Low pressure oil light came on and I stopped driving it 18 miles later drove about 25-30 mph hoping it wouldn’t seize on me before I got home. because I figure the oil pump is clogged with timing belt fragments and I can’t afford to replace the timing belt right now. Afraid to drive it because I have read it could seize up the engine. 1.0 eco boost manual transmission. Car ran great and I had no issues with it until the low pressure oil light came on. Been sitting since March. I have started it 4 times since then and it has been moved around the yard but never ran longer than a few minutes. Still starts just afraid with the low pressure oil light on that it could seize up if I drive it again.

This vehicle has experienced the exact issue of a Ford recall for other model year fiestas. The oil pump belt has experienced premature wear and failure, leading to a sudden loss of power. My local Ford dealer says that this vehicle should have been included in Ford recall #23S64 and that I should report this to NHTSA to document and hopefully expand the recall to all years that result in this issue.

In 2020, Documents were subpoened proving that Ford falsified doors and used a dangerous faulty transmission in Ford Fiesta and Focus Moodels from 2011-2015. There were so many lawsuits, they settled through arbitration. The judicial system only required an extended waranty- no recall or redesign. These vehicles are dangerous, and when transmission overheats, the cars stop in the middle of the road. Many will not go in Reverse. Ford is recouping their arbitration settlement money by continuing to sell these cars on the Used Car Market with the same DPS6 Transmissions which they knew were faulty and dangerous, and falsified documents about, with Clean Car Faxes, often low mileage- because heat starts transmission failure, and that is not fair. The pledge does not say...."WitH liberty and justice for ALL WHO CAN AFFORD IT!" I HAVE AMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED TWICE, because car stops when Trans gets hot. One driver of a 4'4 truck, speeding around a blind spot, swerved into oncoming lane, rolled down his window, pointed a pistol at me, cursing because I ALMOST made HIM WRECK! although my safety flashers were on. There are no shoulders on these rural roads. This car is DANGEROUS! WHY WAS FORD ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH THIS? Falsification of documents about a cars safety is fraud. There are tens of thousands with Clean Car Faxes still being sold unfairly to unknowing victims with modest incomes who TRUST CAR FAX DOCUMENTATION.

In May, my 2015 Ford Fiesta SE went into "limp mode" before reaching the speed limit of 25mph. Immediately afterwards it was taken into a local shop, Mobile Mechanic, where no codes were active and coolant level was between min and max level. Next day, car experienced misfiring check engine light and overheating before being looked at by a mechanic. Mechanic replaced spark plugs due to code reading misfiring in cylinder 3. Car still continued to misfire and due to slight lower level of coolant, Engine overheated and cracked a cylinder block in the 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. This car is used to travel with two children under [XXX] and [XXX]. The beginning of June the car overheated on a hot day traveling home with the two kids and myself. We had to sit in the heat for close to an hour before temperature gauge returned to normal, I checked the coolant and it was still between min and max levels. On the same trip, it was on the verge of overheating again due to climbing the hill before our house. After finding out the cylinder block was cracked by my mechanic we discovered there has been a recall issue with the same engine, Recall 17S09, that began in January 2018, a month before I purchased my car from Redwood Ford in Ukiah California ([XXX]). I called W. C. Sanderson Ford in Healdsburg, California on July, 15th, 2025 to see if it would be possible to see if this recall was actually fixed on my vehicle, which they responded that the recall has nothing to do with my car and they can't do anything about my car. The representative specifically said that due to my car being 10 years old it has been disqualified of the recall and is no longer attached to my VIN. I have taken this car to the same local mechanic 4 times since the ending of May, 2025 for the same issues before we discovered the cracked cylinder block, mechanic took pictures of fluid and water inside cylinder 3. There is a recall (Recall no. 17V209000) that my VIN should have been included in but is not. My vehicle was not equipped with a coolant level sensor from the factory and does not alert to low coolant levels in the vehicle, which can lead to overheating, engine damage, and potential engine fire. The recall fix is a new updated coolant tank design, the inclusion of a coolant level sensor, and a software update for the function of said sensor.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer then referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. On 3/10/2025, when driving my 2015 Ford Fiesta SE, I experienced a sudden failure consisting of a "lurch", lost all drive power to the vehicle, and had to use inertia to steer myself out of traffic to the shoulder of the road. After exiting the vehicle, I inspected all tires (no issues) and popped the hood (no visible issues like smoke). I requested emergency roadside assistance to tow my vehicle to the nearest mechanic shop. After troubleshooting the vehicle, the shop confirmed that all fluid levels were okay and the timing belt had failed, specifically noting that the manufacture-recommended PMI is at 150,000 miles and my vehicle only had 118,579 miles. What component failed = Timing belt. Is it available for inspection = It can be. How was safety at risk = Losing all mechanical power while going up a grade in heavy traffic. Has the problem been confirmed = Yes, by an independent service center. Has the vehicle been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance = No, but I did call Ford's service line to notify them; no action taken on their part. Any warnings = No sounds, no transient loss of power, no warning lights; just a sudden "bang" and "lurch".

