The rear view camera does not work most of the time. Hasn't for years. Seems Ford can't make a rear view camera that works, since I see Ford recalling all manner of other vehicles for their rear view camera. They need to do it for the Focus as well.

The car failed to start, it did not recognize it was in park. After trying to start my car with the keys it failed. My safety is put at risk, my car failing to recognize which gear shift it is in causes malfunctions while I am on the road, especially since I drive long distances at high speeds. I had a Master Technician review and preform a diagnostic on my vehicle and the codes formed for this test matched hand in hand with TCM issues under the TSB. After this, I went to the dealership to discuss this issue and the only thing that came of it was informing me that I was not eligible for a recall due to my VIN, even if I have all the symptoms under the TSB for my Ford Focus 2016. Since my car failed to start I was not able to bring it to Ford and have it tested, especially after asking if it is eligible and they insisted that it was not. No warning signs from the dashboard appeared on my vehicle to inform me of this issue. I travelled to meet with family and did not end up using my vehicle for a few days and when I tried to start my car, it would not engage. The only warning sounds I would consider a correlation before the problem would be a clicking from the starter pre-firing when I opened the door, and while the car was off.

Was at a red light and the clutch wouldn’t work. I had to pull the clutch up with my foot. I was so afraid someone was going to hit me. Then when you drive the car sometimes the clutch sticks and you can’t put into gear. I looked on the internet to see if other people were having the same problem. There were so many people who had the problem. I called Ford Dealer up to see if a recall . The mechanic said no they haven’t had the problem. I told him to look it up cause there was all kinds of people with the problem. I called Ford up to do a complaint. At that time was told no recalls to have anything fixed on the car. I took it to my mechanic and it was what the internet people had said the problem is. plastic actuator arm to the back of the pedal is made of PLASTIC and is breaking clean off!! My car is in the shop getting fixed. I can send the bill when I pick my vehicle up. Was told anywhere from 850 to 1000.

I’m having a very difficult time with ford dealership there is a lot of information about this 2016 ford focus automatic transmission that has problems with either its dry clutch or the tcm transmission control module. It is revving high when you stop it doesn’t shift gears properly it jerks hard it won’t go into higher gears it will start reversing out of no were that’s a very very terrifying situation especially that me and my fiancé have a little boy in this vehicle. We were so happy to buy this vehicle and ended up having huge problems for only having 100k miles on the odometer. This is are only vehicle spent are taxes on this vehicle to get us around for a few years go on vacations all that. To call ford and be told basically if this vehicle wasn’t involved in the lawsuit against ford about this certain situation then it wouldn’t be included in the recall. I think I should file a lawsuit against ford for this why would they have on the web that every 2016 ford focus has a recall for the tcm transmission control module one time free replacement until June 2025 it says. I want something done this is not right and illegal. Organization at its finest.

I am experiencing two significant issues with my 2016 Ford Focus, both of which closely match known recall problems documented for this model and year. However, my vehicle’s VIN does not currently show an active recall, and Ford has not covered the repairs. Canister Purge Valve (Error Code P1450): The canister purge valve in my vehicle is malfunctioning, leading to rough idling, poor fuel economy, and difficulties starting the engine. This issue also triggered the check engine light. My research shows that similar problems were included in a Ford recall for the 2016 Ford Focus, where a defective purge valve could cause stalling and inaccurate fuel readings. Despite these similarities, my VIN is not covered under this recall. Transmission Control Module (TCM) Issues: My vehicle also has transmission performance problems linked to the Transmission Control Module (TCM), causing hard shifting, irregular transmission behavior, and occasional failure to engage properly. The TCM issues are well-documented among 2016 Ford Focus vehicles, some of which were included in recalls and extended warranty programs, but my vehicle is excluded from this coverage. Electrical power steering goes in and out and the dash displays “steering assist fault” warning, and the power steering goes out entirely. You can still turn, but it takes a lot more physical effort to do so. Since it goes in and out, it can happen at any time and is very hard to get diagnosed through a diagnostic if the mechanic or dealer cannot replicate the issue.

