At 116,500 miles, the oil pump failed on my Ford Focus. This was verified by an auto repair shop. The car has the Ford ecoboost 1.0 engine. Ford has a recall on this engine with a build date of March 24, 2015 to May 4, 2018. My car was built on Aug 4, 2015 within the range of the recall. The recall states that cars with automatic transmission are included. My car has a manual 6 speed. I don't believe that the transmission has anything to do with the oil pump failure. The car "check engine" and "check oil" lights came on and there were multiple instances where the car stalled and I became stranded, often on busy roads. It has been well documented on the internet that Ford has had issues with this engine. I am not planning on repairing this car as the shop explained it probably will be in the range of $7000 which way more than the value of this car that is almost 10yrs old and 116500. The car is currently sitting in my garage non drivable with a scrap value of pennies compared what trade-in value or extend life of the car.
I was getting ready to leave the grocery store and I crank up my car and I had a light come on stating that my car was overheating transmission turn off the car and as I tried to pull out of the parking lot, the car would barely accelerate it would barely go to mountain and it was stuttering up the heels I had to turn off the vehicle. Let it sit for five minutes to let it cool off and then I had to crank the car back up and then it started to drive again, but I did get a indication on my front dash stating that it was transmission
The car would not shift into a gear, would not shift gear to propel itself in traffic causing a safety issue. A warning light would come on saying the transmission was getting overheated. Ford of Glenwood Springs Colorado refused to look at the car because of its age despite the recall on the clutch for the year, make and model of the car. A NAPA shop determined the clutches were out. NAPA quoted $4,253 to fix the problem. I called Ken Garff Ford in Fort Collins Colorado at 4809 S. College Avenue to get this fixed under the recall. They said my VIN number wasn't covered, and the cost would be $6,000. I called Ford 1-866-436-7332 spoke to Ron employee #2192738 and was told he would document the call but could not do anything. Ford is aware of the safety issue we simply want them to standby their product and fix the problem or reimbursing us for the repairs to avoid a further hardship to get to work. While sitting in my driveway my car just killed and wouldn't start again. Towed it to osseo ford and there is no compression in engine. They said the timing belt is in the oil and disintegrated and broke causing the engine to fail. I've got documentation from dealer. They have a recall on 2016.. why not 2015s? My car has 163,000 on it and its junk now because of the belt design and it being a common issue. Why does there have to be a law suit filled for ford to admit this and why only 2016 and newer.. why not all 1.0 ecoboosts with this issue. For this reason I will never buy ford again. Nor will my friends and family. Stand behind your issues ford!

My vehicle stop from running on a red light and it wouldn’t go forward or backwards
My oil pressure pump and tensioner are the issues . I need a new engine replacement. Everything that 23s64 ford describes on there engine replacement claims is what the issue im going through now with my 1.0 ford focus 2015 . I took it to ford to get it diagnosed already and they are the ones that told me and as well got a second opinion through repairpal and they said the same. I have everything documented. Due to this issue I almost lost my life and my child's while driving my ford focus. Lost all pressure while driving with her in the car. Now she's nervous and scared when we get in any car . Due to she saw the car coming rite into her side on passenger side. No warning lights came on till after the issue had already happened . My brake pedal won't go down . Please help me this is my only form of transportation to work and to pick up my daughter. I dont have money to buy a new engine. Thank you so much for any assistance with this issue. This car has been nothing but problems. When my car was first bought from carmax it started having issues 6 months down the line. Under warranty.at the time carmax didn't want to help me and ford dealership didn't assist me with any help. Under warranty keep in mind . Then it's been issue after issue . I have receipts for everything . Thank you
My transmission is always having problems with it. My check engine light will not turn after put over $5,000 into it.
My vehicle is having the same issues as the recall associated with the 2016 ford focus with the 1 liter 3-cylinder turbo engine with the oil pump tensioner. I am not sure why this recall is not associated with my vehicle.

Ford has been fully aware of its DPS6 transmission design flaws and failures for many years. A formal recall was appropriate and they have not done so all this time; therefore, a consumer is not warned of the problem through the tried and true channels of BMV lookups during new registrations, dealer records resulting in notices sent, or other lookup tools. This causes the problem to present itself unexpectedly and progressively, and it causes quite a bad hazard by affecting the ability of the vehicle to accelerate and decelerate as expected. These transmissions slip into neutral unexpectedly as well, and it shouldn't be accepted that that is considered not a hazardous situation. Especially on the interstate, it can cause a crash. Support and responsibility by Ford is very bad. An auto transmission that isn't a flawed design may cost $2,000 to fully replace. The dual-dry clutch in Ford's PowerShift design is prone to failure. Even despite that Ford says it extended coverage for PowerShift transmissions, this can result in a $3600 repair bill, promises to cover it defaulted on, and factory warranty dishonored. I've been told by Ford it will make the defect right, but the repair estimate was $6800, twice what the car is valued for and impossible to afford to fix.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the transmission was shuddering. The transmission fault and transmission overheating messages were displayed. The message to “Pull Over” was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle failed to start. Additionally, the vehicle failed to reverse. There was an abnormal burning odor detected. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Royal Oak Ford Service (27550 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48067); where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission jumped out of gear. There was an abnormal burning odor detected. The transmission overheating message was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that clutch A and B had failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. While driving, the vehicle failed to properly shift into gear with the engine revving abnormally. The transmission overheating and fault message was displayed, and the vehicle failed to shift into gear. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the clutch assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

