The contact owns a 2013 Ford Flex. The contact recently purchased the vehicle. When the vehicle was purchased, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had a failure with the steering wheel. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel was difficult to maneuver. The message "Service Advancetrac" was displayed on the instrument panel, and an unknown message about the steering was displayed. In addition, while in reverse(R), the contact used force to turn the steering wheel. Most recently, the contact stated that when the turn signal lever was activated, the turn signal lever failed to stay down as intended. The contact had to hold the turn signal lever down to signal a right or left turn. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the dealer related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (STEERING). However, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 131,785.

The front drivers door latch. When the door is shut their is an alarm stating that the door is ajar. Per Ford their is a Customer Satisfaction Program 19N09 for it. I bought this vechicle Monday June 20, 2022. Per Ford they notified me of this issue as well but they will not fix it as it is past the 84,000 miles/7 years as well as the 120,000 miles and July 31, 2020. This vechile per the records has been services at Thoroughbred Ford in Kansas City, MO since the day it was bought and yet it has not been fixed? And now they are not willing to fix it.
NOW REPLACING THE FUEL MODUAL SENSOR FOR THE 3RD TIME IN 5YRS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR OTHER FORD VEHICLES. CAR WILL NOT START AND NEEDS TO BE TOWED EACH TIME. FRONT PASSENGER DOOR SENSOR DOESN'T WORK AND INTERIOR LIGHT REMAINS ON UNTIL VEHICLE REACHES 10MPH. INTERIOR LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF AND BATTERY DRAINS.
LEFT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR ALARM COMES ON RANDOMLY AND CAUSES THE DOME LIGHT TO STAY ON AND DRAIN THE BATTERY WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY. UNSAFE WHEN IT HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AS IT IS HARD TO SEE THE ROAD AND CAUSES STRESS TO THE DRIVER AND TO PASSENGERS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN AS THE DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHOLE MOVING.

PASSENGER FRONT DOOR AJAR WARNING IS DISPLAYED, EVEN THOUGH DOOR IS CLOSED AND LOCKED. BECAUSE THE COMPUTER THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON CAUSING A VISIBILITY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. ALSO, WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE AND LOCKING THE DOORS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR 10-15 MINUTES.THIS WILL DRAW ATTENTION TO THE VEHICLE AND LET PASSERBY'S VIEW THE INTERIOR CONTENTS LEFT IN THE VEHICLE FOR POSSIBLE THEFT. THIS STARTED AS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND NOW IS CONSTANT EVERY TIME THE DOOR IS OPENED AND CLOSED, THERE IS NO CHANGE OF THE PASSENGER DOOR AJAR STATUS.

THE VEHICLE INCORRECTLY BELIEVES THE DOORS ARE OPEN WHEN THEY ARE SHUT. THIS PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING AT ALL SPEEDS, WHICH IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION. IF AN OCCUPANT TRIES TO LOCK THE DOORS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY UNLOCKS THE DOORS. THE ISSUE ALSO CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ILLUMINATED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND UNTIL THE VEHICLE REACHES AN APPROPRIATE SPEED WHEN IN USE. THE OPEN/CLOSED STATE OF THE DOOR CHANGES AT RANDOM (WITHOUT THE ACTUAL DOOR BEING OPENED OR CLOSED) AND CAUSES THE ALARM TO RANDOMLY GO OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED. THE COMBINATION OF THE LIGHTS STAYING ILLUMINATED AND THE ALARM GOING OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED DRAINED AND RUINED THE BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE. JUMP STARTING THE VEHICLE DID NOT WORK AND THE BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED.

MAKES IT HARD TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AS THE DOME LIGHT REMAINS ON FOR MINUTES AFTER DRIVING MAKING REDUCING VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. WITH THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON, MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE DOOR IS OPEN OR CLOSED. DUE TO THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT, THE DOME LIGHT CONSTANTLY REMAINS CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE BATTERY. FIXED ONE SENSOR ALREADY, NOW ANOTHER DOOR SENSOR IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, ALONG WITH MY TRUNK SENSOR MALFUNCTIONING EVERY TIME I HIT ANY LITTLE BUMP. THE LIGHTS COME ON AS SOON AS WE START THE CAR, WHETHER MOVING OR PARKED.

AND THE LIGHT ON IN THE CAR WILL STAY ON ALL NIGHT BECAUSE IT THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. I HAVE SEEN THIS AS AN ISSUE FOR MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN THE FORD FLEX AS WELL. WITH THE DOORS NOT LOCKING DURING DRIVING AND BATTERY DRAINAGE THIS CONCERNS ME AS A MOTHER.

