THE FRONT DOOR HANDLES QUIT WORKING AND THERE'S NO WAY TO GET DOOR OPEN???? FRONT DOOR HANDLES QUIT WORKING. CANT GET IN MY CAR

THE WIRING BETWEEN THE HATCH DOOR AND THE BODY IS DETERIORATED WITH A BROKEN WIRE FOR THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT AND THE INSULATION CRACKED AND MISSING ON MANY OF THE OTHER WIRES. THIS IS A REAL HAZARD AS SHORTS COULD OCCUR AFFECTING ALL THE REAR LIGHTS THAT ARE CONTROLLED WITH THESE WIRES. LUCKILY I READ ON A YOUTUBE REPORT ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I DETECTED THE PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE PARKED IN MY GARAGE WHILE INVESTIGATING THE LIGHTING PROBLEM.
ON THE 27TH OF NOV. 2017 WHILE PUTTING MY CAR INTO THE GARAGE THERE WAS A SUDDEN ACCELERATION, CRASHING INTO THE WALL PUSHING THE SHELVING INTO THE SPARE BEDROOM. I PUT IT INTO REVERSE AND EXITED THE GARAGE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, STILL TRYING TO BRAKE. HIT A TREE AT THE CURB PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE INSTEAD OF NEUTRAL THEN HEADED BACK TOWARD THE HOUSE WHILE STILL TRYING TO BRAKE, WAS ABLE TO SWERVE MISSING THE HOUSE, TURNED OFF THE KEY AND WOUND UP IN MY NEIGHBORS BACKYARD.

2 DOOR HATCHBACK BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. THE HANDLE IS LOOSE LIKE IT ISN'T CATCHING ON ANYTHING. I HAVE TO LEAVE MY WINDOW ROLLED DOWN AND OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE INSIDE HANDLE. SOMETIMES THE INSIDE HANDLE HAS ISSUES. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE INSIDE HANDLE STOPS WORKING AND I NEED TO GET OUT IN AN EMERGENCY? I TOOK IT THE DEALER AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FRO REPAIR. DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR DOES NOT LATCH PROPERLY. I'VE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL PEOPLE AT FORD AND ALTHOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, THEY WILL NOT COVER THE EXPENSE OF A NEW DOOR LATCH FOR OLDER MODEL FOCUS. THE LATCH ON MY FOCUS HAS BEEN WORKING IMPROPERLY FOR THE PAST YEAR NOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
DOOR LOCK ON REAR, PASSENGER DOOR WON'T LOCK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE PULLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER DOORS FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO OPEN. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS SLIGHTLY DETACHED. THE ELECTRICAL WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. A CERTIFIED MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TIE RODS AND WHEEL WELL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE RACK AND PINION TIGHTENED. THE TIE ROD AND WHEEL WELL WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.

THE FORD ZXW WAGON'S LIFTGATE WIRING HARNESS HAD FRAYED INSIDE THE RUBBER HOUSING AT THE JUNCTION WHERE THE GATE PIVOTS BETWEEN THE CAR BODY AND LIFTGATE. THE WIRES SHORTED WHICH CAUSED THE ELECTRIC GATE RELEASE TO OPEN AT 70MPH, WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A FREEWAY. THE LIFTGATE ROSE UP, OPENING THE BACK OF THE CARGO AREA TO TRAFFIC. LUCKILY FREEWAY SPEED WINDS KEPT IT FROM COMPLETELY OPENING, BUT WHEN SLOWED TO 30MPH IT WENT STRAIGHT UP. I'M LUCKY I HAD NO CHILDREN OR ANIMALS IN THE BACK CARGO AREA. AND THE FELLOW DRIVERS ON THE ROAD WERE LUCKY NOTHING SHIFTED AND FELL OUT. THE LIFTGATE REFUSED TO LATCH AFTER THIS POINT, MAKING DRIVING THE CAR SAFELY IMPOSSIBLE. IN RESEARCHING THE CAUSE AND REPAIR, I NOTICED SEVERAL FORUMS WHERE AN IDENTICAL PROBLEM WITH FORD'S DESIGN WAS POSTED. THE REPLACEMENT BILL AT A FORD DEALERSHIP WAS AROUND $1,200, NOT INCLUDING MY TIME LOST TO RESEARCH, REPAIR, OR FINDING ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION FOR MY BUSINESS PURPOSES. THIS IS DANGEROUS, POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING, AND UNFORTUNATELY, NOT FIXED. THE MECHANICS AT FORD SAID THE REPLACEMENT PART IS THE SAME AS WHAT WAS ORIGINAL. THIS WILL LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN.

THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IF SOMEONE (SMALL CHILD) PULLED THE HANDLE THEY COULD FALL OUT. I ALSO TRIED LOCKING THE CHILD LOCK BUT THEN THE DOOR WOULDN'T CLOSE. I HAD TO GET THIS FIXED AT A LOCAL AUTO SHOP AND IT COST $400. IT SEEMS LIKE FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FOCUS. *TR

BODY PAINT STARTED TO PEEL OFF OF MY FRONT DRIVERS DOOR, IT HAS CONTINUED TO PEEL ON ALL THE DOORS AND CURRENTLY IS NOW PEELING OFF OF THE TRUNK LID. I'M TOLD THAT THIS IS APPARENTLY A ROCK BLISTER EFFECT BUT I'VE OWNED MANY A VEHICLE AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN TO ANY VEHICLE OF MINE BEFORE. THIS IS A FORD PROBLEM NOT AN OWNER PROBLEM. MY FORD FOCUS HAD A PROBLEM ONE YEAR AGO WHERE A SMALL PLASTIC PIECE SNAPPED INSIDE THE DOOR WHICH MADE THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR INACCESSIBLE FROM THE OUTSIDE. A YEAR LATER, TODAY, THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. SINCE THIS IS A 2 DOOR HATCHBACK MODEL, AND THE BACK HATCH KEY LOCK IS NOT WORKING, THERE IS NO WAY TO ENTER MY VEHICLE. THE PIECE THAT HAS BROKEN IS A SMALL WEDGE SHAPED PLASTIC COMPONENT, WHICH SEEMS POORLY MADE, AND NOW REQUIRES ME TO SPEND OVER 300.00 DOLLARS, AND I MUST WAIT 3 DAYS BEFORE THE CAR CAN EVEN BE INSPECTED. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED ISSUE, BECAUSE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF A PERSON WERE TO HAVE THEIR CHILD IN A CAR SEAT IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY STEPPED OUT, AND REALIZED THEY COULD NOT ENTER. ALSO, WHAT IF SOMEONE WERE TO CONSIDER THEIR VEHICLE RELIABLE, RESPOND TO AN EMERGENCY, AND THEN REALIZE THAT THEY CANNOT ASSIST BECAUSE THEY NO LONGER HAVE ENTRY TO THEIR VEHICLE. BESIDES THE INCONVENIENCE THIS CAUSES, IT COULD INDIRECTLY OR DIRECTLY CAUSE HARM TO A PERSON. MANUFACTURERS NEED TO BE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD, ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS COULD BE AN OBVIOUS TACTIC TO PROMOTE EXTRA BUSINESS AND PROFIT OF FORD SPONSORED COMPANIES. *TR

