The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch, the TCM, and the doors needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. Cars transmission went out at 64000 miles car started jerking then showed a message to use brake stop safely I pulled over and then said transmission hot give a few minutes then after a few minutes it said transmission ready then I tried to drive it and it did the same thing all over again. When I got it home I found out the reverse is out

PURCHASED USED ON MARCH 2021 DEALERSHIP SOMEHOW MADE IT DRIVE PERFECT UNTIL I DROVE IT FOR 2 DAYS. THEN NOTICED ENGINE SHIFTING ISSUES, LOSS OF TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT WHILE DRIVING, NO-START, OR A LACK OF POWER. IDLES VERY ROUGH IN PARKED POSITION- SPITTING AND SPUTTERING. VEHICLE STALLING, LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING, RPMS AT 4 WHILE ON HIGHWAY @ 65-70 MPH AS IF IT NEVER CHANGED OUT OF 2ND OR 3RD GEAR. CALLED FORD AND HAD THE TCM UPDATED APRIL 2021 AT GABRIEL FORD DEALERSHIP,LIVINGSTON TEXAS.THE UPDATE DID NOT HELP AND I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO DRIVE IT LIKE I STOLE IT BUT THAT MAKES THE POWER-TRAIN ISSUES WORSE. FORD DEALERSHIP POINTED ME TO NHTSA TO WRITE A COMPLAINT. AS OF MAY 15, 2021 IT DOESN'T MATTER IF ITS ON HIGHWAY, LOCAL IN TOWN, LOW MPH OR 65 MPH THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUES TO JERK, LOSE POWER, SPUTTER, AFTER UPDATING THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT NEVER CAME ON WHEN TRANSMISSION ISSUES HAPPENED. VEHICLE JERKING. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 20 MILES WITH RPMS AT 4 STOPPING AT A LIGHT THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED AND WOULD NOT GAIN ACCELERATION, VERY SLOW TO GAIN ACCELERATION. LOSS OF ACCELERATION POWER WILL CUT OUT & CAR WILL BUCK & SPUTTER, ALSO MAKES A GRINDING OR NOISE THEN STOPPED. IT'S ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR!. RPM REVS UP REALLY HIGH BUT THE SPEED DOESNT CHANGE. AT A RED LIGHT MY CAR BEGAN ACTING FUNNY WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE CAR WAS HESITANT TO GO IT WAS HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING AND ACCELERATING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS SHUTTERING WHEN DRIVING. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND NOW THE CAR IS SAYING TO SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION NOW. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 2 MONTHS!
IM NOT SURE IF I HAVE SELECTED CORRECT OPTIONS. BUT ALL I KNOW IS WHEN I SLOW MY CAR AND THEY TRY TO ACCELERATE THE CAR DOES NOT SPEED UP IMMEDIATELY IT TAKE FEW MINUTES. HENCE I HAVE TO ACCELERATE MORE TO MAKE THE CAR RUNNING. THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN ISSUE. QUITE DIFFICULT WHILE SWITCHING LANES ON HIGHWAYS OR TAKING TURNS. SPECIALLY DRIVING IN WINTER IS SCARY. I FIND THE CAR VERY UNPREDICTABLE. I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICING CENTRE IN TORONTO CA AT DUFFERIN FOR THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED AND THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. AFTER INFORMING THEM THEY JUST DISREGARDED SAYING THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH ALL FORD. THINKING IM A WOMEN AND DONT UNDERSTAND MUCH OF CARS I FORGOT ABOUT IT. EVEN WHEN IT RAINS WHILE APPLYING A BRAKE IT STARTLES AND DOESN'T STOP IMMEDIATELY. THIS ISSUE WAS ALSO DISCUSSED WITH THE FORD CENTRE AT DUFFERIN ST IN TORONTO. I SOMETIMES FEAR TO DRIVE MY CAR AS I HAVE MY CHILD AND PETS ALONG WITH ME. THIS IS ONGOING THING DAILY SO CANT SPECIFY WHICH DATE EXACTLY AS WHENEVER WE DRIVE WE HAVE THIS ISSUE.

