I’m reporting a failure with the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in my 2014 Ford Fiesta. The vehicle has exhibited consistent issues tied to the known PowerShift DPS6 transmission defect: including gear slipping, delayed acceleration, hesitation, and sudden loss of power while driving—particularly dangerous during intersections or merging situations. Ford previously issued Customer Satisfaction Program 14M02 to address this issue, but I was told my VIN is no longer eligible due to build date. I also requested coverage under Ford’s one-time TCM replacement extension announced in 2023, which was meant to support customers outside the 10-year window through June 30, 2025—but I was denied this assistance as well. I’ve opened a formal case with Ford Customer Relationship Center under reference number CXH05170436-N7Z6Z1, after being denied support for a documented transmission control module failure. These symptoms present a clear safety risk, and the refusal to support a documented transmission failure—even under goodwill— I hope this will be reconsidered for safety investigation.

Vehicle presented to A&T Auto Repair with rotation-dependent clunking sound. This clunking started after loud metallic snapping noise occurred while coasting in gear on a flat surface. Mechanic noted that clunking noise came from the transaxle. Once the transmission fluid was drained, metallic grit and large chunks resembling gear teeth were found in fluid. A replacement transaxle was installed, along with a new "clutch kit" containing flywheel, pressure plate, and slave cylinder. Following installation and engine start up, slave cylinder leaked, prompting the order of new parts and replacement labor. According to Mechanic, four different slave cylinders from two separate manufacturers leaked in the same fashion upon engine startup, due to a "locking" malfunction of the slave cylinder. The recurrent nature of the parts failure seems to indicate a deficiency in part design that causes a fluid leak, possibly endangering driver and passengers in the event of a transmission failure.

The vehicle has experienced ongoing failures with the DPS6 PowerShift transmission system. Symptoms included slipping between gears, failure to engage 6th gear, jerky shifting, and bucking during acceleration. A transmission warning light appeared multiple times. These issues occurred daily and worsened over time. Eventually, the vehicle became unsafe to drive—it would over-rev, buck violently, and lose power during traffic conditions. A retired Ford Senior Master Technician confirmed the issue is consistent with a faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM), which is covered under Ford’s Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) 14M02. Despite this, the dealership refused to replace the TCM. Instead, they replaced a speed sensor and returned it to me. The vehicle broke down again within minutes and had to be returned. The dealership has now suggested dropping the transmission for further inspection at a cost of $2,500, rather than honoring CSP 14M02. They also encouraged me to trade in the vehicle instead of repairing it. The TCM failure has not been resolved, and the vehicle remains unsafe to drive.

Driving at highway speed, the vehicle began to switch between the 5 and 6 gear without warning several times, and a message "TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE NOW" appeared on the car's dashboard display. The car then started hard-shifting, would not shift into some of the gears, and would not move in reverse. The car had poor acceleration and limited power and it was difficult to pass and keep up with other road traffic. Dealer estimate $4400 for clutch repair internal to transmission.

This car has a standard transmission and a hydraulic clutch. The synchronizer for low gear lets it pop back out of gear. This is extremely dangerous if you are pulling out into a busy lane of traffic. It throws the shift lever back out of gear with a lot of force. I have had the hydraulics bled but plan to take it to a dealer soon. There are others listed on YouTube as having the same problem.

I was driving on the highway on October 3 and suddenly my vehicle stalled on me. When I pressed the gas pedal, the vehicle no longer moved. I had the vehicle towed to my house and had a mechanic do a diagnostics. The mechanics thinks the issue could be the computer or the transmission not communicating with the computer. The vehicle can no longer shift gear and it can not crank as well. It is very dangerous for a vehicle to stall in the middle of highway like this. The 18 wheeler behind me barely missed me and it could have been a fatality if I was hit in the rear. Thanks god I managed to pull to the center median and had a friend come help towe the vehicle to my house.