I OWED A FORD FOCUS 2005. MY CAR WAS PARKED WHEN IT WAS HIT FROM BEHIND. I NOTICED WATER GOING IN MY TRUNK AFTER IT WAS WORKED ON. THE BODY SHOP THAT WORKED ON IT TOOK IT BACK IN TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THEY SAID THERE'S ALOT OF WATER COMING FROM AROUND THE RUBBER RING ON GAS TANK. THE AREA WHERE YOU OPEN THE GAS DOOR. I DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM UNTIL THE CAR WAS HIT. THE BODY SHOP TOLD ME IT WAS A WHOLE ANOTHER ISSUE IT WASN'T ON THEIR PART. WHEN IT RAINS THE TRUNK IS SOAKED ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE'S A HEAVY RAIN. ALSO MY CAR DOORS FREEZE AND I CAN'T GET IN THEM IN COLD WEATHER. THE DOOR LOCKS WERE REPLACED WHEN FORD HAD THE RECALLED. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT IN INDIANA. I LIVED IN WASHINGTON STATE AT THIS TIME. ALSO WATER WAS COMING IN AROUND THE LIGHT PANEL ON THE TRUNK. WHEN I OPEN IT WATER WOULD FALL INSIDE THE TRUNK.THAT WOULD THE PART THAT HAS A BLACK PANEL BELOW TRUNK KEY AREA. THE BODY SHOP WAS ABLE TO FIX IT WITH SILICON. AM WONDERING WHAT DAMAGE IS BEING DONE TO THE CAR. DAMAGES I CAN'T SEE. I CAN HEAR A POPPING SOUND FROM THE REAR END OF THE CAR. *TR
BOTH REAR DOORS ARE STUCK CLOSED AND CANNOT BE OPENED. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER TO SEE IF THIS REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY FOR DOOR LATCHES. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED. FORD QUOTED ME A PRICE OF OVER $700 TO REPLACE THE HARDWARE INSIDE OF THE DOOR THAT HAD "OXIDIZED". THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR STOPPED OPENING A FEW YEARS AGO BUT THIS WAS NOT A MAJOR CONCERN AS I RARELY HAVE PASSENGERS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. ABOUT A WEEK AGO THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR STOPPED FUNCTIONING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IT IS INTERESTING THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE IS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED FOR THE DOOR LATCHES, YET IT SEEMS THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER FORD FOCUSES THAT ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY BASED ON VIN#. THIS COULD BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE DOOR WERE TO OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR IF PASSENGERS WERE UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION (FOR EXAMPLE, AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH THE FRONT DOORS WERE DAMAGED, THERE WOULD BE NO EXIT FROM VEHICLE IF BOTH REAR DOORS ARE STUCK). THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT WAS WHEN ON 3/7/12 I HAD TO USE THE MANUAL KEY AND I WENT AROUND TO CHECK EACH DOOR. I THEN SAW THAT I COULDN'T LOCK IT MANUALLY. LATER OF COURSE I CHECKED IT WITH THE ELECTRICAL KEY AND FOUND OUT IT WASN'T LOCKING THOUGH IT WOULD BEEP TO TELL ME IT WAS. *TR
2005 FORD FOCUS ZX3, HATCHBACK. THE HATCH BACK BOUNCES OPEN ALL THE TIME WHEN I TRY TO CLOSE IT, AND THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE IS BROKEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I HAVE TO GET IN THE PASSENGER SIDE AND RELEASE THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. IF I FORGET TO USE THE UNLOCK WHEN I GET OUT OF THE CAR, I HAVE TO CLIMB IN THROUGH THE HATCHBACK AND OPEN THE BACK DOOR, THEN OPEN IT AND REACH UP AND UNLOCK THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, TO OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. THERE IS ONLY ONE UNLOCK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, WHICH OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT HELP AT ALL. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES PER HOUR, THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR OPENED ON IT'S OWN. HAD TO PULL OVER AND SECURE THE DOOR WITH TIES AS THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH. NOTICED LATER THE DOOR LATCH APPEARED TO BE RUSTED. SINCE THIS INCIDENT, BOTH REAR DOOR LATCHES AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH HAVE FAILED. RECENTLY, THE CAR WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO REMEDY THE ISSUE; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DESPITE HAVING THE SAME DEFECT AS THE VEHICLES COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES WHERE THE TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND SEVERAL ALIGNMENTS WERE PERFORMED BUT THE TIRES CONTINUED TO WEAR PREMATURELY. THE DEALER INSPECTED, ALIGNED AND CHANGED ALL FOUR TIRES AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS WERE CORRECT AND ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS POSSIBLY CAUSED BY THE CONTACT'S TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THERE IS WATER LEAKING FROM MY CAR INTO THE ENGINE. IT IS SEEPING UNDER THE COWL. THIS IS CAUSING WATER TO GET INTO MY AIR FILTER AND CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH MY MAF SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN IT RAINS OR WHEN I WASH MY VEHICLE. I JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON NOV. 9 2009. I WAS NOT DISCLOSED OF THIS ISSUE. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT FOR REPAIR AS REPAIR COSTS ARE ASTRONOMICAL. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE (FORD FOCUS) WITH WATER LEAK PROBLEMS. I OWN A 2005 FORD FOCUS. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY CAR IN THE RAN BECAUSE IT HESITATES AND CAUSES THE ENGINE TO MISFIRE. I AM SCARED THAT IT WILL HAPPEN ON THE ROAD AND I WILL GET KILLED AND RAN OVER MY TRUCK OR SOMETHING. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FOCUS. AFTER RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT NOTICED EXCESSIVE WATER LEAKING ONTO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE TRUNK WAS ALSO LEAKING WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE SEAMS WERE SPLIT IN THE CHASSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE EXCESSIVELY WET CARPET PADDING AND CARPET WERE NOT REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO MOLD DUE TO THE WET CARPET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,500.