(UNKNOWN) I am [XXX] and don't know much about cars but I will explain my issue as detailed as I've experienced it. The issue started on or about two days ago, on [XXX]. The car drives and as I'm driving it, it stalls and/or gets stuck momentarily and then begins to drive again as usual. I've been close to being hit from behind and causing an accident because the cars behind me don't expect to stop so suddenly. I've been lucky so far to have not been crashed into. It did the stalling without warning sensors alerting a problem for two days. The car now does show a yellow sensor on the right side of the dashboard which looks to me like a motor of some sort, I'm not sure. Additionally, during these two past days while the car has been having the stall/stop issue... the car does not start as it used to. I put the key in the ignition and turn the key to start the car but it won't start or make any sound as if it's gonna start. I have to turn the key two or three times for the car to start and then it finally does. Since the issue started, I've had the necessity to use the car and have used it about three times but I've not had it checked yet because the weather has been very bad in my area with on and off thunderstorms which makes it not possible for me to drive. I have very poor eyesight, I can barely see from my right eye due to the retina being detached and I don't feel safe driving under these circumstances. Additionally, the car started to make a noise; coming from under the hood the last time I started it which subsided once I drove it. Please advise me of what is best for me to do. Driver felt a "slipping" of gear while accelerating.The car then stalled at a stop light. Driver was able to get the car started again and drove it 1 mile up the road to Auto zone. Once the car got to Autozone and diagnostic test was ran, the car threw multiple codes for clutch system failure. The car was towed to ford for a through assessment. Once they got the vehicle started again the engine light came on. Upon being inspected Ford stated the Clutch System was stuck in place. The car was currently frozen in 2nd gear and was having a hard time starting. Ford was able to get the car started but the car would not move out of 2nd gear and was not able to be driven. Recommended service was a full clutch system replacement. Ford has had multiple cars recalled for the same issue but claimed the VIN was not included in the current recall.

I was told that the car I was buying had 83,000 miles on it. When I stepped into the car however, the odometer said that the car had 108,000 miles on it. When I asked for my money back, the used car dealership refused to refund me and told me that they don't do refunds. The name of the dealership that engaged in false advertising is Unlimited Auto Group in Marietta Georgia.

I was driving to work on a Monday and the transmission light came on. I took it to the dealership for a diagnostic and the service advisor said the vehicle needs a clutch replacement. The warranty 19N08 has expired since the warranty start date was back in 2015. The warranty was 7 years of warranty start date or 100,000 miles. The car is 76,000 miles and I’m stuck without a car to drive to work and no money to repair the car. Please help me and extend the warranty for this one time repair.

2016 Ford Focus Transmission Control Module Recall 14M02. I received a recall notice from Ford on my Transmission Control Module. I called Long-Lewis Ford in Muscle Shoals, Alabama in January 2024 and asked them when I could bring my car in for repair. I was told that I couldn't just bring it in, that I needed an appointment. Long-Lewis Ford called me on [XXX] and told me to bring my car in. I took it to Long-Lewis Ford on [XXX]. Long-Lewis Ford then parked my car outside in their parking lot for 54 days without doing anything to it. Long-Lewis Ford finally called me on [XXX] and told me to come and get my car. When I arrived at Long-Lewis Ford, the Long-Lewis Ford employee said "Here are your keys, but the car won't run. I tried to start my car, but the battery was dead from sitting in their parking lot for 54 days. I went to a parts store and bought a new battery. I installed the battery and my car started. On the way home I noticed that the transmission shift points were between 4,000 and 5,000 RPM's. The transmission would only go into Drive, Neutral and Park. It would not go into Reverse. It appears that Long-Lewis Ford did not follow the Recall Letter that requires the battery to be fully charged with a battery charger connected to the battery when programming the Transmission Control Module. Also, since Long-Lewis Ford stated the "car won't run" they never did a road test to see if my car was roadworthy. Long-Lewis Ford also told me that if I had transmission problems they would not fix it and I would have to pay for it, even though, Transmission Control Module failure can damage the Titanium disks in the transmission. ford has bought back or repaired thousands of these vehicles, but they have refused to repair mine. it is currently sitting in my yard and will not start. All of the lugs nut have swelled likely due to rust under the chrome caps and we can not get the lug wrench provided with the car onto any of the lugs nuts. A properly sized 19mm 4 way lug wrench would not fit either. This prevents us from being able to change a flat tire which could leave us stranded during my commute or on a vacation and left in an unsafe situation on the side.of the highway. This also prevents routine maintenance such as brake wear inspections and tire rotations from being completed. The car has not been taken to a dealer or service center since the issue was noticed but they would also have the same issue and would need to hammer a socket over the lug nut with excessive force. The car has a bad wheel bearing that needs to be replaced but can't since we can not remove the tire.