FALSE NOTIFICATION LEADS TO DOME LIGHTING AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS STAYING ON. BATTERY WAS DRAINED AND REPLACED IN JUNE 2017. DOORS FAIL TO LOCK USING AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK WHILE IN MOTION. DEALER DETERMINED IT WAS A FAULTY DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY WHICH SEEMS TO BE IMPACTING OTHER FORD VEHICLES.

IT IS DRAINING MY BATTERY MY BATTERY IS GOING BAD BECAUSE OF IT I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. I NEED THIS FIXED. I HAVE TRIED MANUALLY LOCKING THE DOORS WHILE I'M DRIVING AND THE DOOR LOCKS WILL AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK THEMSELVES. I DON'T FEEL SAFE KNOWING THAT SOMEONE COULD JUST JUMP IN MY CAR OR OPEN ONE OF MY BACK DOORS WHERE MY TWO CHILDREN SIT. WHEN I TALKED TO SOMEONE AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP, HE SAID THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON COMPLAINT (CERTAINLY HELD UP BY ONLINE COMPLAINTS) THAT THIS HAS BEEN A FAULT WITH THE CAR.
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR COMES ON WHEN YOU GET IN AND CLOSE THE DOOR.WHILE DRIVING THE SHIFT TO PARK WARNING SENSOR COMES ON WHEN YOU STOP OR YIELD.THIS HAPPENS OVER AND OVER WHILE DRIVING. IT'S SENSING DOOR AJAR THEREFORE LEAVES ALL DONE LIGHTS ON.IF YOU SLAM DOOR REALLY HARD SOMETIMES LIGHTS WILL GO OFF BUT YOU HAVE TO SIT AND WATCH TO MAKE SURE.AT NIGHT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE.VERY UNSAFE.SOMETIMES I HAVE TO DISCONNECT BATTERY IN FEAR OF IT DYING AND THEN BE LEFT STRANDED.THEY SAID IT'S THE DOOR HINGE AND PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR 20 MORE DAYS, I CAN'T IMAGINE DEALING WITH THIS FOR THAT LONG FOR SURE I'M GONNA NEED A NEW BATTERY.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS CAME ON AND SENSOR SAID REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR. SINCE LIGHTS CAME ON IN CAR DURING THE NIGHT MY VISION WAS EFFECTED. THIS HAS NOW BECOME AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND THE LIGHTS WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN I'M TRYING TO LOCK THE CAR. I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AND TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT THE ISSUE, THAT SAID THEY COUL NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND IF IT PERSISTS THEY CAN DRIVE THE CAR FOR 30 MILES TO SEE IF IT GOES OFF AGAIN.

I HAVE A 2013 FORD FLEX SEL WITH 60K+ MILES ORIGINALLY PURCHASED WITH 13K MILES IN 2013. I HAVE HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH MY DOOR LATCH. I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH ALL DOORS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MY LEFT BACK DOOR. I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE LOOKED AT MULTIPLE TIMES AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP WITH MOST RECENTLY THIS PAST WEEKEND. THE MECHANIC ATTEMPTED TO CLEAN MY DOOR LATCHES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE (FRONT AND BACK) DOORS AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I AM UNABLE TO LOCK MY DOORS. I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOOK EACH DOOR BY ROLLING DOWN MY WINDOWS AND GETTING OUT AND MANUALLY PUSHING DOWN THE LOCK. HOWEVER, WHILE DRIVING MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT WILL COME BACK ON AS WELL AS MY INSIDE LIGHTS,MY DOORS WILL AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK. I CAN'T TURN MY ALARM ON AND 75% OF THE TIME LEAVE MY DOORS UNLOCKED. I ASSUME MY DOOR IS PROMPTED AS IF SOMEONE IS TRYING TO OPEN MY DOOR WHEN MY CAR IS OFF WHICH IN RETURN CAUSES MY ALARM TO GO OFF. THIS IS THE THIRD DOOR JAM MODULE THAT HAS WENT BAD. DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, PASSENGER DOOR AND NOW THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR. IT SAYS THE DOOR IS NOT SHUT. FORD IS NOT WANTING TO OWN TO THIS MESS AND THE VENDOR HAS INSTALLED FAULTY DOOR JAM SWITCHES THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT DURING THE DAY HE KEEPS THE LIGHTS ON, DRAINING THE BATTERY. AT NIGHT, WHILE DRIVING IT LEAVES THE INNER LIGHTS ON AND IS HARD TO DRIVE WITH LIGHTS ON THIS INSIDE AND AT NIGHT YOU CANNOT LOCK YOUR CAR BECAUSE IT SETS OFF THE CAR ALARM. THIS IS THE LAST FORD I WILL BUY. PLEASE MAKE A RECALL ON THIS .