RECEIVED A COSTUMER SERVICE LETTER (15B22/19N07) STATING ISSUE WITH TRANSMISSION TCM AND TO BRING CAR INTO DEALER FOR EVALUATION/FIX. ONCE CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD WE NEEDED TO PAY $200 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST OF THE CAR TO SEE IF IT IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL. WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE SUCH AS SKIPPING GEARS, LOSS OF POWER AND THE CAR EVEN STALLING OUT. IF THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE DUE TO DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION I FEEL I AS A CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY A DIME TO FIX THEIR PROBLEM. I AM AWARE OF A LARGE NEWS STORY THAT INVOLVED THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ISSUES RESULTING IN SEVERAL DEATHS DUE TO ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THIS PROBLEM.

THE CAR CONSTANTLY SHUDDERS WHEN DRIVING. THE CAR HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING. I EVEN HAD TO PULL THE FUSE OUT FOR THE RADIO BECAUSE THE SPEAKERS WOULD CONSTANTLY POP, EVEN WITH THE RADIO OFF. I TRULY BELIEVE THERE IS AN ISSUE EVEN WITH NEW TRANSMISSIONS IN THIS CAR. IF THE TRANSMISSION IS REPLACED, THE SAME PROBLEMS SHOULD NOT CONTINUE. I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME NOR THE MONEY TO KEEP FIXING SOMETHING THAT IS NOT FIXABLE. I WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE A CAR THAT I FEEL UNSAFE IN UNTIL I CANNOT ANYMORE. PURGE VALVE CAUSED FUEL TANK TO BE SUCKED IN 3/4 OF AN INCH. WHILE DRIVING I HAVE SURGING AND WHEN STOPPED THE IDLE IS ERRATIC AND BOUNCES BETWEEN 1000 TO 2000 RPM. CAUSES CODE P0300 TO COME AND GO AND ALSO P0497 TO COME AND GO. EXTREMELY HARD FOR DEALERSHIPS TO FIND THE PROBLEM. I HAVE VIDEO AND PICTURE PROOF OF ISSUE.

HELLO THERE! IT'S BEEN A REALLY LONG STORY, BUT MY CAR HAS HAD A HISTORY OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE NOW ON FORD'S DOLLAR. IT'S BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES NOW AND IT'S EVEN WORSE. IT'S NON DRIVABLE. THERE ARE TWO OPEN RECALLS FOR IT, 14M01 AND 14M02. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WE'VE GONE BACK AND FORTH WITH MANUFACTURING, BUT IT'S SO BROKEN THEY CAN'T PULL THOSE CODES. THEY SAY THAT I NEED TO PAY FOR A TEAR DOWN (AT LEAST 1,200) SO THEY CAN DIAGNOSE IT TO SEE IF THEY'LL REIMBURSE ME. I'M OBVIOUSLY NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THAT AND I'D LIKE FORD TO PAY FOR IT, BUT THEY WON'T. I HAVE AN OPEN CASE WITH THEM, BUT REACHED THE END OF THE LINE. CAN YOU HELP?

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO JOE MYERS FORD (16634 NORTH WEST FREEWAY, HOUSTON, TEXAS 77040) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND CLUTCH ACTUATOR MOTOR FAILED, AND OIL WAS LEAKING FROM THE VALVE GASKET AREA. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED FOR TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN JULY OF 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.

I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD FIESTA IN JULY OF 2013. THE FIRST TWO WEEKS I WAS DRIVING IT, I NOTICED JERKING, LUNGING, AND SHUTTERING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM LOW SPEEDS OR FROM A STOPPED POSITION. SOON THEREAFTER, A METAL NOISE STARTED FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE "CLUTCH" IN THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IT TOOK A WHILE (11 DAYS) TO GET THE PART IN, BUT THE WORK WAS DONE. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. I DROVE THE CAR AS IT WAS BECAUSE I NEEDED IT FOR MY BUSY JOB. WHEN I TRANSFERRED TO HOUSTON IN THE FALL OF 2014, I HAD IT SERVICED AGAIN AT THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WAS GETTING WORSE. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 3 DAYS AND ALL THEY SAID WAS IT "NEEDED AN UPDATE." UPDATE OR NOT, THE PROBLEM WAS AND IS STILL THERE. THE LUNGING, AND MIS-SHIFTS HAVE NEVER BEEN WORSE. I PUT UP WITH IT UNTIL THIS WEEK WHEN I ACCELERATED IN HOUSTON TRAFFIC AND MY FIESTA WOULD NOT GO. I COULD HAVE CAUSED A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT AND INJURY TO MYSELF AND OTHERS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE SHUTTERING IS SO BAD THAT IT SEEMS AS IF THE CAR'S BACK BRAKES ARE LOCKED UP AND THE CAR IS DRAGGING ITS BACK END. I HAVE A NEW APPOINTMENT ON 6/29/15 WITH THE SAME DEALERSHIP THAT DID THE "UPDATE." THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME I HAVE HAD A DEALERSHIP ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE I PURCHASED IT, ESPECIALLY WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND NOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE LOCKING MECHANISMS FOR THE DOORS. THEY COULD BECOME UNLOCKED ANYTIME. THERE HAVE BEEN VARIOUS RECALLS AND UPDATES TO THE CAR. HOWEVER THEY HAVE NO PARTS AT THIS POINT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY CORRECTED BUT NO PERMANENT FIX. THERE HAS BEEN A CLUTCH ON ORDER SINCE MARCH 7, 2015 AND THE CONVERTER WAS DIAGNOSED ON MARCH 27, 2015 AND THOSE ARE NOT AVAILABLE EITHER. I DRIVE ABOUT 600 MILES A WEEK AND REALLY NEED A DEPENDABLE CAR. WHEN I GO TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC THE TRANSMISSION BOGS DOWN SO I HAVE TO GIVE MYSELF AMPLE TIME TO GET OUT. I PURCHASED THIS CAR WITH THE EXPECTATIONS THAT IT WOULD GIVE ME A LONG REPAIR FREE LIFE. I DID PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT AT THE RATE IT'S GOING THE CAR WILL NOT MAKE IT THAT FAR. YOU WOULD THINK THAT FORD WOULD HAVE THE PARTS TO CORRECT THE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. EITHER FIX IT OR REPLACE IT. FORD IS TRULY LIVING UP TO IT NAME. FIX OR REPAIR DAILY. I EVEN CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT THEY HAVE NEVER CALLED ME BACK EITHER. MY DEALER HAS NO INFO EITHER. AS MUCH AS I LOVE THE CAR ITSELF I FIND MYSELF WONDERING IF I WOULD EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD. IF THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR THE MONEY I PAID WHY GIVE THEM MY HARD EARNED MONEY WHEN THEY SELL ME A LEMON. THERE IS ACTUALLY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS CAR. ONLY A COUPLE MONTHS LATER THE CAR STARTED TO HAVING TROUBLE WITH GEAR SHIFTING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS AND ALSO SEEMS TO SLIP WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT. CAR HAS REPEATEDLY COME CLOSE TO STALLING AND HAS LOST ALMOST ALL POWER AT VARIOUS TIMES. THE CAR DEALER NOW SAYS IT NEEDS A NEW CLUTCH AND IT WILL TAKE 16 WEEKS FOR IT TO ARRIVE. UNTIL THEN I AM NOT TO DRIVE IT LONG DISTANCES. VERY DANGEROUS CAR, I AM AFRAID I WILL BE HIT TRYING TO TURN BECAUSE THE ENGINE WILL LOSE POWER AT THE WRONG TIME.

THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN! I HAVE 2 LITTLE CHILDREN AND IF A CAR WERE TO SWERVE INTO MY LANE I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE OUT OF THE WAY. I TOLD THIS TO FORD AND WHAT THEY SAID IS THAT "THIS HASN'T HAPPENED YET" WHICH AFTER READING REPORTS ONLINE, I CAN TELL IS UNTRUE. THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR OVER 4 YEARS. THEY DIDN'T OFFER ANY OTHER ASSISTANCE, EXCEPT TO TELL ME THAT MAYBE I SHOULD JUST TRADE IT BACK IN. WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNING THIS CAR, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED DISPLAYING SIGNS OF DEFECTIVENESS. IT BEGAN EXHIBITING A GRINDING NOISE WHEN IN LOW GEARS. AS MILEAGE INCREASED (~12,000 MI), IT STARTED NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY WITH EITHER HESITATION, SKIPPING OR JOLTING FORWARD. NOW (~25,000MI), THE VEHICLE IS SHUTTERING AND VIBRATING IN LOW GEARS (1 & 2). IN OTHER WORDS, I FEEL LIKE I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER MY VEHICLE AND BOTH MYSELF AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD ARE IN DANGER. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR IN THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. MY TRANSMISSION APPARENTLY "RUNS WITHIN SPEC" BUT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG AND THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE A CONCERN TO ALL DRIVERS, NOT JUST OWNERS OF FORD FIESTA'S OR FOCUS', AS THEY ARE ENDANGERED JUST BEING ON THE ROAD WITH SAID VEHICLES. I CALLED HIM BACK AND ASKED HIM WHY HE DIDN'T FIX, TELL ME OR SET ME UP WITH AND APPOINTMENT TO GET MY RECALLS REPAIRED? HE TRIED TO TELL ME OTHER THINGS I NEEDED INSTEAD AT A COST. I WAS UPSET BUT MADE A APPOINTMENT AND CALLED CUSTOMER RELATIONS. HOWEVER AFTER GOING ONLINE I GOT THE REAL PICTURE! MY WIFE LIFTED TO HER FOOT OFF THE THROTTLE TO APPLY AGAIN, THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD WITH MY WIFE'S FOOT OFF THE PEDAL. THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON WINDY MOUNTAIN ROADS. THE VEHICLE WILL BECOME HESITANT THE LURCH OR BOG DOWN.WE HAD THIS VEHICLE IN FOR THE SAME FIX ON 09/09/2013. THE DEALERSHIP TOOK THE VEHICLE ON A ROAD TEST AND DIAGNOSED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. THE CARS TRANSMISSION STILL HAD MINOR PROBLEMS THAT THE DEALERSHIP STATED AS "NORMAL". THE DIAGNOSIS OF MY VEHICLE NOW IS THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT A ROAD TEST WASN'T EVEN DONE TO THE VEHICLE. A FORD "SPECIALIST" DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM WITH A COMPUTER STATING HE COULD ONLY GET THE ENGINE TO SHUTTER. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A PROPER DIAGNOSTIC CAN BE DONE IF THE CAR IS NOT DRIVEN ON THE ROAD. A YEAR AND A HALF AGO I BROUGHT MY CAR, 2013 FORD FIESTA IN FOR A REGULAR OIL CHANGE AND THE SHOP NOTIFIED ME TO BRING CAR TO FORD DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY FOR A MAJOR OIL LEAK FIX, WHICH, I HAD THOUGHT WAS THE REASON FOR MY CAR SPUTTERING AND HESITATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP TO ACCELERATION. FORD FIXED OIL LEAK AND REPORT HAD ALSO CLAIMED THE TRANSMISSION WAS REMOVED TO CLEAN UP "CONTAMINATED CLUTCH". AFTER, MY CAR SEEMED TO RUN SMOOTHER AND ACCELERATION AND SPUTTER WAS ALLEVIATED. A MONTH LATER MY CAR BEGAN INTENSELY SPUTTERING AND IN A COUPLE INSTANCES WOULD BEGIN TO ACCELERATE THEN COMPLETELY STOP EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS PEDAL. IT SEEMED TO STALL OUT ONE TIME AND I WAS ALMOST T-BONED BY A CAR COMING AROUND THE CORNER, EVEN THOUGH I WOULD HAVE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO TURN IF THE CAR ACCELERATED PROPERLY. MONTHS PASS AND MY CAR WAS STILL ACTING WEIRD, SHAKING WHEN IN A LOW GEAR AND STRUGGLING TO ACCELERATE. AT 35000 MILES I BROUGHT THE CAR IN(STILL UNDER WARRANTY) AND THEY FIXED THE CLUTCH IN THE TRANSMISSION. UPON LEAVING THE SHOP THE CAR FELT BETTER, BUT STILL HAD A SHAKE TO IT, ESPECIALLY ON HILLS. I CALLED COLONIAL FORD AND NOTIFIED THEM IT NEEDED TO BE FIXED AGAIN (THIS WAS FOUR DAYS AFTER I PICKED IT UP FROM BEING FIXED) THEY TOLD ME IT WAS FIXED TO "THEIR STANDARD" AND THE SPUTTER IS "ALWAYS GOING TO KIND OF BE THERE". MY CONCERN IS MY SAFETY, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE AT ALL DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND I DO NOT WANT TO ENDANGER ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD. EARLIER THIS YEAR I BROUGHT THE CAR IN WITH THIS ISSUE AND THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE PARTS IN THE GEARS. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. YESTERDAY, I WAS AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WAITING TO TURN LEFT. I STARTED TO ACCELERATE THEN THE CAR STARTED TO MAJORLY SHUTTER. IT CAUSED A SIGNIFICANT DELAY IN TIME THAT IT WOULD NORMALLY TAKE TO MAKE THE TURN WHILE I WAS IN MID TURN AT A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION WITH APPROACHING TRAFFIC. A FEW WEEKS AGO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING MY CAR IN TODAY. WHEN I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY THEY SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS "SHUTTERING" ISSUE AND HAD MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS. I ASKED THEM MANY QUESTIONS....SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WERE: WHEN I BROUGHT THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION IN THE FIRST YEAR WHY DID YOU IGNORE MY COMPLAINT AND HAND