What happened: My 2015 Ford Focus has significant safety defects Ford has refused to address, despite these issues being covered under their Customer Satisfaction Programs (CSPs). These defects include engine stalling, power loss, and transmission issues, which pose serious risks to my safety and that of others. Ford’s inaction has exacerbated these problems. Key Issues: Engine Stalling and Hesitation (CSP 24N07 - Canister Purge Valve): The car stalls unpredictably at low speeds, especially during turns or stops, with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp. This has led to dangerous situations, including near-accidents at intersections. Transmission Problems (CSP 14M02 - Transmission Control Module): The vehicle experiences intermittent power loss, failure to start without gas application, and a "Service Engine Soon" light. These issues have worsened over time. Clutch Defects (CSP 19N08 - PowerShift Dual-Clutch Transmission): The car exhibits jerking, shuddering, and slipping during normal operation, compromising control and safety. Timeline of Events: June 2020: I reported clutch issues under CSP 19N08, but Ford dismissed them as "not severe enough." January 2025: I returned to address worsening CSP issues, but Ford denied repairs, claiming the mileage cap had been exceeded. They demanded $4,000 for clutch replacement and $190 for diagnostics—fees I consider unjustified since these problems are related to acknowledged defects. Risks and Observations: The frequent stalling and transmission failures create significant safety hazards. As a veterinary technician who drives daily with my dog, these malfunctions put both our lives at risk. The stalling often leaves me stranded in traffic, endangering myself and other drivers. Warning lamps are consistently illuminated, and the issues have been confirmed by the dealership during prior visits. Despite these known defects, Ford refuses to perform repairs under their CSPs. This neglect of safety obligations necessitate
Car will start surging and then will stall out. First noticed when car was purchased, but was told it was normal for the car to do. I will start the car and it'll run for a few seconds then die. Sometimes for only a couple times and then the car will run okay. There are times it'll surge then die up to 7 times in a row. Only a couple times it has surged and died while out driving. The car would die in the middle of the road. Car started up with issues almost 3 weeks ago and is progressively getting worse. Sometimes the engine light comes on then it will turn off. 2 different dealerships, Jess Ford, in Pullman Washington and Joe Hall Ford in Lewiston Idaho, both have done inspections and claimed to have fixed the transmission, but the issue has continued to be an issue. It has happened over 15 plus times of stalling and surging in the last week. TCM replaced, clutch replaced, fuel purge valve has been replaced. We were told it was a one-time fix, but it has been a nonstop issue since. The technicians informed us that it would fail again, and it did. Car is a 2015 Ford Focus, under 94k miles.
Transmission control module, transmission clutch
While driving vehicle on highway the Ford Focus started down shifting while accelerating. This caused the car to not be able to reach sufficient speeds on the road and could have caused an accident. With my family in the car I exited the highway and drove the vehicle home, with the car continuously down shifting and not being able to accelerate as designed. The transmission has known problems and model recalls. I brought it to the dealer for repair but the dealer would not honor the recall. I also called Ford customer care and they were of no help in covering this known issue.

While sitting at an idle my car killed. Tried to restart and it sounded like the starter was spinning. Trailered it to a garage and was told the engine had no compression on any of the cylinders. Garage told me the wet belt most likely snapped and wrecked the engine! Car has approximately 170,000. Heard there was a ongoing law suit for these 1.0L ecoboost engines. Also have researched issues and saw there was a good will they are doing for this issue. 10 years or 150,000 miles and they would replace the engine. Don't understand the 150,000 cause most cars are not even broke in at that mileage. I think ford should have to repair or replace these engines, cause they have admitted the internal wet belt is the issue with so many failing engines at such low mileage!
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. The failure occurred on several occasions; the vehicle was allowed to cool down for approximately 15 minutes before returning to normal operation. The check engine warning light along with several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer twice where the vehicle was diagnosed and received several unknown repairs. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Bob Maxey Ford (1833 E Jefferson Ave, Detroit, MI 48207); twice, where it was diagnosed and received several unknown repairs; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 123,676.

While driving down the highway the vehicle all of a sudden made a long depleted noise and then the vehicle shifted into 1st gear and wouldn't come go faster then 5 or 10mph. Check engine light came on and had to immediately put hazard lights on and get onto feeder to then drive the vehicle home at a very slow pace. Vehicle no longer shifts into higher gears. Got home and had family member test drive vehicle and vehicle would only go into 1st but with issues. Then tried reverse and the vehicle wouldn't shift into reverse, sounded like it was in neutral, would rev but not shift into Reverse gear. Managed to turn around and parked it back in driveway. Found in glove compartment the last inspection performed on the vehicle on September 24, 2023 which was done by the dealership I bought the car from. On the back of the inspection report it lists 2 recalls for power train issues on clutch shudder and clutch control module. However, both say something about warranty, and when I took the paper to the ford dealership I was told that's not a recall it's an extended warranty and it expired in 2022 for the clutch shudder issue but the module one they would replace for free. I would like to understand about the first one regarding clutch shudder and the warranty part. The ford dealer service tech was very unconcerned about this and pretty much says it's only a 7 year warranty on that issue so it would have needed to happen or be brought in 2022. Basically saying I'm out of luck with my problem. This seems like a very dangerous problem with this car and I would think was an actual recall item not just an extended dealer warranty item. I also had a auto mechanic test drive and look at the vehicle and they also confirmed this was a clutch issue. Can someone explain and verify this information?
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the clutch assembly and flywheel had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

There was already a recall performed on the vehicle for the purge valve being stuck open and a gas tank deformation. fast forward a few years and now the same issue is happening to the "repaired" parts. What are my options to have this recall correctly repaired?
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that for approximately two years while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the vehicle jolted forward and lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure for five months. On another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the PCM needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch assembly, clutch lever, and cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

It was mainly the clutch, apparently, but the work order includes a lot more. Yes, it is available for inspection. The car was difficult to control. It was slipping and was having trouble getting into gear. I was driving on a winding mountainess road, parts of it are along a cliff with a reservoir/lake below. Just my usual drive to work here in the Sierras. It go's without saying that others were put at risk since the car was difficult to handle. Yes, the car needs a new clutch and other stuff to the tune of $5,000 up. The car has less than 80,000 miles on it and has had two transmission replacements and a prior clutch replaced a little over a year and a half ago. I was unaware of these prior problems as the car was purchased by me one year and a month ago. The Ford Corporation was part of a class action suit and it was settled a few years ago, unfortunately, I did not own this 2015 Ford Focus at the time. No, the car has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representative. But, yes, by a Ford Dealership mechanic here in Sonora, California. The extended warranty for the clutch has expired on this car not that long ago. The extended warranty for the transmission has not expired. I wonder if the problem is the transmission since the transmission light came on but then I would'nt have to pay them anything. The independant garages around here won't work on this car. The first time the car engine light came on the car died. I went to the nearest repair shop and they put in a new battery but that was not the problem. So, the next day I'm driving to work on the winding mountainous road and a light came on, it said transmission overheating.

