I am reporting a serious safety issue with my 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE that affects the braking system and related electronics: 1.The ABS stopped functioning previously. 2.Recently, the car displayed a “Brake Malfunction” warning for the first time, which appears when making sharp turns. 3.The TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) stopped working some time ago. These issues are extremely dangerous. The electronic brake booster and ABS module are critical for safe braking, especially in emergency situations. With the ABS and brake assist compromised, the pedal can suddenly become rock hard or soft, stopping distance increases dramatically, and traction control/ABS is unavailable during hard braking. I am concerned this is a systemic issue with the 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE braking system and not isolated to my vehicle. This failure could put drivers, passengers, and others on the road at serious risk. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential recall action to protect the safety of drivers nationwide.
Park Break engages on its on when the engine is turned off
Driving down the road and suddenly all the lights came on and lost power steering there was no warning. Nothing. It stopped working. I then see something today in regards to this being an issue and when I contact ford about it was nothing we can do. Ford did not make this very public and I bet if you people expanded this to other newer models and made it public you might find more people that have had the same issue and thought it was just their car.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated that upon attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was jumpstarted. After jumpstarting the vehicle, the vehicle performed normally. However, the contact stated that the battery failure became a regular failure. The low battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 82,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Fusion. The contact stated when the vehicle was started, the instrument cluster display failed to illuminate. The contact stated that the cluster had intermittently lost functionality. The contact stated that he researched online and related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin Number: 20-2363 APIM module. Additionally, the contact stated that the fuel filler pump and fuel door actuator had started to lose functionality. The contact stated that he was unable to completely fill the fuel tank. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the APIM module needed to be replaced and that the fuel filler pump and fuel door actuator need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.

THE TRUNK DOOR OPENS UNEXPECTEDLY. IT HAS OPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. IT OPENED WHILE DRIVING. IT OPENED WHILE THE CAR ON AND IN PARK. IT OPENED WHILE IN A CAR WASH.
Trunk pops open unprompted frequently, often while driving. This is an electrical issue that Ford is not fixing
A WEEK AGO I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY @ 70 MPH AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY CAR STOPPED FOR NO REASON I LOOKED DOWN AND MY TURN KNOB SHIFTER WAS ON PARK, LUCKY FOR ME THERE WASN'T ANY VEHICLE CLOSE BEHIND ME. I PUT MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND TURNED MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT STARTED GOING AGAIN. THEN THE OTHER DAY I STARTED IT AND IT STARTED FINE PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT SWITCHED TO PARK WHEN I STARTED BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND A WARNING SHOWED UP ON MY SCREEN AND SAID TO STOP SAFELY, SO AGAIN I TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON AND IT STARTED AND BACKED UP AND DROVE FINE BUT THE WARNING SIGN WAS STILL THERE SO I PULLED BACK IN MY DRIVEWAY TURNED IT OFF LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, STARTED IT AND THE WARNING SIGN WAS GONE AND IT RAN FINE.

THE SUNROOF LEAKS INTO THE INSIDE OF THE CAR SATURATING THE HEADLINER AND THE WATER IS COMING THROUGH AND DRIPPING DIRECTLY ON THE SHIFTER, ECO BUTTON, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL BUTTON. I AM AFRAID IT'S GOING TO MESS WITH THE WIRING THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE CAR. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR'S DASHBOARD INDICATES A POWERTRAIN FAULT (VIA AMBER WRENCH SYMBOL). CAR SEEMS TO GO INTO A LIMP HOME MODE THAT HAS SYMPTOMS OF GRABBY BRAKES AND LOWER FUEL ECONOMY. CAR HAS ALSO STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING, LOSING ALL POWER, AND REQUIRES THE OPERATOR TO FULLY STOP, SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK, TURN OFF THE CAR, TURN THE CAR BACK ON, AND THEN SHIFT BACK INTO DRIVE BEFORE THE OPERATOR CAN CONTINUE DRIVING. EXTREMELY UNSAFE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY DECELERATES AND THERE IS NO WARNING PRIOR TO THE CAR STALLING. THE POWERTRAIN WARNING LIGHT ORIGINALLY OCCURRED ON 15JUN2018 WHILE LEAVING WORK AND TRAVELLING AT ABOUT 25 MPH WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED ON. IT STAYED LIT THE ENTIRE DRIVE HOME (ABOUT 50 MILES) AND WAS STEADY FOR SPEEDS RANGING FROM STOPPED TO ABOUT 70 MPH. DURING THIS EPISODE, THE CAR DID NOT STALL. ON 18JUN2018, WHILE LEAVING WORK, THE CAR ONCE AGAIN ILLUMINATED THE POWERTRAIN WARNING, BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY STALLED AND I DRIFTED TO THE EDGE OF THE ROAD. I STOPPED THE CAR, PUT IT IN PARK, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, AND THEN PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE, WHERE IT FUNCTIONED, BUT WITH THE POWERTRAIN WARNING ILLUMINATED. I DROVE HOME AT SPEEDS RANGING FROM STOPPED TO 70 MPH, BUT WHEN I EXITED THE HIGHWAY AT MY CITY, ON THE SURFACE STREETS THE CAR STALLED OUT 2 MORE TIMES WITH NO WARNING, LEAVING ME TO PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND QUICKLY TRY TO RESTART THE MOTOR. CAR HAD JUST UNDER 5000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WHEN THIS FIRST OCCURRED. CAR IS A FORD FUSION HYBRID 2018.