ME A FLYER TELLING ME THIS IS NORMAL? WHEN MY HUSBAND BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE A FEW WEEKS AGO WHY DIDN'T YOU INFORM HIM THAT THERE WAS A RECALL NOTICE ON THE TRANSMISSION THAT EXTENDS THE SERVICE WARRANTY AND THAT THERE COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE? SHE EXPLAINED THAT FORD WAS TO BLAME AND NOT THE DEALERSHIP. SHE SAID THAT FORD WAS GIVING THEM MISINFORMATION AND TOLD THEM ALL ALONG THAT THIS WAS NORMAL OF THE TRANSMISSION AND SO THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE TELLING THEIR CUSTOMERS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, DISSATISFIED WITH THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT, I DESCRIBED THE GRINDING SOUND TO A SERVICE MANAGER AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. HE TOLD ME THE GRINDING IS NORMAL AND THAT THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. SO I STARTED READING AROUND AND LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF FIESTA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. APPROXIMATELY IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014 THE CAR WAS STILL HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND FORD SENT US A NOTICE THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. MY WIFE TOOK THE CAR IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE A FIX FOR IT WHICH SHOULD MAKE IT BETTER BUT WOULD NOT STOP THE PROBLEM BUT IT WOULD TAKE A WHILE TO GET IT SCHEDULED FOR SERVICE. WE SCHEDULED THE VEHICLE AND A FEW WEEKS LATER IT WAS DONE AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUED SO I TOOK IT BACK IN AND TOLD THEM IT WAS STILL DOING IT. THE EMPLOYEE AT THE DEALERSHIP, THAT I PURCHASED IT AT, TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL FORD COMES UP WITH A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. I POSTED ON FORD SERVICE ON FACEBOOK AND THEN THEY CONTACTED ME AND LOOKED INTO THE PROBLEM. A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE CALLED ME TODAY AND VERIFIED THE SAME STORY SAYING THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE FIXED RIGHT NOW. I ASKED ABOUT THE WARRANTY AND THEY SEEMED UNINTERESTED STATING AGAIN THAT THEY CAN'T FIX IT. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THAT THIS CAR HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM OVER A FEW YEAR PERIOD, SO THEY ARE AWARE OF IT YET THEY CONTINUE TO SELL IT. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS, IT HAS EVEN SHUT OFF ON US A COUPLE OF TIMES. BOTH INNER AND OUTER INPUT SHAFT SEALS WERE REPLACED DUE TO A LEAK AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. IN JULY OF 2014 AT APPROX. 13,104 MILES, MY AVERAGE MILES PER GALLON WAS DROPPING AS WELL AS THE CAR SHUTTERING ON ACCELERATION AND TURNING THE VEHICLE. AGAIN, WITHIN FIVE MONTHS THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, IN MAY OF 2014 A DIFFERENT ISSUE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS TIME DIAGNOSIS WAS THE CATALYST ELEMENT FAILING AND THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. ANOTHER ISSUE WAS I HAD THE GREEN PHONE ICON LIGHT FLASHING ON THE CENTER DISPLAY, IN WHICH THE FRONT DISPLAY WAS REPLACED. FORD FIESTA 2013 (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) - STARTED CAR. PUT CAR IN REVERSE. CAR DID NOT REVERSE AND THERE WERE RATTLING AND GRINDING SOUNDS COMING FROM TRANSMISSION. RESTARTED CAR. CAR REVERSED. HOWEVER, ONCE CAR WAS PUT INTO DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION WAS RATTLING AND GRINDING AGAIN. ONCE I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD, STOPPED AND LURCHED FORWARD AGAIN. I HAD TO LEAVE EXTRA ROOM TO ACCELERATE BECAUSE I COULD NOT PREDICT IF THE CAR WOULD GO AT ALL OR ACCELERATE AT AN UNPREDICTABLE SPEED BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT TRUSTWORTHY AND THE CLUTCH KEPT SLIPPING. OVERALL, THE FIESTA'S TRANSMISSION ISSUE HAS TO DO WITH THE VEHICLE'S DESIGN, AND THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. FROM 20,000 MILES ON, I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN TWICE TO TRY AND FIX THIS DEFECT AND IT CONTINUES TO EXIST. I PICKED CAR UP ON JUNE 5, 2015 AND DROVE SHORT DISTANCE AND ALL POWER TO TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. IT EVENTUALLY 'CAME BACK' AND I WAS ABLE TO RETURN TO DEALERSHIP. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED, SO I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY; COMPLAINT #2989023. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO BRING THE CAR TO A DEALER AND THEY NEED PROOF THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE SERVICE PERSON SAID I NEED TO BE DRIVING THE CAR WHILE FAULTS ARE DOCUMENTED BECAUSE THE CAR HAS AN ADAPTIVE LEARNING PROGRAM THAT RESPONDS TO THE DRIVER'S ACTIONS. I BROUGH THE CAR TO SCHAUMBURGH FORD IN ILLINOIS. THE SERVICE DIRECTOR TEST DROVE THE CAR WHILE I WAS IN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT. HE SAID HE DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY FAULTS WITH THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THERE WAS ONE INSTANCE AS WE WERE RETURNING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THAT THE CAR SHUDDERED. THE DEALER TOOK THE CAR FOR THE AFTERNOON 8/29/2013 AND SAID HE RESET THE CAR AGAIN FOR TSB 13-4-5 UPDATE ALTHOUGH THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A RECEIPT OF WORK THAT WAS DONE. ON THE MORNING OF 8/30/2013 THE CAR EXPERIENCED OVERHEATING AND BURNING UNDER THE HOOD. A SERVICE PERSON FROM THE SCHAUMBER FORD DEALERSHIP IN ILLINOIS MET TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE PERSON TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR DUE TO THE WEEKEND SCHEDULE. THE ISSUE IS STILL BEING ADDRESSED BY THE DEALER AT THIS TIME.

I PICKED UP THIS VEHICLE BRAND- NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON 8/2/13. BY 8/5, THREE DAYS AFTER I GOT THE CAR, THE ENTIRE FRONT END HAD STARTED TO SHUDDER AND CHUG, AND THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON. IT FELT LIKE A DEEP-SEATED TIMING ISSUE (THE ENGINE RPMS HAD BEEN A BIT OFF SINCE I PICKED UP THE CAR ON 8/2, AND IT APPEARED TO BE SHIFTING ODDLY, EVEN BEFORE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON). THE CLUTCH ALSO ENGAGED AT ODD TIMES (I BOUGHT AN AUTOMATIC), AND IT DIDN'T APPEAR THAT THE ENGINE RPMS AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTING WERE SYNCHING UP CORRECTLY AT ALL. MY DIAGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ROMANO FORD IN SYRACUSE, NY, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE NEXT DAY (8/6), I WAS TOLD THAT A "CAM PHASER" HAD FAILED ON THE ENGINE DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AND THAT THE ENGINE OIL WOULD NEED TO BE COMPLETELY FLUSHED AND CHANGED. AFTER A BIT OF RESEARCH, I FOUND OUT THAT THE PHASER IS A SMALL GEAR THAT REGULATES ENGINE TIMING....BY BEING CUT INCORRECTLY, METAL SHAVINGS FROM THE GEAR HAD CONTAMINATED MY ENGINE OIL. THIS, OBVIOUSLY, IS NOT AN EASY FIX. BY SCREWING UP MY ENGINE TIMING, THE REGULATION OF MY ENTIRE VEHICLE IS SCREWED UP. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE SHOP SINCE 8/6 (IT IS NOW 8/22), WITH NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT. THEY BROUGHT IN A FORD TECHNICIAN FROM GOD-KNOWS-WHERE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO FIX IT; IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED 2 DAYS AGO TO NO AVAIL. I AM NOW CLOSING IN ON THE TIME PERIOD FOR INVOKING THE NY STATE LEMON LAW; I HOPE I CAN GET MY $ BACK AND SEND THIS THING TO THE DUMP! FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THESE CRAPPY THINGS ASAP! *TR

FIRST TIME IT ALMOST COMPLETELY DIED ON ME GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY, THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT GUNNED IT AND TOOK OFF. ABOUT 3 MILES DOWN THE HIGH WAY ENGINE LIGHTS AND SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON. I GOT TO WORK AND THEY TOWED IT. THEY SAID THEY CHANGED SOME KIND OF WIRING UNDER THE FRONT WINDOW AND DASH. THAT DIDN'T FIX IT. THE NEXT DAY I WAS PULLING OUT OF WENDY'S AND GIVE IT SOME GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I ROLLED THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT GUNNED IT AGAIN. I ALMOST GOT HIT. GOT IT HOME AND PARTED IT. TOOK IT IN THE NEXT DAY AND THEY CHANGED THE THROTTLE BODY ON IT. IT STILL HESITATES AS YOU GO DOWN THE HIGHWAY. HAS VERY LITTLE TAKE OFF AND MERGING POWER. THE ONLY THING I AM GLAD I DID WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR WAS I GOT A STRAIGHT DRIVE. IT WOULD HAVE NO POWER IF IT WAS AN AUTOMATIC. *TR