My vehicle was serviced by elk grove ford service dept. only 250 miles ago and the vehicle is back in for more service. time before did the same thing said the problem was this and when they repaired they called and said this is now wrong, I keep asking why no answer. Now the vehicle had to be taken in and I believe because I have put in complaints before that they are f with me and messing with me I told them elk grove ford [XXX] that the engine light came on and the wrench light on the engine came on, they called me and told me around march 30th that it needed this and that, they came back now and said the power train control module is needed and they cant find any part for it I found a part the advisor said the parts person looked half a day I don't believe them as see that the pcm can maybe reset they have not said to me if they tried resetting the pcm and I would like the part number. I feel I am being set up for more charges as if they would have check the wrench lamp I would not have two charges, they keep repairing items that I believe did not need to be replacement as the plugs were working find. MY 2014 FORD FIESTA HAS A MANUEL CLUTCH THAT HAS MALFUNCTIONED SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN SEPTEMBER, 2013. THE PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WOULD SOMETIMES STALL OUT AND OTHER TIMES IT WOULD NOT PROPERLY GO INTO GEAR. I WOULD HAVE TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE TO GET IT INTO GEAR. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THE CLUTCH HAS CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION OCCASIONALLY UP UNTIL THE LAST 6 MONTHS. NOW IT HAS BECOME DANGEROUS. THE CAR WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR PROPERLY MOST OF THE TIME. WHILE RUNNING, THE CLUTCH WILL KEEP PULLING EVEN THOUGH IT IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR OF THE CAR. I WAS IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC AND ALMOST HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE IT KEPT PULLING. I HAD TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT TO STOP THE PULLING. THERE ARE NO WARNINGS OF ANY KIND PRIOR TO THE FAILURE OR DURING THE FAILURE. THIS IS PUTTING MY LIFE AND OTHERS AT RISK. I ONLY HAVE 94,000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM BY FORD. IT IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPAIRED AS OF NOW.

At the time of this complaint, the Ford Fiesta that's the subject of this complaint has received 1 whole new transmission and 1 TCM replacement within 2.5 years. The first two times there were warning lights, but now no warnings are showing. To put this issue into perspective, I have only owned this car for 2.5 years, and it was purchased from a dealership used (however the dealership never mentioned the rampant transmission issues or informed me of the recent lawsuits about the Ford Fiesta). The replacement of the TCM was completed on September 16, 2021. This repair took a month to complete. Now, after being repaired for a mere 2 months, the car is exhibiting the exact same behaviors as both previous occurrences. Both previous repairs were completed by professionals, and should have fixed the issue. However, the transmission issues continue to reoccur. At this point, the car has become a major safety concern. The transmission issues are becoming extremely frequent after the "repairs" and "replacements", and are sudden in occurrence while driving. There is no warning the gear will slip into what seems to be "neutral", or that it will fail to accelerate. Additionally, the car will randomly fail to respond to gas pedal presses, especially at intersections or on hills. I fear that this car is dangerous to drive, as the issues are so sudden in nature. I have tried to settle the issue with Ford directly, but they have ignored me every step of the way. At one point, they said they would try to start a buy-back process, but then refused to return my follow-up calls.

The DSP6 transmission is slipping out of gear and into neutral. This causes the car's momentum to fall below safe advised speeds on highways, and also can cause the car to jerk suddenly at intersections. Ford knows about this issue but is refusing to repair it.

While I was driving on the interstate I was needing to shift into 5th gear, but it wouldn’t take the shift. I had to drive in the lower gears and it caused backup because I was on a toll road but couldn’t pick up speed. When I got to my destination, I realized I no longer had reverse. Mechanic says the transmission needs to be replaced bc it’s too expensive and difficult to fix, but we can’t find a transmission to fix it. He said he got it to go into 5th and reverse, but they don’t work.

Clutch pedal intermittently depresses but does not return to raised position. Clutch pedal can manually be returned to standard position but is then sometimes “sticky” after being depressed. Vehicle is a 2014 with less than 60,000 miles and is the 4th vehicle with a standard transmission I have owned. After reading on forums for this vehicle it appears that many people are having this exact same issue with the car and I suspect that it is a design defect.