A week after purchasing a pre-owned 2016 Ford Focus SE Hatchback, the Malfunction Indicator Light came on with Primary Code P144A (EVAP Emission System Purge Vapor Line Restricted/Blocked). I paid $671.39 to have the canister purge valve replaced but subsequently learned that the part was part of NHTSA Recall 18V-735. However, because the prior owner had the recall repair completed on March 6, 2019, Ford Motor Company told me that I could not receive a refund. On September 15, 2023, NHTSA opened Investigation #RQ23006. The purpose of that investigation is to "assess the scope and remedy of Recall 18V-735." Since Ford Motor Company will not remedy the situation by refunding me, I am writing today to add myself to growing number of complaints that may have been received since the investigation was opened.

Bought brand new off stevens creek ford frontier, after just 45,000 miles it showed serious transmission issues. At first it would stall and pop up a transmission overheat warning and it would jolt when just trying to step on gas lightly. I brought it in to the dealer service and they said it needed a new clutch and once I got it back it doesn’t start unless I have it in neutral and doesn’t backup. The car is extremely unsafe and stalls on the freeway in front of other cars

2016 Ford Focus with 53,000 miles, driven less than 150 miles per week on average just getting back and forth to work and running errands. Check engine light came on on November 2, 2023. I got a P0344 code from my mechanic who is 5 minutes away from when the check engine light came on. He advised me not to drive the vehicle until he could get my car in on November 7. When I started the car to take it to the mechanic on the evening of November 6 for him to look at the next day, the oil light came on. It was a 5 minute drive from my home to the auto shop. He immediately said Oh, Oh, that's the bad oil light not the low oil light. I have routinely kept up with the recommended maintenance schedule and the car was last serviced on June 7, 2023 with no problems. I was told on the morning of November 7 after he had looked at the car that the engine was shot and the car would need a brand new engine. One of the employees at the shop is a former employee of a Ford dealership and was not at all surprised as he began running down a list of all the times that he had seen this problem. "It always happens right after the warranty expires' were his exact words. I now have to wait for a new engine, which is on back order for up to 2-3 months, which is an indication of how rampant this problem is with this Ford engine, and I will have to figure out how I'm going to get to work as we head into the winter months. One of the last things that the mechanic said to me before I signed the $5400 work order, was how lucky I was that the car didn't die on the road leaving me stranded. I can only attribute that to the short distances that I drive. Please do something for those of us that purchased this vehicle in good faith and are now being told that there is nothing that Ford can do for us because the warranty is expired.

I was driving from Roseburg, OR to Sacramento, CA and about 40 minutes prior to arriving in Sacramento, my sunroof exploded. It even sounded like an explosion. The glass appeared to bow upwards and out with a large hole before ng in the middle, and judging by the small amount of glass being held up by the lower part of the sunroof internal cover thingy, it blew outwards. I can only assume it was associated with an elevation change, but I open my windows for short bursts regularly to cycle in fresh air so I don't think that's it. Differential heating between the glass and the solid object holding it perhaps? If the internal glass holding component is being cooled by the AC and the external glass is being heated by the sun/ambient air - I assume it can cause a compression force on the glass. It was a hot day in SAC, but not over 100 degrees. Perhaps a defect in the glass? Either way, major safety concern. If glass had fallen in eyes or the boom occured in traffic I could easily see a crash happening so someone.