I ALMOST DIED IN THIS CAR TODAY. I RENTED IT FOR MY TRIP IN MAUI. IT WAS PRACTICALLY NEW WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES ON IT, SO THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANYTHING WRONG, EVEN IF THE PEOPLE THAT RENTED IT BEFORE ME DROVE IT HORRIBLY. TODAY I DROVE IT INTO THE HILLS (UPCOUNTRY MAUI). I WAS ON A ROAD WITH A CLIFF ON THE LEFT SIDE AND A DRIVEWAY ON THE RIGHT. I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY, WHICH WAS A HILL GOING UP, AND EVERYTHING WAS INITIALLY FINE, THE CAR WAS GOING UP THE HILL JUST FINE, BUT A LITTLE OVER HALFWAY UP THE HILL THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING/MOVING. I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT IT HAD NO RPMS AND THE CAR BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS. SUDDENLY, THE TRANSMISSION (?) KICKED IN AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AT 20MPH. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL IT AND MAKE IT TO THE TOP OF THE HILL, WHERE THERE WAS A PARKING LOT. HAD THE TRANSMISSION NOT KICKED IN AT THAT SECOND, THE CAR WOULD HAVE ROLLED ALL THE WAY BACK DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND OFF THE CLIFF. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL OR NOT PRESSING THE GAS. I WAS GOING UP A HILL AND OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T WANT TO ROLL BACK, SO OF COURSE I WOULD HAVE MY FOOT PRESSED DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. THIS IS FURTHER EXHIBITED BY THE FACT THAT THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD AFTER A FEW SECONDS OF NOT MOVING, SO I DEFINITELY HAD MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR THE WHOLE TIME. I HAVE READ ONLINE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE ISSUES WITH THE CAR NOT ACCELERATING/MOVING WHILE PRESSING ON THE GAS, SO THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE. WHAT IF THIS HAPPENS TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS RIDING IT IN THE HILLS OR MOUNTAINS? PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS CAR BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY HURT. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY MY VEHICLE GOT VERY SHAKY AND UNCONTROLLABLE TO DRIVE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE NOTICED A BURNING SMELL AND SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AREA. AFTER BEING ABLE TO PULL OFF FREEWAY AND CHECK CAR WE NOTICED A HUGE TRAIL AND PUDDLE OF OIL COMING FROM MY CAR. TURNED CAR INTO FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A OIL LEAK FROM MY ENGINE OIL COOLER AND RESULTED IN A SHATTERED PISTON IN MY ENGINE FROM IT BEING STARVED OF OIL. WAS TOLD BY FORD I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE, BUT RECEIVED A "REMANUFACTURED" ENGINE LONG BLOCK FROM FORD. AFTER ALMOST 3 WEEKS I GOT THE CAR BACK AND THAT SAME DAY THE CAR STARTED TO SHUDDER AND SHAKE BADLY, EVERYTIME I START THE CAR THE CAR WOULD CRANK OVER AND TAKE 5-10 SECONDS TO ACTUALLY CATCH AND START. IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, EXHIBITS GRINDING SCRAPING THUMPING NOISES FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHILE DRIVING LOW SPEEDS. TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, FORGET IT, THE CAR GETS STUCK BUT REVS HIGH EVEN THOUGH THE SPEED WONT CHANGE. ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE LIKE A CAR SHOULD. TOLD FORD AND NOW SENDING CAR BACK AGAIN, BUT WAS GIVEN A TSB THAT THESE ARE "NORMAL" CHARACTERISTICS. IM SORRY BUT THERE IS NOTHING NORMAL ABOUT THAT AND THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP!! *TR