FROM A DEAD STOP AT 2045 HRS CENTRAL TIME AS. I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN ON NORTHLAND AVENUE ON THE WAY TO FLORIDA AVENUE TO MY SONS HOUSE. WHEN I WENT TO TAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ONTO MEADE STREET (LOCATED IN APPLETON WIS) I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR MY ENGINE REVED BUT MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IT LURCHED SUDDENLY GRABBING POWER THEN STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. I CHECKED TO SEE THAT IT WAS IN DRIVE AND NOT IN ANY OTHER GEAR. AS I PRESSED THE GAS AGAIN THE TRANSMISSION AND CAR STRUGGLED TO ENGAGE WHAT I COULD ONLY IMAGINE WAS THE CLUTCH. FINALLY I THE CAR ENGAGED AND JERKED ME FORWARD. I WAS VERY WORRIED I WAS GOING TO GET HIT STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION ! THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW OFF THE LOT!! IT HAS 61,750 MILES ON IT! I'M A 64 YEAR OLD LITTLE OLD LADY WHO TAKES CARE OF HER CAR! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS AND UNCALLED FOR! PLEASE CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION INTO FORDS 'NON-SERVICEABLE' TRANSMISSION! YOU CAN'T EVEN ADD FLUID OR CHECK THE LEVEL OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. I'VE TOLD MY SON AT TIMES AS WELL I'VE SMELLED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS HOT TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE SMELL WAS DISTINCT. ACCORDING TO THE DEAL A BEARING CAME LOSE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION AND SHOT THROUGH THE CASING. THE TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH, AND FLYWHEEL ALL NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR A TOTAL OF $4700 PLUS TAX. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE CAR HAS 75K MILES ON IT AND SHOULD DEFINITELY NOT BE HAVING THESE ISSUES.

YOU HAVE TO KEEP SLOWING AND ACCELERATING UNTIL IT FINALLY SHIFTS. THEN THE OTHER MAJOR PROBLEM IS WHEN YOU SHIFT TO PARK IT REALLY IS NOT IN PARK. A WARNING LIGHT COMES ON THE DASH AND WARNS THE CAR IS NOT IN PARK EVEN THOUGH I HAVE PARKED AND TAKEN THE KEY OUT. IF I AM ON A SLOPE THE CAR WILL START ROLLING. YOU HAVE TO SET THE PARKING BRAKE BECAUSE THERE IS NO RELIABLE WAY TO GET IT TO GO INTO PARK. I HAVE THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS. I PURCHASED A 2014 FORD FIESTA NEW IN JANUARY 2014. IT HAS THE INFAMOUS DPS6 TRANSMISSION. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT IT IS A STANDARD TRANSMISSION IN AN AUTOMATIC BOX. IT DID THE SHUDDER FROM DAY ONE. I DIDN'T THINK THERE WAS ANYTHING WRONG BECAUSE I HAD DRIVEN MANY STANDARD TRANSMISSION VEHICLES OVER THE YEARS AND FIGURED IT WAS SUPPOSED TO ACT THAT WAY. IN JANUARY OF 2018, I HAD STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A BUSY STREET IN COLORADO SPRINGS, CO WHERE I LIVE. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND MY CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR OR GO FASTER THAN 5 MPH. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AFTER SITTING THERE FOR 20 MINUTES AND SHIFTED THE GEARS BOX FROM PARK TO NEUTRAL TO DRIVE, I FINALLY GOT BACK ON THE ROAD AND THE CAR SHIFTED BUT VERY SLOWLY. THIS WAS ON A SUNDAY. THE NEXT DAY I MADE AN SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH PHIL LONG FORD WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THEY KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THEM THAT WEEK AND THEY RAN THE VIN AND IT WAS NOT IN THE WARRANTY BATCH TO REPLACE THE CLUTCHES. THEY CALLED FORD AND ASKED THEM TO COVER THE REPAIR. FORD DECLINED. THE SERVICE ADVISER GAVE ME FORD'S 800 CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE. THEY BUILT A CASE BASED ON MY INFORMATION. A DAY LATER I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL AND EMAIL TELLING ME THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND FORD WOULD NOT GIVE ME ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. PHIL LONG FORD ESTIMATED THE REPAIR AT $2,200.00 BUT SINCE FORD WOULD NOT COVER THE COST AND I PURCHASED THE FIESTA FROM THEM, THEY DID THE REPAIR FOR $1,500.00 OUT OF POCKET COST. I'M JUST A SIMPLE WORKING MAN AND CAN'T AFFORD THOSE TYPES OF REPAIRS. I HAD TO PUT THE CHARGE ON MY CREDIT CARD. I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD DUE TO THEIR TOTAL LACK OF CONCERN AND NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY. THE CAR STILL DOESN'T OPERATE PROPERLY.