THE REAR DOORS OF MY FORD FOCUS HAVE TWICE OPENED WHILE DRIVING DUE TO A RUSTED OUT LATCH MECHANISM. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS 9/30/07 AND THE SECOND WAS 11/5/07. THE SECOND TIME THERE WAS A CHILD IN THE BACKSEAT. THE CAR IS A 2005 MODEL AND ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. THE LATCHES WERE RECALLED ON 2000-2005 MODELS BUT APPARENTLY NOT MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE. AFTER HAVING TO PAY 2 TIMES IN A LITTLE OVER A MONTH TO REPAIR THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE DOOR LATCHES IN MY VEHICLE. DT: 2005 FORD FOCUS. THE CONSUMER STATED THE GRILL AND HEADLIGHTS WERE OUT OF PLACE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY WERE NOT SURE IF THEY WERE GOING TO ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP MADE ADJUSTMENTS, BUT THE CONSUMER DIDN'T FEEL IT WAS PROPERLY CORRECTED. THE CONSUMER STATED ONLY ONE HALF OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS ABLE TO BE PUT IN COMPLIANCE. HE HAS BEEN TOLD THE RADIATOR SUPPORT PANEL WAS BUILT IN AN IMPROPER POSITION. FORD STATED THE VEHICLE WAS BUILT WITHIN TOLERANCE. IT SHOULD NOT AFFECT ANY SAFETY COMPONENTS. WHEN THE CONSUMER ASKED FOR THAT IN WRITING THEY WERE UNSURE OF THEMSELVES. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THE HOOD SITS TOO LOW AT THE FENDER NEAR THE RIGHT A- PILLAR, THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED. *JB
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2005 FORD FOCUS ZX4 IN DECEMBER OF 2005. UPON DELIVERY I NOTICED MY CAR HAD A HARD TIME STARTING AND THE WHOLE ENGINE WOULD SHAKE AND KNOCK. AFTER A MONTH I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM. THE CONDITION CONTINUED AND I TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM BUT ASKED TO KEEP IT FOR AN OVERNIGHT START. I BROUGHT IT IN A FEW DAYS LATER SO THEY COULD KEEP IT OVER NIGHT AND THEY FOUND A BULLETIN BY FORD SAYING THEY KNOW THERE IS A HARD START PROBLEM BUT THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. I THEN HAD TO HAVE THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT REPLACED BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T UNLATCH OCCASIONALLY. I THEN HAD TO HAVE THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR CASING REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS DISCOLORED. THEN ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AGO I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 62 MILES AN HOUR AND MY CLUTCH WENT OUT AND MY CAR DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY ANOTHER CAR AND HAD TO WEIGHT IN 90 DEGREE WEATHER FOR 2 HOURS FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO FORD AND THEY SAID MY FLY WHEEL HAD CRUMBLED AND MY CLUTCH WAS BAD. IT TOOK THEM 9 DAYS TO REPLACE MY CLUTCH. A DAY LATER MY CAR WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT WITHOUT GRINDING AND I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID THAT THIS TIME THEY HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT WAS RUINED AS WELL. TO THIS DAY MY CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP AND HAS BEEN THERE FOR 32 DAYS JUST FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION. MY CAR IS ONLY 8 MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIR OR DIAGNOSIS FOR A TOTAL OF 45 DAYS SO FAR. NEITHER WENDLE MOTORS OR FORD WILL REPLACE THE CAR SO I AM PERUSING A LEMON LAW CASE. *JB
