The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, it was discovered that the air pressure in all four tires were consistently decreasing; the contact also noticed corrosion around the rims and valve stems on each wheel. The low tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was driven to a dealer but not diagnosed; however, the contact was informed that the dealer would replace the current tires with new tires to monitor the failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact was constantly adding air to the tires before driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

In June 2024, I experienced serious sustained steering wheel oscillation to the point of having to stop the vehicle while traveling over 70 mph to regain control before proceeding on my way. I scheduled an appointment with my dealer (Woody Anderson Ford, Huntsville, AL) after July 4th weekend and was assigned an appointment date of August 9, 2024 at 10:00am. In May 2024, after traveling about 47 mph over a semi-diagonal railroad tracks on level pavement, the steering became violent but was recoverable after reducing speed to under 20 mph. This was the second instance. In March 2024, after transitioning across a section of highway in town at about +/- 45 mph, which the highway had appeared to have been poorly repaired my steering began to oscillate but I was able to recover with no concern. This was the first instance.
Steering suspension has been failing over and over for months. Several severe incidents while driving 70+ mph down the road. Complete loss of control of the vehicle, uncontrollable death wobbles. One incident put me in a ditch, while the others were near collisions. First incident - was no longer able to drive above 30mph without sever death wobble. After “repairs”, recreated the issue at 75 mph and I’m unable to drive safely above 35 mph. Ford has confirmed many parts needing replacement but will not take ownership in replacing them. First incident -$5,300. Second incident - nearly $2500. There were no warning lamps, messages, or any notification of failure prior to incident. The entire front end of these vehicles need to be recalled. There is a class action lawsuit for a reason. I’m unable to sell my truck, or drive it do to costly RECURRING repairs. I’m fearful for my life in my Ford.
Driving down i70 in Colorado and hit a section where there is concrete. One of the cracks in the concrete caused the steering wheel to vibrate uncontrollably until the speed dropped below 50 mph. During the incident braking made the vibration worse and it felt as though the front of the truck was bouncing at a rapid rate. Steering in any direction was nearly impossible. I have a service scheduled to look at this in a few weeks but until then I fear driving as it was a complete loss of control. This happened a few more times on the journey home and seems to be tied to bumps in the road when traveling over 55 mph. This incident happened without warning and did not cause any warning lights to appear. This truck has less than 15k miles on it so I was surprised it would behave this way.
I’ve experienced 3 nearly identical incidents: after driving over bumps in the road or uneven pavement, my F350 went into an uncontrolled wobble, violently shaking, causing total loss of steering control. In each case, the uncontrolled wobble only stopped after I slowed the vehicle to under 15 mph. Because these incidents occurred on major freeways with fast moving traffic, a significant danger was posed to me and my passengers and other drivers. After searching online resources, I read several similar instances of this happening to other F350/250 owners, aka “the death wobble.”
Death Wobble, the steering wheel shook violently. I could not control the vehicle and had to stop in the middle of the road to make it quit. This has happened before. It was serviced for this problem once.
My 2019 F-350 lariat power stroke 23,500 miles has experienced a shaking in the steering on the freeway multiple times previously, it seemed to happen when a bump or uneven part of the road was felt. The last time 1/11/23 it shook uncontrollably on the freeway until the truck was slowed to 20MPH. I had both hands tightly gripped on the steering wheel and could not control it- until the speed was reduced to 20 MPH. Other vehicles on the freeway had to avoid my truck as I had to lower the speed well below the minimum speed limit on the freeway which could have caused a crash. After consulting the dealer and another mechanic the term used for this condition is the death wobble. The truck is unsafe. It was brought in to the authorized Ford dealer in Wisconsin. They said there is a fix for this issue but it’s backordered and has been backordered for sometime. I asked the dealer for a date when I might see this part and was told it’s backordered with no expectation of a date for the part. The truck is not safe to drive. Now I have to pick it up from the dealer without a resolution- basically drive the unsafe truck home and park it until Ford can get me the part.
