highway speed about 50-55mph I hit a bump and my truck goes into a violent shake. The steering wheel shakes and about lose control of the very heavy truck. I have asked the dealer to look at it next week. They said it was known as the "Death Wobble". My truck was shaking so bad I thought something had broke and I was going to wreak. I ask if this was under a recall the dealer said no. It maybe the steering or can purchase a special bracing for the truck. I shouldn't have to correct a manufacture defect.

Oct 21, 2021

The front end of my truck shakes violently when I hit bumps (death wobble)

Oct 6, 2021

Driving at highway speed going over a bridge and went over a expansion joint an out of no where the entire front end started to violently shake. I had to apply brakes which because it was shaking so bad the abs kicked in and started the wheels to skid. I was sure that the front wheels were coming off the truck. Still continues and ford has the truck now. No Warnings.

Sep 26, 2021

We have experienced the “death wobble” 3 times this last weekend during our travels while we were pulling our trailer loaded with horses

Aug 25, 2021

Multiple times: Front end violent shake pulling steering wheel from hands and loosing control at 70 mph. Slammed on brakes just before I hit the center concrete barrier on highway. Driving over a manhole cover on road at 30 mph sent front end again into a built shake causing loss of steering and into oncoming traffic till was able to brake and stop vehicle. Drive great till next bump in road. 11 diesel techs cannot figure out what is wrong! This truck is going to kill someone, what is wrong with it???? Replaced tie rods, track bars, ball joints, wheel bearing, steering dampener, shocks, multiple alignments, caster bolts, ... $4800... in parts and labor so far and continues the exact same death wobble trap!

Aug 11, 2021

At speeds over 50 miles per hour going over bumps the steering wheel shakes violently. Also occurs during hard breaking.

Aug 11, 2021

Vehicle wobbles violently above approximately 50mph and when go over slight bump or uneven road surface. Have to slow down rapidly almost to a stop for the violent wobbling to stop. Also wobbles slightly at low speed. This has happened multiple times now. Took it in to the dealer the first time it happened, while it was still under warranty, but the dealer said it was not a big deal and they did not have time to fix it.

Jul 28, 2021

While driving on the freeway, exiting onto the off ramp, the rut in the road caused my whole front end to shake uncontrollably. I could barely keep the vehicle on the road and almost collided with the sound wall adjacent to the off ramp. The severe shaking lasts until my vehicles slows significantly, as in the 15-20 mph range. Which is less than ideal on a major freeway!!!!! This is the fourth time this has happened in the past few weeks. Research on the internet revealed to me that this apparently is a known problem with this particular vehicle model. I finally was wise enough to take it to my local Ford dealership, wherein a mechanic told me that it is a known problem by Ford, which the dealerships cover only when one is brought in with issues. Not shocking to me however, the Ford dealership just told me that the suspension issues was caused by "wear" and it is out of my pocket to repair. It has 35,000 miles on it! Is this indeed a wide spread issue? My wife will no longer drive with me, or allow my kids in the vehicle, because she was in the truck on two of the occasions and she told me she would like to live!!!!!

Jun 24, 2021

This truck is extremely dangerous. It has the infamous Ford Death Wobble. When you go across a slight transition or bump at 55-70 mph, the truck goes into a violent wobble in the steering that wont stop until you slow down to 30 or so mph. Ive had several parts replaced on the front end and nothing works. From online forums, Ive recently learned that Ford is ignoring the problem. Please take action because I almost had 2 collisions traveling on the interstate

Jun 3, 2021

After hitting very small bumps is the road my truck shook so violently that I could not control it. I had my two little girls in the back and they where very scared. After taking my truck to my mechanic I was made aware of this being a big issue with Ford trucks, apparently it is called the "Death Wobble". I completely understand why they call it that. My truck has under 100,000 miles and when this first happened my truck only had around 60k miles on it. Ford has not maintenance recommendations to replace suspension parts at 60k miles. There should not be any suspension issues on a vehicle with only 60k miles. This is VERY DANGEROUS. Not only can the vehicle not be controlled but this happens on highways and interstates and can cause a huge accident. From time to time I tow a 5th wheel RV that weighs 13,452 when it is empty. Does somebody need to die because nobody wants to do anything about this very serious issue? I am reporting this now because I previously did not know things like this could be reported to a Government agency.

WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND HIT A INCONSISTENT PLACE IN THE PAVEMENT THE VEHICLE GETS A DEATH WOBBLE. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY BACK AND FORTH AND THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK BOUNCES ON THE GROUND. WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE WOBBLE GETS WORSE SO THE VEHICLE HAS TO SLOW DOWN ON ITS OWN WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE SHAKING WILL STOP AROUND 23-28 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN 6 DIFFERENT TIMES AND THE VEHICLE IS VERY HARD TO KEEP ON THE ROAD WHILE IT IS HAPPENING. THIS IS DEFINITELY AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I HAVE SLOWLY BEEN HAVING AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC REPLACING FRONT END PARTS TO TRY AND FIX THE PROBLEM WITH NO SUCCESS. I TRY TO AVOID DRIVING THE TRUCK DUE TO THIS ISSUE WHICH HAS HAPPENED FOR THE LAST YEAR. I HAVE VIDEOS ON MY DASH CAMERA WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE LAST TIME IT ACTUALLY KNOCKED THE CAMERA OFF THE WINDOW. I KNOW ALOT OF FORD TRUCK PEOPLE AND EVERYONE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.

WHEN TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE IF ONE OF THE FRONT TIRES HITS A BUMP THE WHOLE FRONT END SHAKES TERRIBLY. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT IS TO SLOW WAY DOWN BELOW 50 MPH WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS DANGEROUS WHEN OTHER VEHICLES ARE TRAVELING UP TO 20 MPH FASTER.

Mileage: 99,000

Apr 4, 2021

WHEN YOU GET PAST 48 MILES PER HOUR THE FRONT END/STEER SHAKES NOTICEABLY. ALSO, WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP/HOLE IN THE ROAD IT SHAKES SO BAD WE HAVE TO PULL OVER NOW. IN CALLING TO GET IT FIXED THE FORD REPAIRMAN KNEW WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE WE SAID ANYTHING, BUT STATED THERE WAS NO RECALL ON IT?? ITS DANGEROUS!

AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE FRONT END BEGINS TO OSCULATE OR BOUNCE FROM RIGHT WHEEL TO LEFT WHEEL IN A RAPID MOTION COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE". THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES WITHOUT MAKING THE PROBLEM ANY BETTER. POSSIBLY IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AFTER THE VISITS. THE WOBBLE SEVERELY DIMINISHES CONTROL OF THE 9500LB VEHICLE AND HAS CAUSED ME TO DODGE INTO BARRICADED CONSTRUCTION ZONES AMONG OTHER DANGEROUS MANEUVERS, TO GAIN CONTROL. I HAVE POSTED VIDEOS ON YOU TUBE SHOWING 6 INSTANCES (I HAVE MANY MORE) OF THE WOBBLE AND BELONG TO A RAPIDLY GROWING GROUP OF THOUSANDS OF FORD OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE TYPICALLY TAKES PLACE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN UN-EVEN PAVEMENT IS DRIVEN OVER AND THE LEFT & RIGHT WHEEL DO NOT HIT THE BUMP AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. EXAMPLES WOULD BE A BRIDGE TRANSITION AT A 20-30^ ANGLE OR JUST DILAPIDATED TOP LAYER OF ASPHALT. ESPECIALLY PRONE TO ACTIVATION WHEN THE ROAD IS CURVING LEFT AND THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL HITS A SMALL BUMP.

Mileage: 100,000

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE REAR VIOLENTLY BOUNCES OVER 50 MPH. IF THE VEHICLE HITS A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AT HIGH SPEED; ESPECIALLY ON THE EXPRESSWAY. I HAVE HIT A POTHOLE ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, ESPECIALLY ON A CURVE IN THE ROAD. IF THE ROAD HAS BUMPS OR DIPS THE TRUCK BOUNCES SO VIOLENTLY I ALMOST LOSE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK.

WHILE DRIVING ON 4 LANE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, I ENCOUNTERED THE DEATH WOBBLE. I IMMEDIATELY HAD TO BRAKE AS THERE WAS AN 18 WHEELER COMING UP ON THE PASSING LANE. THIS HAPPENED TWICE ON THIS STRETCH OF HIGHWAY. AFTER READING ALL THE ISSUES REGARDING THE DEATH WOBBLE, ITS TIME FORD DOES A RECALL BEFORE THERE IS A DEATH AND FORD GETS A LAWSUIT.