Clutch issue. When the automatic transmission shifts between 1st and 2nd gear and then 3rd and 4th gear, the vehicle pauses and revs at very high rpm's. When placing the gear shifter into reverse gear the vehicle, at times, does not go into gear and stays still without reversing. After further research, I found documentation related to the Ford PowerShift Transmission Settlement which my 2015 Ford Focus is included in.
I recently took my car to the dealership for a recall or what they are calling an extended warranty (19N08 Transmission Clutch Shudder- Transmission Clutch Warranty Extension). Unfortunately, my car does have the recall/extended warranty issue. The issue is it is outside the 7 years of 100,000 miles warranty. I have called Ford and opened a case # with them. I am begging you guys to extend this warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles. I am a single parent and this is my [XXX] son's car. We bought it at 103,000 miles. The older gentleman we bought it from told us about the shuttering, but he did not realize that the shuttering was due to a recall. Please extend this warranty/recall parameters as from my research others are having the same issue still. Thank you for your time!! It’s a 2015 ford focus 1.0 eco boost 6 speed manual. It studders and shakes and stalls at random while driving. It only has 78000 miles on it and I just bought this car from some punk kid. Shakes the car violently as well.
Stopped to get gas. Turned off engine. After filling up gas tank, car would not start, or crank/turn over. No check engine light has been on, no warning lights. Disconnected battery for about fifteen min. Car started up. Took it to shop, they changed out the evap Purge system. It failed when they tested it so they changed that out. Car did not stall when they test drove it. Car stalled two more times. Once when accelerating from a red light, and second time when just sitting in idle. Car just shuts itself off but the radio stays on. This is such a safety hazard because of the fact that not only does it stall in the middle of me driving But I’m very lucky I didn’t get rear ended or T boned because of this. So I thought this issue was fixed but obviously not. After the last time it stalled after getting it fixed, I then had it towed to a Ford dealership. I know this has been a recall on other Ford focuses. For some reason not mine which is a 2015 Focus. Last year I had to have the TCM fixed which was a recall so that was free however then they tell me that my clutch went bad at 60k miles? I shelled out almost $3k for that nonsense. Now This stalling it constantly Day after day at 75k miles? Thanks a lot FORD. Take your piece of [XXX] back and issue this a recall. Either way it’s Ford’s fault and should pay for this safety issue for free. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Studdering, won’t shift, stalls out , recall repaired still does the same thing, transmission doesn’t shift right and stalls out in traffic.

The engine failed while driving on a state highway. No one was hurt and the driver was able to get the car off the road. The only indication was the check engine light came on and the car lost all power. My local mechanic confirmed the issue being the oil pump drive belt tensioner arm broke and as a result the engine would need replacing. The engine was replaced with with a Ford remanufactured engine and the faulty engine returned to Ford for the core fee. Ford Focus' built between March 24, 2015 - May 4, 2018 are covered under NHTSA Recall No. : 23V-905, Manufacturer Recall No. : 23S64. The bulletin states 1.0L engines paired with 6F15 automatic transmissions. My car was built on March 19, 2015 with a standard transmission. It has the same engine as in the NHTSA and had the same issue with the 1.0L engines had.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speed and attempting to accelerate, the RMP would rise, but the vehicle would not move. The check engine warning light illuminated with the following messages: Transmission friction element B performance/stuck in off position - control module of transmission (TCM); Apply time range/ performance of transmission friction element B- control module of transmission (TCM); and Control module communication Buss 'A' off instrument control panel module. The contact stated, when the engine failed there was a message that stated transmission fault, service now. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a diagnostic was performed. The dealer stated that the clutch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.

My 2015 Ford Focus was operating without issue until one day in December the engine power significantly decreased. At that time, the oil pressure light came on as well as the check engine light. I stopped driving the car immediately and had it towed to a local Ford Dealership for inspection. Upon inspection, they found metal debris in the oil suspecting internal pump belt fracture causing internal damage to the engine. They advised a new engine and turbocharger replacement of the EcoBoost engine at a cost of $7,800 +tax. After research, it appears a recall for this issue may be forthcoming and would like to report the 2015 model year as a candidate for the recall with cost of engine replacement to be covered. This car is in otherwise great shape with only 110k miles.
1. MY car shuts off while driving and I don't understand why because my battery is new and all other components don't seem to be the issue i.e.: battery, starter, alternator. 2. My safety and the safety of my passengers were at risk because the car shuts off with no warning while driving. 3 I currently have the vehicle being inspected by my local Ford dealership but the problem has happened several times before taking the car to the dealership. 4. The problem is currently being inspected by the Ford dealership. 5. There were no warning's before the car shut off.
2015 Ford Focus - Car has less than 50k miles has 3 transmission codes showing: P07A5, P090C, and P07A5pd. Car will not go into reverse. Car has not been looked at by a technician yet. However, with less than 50K miles the fact that I am having transmission issues is unacceptable. Ford really needs to recall for these issues. After researching these codes that are showing, seems like there are thousands of people complaining about the same thing on different sites.
Car shudders while driving and now will not go into reverse. I have under 50,000 miles on the car. I have not had this seen by a mechanic yet.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate immediately. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated intermittently. The contact also stated that the transmission failed to shift into reverse(R) several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact about an unknown warranty coverage on the PCM; however, the dealer informed the contact that while inspecting the vehicle, it became noticeable that the clutch was damaged due to the faulty PCM. The dealer stated that the contact had to pay for the clutch repair out of pocket. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin Number: 14N02 (Extended Warranty Coverage for PCM). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

We are experiencing the fuel tank evaporate issue where car shuts off while driving. We were not recalled specifically but now have car in shop waiting on the recall to be reopened as the conditions match the issue under the recall. We have had 3 incidents that could have ended up in a collision as car abruptly shuts down. This is related to the evap fuel tank and sensor issues reported in the original recall. Our vehicle apparently had the programming updated during a past service visit but obviously has not corrected this issue. This vehicle has also had the transmission recall done shortly after purchase and transmission still acts up on occasion. Not happy with the current issue as it is a potential death trap when car shuts off for no reason.
Transmission had randomly started to jerk and then stopped accelerating. Left me stranded on the side of the road on a 5 hour trip and when I turned it off and back on it would move very little and I could hear grinding noise from the gears. I had to get a tow truck which cost me 1.5 k to tow back to my house
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH on the highway, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with clutch failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle eventually resumed normal operation and was driven to the residence. The contact informed the dealer of the failure by phone and informed the dealer that NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) recall repair had not been performed. The dealer researched and confirmed that the recall repair was not completed. The dealer stated the vehicle was only inspected. The dealer advised the contact to contact the manufacturer for approval to reopen the recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to see if there could be an investigation. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.