So ive bee battling the same tcm issues out of my 2016 ford focus. I have othing now. My car will no longer go into gear at all. So i have spent upwards of 8 to 9 grand over last two years trying tomfix this. This vehicle per customee satifaction progrm in the parameters of 2011 to 2017 ford Focus/Fiesta w/dps6 transmission having tcm issues. To my understsndig this should be replced and reprogrammed one time regardless of the milage. But my VIN doesnt register that my vehiicle is elegible for this recall or program. Please i need help. I am out of options. No vehicle, lost my job bedcause of this and my apartment.

Car turned off while driving three times. Once when put in park it locked on a busy road. Replaced fuse to battery, still turned off while driving. Lights stay on and its a pretty new battery so thats nit the issue, when turning the key there is no noise, no clicking or grinding. Main issue is the fact it turns off while driving and the fact it locks up when put in park. That's helpful to no one. Windows can't be rolled up either which meant being trapped guarding a vehicle in 92 degree weather. Anti theft is literally so dumb and in annoying. Great thought, terrible in practice. Am currently waiting on tow truck. Open invention on what caused this now.

My car has become hard to start after I fill up with gas. It also randomly loses all power. While driving everything in the car stops. It displays a message that says transmission is not in park, like I turned the key off but I did not. After this it won't start and displays a message on the dash that says "system start up fault". If I wait a few minutes it starts again . This has happened 3 times. I had a mechanic pull any codes. The only code is for a gasket in the evap system. The mechanic told me that Ford had a recall for this problem so I had the car towed to a Ford service center. The Ford dealer told me that my car is not included in the recall. I looked up Ford recalls and my car exhibits all of the problems described in the recall.

The car worked fine in the first couple months and slowly declined. The rpm will shoot up and down causing the car to jerk and not able to surpass certain speeds. It works sometimes, so when going to work in the freeway it was fine then it started acting up again, causing other cars to almost crash into me. I had to drive with hazards and luckily i was able to safely pull to the side. Instances like this occur a lot more now because the car doesn’t act normal anymore. I took it to a mechanic and it was a gear issue and a module error. I had asked how i was to fix it, and they said only main dealerships can fix a module board. It’s making my transmission overheat and now my steering wheel is stuck and won’t move.

The speakers are making a LOUD POPPING AND CRACKING. This is now happening with the radio turned off, and no Bluetooth connected to it. It even sometimes does it when the car is completely turned off. This sounds to me like an electrical issue for one. For two, this is an extreme safety issue, especially when I am driving. The last time it happened, it sounded like gunshots going off that that’s how loud it was, when my car was turned off completely, and now I am suffering from extreme tinnitus. Next time this could actually explode my eardrums. I have heard this to be an issue for multiple of these vehicles yet there has not been a recall on whatever may be causing this?! THIS IS AN EXTREME HEALTH/AUDITORY/NEUROLOGICAL SAFETY ISSUE.

I have been having problems with ford focus for a long time. I have been told that this is normal. Recently, I had my car fixed by ford. Soon after, I was having problems with car slow start, hesitation and studdering. This is the same problems I was having before. I was told by Ford dealership that it was not the transmission. They told me that it was a crack engine head and purge valve problem. I paid for the fix even though I felt like it should have been covered in a recall. The car is not fix. I have completed 2 surveys with Ford. The department of transportation should investigate ford for its ford focuses.

Shortly after fueling my car, it will start to act like it’s going to stall. Sometimes it stalls completely, other times I am able to accelerate the problem away. My car runs very loud, shaky, and rough. A few days ago, it stalled without any notice, and i wasn’t able to restart it. I had to have it towed to the mechanic. They are saying it could need a new fuel pump, but with the low mileage on my car no one can understand why that component of my car would be failing already.

My TCM stopped working and now my vehicle won't go into reverse 2nd 4th gear. My dad noticed it when he tried to back it into the garage to do some maintenance on it. I have been told it will be months to fix because of a backorder. I know this is a common issue for Focus but my vehicles Vin doesn't have a recall listed.

