The contact owns a 2010 Ford Focus. The contact stated that intermittently, after starting the vehicle and while driving at various speeds, the clutch pedal was depressed to the floorboard and the vehicle was unable to shift gear as needed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was made aware that the clutch assembly had previously been replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 179,000.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Focus. The contact stated that after he shifted the gear shifter to Park(P), the vehicle lunged and rolled backward as he was exiting the vehicle. The contact's right leg was stuck inside of the vehicle, causing him to fall to the ground while the driver's side front tire ran over his right arm. A bystander jumped into the vehicle and was able to park vehicle. The contact later received medical attention for injuries to his legs, right arm, and back, and was diagnosed with a blood infection. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred while the contact was parking the vehicle and he applied the parking brake to stop the vehicle from rolling. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

Feb 15, 2022 Crash

The contacts mother owns a 2010 Ford Focus. The contact stated while her mother attempted to park, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle violently accelerated on its own without warning. As a result, the contact crashed into a satellite pole. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries reported. A police report was not filed. The driver was able to reverse the vehicle and park into the parking spot, however the contact stated the failure reoccurred sporadically several times after the crash. The driver took the vehicle to a local dealer to have the vehicle inspected, however the dealer was not able to duplicate the failure. A few months later and the failure reoccurred again and the driver took the vehicle back to the dealer where the dealer repaired and replaced the throttle body control module on the vehicle, but the failure persisted after the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

MY YELLOW WENCH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON,I WAS STOPPED AT A 4 WAY CITY INTERSECTION AND WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR WOULD NOT PICK UP ANY SPEED. I WAS STUCK WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. I HAD TO GO THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AT IDLE SPEED PULL OFF THE ROAD, TURN THE CAR OFF AND WAIT A FEW SECONDS THEN RESTART IT. I WAS THEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT AND THE YELLOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ON.THE YELLOW LIGHT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON BEFORE AND I HAD GOODYEAR AND AUTO ZONE CHECK IT ON THEIR COMPUTER AND IT CAME UP WITH CODE P2135 THROTTLE SENSOR. THE GUY AT AUTO ZONE TOLD ME TO ENTER THAT CODE ON UTUBE AND SEE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DID TO FIX THE ISSUE. THERE ARE MANY STORIES ON YOUTUBE ETC REGARDING THIS ISSUE. IT SEEMS TO BE A WIDELY KNOW ISSUE AND ON ANOTHER FORD CAR THEY HAD A RECALL FOR IT. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY KEPT IT FOR A FEW DAYS,THEY TOLD ME SINCE THEY COULD NOT GET THE YELLOW LIGHT TO COME ON THEY CAN NOT TELL WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND THEREFORE NOT FIX IT? IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IT IN THIS CONDITION.

MIL COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY WITH A P0451 (3-4 DRIVING CYCLES AFTER A COLD START ) DTC, NO OBVIOUS REPAIR CONDITIONS PRESENT. ROUGH IDLE, POWER LOSS, HESITATION, DECREASE IN MILEAGE. ISSUES GO AWAY ON THEIR OWN AFTER PCM RESET, COME BACK SHORTLY AFTER MIL SETS AGAIN. MIL GOES OFF RANDOMLY, AND PROBLEMS GO AWAY SHORTLY AFTER. HAVE RUN MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTICS AND NO REPAIR ISSUES FOUND. WAS TOLD THE PCM ITSELF MIGHT NEED TO BE REPLACED OR REPROGRAMMED.

SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHILE IN MOTION, WRENCH LIGHT COMING ON. MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER HAS ALMOST BEEN INVOLVED IN A COUPLE OF SERIOUS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS. I UNDERSTAND IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY, BUT WHILE FORD HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON EXPLORERS AND A FEW OTHER MODELS SO OWNERS CAN HAVE NEW PARTS INSTALLED, IT HAS NOT EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO THE FOCUS ' THIS DESPITE THOUSANDS OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS FROM FOCUS OWNERS. THIS REPAIR WILL COST ME ABOUT $700, AND I CANNOT AFFORD IT. I WILL NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE A FORD.