For as long as I've had my car - 2017 till now - it's had what I term a "hiccup" after receiving gas. The engine would slightly shudder for the first 5-10 minutes after I filled the car with gas. This was not from overfilling the tank as I never max out the tank. I didn't think much about this until a few months ago. A few minutes after filling my car with gas, the engine shuddered severely and the RPM dropped to zero. This caused the engine to die and left me unable to exit from the turn lane. No warning lights appeared on my dash. I turned on the hazard lights and rolled down the window, but eventually all the lights inside the car died. I was stuck in a left turn lane, unable to move. I had to stick my hand out the window to direct other cars to drive around me. I requested a tow via my car insurance company and the drive arrived within ~15 minutes. The tow truck driver was able to restart my car and we towed it to the local Ford Service center. I explained the issue to the service department, but they were unable to replicate the issue and thus did not resolve it. Since then, the same issues has occurred every time I refill the gas tank. Regardless of how much gas is added or how full the tank was after receiving gas. After adding gas, I have begun immediately parking at the gas station to wait out the engine shudders. They do stop after ~10 minutes, but during that time they have caused the engine to die again. In the past weeks, I've also begun to observe a minor engine shudder even when stopped at a red light. I have never observed a warning light. Online research has shown a number of other people experiencing this issue. It seems the likely cause is a faulty fuel vapor purge valve. This valve may be allowing liquid fuel to flow to the engine, causing the engine to shudder and die. I will be taking my car to a different service center in hopes of the issues being resolved and not getting stranded again. Oil pickup is clogged in sump, preventing proper oiling of engine, in turn effecting air vacuum pump, in turn sporadically effecting brake effectiveness. Brake pedal is suddenly stiff and car does not slow down. Oil warning light on cluster illuminates, but not always.

Depressed clutch to slow down and turn left. When mostly through the turn shifted into 3rd gear and attempted to accelerate through the end of the turn. There wasn't any acceleration the engine had stopped running. Local shop said that the engine has low compression and will not start.

My car has been under recall now for the transmission or chip in the transmission. The car keeps jerking, stalls randomly and sometimes won't work. It's been confirmed by the Palatka FL Ford dealership. I originally took it to the Ford in Ocala FL, but they keep refusing to fix it. Now the Palatka one is saying they can't because they don't have a chip. They're refusing to buy it back or work with me on it. I am the original owner, bought it strait off the lot and it was made in 2015. It's only 8 years old, but I've stalled now multiple times on the highway, in traffic on the way to work, and at gas stations. I want this fixed ASAP, according to the laws they have to work with me on this. I just don't know how to get them to work with me.

1 year ago I spent over $1,000 fixing everything on this car, no one offered any info. about Recalls. At 21,000-23,000 miles only. I noticed some odd shuddering at low speeds. Like shaking, but only going slower. Then it did other things, seemed like maybe it was when parking or backing up. Car would switch to Neutral. On its own. Another: the car kept STARTING. I have a Remote Starter, I removed RS, still doing it. I'll find car running by itself. WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION. I have 2 year old battery from Costco, under warranty. Last week, coming home, car LOST all power, nearby, able to glide into garage. Spent days checking, terminals, fuses, everything. Battery SHOULD be 12.5 amps, it was 3.5 amps. So could NOT be jump-started. Had towed to Costco, then Midas. $1,100 later got ride to pick up, start car, dashboard now has orange wrench, said: "Transmission Malfunction! Service Now!" Sunday, Midas closed, no choice but drive home, 10 miles. Dad drove me, stopped to eat, when came out after 2 hours, THE CAR WAS RUNNING! In the parking lot, ALL BY ITSELF! THE KEY WASN'T IN THE IGNITION! Key was in my purse way inside restaurant. It was SCARY. Then Shifting was messed up, on small hill, kick back, forth, not enough power. Don't drive stick shifts/manuals, but each gear was struggling. Also shaking, thought would stall. When home, car WOULDN'T TURN OFF! Removed key, CAR KEPT RUNNING - NO KEY! Online, see Recalls, transmission lawsuits, everything. Own TWO FORD FIESTA SE's, NEVER sent anything about. In press, Ford lies, say owners told. Called 5 local Ford dealerships, ALL playing game of "What recall?" "What transmission issues?" I have to pay $300+ have error codes run, IF recall, maybe they'll pay, "Probably Extended Warranty." What Extended Warranty? 2015 Ford Fiesta SE w/ 50,000 miles. I'll say this: I'm 100% DISABLE I use car for SSA Ticket to Work program, delivering Amazon. I'm losing $150 every day. I can't go to store, get my mail, dr. appts., I'm trapped.