I have less then 40k on my 2019 f350 and I was driving home from work on August 24th on a back country road and all of a sudden my truck went into a complete shake as if I was going over rumble strips times 10... I was only going maybe 70km hr on dry/smooth road. I stopped the truck got out and looked at all my tires and nothing to be seen. Proceeded to head home and all was fine again. When this happened I had very little control of steering. This scares the absolute crap out of me as I haul horses all the time on the hwy's and if this was to happen doing higher speed hauling, I am scared of the outcome. I am a very experienced driver and hauling, driven all across Canada and the States hauling high end horses even in Europe. I am hoping a fix is in the very near future as if I was to lose my life or one of my animals life because of this... NOT GOOD for a anyone. thanks
bought this truck november 2019 since then have replaced rear out side wheels twice and front wheels once and now needs a new set on the front again the problem is the rims are rotting out around the valve stems i use this to haul my camper and its not safe if i constantly have to worry about getting a flat ! side note I am a ford certified senior master tech at the same dealer for 28 years
Several occurrences of violent sustained steering oscillation at high speeds, also known as death wobble. Front end steering components failing/worn out at 55k miles. Violent shaking of front end on interstate, little to no control of vehicle. The only way to get this frightening death wobble event to stop is to slow down to nearly a stop on the interstate which put driver and passenger at rick or being rear ended or causing another type of accident. Vehicle does not feel safe to drive, every bump or expansion joint in the road is a stress inducing concern when driving. Ford offering steering stabilizer replacement but identified that the truck needs tie rods and a new drag link as well to get this death wobble to stop. Ford should recall these components for safety reasons.
Rims crack around air stem. Airing up tires daily. Dealership welded 1 rim to stop wheel leak. We have a Dually truck 4 of the wheels cracked and leak. We fill tires with air daily.
Rims crack and fracture around base of air valve stem then lose air quickly going flat in minutes at high speed. This has happened multiple times, the Ford dealership welded the areas but over time they crack again and the for dealership welds them again. All but 1 of my 4 outside rims have this issue and it started with in the first 6 months of purchase. For will not replace the aluminum wheels only temporarily repair them.
While driving on freeway between 55 mph and 65 mph the truck shakes violently when driving over an uneven bridge transition or uneven bumps is highway. Impossible to control and had to pull over to stop. This has happened 3 times within a months time
While driving at highway speeds hit slight transition in road and vehicle steering shakes uncontrollably to the point of extreme danger. Slow down to a stop thinking blown out tire or something snapped in front end. No signs of physical damage. try to limp home find condition is no longer present. It has happened two more times since then with passengers in vehicle on busy roads. Extreme danger situation Ford Can not get it in for diagnosis for 2 weeks.
OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS OF TRAVEL - APPROXIMATELY 3000 MILES - THIS F350 EXPERIENCED A VIOLENT SHIMMY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (CRUISING BETWEEN 55 - 68MPH - MAX) SEVEN SEPARATE TIMES, WITH THE LAST 4 EVENTS OCCURRING 11/9/2021 IN IMMEDIATE SUCCESSION (WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF EACH OTHER) WHEN LEAVING KINGMAN AZ - HEADING WEST ON I40. EACH TIME THIS VIOLENT SHIMMY SEEMED TO BE PRECIPITATED BY RUNNING OVER ROUGH SECTIONS OF ROAD OR BRIDGE TRANSITIONS, THIS VIOLENT SHIMMY COULD ONLY BE CLEARED BY SLOWING TO APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THE PICKUP TRUCK WAS FULLY LOADED, CLOSE TO THE GVWR. INTERNET RESEARCH OF THIS PROBLEM HAS LED ME TO BELIEVE IT IS A KNOWN PHENOMENA AMONG FORD F350 & F250 OWNERS CALLED "DEATH WOBBLE". VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, THINK ABOUT IT, HAVING TO SLOW TO 25 MPH FROM FREEWAY SPEEDS ATTEMPTING TO GET INTO EITHER THE SLOW LANE OR SHOULDER - EVENTUALLY AN ACCIDENT WILL HAPPEN IF THIS "DEATH WOBBLE" IS NOT RESOLVED. I'VE REPORTED THIS SITUATION TO MY JIM BURKE FORD LOCAL DEALER HERE IN BAKERSFIELD CA (WHERE I PURCHASED THE PICKUP) AND HAVE SCHEDULE INVESTIGATION AND HOPEFULLY REPAIR ON 6 DECEMBER.
My truck started violently shaking after going over a groove in the road. Has happened about 3 times. Ford dealership said that they can't get me in until November 10th.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESS WAY (M-I-75) AT A SPEED OF 65 MILES PER HOUR I HIT A BUMP AND MY TRUCK SHOOK FIERCELY AND UNCONTROLLABLY FORCING ME TO DRIVE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD UNTIL I COULD GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. UPON STARTING TO DRIVE AGAIN THIS INCIDENT WAS REPEATED LEAVING ME TO ROLL DOWN THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY UNTIL I COULD REACH AN EXIT TO GET OFF INTO A SAFE AREA. WHEN I LOOKED THIS UP ONLINE I FOUND THAT THIS INCIDENT IS ALREADY KNOW AND NAMED, "THE DEATH WOBBLE!"