MY CAR NEVER ACCELERATED RELIABLY, ESPECIALLY IN LOWER GEARS. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD CONSTANTLY SHAKE AND SHUDDER. MY WIFE FINALLY REFUSED TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE AFTER THE CAR REPEATEDLY RESPONDED EXCEEDINGLY SLOW TO HER PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL WHEN TRYING TO CROSS TRAFFIC. SHE WOULD BE STOPPED, WAITING TO CROSS TRAFFIC. WHEN THERE WAS A LONG BREAK IN TRAFFIC, SHE'D PRESS THE GAS AND CAR WOULD CRAWL AHEAD MUCH MORE SLOWLY THAN YOU'D EXPECT WITH HOW FAR SHE PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. ONCOMING TRAFFIC WOULD THEN CATCH UP TO HER AND HAVE TO SLOW DOWN UNTIL THE CAR EVENTUALLY MADE IT ACROSS. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN I OWNED THE CAR. THE DATE I NOTE IN THE "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" FIELD REPRESENTS THE DATE I HAD THE FIRST CLUTCH REPAIR DONE ON THE CAR (AT 18,756 MILES).

GIVEN THAT I DO NOT DRIVE A LOT THIS FAILED OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY WHILE MANY OTHER HAVE GOTTEN IT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AS IT APPEARS TO FAIL ON 2014 MODELS BETWEEN 40000 AND 50000 MILES.

WHEN YOU ACCELERATE IT DOES NOT KEEP A STEADY INCREASE OF SPEED WHEN YOU APPLY THE SAME PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL, IN FACT IT WILL DOWN SHIFT INTO A LOWER GEAR AND REV TO A REALLY HI RPM .I WOULD UNDERSTAND THIS IF I WAS GIVING IT A LOT OF GAS BUT I AM NOT, AND AM FIRM ON THE GAS PEDAL. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY. BUT IT WAS SUNDAY. MONDAY I AGAIN CALLED AND WAS TOLD THAT I HAD EXTENDED COVERAGE ON THE TRANSMISSION, TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. I GOT VEHICLE AT A WELL KNOWN CAR DEALERSHIP - USED. IT WAS GIVEN '120 POINT INSPECTION' SO THE CAR WAS IN 'GOOD TO GO' CONDITION. I WALKED OUT WITH LUCKILY SOME MAX PROTECTION INSURANCE FROM THEM, WHERE THEY WOULD COVER ANY NON- WARE & TEAR REPAIRS. GREAT DECISION AT FIRST, MAYBE NOT EVEN A YEAR IN AT ROUGHLY 80K MILES THE CAR AC DOES NOT GET COOL, WHEN AT A STOP OR SLOW SPEED THE CAR WOULD START TO OVERHEAT & IN STALL - THIS IS A MANUAL VEHICLE SO YOU WOULD HAVE TO DROP GEAR IN ORDER TO GAIN SPEED BACK AND COOL THE ENGINE. THE COOLING FAN WASN'T TURNING OVER ST ANY POINT, I REPLACED THE FUSE MAYBE 3-4 TIMES AND IT KEPT BLOWING OUT. FINALLY I TOOK IT IN TO GET CHECKED OUT, APPARENTLY THE FAN RELAY FUSE WAS BLOWN OUT CAUSING THE SMALLER FUSE TO BLOW, ALL THIS RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE AC COMPRESSOR HAVING TO BE REPLACED, 2,700 IN REPAIRS WITH A DEDUCTIBLE OF 200 BUCKS. CAN'T BEAT THAT RIGHT? WRONG, HERE I AM ROUGHLY 9-10 MONTHS LATER WITH THE SAME ISSUES HAPPENING AGAIN, CAR OVERHEATING WHEN THE AC IS ON, OR AT A HAULT WITH THE FAN NOT KICKING OVER. FORD: YOU ARE A MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, YOU NEED TO MAKE A CAR / SYSTEM THAT CAN WITHTAND ARIZONA'S 110+ DEGREE WEATHER DURING THE SUMMER. I WAS VERY EARLY ON THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK AND SHAKE. I RETUNED IT FIRST FOR A DEFECTIVE TIRE, DEFECTIVE BACKUP SENSOR AND UNSAFE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. KINGS FORD (CINCINNATI OH) REPLACED THE TIRE (I HAD TO PAY FOR THE TIRE), REPLACED THE BACKUP SENSOR (WARRANTY) AND 'RESET/UPDATED' THE TRANSMISSION CONTROLS FIRMWARE. AFTER THIS, I RETUNED THE VEHICLE MULTIPLY TIMES FOR UNSAFE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. AFTER ABOUT TWO MORE TIMES OF KINGS FORD 'RESETTING/UPDATING' THE TRANSMISSION CONTROLS FIRMWARE THEY FINALLY REPLACED THE CLUTCHES. THIS WAS AT 20,000 MILES. SINCE THEN I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO KINGS FORD TWO MORE TIMES FOR UNSAFE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. EACH TIME THEY 'RESET/UPDATED' THE TRANSMISSION CONTROLS FIRMWARE. YESTERDAY, I CALLED FORD ROADSIDE TO PICKUP THE CAR AND RETURN IT TO KINGS FORD DUE TO UNSAFE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. ALSO, I HAVE ANOTHER FAULTY TIRE AND THE AIR HANDING ACTUATORS IN THE DASH ARE MAKING GRINDING SOUNDS. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLY NEAR ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE VEHICLES UNSAFE TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. THE VEHICLE HAS DISABLED ITSELF IN HIGH SPEED INTERSTATE TRAFFIC. I HAD NAVIGATE THE CAR FROM THE FAST LANE TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER WITHOUT ANY AVAILABLE POWER. I NARROWLY MISSED A SET OF LARGE COMMERCIAL TRUCKS! ONCE AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I HAD TO CYCLE THE IGNITION BEFORE THE CAR WOULD RESPOND TO ACCELERATOR INPUTS. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLY OTHER INSTANCES WHERE THE CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE CORRECTLY WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC'NEARLY BEING REAR ENDED, CERTAINLY LEADING TO A FEW ROAD RAGE INCIDENTS.