Service engine soon light came on, repair shop said I needed a tune up and could still drive ok. Broke down. Got that done and still engine light on so transmission fluid changed too. Now repair shop says it’s the transmission and clutch assembly that the dealer recalled and fixed a few years ago. I’m stuck with payments still and no way to get the $5000 the dealer days it will cost to fix this. Car value is the same. Everyone I’ve talked to has said this is a bad year’s model and will continue to break down even after fixing. Can you offer any advice? Thank you!
The power train control module & transmission control module has failed since I bought the Focus 2016 at 660 m on it. I’ve had this serviced 8 times @ Ford. Check engine light is on. Code P060A Was shown @ Ford. Mileage now is 72000. TCM & PCM were recall several times. Ford is charging me to fix it. Please tell me how this is NOT covered 10 yr. 150 k mile warranty OR by the 8th time being “serviced” & UNRESOLVED?
Transmission control module causing jerking, vibrating, and stalling out.
2015 Ford Focus, 67,000 miles would jerk , shudder & shut off completely , it would not accelerate or reverse half of the time. Stops in the middle of no wear.. the engine light would come on for a few days then go off and come up again.. the music stopped working& the RPM’s would go pass the 6,7 or 8 at only 10-15 miles & jerk while goin forward .. a safety problem would pop up “ transmission overheating stop safety “ my air would blow hot some days and it would smell like something burning.. confirmed by dealership it’s the clutch .. no warnings for these problems besides jerking / not accelerating at a reasonable speed and safety problem stating to “ stop safely transmission overheating “ &a burning smell & 2 safety recalls for the clutch & TCM with extended warranty. Warranty would not cover for the clutch problem they stated.
While accelerating from a stop at a red light, engine shuddered and almost died out in the middle of the intersection. Check engine light came on. Drove carefully for a few more minutes to work. While trying to accelerate, RPMs go really high like it doesn’t want to shift gears. Got to work where I always back into my parking spot, vehicle would not go into reverse.

My car stopped working on the freeway due to a recall. Multiple Ford dealerships have refused to fix it.
When driving in stop and go traffic 0=5 mph for about 30 mins the car began to act as if was slipping and revenge up without moving and engine light came on and would sometimes slam into gear. I placed vehicle in sport mode and it idled irratically to the point I felt it was going to shut down. Upon arrival home I realized that now reverse had went out when attempting to put car in driveway. I will be taking it into Ford today for the 1 recall on the fuel canister software but I feel that it is not related and hope they will make some discovery and fix it accordingly.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH in traffic, the air condition vents started to blow hot air inside the vehicle. The contact stated that the engine overheated, and the “Pull Over Safely” message was displayed. The contact stated that the temperature gauge rose to the HOT level. The contact was able to park the vehicle safely and waited approximately 15 minutes before being able to drive to her destination. A dealer was not contacted. The contact stated on June 26, 2023, she became aware that the vents were not blowing any air when the vehicle was started. The contact stated that within 30 minutes the failure recurred. The contact had experienced the failure four times. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that the cooling fan was not functioning properly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with Manufacturer Recall Number: 21N01; however, the VIN nor the year, make, or model was included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

Radio and speakers have not worked for over a year- making loud popping and screeching sounds. Automotive center #1 stated it was a computer system fail and they could not fix it because they did not have the proper software. Then I went to get a new fuse for the cigarette lighter and was told something is leaking. Took it to Firestone automotive center to be told nothing is leaking and I should go to Ford because it is most likely a sensor issue. Car says it is overheating when it is in idle. And no one I go to seems to care to help me get things fix. Ford can't help for 2 weeks due to availability. This has been the worst experience with a car I have encountered with trying to figure out the problem.
Car began losing power particularly at low speeds. AAA inspected vehicle and determined that clutch and transmission would need to be replaced (~$10K repair). This is the second time the transmission and clutch have been replaced. The car has a total of 50,000 miles on it (ie, it is still, mechanically, very, very young ) Manufacturer seems to have known about the issue.

I found the ac compressor clutch hub plate in my driveway detached from my vehicle somehow...
I literally had this car for about a week heard a puppy sound on the left side now my rpm's rev up car seems to be running extremely rough it shakes and jerks sometimes. I know there are a lot of recalls on the 2015 for transmission power train/engine Just wondering why my car is not one of them
Was driving the vehicle and saw that the vehicle was losing coolant change the coolant reservoir and the replaced both of the heater hose, all of a sudden it was still losing coolant but I was always topping it out with coolant. Until the day that it gave out
Vehicle will loose power and ac as if the gears are slipping causing a sudden reduced speed. The transmission warnings will also light up stating transmission overheating.
Start the vehicle, put it in reverse, stop and change gears to drive and the vehicle will not move forward the steering wheel jerks. I have to put the car in park turn off the engine and then power back on and try again.
On August 14th at approximately 2 pm my Ford Focus came to a complete stall at the intersection of Seymour Hwy and Brookes Ave in Wichita Falls, Texas. After several failed attempts to restart the vehicle it was pushed into a saver location and towed by Mike's Towing in WF to Quality Lube on Pearlie Drive also in WF. Fuel gauge was sitting at a little over 1/4 tank and panel was reading 78 miles to empty. I ran the VIN and pulled up a recall from 10/22/2018 that Ford neglected to contact me the owner of. The mechanic at Quality Lube would not touch it because of the recall. On August 15th I put gas in and the vehicle started right up, I drove the vehicle from Quality Lube straight to Pruitt Ford (location of purchase) located in Burkburnett, Texas. Left the vehicle and my mother called the next day and explained the problem and dangers improper vacuum through the fuel tank could cause and recall was pulled up. Pruitt Ford failed to run diagnostic to insure their fix actually fixed the issues, stating that they performed the recall and the check engine light was no longer on so they were done on their end. Picked up the vehicle from Pruitt Ford midafternoon on August 18th. August 24th the Check Engine Light came back on, Pruitt Ford was called and stated I would be responsible for $135 to run a diagnostic. I had the code pulled up and it stated P1450 Unable to Bleed Up Fuel Tank Vacuum. Pruitt Ford failed to repair the vehicle to a safe condition. On the 25th the vehicle was taken back to them after being supplied a case number to get the vehicle properly repaired through Ford Motor. CAS-38298302-J2R8C6 This morning I get a call from Pruitt Ford stating that Ford Motor will not honor the recall due to the mileages on the vehicle. This is a 2015 with 65,844 miles on it, there is no mileage limit on a recall and recalls have no expiration date. Ford Motor states it is not a warranty problem therefore the dealership is responsible recall repairs.
The transmission has been repaired only to have worse problems surface. Overnight, I lost my Reverse and a week later the Drive function stopped working. It placed me in a dangerous situation. I was at a gas station, suddenly no Reverse. I was wedged between cars. I had to push it backwards to give room for the car in front. I took it to Ford and they wanted $3000 for a clutch, they made me pay $210 diagnosis fee at Gene Butman Ford. I was angry. I went to a part store, the part was $245!!! I told Ford this car has been in for recalls with transmission and evaporative system. This is at least the third time for the transmission. It's a 2015, only 115,000 miles on it and it already is a piece of junk. I'm never buying a Ford again. The dealership folk were rude and offered nothing even when I mentioned a recall on the transmission.
Car will not go in reverse and shakes vigorously when shifting gears. We think it is an issue with the transmission. I called multiple ford dealerships as focuses have known transmission issues with these exact symptoms, but they said they cannot take a look for weeks. They have a policy where they will give rental cars for these transmission issues, but they are pretending they are not sure what the issue is and will not take a look for weeks, leaving me without a car for weeks because ford sold me a defective car.