ENGINE SURGED/FADED A FEW TIMES LATELY AND TWICE THE WRENCH SYMBOL CAME ON, BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID NO CODES WERE REPORTED AND THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS. TODAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE SPEED SUDDENLY DECELERATED TO 0 SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO AVOID BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. THE WRENCH SYMBOL DISPLAYED AGAIN. AFTER TURNING THE KEY OFF/ON THE WRENCH WAS GONE AND THE CAR STARTED MOVING NORMALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEED. A FEW MINUTES LATER THE SAME ACTION REPEATED BIT WHILE SLEEPING ON THE SHOULDER I HIT A METAL OBSTRUCTION ON THE ROAD WHICH A CAUSED A FLAT TIRE. AFTER CHANGING TO THE SPARE THE ENGINE SYMBOL DISPLAYED, BUT THE CAR OPERATED AT HIGHWAY SPEED NORMALLY. I STOPPED AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE WHERE THE READ THE STORED CODES, P2111 AND P2135. IT IS NOW BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE.

IT IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN IT HAPPENS ON A FOUR LANE ROAD WHEN THERE IS NO CHANCE TO COAST OVER TO THE SIDE AND YOU HAVE TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF FAST MOVING TRAFFIC, TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTART IT. IT ALSO HAPPENED WHEN TURNING ONTO A BUSY FOUR LANE ROAD FROM A SHOPPING CENTER. WE WERE TURNING LEFT ACROSS TRAFFIC WITH PLENTY OF ROOM AND TIME TO MAKE THE TURN UNTIL WE LOST ACCELERATION, PUTTING US IN HARMS WAY WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY THE ONCOMING DRIVERS WERE PAYING ATTENTION AND STOPPED WHILE WE WERE STOPPED, TURNING OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTING TO REGAIN ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. IN RESEARCHING ONLINE AND TALKING TO THE LOCAL FORD MECHANIC, IT LOOKS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FORD FOCUS. THE PROBLEM CENTERS AROUND THE THROTTLE BODY AND SENSORS, CAUSING A DISENGAGEMENT WITH THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR STARTED JERKING FORWARD AT A STOP LIGHT - TURNED THE HEAT OFF AND IT STOPPED JERKING. PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK IT STARTED REVVING ITSELF AND JERKING FORWARD (MADE IT UP TO 2000RMP BEFORE I COULD TURN IT OFF). WAS AT A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR STARTED JERKING FORWARD - BEFORE I COULD TURN THE HEAT OFF THE CAR STALLED OUT COMPLETELY. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CAR JERKED FORWARD: IDLE, PARK AND OCCASIONALLY IN DRIVE. I KNOW THAT OTHER FORD MODELS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE THROTTLE BODY AND I BELIEVE THAT FORD RECALLED AND FIXED THE OTHER MODELS. I DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR EACH WAY TO WORK AND BACK. DURING THIS TRIP I AM SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON TWO LANE MAJOR ACCESS ROADWAYS WITH SPEEDS OF 55 MPH. DRIVING AT A STEADY 60 MPH THROUGHOUT MOST OF MY TRIP, I HAD A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND THE ORANGE WRENCH THAT SIGNIFIES "LIMP HOME MODE" CAME ON. SINCE HALF OF MY TRIP IS ON ROADS THAT ARE RURAL IN AMENITIES, I WAS UNABLE TO LIMP TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP OR AUTO PARTS PLACE THE OFFER TESTING SERVICES. I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD BE DONE UNDER A ROLL AS IT IS A 5SPD. THE CAR RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY AND RAN PERFECT THE REST OF THE WAY HOME (ABOUT 25 MILES). THIS VEHICLE RAN FINE FOR THREE MORE WEEKS AND THEN BEGAN DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. ONE OF THE THINGS I NOTICED THE MOST IS THAT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO DO THIS OVER 60 MPH AS ONE DAY A WEEK I AM TRAVELING AT MORE HIGHWAY SPEEDS (70 ISH) AND IT HAS NEVER DONE THIS UNDER THAT TYPE OF LOAD. THIS HAD BEEN AN OFF AND ON OCCURRENCE SINCE APRIL, YET HAS BECOME MORE COMMON. I BORROWED A SCAN TOOL FROM MY NEIGHBOR, DROVE THE CAR WITH IT PLUGGED IN, AND TODAY CAME UP WITH TWO CODES IN LESS THAN 11 MILES OF DRIVING. P2135 AND P2111 WHICH WHEN I CONTACTED MY FORD SERVICE TECHNICIAN CAME OUT TO BE THROTTLE BODY CODES. TO DATE IT HAS HAPPENED 27 TIMES WHILE DRIVING, HAS NOT LEFT ME STRANDED, YET, BUT HAS CAUSED RAPID DECELERATION IN SOME HEAVY TRAFFIC. I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN THE TRANSMISSION/DRIVE TRAIN WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. IT STAYED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE TURNING OFF. I BEGAN TO LOOK FOR THE NEXT EXIT TO GET OFF AND TAKE A LOOK. AFTER ANOTHER MILE, THE SAME LIGHT CAME ON, ONLY THIS TIME, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH IT. THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUT OFF AND MY CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AND WOULD BARELY ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED. THE ENGINE ALSO STARTED TO RUN VERY ROUGHLY. I STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST FACILITY, THINKING THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AT THE SHOP, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON AND I COULDN'T MOVE MY CAR. WHILE DRIVING AT AROUND 15 MPH, MY CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WASN'T ON THE GAS. I LOOKED AT MY DASH TO CONFIRM CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON (IT WASN'T) AND NOTICED THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. IF I DIDN'T TOUCH THE GAS OR BRAKE THE CAR WOULD ACCELERATE UP TO 30 MPH AND STAY CONSTANT AT THAT SPEED. I RODE THE BRAKES TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY INSPECTED THE CAR AND DETERMINED THE ISSUE WAS THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR, AND SAID I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE THROTTLE BODY. COST WAS $400 FOR THE PART AND $230 FOR LABOR. THIS WAS NOT COVERED ON THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY I STILL HAVE. *TR

I WAS DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AT ABOUT 60 MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN TO LOSE SPEED AND A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR DID NOT RESPOND. I PUT ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND THE CARE "COASTED" AT 20 MPH FOR 2 TO 3 MILES UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF AT A CONVENIENCE STORE. ON MARCH 5TH, 2013 I WAS TRAVELING HOME AT 65 MPH AND THE CAR JERKED FOR A BRIEF MOMENT AND NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. TRAVELED ANOTHER 20 MILES AND AGAIN IT JERKED THIS TIME THE CONTROL MODULE/TRANSMISSION LIGHT (WRENCH ICON) CAME ON AND THE CAR BEGAN TO GO INTO LIMP MODE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. AFTER A FEW SECOND STARTED IT BACK UP AND RESET THE COMPUTER. WAS ABLE TO GET BACK ON THE FREEWAY AND MAKE IT THE NEXT 30 MILES HOME AND ANOTHER 10 MILES THE NEXT DAY TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO ISSUES. I WAS INFORMED ON MARCH 6TH THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS BAD AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE 2010 FORD FOCUS HER IN READING THE OTHER COMPLAINTS. BOUGHT FOCUS NEW WITH 49 MILES ON IT ON DEC 1, 2010. I HAVE HAD PREMATURE TIRE WEAR, AND ISSUES WITH STALLING/ JUMPING. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM AN EVENT THIS PAST WEEKEND AND HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD 45 MINUTES WHEN THE CAR STARTED ACTING LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL, THEN STARTED MAKING A HIGH PITCHED SQUEAL NOISE. I MANAGED TO MAKE IT HOME, AND AFTER ARRIVING HOME THE CAR KEPT WANTING TO JUMP WHILE PARKED. THE IDLE WOULD JUMP TO 3000RPM THEN BACK DOWN TO 1000RPM, THEN RISE SLOWLY HOLDING STEADY AT 2000RPM FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND THEN RELAX. AFTER ALL OF THIS THE CAR HAD A STRONG COOLANT SMELL, AS WELL AS HIGH CONDENSATION DRIPPING OUT OF THE TAILPIPE. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER, AND AFTER 3 DAYS THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE INSTALLATION, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WENT IN REVERSE. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AGAIN, THE CONSUMER HIT THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE SEAT BELT UNBUCKLED. THE COOLANT THAT CAME OUT OF THE AIRDUCTS ALSO REACHED THE INTERIOR FLOOR AND BEHIND THE CONSOLE. OTHER ISSUES WITH VEHICLE ARE THE TIRES THAT HAVE ALWAYS LOOKED WORN, WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE, RPMS WOULD INCREASE AND ENGINE REVS, TOXIC AND BURNING WIRE ODORS, EXCESSIVE HEAT FROM THE ENGINE, METAL GRINDING SOUNDS FROM UNDER THE HOOD, VIBRATING AND ROUGH RIDING, THE TRUNK OPENS ON ITS OWN, COMPRESSING SOUND WHILE AIR CONDITION IS RUNNING, WINDOWS WERE ICING ON THE EXTERIOR OF DRIVER AND PASSENGER WINDOWS, AND RUST ON THE IGNITION. ON JUNE 22, THE MECHANIC'S WRENCH APPEARED IN THE DASHBOARD WHILE SITTING IN IDLE WITH THE GEAR SHIFT IN PARK. THE FORD MANUAL STATES THAT THE WARNING SIGN IS RELATED TO THE THROTTLE/TRANSMISSION. I TURNED THE MOTOR OFF AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE MECHANIC'S WRENCH WENT AWAY. ON JUNE 25TH, THE MECHANIC'S WRENCH APPEARED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 30 MPH AND THE CAR STARTED TO JERK. IT WAS HARD TO KEEP IT IN THE ROAD. I DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY CODES REGISTERED IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND EVEN CHECKED ON THE FORD WEBSITE BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. I WAS TOLD TO BRING IT BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS DOES NOT HELP BECAUSE I KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG OR THE LIGHT WOULD NOT COME ON AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACT THE WAY IT HAD. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR IN FEAR OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT. BOUGHT USED 2010 FORD FOCUS IN FEBRUARY. HAD NO PROBLEM FOR THE FIRST 3 MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS HAVING ISSUES. THE CAR STARTED PULLING TO THE RIGHT TOO MUCH, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR, THEY SAID ITS NORMAL FOR THE "SLIGHT" PULLING TO THE RIGHT AS IT'S THE ROAD AND NOT THE CAR (TIRE PRESSURE WAS ALL IN RANGE), SO THEY SENT ME HOME. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH NO ANSWER. TWO WEEKS AFTER, I WAS HAVING STEERING WHEEL PROBLEMS. IT WOULD SHAKE("RATTLE") WHEN COMING TO A STOP(BREAKING) AND WHEN I WAS DRIVING OVER 45 MPH. SAME DEALERSHIP RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AS WELL AS TEST DRIVE,FOUND NOTHING WAS WRONG, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR 3 MONTHS WITH NO FIXES. I TOOK IT TO A FORD CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP, THEY FOUND NOTHING THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO HELP ME FURTHER. I AM ALSO HAVING AN A/C ISSUE, IT IS NOT COOLING AT MAX AND IS EMITTING A FOUL ODOR AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE ON. DEALERSHIP CHECKED THE CABIN FILTERS AND COOLING LIQUIDS, ALL WAS CLEAN AND FULL - OFFERED