This goes with Incident 11500972 2015 Ford Fiesta SE purchased 2.8.18 Crest Ford in Center Line, MI Right away, began having issues. Taken in to Dealership 9.18.18. In 2019, I contacted them 3-4 times, asking when I could bring in for Recall on ignition, which was Warranty. On 3.9.20, took to Costco, engine had no power, wouldn't go above certain speeds, felt like it would stall. Said needed new battery, which I purchased. Seemed OK when picked up, lights on dash off. Immediately came back on with same problems. Next day, on 3.10.20 again contacted the Dealership, my complaint via email: "Repair Services: Put in a new battery, immediately brought up submarine, wrench, Check Transmission now on screen. Was told it's under Recall or an Extended Powertrain warranty. Also has 2 other official recalls on it would like fixed while it's there." In addition, I told them it would not go above certain speeds, so shifting is broken, feels like it will stall out. Invoice from Crest Ford: "Customer states the wrench light is on, he feels like the vehicle will not shift past 3rd gear as well, a new battery was put in and after that the vehicle started to have more issues" and "Corrected by Tech: [XXX] Warranty Installed AE8Z 7Z369 F:MODULE - TRANSMISSION CONT Qty: 1 Warranty Installed WPR:WARRANTY PART RETURN Qty: 1 Warranty trans warning message on, wrench light on, ids ck found fault po606, replaced and reprogrammed tcm per 14m02, relearned adaptive memories 3 and road tested ok at this time" These are all items Ford Fiesta RECALL, replaced, repaired. NOW BROKEN AGAIN. They Installed AE8Z 7Z369 F: MODULE - TRANSMISSION CONT, Installed WPR: WARRANTY PART RETURN The issues are SAME as now: "trans warning message on, wrench light on" These issues were already repaired, and again, after a new battery was installed, needs expensive parts, dx, I don't have car to drive as it won't go above certain speed! Goes with Incidents: 11501018, 11501025, 11500972 & 11500985 I am 100% Disabled, but work occasionally via SSA Ticket to Work program, for Amazon, using Ford Fiesta to deliver packages. 9.11.22 at 4:30AM delivering package to [XXX], on North side of road. As I backed out of driveway, now facing East, and busy road, Hiller Rd. I had only just gotten in, NO seatbelt on backing up. Switched from Reverse to Drive, foot still on brake, car took off, as if I'd stomped on accelerator, but my foot was on brake still. Hitting brakes, I flew almost to Hiller Rd., brakes not working, car speeding, steering worked. Tried to slow down, was on South side of road, on people's lawns. Going so fast, I went into ditch, then came up out of ditch! Narrowly avoided mailboxes. Last house before Hiller Rd. on my right, tried to slow down in large lot next door, didn't work. They have huge boulders along edge of grass, I not only slammed into a boulder, but they had chopped down trees too, laid them down along edge of grass with boulders. Car went UP, against gravity, ONTO one of these trees, before hitting the boulder. If you can imagine, from hood to bumper, and further out each end, I was UP, on top of a tree, the bumpers dug into it, so the 4 tires were loose on each side, front hit boulder. Hadn't put on seatbelt yet, my head slammed into steering wheel, airbags didn't deploy again, $400 cell phone screen split, cracked. I hit my head so hard, it knocked me out, I'm not sure how long, seconds to minutes. Came to, was on tree, tried to somehow dig car out, with flashlight and crowbar. Ended up calling Amazon emergency, it was Sunday, too early, not there. Called Geico, then 3 other tow co.'s, after 2 hours Lakeside Towing came by, had to use winch and flatbed, had to chop up tree was on, pull back from boulder. Was stuck there for hours. CAR DISPLAYED LOW COOLANT ON DISPLAY. ADDED COOLANT AND COOLANT LIGHT WENT AWAY. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR COULD NOT DRIVE FASTER THAN 20 MPH. TOOK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE COOLING SYSTEM HAD OVERHEATED AND CAUSED THE OIL TO END UP IN THE CYLINDER. THE COOLING SYSTEM OVERHEATED 1.5 YEARS AGO AND HAD THE THERMOSTAT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. NOW VEHICLE HAS 71,000 MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY. FORD DEALER SAYS THAT THE WHOLE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT HAS 1.0L ECOBOOST ENGINE WHICH APPARENTLY HAS MANY ISSUES.