Vehicle stalls & shuts off during use with zero warning, both while in park and while car is running and stopped with foot on brake at a stoplight, and also seems sluggish and straining during active driving as if it wants to stall and shut down. When car stalls, a warning displays (System Start Fault) when attempt is made to restart vehicle and the vehicle WILL NOT restart for anywhere between 45 minutes to 4 hours (so far). The vehicle will then go through varied reactions to attempts to restart when ignition key is turned ... ranging from the dashboard warning of System Start Fault with no success at restart to absolutely NO response of dashboard or other lights/warnings/electrical (completely dead). When this stall/complete shut down occurs, it also becomes locked in whatever gear it was in (Park or Drive) when the stall & immediate shutdown occurs and the gearshift locks in place and you're unable to shift into park or neutral as needed for tow or to move the vehicle off the roadway without the tow driver or other person dismantling the area covering the gearshift to access the hidden pin to shift into neutral to move the vehicle from the roadway. After the first complete shutdown during use occurred, it was taken to a local Ford dealership who was "unable to find the cause" at that time. Since that time, this complete shutdown while in use has occurred another four times within the 3 months following, resulting in either towing the vehicle or waiting 1-4 hours where the vehicle stalls/dies (parking lot, stoplight, etc) until the vehicle decides to restart. I have become terrified of driving this only means of transportation as I don't know when or where this vehicle is going to shut down without warning and fear I will be struck and killed by another vehicle or someone else killed when it shuts down again on the active roadway.
after fueling the 2015 ford focus.Car is very hard to start and when it does start engine runs rough spits and sputters.Check engine light is on had diagnostic done, code was evap problem. was told problem was canister purge valve. no recall that i know of on this issue. this is very concerning because my wife drives this car hauls our grand kid and very elderly mother this should be a recall. Vehicle looses all power while driving on freeway. Gas guage inaccurate, after filling gas and driving 150 miles it is out of gas without warning and will loose power under any operating condition. This has happened numerous times.
My 2015 ford focus has continually stopped in traffic causing a safety risk to other drivers and myself. I've taken it in for recalls and repairs but the problem still exists. The front rail hp switch was replaced and the hp fuel pump was replaced too. I'm afraid for people and my life. I have googled the problem and I see thousands of people have the same problem and can't get it fixed without dumping thousands of dollars into it. This has gone too far. I need help. Please. I'm old and not rich.

MY CAR HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH CODE P1450. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED IN 2019 AND WAS ADDRESSED BY REPROGRAMMING THE PCM. IN 2021 I GOT THE SAME CODE AND NOW THE PURGE VALVE IS STUCK OPEN. I NOTICED THAT AFTER ADDING FUEL THE CAR HAD TROUBLE STARTING UP UNTIL I GAVE IT A LITTLE EXTRA GAS. I WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS IT MAY STALL, SUDDENLY GO INTO LIMP MODE, OR THE FUEL TANK MAY COLLAPSE. I WOULD LIKE TO NOTE THAT ALL OTHER FOCUSES OF THIS GENERATION HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE PURGE VALVE, BUT EXCLUDING MY ENGINE THE 1.0. A LOT OF DIGGING INTO FORUMS HAS SHOWN ME THAT MANY 1.0 OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR FOCUS. QUITE SHADY TO RECALL ONLY SOME OF THE FOCUSES WHEN IT SEEMS THAT IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL ENGINE VARIATIONS.
THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING GEARS PROPERLY. WE TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT IT IS A COMPUTER PROBLEM. THE ONLY THING THAT CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEM IS A MASTER RESET. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THAT IT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE FIXED AND THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED.

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR OR EVEN ALLOWING MY CAR TO IDLE IT STARTS SHAKING AND WILL SHUT OFF. ONCE IT IS OFF IT IS VERY HARD TO GET AND KEEP IT STARTED. ONCE I DO GET IT STARTED I HAVE TO REV THE ENGINE BETWEEN 3K AND 4K RPM JUST TO GET IT TO STOP DOING THIS. I FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY WHEN PUTTING FUEL IN OR IDLING BUT IT IS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME. I USED INJECTOR CLEANER AND OCTANE BOOSTER TO TRY TO HELP BUT IT IS NOT WORKING. IT IS THROWING A FUEL ISSUE WHEN PUT ON THE DIAGNOSTIC. IT HAPPENS TO THE POINT WHERE I CANNOT SAFELY DRIVE MY CAR. THE DEALERSHIP STATED IT IS PROBABLY THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE BUT MY VIN IS NOT LISTED ALTHOUGH IF FALLS WITHIN THE YEAR OF THE RECALL.