The vehicle was purchased used on June 4, 2022 from Next car imports (984) 989 5000. June 10th 2022 approximately 8 pm, while stopped at a light, the car shut off. I turned the key. The car crank back up. This occurred after putting gas into the car. Being the dealership added a warranty, I called the customer service and dealership. I called the dealership and spoke with [XXX] of (next car import, Clayton, nc) agreed to take the car and have their mechanic look at. Calling the dealership was the instruction from [XXX], of First Automotive (warranty) . Next Car Import kept the car from June 13th thru June 15th. Stated they drove the car tested the car and no issue. The evening of June 15th several hours after retrieving the car, I drove 1 mile from my home to get gas and the car stopped in the middle of the road, a very busy road. Someone push the car using another car the rest of the way to the gas station. I filled the car up and it still wouldn't start, it took at least 10 minutes before cranking up. The car has shut off several more times since then. Including the scariest of all being on a busy interstate June 19, 2022 while heading home from work. Barely 2 weeks owning this car, the dealership isn't willing to take it back. I'm experiencing anxiety every time I have to get in my car. Ever since I first purchased this car I have had issues with the automatic transmission. It feels like the gears are slipping whenever you speed up and the car also vibrates when speeding up and you can feel and hear the gears slipping. I took my car to Hagerstown Ford a little after I bought this car and told them about this and they just told me that they hooked it up to their "machine" and it told them that the transmission was fine but yet it still to this day, over 5 years later, is still doing the same thing but now it's also making a strange noise when going in faster speeds, anywhere from 50mph to 80mph, and really has me worried that the transmission is now failing. I have heard that many, many people have had issues with ford focus/fiesta's automatic transmissions around the same year as my car, a 2016.

The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutches needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed that the Transmission Control Module (TCM) needed to be replaced. The contact purchased a non-OEM TCM and the vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred and the contact purchased another non-OEM TCM which was re-installed. The failure reoccurred and the vehicle was returned to the same dealer and had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.

A code of P0086 Fuel Rails System Pressure too low appears when starting a warm engine and the car stalls while accelerating. The check engine light doesn’t come on until after multiple attempts of starting the engine. The rear passenger seatbelt starts to fray and the buckle cuts into it.

The car would shake and jump when starting from a stop or going up hills , also feels like it’s slipping when shifting gears will not shift when going up large hills or when on Highway and passing if it needed to change gears it would slip.I called Ford dealer told them same info they said my car is not under recall , well it needed to be , I took the car to trans shop he pulled a code of Transmission Friction element a stuck on. (Tans needs repair most likely clutches,He said take it to ford , I called ford they were backed up months in advance,and acted like they had never heard of this .I called Ford Motor company told them about issue , same response never heard of it and no recalls . Took the vehicle back to dealer I purchased it from and traded it for a different brand car , just wanted you to know Ford that’s wrong! I panicked and took the car to be traded in.I hope they don’t try to sell that car like that , I was not about to let my child drive that car one more day so I took it to the thieves that sold it to me and gifted it back to them.if you have a 2016 Ford Focus and it gets 80k miles like mine was your just screwed!Ford needs to fix these cars I’ll never trust Ford again.

I believe it was the fuel system that failed. The safety of myself, my child, and other drivers was at risk. The Ford dealer I spoke to said my vehichle is not affected by the recall that causes this issue (18S32). The auto center I took the car to could not reproduce the incident. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance. The check engine light was on at the time of the incident. I was at a stop at an intersection. When I was ready to proceed, I pressed the accelerator and the engine died. Pressing the gas did nothing. I was partially through the intersection where cross traffic does not stop when this happened. I turned the car off and back on and was able to get the car moving. This happened twice that night. The auto shop checked for error codes and found the following: P1450 No DTC definition found, P2195 O2 sensor signal biased, and P0507 Idle air control system revolutions per minute higher than expected. The auto center suggested I take the car back to the dealer for inspection as they can not diagnose. I fear for my family's safety while driving. I feel this problem is caused by the excessive vacuum in fuel vapor management system (Recall 18S32).