AFTER FILLING UP MY TANK, I LEFT THE GAS STATION AND IMMEDIATELY APPROACHED A RED LIGHT. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP, MY ENGINE RPM DIPPED AND MY VEHICLE STALLED OUT. I HAVE NOTICED RPM DIPPING THAT OCCURS WHEN I STOP AT A RED LIGHT, USUALLY AFTER I ADD FUEL. OTHER THAN THIS STALL EVENT REPORTED, I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANOTHER, BUT THE RPM DIPS DO OCCUR OFTEN, AGAIN, AFTER ADDING GAS OR FILLING MY TANK. THE DIPPING PERSISTS USUALLY FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES AFTER ADDING FUEL. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO RESTART MY CAR RIGHT AWAY WITH NO TROUBLE. RPM DIPPING WAS OBSERVED AT EACH STOP ON MY WAY HOME. THE RESIVOUR CAP, SIEZED UP FIRST TIME I WAS TRYING TO ADD COOLANT. IT TOOK ALONG TIME GET IT OFF! LITTERLY HAD TO BREAK CAP INTO PIECES. AND WITH OEM PART CAP. FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED IT? IN NOW IT'S, OVERHEATS AND NO VISIBLE COOLANT LEAK. AND THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.. THE MOTOR MAKES A CLACKING SOUNDS. THE 1.0 TURBOCHARGE 3-CYL TURBO IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. PLUS IT'S ENGINE BAY FUSE BOX SAYS ENGINE FAN IS 60 AMPS IN RECENTLY I NOTICED IT HAS HAD A 40 GAGE AMP. THANK THAT THE UNDER THE HOOD ENGINE FAN. WASN'T PERFORM AT THE RECOMMENDED FUSE.. IT ALSO AT START UP AND SITTING STILL AT MOTOR BOG'S DOWN LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO CUT OFF. KNOW THE OVERHEAT PROUBLEM'S. IF I'M SITTING STILL IN NEUTRAL AND I TURN THE AC ON FULL-BLAST IT STAYS AT 4 BARS WHICH IS NORMAL FOR AS LONG AS I WANT AND IT DOESN'T OVER HEAT ? BUT, SOON AS I PUT IT IN 1ST GEAR AND TRY TO DRIVE IT WILL OVERHEAT, NOT EVEN GOING 10FT AND I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE AC AND PUT IT ON THE HEAT. FULL BLAST! WITHIN A FEW MINUTES IT SLOWLY GOES DOWN. BUT KNOW THAT IT'S JULY IF IT'S ANYTHING OVER 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE I HAVE TO TURN HEAT ON FULL BLAST BEFORE MAKING IT 1-BLOCK OR IT OVERHEATS. IN I HAVE KEPT A CLOSE WATCH ON THE COOLANT LEVEL, AND I HAVE WATCHED YOUTUBE VIDEOS AND ETC? TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG. IN ALL MY PARTS STORE LOCATION DON'T HAVE ANY THING FOR MY YEAR MAKE MODEL NOTHING. I GOT THIS CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP A YEAR AGO OF THE MONTH JULY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT SHOULD KEEP THE RECEIPTS IN CASE OF A RECALL. NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. LAST TIME WHEN, PULLED OVER, AFTER LOSING POWER, IN CITY TRAFFIC, HOOD WAS RAISED TO CHECK FAN, AND THE FAN WAS RUNNING BUT THIS IS WHAT DEALERSHIP REPLACED. OVERHEATING SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN STOPPED IN CITY TRAFFIC. OVERHEATING LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN THERE'S A POWER LOSS. MY ENGINE BLEW A HEAD GASKET BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE OVERHEATED. THE COOLING SYSTEM OVERHEATED. SO I HAD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER MOTOR FOR MY VEHICLE. THE MOTOR THAT WAS INSTALLED IS DOING THE SAME THING. THE COOLING SYSTEM IS OVERHEATING AND WHEN IT DOES I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR AND WAIT UNTIL IT COOLS OFF. I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE. I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE AND CANNOT DRIVE IT A LONG DISTANCE WITHOUT IT OVERHEATING. I DRIVE 50 MILES FROM MY JOB AND CANNOT DRIVE MY VEHICLE THAT LENGTH OF DISTANCES WITHOUT MY GAUGE SHOWING OVERHEATING. ATTACHED TO THIS IS A COPY OF THE INVOICE THAT SHOWS PROOF THAT I HAVE HAD ANOTHER MOTOR INSTALLED AND THE REASON IT WAS INSTALLED.