MY TRUCK IS EXPERIENCING THE "DEATH WOBBLE" WITH ONLY 60K MILES ON IT. WHEN I HIT A BUMP GOING MORE THEN 50 MPH THE FRONT WHEEL SHAKE VIOLENTLY UNTIL I SLOW DOWN. I AM UNABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL.

Feb 26, 2021

WHEN ENCOUNTERING ROUGH PAVEMENT WHILE TRAVELING OVER 50 MILES PER HOUR THE FRONT SUSPENSION DEVELOPS A MAJOR AND UNCONTROLLABLE VIBRATION. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES BACK AND FORTH WHILE THE TRUCK FEELS LIKE IT'S COMING APART. KEEPING THE VEHICLE IN A LANE IS VERY DIFFICULT AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE SHAKING TO STOP IS TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN TO BELOW 25 MILES PER HOUR. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 55,000 MILES ON IT. THIS FIRST OCCURRED IN OCTOBER OF 2020 WHILE MERGING ONTO AN INTERSTATE, THEN TWICE AGAIN IN JANUARY OF 2021. IN RESEARCHING THIS SYMPTOM I'VE READ ABOUT OTHER OWNERS WITH SIMILAR YEAR SUPER DUTY TRUCKS WITH THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOM. IT IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE DEATH WOBBLE. A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH EPIC FORD IN EVERETT WASHINGTON ON FEBRUARY 4TH, 2021 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE DEALER WHO I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM. THEIR TECH COULD NOT REPLICATE THE SYMPTOM SO I RETURNED TO THE DEALER ON FEBRUARY 9TH 2021 AND TOOK THE TECH FOR A DRIVE AND WAS ABLE TO RECREATE THE FAILURE. ON FEBRUARY 24TH 2021 THE DEALER CALLED TO SAY THE TRUCK WAS READY TO PICK UP BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIX THE DEATH WOBBLE AND SAID I SHOULD REPLACE MY AFTER MARKET DUAL STEERING STABILIZER. I WHOLLY DISAGREE THAT THIS IS AT THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM AS THE AFTERMARKET STEERING STABILIZER IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND SHOULD ONLY REDUCE THE OCCURRENCE OF FRONT END WOBBLE, NOT CAUSE IT. RELUCTANTLY, I AGREED TO REPLACE THIS PART AND PICKED OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER ON FEBRUARY 25TH 2021. THERE WAS A GENERAL LACK OF CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY, MY FAMILY'S SAFETY AND FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS ON THE ROAD. I WILL PURSUE A REPAIR OUTSIDE OF THE DEALER'S SERVICE NETWORK. FROM MY RESEARCH, THIS IS FAR TOO COMMON OF AN ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES, PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED AND FORD SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING ABOUT THE FAILURES BEFORE SOMEONE LOOSES THEIR LIFE.

VEHICLE IS A 2015 FORD F350 DUALLY WITH 36, 875 MILES ON IT. VEHICLE STARTS TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AT APPROXIMATELY 30-40 MILES PER HOUR ON A CITY STREET. WOBBLE GETS EXCESSIVELY WORSE AT HIGHER SPEEDS SUCH AS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. AFTER NOTICING THE PROBLEM I STOPPED DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THIS WEEK 4 OCT, I TOOK VEHICLE TO OURISMAN FORD IN ALEXANDRIA, VA TO HAVE VEHICLE CHECKED OUT. THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING DRAG LINK INNER AND OUTER, DRAG LINK TRACK BARD AND JOINT AND STEERING SHOCK DAMPNER. GOT SECOND OPINION FROM MALLOY FORD OF ANANDALE, VA, THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING ALL OF THE ABOVE BUT ALSO RECOMMENDED REPLACING BOTH LOWER TIE RODS AND AN ALIGNMENT. THE SERVICE DIRECTOR AT MALLOY FORD JOHN PITTS IS THE PERSON THAT INFORMED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN OCCURENCE IN THESE VEHICLES AND CALLED IT A "DEATH WOBBLE". COSTS FOR THESE REPAIRS IS ROUGHLY $2100. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO FORD CUSTOMER CARE CONCERING THIS ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, THAT THIS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. SPOKE WITH CUSTOMER CARE MANAGER AMANDA ON 7 OCT AND SHE STATED ALTHOUGH SHE UNDERSTOOD MY CONCERNS THAT IT WAS MY PROBLEM AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. SHE STATED THIS ISSUE COULD BE CAUSED FROM DRIVING ON ROUGH ROADS AND HITTING POT HOLES. I EXPLAINED THAT THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN TAKEN OFF ROAD AND I BEARLY DRIVE IT, HINCE ONLY 36, 875 MILES IN 5 YEARS. SHE STATED THERE WAS NOTHING TO BE DONE ON HER END AND TOLD ME TO HAVE A NICE DAY.

