2012 ford fiesta check engine light on codes reading o2 sensors, catalytic intake, misfires, fuel injection, etc. I have had my fiesta at 3 mechanics all very known for there reliability all diagnosing it different issue recommending me to go to dealership which I was turned away because the recalls for the vehicle isn’t an issue for any of the possible diagnostics. Single mother of 3 now no vehicle, no money and no way of providing without transportation. Less than 150,000 Miles owned less than two years and the amount of money put into the vehicle ford should be ashamed. Shuddering and accelerating issue was told clutch and transmission issue but no help or actual known diagnosis since ford won’t diagnose the suspected diagnosis from any of the mechanics I have taken the vehicle to and they can’t for sure diagnose it until ford confirms the diagnosis since this is a known issue. They also sent me two recalls but refused to fix the recalls because I wasn’t 100% sure my vehicle needed the repair and threatened to charge me 150 diagnostic charge for the recall after I already poured my heart out to them about the issue I can’t seem to even get repaired due to there lack of care care as a manufacturer

I just got the car in June 1st.2022 it's broken down 5x stopped in middle of us.19 North 2x it won't keep oil it's leaking out running hot blowed the hose loose 1x last week,it started weeks ago refused to start up and shutting down now, shuddering, it's at machanic shop now in largo, Florida he stated the car is not usable and unsafe to drive any longer the motor as well is gone and white smoke is coming from the muffler.the used car dealership truecars on park blvd.is trying to force me to keep the car I haven't driven the car in 2wks.this week will be 3 I have fixed Alot of things on the car in little time I can't afford to replace something that was damaged already my first to be car and it's been a bad experience.but I do know I will not put my life or anyone else lives in danger to fix the serious major damage with this car someone please contact me and help guide me as to what to do with this situation in desperate need.God bless.sincerly!!!

Transmission Malfunction, this is the 4th time that I am having to replace the transmission. I am taking the car back to dealership to get the transmission fixed for the 5th time. The car jerks when it comes to a stop. Hard time accelerating or does not accelerate. I put the car in R and it did not budge at all, even turned the car off and turned it back on same thing. This car should not be permitted on the road. Does not shift gears properly, the RPM run very high. I am afraid to drive this car constantly, even after I get it out of the shop because I just know that the transmission will eventually malfunction on me again. Very unsafe and unreliable to drive.

While my 16 yr old twin sons were driving on freeway, a loud pop of pressure release from motor occured, and steam blew out from under hood obscurring their visibilty. they were able to pull over safely and call me. Upon arrival, after confirming they were ok, I checked under hood to see that the intake manifold had built up to much pressure for the PCV hose and the recirculating hose that connects to top of valve cover. Oil had sprayed out everywhere and car will not start. Ive lost compression in 2 cylinders now from the fast overheat. My childrens safety was severily compromised by this chain reaction of a failed PCV valve. OM SUNDAY MARCH 28,2021 MY HUSBAND AND I ATTENDED A AUTO AUCTION. WHEN THE DEALER BROUGHT OUT A 2012 FORD FIESTA. BEFORE BIDDING STARTED EVERYTHING LOOKED AND SOUNDED ALRIGHT. WE ENDED UP PAYING $3200.00 FOR A VEHICLE THAT THEY FAILED TO PROVIDE FAULTY PROBLEMS. CAR HAS A LIEN ON IT. AFTER DRIVING OFF THE LOT I CAME TO A RED LIGHT WHEN IT TURNED GREEN THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING LOOSING FUEL AS WELL AS ACCELERATION. I THAN PULLED INTO THE A PARKING AT THE GAS STATION TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION MAKING NOISE AS WELL AS SLIPPING, SPARK PLUGS, OIL CHANGE. I THEN DROVE BACK TO THE CAR BUT EVERYONE WAS GONE FOR THE DAY. I TRIED CALLING THE OFFICE THE NEXT DAY AND LEFT MESSAGES. NO RESPONSE WHAT SO EVER. TERRIBLE SHUTTERING FROM THE TRANSMISSION, I HAD TO BRING IT TO THE LOCAL FORD AFTER I CHANGED THE BATTERY, IT WOULDN'T SHIFT THOUGHT THE GEARS. SO THEY CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND THE SOLENOID'S, 4 MONTHS LATER MY FIANCE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGH WAY AND THE CAR LOOSES ALL POWER (STEERING, BRAKING, E.C.T) I TAKE IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER IT TAKES THEM 32 DAYS TO GET BACK TO ME TO TELL ME ITS GOING TO NEED A NEW TRANSMISSON WITCH COST $4,800 TO FIX A $7,500 CAR AND THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THAT. KNOWING THAT THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR THESE VEHICLES. CAR JUST REJECTS FUEL AND FUEL PUMPS RANDOMLY.