ON TWO OCCASIONS THE TRUCK HAS GOTTEN THE SHAKES AND IT'S HARD TO CONTROL ON THE ROAD. STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES BAD TOO. WAS GOING ABOUT 50 MPH EACH TIME. ONCE DOWN THE HIGHWAY IN A CONSTRUCTION AREA AND THE OTHER TIME DOWN A COUNTY ROAD. I BELIEVE IT HAS A 'DEATH WOBBLE'

WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEED VIBRATION CAN BE FELT IN STEERING WHEEL/ACCELERATOR/FLOORBOARD. WHEN I HIT A SMALL BUMP WHILE DRIVING THW VIBRATION GETS WORSE.

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS OVER THE 5 MONTHS I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK, THE FRONT WHEELS OF MY 2019 F350 HAVE SHUDDERED VIOLENTLY AFTER CROSSING MINOR BUMPS AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE SHUDDERING WAS VIOLENT ENOUGH TO POSE A SERIOUS THREAT OF AN ACCIDENT. IMMEDIATE, RAPID DECELERATION WAS THE ONLY WAY TO REGAIN CONTROL. MY INSTINCT (JUST MY OBSERVATION) IS THAT THE BUMPS CAUSED A SHUDDER IN THE FRONT WHEELS AND IF THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS ENGAGED THAT THE SYSTEM ENGAGING MADE THE SHUDDERING WORSE. THE LAST TIME AND THE THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS YESTERDAY 2/27/21 MY WIFE AND 2 SMALL CHILDREN WERE IN THE TRUCK WITH ME. DE-ACCELERATION, DANGEROUS ON A BUSY INTERSTATE ON ITS OWN, DID NOT STOP THE SHUDDERING THIS TIME, BUT DISENGAGING THE TRACTION CONTROL SEEMED TO STOP IT IMMEDIATELY. I OFTEN TOW A 30' FOOT TRAVEL TRAILER ON FAMILY TRIPS AND FORTUNATELY THE SHUDDERING HAS NOT YET HAPPENED WHILE TOWING THE CAMPER, BUT I FEAR WHAT COULD HAPPEN UNDER SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS IN FORD FORUMS AND HAVE COME TO KNOW THIS DEFECT IS COMMON WITH FORD SUPER DUTY TRUCKS AND IS KNOW AS THE F250/350 'DEATH WOBBLE' AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT IS A VERY ACCURATE DESCRIPTION. I ALSO SAW THAT TAKING THESE TRUCKS IN FOR SERVICE HAS NOT HELPED OTHER OWNERS AND THAT FORD HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS WHAT IS OBVIOUSLY A COMMON, DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW ACROSS MULTIPLE YEARS OF THE SUPER DUTY LINE OF TRUCKS. I URGE THE NHTSA TO PRESSURE FORD TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE IMMEDIATELY.