MY TRUCK HAS 103,000 MILES ON IT AND IT HAS STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING WHEN I HIT EVEN MINOR BUMPS OR TRANSITIONS/SEAMS IN ROAD, FROM PAVEMENT/BRIDGES/OVERPASSES. IT'S EXTREMELY HARD TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES RAPIDLY 4-6' BACK AND FORTH WHILE SHAKING. I'M AFRAID OF LOSING CONTROL OR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IT WILL NOT STOP SHAKING UNTIL I SLOW DOWN TO 35 MPH, AND THAT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT IN 75 MPH TRAFFIC, FROM CENTER LANES, AND VERY OFTEN THERE IS NO SHOULDER TO SLOW DOWN ONTO, WHEN I'M ON A BRIDGE OR TOP OF OVERPASS. IT HAS HAPPENED AT SPEEDS AS LOW AS 55 MPH, CAN BE TRIGGERED BY A POT HOLE, & ANY BUMPS IN THE PAVEMENT.THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR ANY ROAD OVER 55 MPH. IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME 6/21/20 AND HAS HAPPENED NOW EVERY SINGLE TIME WE DRIVE IT. I HAVE CAPTURED THIS HAPPENING ON VIDEOS TWICE NOW. TODAY IS 8/9/20 AND IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN 24 MILES TODAY. IF I DIE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I OBVIOUSLY WOULD NOT BE IN ABLE TO TELL ANYONE THAT THIS WAS ACTIVELY HAPPENING. THEY WOULD SAY I HAD 'FAILURE TO CONTROL VEHICLE'. I HAVE TAKEN TO SHOP AND HAD MULTIPLE SUSPENSION PARTS REPLACED AND IT'S STILL HAPPENING, ZERO IMPROVEMENT. NOW I'M TAKING IT BACK TO A MECHANIC TOMORROW TO SEE WHAT ELSE WE CAN DO. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT PAID FOR YET, IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY, AND I'M EXTREMELY SCARED TO EVEN DRIVE IT. THIS CANNOT BE CAPTURED IN A PICTURE, YOU NEED TO SEE THE 2 VIDEOS I TOOK OF THIS HAPPENING TODAY.

I HAVE A 2015 F350 WITH 24881 MILES ON IT. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE "DEATH WOBBLE" I HAVE READ ABOUT IN RECENT LAWSUIT NEWS ON THE FORD TRUCKS A HANDFUL OF TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY. THE TRUCK WILL START SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND I HAD TO SLOW DOWN DRASTICALLY TO GET IT TO STOP. I USE THIS TRUCK MAINLY TO TOW MY BOAT AND IS COMPLETELY IN STOCK FORM. THIS ISN'T SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE HAPPENING TO A 65K STICKER TRUCK WITH LOW MILES AND POSES A SERIOUS DANGER.

2015 FORD F-350 SUPER DUTY TRUCK. AT HIGHWAY SPEED, AFTER GOING OVER AN OVERPASS ON THE HIGHWAY, THE STEERING WHEEL AND WHOLE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. IT STOPPED AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN AND PULLING OFF THE HIGHWAY ONTO THE SHOULDER. IT DID IT TO ME AGAIN 4 MILES LATER. I WAS TOLD I EXPERIENCED WHAT'S KNOWN AS THE "FORD DEATH WOBBLE".

WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 65-70 MPH, I DROVE OVER AN OVERPASS TRANSITION ON I-69 IN HOUSTON, WHICH WAS THE EQUIVALENT OF A SMALL BUMP, AND THE TRUCK BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY. ALL LOOSE BELONGINGS IN THE TRUCK WERE SLUNG AROUND IN THE CAB AND EVENTUALLY LANDED ON THE FLOOR, INCLUDING THE DRIVER AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO CONTROL, AND OTHER VEHICLES CLEARED AWAY FROM ME. THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO KEEP WITHIN MY LANE, AND I SWERVED OUT OF CONTROL FROM ONE LANE TO ANOTHER. MY WIFE DROVE THE TRUCK ABOUT 3 DAYS LATER, AND A VERY SIMILAR EVENT OCCURRED AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 55 MPH ON A TEXAS HIGHWAY NORTH OF HOUSTON. SHE SAID THE TRUCK WAS VERY HARD TO CONTROL, AND SHE WAS VERY RATTLED DURING THE EVENT. AT WORK, WE HAVE MANY FOR SUPER DUTIES IN OUR FLEET, AND THE MAJORITY OF THOSE TRUCKS HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES, WITH LESS THAN 25K MILES ON THE NEW TRUCKS. WE HAVE ADDED DUAL STEERING DAMPERS TO THE FLEET TRUCKS AND HAVE NOT HAD AN ISSUE SINCE. FORD'S FIX FOR THE PROBLEM LASTED 2-3K MILES, AND THEN THE SAME PROBLEM RETURNED. THEY REPLACED THE STEERING DAMPER WITH AN OEM STEERING DAMPER. *TR

THE MOST COMMON TERM FOR MY PROBLEM IS CALLED A DEATH WOBBLE. I AM SPENT A LOT OF MONEY REPLACING PARTS TO FIX THE TRUCK ONLY TO LEARN THAT THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. TO DATE FORD HAS REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM OCCURS MOSTLY WHEN THE TRUCK IS BETWEEN 50 AND 70 MILES AN HOUR AND HITS A BUMP IN THE ROAD. MY TRUCK CURRENTLY HAS A HUNDRED AND FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND MILES ON IT, THE PROBLEM STARTED APPROXIMATELY AT 120000 ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO.

I OWN A 2015 F350 SUPERDUTY. I HAVE NOTICED HIGHWAY DRIVING AT 50 MPH OR HIGHER WHEN CROSSING OVER A TRANSITION IN THE ROAD THE FRONT END SUSPENSION/STEERING CAN GO INTO A VIOLENT SHIMMING THAT CAN ONLY BE OVERCOME BY A RAPID DEACCELERATION TO LESS ~30MPH. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES THAT THE SHIMMING IS SO VIOLENT ITS HAD TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. YESTERDAY, CROSSING OVER A BRIDE ON RT 222 SOUTH IN LANCASTER CO PENNA, THE TRUCK CROSSED A TRANSITION A THE END OF A BRIDGE. IT WAS ALL I COULD DO TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE OTHER CARS HAD TO SWERVE TO MISS HITTING ME AS MY TRUCK WAS IN THIS RESONANCE UNTIL I COULD GET IT UNDER CONTROL. THIS ONLY OCCURS SO FAR ABOVE 50MPH, BUT, IT IS MUCH MORE COMMON AT 65-70MPH. I AM TAKING THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER AGAIN FOR ANOTHER EVALUATION. THIS SITUATION DEVELOPED AT ~ 76,000 MILES. THE TRUCK HAS 92,000 MILES NOW. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION INTO THE EVENT ONLINE I WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT THIS HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS THE "FORD SUPERDUTY DEATH WOBBLE." I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS TERM AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE HAD THIS SITUATION ON QUITE A FEW FORD F250-F350 VEHICLES. I NO LONGER FEEL VERY SAFE DRIVING A $72,000 VEHICLE THAT IS KNOWN TO HAVE A DEATH WOBBLE, WHICH AS AN ENGINEER, WOULD APPEAR TO BE A DIRECT RESULT OF AN INADEQUATE DESIGN BY THE OEM. I BELIEVE WE NEED THE GOVERNMENTS HELP RESOLVING THIS SITUATION SINCE FORD DENIES THE EXISTENCE OF THIS COMMON SITUATION.

WHILE ACCELERATING TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY THIS MORNING I HIT A BUMP THIS CAUSED THE TRUCK TO START TO WOBBLE VIOLENTLY. I PUT ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW THE VEHICLE BUT IT CONTINUED TO WOBBLE UNTIL I PULLED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. IT NEARLY CAUSED A ACCIDENT. SCARED ME TO DEATH. I KNOW OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES!

