THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER A SECOND TIME AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO BE SPECIFY THE EXACT FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY AND OTHER UNIDENTIFIED COMPONENTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.

THE SCREECHY NOISE SOMETIMES STOPS AND THE VEHICLE IS ABLE TO CONTINUE MOVING. USUALLY WHEN IT'S WET/RAINY THE ENGINE LOSES POWER AND VIBRATES. HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO MOVE OVER I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT AS THEY WOULD HAVE HAD NO WHERE TO GO, JUST A 2 LANE ROAD. CAR STARTED BUT WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE IT, IT WENT ABOUT 20 FEET AND STALLED AGAIN. HAD TO CALL A TOW COMPANY. TORQUE CONVERTER HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE AT APPROXIMATELY 99,900 MILES. FLASHING LIGHT ON DASH SAYS TO CHECK TRANSAXLE. NOT FIXED AS YET...CODE P0715 CAME UP ON THE TECH MACHINE, TURBINE SPEED SENSOR CHECK FAULT. I HAVE CHECKED FOR THESE CODES AND IT SEEMS THAT FORD SENT THESE VEHICLES OFF THE PRODUCTION LINES WITH THESE PROBLEMS TO BEGIN WITH. I FIND THAT NOTHING EVER GETS DONE UNTIL SOMEONE IS KILLED OR SEVERELY INJURED. CALLED KOONS FORD ANNAPOLIS AND HAD THE CAR TOWED THERE THE NEXT DAY (SINCE THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON A SUNDAY). THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR 1 WEEK AND COULD NOT CONFIRM OR DUPLICATE ANY OF THE CONDITIONS. POSSIBLY PCM BUT NOT SURE.THEY FOUND ONE ERROR WHILE DRIVING IT , BUT THE COMPUTER COULD NOT FIND IT. PAID FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST. CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING FINE UNTIL 7/6/13 WHEN EXACTLY THE SAME THING HAPPENED. TOOK BACK TO FORD AND 2 DAYS LATER WAS TOLD IT WAS THE PCM. COULD NOT SAY HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE TO GET A NEW ONE AS FORD DOES NOT HAVE THEM IT STOCK, BUT FOR $1300.00 COULD PLACE THE ORDER. FOUND A FORD TECH BLOG THAT DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT EVERY ONE IS GOING THROUGH AND HOW TO FIX IT. WATER IS LEAKING UNDER THE COWL AND SHORTING OUT THE PCM. THE CAR WOULD START THEN STALL. I WOULD BE DRIVING AND IT WOULD JUST SLOW DOWN LIKE NO GAS GETTING INTO ENGINE AND STALL OUT . I TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER (CREST FORD CENTERLINE MICHIGAN) THEY RAN IT ON A SCOPE. TOLD ME I NEEDED TURBINE SHAFT SPEED SENSOR. THEY REPLACED IT AND CALLED TO SAY MY VEHICLE WAS FINE AND READY TO GO. I PICKED UP CAR ON MONDAY EVENING AND ON WEDNESDAY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. CAR WOULD START BUT WOULD NOT DRIVE. FORD COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM AND FINALLY I CALLED A FRIEND TO ASK FOR A SOLUTION. BECAUSE OF ALL THE ISSUES WITH THE PCM AND HIS EXPERTISE I CALLED MY FORD ADVISOR [XXX] AND TOLD HIM TO CHECK THE PCM FOR WATER DAMAGE. HE CALLED ME BACK SHORTLY AND SAID THEY FOUND THE WATER DAMAGE. THIS IS A VAN MADE VERY WRONG WITH A DESIGN SO THAT YOUR WINDSHIELD LETS WATER FLOW ONTO THE COWL AND THEN DAMAGES THE BRAIN FOR THE CAR. I NOW HAVE TO PAY 1000.00 TO FIX A MISTAKE FORD MOTOR CREATED. THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR EVERYONE WHO OWNS THIS VEHICLE. I HOPE FORD FIXES IT ON A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. AGAIN, NO CODES COME UP.MECHANIC FLUSHES OUT THE TRANNY,& VAN RUNS AGAIN FOR 50 MILES W/O INCIDENT. BUT AGAIN, TRYING TO LEAVE FOR WORK NEXT DAY, VAN DISPLAYS THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. THE VAN LOST COMPLETE POWER ON A HIGHWAY & I WAS ALMOST HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. TOW BACK, NOW BEING TOLD THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACEMENT, OVER $3,000 BECAUSE METAL FROM THE RECALLED PART HAS DISLOGGED INTO TRANNY. I AM NOW FINDING THRU MY OWN RESEARCH THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM RELATING TO THE PCM, WHICH REPLACING TRANNY DOESN'T SOLVE THE ISSUES. FORD IS OFFERING NO HELP OR COMPENSATION AM A SINGLE MOM OF 2 KIDS, 1 IS DISABLED,& NOW BEEN FIRED FROM MY JOB BECAUSE I CAN'T GET THERE 28 MILES AWAY. THE CAR LOST POWER AS I WAS TRYING TO DRIVE IT. IT TOOK SEVERAL SECONDS TO GO FROM 0 TO 20MPH. THIS IS EVERY DAY. ONCE IT GETS TO 20MPH THE CAR DRIVES NORMALLY. ALSO SOMETIMES THE CAR WONT MOVE WHEN PUT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. I HAVE TO PUT IT BACK IN PARK, AND THEN IN DRIVE OR REVERSE FOR IT TO MOVE. ALSO, WHEN I STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR A RED LIGHT, THE CAR DRIVES VERY SLOW UNTIL IT REACHES 20MPH. MY CAR IS ON RECALL BUT I WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT THE PART IS NOT YET IN STOCK. I HAVE BEEN WAITING AND HAVING PROBLEMS AND SPENDING MONEY ON THIS CAR SINCE I PURCHASED IT. I'VE BEEN WAITING MORE THAN 8 MONTHS FOR THE PART FROM FORD. THEY SAY THE CAR IS NOT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FREESTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY LUNGED FORWARD WHILE SITTING IDLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THAT THE THROTTLE FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS. 52,452.00.