2014 FORD FIESTA 1.6L WITH " POWER SHIFT " DUAL CLUTCH 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN APRIL 2016, USED WITH 36,675 MILES FORD FACTORY CERTIFIED ( CP0 ), WITHIN 1200 MILES THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP AND SHUDDER UP HILLS, DEALER PREFORMED AN ADAPTIVE RELEARN ON THE TCM, CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. SHUDDER AND GRINDING NOISE IN REVERSE, THEN AS WELL AS IN FORWARD GEARS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AND 10,00 MILES AFTER PURCHASE OF THE CAR. TOOK CAR BACK INTO DEALER AND DEALER STATED THE CLUTCHES FAILED THE REQUIRED TEST TO DETERMINE REPLACEMENT OF THE CLUTCHES AGAIN. ( CLUTCHES WERE REPLACED AT 28K MILES WITH PREVIOUS OWNER). DEALER STATED THEY WOULD ORDER THE CLUTCHES AND NOTIFY WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT. THIS WAS AUGUST 11TH 2016 THE CAR HAD 47,268 MILES AT TIME OF SERVICE. THE DEALER NEVER ISSUED A RENTAL CAR EVEN WITH A PROBLEM AFFECTING THE TRANSMISSION WAS DETERMINED. THE INCIDENT THAT HAPPEN TODAY AUGUST 21ST 2016 THAT WARRANTED THIS COMPLAINT IS AS FOLLOWS. WHILE STOPED AT A STOP SIGN ON A RESIDENTIAL ROADWAY SHORTLY AFTER STARTING CAR, MY CAR FAILED TO SAY STOPED AND LUNGED INTO THE ROADWAY AND BROADSIDED A CAR AND THEN EVEN WITH THE BRAKES FULLY DECOMPRESSED THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AGAIN STRIKING THE CAR AGAIN AFTER TRYING TO TURN AWAY FROM THE CAR TO PREVENT THE IMPACT. IMPACT WAS MINOR AS THE TRANSMISSION WAS CAUSING THE MOVEMENT AND MY BRAKES WERE FULLY DECOMPRESSED. THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ADDRESSED THE INVOLUNTARY ENGAGEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING THE ISSUES OF LURCHING FORWARD WITHOUT USER INPUT. THERE IS NO OPEN RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. TO DATE NOTHING THAT FORD HAS DONE HAS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM PERMANENTLY AND THIS HAS CAUSED AN EXCESSIVE DEPRECIATION OF VALUE IN THIS VEHICLE. I PERSONALLY DO NOT FEEL SAFE OPERATING THIS CAR.