I WAS TOWING A TRAILER ON A HWY 52 IN COLORADO WHEN I HIT A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY I LOST CONTROL AND WENT IN TOO THE OTHER LANE IT SHOOK UNTIL I CAME TO COMPLETE STOP. IT HAS DONE IT 5 TIMES SINCE THEN I HONESTY DON'T WANT TO DRIVE THE TRUCK ANY MORE. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 37K MILES ON IT AND NEW SHOCK AND STEERING DAMPER. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH ON THIS THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE CASES JUST LIKE MINE GOOGLE DEATH WOBBLE. SOME ONE IS GOING TO GET HURT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN.

2015 F350 4X4 6.7 WE TOW A 12K TRAILER GOOSENECK. THIS PROBLEM OCCURES LOADED AND UNLOADED. ANY BUMP OVER 50 MPH ON THE DRIVER TIRE WILL CAUSE A VIOLENT SHAKE THAT WILL PERSIST THOUGH ACCELERATION STEERING INPUTS AND BRAKING, SOFT OR HARD. ONLY SLOWING TO BELOW 45 SOMETIMES 35 WILL STOP THE SHAKING. DURING THE SHAKE STEERING IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE, AND ATTPETING TO KEEP STRAIGHT RESULTED IN TWISTING THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THUS FAR WE HAVE REPLACED STEERING STABALIZER. TRACK BAR, AND ASSOSIATED BUSHING AND BALL JOINT, TIRES, MULTIPLE ALIGNMENTS, SWAY BAR LINKS, BALLJOINTS, SHOCKS. EACH REPAIR MAKES THE PROBLEM SEEMINGLY BETTER FOR A TIME BUT WITHIN A WEEK IT RETURNS. WE ARE A DANGER ON THE ROAD AND HAVE SENSE STOPPED DRIVING UNTIL A HARD RESOLUTION IS FOUND.

WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS VEHICLE BEGINS TO BOUNCE. THE BOUNCE IS CLEARLY COMING FROM REAR END OF VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH INTO THE ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND OTHER YEAR HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND IS SOLVED BY A DAMPER ATTACHED TO THE TRAILER HITCH.

2015 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY, FULL SIZE BED. THIS TRUCK WILL BOUNCE LIKE CRAZY ON THE HIGHWAY IF IT IS CONCRETE, OR ASPHALT COVERED CONCRETE. IT STARTS ABOUT 60MPH AND IF I SPEED UP IT WILL GO AWAY AT ABOUT 75MPH. THIS BOUNCE IS VERY FRUSTRATING AND MAKES ME UPSET, MAD AND EMBARRASSED THAT SUCH A NICE TRUCK THAT COST SO MUCH MONEY WOULD HAVE THIS ISSUE. IT IS NOT JUST MY TRUCK, BY FAR THERE ARE MANY, MANY, MANY OF THEM WITH THIS ISSUE AND NOT LIMITED TO LATE OR EARLY MODEL TRUCKS. SEARCH GOOGLE FOR THIS ISSUE AND YOU WILL BE AS SURPRISED AS I WAS TO HOW MANY THERE ARE AND HOW LONG THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON!!! I HAVE REPLACED THE SHOCKS WITH BILSTEIN SHOCKS, ADDED 2" LEVELING KIT TO FRONT SPRINGS, REPLACED STEERING DAMPER SHOCK WITH BILSTEIN ALSO, CHANGED TIRES AND RIMS 3 DIFFERENT TIMES WITH NO CHANGE IN ISSUE. THE ONLY THING THAT CHANGED WITH THE NEW BILSTEIN SHOCKS WAS NOT GOOD EITHER- NOW WITH THE NEW SHOCKS ON THE TRUCK BOUNCES MORE AND SOONER WITH MY MEDIUM SIZED DUMP TRAILER CONNECTED. BEFORE THE SHOCK CHANGE, IF THERE WAS A LOAD IN THE BED OR TRAILER CONNECTED THERE WAS NO BOUNCE TO DEAL WITH. I LOVE THIS TRUCK AND HAVE SPENT LOTS OF MONEY ON MAKING IT LOOK GREAT, NOW I WANT IT TO RIDE AND DRIVE GREAT ALSO. I GOT A PRETTY GOOD DEAL ON THIS TRUCK LAST YEAR AT A CAR LOT, NOW I AM UNDERSTANDING WHY!!!! I AM SURE THIS TRUCK WAS TRADED IN AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS FROM THE DEALER TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND THEY COULD NOT. I FEEL LIKE FORD HAS REALLY LET US DOWN HERE, I HAVE OWNED MANY WORK TRUCKS AND VANS AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS.