I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP AFTER HEARING ABOUT FORD MOTOR COMPANY TELLING THEIR DEALERSHIPS TO FIX THE ISSUE. AFTER I GOT TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $120 FOR THEM TO EVEN DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. AND THAT FORD MAY COVER ANYWHERE FROM NOTHING TO EVERYTHING. IT COULD BE 1/3, 2/3 OF THE COST. THEY WOULD DECIDE. I HAVEN'T HAD MY CAR FOR 3 DAYS. IT'S JUST SITTING AT THE SHOP WAITING ON FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO 'DECIDE HOW MUCH THEY WILL COVER, IF ANY'. I AM INFURIATED!

MY FRIEND GETS IN THE CAR HE NOTICED THE SMELL . I LOOKED OUT THE WINDSHIELD AND I SEE A LIL SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD, ALL THE SUDDEN ALOT OF SMOKE COMES OUT . I POP THE HOOD SHUT THE CAR OFF AND GET OUT OF THERE . MY FRIEND RUNS AND GRABS FIRE EXTINGUISHERS HIM AND ANOTHER MAN TRY TO OPEN THE HOOD IT WON'T OPEN YOU COULD SEE THE FLAMES COMING UNDERNEATH THE CAR THEN THERE IS A POP . A DAY LATER MY CAR FLASHED A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHILE I WAS 45 MINUTES AWAY FROM HOME ON THE HIGHWAY. CODES THAT CAME UP WERE ADDRESSED & THE VEHICLES CONDITION WORSENED UNTIL IT WENT FULLY INTO LIMP MODE WHILE RETURNING FROM AN ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE COMPUTER.

WE HAVE A 2012 FORD FIESTA. WHEN WE ARE DRIVING THE CAR TI SHAKES WHEN IT GOES TO CHANGE GEARS, IT IS AN AUTOMATIC. WE'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP USED TO TELL US IT WAS THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. THEY HAVE CLEANED IT AND REPLACED IT. THE CAR CONTINUED TO HAVE THE ISSUE. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM TO CHECK THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. THEY DID AND REPLACED THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY SAYING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THE CAR DROVE DECENT FOR ABOUT A MONTH THEN WE WENT BACK TO THE PROBLEM OF LOSING POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND THEN ACCELERATING TOO FAST AFTER THE LOSS OF POWER. NOW THE CAR WILL REV UP WHEN IN PARK AND CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SHUTTERING PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SEEMS TO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON.

THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FORD OF VENTURA, CA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CONTACT NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND HAVE HER VIN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