RIGHT BEFORE THE ENGINE SHUTOFF IT ACTED LIKE THE FUEL WAS VAPOR LOCKED AND THE ENGINE WAS NOT RECEIVING AN ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF FUEL. THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED 1/2 TANK OF GASOLINE. MY CAR WAS FIXED LAST FALL BECAUSE OF A FUEL TANK RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND FLASHED THE TCM. BEFORE THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND FLASHED THE TCM I EXPERIENCED THE SAME PRIOR TO THE DEALERSHIP FIXING THE DECAL. NOW WHENEVER MY VEHICLE GETS AT OR BELOW A HALF OF A TANK ON MY FUEL GAUGE IT ACTS LIKE IT'S STARVING FOR FUEL AND IS GOING TO DIE OUT.

THEN THE CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN FOR AWHILE, AT LEAST 20 MINUTES. THIS PROBLEM WOULD KEEP ON HAPPENING THE LONGER THE CAR HAD BEEN ON, FOR EXAMPLE, EVERY TIME WE HAD TO STOP, SUCH AS AT A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET, THE CAR WOULD SHUTTER THEN SHUT OFF. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE STALLED, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION, AND GRADUALLY SLOWED DOWN UNTIL IT WAS GUIDED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ALSO, AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED, IT WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HAASZ AUTOMALL OF RAVENNA (4886 OH-59, RAVENNA, OH 44266, 330-296-2866) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE O2 SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED FOR $500; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING AWAY. NICK MAYER FORD (6200 MAYFIELD RD, MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH 44124, (440) 449-1000( WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT PAID $200 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH EITHER ONE OF THE DEALERS OR THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE FROM THE HAASZ DEALER. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER UNKNOWN FORD DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT NICK MAYER FORD SHOULD NOT HAVE CLOSED THE RECALL FOR THE FUEL TANK BECAUSE THERE WAS STILL AN ISSUE. THE RECALL WOULD NEED TO BE RE-ISSUED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS CURRENTLY WAITING FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO APPLY THE RECALL BACK ON HER VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING IN MORNING RUSH-HOUR TRAFFIC, CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON. AFTER ABOUT 20-30 MIN, IT STARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO SAFE AREA BEFORE IT SHUT DOWN AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER.

WHEN I DRIVE FOR MORE THAT 20 MINUTES, MY CAR WILL START DYING WITHOUT WARNING. I CAN THEN PUT IT IN PARK AND START THE CAR, WHICH IT WILL THEN START UP AND I CAN DRIVE FOR ABOUT ANOTHER MINUTE AND IT WILL DIE AGAIN. IT WILL DO THIS OVER AND OVER UNLESS I STOP DRIVING AND LET THE CAR 'REST' FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES. THIS STARTED HAPPENING A WEEK AFTER I HAD SOME RECALL WORK DONE ON THE CSV.
Mileage: 79,000
MY CAN USED TO GET 400 PLUS MILES WHEN THE HAS TANK IS FULL. NOW IT GETS LESS AND STUDY GET LESS WHEN I FILL UP. WHEN I STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR SOUND LIKE AIR RUSHING IN AND THE RPM'S REV UP WAY TO HIGH. THIS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW WEEKS. THIS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING THE FREEWAY, HIGHWAY, AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS.
A BOUGHT A USED FORD CAR FROM TOYOTA, THE CAR UNKNOWINGLY HAD A RECALL ON IT. THE CAR HAS BEEN SEEN 10 TIMES, UNDER WARRANTY, THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH HAS GONE OUT, FORD AND TOYOTA HAVE REFUSED TO BY BACK THE CAR. CAR HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR 31 DAYS AS OF NOW. AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RENTAL, FORD WILL NOT OPEN THE RECALL BACK OPEN. HENDRICKS WON'T LOOK AT THE CAR THEY TELL ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO FORD. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE CAR WOULD NOT EXELORATE PASS 40-55 MILES PER HOUR. THE RADIO, BLUETOOTH PORTS STOPPED WORKING. THE AUTO START AND STOP STOPPED WORKING. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD COMPANY MORE THAN 10 TIMES WITH 6 CASE NUMBERS. THE LAST TIME I WAS DRIVING THE CAR I WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I COULD SMELL A BURNING ODER, THEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WENT OUT (STUCK IN THE FAR BACK POSITION) THEN THE CAR WHEN INTO LIMP MODE AND WOULD NOT EXCEL PAS 50 MILES PER HOUR AFTER PRESSING THE GAS THE GAS PETAL GOES OUT. THE STICK TO CHANGE GEARS WHEN OUT AND THE CAR WAS SMOKING. I THEN ROLLED OFF THE NEAREST EXIT RAMP WHERE THE CAR CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET
Mileage: 39,000
WHEN I PRESS ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT, (AFTER I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR A SMALL DISTANCE) THE CAR JERKS AND JUMPS AND DOES NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION OR NOT, BUT IT WORRIES ME BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT TO BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE MY CAR WILL NOT GO. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING A LOT, BUT I HAVE NOT HAD IT IN TO A REPAIR SHOP YET AND I AM WONDERING IF IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE BAD TRANSMISSIONS THAT WERE PUT INTO THE FORD FOCUSES. THIS HAPPENS WEATHER I AM DRIVING ON A CITY STREET OR ON A HIGHWAY AND IT IS VERY CONCERNING. I GOT A LETTER IN THE MAIL FROM FORD BACK IN DECEMBER 2018 THAT STATED MY CAR WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH CERTAIN THINGS AND THAT THEY WOULD BE SENDING OUT A RECALL IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2019, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED ANY CORRESPONDENCE FROM FORD AFTER THAT. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A LONG TIME.

THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR MY CAR AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT PROVIDED A REMEDY.
THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO THE FORD FOCUS/FIESTA DPS6 TRANSMISSION ISSUE. DUE TO THE DRY DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM ISSUE, THE VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD SHAKE AND RUMBLE VIOLENTLY WHILE MOVING. THIS MOSTLY OCCURS WHEN THE SUPPOSEDLY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTING FROM THE FIRST AND SECOND GEAR. THE FIRST TIME I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH WHICH STOPPED THE RUMBLE ISSUE UNTIL FEW MONTHS LATER, THE RUMBLE RETURNED. AGAIN I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP HOWEVER THIS TIME THEY BLAMED IT ON THE PURGE VALVE IN THE GAS TANK WHICH THEY REPLACED. THIS DID NOT FIX THE RUMBLE ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT TRY TO VERIFY THE RUMBLE. THEY SIMPLY DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT BY STATING THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. FEW MONTHS LATER WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY, THE RUMBLE OCCURRED AGAIN BUT WORSE THAN BEFORE. IMMEDIATELY MY VEHICLE LOST POWER AS IF IT'S STUCK AT FIRST GEAR. THE VEHICLE'S SPEED DROPPED TREMENDOUSLY WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SINCE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND EVERYONE WAS GOING 60+ MPH. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY WITHOUT GETTING HIT. I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT RAN CONTINUE TO RUMBLE BUT NOT AS VIOLENTLY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I QUICKLY BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, THE WARRANTY COMPANY REFUSE TO COVER THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR BECAUSE THE DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM IS TECHNICALLY A MANUAL CLUTCH. FOR THAT REASON THEY DO NOT COVER IT. AS A CONSUMER, WE HAVE NO IDEA EXACTLY WHAT TYPE OF PARTS THE VEHICLE CONTAINS. THE VEHICLE WAS ADVERTISED AS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHICH IN COMMON SENSE, IT DOES NOT CONTAIN A MANUAL CLUTCH. THE DEALERSHIP WAS REQUESTING $2000+ FEE TO REPLACE THIS CLUTCH. AT THE SAME TIME OF THIS INSPECTION, THE PURGE VALVE IN THE GAS TANK WAS ALSO DEFECTED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,300.

WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, IT SHUTTERS, AND SLIPS GEARS. I EXPERIENCE POWER LOSS WHILE DRIVING, AND HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED TROUBLE TRYING TO GET IT TO SWITCH GEARS PROPERLY WHEN ACCELERATING. WHEN I INITIALLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE (FIRST TIME CAR BUYER) AND TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE, I WAS TOLD THESE ARE NORMAL, AND WOULD NOT BE CAUSE FOR CONCERN, BUT HAVE SINCE BECOME A HUGE CONCERN.

CAR HESITATES AND DOES NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY. TAKE OFFS ARE DANGEROUS BECAUSE CAR SHIFTS RADICALLY.
THE CAR SHUDDERED AND JERKED WHEN STOPPED AND ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP. A METAL GRINDING CAN BE HEARD FROM THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING DURING THIS JERKING FROM ACCELERATION. THE CAR WOULD LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING. ONE TIME, THE CAR STALLED, RESULTING IN LOSE OF POWER, WHILE I WAS TURNING LEFT THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR MANY TIMES WITH NO RESOLUTION OF THESE SYMPTOMS.

CAR SPUTTERS, HESITATES, MAKES CLINKING NOISES WHEN ACCELERATING. ENTIRE FRONT END INCLUDING STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND VEHICLE HESTITATES WHEN GIVEN GAS. WHEN STOPPED CAR RANDOMLY IDLES WITHOUT USING GAS PEDAL, EVEN COMPLETELY LOSES POWER AS IF OUT OF GAS REQUIRING CAR TO BE RESTARTED. ENGINE ALSO SHIFTS GEARS LATE IN RPM SEQUENCE. I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET THE ISSUE RELATED TO THE GAS CYCLINDER WHICH IS THE OPEN RECALL AND THESE PROBLEMS CONTINUE TO PERSIST. PROBLEM HAS PERSISNTED EVERY DAY SINCE DATE SELECTED WHIHC IS WHEN I PURCHASED VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL MY CARS TRANSMISSION LIGHT IS ON AND A MESSAGE CAME UP SAYING TRANSMISSION AT FAULT. ALSO WHEN I WOULD STOP COMPLETELY AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT THE CAR WOULD SHUDDER AND MAKE A WEIRD NOISE. I'VE BEEN HAVE TROUBLE TURNING IT ON, I WOULD HAVE TO JUMP START IT EVERY NOW AND THEN.