I started the ignition and the car started right back up. I took it to mechanic but could not find anything. It happened a again a few weeks later. The transmission slips and jerks at 4000 rpm's from acceleration and transmission does not go into reverse sometimes and over heats after 2 minutes of driving. It's available to be looked at. The car would not accelerate in the middle of driving on the highway. Just revs over 5000 rpm's. I took it to a transmission shop and they said it was the clutch which was going to be $3,000 to fix. My husband and my children have to experience the whiplash it gives you from the hard shifting. Also have to push it backward in neutral just to go anywhere because it has no reverse most of the time. There is a warning message on the dash that says transmission overheating wait 5 minutes and the check engine light is always on. They first appeared at 87,000 miles and it is horrible on gas I need to pay 20 dollars every 2 days just to go to work and back which I'm only work 15 minutes away. I have called my dealer no call back. I have called ford no call back. I even called the warranty place cause they sent me a notice and they said to call my dealer but they never called back

ON JULY 2, 2019, I WAS TOLD I NEEDED ANOTHER CLUTCH, WAITED ALL DAY FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND A PART, ONLY TO BE TOLD THE NEXT DAY THAT I DIDN'T NEED A NEW CLUTCH. HOWEVER, MY CAR IS STILL MAKING THE RATTLING NOISE THAT HAS LED TO MY CLUTCH BEING REPLACED THE OTHER TWO TIMES. ON MY SECOND REPLACEMENT IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018, I WAS ENCOURAGED TO "UNLOAD" MY CAR AS SOON AS I COULD AS MY CLUTCH COULD NOT PERMANENTLY BE FIXED, AND THAT THEY COULD REPLACE IT, BUT THAT I WOULD BE BACK AGAIN IN 6 MONTHS. WHEN, IN JULY OF THIS YEAR, I WENT FROM NEEDING A NEW CLUTCH, TO SUDDENLY NOT, I ENDED UP WITH MY CAR BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP ON JULY 16, 2016 TO HAVE THEM TEST THE CLUTCH AGAIN. I ASKED THE SERVICE REP IF IT WAS TRUE THAT MY CLUTCH COULD NOT BE PERMANENTLY FIXED AND HE SAID THAT YES, UNFORTUNATELY THAT WAS TRUE. HE EXPLAINED TO ME THE DUAL CLUTCH AND SAID THAT IT WAS AN EXPERIMENT THAT WORKED IN THE FACTORY, BUT FAILED IN THE REAL WORLD. POSSIBLY, MOST CONCERNING TO ME, IS THAT THE CAR HAS TWICE, IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, LURCHED FORWARD WITH THE CAR IN REVERSE. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS BACKING INTO MY GARAGE, AND MY CAR LURCHED FORWARD WHEN I PUSHED ON THE GAS WITH THE CAR IN REVERSE. I BARELY MISSED HITTING MY NEIGHBORS FENCE. THE SECOND TIME, I WAS ON MY PARKING SLAB. WHEN I WENT TO BACK UP, IT LURCHED FORWARD WITH THE CAR IN REVERSE. SINCE, ON MY MOST RECENT VISIT, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THIS ACTION IN MY CAR THEY FIXED NOTHING. THEY ALSO, ONCE AGAIN DID NOT REPLACE THE CLUTCH, AND MY CAR IS STILL RATTLING. I'VE ALSO HAD THE TWO OTHER WARRANTY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE BLOCK HEATER REPLACED, AND I HAD A LOSE BALL JOINT THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE RATTLING AND SHUDDERING THAT I'VE EXPERIENCED ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN ACCELERATING.

CANISTER PURGE VALVE, ENGINE STALL RECALL. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE SINCE I RECIEVED THE CAR FEBUARY 2017. THE ISSUES WAS WHEN I WOULD STEP ON THE GAS TO DRIVE, IT WOULD STALL SLOWLY THE SPEED FROM ITS ORIGINAL SPEED AND CAN FEEL A PULL AND PUSH FROM THE CAR TRYING TO SPEED UP EVEN WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL; THE CAR MOVES SLOW, ITS LIKE ITS TRYING TO GO UP A HILL WITH EFFORT BUT TIRELESS WHEN ITS NOT EVEN GOING UP A HILL. ITS MAKES A LOUD CLANK NOISE WHEN IT TRIES TO SPEED UP. IT DOESNT FEEL SMOOTH WHEN DRIVING. I HAD CALL THE MANUFACTURER FORD SINCE JANUARY 2019. THEY ASK FOR MY DATE OF BIRTH TO SUPPOSELY LOOK FOR ME IN THE SYSTEM AND MAKE ME WAIT FOR 12 MINUTES, THEN THEY HANG UP THE CALL. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT FORD JANUARY 2019, THEY CANCELED IT THE DAY BEFORE. I RECALLED FORD JULY 2019, THEY HANG UP ON ME AGAIN.