WHILE ON MAIN HIGHWAY TRAVELING 55 MPH TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING. ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT WHEN ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE NOTHING HAPPENED, MAKING FOR A VERY HAZARDOUS CONDITION. FORD WAS NOTIFIED OF RECALL AND SENT LETTER IN MARCH 2012, SAYING CONDITION WOULD BE COMPLETED BY END OF 2ND QUARTER OF 2012, BUT THEY HAVE NOT EVEN STARTED. *TT

IN FEBRUARY 2012 I WENT TO FOR CHECK ENGINE LET THEY SAID IT WAS ERG VALUE. I FIX. THEN IN APRIL 14TH I WAS DRIVING DOWN FREEWAY AND MY VAN LOST ACCELERATION POWER I PUT HAZARDS ON AND MANAGE TO GET TO OTHER SIDE OF FREEWAY. MY CAR WOULD START BUT WOULD NOT GO IN FORWARD OR REVERSE. I HAD TO THEN GET TOWED SINCE WAS THEY WEEKEND AND I WAS THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE I TOWED TO HOME. I JUST RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 11S25 / NHTSA RECALL 12V-006 EVERYTIME I DRIVE MY VAN IT DOES NOT SEEM TO WANT TO ACCELERATE OR MAINTAIN SPEED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE MECHANIC AND I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE A NEW EGR VALVE PUT ON, SO I DID. THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND I WAS TOLD NEW SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES SO I HAD THEM REPLACE, THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT I MAY NEED A NEW FUEL FILTER, SO I HAD IT REPLACED AND ONCE AGAIN THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE AND I AM A SINGLE MOM TO TWO YOUNG CHILDREN. I AM WORRIED THAT WHILE I AM DRIVING I WILL LOSE ALL POWER AND WILL BE HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY VAN NEVER WANTS TO GO OVER 40 MPH AND ONCE IT DOES REACH THAT SPEED IT WILL NOT MAINTAIN AND SOMETIMES MAKES AN ODD NOISE. I PULLED ONTO THE BY-PASS THE OTHER DAY AND MY VAN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE RIGHT AWAY... THANK GOD THAT THE TRUCK BEHIND ME WAS ABLE TO PASS ME ON THE SHOULDER. THERE HAVE BEEN A COUPLE OTHER TIMES WHEN MY VAN WOULD NOT GAIN SPEED AND I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER SO THAT THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME COULD PASS. SO IN A NUT SHELL THE PROBLEMS ARE AS LISTED: 1.) VAN WILL NOT ACCELERATE OR MAINTAIN SPEED 2.) DRIVING HOME FROM THE GAS STATION WHEN SUDDENLY THE VAN STOPPED ACCELERATING. WE WERE GOING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AT THE TIME. WE WERE AT A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION SO WE HAD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY QUICKLY BUT THE VAN WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. ANY GEAR FOR THAT MATTER. WE PUSHED THE VAN OUT OF THE WAY BECAUSE THE INTERSECTION IS HIGH IN TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY WITH 18 WHEELERS. THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL WAS WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. WE COULDN'T GET THE VAN GOING SO WE HAD TO GET IT TOWED HOME. WE HAD NO PRIOR PROBLEMS WITH THE VAN GOING IN OR OUT OF GEAR BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. *TR

UPON A STOP OR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE, THE CAR LUNGES FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I VIEW THIS AS DANGEROUS, AS THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES, EITHER WHEN IN A PARKING LOT WITH PEDESTRIANS BEHIND ME ENTERING STORE OR WHEN I AM AT A STOP LIGHT AND PEDESTRIANS ARE IN A CROSSWALK. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I SEE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING AS WELL, CONCERNING A "THROTTLE BODY" COMPONENT ON THE FORD FREESTYLE FROM YEARS 2005 AND UP. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE SERIOUSLY INVESTIGATED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED THROUGH NO FAULT OF THE CAR OWNER, BUT IN FACT, THE VEHICLE AND THE MAKER OF THE VEHICLE. *KB

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE OUR 2005 FORD FREESTAR LIMITED TO GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY THE VAN STALLED WHEN PASSING 2000 RPM(S) WITH NO WARNING. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND LOSS ALL POWER TO THE CAR. WITH THE STEERING LOCKED PULLING OFF TO THE SHOULDER WAS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. THE VEHICLES BEHIND HAD TO GO AROUND ME DRIVING CLOSE TO 65-70 MPH IN SPEED OR SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES TO MISS ME. A VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AND DETERMINED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED; HOWEVER, THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE REAR CALIPERS WERE DEFECTED AND THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THEM. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