PURCHASED CAR IN JUNE 2014 AND IN SEPTEMBER 2014 I BEGAN SEEING THE TRANSMISSION MODULE RECALL EVERY TIME I DID A VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT TOOK IT IN EVERY TIME THE REPORT CAME BACK, EVERY TIME THE FORD PLACE I BOUGHT IT SAID THEY COULD DO NONTHING TO HELP IN EARLY MARCH THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY QUIT AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED ONLY TO HAVE THE FORD PLACE TELL ME THAT I HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. THE CAR WAS BARELY 1 1/2 YEARS OLD AND SO I DID AND THEY SAID THAT I COULD KEEP BRINGING THE CAR BACK BUT FORD WOULD NOT LET THE FIX THE MODULE DUE TO WHATEVER. THEY DID EXTEND THE TRANSMISSION WARRANTY FROM 36K TO 60 K WHICH LEADS ME TO THIS POINT I HAVE HAD THE CAR BACK AT THE DEALER AT LEAST 3 MORE TIMES EACH TIME I HAVE TO LEAVE THE CAR AND IT NEVER GETS FIXED THE MILAGE IS AT 59 K NOW AND I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALER IN ANOTHER TOWN TODAY AND THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED AND I CAME BACK TO WORK AND DID ANOTHER VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT AND IT IS STILL SHOWING AS A FACTORY RECALL I WILL UPLOAD THE REPORT TO YOU. ALSO SO THE CAR HAS HAD TO HAVE A NEW FAN PUT ON IT 2 DIFFERENT TIMES FOR OVERHEATING I CANT AFFORD TO HAVE ALL THIS WORK DONE THIS CAR HAS CAUSED ME MORE PAIN THAN I CAN DEAL WITH. FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS DUE TO THE COMPUTER "LEARNING HOW I DRIVE". I GAVE IT SOME TIME AND EVEN TRAVELED CROSS COUNTRY FROM AZ TO NC AND HAD PROBLEMS THE WHOLE WAY. IN 2015, I FINALLY HAD IT WITH HOW DANGEROUS IT WAS BECOMING TO DRIVE AND TOOK IT IN TO COMPLAIN AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY SAID IT WAS DUE TO A LEAKING CLUTCH WHICH THEY REPLACED IN A FEW DAYS. ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER THE PROBLEM BEGAN TO OCCUR AGAIN AND I TOOK IT IN TO FORD FOR TESTING AGAIN. THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE CLUTCH AND IT WOULD TAKE A COUPLE MONTHS TO GET THE NEW CLUTCH IN. IT IS NOW MARCH 2016 AND TODAY, AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST SPEED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVE WITH VEHICLES ALL AROUND, THE DASHBOARD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH A NOTIFICATION THAT SAID THE TRANSMISSION HAD MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE SERVICED NOW. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE NEAREST FORD WITH HAZARDS LIGHTS ON AS THE VEHICLE COULD NOT MAINTAIN ITS SPEED. I AM TIRED OF ALL THESE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