TWICE PULLING ON TO A BUSY HWY MY CAR HAS STALLED/SHUDDERED, AND LOST POWER. BOTH TIMES HEAT GAUGE SKY ROCKETING. THE LAST TIME MY CAR TURNED OFF ENTIRELY, AND HAD OVER HEATED. HOWEVER IT HAD ONLY BEEN IN OPERATION FOR ABOUT 5 MIN. BOTH TIMES ON A BUSY HWY. FIRST TIME I TOOK IT IN, THEY SAID IT WAS A MODULE UPDATE. TWO WEEKS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND WORSE. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER LETTING IT SIT FOR 5 MINUTES. THEY REPLACED GASKETS, AND BLEW THEM ON THEIR TEST DRIVE. REPLACED A HOSE AND GASKETS AGAIN. MY CAR WAS RETURNED TO ME TWO DAYS AGO, AND LESS THAN 50 MILES LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE COOLANT WAS HALF FULL, AND IN THE COURSE OF ROUGHLY 30 MINUTES OF OPERATION IT HAD GONE THROUGH HALF OF THE COOLANT. YET THERE IS NO TRACE OF A LEAK ON THE GROUND. IN ADDITION TO ALL OF THAT, ON THE FIRST FIX THE AC HAD CUT OUT TWICE WHICH SINCE THEY HAVE CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED. WITH ALL OF THIS, IT HAD CREATED QUITE A FOWL SMELL IN MY CAR AS A RESULT. MY CAR AT THIS POINT, MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 21 BUSINESS DAYS (NOT INCLUDING SATURDAYS.. WHICH THEY WORK), THE ISSUES STARTED MID AUGUST AND IT IS NOW OCTOBER 7TH. THEY OFFERED TO GIVE US THE CAR BACK AND THAT IT WAS "JUST AN AIR BUBBLE". DESPITE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON AND EXCESSIVE LOSS OF COOLANT. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN MOTION EACH TIME IT HAS HAD AN ISSUE. THE FIRST ISSUE I WAS JUST PULLING ON TO THE HWY, SO WAS JUST ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THE SECOND TIME I HAD REACHED THE HWY SPEED OF 55 MPH. MY 2015 FORD FOCUS' TRANSMISSION STARTED TO "SHUDDER" WITH A JERKING MOTION WHEN ACCELERATING AT LOW RPM. ALSO I'VE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER/DELAYED ACCELERATION WHEN I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING UP A HILL, CAUSING THE CAR TO NOT ACCELERATE FOR ABOUT TWO SECONDS WHEN I NEED IT. THERE WAS A MESSAGE "TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING", THEN "PRESS BRAKE PEDAL" WHEN I WAS IDLING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO SERRAMONTE FORD WHERE I BOUGHT IT, AND BILL THE SERVICE PERSON TOLD ME THAT "FORD FOCUS' ARE SUPPOSED TO SHUDDER, BUT THAT IT PROBABLY HAD A BAD DOUBLE-CLUTCH THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THAT THERE WAS A 12-WEEK BACK ORDER FROM THE MANUFACTURER, AND THAT THEY WOULD REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER AND THAT SHOULD HELP THE SHUDDER PROBLEM AS A TEMPORARY FIX. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT THAT I WAITED FOUR DAYS FOR, THEN HE TOLD ME THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT THAT IT WOULD BE 3-7 DAYS BEFORE HE COULD LOOK AT IT. WHEN I CALLED BILL THREE TIMES 3DAYS IN A ROW TO SEE IF IT WAS FIXED AND HIM IGNORING THE MESSAGES, HE CALLED ON THE 5TH DAY SAYING MY CAR WAS READY. I WENT TO PICK IT UP AND HE SAID IT STILL MIGHT HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF A SHUDDER AND THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR. HE ONLY LISTED THAT I COMPLAINED OF A SHUDDER ON THE WORK ORDER, NEVER PUT DOWN THAT ANY REPAIR PARTS WERE ORDERED OR ON BACK ORDER, AND MADE IT LOOK LIKE THERE WAS ONLY AN INSPECTION ALONG WITH AN OIL CHANGE. I DROVE MY SHUDDERING CAR HOME, PERTURBED AT THEY'RE INADEQUACY. I RECEIVED AN E-SURVEY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND I GAVE THEM THE POOR GRADE THAT WAS WARRANTED. WITHIN 30 MINUTES, SERVICE DIRECTOR HENRY CALLED SAYING HE'D HAVE THE CLUTCH IN ONLY 8 WEEKS TO APPEASE ME, BUT THAT I'D HAVE TO KEEP CALLING FOR UPDATES. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT, FEARFUL OF IT STALLING WHEN I NEED POWER CRITICALLY. FAULTY CAR THAT NEEDS RECALL AMONG MANY FOCUSES.

THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD, EXPERIENCES DELAYED ACCELERATION ALL THE TIME, DELAYED DOWNSHIFTING AND VEHICLES THAT HAVE TROUBLE STOPPING. IT IS SCARY WHEN I GO TO PULL OUT AND THE CAR JUST REVS AND DOES NOT MOVE I STEP ON GAS IT WILL SLOWLY GO, THEN IT WILL JUST REV. SEVERAL TIMES I HAD TO PULL TO SIDE OF SHOULDER TO GET OUT OF THE WAY BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT ACCELERATING. SCARY WHEN MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR. IT DOES IT ON A WEEKLY BASES. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN SEVERAL TIME BUT THEY SAY SORRY IF THEY CANT SEE THE CAR DOING IT THEY CANT FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE TO MOVE.

AFTER STOPPING TO GET GAS ON I-80 AT A SERVICE AREA IN INDIANA WITH THE CAR IN PARK AND NOT RUNNING THE ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CAR IS A NEW VEHICLE, STILL UNDER WARRANTY WITH ABOUT 5,000 MILES ON IT. FORD DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. THEY OFFERED NO PROOF, AND STATED THAT WE COULD NOT APPEAL THE CASE.

THE FORD FOCUS STUTTERS AT STARTUP WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM THE CAR GETS WORSE. THE CAR WILL STALL AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. FORD HAS NO FIX THEY JUST TELL ME IT IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN AN AUTOMATIC CAR. I HAVE TRIED PREMIUM FUEL NOTHING HELPS. THIS IS MY DAUGHTERS FIRST CAR AND I AM AFRAID FOR HER LIFE

I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR ROAD AT SPEEDS OF 50MPH WHEN CAR LOST ALL POWER TO THE WHEELS AND TRANSMISSION SLIPPED. I WAS LEAVING A MALL PARKING LOT AND ACCELERATING WHEN THE CAR JERKED DANGEROUSLY AND STOPPED ACCELERATING CAUSING ME TO LOOSE SPEED AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. PROBABLE CAUSE: TRANSMISSION FAILURE OR DISCONNECT.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR LESS THAN 6 MOS. AGO. IT HAS HAD 2 RECALLS SO FAR. THE TRANSMISSION HAS A PROBLEM. IT JUMPS AND ACTS LIKE IT IS GOING TO DIE. TWICE WHEN I HAVE STARTED IT THERE WAS A KNOCKING LIKE THE ENGINE HAD SOMETHING WRONG. WHEN I CHANGED THE GEAR THE KNOCKING QUIT. WHEN I RUN THE HEATER THERE IS A BURNING SMELL. I TOOK IT IN AND TOLD THEM I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AND THEY DID THE RECALLS THEN TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T MAKE IT DO THE OTHER THINGS I HAD MENTIONED. I ASK THEM TO PUT ME IN SOMETHING ELSE AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $400.00-$500.00 A MONTH PAYMENT. I BELIEVE FORD KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM BUT CONTINUES TO SELL THEM SO WHEN PEOPLE COMPLAIN THEY CAN CHARGE THEM MORE MONEY. I AM A 55 YEAR OLD WOMAN THAT DRIVES 120 MILES A DAY BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. WHEN I GET OFF WORK I DRIVE HOME IN THE DARK. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR!!! FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED IN THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE HESITATION. I PICKED IT UP AND NOW IT IS WORSE! WHEN I TURN THE CORNER IT DOES THAT JERKING THING NOW LIKE IT IS GOING TO DIE. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP PROTECT CONSUMERS . THE JERKING HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING, TAKING OFF AND NOW EVEN WHEN YOU ARE TURNING. THE KNOCKING NOISE THE FIRST TIME WAS WHEN I WAS BACKING UP AND THE SECOND TIME WAS WHEN IT WAS IN PARK AND I HAD JUST STARTED IT.