PULLING INTO DRIVEWAY VEHICLE RUNS HOT. EVERYTHING POINTS TO COOLANT SENSOR READING INCORRECTLY. SEARCH RECALLS AND FIND THAT MY VEHICLE ISN'T EFFECTED YET THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL FOR SAME VEHICLE AND ENGINE SIZE USING THE SAME EXACT SENSOR. WORKED FOR FORD FOR 20 YEARS. HOW AND WHY ARE YOU ALLOWING FOR TO LIE AS TO THE PROBLEM WITH A POTENTIAL FIRE BEING A HEAD GASKET AND NOT THE FAULTY SENSOR THAT IS HAVING TO BE REPLACED? LET ME ANSWER THAT. SO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO RECALL EVERY SINGLE CAR THAT HAS THE SENSOR WHICH IS EVERY SINGLE ONE. LET'S ADD TO THIS THE FACT THAT FORD CAN THEN CLAIM THAT EVERYONE LEFT WITH AN OVERHEATED ENGINE WITH CRACKED HEADS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE AND NOT THE SENSOR THAT INCORRECTLY ADJUST FOR THE SYSTEM PRESSURE AND INCORRECTLY READS THE TEMPS. THE WRENCH LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. IT WOULD HAPPEN IN BOTH CITY AND INTERSTATE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WOULD GO INTO LIMP MODE AND I WOULD JUST BARELY BE ABLE TO GET ON TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE IN 70 MPH TRAFFIC. STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE WOULD ALLOW NORMAL OPERATION FOR ABOUT 5 MILES. THE PROBLEM WOULD THEN OCCUR AGAIN. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED A BAD THROTTLE BODY WITH A CODE OF P2011. I'VE READ THAT FORD HAS A HISTORY OF THESE PROBLEMS WITH THROTTLE BODIES. IT SEEMS THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THE ISSUE ON NEWER MODELS.

SHORTLY AFTER HAVING THE CAR, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED BEING JUMPY, LOSING POWER AT TAKE OFF AND ACTING LIKE IT WILL STALL OUT. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS FOR FORD DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT. DID SUCEED WITH ONE OF THE ATTEMPTS AND THEY SAID THEY RESET COMPUTER. THAT DID NOT WORK. THE OTHER TIMES THEY TELL ME THAT THEY CANNOT FIX AND THEY ARE WORKING ON FINDING A SOLUTION TO FIX. I HAVE TRIED TO TRADE IN AND THEY TELL ME NOW IT IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT HALF OF WHAT WE BOUGHT A YEAR AGO. MY FAMILY FEELS VERY UNSAFE IN THIS CAR AND VERY DISSATISFIED WITH ASHEVILLE FORD.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEAD GASKET FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SHOCKS WERE LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. THE CONSUMER STATED ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER BRINGING THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND THE BACK PASSENGER'S DOOR HANDLES STARTED PEELING. THE DEALER SUGGESTED FOR THE CONSUMER TO BUY TOUCH UP PAINT, AS THEY WOULD NOT REPAINT THE HANDLES. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO SWITCH HARD BETWEEN GEARS AND LUNGED FORWARD FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. AFTER HAVING THE HEAD GASKET REPLACED, THE VEHICLE DRIVES HOT AND SHAKES AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT BEGAN STICKING WHILE MOVING IT FROM DRIVE, TO REVERSE TO PARK.