ON OCTOBER 11, 2018 THE SAME DAY AS HURRICANE MICHEL, MY 2016 FORD FOCUS ST WAS INVOLVED IN A SINGLE CAR ACCIDENT WHERE THE VEHICLE CUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION AND LOST COMPLETE CONTROL BY ITSELF, CAUSING THE CAR TO FLIP ON ITS SIDE AND BE COMPLETELY TOTALED. THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH WAS UNKNOWN AT THE TIME, BUT ON OCTOBER 25, 2018 FORD PUTS OUT A RECALL FOR THE EXACT MODEL FORD FOCUS BECAUSE OF AN ISSUE CAUSING THE CAR TO RANDOMLY STALL. THEY ARE TELLING OWNERS TO KEEP THEIR FUEL TANK ABOVE HALF FULL TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM AND I KNOW AT THE TIME MY FUEL TANK WAS NOT ABOVE HALF AND THE INDICATOR LIGHTS WERE ON. I BELIEVE THE CAUSE OF THIS CRASH WAS FROM THE RECALL THAT FORD PUT OUT ONLY A FEW DAYS AFTER THE ACCIDENT TOTALING MY 2016 FORD FOCUS ST.

I HAVE A 2016 FORD FOCUS THAT I BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH IT. IN THE LAST MONTH THIS WILL BE THE 3RD TIME MY CAR HAS GONE TO FORD TO BE FIXED. MY CAR WILL RANDOMLY NOT START AND A FEW HOURS LATER TURN ON. IT WILL ALSO THROW FALSE CODES. AFTER THE FIRST VISIT TO FORD THEY REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED THE BATTERY AND TOLD ME IT WOULD NO LONGER BE AN ISSUE. YET, ONLY THREE WEEKS LATER I AM BACK TO FORD BECAUSE MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND DIED WHILE I WAS BACKING DOWN A HILL. I HAD TO HAVE FORD COME TOW IT WHEN I BROUGHT IT INTO THEM THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING AND SENT ME HOME WITH IT. AND NOW NOT EVEN 2 WEEKS LATER IT IS ALREADY DYING AGAIN AND MY TRANSMISSION STILL NEEDS TO BE REBUILT. MY RPMS RANDOMLY FLY UP AND THE CAR SHAKES AND FEELS LIKE ITS GETTING NO POWER TO IT. I GET THERE AND THEY TELL ME THAT THE REASON WAS DUE TO I HAD A AFTERMARKET POWER WIRE ROUTED OVER ENGINE ASSEMBLY CAUSING ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE. SO THEY DISCONNECTED WHAT I PAYED A LOCAL PROFESSIONAL AUDIO SHOP $140 TO INSTALL 2 DAYS AFTER I GOT THE CAR. SO, LONG STORY SHORT, I GET IN THE VEHICLE ONLY TO SEE THAT MY FILL UP @ THE GAS STATION WAS GONE... THEY USED [XXX] NEAR 3/4 OF MY TANK OF GAS PUT OVER 100 MILES ON MY CAR AND I GET 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE DEALER AND AT THE SAME LIGHT..... **** HAPPENS AGAIN!!!! TOOK IT RIGHT BACK TO THE DEALER. JUST GOT MY CAR BACK AFTER 13 DAYS IN THE SHOP AND I COULDN'T BE MORE PISSED! 4TH TIME I HAVE GONE TO PICK IT UP AFTER HEARING THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM ONLY TO GET IN THE CAR, DRIVE IT, AND HAVE IT HAPPEN YET ANOTHER TIME! THEY EVEN TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS MY RIGHT FRONT AXLE CAUSING THE PROBLEM THIS TIME AROUND. ( I JUST HAD THE LEFT FRONT AXLE REPLACED 2 MONTHS BACK AT ANOTHER DEALER) THROWING GREASE ON A CRANK SENSOR CAUSING MY CEL WITH DTC "P0106, P0236, P0340, P0344,P0365, P051B, P0532, P06A7, P08A9, P08B9" ...BLA BLA BLA... THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT THEY KEEP WANTING TO TELL ME THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM! WHAT A WAIST OF BOTH OUR TIME. IT ALSO IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE REMOTE START YOU START IT WITH THE REMOTE START IT SHUTS OFF, START IT AGAIN SHUTS OFF AGAIN, START IT FOR THE 3RD TIME IT STARTS YOU GO TO UNLOCK THE CAR TO GET IN AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF AGAIN ( NOT NORMAL AND IT WAS INSTALLED FROM THE FACTORY NOT AFTERMARKET) NOW THE CAR HAS BEEN HESITATING TO SHIFT AS WELL AS LUNGING WHEN IT DOES SHIFT AND WHEN WE BRING IT TO THE DEALERSHIPS SERVICE DEPARTMENT THEY TELL US THIS IS ALL NORMAL AND THEY HAVE A BULLETIN FROM FORD STATING THAT IT IS "NORMAL " FOR THIS YEAR VEHICLE.