VALVE STEMS ARE LEAKING ON ALUMINUM WHEELS DUE TO CORROSION BETWEEN METAL VALVE STEM AND ALUMINUM WHEELS. HAVE BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES BY DEALERS. SOME TIRES LEAK AIR AT A FASTER RATE. TIRES LOOSE AIR WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.
Mileage: 25,000
ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 55 MILES PER HOUR, I HIT A ROUGH PATCH ON THE ROAD AND THE TRUCK STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE SHAKING WAS SO VIOLENT I THOUGHT THE FRONT WHEELS WOULD TEAR OFF AND I WOULD BE INVOLVED IN A CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT. I FEEL VERY LUCKY I DIDN'T LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND BE INVOLVED IN A MULTI-VEHICLE ACCIDENT ENDANGERING MYSELF AND OTHERS. I SLOWED DOWN AND PULLED OVER AND THE SHAKING STOPPED. IT HAPPENED AGAIN A FEW MINUTES LATER. THIS WAS/IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

I AM EXPERIENCING THE "DEATH WOBBLE". IT STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AGO WHEN I WOULD GET MINOR SHAKING IN THE STEERING AFTER HITTING A BUMP AT HIGH SPEED . THE TRUCK WOULD SHAKE BAD FOR A SHORT PERIOD AND THEN SLOWING DOWN IT WOULD STOP. I TOOK IT IN AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEN IT GOT WORSE, THE SHAKING BECAME MORE VIOLENT AND MORE FREQUENT. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND THEY STILL COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. NOW IT HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT I AM REALLY AFRAID OF IT. THE OTHER DAY I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE, IN CONSTRUCTION WITH BARRIER RAILS AND NO SHOULDER AND IT STARTED. I COULD NOT GET IT TO STOP. I GOT DOWN TO AROUND 20 MPH AND IT WAS STILL SHAKING AND I COULD NOT PULL OVER. FINALLY, SPEEDING UP GOT IT TO STOP. I BEGAN TO EXTENSIVELY RESEARCH THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT IT IS QUITE COMMON AND NO SPECIFIC REPAIR TO STOP IT. I AM GOING TO A TIRE SHOP TODAY AND DEMAND THAT SEVERAL REPAIRS ARE MADE IN HOPES THAT ONE OF THEM FIXES THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT REPLACING THE TRACK BAR, STEERING STABILIZER, FRONT BRAKES, TIRES, AND HAVING IT ALIGNED WITH A GREATER CASTER CAN FIX IT.
I'M A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER IN TULSA, OK AND I WAS WONDERING IF YOUR AGENCY HAS RECEIVED COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE 2019 FORD TRUCKS WITH THE FRONT END ISSUE CALLED THE 'DEATH WOBBLE'? THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES THIS YEAR AND WE TAKE IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT OCCURS. THE LAST TIME THE TRUCK WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR TWO WEEKS. FOWLER FORD CALLED AND SAID OUT TRUCK WAS FINALLY READY FOR PICKUP. WE IMMEDIATELY WENT AND PICKED IT UP, AND WITHIN 50-60 MILES THE DEATH WOBBLE OCCURRED AND BLEW OUT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE NEARLY CAUSING US TO HIT A GUARD RAIL WITH A HUGE EMBANKMENT. WHEN THE TRUCK TIRE BLEW OUT IT TORE OUT THE WIRING HARNESS, DAMAGED THE FENDER, THE DOOR CAUSING OVER $10K IN DAMAGE. PLEASE GOOGLE 'DEATH WOBBLE'. IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND I'M SURPRISED FORD HAS NOT DONE A RECALL. MY INSURANCE IS GOING TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES TO THE TRUCK. WE STILL WON'T HAVE A WORK TRUCK BECAUSE FORD DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FIX FOR IT. OUR DRIVER CAME WITHIN A INCH OR TWO FROM HITTING A GUARD RAIL AND GOING DOWN A HUGE EMBANKMENT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. I WAS DRIVING AT 65 MILES PER HOUR AND HIT A BUMP, THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY AND I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE TILL I SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 40 MILERS PER HOUR AND THE SHAKING WENT AWAY. THE SAME EVENT HAPPENED TWO TIMES. I HAD IT FIXED, AND THE PROBLEM STILL HAPPENED. I WAS PULLING A HORSE TRAILER WITH THREE HORSES IN IT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED.