I PURCHASED A 2014 FIESTA WITH 17K MILES IN JANUARY 2016. SO FAR IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP LONGER THAN I HAVE OWNED IT. 2 WEEKS FOR THEM TO REPROGRAM THE TCM, REPLACE A FAULTY SEATBELT, AND REPLACE BLOWN SPEAKERS. NO LOANER. NOW THE CLUTCHES HAVE FAILED. THEY PUT ME IN A LOANER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND NOW WANT ME TO RETURN THE LOANER AND DRIVE MY CAR WITH NO CLUTCH WHILE THEY WAIT FOR PARTS. I HAVE REFUSED TO RETURN THE LOANER UNTIL MY CAR IS FIXED. I'VE ESCALTED IT ALL THE WAY UP TO CORPORATE AND NO ONE WILL HELP ME OR GET BACK TO ME. THIS HAS OCCURED ON MY CAR AFTER THE RECENT FORD FIX TO THEIR TRANSMISSION DESIGN THAT FIXED THE ROUGH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ON THE ORIGINAL DESIGN. THE SEQUENCE IS: COME TO A STOP AT A STOP LIGHT ON A HILL, CAR HOLDS THE NORMAL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FUNCTION OF HOLDING THE CAR'S POSITION, BUT WITHIN 30 SECONDS THE TRANSMISSION ASSUMES A MANUAL TRANSMISSION FUNCTION AND BEGANS TO ROLL BACKWARDS INTO THE CAR BEHIND YOU. THE CAR HESITATES WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP POSITON. SHIFTING IS IRREGULAR AND THE ENGINE RACES BETWEEN VARIOUS SHIFTS, I.E. OFTEN BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND SHIFT. DURING THIS PERIOD, I LOOSE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN DRIVING A HIGHER SPEEDS ABOVE 40 MILES/HOUR, WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, IT WILL NOT DOWN SHIFT FOR MORE POWER ACCELERATION. WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, THERE IS LIKE A GRINDING NOISE. I HAVE TAKE THIS VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO WHICH THEY TESTED THE COMPUTER AND TRANSMISSION AND DISMISS MY COMPLAINT. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES SAY THAT THIS IS NOT AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BUT INSTEAD A MANUAL SHIFT TRANS. AND THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT. PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO ENGAGE WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS PETAL TO GO, IT TOOK ALMOST A FULL SECOND AFTER PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, I WOULD ESTIMATE, BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD ENGAGE INTO 1ST GEAR. WE PURCHASED THE CAR LIGHTLY USED AND ARE THE SECOND OWNER. WE BOUGHT IT WITH ABOUT 7,500 MILES ON THE ODO. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS AND VIBRATES, SOMETIMES VIOLENTLY CAUSING A PAUSE IN THE ACCELERATION WHICH HAS SOMETIMES BEEN PROBLEMATIC IN TOUGH TRAFFIC SITUATIONS. IF STOPPED ON A HILL AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR STRUGGLES BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR AND TO ACCELERATE. WE VIEW THIS AS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES, THEY COMMON ANSWER IS THAT "IT ACTS THAT WAY BECAUSE IT HAS A TRANSMISSION THAT IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION LINKED WITH AN AUTOMATIC" AND NO ATTEMPT IS EVER MADE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ONLY ONE TIME, THEY DID A COMPUTER UPDATE, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED, AND SO WE TOOK IT BACK AND RECEIVED THE ANSWER GIVEN ABOVE. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT FUNCTION SAFELY OR APPROPRIATELY, AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. IT HAS CAUSED US A LOT OF STRESS WHEN GETTING ON HIGHWAYS OR MAJOR ROADWAYS BECAUSE OF THE ACCELERATION (OR LACK OF) ISSUE. PLUS WHEN THE CAR JOLTS, SHAKES, AND VIBRATES VIOLENTLY, YOU FEEL LIKE THE WHOLE CAR IS GOING TO BREAK APART.