TO DO A "SPRAY" TO TRY AND ELIMINATE THE ODOR,BUT DID NOT WANT TO PROCEED WITH THAT OPTION.. MY BIGGEST ISSUE IS WITH THE CAR NOT ACCELERATING WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL AND ALSO KEEPS ROLLING FORWARD AFTER APPLYING BREAKS AND WHEN AT A STOP. THIS IS A RECENT ISSUE WITHIN THE PAST MONTH. I WILL PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN COMING TO A STOP, BUT HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL ALMOST DOWN TO THE FLOOR TO MAKE IT STOP COMPLETELY. I HAVE HAD CLOSE-CALLS WITH RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. ALSO WHEN I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL UNEXPECTEDLY "KICK" AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD, THUS CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO PUT EVEN MORE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES TO MAKE IT STOP. I BOUGHT A 2010 FORD FOCUS IN OCTOBER OF LAST YEAR. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTILL NOW. I WAS DRIVING UP THE ROAD AND MY VEHICLE LOST ITS POWER COMPLETLY AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. THE 3 THINGS I HAVE FOUND COMMON WHEN THIS HAPPENS IS THAT MY RPMS ARE AT 1.5 TRYING TO PUSH TO 2...THE MPH IS ABOUT 45 TO 50 AND I HAD JUST FILLED UP WITH GAS A FEW DAYS PRIOR AND WAS AT APPROXIMATELY 3/4 TANK FULL. I PULL IT OVER TO PARK AND IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY. I HAVE NO POWER IN THE GAS PEDAL. I TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A MINUTE THEN TRY TO START IT UP AGAIN AND IT TAKES A BIT FOR IT TO TURN OVER. THEN ITS RUNNING FINE..THAT IS UNTILL IT DOES IT AGAIN. THIS WEEK WILL BE THE 3RD TIME THE DEALER HAS MY CAR TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG. THEY CONTINUE TO TELL ME NOTHING.G IS WRONG AND THEY ARENT PICKING UP ANY CODES. I ASKED THEM IF THEY LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND THEY SD YES. IT STOPPED DOING THAT FOR A FEW DAYS THEN IT STARTED BACK AGAIN WITHIN A WEEK I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR A DAY AND A HALF AND WHEN THEY RETURNED IT THEY DIDN'T SAY WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT THEY JUST CLEANED OUT THE THROTTLE AS PER THE PAPERWORK THE GAVE ME. THEN ABOUT A WEEK LATER I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE GAS PEDAL (ACCELERATION) STOPPED WORKING AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON! IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY PEOPLE REALLY DON'T PAY ATTENTION ON THE FREEWAY I ALMOST GOT REARENDED. SO I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AT ALMOST 10PM SATURDAY NIGHT. COME MONDAY AFTERNOON THEY WANTED TO RELEASE THE CAR BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I TOLD THEM THERE IS NO WAY I AM TAKING THE CAR BACK. OUR 2010 AUTOMATIC FORD FOCUS DEMONSTRATED PROBLEMS WITH SHIFTING GEARS AT ABOUT 7,000 MILES. ONCE THE CAR IS WARMED UP IT WILL NOT SMOOTHLY SHIFT. THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 10-60 MPH, AND DEMONSTRATES MAJOR JERKING WHEN IT FINALLY DOES SHIFT, WITH REVVING/INCREASED RPMS. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS EVERYTIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WHEN ENTERING A HIGHWAY OR A MAJOR ROAD WITH TRAFFIC, SINCE THE CAR ACCELERATION DOES NOT RESPOND. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IF CAUGHT IN TIME THE COMPUTER IS REPROGRAMMED. AT A CERTAIN POINT THE REPROGRAMMING NOT LONGER WORKS AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS MAJOR REPAIR. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED WITH COMPUTER REPROGRAMMING, AND IS NOW IN FOR MAJOR TRANSMISSION REPAIRS WITH 13,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