MY 2019 F350 HAS A DEATH WOBBLE WHICH IS UNCONTROLLABLE. DURNING THE PAST 2 WEEKS HAS MADE US ALMOST CRASH. FIT LEAVES THE TRUCK UNCONTROLLABLE WHICH ALMOST HIT TWO TRACTOR TRAILERS AND CAUSED A MAJOR TRAFFIC ACCIDENT WHEN THE DEATH WOBBLE STARTED WITH A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. WE WERE IN THE LEFT LANE WHEN IT STARTED WE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT WITHOUT ANY NOTICE WITH THE ENTIRE TRUCK SHAKING OUT OF CONTROL.WE BRIGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH STATED THERE'S A RECALL BLAMED THE TIRES AND ALIGNMENT. THE RECALL IS BACK ORDERED AND NOT AVAILABLE. THEY REFUNDED US A SUITABLE RENTAL CAR. WHEN I COMPLAINED AND ASKED IF I SHOULD BRING MY TRUCK TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP HE ASKED ME WHEN WILL I BE PICKING UP MY TRUCK. MY TRUCK IS UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY

ON SEPT 4,2020 WITH MILEAGE AT 20980 AND AGAIN ON SEPT 3, 2020 AT 21560 AT AROUND 65 TO 70 MPH THE FRONT END WOBBLED FOR 6 TO 8 SECONDS IN A UNCONTROLLED MANOR. THIS MADE CONTROL VERY DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. I CHECKED THE AIR PRESSURE WHICH WAS AT THE RECOMMEND LEVEL. BOTH TIMES I WAS TRAVELING ON WELL MAINTAINED STATE HWY. I FIND THIS UNACCEPTABLE AND HIGHLY DANGEROUS. THIS WAS ON A STRAIGHT ROAD.

WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED PULLING A TRAILER EXPERIENCING VIOLENT FRONT END VIBRATION AND WOBBLE, THIS CAUSED US TO RUN OFF THE ROAD INTO THE SHOULDER NEARLY CAUSING YA TO FLIP OVER INTO THE MEDIUM. THE TIRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED AND CHECKED DAILY. THIS VIOLENT SHAKING AND WOBBLE HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY IN A TRUCK PURCHASED AS NEW. THIS VIOLENT SHAKING STARTED AT AROUND 7000 MILES AND HAS CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE AT FOWLERVILLE FORD IN MICHIGAN TO HAVE THIS ISSUES AND OTHER LOOKED AT. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PROBLEM.

THIS VEHICLE VIOLENTLY SHAKES AFTER HITTING A GROOVED SURFACE OR A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE SHAKING TAKES A GREAT DEAL OF POWER TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK UNDER CONTROL. *TR

JUST BOUGHT TRUCK FROM FRED BEANS OF BOYERTOWN. TRUCK HAS VERY HARD SHAKING WHEN HITTING A ROUGH PART OF ROADWAY WHILE TRAVELING AROUND 50MPH AND UPWARD. ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF TRUCK. IT'S HAS ALMOST LIKE A DEATH WOBBLE. VERY SCARY. WON'T STOP UNTIL TRUCK GO ABOUT 15 MPH. HAD FAMILY IN TRUCK IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

FRONT WHEELS/STEERING STABILIZER BARS. 2019 F-350 SRW WITH 8' BED AND 5400 MILES ON THE TRUCK. THE FRONT WHEELS STARTED BOUNCING WHEN HITTING POTHOLES. IT WAS NOTICEABLE AT LOWER SPEEDS (LESS THAN 35MPH) BUT IT WAS SIGNIFICANTLY MORE DEFINED AT SPEEDS OF OVER 35-40MPH. I DID NOT THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL IT OCCURRED A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE DOING ABOUT 45MPH AND TO A POINT WHERE I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. NOTE: THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN OFF-ROAD OR DRIVEN RECKLESSLY. I RECENTLY TURNED IT IN TO FORD WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY OTHER INSTANCES REPORTED WITH THE SAME MODEL/YEAR TRUCK. TECHNICIAN STATED IT IS BECOMING A COMMON COMPLAINT AND RELATED TO A FAULTY FRONT WHEEL STABILIZER BARS. FORD IS CURRENTLY REPLACING THE STABILIZER BARS ON MY TRUCK. HENCE I FELT OBLIGATED TO REPORT THIS ISSUE IN HOPES TO AVOID SOMEONE POSSIBLY GETTING INTO A SEVERE ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS FAULTY STABILIZER BARS.