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE, SENSORS, NVH TAPE, STEERING WHEEL, STEERING MODULE, REPROGRAMMED MAIN COMPUTER, AND AIR BAGS WERE ALL REPLACED. A FORD ENGINEER WAS CONTACTED TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF ALL THESE FAILURES. HOWEVER, ALL FAILURES EXCEPT THE TRACTION CONTROL AND HILL ASSIST LIGHT WERE NOT RECTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ON OCTOBER 9TH 2014, MY NEW FORD FIESTA AT 7500 MILES BEGAN SHUTTERING VIOLENTLY AT LOW SPEEDS. IT JERKED THE CAR BACKWARD WHEN TRYING TO DRIVE IN REVERSE, AND IT JERKED THE VEHICLE FORWARD WHEN TAKING OFF AT A SAFE AND NORMAL ACCELERATION FROM A RED LIGHT. IT FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS ABOUT TO FALL OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. MY MOTHER AND GIRLFRIEND WERE IN THE VEHICLE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND THIS INCIDENT PRESENTED A GREAT SAFETY CONCERN. DUE TO BEING IN THE MILITARY, I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER 2014 TO TAKE MY CAR TO FORD. THEY TESTED THE VEHICLE AND SAID THAT THEY RECOGNIZED THE SHUDDER I COMPLAINED ABOUT AND THEY RESET THE COMPUTER IN THE VEHICLE. ON THE REPORT THEY SAID THE VEHICLE WAS IN FACTORY SPECS, SO AS A RESULT OF THAT REPORT, THEY DIDN'T ORDER NEW CLUTCHES AND SEALS WHICH WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THOSE NEW PARTS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. INSTEAD THEY JUST DID A TEMPORARY FIX BY RESETTING THE COMPUTER IN ORDER TO GET ME OUT THE DOOR. I PICKED UP THE CAR DECEMBER 5TH 2014 AND 6 DAYS LATER THE SHUDDER RETURNED. NOW I HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY MARCH 30TH 2015 AND THE AGENT THERE SAID THAT IF THE TEST COMES BACK THAT THE CAR IS IN FACTORY SPECS THEY WONT MAKE ANY REPAIRS ON THE VEHICLE AND CALL ME TO PICK UP MY BROKEN VEHICLE. THIS WILL RESULT IN ME DRIVING A SAFETY HAZARD VEHICLE THAT I STILL OWE $17,000 ON WITH NO REPAIRS BEING DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I NEED HELP! 2014 FORD FIESTA SE WITH ABOUT 15,000 MILES STARTED HAVING SHUTTERING PROBLEMS THAT ARE EXTREMELY VIOLENT AND COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND IS THOUGHT TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN TO DRIVER AND OTHERS ON ROAD. I HAVE OWNS THIS CAR SINCE BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE POWERTRAIN AROUND 14000 MILES. THE PROBLEM IS A SEVERE SHUTTER PROBLEM WHEN YOU ACCELERATE. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS PROBLEM WHEN IT IS HAPPENING IS TO LET THE GAS PEDAL OUT OF GIVE IT A LOT MORE GAS. THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED FROM 5 MPH TO 50 MPH THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED IT. THE SHUTTER JERKS THE DRIVER FORWARD AND BACKWARD VERY FORCEFULLY. I TOOK THE CAR IN UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD THAT THE THIS IS NORMAL AND SENT BACK HOME. AT 15000 MILES I TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY SAID THE DUAL CLUTCH SEAL WAS LEAKING AND THEREFORE RUINED THE CLUTCH. THEY REPLACED ALL PARTS AND CALLED TO SAY IT WAS COMPLETE. THEY LEFT VOICEMAIL, AND WHEN I CALLED DEALERSHIP BACK THEY SAID THE NEW PARTS HAD BROKE WHILE ON THE TEST DRIVE AND THEY HAD TO ORDER EXACT PARTS AGAIN. DEALERSHIP TOOK ANOTHER FEW DAYS TO FIX AND THEN I RECEIVED THE CAR. NOW FEB 2015 CAR IS DOING EXACT SAME THING AND HAS 24000 MILES ON. 2014 FORD FIESTA AUTO WITH 4982 HAS DEVELOPED A SERIOUS JUDDERING AND LOSS OF POWER WHEN MOVING AWAY FROM STAND STILL OR ACCELERATING AT LOW SPEED. IN REALITY, THE TRANSMISSION HASN'T EVER FUNCTIONED CORRECTLY, AND ON EACH DEALERSHIP TRIP, A LETS-TRY-THE-NEXT-STEP APPROACH IS TAKEN. FIRST A ENGINE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP WAS CLEARED FOR A KNOWN FIRMWARE BUG IN THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM), FOR A PROBLEM WHOSE FIX WAS NOT YET RELEASED BY FORD. NEXT, THE TCM WAS UPDATED. DRIVEABILITY IMPROVED FOR A WHILE BUT THEN DEGRADED AGAIN, GETTING WORSE DAY BY DAY. NEXT, THE TCM COULDN'T BE UPDATED (IT WAS ALREADY UP TO DATE) SO A NEW CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS ORDERED. FINALLY, THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, BUT NOT THE TRANSMISSION INTAKE SEALS BECAUSE THEY WERE BROWN (LATEST SPEC?). IT HAS ONLY BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE THE MOST RECENT REPAIR (CLUTCH REPLACEMENT) BUT THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE NEW CLUTCHES WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL IN EXACTLY THE SAME WAY AS FORD HAS NOT YET CORRECTED THE UNDERLYING ISSUE.