I HAVE TWO ISSUES WITH THIS FORD FLEX 1. DOOR IS COMPLETLY CLOSED BUT IT THINKS IT'S OPEN, THE LIGHTS STAYS ON IN CABIN AND DISTRACTING PROMPTS APPEAR ON DASH WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR ALARM SOUNDS AT NIGHT RANDOMLY BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. THE BATTERY IS DRAINED OVER TIME SINCE THE LIGHTS STAY ON LONGER. 2. THE TRUNK DOOR DOES NOT OPEN ALL THEY UP. NO MATHER FROM WHAT BUTTON IS PRESSED, KEY, TRUNK OR FROM THE SIDE DASH THE DOOR ONLY OPENS HALF WAY AND CLOSES RIGHT BACK. WE NEED TO MANUALLY PUSH THE DOOR UP TO COMPLETLY OPEN THE TRUNK DOOR, SAME FOR CLOSING.

THE DOOR FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR WENT BAD AND TELLS CAR THAT DOOR IS AJAR. THIS WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY LAST YEAR. NOW YESTERDAY THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR SENSOR. THIS WAS QUOTED TO ME AT $700. THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A BAD DOOR SENSOR THAT FORD HAS PUT BAD AND FAULTY SENSORS ON. I FEEL THAT I SHOULD NOT BE LIABLE FOR .THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN TOWN SAID, "THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH FORD FLEX". THIS DOOR AJAR SENSOR KEEPS LIGHTS ILLUMINATED DRAINING THE BATTERY, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS KEEPS THE LIGHTS ON WHEN DRIVING, AND AT NIGHT MAKES IT VERY VERY HARD TO SEE AND DRIVE. THIS WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO FAULTY DOOR SENSORS.

2013 FORD FLEX MODEL POS, REAR PASSENGER DOOR AJAR SENSOR WAS REPAIRED DUE TO BEING DEFECTIVE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AROUND 32000 MILES I BELIEVE, AT ROUGHLY 45000 MILES THE DRIVERS DOOR SENSOR WAS STARTING TO FAIL, IT WOULD REQUIRE 2 SHUTS TO SHUT OFF. BATTERY KEPT DYING, GOT IT TESTED SAID GOOD BUT KEPT DYING, DID NOT THINK IT WAS A ISSUE WITH THE DOOR, BUT ONE NIGHT I WENT OUT TO GET SOMETHING FROM MY TRUCK AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW EVERY LIGHT IN THE THING IS ON. WHY? YOU ASK BECAUSE THE DRIVERS DOOR IS APPARENTLY AJAR, BUT ITS NOT. I REPLACED THE BATTERY THE MORNING BEFORE I SEEN THE LIGHTS ISSUE $200 GONE. CONTACTED FORD BY EMAIL RECIEVED NO RESPONSE, CONTACTED VIA FACEBOOK AND THEY RESPONDED THAT THEY WILL TRY TO HELP, RECIEVED A CALL THE NEXT DAY NOPE WE WONT HELP YOU. FOR A $45000 TRUCK IT SURE IS MADE OF LOW QUALITY MATERIAL. I WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING FORD TO ANYONE. WORRIED THE AIRBAGS WONT DEPLOY PROPERLY IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT, IF THE TRUCK THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT MY BATTERY WILL DIE ANYWHERE I STOP FOR A FEW HOURS.

I TRIED OPENING AND SHUTTING THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES AND WHEN THIS PROBLEM BEGAN AND FOR ABOUT THE FIRST MONTH THE WARNING WOULD RESET. SINCE THEN THE WARNING IS PRESENT APPROXIMATELY 70% OF THE TIME. WHEN THE DOOR AJAR MORNING IS ACTIVE THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AT LOW SPEED AND REGARDLESS OF SPEED YOU'RE UNABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS. THESE ISSUES ARE WHEN THE DOOR AJAR MORNING IS ACTIVE THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AT LOW SPEED AND REGARDLESS OF SPEED YOU'RE UNABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS WHICH CAUSE OBVIOUS SAFETY AND SECURITY ISSUES AS WELL AS THE ADDED DANGER OF NOT BEING AWARE OF AN ACTUAL DOOR AJAR. I TOOK MY FLEX TO SUMMERVILLE FORD AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGE BEING AWARE OF MULTIPLE FORD MODELS WITH THE SAME ISSUE, APOLOGIZED FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE WITHOUT MY PAYING FOR IT.

PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE AND 7 MONTHS LATER THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON ALL THE TIME AND THE AUTO DOOR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE WHEN DRIVING. I TALKED TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER WHO SAID IT JUST NEEDS OILED AND IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE OILED IT AND CLEANED IT WITH COMPRESSED AIR AND IT HAS DONE NOTHING. IF FORD CAN'T STAND BEHIND THIS KIND OF THING, I'LL BE BUYING A HYUNDAI OR A HONDA NEXT FOR A BETTER WARRANTY AND FOR A HIGHER QUALITY VEHICLE. *TR