"TAKATA RECALL" WHEN I TAKE OFF MY CAR JERKS AND ALMOST JUMPS LIKE. IT ACTS LIKE ITS DOUBLE SHIFTING OR HAVING A HARD TIME SHIFTING. I HAD FORD LOOK AT IT AND THEY SAID THEY COULDNT HELP ME UNTIL IT GETS WORSE. I WILL BE REALLY UPSET IF SOMETHING GOES AFTER MY WARRANTY IS GONE. A BRAND NEW CAR SHOULDNT DRIVE LIKE THIS.THEY TOLD ME ITS THE CLUTCHING SYSTEM THAT CAUSES IT TO DO THIS . THAT IS WHAT THEY TOLD ME AT FORD ,BUT EONT REPLACE UNTIL IT GETS WORSE.

CAR WAS DRIVING FINE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PROPERLY. ACCELERATOR WAS PUSH TO THE FLOOR, RPM'S WENT UP TO 6,000, CAR WAS JERKY. AT 6,000 RPM THE CAR WOULDN'T GO FASTER THAN 40 MILES PER HOUR. SPEED LIMIT WAS 50. THERE WAS NO WARNING AND NO DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES ON THIS VEHICLE, ONCE IN OCTOBER 2016 AND ONCE ON APRIL 1, 2017. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALER. THEY STATED IT WAS A COMPUTER PROBLEM AND REPROGRAMED MY CAR. IN BETWEEN THE TWO INCIDENTS, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY DATED FEBRUARY 2017. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE CAR "MAY EXHIBIT SYMPTOMS OF INTERMITTENT LOSS OF TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT WHILE DRIVING, NO-START, OR LACK OF POWER, USUALLY ACCOMPANIED BY AN ILLUMINATED SERVICE ENGINE SOON ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER." THE LETTER AUTHORIZES REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, BUT IT IS THE OPINION OF THE DEALER AND FORD MOTOR CO. THAT THEY HAVE TO SEE THE PROBLEM IN ACTION FOR THEM TO REPLACE IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND HAS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. I AM NOT CONFIDENT THAT THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 95 APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES PER HOUR SOUTHBOUND I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION, I DID NOT FEEL ANY IMPACT ON THE AUTOMOBILE BUT BEGAN TO HEAR RATTLING ON THE TOP OF THE ROOF. WHEN I PULLED OVER, I SAW THAT SUNROOF HAD SHATTERED AND EXPLODED. THE SUNROOF COVER ON THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS CLOSED AND HAD NOT BEEN OPENED. NO OBJECT HIT THE SUNROOF, IT JUST EXPLODED. I HAVE PICTURES. NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE ANYWHERE.