I BOUGHT MY 2012 FORD FIESTA IN 9/2015 WITH APPROX.16,000 MILES ON IT. SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR, IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES (ONE OF WHICH FOR 26 DAYS). #1 WAS DUE TO THE DOOR LATCH. MY 10YR OLD WAS SITTING IN THE BACKSEAT WHEN THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR SWUNG OPEN WHILE I WAS MAKING A TURN. #2 WAS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR WAS HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS & BEGAN SHAKING, THEN THE LIGHTS INSIDE & OUT STARTED BLINKING AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. #3 WAS FOR THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN, WHICH LOCKED UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN I75 IN NAPLES THE EVENING OF 12/28/2015. THE CAR COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND HAD TO BE TOWED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. #4 THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING NORTH ON I75 THE CAR STARTED MAKING A STRANGE WHINNY NOISE THEN SHORTLY AFTER LOCKED UP WHILE I WAS STILL DRIVING. THAT TIME I BARELY MADE IT OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. CAR WAS TOWED AGAIN TO DEALERSHIP. #5 TRANSMISSION...AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING AT 11:30PM AT NIGHT 8/2016 CAR LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING ON & OFF AND THEN THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THE 'CUSTOMER SATISFACTION" (RECALL) OF OVER A MILLION FORD VEHICLES FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT OF COURSE NOT ANY FIESTA'S. HAVE JUST FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME VEHICLE AS MINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 301 AND WATER COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED A FEW FEET AT FIRST STATION. WATER WAS POURING OUT MY RADIATOR. I'VE ALREADY REPORTED ON THIS SITE BEFORE REGARDING MY 2012 FORD FIESTA WITH CLUTCH FAILURE (IN DECEMBER 2013 AT JUST OVER 32,000 MILES). RECENTLY MY CAR WAS ACTING SLUGGISH AND I MADE AN APPOINTMENT A FEW WEEKS FROM WHEN I CALLED (WHEN AN APPOINTMENT WAS AVAILABLE). THEN ONE MORNING WHILE TRYING TO START MY CAR IT DIED AND REFUSED TO START. I HAD IT TOWED TO FORD, AND IT HAD A TRANSMISSIONAL CONTROL MODULE (TCM) FAILURE WHICH I GUESS CAUSED MY TRANSMISSION TO FAIL/ENGINE NOT TO START. THIS WAS AT 48,000 MILES. THEY FIXED IT AND RETURNED THE CAR TO ME ON 11/7 BUT THE CLUTCH STILL DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT. MY CAR SHUDDERS, SHAKES, AND HAS TROUBLE KICKING INTO GEAR WHICH MAKES IT FEEL DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ESPECIALLY IN CITY TRAFFIC OR IN THE HILLY AREAS OF COLORADO. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD CONSISTENT TRANSMISSION SHUDDER AND ENGINE RATTLE UPON ACCELERATION WHICH AFFECTS THE THE INITIAL ACCELERATION OF THE CAR. THE SPORADIC DELAY IN INITIAL ACCELERATION HAS BEEN AN ONGOING SAFETY CONCERN. MOST RECENTLY THE VEHICLE ALMOST STALLED COMPLETELY AFTER BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE INTO A MERGE. THERE WAS A FEW SECOND DELAY IN ANY MOVEMENT OR POWER TO THE CAR. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE COMING AT THE TIME OR THIS VEHICLE MALFUNCTION WOULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN TO A FORD SERVICE CENTER 5 TIMES FOR THIS COMPLAINT AND IT IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT FORD KNOWINGLY REPLACED THE CLUTCH AND SEALS IN MY CAR WITH MALFUNCTIONING PARTS. APPARENTLY NEWLY ENGINEERED PARTS WERE PRODUCED AS A PATCH FOR THIS ISSUE. EITHER THE OLD PARTS WERE USED TO FIX MY CAR, WHICH WOULD BE QUITE AN EGREGIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, OR THE NEWLY ENGINEERED PARTS ARE STILL MALFUNCTIONING. MY VEHICLE WAS HAVING TROUBLE CHANGING GEARS AND FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS GOING TO DIE AT THE INTERSECTIONS. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PERFORMED A "REPROGRAM PCM AND TCM". WITHIN A MONTH OF THIS REPAIR, MY VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING THE SAME ISSUE! I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP IN PHOENIX, AZ AND IT TOOK ALMOST 5 WEEKS TO GET THE NEW TRANSMISSION DELIVERED TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE PART BEING OUT OF STOCK WITH THE NUMEROUS REQUESTS FOR NEW TRANSMISSION ON THIS YEAR VEHICLE. I HAD TO FIGHT WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO KEEP THE RENTAL CAR I WAS PROVIDED WITH. THEY CONTINUALLY CALLED ME REQUESTING I BRING THE RENTAL CAR BACK ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. I HAVE BEEN HAVING CONTINUING PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR AND TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY FOR YET ANOTHER RECALL ON MY TRANSMISSION AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY 3 DAYS TO PERFORM AND THAT FORD WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A RENTAL VEHICLE WHILE MY REPAIRS ARE BEING PERFORMED. HOW CAN A COMPANY SELL A CAR TO CONSUMERS WITH A KNOWINGLY DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION AND NOT BE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE PEOPLE THAT PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN GOOD FAITH? THE VEHICLE HAD AN ABNORMAL IDLE WHILE AT A STOP, AND WOULD SOMETIMES STALL. UPON ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE AND JERK FORWARD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE MECHANIC CLEARED THE CODE FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, BUT THE INTERNAL WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, ON A CAR THAT WAS A LITTLE OVER 2 YEARS OLD. THE INTERNAL WIRING HARNESS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY. THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED AT A COST TO ME OF $245.99. LESS THAN 2 MONTHS LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, ABNORMAL IDLE, STALLING, AND HESITANT AND JERKY ACCELERATING. AGAIN, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH FRONT SEALS, INPUT SEALS, AND AXLES SEALS, CHANGED TRANSMISSION FLUID, ADDED 2 QUARTS OF TRANSMISSION DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION FLUID. THIS REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER THE FORD 5 YEAR, 60,000 MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. ABOUT 5 WEEKS LATER I WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, ABNORMAL IDLE, HESITANT AND JERKY ACCELERATION. AGAIN, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WITH NO CHOICE, I NEED TO GET TO WORK, I TOLD THEM TO GO AHEAD WITH THE REPAIR WHICH ONCE AGAIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY. THE TOTAL FOR THIS REPAIR COST ME $720.26. AS I ACCELERATED, THE GEARS BEGAN MAKING A GRINDING NOISE. THIS CAUSE THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO VIBRATE AND SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. ALSO, WHEN I TRY TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT SLOWER SPEEDS BETWEEN 30-45 MPH, THE GEARS GRIND CONSTANTLY AND THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES VIBRATE UNCONTROLLABLY.