AFTER HITTING BRIDGE EXPANSION JOIN AT APPROX 60 MPH T IN NEW HAMPSHIRE I EXPIERENCED A SPEED WOOBLE SO SEVERE I HAD TO STOP AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, THE WOBBLE WAS SO SEVERE I WAS UNABLE TO TURN OR GET OFF HIGHWAY . THIS HAS OCCURED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH BUT THE LAST WOBBLE WAS VERY SEVERE. THIS IS A BRAND NEW 2019 F-350 WITH LESS THAN 12,000 MILES . THIS HAS OCURED FREQUENTLY SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK BUT WAS NOT VERY SEVERE , MY CONCERN IS IF MY CHILD WAS DRIVING THIS TRUCK LIKELY WOULD HAVE BEEN A SEVERE ACCIDENT OR ROLLOVER . AFTER GETTING ONLINE IT APPEARS THIS IS A LARGE PROBLEM WITH THE SUPERDUTIES WONDERING WHY NO RECALL?
Mileage: 11,800
SHACKING OF STEERING WHEEL THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT WITH OUR TRUCKS, IT'S A NATIONWIDE PROBLEM THAT IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. IN A 10 MILE RIDE IT WOULD HAPPEN 3-4X AT 70 TO 75MPH HITTING THE SLIGHTEST BUMP, THE TRUCK WOULD VIOLENTLY SHAKE. I WOULD HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO 20 MPH FOR IT TO STOP. VERY DIFFICULT ON A HIGHWAY! *BF
ON DEC 2, 2019 I WAS DRIVING MY 2019 FORD F-350 (WITH 15,000MI) ON INSTERSTATE 505 AT APPROXIMATELY 65-70MPH WHILE OVERTAKING A TRACTOR-TRAILER. WITH NO OBVIOUS CAUSE, THE FRONT WHEELS / STEERING OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. I ASSUMED THERE WAS SOME SORT OF MAJOR WHEEL DAMAGE OR BLOWOUT OF A TIRE AND TRIED TO PULL OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS VERY HARD TO STEER AND I DID NOT HAVE ADEQUATE SPEED TO GET SAFELY PAST THE SEMI, SO I SLOWED DOWN IN THE FAST LANE AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT BEHIND THE SEMI. ONCE STOPPED I INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS SURPRISED TO FIND NO OBVIOUS DAMAGE. I RESUMED DRIVING WITHOUT ANY APPARENT ISSUE. ABOUT 45MI FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN AT 65MPH. THIS TIME THERE WERE NO VEHICLES NEARBY ON THE HIGHWAY SO I SLOWED BELOW 30MPH AND THE VIBRATION STOPPED. I ACCELERATED BACK TO 65MPH WITHOUT THE VIBRATION ISSUE AND CONTINUED MY TRIP HOME. THE INTENSITY OF THESE VIBRATIONS IS VERY EXTREME AND THE VEHICLE IS ALMOST UNCONTROLLABLE WHEN THEY ARE HAPPENENING. THERE IS NO WAY TO AVOID OR ANTICIPATE THAT THEY WILL HAPPEN, AND THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO SLOW OR STOP THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY, WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DO IN A FREEWAY ENVIRONMENT WHEN THE STEERING IS BARELY WORKING. MY VEHICLE IS USING ORIGINAL, UNMODIFIED STOCK TIRES, WHEELS, AND SUSPENSION COMPONENTS AND IS OVF RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE (15,000MI).
